About

Freekibble and Freekibble Kat were launched in 2008, as the vision of then 11-year-old Mimi Ausland. Mimi wanted to feed the homeless pets at her local shelter. “There are tens of thousands of dogs and cats in animal shelters across the country, all needing to be fed a good meal.” With this in mind, Freekibble was created. Since then, we’ve donated over 24 million meals to homeless dogs and cats in shelters and food banks across the country! Today, the Freekibble Network reaches over 500,000 passionate pet-lovers, with over 140,000 daily combined visitors from 157 countries. This loyal community has helped us feed and care for 100’s of thousands of animals in need. We hope that you will now join us to save thousands more pets lives through our partnership with Waggle!

Roger

Roger is a three-year-old Labrador in Fort Worth, TX, who needs $2,000 for emergency surgery.

Lewisville, IN • Lucky Lab Rescue & Adoption

Even though Roger was on death's door, he kept winning hearts with his charm. It likely helped save him. A week ago, Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption received an urgent call from a municipal animal shelter. A wonderful and sweet Labrador, who got brought in off the street, needed help immediately. The dog was attacked. He had more than a dozen lacerations and injuries all over his body, including some near-fatal wounds. He needed emergency medical care, which the shelter could not provide, so workers contacted Lucky Lab. "When we saw Roger, we knew we had to help him," Amy T., from Lucky Lab, tells Waggle. "Even though he was in pain, you could see he was trying to keep his happy-go-lucky game face on. There was no way I could say no. The shelter said Roger won the hearts of everyone who met him during his short time there." Rescue volunteers picked up Roger and rushed him to Westcreek VCA Animal Hospital. The veterinarian called the rescue and said Roger was in such awful shape he needed surgery immediately. It appeared he was attacked, likely by coyotes or a pack of dogs. He was at death's door, and if he were bitten one more time, he probably would not have made it. During four hours of surgery, Dr. Jill McNeil and her staff sutured, stitched, and sewed Roger back together. He came out of the operation with sutures just about everywhere, a drain tube from one wound, a head bandage, and an eye injury. When the animal hospital gave Lucky Lab the post-op update, they added, "He's just the nicest, most loving dog. We are so happy to help him." Roger has to stay at the hospital for two weeks for bandage changes and wound care, so everything heals perfectly. He's in pretty fragile shape. Each time Lucky Lab gets an update from the staff, they tell them what an amazing dog Roger is. The good news: He is expected to recover and will hopefully be up for adoption in about a month. What a story, and what a dog! Go, Roger, go! Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption doesn't turn down dogs that need medical care, but the nonprofit rescue relies on donations to pay their tabs at the animal hospital. "Without donations from generous donors and help from organizations like Waggle, we would not be able to save all the dogs we do. We appreciate everyone who gives or shares Roger's fundraiser. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts," Amy adds. "Thank you for helping to save Roger's life."

Pulguitas

Pulguitas is a 12-year-old Chihuahua in Stockton, CA, who needs $900 for enucleation.

Stockton, CA

I have had Pulguitas for about 12 years now. Over the years I have grown very attached to him. We named him Pulguitas because he was full of flees when we first got him. I remember driving for an hour in the rain to pick him up for the first time. We quickly found out that he gets car sick. We were glad to remove him from his current situation because it did not look like he was taken care of. Pulgas has become my companion. He is always with me and follows me around the house. He especially likes to snuggle with me on the couch. I feel a lot of comfort having him with me. He is also like my guard dog and alerts me if anyone is outside. We are inseparable and he even likes to sleep on my bed with me every night. I am 66 years old and have a fixed income and cannot afford the costly surgery my poor baby needs. I would really love to have Pulguitas feeling better again. I feel he has several more loving years to give if given the opportunity. Pulgas has had an eye infection that comes and goes. Looks like he has an eye ulcer that he scratches from time to time and unfortunately got infected. We are trying to heal his eye with antibiotic but his eye is too far gone. We have been to two different vets and they both believe his eye needs to be removed to avoid the infection from spreading. I have had Pulgas since he was a puppy. We got him when he was only days old. We were told he was 8 weeks but the vet believe he was younger. We kept Pulgas because we did not feel he was safe taking him back where we got him from. He was always a fighter. He looked weak and sick but you could see his willingness to want to live.

Peanut

Peanut is a 7-year-old Chihuahua in Gilbert , AZ, who needs $1,360 for teeth extractions and oral surgery.

