Help This Little Survivor Heal After a 7th-Floor Fall
Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.
He should have been safe at home with the people who loved him. Instead, this tiny kitten fell from a seventh-floor balcony and was left bleeding and severely injured. A neighbor found him lying helplessly on his side inside a cardboard box. His family had been told what happened, but when they saw the extent of his injuries, they refused to take him for medical care. Thankfully, the neighbor reached out to Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society. They didn't hesitate. At 6 AM, a driver was sent to rescue him, and he was rushed straight to an emergency veterinary hospital. X-rays and examinations revealed devastating injuries. His eye had been completely displaced from its socket, and he had suffered serious chest trauma that caused air to leak from his lung and accumulate around his heart and lungs. One of his liver enzymes was also dangerously elevated, likely from the severe trauma and bleeding. He needed emergency surgery immediately. During the first surgery, veterinarians carefully repositioned his eye and temporarily closed his eyelids, hoping the eye could survive because it was still receiving blood supply. They also drained some of the trapped air from his chest. Sadly, when the vets reopened his eye several days later, they discovered that the damage was too severe. There was no hope of saving it, and he had to undergo another surgery to have the eye removed. During that procedure, he was also neutered. But this little survivor isn't out of danger yet. Because of the force of his fall, he suffered significant trauma to his chest and lungs. He still has air around his lungs and needs to remain hospitalized under close veterinary supervision while he receives the care and monitoring he needs. And through it all, this kitten has endured something no animal should ever experience: being abandoned when he was most vulnerable. He was terrified, injured, and alone—and the people he trusted chose not to help him. But his story doesn't have to end there. Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society refused to leave him behind. Now, they are fighting to give him the chance his family wouldn't. Will you help this brave little survivor heal? ❤️ Your donation will help cover his emergency surgeries, hospitalization, veterinary treatment, and ongoing care for his serious lung injuries. He has already survived an unimaginable fall. Now he needs us to help him survive the aftermath. Please donate today and help show him that there are people who will never abandon him.

Desert Dogs
Hope in the Desert: Give Egypt's Forgotten Dogs a Second Chance
Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.
Before sunrise, a small team ventured into a remote desert region of Egypt where survival is a daily struggle. With little access to food, clean water, or veterinary care, countless stray dogs are left to fend for themselves. For many, hunger, illness, and untreated injuries are simply a way of life. These five dogs were among the lucky few. Thanks to the dedication of Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Inc., they were safely trapped and brought to a veterinarian, where they received care that most stray animals in Egypt will never experience. Four of the dogs were spayed, one was neutered, three desperately needed dental procedures to relieve painful oral disease, and every dog received a rabies vaccination and deworming treatment to protect both their health and the communities around them. For these dogs, this wasn't just a trip to the vet—it was the first time anyone had ever shown them compassion. Animal welfare resources in Egypt are extremely limited, and stray animals often face neglect, starvation, and little to no access to medical care. Even providing basic veterinary treatment can be an enormous undertaking, requiring dedicated rescuers willing to travel long distances and stretch every available dollar to help animals that so often go unseen. Now comes the next challenge. The rescue is carefully evaluating these dogs to see if any are friendly enough to safely enter their adoption program. If space allows, they hope to bring at least a couple of them into rescue, giving them the opportunity to experience something they've likely never known: regular meals, safety, love, and a family of their own. Your donation will help cover the cost of the lifesaving veterinary care these dogs have already received and allow Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Inc. to continue reaching more forgotten animals living in desperate conditions. For these five dogs, kindness has already changed everything. With your support, this won't be the end of their story—it will be the beginning of a better life. Please donate today and help give Egypt's forgotten desert dogs the hope they deserve.

From a Dangerous Highway to a Safe New Beginning
Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.
Life on the side of a busy desert highway is no place for a cat. Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society received an urgent call about cats struggling to survive along a heavily trafficked roadway in an area known not only for speeding vehicles but also for high crime. Every day they remained there, they faced the constant threat of being struck by cars, injured, or worse. The rescue team acted quickly to safely trap the two cats before tragedy could strike. Once in their care, the cats received essential veterinary treatment, including neuter surgery and vaccinations, giving them a healthier future while preventing even more homeless kittens from being born into dangerous conditions. Instead of returning them to the hazardous location where they were found, the cats were relocated to a safe property with a dedicated caregiver who will provide food, fresh water, shelter, and ongoing monitoring for the rest of their lives. These cats now have the chance to live peacefully because someone chose to help. Your donation will help cover the cost of their spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, and veterinary care, while allowing Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society to continue rescuing vulnerable cats from dangerous situations. Every contribution helps create another happy ending for cats who have nowhere else to turn. 7/28/26 Update Because of your incredible compassion, these two cats have been given the second chance they so desperately needed. What began as an urgent rescue along a dangerous desert highway has become a story of hope. After being safely trapped, both cats received their veterinary care, including their spay/neuter surgeries and vaccinations, and have now been successfully relocated to a safe property where a dedicated caregiver will provide them with food, fresh water, shelter, and ongoing care for the rest of their lives. Instead of dodging speeding traffic and struggling to survive in an area known for both dangerous roads and high crime, they can now live in safety and peace. Their future looks completely different because of the kindness of people like you. From everyone at Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society, thank you for making this rescue possible. Your generosity helped cover the cost of their medical care and relocation, while also allowing us to continue responding when other vulnerable animals are found in life-threatening situations. Every rescued animal represents a life changed forever, and these two cats are living proof of what we can accomplish together. Thank you for being part of their journey and for giving them the safe, secure future they deserve.

Muffin
Someone Hurt Muffin. Now This Tiny Kitten Is Fighting for His Life.
Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.
Muffin should have been spending his days playing, exploring, and discovering the world. Instead, this innocent kitten was found alone on the streets, abandoned, terrified, and suffering from injuries no animal should ever endure. The most heartbreaking injury is a deep, horrific wound across his neck that appears to have been intentionally inflicted. By the time rescuers found him, the wound had become severely infected, filled with pus, and was causing him unimaginable pain. But that wasn't all. Muffin was also dangerously dehydrated and burning with a high fever as his tiny body struggled to fight the overwhelming infection. Without immediate medical care, he may not have survived. He was rushed to the veterinary hospital, where he is now receiving around-the-clock treatment. Veterinarians have started antibiotics, intravenous fluids, pain medication, and wound management to stabilize him. His fever must come down, and the infection must be brought under control before surgeons can safely repair the devastating injury. Once his wound has been thoroughly cleaned and all infected tissue removed, Muffin will undergo surgery to close the injury with sutures. Even after surgery, he will need ongoing medications, bandage changes, and careful monitoring to ensure his little body can heal. Despite everything he has endured, Muffin continues to show the resilience that kittens are known for. Safe at last, he is finally receiving the compassion and care that has been missing from his young life. No kitten should ever know this kind of suffering. Your donation today will help provide the lifesaving veterinary care Muffin urgently needs—from hospitalization and antibiotics to surgery and follow-up treatment. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings this brave little survivor one step closer to a future free from pain. Please help give Muffin the chance to heal, recover, and experience what every kitten deserves: safety, love, and a life where the only thing around his neck is the gentle touch of someone who cares.

