Tiny Theo Is Fighting for Every Breath. Help This Little Survivor Keep Going

Oakton, VA • Tiny Cat Animal Rescue

Theodore came into Tiny Cat Animal Rescue's (TCAR) care before his eyes were even open. TCAR was working with a family near the DC/Maryland border who feed a colony of unaltered community cats when one of those cats, a mom, gave birth on a porch. Once a foster was ready, TCAR collected the whole family: the mom, later named Chippie, and four newborn kittens — three boys, Theo, Alvin, and Simon, and their sister Chipette. Within a week, it was clear Chipette wasn't going to make it. She passed away despite everyone's best efforts, from respiratory illness. Chippie wasn't improving much either; after two weeks of antibiotics with no real progress, a vet visit revealed that she's FIV positive. At five weeks old, Theodore's eyes wouldn't stay open. They were crusted shut with discharge that wouldn't clear no matter what his foster tried. By six weeks, he'd stopped eating on his own. His bloodwork showed that he was anemic and fighting a serious infection, but his foster kept at it, giving him eye ointments, antibiotics, and steam showers to help him breathe. And for a little while, it looked like he was turning a corner. On 7/22, at seven weeks old, Theodore weighed just 1.4 pounds, his left eye had swollen shut around a deep ulcer on his cornea, and his breathing had gone from bad to alarming. An X-ray revealed that his entire left lung had collapsed and the vet diagnosed him with severe pneumonia. Theodore was put on oxygen in the clinic to stabilize him, then sent home on different medications, including round-the-clock eye drops. At his 7/29 recheck visit, Theodore had gained weight and his eye was healing, but his left lung still wasn't clearing. An X-ray showed almost no improvement from the week before. His care team has added nebulizer therapy and sent off testing to rule out mycoplasma, a stubborn respiratory infection. Every recheck, every X-ray, every round of bloodwork and medication adds up — and Theodore isn't done yet. He still needs ongoing vet visits, his full medication regimen, and possibly further diagnostics. Additionally, because of Chippie's FIV positive diagnosis, Theo's own FIV status is still an open question: kittens nursed by an FIV positive mother can test positive themselves from her antibodies alone, without being infected, so he and his brothers won't have a reliable answer until they're retested around six months old. It's one more layer of uncertainty on top of an already fragile recovery. Despite everything, Theo is still just a kitten. He loves Churu treats and being swaddled, falls asleep held against his foster's chest while he gets his oxygen, and still nurses from Chippie even now, at almost ten weeks old. But Theodore ("Sweet Theo") is also a fighter and, with your help, Theodore gets to keep fighting. Theo has a severe, ongoing case of pneumonia. While a week of treatment has brought some improvement, his lungs have barely changed on repeat imaging. Results from a respiratory PCR panel revealed Theo has Calicivirus. While his medication routine stays the same unless his symptoms get worse, he now needs to be separated from his siblings and mom to minimize the risk of his family getting it. His care so far has included: \\- Two full-body X-ray series (7/22 and 7/29), plus radiologist consultation \\- A F.A.S.T ultrasound - Oxygen chamber support to stabilize his breathing \\- Corneal staining and ongoing treatment for a deep corneal ulcer, now healing well \\- Seven medications and counting: azithromycin and Clavamox (failed early on), clindamycin, doxycycline, tobramycin and erythromycin for his eye, and now nebulizer therapy for his lungs \\- Bloodwork from his 7/10 visit \\- A full PCR panel from his 7/29 visit Costs so far: \\- 7/10 visit: $362.99 \\- 7/22 emergency visit: $1,052.76 \\- 7/29 recheck visit: $466.42 \\- Total incurred through 7/29: $1,882.17 Costs likely still ahead (estimates): \\- Bloodwork at a future recheck: ~$300 \\- Continued antibiotics, eye drops, and nebulizer supplies: ~$125 \\- Buffer for complications, a treatment change if mycoplasma or another pathogen is confirmed, or extended oxygen/hospitalization: ~$350 \\- Other supportive care: ~$350 Theo has overcome impossible odds since the day he was born. Now he needs compassionate people to stand beside him for the next chapter of his journey. Your tax-deductible donation today will help provide the lifesaving veterinary care Theodore still needs. Every dollar brings this tiny survivor one step closer to healthy lungs, a full recovery, and the chance to grow into the happy kitten he was always meant to be. If you can't donate, sharing Theo's story could help him find the hero he's been waiting for.