Gilbert, AZ

I was currently looking to adopt a loving companion and found Peanut. I instantly fell in love with his picture and had to meet him. The lady I adopted him from did not provide me with any documentation regarding his medical history or background, so I figured I would take him to the Vet regardless to make sure he's healthy. This was when my Veterinarian told me he needed treatment. I take Peanut everywhere with me! He absolutely loves riding in my lap or in his bed on mini car rides. I've tried to encourage him to walk on a leash but that's not his thing at the moment, hopefully in the future I can implement that when he feels ready to. He's such a cuddle bug and will only sleep with me at night. I'm under a really tight budget and this came as a major surprise to me especially with the quoted cost. I'm truly concerned with this, and for Peanut's health especially if I cannot come up with the money. It would truly mean the world to us both. Forever Thankful!! Peanuts recent vet visit was to ensure he was healthy until my Veterinarian Dr. Sharon Langeneckert disclosed his oral problems to me and the importance of getting the work done.I was told he needed a few teeth extracted andthe estimate costs and fees that it would take to try and fix his issues.Which I can provide proof of Treatment Plan. My Veterinarian is Anasazi animal clinic in Gilbert,AZ. Peanut has a very special place in my heart, it was like he was suppose to be with me so he could be saved, and also live the rest of his life happy and healthy like every K-9 should with an owner. I find it so sweet that he has already recognized what door we leave from in the mornings and he waits there for me until it's time to go. I couldn't imagine not having him in my life.

Keely

Keely is an 11-year-old Lab Mix in Fargo, ND, who needs $1,300 for Surgical Repair of Ruptured Ligaments in Knee.

Fargo, ND

We met Keely at a rescue. We had recently lost our beagle, Ben, to prostate cancer. Like many of you, our home is not complete without a canine companion. We fell in love with her at a shelter in MD during a trip in 2010. We discovered she had been poorly treated because she had a scar from what appeared to be a cigarette burn. But she has always trusted us. And we love her. Keely lives in a 3 generation household. It's my husband, my adult daughter, 8 year old grandson and me. Oh, and our cat Ferguson. Who's her favorite? Probably Paul - but honestly, it's really whoever walks her and feeds her. Yeah, she loves the one she's with. She loves chasing balls at the dog park. Sadly, until she has surgery on her knee, no dog park for her at present. We are a three generation household. My husband is unable to work. I work 3 jobs. My daughter works a low-wage job. Keely deserves to go back to the dog park. She can only do that with successful surgery. Keely has ruptured ligaments in one knee. Also a fatty tumor in the same leg (noncancerous). To provide her with freedom from pain and achieve good motion she needs surgery. Our provider - Animal Health Clinic, Fargo, ND vet is Dr. Ness. It will take 8-12 weeks post op for her to begin to bear weight on that let again. Keely loves to be around family. At bedtime, she will go downstairs to sleep by our bed, but after she knows we are sound asleep, she slips back upstairs to sleep on the couch. I think she likes to make sure she is a connection between my husband and me downstairs, and my daughter and grandson who sleep on the third floor. She loves pizza bones (the crusts nobody else wants to eat).

Comet

Comet is a one-year-old Domestic Shorthair cat in St. Cloud, FL, who needs $2,000 for leg surgery.

St Cloud, FL • Helping Paws Humane Society

The list of abuse Comet endured is long, but his spirit remained strong despite everything he went through. A woman spotted Comet and saved him. He was limping and had an eye injury. It was clear he had been abused. She contacted Helping Paws Humane Society, who immediately took the cat into their rescue and brought him to the animal hospital. "The vet took X-rays which revealed he had pellets lodged all over his body! In his head, in his eye, in one of his elbows, and in his abdomen. He was limping because his leg was infected and broken in four different places," Karen B., with the rescue, tells Waggle. Comet needs immediate surgery to amputate his leg at Saint Francis Animal Hospital. It's such a mangled mess; unfortunately, there's no orthopedic surgery that can fix it. Comet's eye will also be removed in the future because of the pellet wound. Incredibly, he seems to know he's been saved and is finally in a safe place. He's expected to get around well with three legs. "He's a great cat. He's very affectionate," Karen says. "He is always circling around people's legs the best he can. He's purring all the time." The rescue says they need donations to help Comet get on the road to recovery. "Comet deserves a chance at a great life with a loving family," Karen adds. "Being able to provide him with the medical care and treatment he needs means the world to our volunteers."

Slinky and Yoyo

Slinky and Yoyo are 1-year-old mix pups in Moab, UT, who need $2,000 for Parvo Treatment.

Moab, UT • Underdog Animal Rescue and Rehab- Moab

Slinky(M) and Yoyo(F) were found abandoned in Newcomb, NM on the Navajo Reservation in early January. A long-time supporter of Underdog Rescue and Rehab saw them cowering under some trash to try and keep warm from the chilly winter winds and scooped them up. Since recovering from Parvo, both Slinky and Yoyo are now in their forever homes. Slinky and Yoyowere very energetic, happy, and vocal pups. So when their foster reported that they were acting lethargic and uninterested in food, we knew something was wrong. After three nights of intensive care, Slinky and Yoyo are both back to their energetic selves. They love exploring and following their noses to new places. They enjoy playing with other dogs and learning new tricks. Underdog Rescue has saved 1400 + dogs from the res. We never turn a dog away because of their medical needs. We are a small rescue that relies on our supporters to help us through emergency medical cases. Slinky and Yoyo were transported to our foster in Grand Junction, CO. Later, the foster reached out and said Slinky was acting lethargic and was uninterested in food. At Amigo Animal Clinic, Slinky was diagnosed with Parvo. Two days later, Yoyo was diagnosed with Parvo too. Each pup spent three nights in intensive care at the vet for IV fluids to ensure they survived. Slinky and Yoyo are from the Navajo Nation reservation. They were rescued from the estimated 250,000+ stray animals on the rez. Rez dogs are against some of the harshest environments, deadly dog diseases, and cannot access basic needs. When these pups survived abandonment in the winter on the rez and deadly disease, they became heroes in our eyes.