July TNVR of 5 cats
Five Stray Cats, One Mission: Help Us Continue TNR in Egypt
Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.
For thousands of stray cats in Egypt, life is an endless cycle of hunger, illness, and constant reproduction. Every unspayed female can give birth to multiple litters each year, and without intervention, the stray population continues to grow—bringing more kittens into lives of hardship and suffering. At Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society, we believe the most compassionate way to break this cycle is through Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR). Every cat we sterilize prevents countless future litters while improving the health and well-being of the cats already struggling to survive on the streets. This week our team successfully trapped and treated five community cats as part of our ongoing TNR efforts. During this campaign: \- 🐾 Three female cats were spayed. - 🐾 Two male cats were neutered. - 🦷 Three cats received much-needed dental treatment to relieve painful dental disease. - 💉 All five cats were vaccinated to protect them against preventable illnesses. - 🪱 Every cat received deworming medication and flea treatment before being safely returned to their territory. For many of these cats, this was the first time they had ever received veterinary care. In addition to preventing future litters, they are now healthier, more comfortable, and protected from parasites and infectious diseases that are so common among street cats. TNVR doesn't just save individual lives—it transforms entire communities. Every cat we sterilize means fewer kittens born into dangerous conditions, fewer animals competing for limited resources, and healthier colonies that can live out their lives without continuing the cycle of overpopulation. Your donation will help cover the costs of spay and neuter surgeries, dental procedures, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and post-operative care for these five deserving cats. Together, we can create lasting change—one cat, one colony, and one community at a time. Thank you for helping Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society give Egypt's street cats a healthier, safer future.

Arthur
Arthur Survived the Streets. Now He Needs Surgery to Save His Future.
Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.
Arthur is only one year old, but he has already experienced more cruelty than any animal ever should. This stunning young Persian cat was abandoned on the streets of Egypt, where life for a defenseless pet can be unimaginably harsh. Instead of finding kindness, Arthur became the victim of abuse. By the time rescuers found him, he was suffering from devastating injuries that left him in constant pain. Arthur has a broken jaw that makes it difficult and painful for him to eat, and one of his eyes has been so severely damaged that it has ruptured. Both injuries require surgery to relieve his pain and give him the chance to heal. Despite everything he has endured, Arthur has never stopped trusting people. He greets his caregivers with gentle affection, leans into every pet, and purrs as though he still believes that humans can be kind. His sweet personality shines through every moment, reminding everyone who meets him that his spirit remains unbroken, even though his body has suffered so much. Arthur deserves more than survival. He deserves to eat without pain, to recover from his injuries, and to experience what every young cat should know—a safe home filled with love instead of fear. Arthur has already endured abandonment, abuse, and unimaginable suffering. Now he has a chance to leave that painful past behind, but he cannot do it without your help. Please consider making a donation today. Every gift, no matter the size, brings Arthur one step closer to a life where he can eat comfortably, heal completely, and finally discover what it means to be cherished. If you are unable to donate, sharing Arthur's story is another powerful way to help. Together, we can give this beautiful young cat the second chance he has always deserved.

Casper
Casper Was Left Behind. He Needs Help Getting Back on His Feet.
Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.
There was a time when Casper had a home. Someone to feed him, a place to sleep, a sense that he belonged somewhere. And then, without warning, that was taken from him. His owner walked away and left him on the streets to fend for himself. Casper didn't know how to survive out there. Time passed without reliable food or water. He grew weaker, sicker, more withdrawn. And perhaps hardest of all, he became too frightened to approach anyone for help. The people passing by who might have fed him, who might have noticed him suffering couldn't even approach poor Casper. So he suffered in silence, growing more lethargic by the day, until his little body simply couldn't hide how sick he truly was. When Paws and Claws Animal Welfare Society found him, it was almost too late. Casper was malnourished, struggling with a respiratory infection, and his bloodwork revealed troubling signs that his body was in real distress. He was rushed in for round-the-clock hospital care, the kind of constant attention a cat in his condition desperately needs to have any real chance at recovery. Casper is safe now. For the first time in longer than we know, he doesn't have to be afraid. He doesn't have to wonder where his next meal is coming from, or whether anyone is coming for him. But healing takes time, medicine, nourishment, and someone willing to see it through. That's where you come in. Please consider a donation to help Casper get the treatment he needs to feel safe, healthy, and loved again. He waited long enough. Let's not make him wait any longer. 7/29/26 Update What a difference your compassion has made! When Casper first came into our care, he was barely hanging on. Abandoned, emaciated, severely anemic, and slowly losing his battle against illness and neglect, this sweet boy was fighting for his life. Looking at him then and looking at him now is nothing short of incredible. Can you say glow-up?! ✨ Thanks to your generous donations, Casper has made amazing progress. He's eating well, gaining strength, and finally starting to look like the healthy, handsome cat he was always meant to be. It's hard to believe this is the same frightened, fragile boy who was found suffering alone on the streets. Casper isn't finished with treatment just yet. He remains on antibiotics and probiotics, along with a special diet and medications to support his liver function while his body continues to heal. His veterinary team is thrilled with his progress, and so are we! Every day, Casper is proving that love, medical care, and a second chance can truly transform a life. Thank you to every person who has donated, shared his story, or cheered him on. You are the reason Casper has the opportunity to recover instead of becoming another heartbreaking statistic. If you'd like to help support the remainder of Casper's medical care, we'd be incredibly grateful for your continued support. Every tax-deductible donation helps provide the medications, specialized nutrition, follow-up veterinary care, and love that are giving Casper the future he deserves. From the bottom of our hearts—and from one very grateful, very handsome cat—thank you for believing in Casper.

Layla and babies
Layla Chose the Perfect Time to Ask for Help—Now Her Little Family Needs You
Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.
Sometimes, rescue happens at exactly the right moment. Layla, a stray community cat, was recently trapped by Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society as part of a Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) program. The plan was simple: have her spayed, vaccinated, and safely return her to her outdoor home. But Layla had a surprise for everyone. Shortly after arriving at the veterinary clinic, she went into labor and gave birth to her kittens before her scheduled procedure. Instead of returning to life on the streets, Layla and her newborn babies were given the priceless opportunity to stay together in the safety of the clinic, where they could receive the care they desperately needed. Now, this little family is thriving. Layla has since been spayed and vaccinated, ensuring she will never have to endure another pregnancy while struggling to survive outdoors. Her kittens are growing stronger every day under the watchful care of the veterinary team. When they are old enough, each kitten will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and prepared for a bright future. Best of all, Layla and every one of her babies will be available for adoption, giving them the chance to experience something they may never have known before—a safe, loving home. Until then, they continue to need food, housing, veterinary care, and daily support while they grow and prepare for their forever families. Your donation will help cover the costs of Layla's medical care, boarding, and everything this little family needs while they wait for the loving homes they deserve. Every gift, no matter the amount, helps transform what could have been another heartbreaking story of homelessness into one filled with hope, health, and new beginnings. If you're unable to donate, sharing Layla's story helps more people learn about the lifesaving work of Paws & Claws Humane Society and gives this sweet family an even better chance at finding forever homes. Because Layla was rescued at just the right time, her kittens will never have to face life alone on the streets. Together, we can give this beautiful family the happy ending they deserve 7/11/26 Update We are so happy to share that Layla and her kittens are doing wonderfully! This sweet little family has now settled into a loving foster home, where Layla can focus on what she does best—being a devoted mom—while her babies continue to grow stronger every day in a safe, comfortable environment. They are receiving all the love, care, and medical attention they need as they prepare for the next chapter of their lives. Thanks to your incredible generosity, Layla has already been spayed and vaccinated, ensuring she will never have to face another pregnancy on the streets. When her kittens are old enough, they will also be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and eventually begin the search for their forever homes. Because of your support, what began as a routine TNVR appointment turned into an extraordinary rescue story. Instead of giving birth alone outdoors, Layla was able to welcome her kittens into the world surrounded by safety and compassion. From all of us at Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society, thank you for making this happy ending possible. Your kindness has given Layla and her babies the opportunity every animal deserves—a chance for a healthy, happy future. We couldn't have done it without you.