Don't Let This Blood Infection Take Asha

Lake City, FL • Furruspurr Cat Sanctuary, Inc

What starts as a tiny parasite in the bloodstream can quickly become a life threatening battle. Asha Meribor, our sweet 9 year old polydactyl cat at Furruspurr Cat Sanctuary, is fighting hemobartonella, also known as feline infectious anemia. This serious blood infection attacks red blood cells, leaving cats weak, anemic, and vulnerable without prompt veterinary treatment. Asha has already proven how resilient she is, but she can't win this fight alone. To recover, she needs specialized medication, ongoing veterinary monitoring, and supportive care to help her body rebuild its strength. As a sanctuary cat, Asha depends entirely on Furruspurr Cat Sanctuary to provide the medical care she needs, and those expenses are quickly adding up. We are committed to giving Asha every chance to heal, but we can't do it without help. Your donation will go directly toward the veterinary care and treatment she needs to overcome this infection and get back to the happy, comfortable life every cat deserves. Every gift, no matter the size, helps Asha move one step closer to a full recovery. Thank you for standing with us and giving this special girl the chance to heal. 7/30/26 Update: THANK YOU SO MUCH Thank you so much to everyone who reached out and supported Asha's care. Unfortunately, the campaign automatically closed after just 3 days before the goal could be reached for her bloodwork and possibly more treatment. I am so grateful for the kindness during this difficult time. Thank you for caring about her. It means a great deal to me.

Photo of Ruby Darling

Ruby Darling

Ruby Darling is a 4 year old American Shorthair in Pennsylvania, who has severe dental disease and needs $550 for the remaining of her teeth extracted.

Wakefield, MA • Paws 4 A Cure

Ruby Darling has already beaten incredible odds. Once a frightened feral cat wandering the streets of Pennsylvania, she has transformed into a loving companion who finally knows what it means to be safe. But today, this sweet four-year-old tabby is facing a painful battle that she cannot overcome without help. When Ruby first appeared in her caregiver's backyard, she was one of more than 30 community cats receiving food and care through a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program. After her spay surgery, it became clear that Ruby was something special. With months of patience, gentle encouragement, and unconditional love, the frightened stray who once kept her distance slowly learned to trust. She became "Ruby Darling"—a name that perfectly reflects the affectionate cat she is today. Not long after her rescue, Ruby began losing weight and drooling excessively. A veterinary examination revealed severe dental disease, and she underwent surgery to remove several teeth. Her caregiver spent nearly $700 to give Ruby relief, hoping the procedure would solve the problem. Unfortunately, it didn't. Within months, Ruby was once again struggling to eat and living with constant pain. She has now been diagnosed with severe gingivitis and stomatitis—a debilitating inflammatory condition that makes every bite painful. The only way to give Ruby lasting relief is a full-mouth extraction. Without surgery, Ruby will continue to suffer every day. Despite the pain she lives with, Ruby's gentle spirit continues to shine. She has blossomed into a loving indoor cat who enjoys affection and has formed an incredible bond with the person who refused to give up on her. As her mouth became too painful for her to groom herself, her caregiver lovingly bathed her and cared for her matted coat, discovering that Ruby adored the gentle attention. Today, she even happily allows her ears to be cleaned—a remarkable level of trust for a cat who once feared all human contact. Because of her medical condition, Ruby can never return to life outdoors. Her caregiver is committed to giving her a lifetime of love and care, but the cost of her surgery is overwhelming. Ruby's dental procedure is estimated to cost $1,363. Thanks to a generous $300 grant from Paws 4 A Cure, a portion of her treatment has already been covered, but we still need to raise $550 to help make her lifesaving surgery possible. Your donation will help provide: 🐾 A full-mouth dental extraction to eliminate Ruby's chronic pain 🩺 Follow-up veterinary examinations 💊 Pain medications and post-operative care during recovery Ruby has already survived life on the streets. She has learned to trust, to love, and to believe that people can be kind. Now she deserves the chance to eat without pain, groom herself comfortably, and enjoy the happy, healthy life every cat deserves. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today. Every contribution brings Ruby Darling one step closer to living pain-free. If you're unable to donate, sharing her story is another powerful way to help. Together, we can give Ruby Darling the future she's waited so patiently to find.