Penelope
Penelope Survived Unspeakable Cruelty—Now She Needs Your Help to Heal
Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.
No kitten should ever have to endure what Penelope has been through. This tiny, innocent kitten was found wandering the streets in heartbreaking condition. Her neck was painfully twisted to one side, she could barely walk without stumbling in circles, and both of her eyes had ruptured. It was clear she was suffering immensely and desperately needed help. Thankfully, Paws and Claws Animal Welfare Society refused to look away. Penelope was rushed to the veterinarian, where bloodwork and X-rays revealed the devastating reality of her condition. Her veterinary team believes she suffered severe blunt-force trauma to the head, likely the result of abuse. The injury left her with neurological damage affecting her neck and balance, and a serious infection—combined with the trauma—is believed to have caused the rupture of both of her eyes. Despite everything she has endured, Penelope is still fighting. Right now, she is receiving intensive medical care, including IV fluids to keep her hydrated, vitamin B12 injections to support her recovery, antibiotics to battle the infection, and anti-inflammatory medications to reduce pain and swelling. Her veterinary team is focused on stabilizing her condition before taking the next critical step. Once Penelope is strong enough, she will undergo surgery to remove both of her damaged eyes. Although she will be permanently blind, cats are incredibly resilient, and with proper care, blind cats can live happy, joyful, and fulfilling lives. For Penelope, this surgery represents the beginning of a future without constant pain. She has already survived the unimaginable. Now she deserves the chance to truly live. Your donation will help cover Penelope's emergency diagnostics, hospitalization, medications, surgery, and the ongoing veterinary care she needs to recover. Every dollar brings her one step closer to comfort, healing, and a life where she will never have to suffer alone again. If you're unable to donate, sharing Penelope's story is another powerful way to help. Together, we can show this tiny survivor that the world can still be filled with kindness. Thank you for standing beside Penelope during the fight of her life. Your compassion is giving her the second chance she so desperately deserves. Update 7/14/2026 Penelope is still fighting! Unfortunately due to her condition she is still in the hospital and requires around the clock care from veterinarians. Every day she is getting stronger but this recovery process is not easy. We hope to bring her back to our facility soon so she can recover in a more peaceful environment. We thank you for all the donations thus far and ask you to continue sharing and donating! 7/22/26 Update We're so happy to share an encouraging update on sweet Penelope. After spending time hospitalized receiving around-the-clock veterinary care, Penelope has now returned to Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society, where she is continuing her recovery in a quieter, more comfortable environment. While her journey is far from over, Penelope is making steady progress. She remains on several medications as her veterinary team continues treating her injuries and carefully monitoring her condition. One of the most important goals right now is helping her slowly gain weight and build her strength so she will be healthy and stable enough to undergo the eye surgery she still desperately needs. Perhaps the most heartwarming update is that Penelope's personality is beginning to shine through. Despite everything she has endured, this resilient little kitten has started playing with the shelter volunteers and is becoming more comfortable each day. Watching her discover toys, interact with people, and simply enjoy being a kitten is a beautiful reminder of why every step of her recovery is worth fighting for. Although these milestones are encouraging, Penelope still has a long road ahead. She will continue to need medications, supportive care, good nutrition, and ongoing veterinary monitoring as she prepares for surgery and continues her healing journey. Your generosity has already given Penelope a chance she never would have had on her own. If you're able, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help cover the cost of her continued medical care, upcoming surgery, and recovery. Every contribution brings this brave little girl one step closer to a life free from pain. If you aren't able to donate, sharing Penelope's story is another wonderful way to help. Thank you for standing beside Penelope and helping give this tiny survivor the second chance she so deserves. 7/29/26 Update Sweet Penelope continues to show us just how resilient she truly is. Over the past week, we've started to see small but encouraging improvements. Penelope remains on medication to help manage the neurological damage caused by the severe trauma she endured, including the nerve damage responsible for her head tilt. While she still has a long way to go, we're happy to report that she is beginning to show signs of improvement. Recovery from this type of injury is a slow process, and there is no quick fix. Her veterinary team is continuing to monitor her closely as she heals, and she will likely need ongoing medication, supportive care, and regular veterinary evaluations for quite some time. Every tiny milestone is a victory, and we're celebrating each one alongside her. Despite everything she's been through, Penelope continues to amaze us with her gentle spirit. She has never stopped fighting, and her determination reminds us every day why we refused to give up on her. Your kindness has already made an incredible difference in Penelope's life, but her journey is far from over. The cost of her ongoing medications, follow-up veterinary visits, specialized care, and eventual surgery continues to add up. If you're able, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help us continue providing Penelope with the care she needs throughout her long recovery. Every gift, no matter the size, helps ensure this brave little kitten has every opportunity to heal and live the happy, pain-free life she deserves. If donating isn't possible, sharing Penelope's story with your family and friends is another wonderful way to help. Thank you for believing in this incredible little survivor and for standing beside her every step of the way.

Cole
Abandoned to Die When He Needed Help Most: Help Save Cole
Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.
Cole's story is one of heartbreaking betrayal. Not long ago, Cole was someone's beloved pet. He had a home, a family, and people who were supposed to care for him. But when he became seriously ill and veterinary treatment became expensive, he was abandoned. When we found Cole wandering the streets alone, he was still wearing an IV catheter and a tight bandage on his leg—a devastating reminder that he had recently been receiving veterinary care. We later learned that his owners had taken him to the veterinarian, refused to pay for the treatment he desperately needed, and simply left him outside to fend for himself. Confused, sick, and in pain, Cole was forced to survive on the streets while battling a severe viral infection affecting his jaw. Without treatment, the infection progressed relentlessly. Part of his jaw began to deteriorate. Several of his teeth were lost. The remaining teeth became severely infected and decayed. The odor coming from his mouth was overwhelming and heartbreaking. Unable to eat comfortably and suffering from extreme dehydration, Cole's condition continued to worsen. By the time Paws & Claws Animal Welfare found him, he was exhausted, starving, thirsty, and enduring unimaginable pain. We knew there wasn't a moment to lose. Cole was rushed immediately to the veterinary hospital and admitted to the ICU, where he is now receiving intensive medical care. He is being treated with fluids, medications, pain management, and supportive care as veterinarians work to stabilize his condition and give him a chance to recover. But Cole's journey is far from over. Once he is strong enough, he will likely require extensive oral surgery to remove the severely diseased teeth that remain and address the damage caused by the infection. His ongoing hospitalization, diagnostics, medications, and future procedures are creating significant veterinary expenses every single day. No animal deserves to be discarded when they become sick. No animal deserves to be abandoned simply because treatment costs money. Cole deserved better than what happened to him. Now he needs compassionate people to help him receive the care he was denied. Please consider making a donation today to help cover Cole's ICU hospitalization, medical treatment, diagnostics, medications, and future oral surgery. Every contribution gives this sweet boy a better chance at healing, comfort, and the loving future he deserves. Together, we can show Cole that he is not forgotten and that his life is worth fighting for. 7/7/26 Update We have some encouraging news to share about sweet Cole! Thanks to the incredible support of our community, Cole has improved enough to leave the hospital and continue his recovery at the Paws & Claws Animal Welfare shelter. While he still has a long road ahead, this is an important milestone in his healing journey. Right now, our focus is helping Cole regain his strength and put on much-needed weight before he undergoes the extensive dental surgery he desperately needs. His damaged and infected mouth has made eating difficult for so long, so building his health back up is a crucial step before anesthesia and surgery can be performed safely. In addition to his oral health challenges, Cole has also been diagnosed with blood parasites and is receiving treatment for them. Our veterinary team is closely monitoring his progress and making sure he receives the medications, nutrition, and loving care he needs every day. Although Cole is no longer in the ICU, his journey isn't over. His upcoming dental procedure and ongoing medical treatment remain essential to relieving the pain he's endured for far too long and giving him the chance to enjoy a healthy, comfortable life again. Thank you for believing in Cole and giving him the opportunity to keep fighting. Your generosity has already helped carry him through the most critical part of his recovery, and your continued support will help him reach the next milestone on his journey toward healing. 7/12/26 Update Cole continues to make steady progress as he recovers under the care of our veterinary team. Every day he grows a little stronger, and we're so grateful to see him becoming more comfortable after everything he has endured. He remains surrounded by compassionate caregivers who are making sure he receives the nutrition, medications, and monitoring he needs as he continues healing. While we're encouraged by his progress, Cole's medical journey is not over. He still requires ongoing veterinary care, follow-up examinations, medications, and additional treatment to address the damage caused by the severe infection he was living with before his rescue. Our team is committed to giving him every opportunity to make a full recovery and enjoy the pain-free life he has always deserved. We cannot thank our supporters enough for making Cole's rescue and treatment possible. Because of your generosity, a cat who was abandoned when he needed help most is finally receiving the love and medical care he should have had all along. If you're able, please consider making a donation to support Cole's continued recovery. Every contribution helps provide his ongoing veterinary care while also allowing us to rescue and treat other animals facing medical emergencies. Thank you for standing with Cole and reminding him that he is loved, valued, and worth fighting for. 7/22/26 Update We’re excited to share another encouraging update on Cole’s recovery! After everything this sweet boy has endured, Cole continues to make wonderful progress. He is still receiving his medications as his veterinary team carefully monitors his recovery, but we're happy to report that he has gained weight—an important milestone that shows he's getting stronger and healthier with each passing day. Cole also recently got a much-needed lion cut to remove his long, dirty, matted fur. Not only has it helped him feel more comfortable, but it's also given him a fresh start as he continues leaving his difficult past behind. Seeing him clean, comfortable, and cared for is a powerful reminder of just how far he's come since being abandoned when he needed help the most. While these improvements are incredibly encouraging, Cole's journey isn't over yet. He still requires ongoing medications, veterinary monitoring, and follow-up care as he continues recovering from the severe infection that affected his mouth. His veterinary team remains committed to ensuring he is healthy and strong enough for any additional treatment he may still need. Every step forward is possible because of compassionate supporters like you. Your generosity has given Cole the opportunity to heal, regain his strength, and experience the love and care he should have had all along. If you're able, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help cover Cole's continued veterinary care and recovery. Every contribution helps provide the medications, follow-up treatment, and specialized care he still needs while also allowing Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society to rescue more animals facing medical emergencies. If you aren't able to donate, sharing Cole's story is another meaningful way to help. Thank you for believing in Cole and for giving this resilient boy the second chance he so deeply deserves. 8/1/26 Update We have the happiest news to share—Cole has officially completed his medical treatment! When Cole was rescued, he was in unimaginable condition. Abandoned by the people who were supposed to love him, he was left to suffer with a severe infection that had destroyed part of his jaw, left him with rotten and missing teeth, and made every bite of food agonizing. He was dehydrated, weak, and fighting for his life. Today, that frightened, suffering cat is almost unrecognizable. Since his rescue, Cole has completed all of his prescribed medical treatments, successfully recovered from his illness, and reached another major milestone—he has been neutered and undergone the dental surgery he so desperately needed. During the procedure, veterinarians removed several painful, diseased teeth, finally giving Cole the relief he had gone without for far too long. His journey isn't quite over, but it's incredibly close. Over the coming weeks, Cole will receive his vaccinations, completing his veterinary care and making him officially fully vetted and ready for the bright future he deserves. None of this would have been possible without you. Because of your generosity, Cole was able to receive emergency hospitalization, lifesaving medications, surgery, and compassionate veterinary care instead of continuing to suffer alone on the streets. You gave him a second chance after he was abandoned when he needed help the most. From all of us at Paws & Claws Animal Welfare, thank you for believing that Cole's life was worth saving. Your kindness transformed a story of heartbreak into one of hope, healing, and new beginnings. Stay tuned—we can't wait to share the day Cole finds the loving forever home he has always deserved. ❤️

June TNVR of 5 cats
Five Cats, One Compassionate Mission: Help Us Complete This TNVR Project
Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.
On the streets of Egypt, life is incredibly hard for community cats. Every day they face hunger, illness, injuries, and the constant struggle to survive. Without intervention, the cycle continues as more kittens are born into the same difficult conditions. Paws & Claws Animal Welfare recently stepped in to help five beautiful community cats—four females and one male—through a lifesaving TNVR (Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Return) project. Each of these cats has now been safely trapped and brought in for veterinary care. The four females are being spayed, which will prevent countless future litters and spare them the physical toll of repeated pregnancies. The male cat is being neutered, helping reduce roaming, territorial fighting, and injuries. All five cats are also receiving essential vaccinations to help protect them from preventable diseases and improve their overall health before being returned to the areas they call home. This project may involve only five cats, but the impact is enormous. By helping these cats today, we are preventing future suffering for dozens—possibly hundreds—of kittens who would otherwise be born on the streets. As a small rescue organization, Paws & Claws Animal Welfare relies on the kindness of supporters to cover the costs of surgeries, vaccinations, transportation, and recovery care. Your donation will directly help fund this TNVR project and give these five cats a healthier, safer future. Every dollar matters. And if you're unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is another powerful way to help. Together, we can create lasting change—one cat, one surgery, and one second chance at a time. 🐾❤️ Thank you for supporting Paws & Claws Animal Welfare and their compassionate work for Egypt's community cats.