Kittens in Need

Tiny Lives Counting on You: Help Our Kittens Thrive

MORO, OR • Teresa's Cat and Dog Rescue

Every day, the phone rings with another animal in need. Every day, Teresa's Cat and Dog Rescue is faced with another heartbreaking decision. They keep saying "yes." But they can't keep doing it alone. This kitten season has been one of the hardest the rescue has ever experienced. They are caring for vulnerable kittens, including some that are still very feral and require extra time, patience, and specialized care before they'll ever know the comfort of a loving home. Then, without warning, someone abandoned a frightened mama cat and her three babies right on the rescue's doorstep. As if that wasn't enough, another mama cat gave birth at the rescue, welcoming five beautiful kittens into the world. With every new arrival, the rescue's food costs, supply needs, and veterinary bills continue to grow. What started as an already difficult kitten season has quickly become overwhelming. The costs are staggering. A single growing kitten can eat two to three cans of wet food every day. As more kittens arrive, the amount of food needed grows just as quickly. Then come the veterinary bills, including wellness exams, vaccinations, deworming, medications, emergency care, and eventually spay and neuter surgeries for every kitten when they are old enough. On top of kitten season, the rescue is already carrying significant veterinary expenses for the many animals currently in their care. Every new arrival means more medical bills, more supplies, and more lives relying on a small rescue that refuses to turn animals away simply because funds are low. Today, Teresa's Cat and Dog Rescue is asking for your help. Your donation will help provide: \\- Veterinary care for kittens, cats, and dogs - Wet food and kitten food for growing babies - Formula and supplies for young kittens when needed - Vaccinations and routine medical care - Spay and neuter surgeries - Care and socialization for feral kittens - Food and daily care for every animal at the rescue Every dollar helps. Every donation gives Teresa's Cat and Dog Rescue the ability to answer the next call for help instead of having to turn an animal away. If you have ever wanted to make a difference in the life of a homeless animal, this is your chance. Together, we can turn a season of overwhelming need into a season of hope, healing, and second chances. 7/4/26 Update: We Need Help To Help These Kittens The good news is that their mom has been safely trapped, spayed, and returned to her outdoor home, helping prevent even more kittens from being born. Now our focus is on these little ones. They're growing like weeds, which means they're eating more every day and will soon need their vaccinations and spay/neuter surgeries. The costs add up quickly, and we simply can't do it alone. Kitten season is here, and as a newer rescue that just celebrated our first year as a 501(c)(3), we're still building the resources needed to keep up with the overwhelming demand for lifesaving veterinary care. We're asking for your help. Every donation, no matter the size, helps provide these kittens with the medical care they need to grow up healthy and gives us the ability to continue saying "yes" to animals who have nowhere else to turn. 7/12/26 Update: we need help to help these kittens As the kittens are getting older, we are scheduling their spay/neuter appointments. however because of all the shots and vet visits we have done funding is a issue to pay for these poor babies to get their spay and neuter appointments. we have had more kittens and 3 abandoned dogs (one being a 5 week old puppy) join the rescue, this has caused a huge issue with the vet bills and our funding we are struggling with keeping up with the vet bills and food for everyone. to put it simply we need help to be able to help these poor babies. please if you can help we would greatly appreciate it if not we also understand and ask that you please share our plea. 7/19/26 Update: these babies need to get fixed All these babies are getting older and we need to get them spayed/neutered, however we dont have the funds to do this. we just did all their shots and deworming and need help to help these babies and others without the help of you we can no longer take on any more. 7/29/26 Update: one down 5 to go we got one of these babies neutered however we need help with the rest of them, we have received 75.50 for these 6 babies and that didnt even cover the one neuter and shots we cant do this without your help. please help us help them 8/9/26 Update: While we have only received 25.00 we got them shots all the kittens have received their shots and deworming, however they all need to be fixed and we do not have the funds to do this. we need your help to help these babies. we know times are hard and ask that everyone please share our fundraiser so we can help these babies. they will all need to be fixed before they go to their furever homes

Photo of Sunny

Sunny

Sunny is a 7 year old Labrador Retriever in Roswell, NM, who needs $2,500 for Extra Capsular Repair.

Roswell, NM

I was house sitting for some friends, and they just had a litter of puppies. My 3 boys were with me when the owners asked if wanted a puppy for house sitting. The boys played with the puppies and chose Sunny. That was 7 years ago, and we think the world of sunny. He got his name by him bringing a type of sunshine in our life as we were going through a lot of changes during the time. a few weeks back, Sunny ruptured his Cranial Cruciate ligament in his back leg. Going from an active dog and going on walks twice a day, has gone down too short to almost no walks as he uses three legs often because of his hurt leg. We are planning on doing surgery after the holidays, but the cost will be around $2500 followed by around 6 weeks of recovery. Sunny had another dog in the house until she passed away 3 years ago. Sunny knows when people are need some love and affection. He will come up and give a kiss on the cheek. Sunny is real close to my dad who we call his grandpa. My dad has Parkinson's and a bad back, so Sunny is always watching over him and stays by his side often. He loves sleeping in bed with me at night but can't now. I recently retired from over 28 years of education which cut my salary by half of what I was making. I also am helping my dad with taking him places for medical needs. Having him healthy and active again on our walks and road trips would be the best thing for the family.