Bowie
Dumped, Injured, and Left to Suffer- Help Bowie Heal
Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.
Bowie deserved compassion. Instead, he was abandoned to suffer alone. When rescuers with Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society found him on the streets, they were horrified by the condition he was in. Bowie was weak, exhausted, and in obvious pain. He had a fractured hind leg and a large, severe wound between his thighs that had become dangerously infected. Even more heartbreaking, the wound was infested with maggots. As they fed on his flesh, Bowie’s condition rapidly worsened. He developed a high fever, stopped eating, and became so weak that he could barely fight for himself. Without immediate veterinary care, he would not have survived much longer. Veterinarians believe Bowie’s injuries may have been caused by intentional harm before he was abandoned and left without help. Alone on the streets, his untreated wounds deteriorated until they became life-threatening. Today, Bowie is finally safe. He is hospitalized and receiving intensive veterinary treatment, including wound care, antibiotics, pain management, fluids, diagnostic testing, and ongoing monitoring. His medical team is also evaluating the best course of treatment for his fractured leg once he is stable enough to continue his recovery. Bowie has endured unimaginable pain and neglect, but despite everything, he continues to fight. Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society is committed to giving Bowie every chance at healing, but the cost of emergency care and hospitalization is significant. After everything Bowie has suffered, he deserves the opportunity to heal in safety and experience kindness for the first time in a long time. Please donate today and help Bowie leave his painful past behind. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings him one step closer to recovery. 6/25/26 Update With heavy hearts, we share that Bowie has passed away. When Bowie was found, he was suffering from horrific injuries no animal should ever endure. He was weak, emaciated, battling a severe infected wound, a fractured leg, and the devastating effects of prolonged neglect. Thanks to your generosity, he was immediately rushed into veterinary care where he received pain medication, antibiotics, wound treatment, supportive care, and the compassion he had been denied for far too long. As Bowie’s medical team worked tirelessly to stabilize him, they discovered another battle raging inside his tiny body. It was unknown at intake that Bowie was suffering from panleukopenia, a highly contagious and often deadly viral disease that is especially devastating to vulnerable cats. Despite aggressive treatment and every effort made to save him, his fragile body simply could not overcome the combination of severe trauma, infection, and illness. While we are devastated by this outcome, we take comfort in knowing that Bowie did not die alone on the streets. Because of your support, his final days were spent surrounded by people who cared deeply about him. He knew warmth, safety, gentle hands, full meals, and love. He was treated with dignity and compassion every step of the way. We are profoundly grateful to everyone who donated, shared his story, and kept Bowie in their thoughts. Although we could not give him the future he deserved, together we gave him something incredibly important: kindness when he needed it most. Thank you for helping us be there for Bowie. We will carry his memory with us always.

Phoebe
Phoebe Survived the Streets—Now She Needs Emergency Care to Heal
Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.
Phoebe should have been safe at home, loved and protected. Instead, this gorgeous, fluffy kitten with her unique coloring was abandoned and left to fend for herself on the streets of Egypt. Alone and vulnerable, she faced dangers no kitten should ever have to endure. Life on the streets is incredibly difficult for homeless cats, and sadly, cruelty toward them is all too common. Phoebe became the victim of a horrific act when someone poured acid on her, leaving her with painful burns and devastating injuries. Terrified, suffering, and in desperate need of help, she likely would not have survived much longer on her own. Thankfully, a compassionate woman who regularly feeds stray cats noticed that something was terribly wrong. She immediately reached out to Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Inc., and despite the late hour, we knew we had to act fast. At 2:00 a.m., Phoebe was rushed to an emergency veterinary hospital where she is now receiving lifesaving care. Her medical team is working to manage her pain, clean and treat her wounds, prevent infection, and carefully monitor her condition. Because burn injuries can worsen over time, Phoebe will remain hospitalized until veterinarians determine that she is stable enough to continue her recovery under our care. While we are relieved that Phoebe is finally safe, her journey is only beginning. Emergency hospitalization, medications, wound care, diagnostics, and ongoing treatment are expensive, but this sweet kitten deserves every chance to heal and experience the loving life she was denied. Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Inc. could not turn away from Phoebe's suffering, but we cannot do this alone. Please consider making a donation toward Phoebe's medical care. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will help provide the treatment she needs to recover from this unimaginable cruelty. Together, we can show Phoebe that not all humans are capable of harm—that many are capable of kindness, compassion, and love. 7/7/26 Update We wanted to share an update on our brave little fighter, Phoebe. Recovery has not been easy for this sweet kitten. During her hospitalization, Phoebe developed panleukopenia, a serious and highly contagious viral disease that can be life-threatening, especially for young kittens. It was a heartbreaking setback just as she was beginning to recover from the horrific acid burns she suffered. Thankfully, Phoebe is proving just how resilient she is. She remains hospitalized, where the veterinary team continues to provide around-the-clock treatment, supportive care, and careful monitoring. We are happy to report that Phoebe is eating well, and her bright little personality is slowly beginning to shine through again. She is becoming more alert, perking up a little more each day, and giving us hope that she is heading in the right direction. While these are encouraging signs, Phoebe still has a long road ahead. She will need to remain in the hospital until her medical team is confident she is strong enough to continue her recovery safely. Between her burn injuries and her battle with panleukopenia, she continues to require intensive veterinary care. We are so grateful to everyone who has donated, shared her story, and kept Phoebe in your thoughts. Your compassion is giving this precious kitten the chance to heal from unimaginable cruelty and experience the love and care she has always deserved. Please donate and share her campaign as the costs are climbing as she stays in the hospital. 7/12/26 Update Phoebe continues to receive dedicated care from our veterinary team as she recovers from the unimaginable injuries she suffered before her rescue. While her healing journey has been challenging, she continues to show us just how resilient she is. Every day, she grows a little stronger, and we remain hopeful as she continues making progress. Her team is closely monitoring her condition, providing ongoing wound care, medications, nutritional support, and everything she needs to help her body heal. Recovery from injuries like Phoebe's takes time, patience, and continued veterinary attention, but she is surrounded by people who are committed to giving her every chance at a happy, healthy future. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated, shared her story, and kept Phoebe in their thoughts. Your kindness has already made a tremendous difference, allowing us to provide the lifesaving treatment and compassionate care she deserves. As Phoebe continues her recovery, her medical expenses continue to grow. If you're able, please consider making a donation to help cover her ongoing hospitalization, medications, follow-up care, and treatment. Every gift, no matter the size, helps ensure Phoebe receives the care she needs while also allowing us to continue rescuing other animals facing unimaginable circumstances. Thank you for believing in Phoebe and helping turn her story from one of unimaginable cruelty into one of hope, healing, and love. 7/28/26 Update We are so happy to share another wonderful update on our sweet girl, Phoebe. When Phoebe first came into our care, she had endured unimaginable cruelty. Abandoned on the streets and suffering from severe acid burns, she was fighting for her life. As if that wasn't enough, she developed panleukopenia during her hospitalization, creating yet another obstacle on her long road to recovery. Today, we're thrilled to say that Phoebe has come so far. She is doing very well and has an excellent appetite, eagerly eating her meals and growing stronger each day. Seeing her enjoy food and regain her energy is a huge milestone and a testament to her incredible resilience. Phoebe is still receiving treatment as she continues to heal. Her burn wounds are improving nicely, and she remains on topical medications to help them heal properly. She is also receiving injections to treat her anemia, along with antibiotics to eliminate the blood parasites that were discovered during her recovery. While she still has some healing ahead of her, her veterinary team is very pleased with the progress she continues to make. Looking back at where Phoebe started, her transformation has been nothing short of remarkable. Thanks to the compassionate veterinary team and the incredible generosity of supporters like you, this little kitten has gone from fighting for her life to looking forward to a future filled with hope. From everyone at Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Inc., thank you for standing beside Phoebe throughout her journey. Your donations, shares, and words of encouragement made it possible for her to receive the lifesaving care she desperately needed. Because of your kindness, Phoebe was given the chance to heal—not only from her physical injuries, but from the cruelty she experienced. She now has the opportunity to grow into the happy, healthy cat she was always meant to be. Thank you for believing in Phoebe and for making her second chance possible.

Help Three Community Cats in Egypt Get the Chance for a Healthier Future
Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.
Every cat deserves the chance to live a healthy and safe life. Paws & Claws Animal Welfare is seeking support for the TNVR (Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Return) of three community cats in Egypt—two males and one female who are living on the streets and facing the daily challenges of life without consistent care. For community cats, TNVR is one of the most effective and compassionate ways to improve their quality of life while helping reduce the number of homeless animals born into difficult conditions. Through this program, each cat will be humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and returned to the area they call home. The female cat's spay surgery will prevent countless future litters, helping break the cycle of homelessness and suffering. The two male cats will also be neutered, reducing territorial fighting, roaming, and the risk of injuries. Vaccinations will provide important protection against preventable diseases and help keep these cats healthier in the future. While the cost of caring for just three cats may seem small, these veterinary expenses add up quickly for rescue organizations already stretched thin helping animals in need. Your donation will directly support the veterinary care required to complete this TNVR project and make a lasting impact on the lives of these cats and the community around them. Every contribution matters. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser. Every share helps spread awareness and brings these cats one step closer to receiving the care they need. Together, we can help these three community cats live healthier lives and prevent future generations from facing the same hardships. Thank you for supporting Paws & Claws Animal Welfare and their lifesaving work for animals in need. 6/20/26 Update We are thrilled to share that this TNVR project has been successfully completed! Thanks to your generosity and support, all three community cats—two males and one female—have been safely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and returned to the areas they call home. Because of your kindness, these cats now have a healthier and safer future ahead of them. The female cat will never again have to endure the physical demands and risks of repeated pregnancies, helping to prevent countless kittens from being born into the hardships of street life. The two male cats have been neutered, which will help reduce territorial fighting, roaming, and injuries. In addition to their surgeries, all three cats received essential vaccinations that will help protect them from preventable diseases and improve their overall quality of life. While these three cats may never know the names of the people who helped them, their lives have been changed forever because of your compassion. TNVR is one of the most effective and humane ways to reduce the number of homeless animals while improving the well-being of the cats already living in our communities. Every successful project creates a lasting impact—not only for the cats themselves but for future generations who will never have to struggle on the streets. On behalf of Paws & Claws Animal Welfare, thank you for making this possible. Your support helps us continue providing lifesaving care to vulnerable animals throughout Egypt and gives us the ability to say "yes" when more community cats need help. Together, we are creating a kinder future—one cat at a time

Gucci
Gucci Survived Horrific Abuse — Now He Needs Help Getting Home
Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.
Meet Gucci, a survivor whose journey has already overcome unimaginable cruelty. Eight months ago, Gucci was rescued from the streets of Egypt in horrific condition after suffering severe abuse. His injuries were so devastating that he spent more than a month hospitalized, fighting just to survive. Despite everything he endured, Gucci never stopped showing the gentle, loving spirit that makes him so special. Although the abuse left Gucci permanently blind, it never took away his ability to trust, love, and hope. Over the past several months, he has learned how to navigate the world with courage and resilience. Everyone who meets him is amazed by how affectionate and sweet he is despite the pain he survived. Now, for the first time in his life, Gucci has the chance at the happy ending he deserves. A compassionate adopter in Switzerland saw Gucci’s story and fell in love with him. They are ready to welcome him into a safe, loving home where he will finally be cherished, protected, and treated like family for the rest of his life. But we need your help to get him there. We need to raise $1,000 to cover Gucci’s medical clearance, travel expenses, airline transport, and everything needed to safely bring him to his forever home. After everything this brave boy has endured, we cannot let this opportunity slip away. Gucci has already fought so hard for a second chance. Stories like Gucci's are why we do this work. Watching a cat go from surviving horrific cruelty to being cherished by a family halfway across the world is truly the happy ending we all hoped for. While Gucci's rescue journey has reached its destination, the costs associated with getting him there were significant. Veterinary clearances, travel documentation, transportation arrangements, airline expenses, and other travel-related costs were necessary to make this adoption possible. We are still working to cover these expenses and would greatly appreciate your continued support. If you are able, please consider making a donation to help offset the cost of Gucci's journey to his forever home. Every contribution helps us continue rescuing vulnerable animals and giving them the second chances they deserve. 6/20/26 Update We are so happy to share that Gucci is doing fantastic in his new home in Switzerland! His adopters absolutely adore him and are making sure he is spoiled rotten. Eight Lives at Risk: Help Us Humanely Stop the Cycle
Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.
Meet eight forgotten street cats whose lives were hanging in the balance. For months, these cats have been surviving in the heart of a busy city center, scavenging for scraps, dodging traffic, and trying to stay alive in an area that has become increasingly hostile toward them. As the colony continued to grow, complaints escalated — and now, multiple people have threatened to poison the cats if something is not done immediately. These cats did not choose to be born outside. They are victims of abandonment, lack of spay/neuter access, and generations of unchecked breeding. Without intervention, the cycle will continue, putting even more cats at risk of suffering, illness, injury, and death. We are stepping in now before tragedy strikes. Our rescue team is working urgently to trap, neuter, vaccinate, and medically assess all eight cats. Through TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return), we can stop the population from growing while also protecting the cats already living there. This is their chance to break the cycle. Without immediate help, these cats face the very real threat of being poisoned simply for existing. TNVR is the humane solution that protects both the cats and the community, but we cannot do it without support. Please donate today to help us save these eight vulnerable street cats before it is too late. Every dollar helps provide lifesaving veterinary care and gives these cats a safer future. 5/24/26 Update We are so incredibly grateful to share that all eight cats in this vulnerable city colony have now been trapped, vetted, and safely returned through TNVR thanks to your compassion and support. Because of your donations and shares, these cats no longer face the risk of adding more kittens to an already dangerous situation, and their futures are now much safer and more stable. These cats may have once been overlooked and unwanted, but your kindness reminded us that every life matters. By supporting this campaign, you helped break the cycle of suffering for this colony and prevented countless future kittens from being born into life on the streets. TNVR truly saves lives, and this mission would not have been possible without every person who donated, shared, and stood beside these cats when they needed help most. From all of us — and from these eight resilient street cats — thank you for making this happy ending possible.

Ethan
Ethan Was Hit by a Car and Left Suffering Under a Food Truck
Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.
Ethan was suffering alone in unimaginable pain when someone finally noticed him dragging himself beneath a food truck after being hit by a car. Terrified, injured, and desperate for safety, he crawled underneath searching for scraps of food and a place to hide. Instead of compassion, the food truck owner tried to push him back out with a broom while this broken little cat struggled just to survive. Thankfully, someone stepped in before it was too late. We rushed Ethan straight to the emergency veterinary hospital, where the extent of his injuries became heartbreakingly clear. Ethan has multiple broken bones in his legs, making it impossible for him to walk normally, and he is also suffering from a traumatic hernia caused by the accident. The hernia is so severe that it is pressing against his organs and making it difficult for him to breathe comfortably. Right now, Ethan is being closely monitored in the ICU as veterinarians work to stabilize him. One of the biggest concerns is his dangerously low body temperature. His hypothermia must be corrected before he can safely undergo the lifesaving surgeries he desperately needs. Once stable enough, Ethan will require: • Emergency surgery to repair his traumatic hernia • Orthopedic care for his multiple broken bones • ICU hospitalization and continuous monitoring • Pain management and supportive care • Ongoing diagnostics, medications, and recovery treatment Despite everything he has endured, Ethan is still fighting. Beneath the fear and pain is a cat who simply wanted help, warmth, and kindness. We are committed to giving Ethan every possible chance to survive and heal, but his emergency care will be extensive and costly. Please consider donating to help cover Ethan’s ICU care, surgeries, and recovery. Every donation gives this sweet boy a better chance at breathing comfortably, healing from his injuries, and finally knowing safety and compassion. Ethan has already suffered more than any animal should. Now he needs all of us beside him as he fights for his life. 6/7/26 Update Ethan is responding well to the medical care he has been receiving, and for the first time since his rescue, we are feeling hopeful about his recovery. One of the most encouraging signs is that his appetite is beginning to return. After everything his body has endured, seeing him interested in food again is a positive step forward and a sign that he is continuing to fight. He is also tolerating his treatments well and remains under close veterinary supervision as his medical team carefully monitors his progress and determines the next steps in his recovery journey. While Ethan still has a long road ahead, every small victory feels enormous. A cat who was once hiding beneath a food truck, terrified and gravely injured, is now receiving the care, warmth, and compassion he desperately needed. We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has donated, shared Ethan's story, and kept him in their thoughts. Your support has given him a chance to keep fighting. However, Ethan's medical journey is far from over. His hospitalization, diagnostics, ongoing treatments, pain management, and future care continue to generate significant expenses. We are still working to raise the funds needed to cover the cost of giving Ethan the best possible chance at a full recovery. If you would like to help Ethan continue his fight, please consider making a donation. Every contribution directly supports his medical care and helps ensure that cats like Ethan receive the lifesaving treatment they deserve when tragedy strikes. 6/16/26 Update We are overjoyed to share some incredible news about Ethan — he has officially been discharged from the hospital following a successful surgery and is now continuing his recovery in the care of our rescue team. His surgery was a success, and after receiving intensive care, pain management, diagnostics, and around-the-clock monitoring, Ethan was finally strong enough to leave the hospital. While this is a huge milestone worth celebrating, Ethan's recovery is not over yet. He still needs ongoing care as he heals from his injuries, including follow-up appointments, medications, restricted activity, and close monitoring to ensure his bones and surgical site continue to heal properly. For the first time since his rescue, Ethan can recover in a safe, quiet environment surrounded by warmth, comfort, and people who are committed to helping him heal. As Ethan continues his road to recovery, donations are still greatly appreciated to help cover the cost of his surgery, hospitalization, medications, follow-up care, and rehabilitation. 7/11/26 Update We are happy to share that Ethan continues to make progress on his recovery journey. After surviving a devastating accident, undergoing lifesaving surgery, and overcoming so many obstacles, Ethan is now focused on healing. While he is still recovering from an upper respiratory infection (URI) and a mycoplasma infection, he is receiving exceptional care every step of the way. Ethan is currently being looked after by a dedicated veterinary nurse at the shelter who is providing him with around-the-clock care to ensure he receives his medications, supportive treatments, proper nutrition, and plenty of love while his body continues to recover. Having someone monitoring him 24/7 gives him the very best chance at making a full recovery. Looking back, it's incredible to see how far Ethan has come. The frightened cat who dragged himself beneath a food truck with multiple broken bones and a life-threatening hernia is now safe, comfortable, and surrounded by people who are committed to helping him heal. None of this would have been possible without your generosity. Your donations gave Ethan access to emergency surgery, hospitalization, pain management, diagnostics, medications, and the ongoing care he continues to need today. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in Ethan and giving him the chance to fight for his future. Your compassion transformed what could have been a tragic ending into a story of resilience, hope, and healing. We can't wait to share more updates as this brave little survivor continues on his journey toward a healthy, happy life.

Nana
Help Nana Survive After a Brutal Attack
Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.
Meet Nana, a gentle senior dog whose life changed forever in a single horrifying night. Nana has been cared for by a local shelter ever since they moved into their new location. She is an older stray dog who had finally found a place where she could feel safe. But yesterday morning, shelter workers heard heartbreaking cries coming from outside — screams of pain no animal should ever have to endure. When rescuers rushed to her, they were horrified by what they found. A neighborhood security guard later shared that around 4 a.m., he heard the sound of a dog being violently beaten and screaming in agony. When he went outside to investigate, he saw two people running away carrying a large stick. The shelter reviewed their outdoor security footage, but sadly the attack happened too far from the cameras to clearly identify the people responsible. Nana was immediately brought inside the shelter and given emergency first aid while rescuers desperately searched for transportation to get her to the veterinary hospital as quickly as possible. After extensive examinations, blood tests, and X-rays, veterinarians discovered the full extent of the damage inflicted on this sweet elderly dog. Nana is believed to be around 10 years old, and she has already lost all of her teeth from age and hardship. The brutal beating left her with a fractured pelvis, severe wounds across her body, and a large swollen mass on her face. But the injuries did not stop there. The trauma caused a serious hernia that forced her colon and bladder to protrude through the damaged area. The attack also tore the muscles responsible for helping her urinate and defecate, leaving her unable to relieve herself normally. Veterinarians had to immediately place a catheter to empty her bladder and stabilize her condition. Now Nana urgently needs major emergency surgery to return her organs to their proper place, repair the hernia, and reconstruct the torn muscles so she can urinate and defecate again. Because of Nana’s age, the surgery is extremely risky — but without it, she will not survive. Although her pelvic fracture thankfully does not require surgery, Nana will need strict cage rest and long-term confinement to allow her body to heal properly after everything she has endured. Despite unimaginable pain and cruelty, Nana continues to fight. She deserved compassion and protection, but instead she suffered horrific violence at the hands of people who should have known better. Now this sweet senior girl needs all of us to show her that kindness still exists. Please consider making a donation to help cover Nana’s emergency surgery, hospitalization, medications, diagnostics, and ongoing recovery care. Every dollar will go directly toward giving this innocent dog a chance to heal and experience safety and love for the first time in a very long time. If you cannot donate, sharing Nana’s story could help save her life by reaching more compassionate supporters. Thank you for standing with Nana and helping her fight for the second chance she so desperately deserves. 5/19/26 Update We are so relieved to share that Nana’s emergency surgery was successful. After everything this sweet senior girl endured, Nana made it through her major operation and is now finally beginning the long road to recovery. Veterinarians were able to repair the devastating hernia injuries caused by the attack, return her organs to their proper place, and reconstruct the damaged muscles that had left her unable to urinate or defecate normally. Because Nana is older, severely malnourished, and came into surgery in such fragile condition, her healing process is expected to be slow — but she is already showing everyone just how strong she truly is. Right now, she is resting comfortably, receiving pain management, supportive care, and strict confinement so her body can continue to heal safely. While Nana still has a long journey ahead of her, this surgery gave her the chance she desperately needed. As Nana continues recovering, donations are still deeply appreciated to help cover her ongoing hospitalization, medications, follow-up care, nutritional support, and long-term recovery needs. Please continue sharing Nana’s story and keeping this brave girl in your thoughts as she heals one day at a time. 5/29/26 Update Nana remains hospitalized and under the care of her veterinary team following the horrific injuries she suffered. While she still has a long road ahead, we are encouraged by the progress she is making each day. Because of the extensive trauma to her body and the major surgery she underwent, Nana is still very weak and currently needs assistance to urinate and defecate. Her caregivers are helping her with these basic functions while closely monitoring her recovery and providing the supportive care she needs. One thing Nana has not lost is her appetite. Despite everything she has endured, she is eating well and maintaining a healthy interest in food, which is an encouraging sign as her body works to heal. Every meal she finishes helps give her strength for the challenges that still lie ahead. Recovery for a senior dog with injuries this severe is never quick, but Nana continues to show quiet determination every day. She is resting, healing, and receiving the compassionate care she deserves after experiencing such unimaginable cruelty. We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported Nana so far. Her ongoing hospitalization, medications, nursing care, and follow-up treatment continue to generate significant expenses, and donations are still urgently needed to help us provide the care she requires. Please continue sharing Nana's story, keeping her in your thoughts, and donating if you are able. Nana has already overcome so much, and with your support, we hope to see this brave girl continue getting stronger one day at a time. 6/19/26 Update When Nana was found after suffering an unimaginable act of cruelty, we didn't know if she would survive. This gentle senior dog endured horrific injuries after being brutally beaten, leaving her with a fractured pelvis, severe wounds, a devastating hernia, and extensive internal damage that required emergency surgery to save her life. Today, thanks to the incredible support of compassionate people like you, we are grateful to share that Nana's story has become one of hope and healing. After undergoing lifesaving surgery and receiving weeks of intensive veterinary care, Nana is now safe at Paws & Claws Animal Welfare, where she is finally experiencing the kindness and security she has always deserved. While her recovery is still ongoing, Nana continues to make steady progress each day. She remains under close medical supervision and is receiving vitamin B12 injections, medications, and supportive care to help her regain her strength. Most importantly, Nana is no longer afraid. She is comfortable, feeling safe, and beginning to trust again. After everything she has endured, seeing her relax, enjoy gentle affection, and simply rest peacefully is a powerful reminder of why rescue work matters. Bianca
Urgent: Help Bianca Heal After a Devastating Medical Emergency
Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.
Meet Bianca, a beautiful seven-month-old kitten whose young life has already been filled with unimaginable suffering. This sweet girl was found alone on the streets in severe pain, desperately needing help. Despite everything she had endured, Bianca remained incredibly friendly and affectionate, leading rescuers to believe she was once someone’s house cat before being abandoned to fend for herself. When Bianca was rushed to the emergency veterinarian, doctors discovered she was suffering from a prolapsed uterus — a painful and life-threatening condition that may have been caused by a traumatic birth or aggressive mating by an unneutered male cat. At only seven months old, Bianca should have been safe, loved, and protected — not fighting for her life on the streets. The veterinary team acted immediately, performing emergency surgery to remove Bianca’s uterus and save her life. She also underwent full bloodwork and remained hospitalized in the emergency clinic for 24 hours after surgery so doctors could closely monitor her recovery and manage her pain. Thanks to the quick actions of her rescuers and veterinary team, Bianca now has a chance at a new life. But emergency medical care comes at a significant cost, and her rescue urgently needs help covering the expenses of her lifesaving treatment. Despite her ordeal, Bianca continues to show nothing but love. She craves affection, leans into gentle pets, and purrs for the people helping her heal. Her resilience is truly incredible. Please consider making a donation to help cover Bianca’s emergency veterinary care and recovery. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps ensure this sweet kitten gets the second chance she deserves — one filled with safety, comfort, and love instead of pain and abandonment. If you’re unable to donate, sharing Bianca’s story can help her reach more compassionate supporters. Thank you for being part of Bianca’s journey and for helping give this precious girl the future she deserves. 5/28/26 Update After undergoing emergency surgery to correct her life-threatening prolapsed uterus, Bianca has continued to make steady progress in her recovery. Theodore
Tiny Theodore Should Have Been Safe in Someone’s Arms — Not Fighting for His Life in a Hospital Cage
Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.
Theodore is just a baby. A tiny kitten who should be learning how to pounce, curling up in warm blankets, and falling asleep to the sound of a gentle heartbeat. Instead, Theodore was found alone on the streets — abandoned, terrified, and being tormented by children while he lay too weak to defend himself. When someone witnessed what was happening, they immediately reached out to our rescue in desperation. We rushed Theodore straight to the emergency veterinary hospital. What veterinarians found was devastating. This fragile little kitten is suffering from severe blunt force trauma, and based on the extent of his injuries, the medical team believes Theodore was struck in the head. The trauma has left his tiny body in critical condition. When Theodore arrived, his temperature was dangerously low — a life-threatening sign that his body was beginning to shut down. He was cold, limp, and barely responsive. Every minute mattered. Right now, Theodore is hospitalized in intensive care where the veterinary team is working tirelessly to stabilize him, raise his body temperature, manage his pain, and monitor for neurological damage caused by the head trauma. Because he is so small, Theodore has almost no reserve to fight this on his own. Kittens this young can decline in an instant. But despite everything this baby has endured — abandonment, cruelty, fear, and unimaginable pain — Theodore is still here. Still fighting. Still trying. Our rescue could not turn away from this suffering little soul, but emergency hospitalization and round-the-clock care come at a significant cost. We are asking our village to step in for Theodore. He has already known the worst of humanity. Please help us show him the best. Your donation will go directly toward Theodore’s emergency hospitalization, diagnostics, warming support, medications, and lifesaving critical care as veterinarians work to pull him through this unimaginable trauma. No kitten should have to survive this. No baby should suffer alone. Please donate if you can and share Theodore’s story far and wide. He needs all of us now. 5/11/26 Update: Thank you so much for your support to Theodor♥️ We want to thank everyone supported and donated for Theodore, your support made it possible ♥️ you can see Theodor now is playing with us and happy, he couldn’t do that before finally this baby can lives his normal life as a baby and want to play, he is still on medications and we will continue caring and loving him ♥️ your donations made a difference in his life, he couldn’t move at all but now he is acting and playing 😍😍