Dallas, TX • Pooch Savers Rescue

Meet Tinker Bell, an 8-year-old yorkie. She came to us from the Palm Valley shelter, in South Texas. She was on the euthanasia list because of the ENORMOUS growths on her underbelly. Our vet took x-rays of her chest to see if there were any signs of “spreading” - thankfully, the lungs & heart appear clear. The two hardened mammary masses are the size of fists and make up about 20% of her body weight, which is all of 9 lbs! She is another one that has obviously been SEVERELY neglected; these growths didn’t get this big overnight. Our moto at Pooch Savers is "Every dog deserves a second chance." She needs surgery to remove the growths, at which time she will be spayed and microchipped. Tinker Bell is full of life and very sweet and we anticipate a full, long, healthy, and happy life following surgery.

Beau

Beau is a 8-year-old Schnorkie in Gulfport, FL, who needs $450 for excision of mass.

Gulfport, FL

Beau first came to me as a medical Foster. His owners passed away and the people who took him in did not care for him properly. I adopted him immediately and began treating his ears that were infected from a botched home cropping failure. He had infection underneath the scar tissue and both of his ears were literally filled with scabs. His eyes were crusted shut because they had not given him the daily eye drops he needed. We have cleared those issues up but he has a three centimeter Mass on his back that needs to be removed and biopsied. I was laid off from my job the day I adopted him and now my car is broken down lol! Hopefully the mass is not cancer. Either way, it is very irritating to him and he wants to pick at it and I have to keep him covered in clothing or a cone 24/7 until it is removed. I am working with PetPal veterinary and they offer a much lower cost. Beau is extremely loving and patient. He had to tolerate the administering of many medications when I first got him. Nothing phases him. He is Mr Mellow and has blossomed and grown strong and healthy under my care. my other dog was not initially all that welcoming to him and he still was very patient with her. As he has grown healthier and stronger he has become more and more outgoing and loves trips to the dog park, going for walks and car rides. He is beginning to play with toys and is very interactive with all other dogs and gentle with cats. Thanks to covid-19 my primary job went out of business and I have been unable to get through to unemployment. I have secured another job but have fallen behind on all of my bills. Beau and his health are my number one priority. This boy had a bad run before I got him and he has blossomed and we are bonded beyond belief. He deserves to be out of pain and be able to run around and play like any other dog without fear of infection or further irritation. Pray with all your might that it is not cancer. I am currently searching for grants and trying to raise the funds along with pet pal veterinary clinic in St Petersburg to have the mass removed and biopsied. Hopefully now that we have cleared up all of his other infections we can safely remove this and it will require a good bit of stitches and some tender care afterward which I can provide. Unfortunately, I just do not have the money at this point. All of my dogs my entire life have been rescued and I have taken the most difficult ones and seen them all blossom into the best dogs ever. Please help and thank you! He is absolutely a talker and I like to think I have him saying I love you! his previous owners must have been very good to him and very involved because he knew several commands and is completely obedient. He smiles at you with his teeth showing and loves to put his front feet on you and do a big stretch. he already has a huge fan club among my friends and neighbors and sleeps in the bed with me every night. He is my dream!

River

River is a 0-year-old Bernedoodle in Granite Bay, CA, who needs $1,800 for Fracture Repair.

Granite Bay, CA

I am seeking financial assistance for my 6-month-old puppy, my world, my River. He was in an accident yesterday and tragically fractured his leg. He is such a happy, active, loving pup that it is tearing me apart knowing he is at the vet alone right now. I work for a nonprofit where I help victims of trauma, and unfortunately, I do not make enough to cover his medical expenses. Anything helps. River is such a sweet boy. His favorite activities are hiking and terrorizing mama. He comes with me to the office every day and is loved by my coworkers and clients. My plan is to get him trained to become a therapy dog soon. He loves playing fetch and twirling for treats. He is loved by everyone who meets him and always greets you with a wagging tail and wet kiss. Due to covid, I recently moved in with my dad to help him (he has stage 4 cancer), so he needed help with some bills and just general care. I am providing for both of us off of very limited funds. River is the most important thing in my life and I just want him home safe. I was at work and I left River with my dad for the day (he usually comes with me, but I had a very busy day and felt he would have more fun with grandpa). My dad was playing with him and River jumped up to get a ball out of my dad's hand and fell backwards, landing on his leg wrong and snapped it. I rushed home and took him to Loomis Basin VCA emergency vet, where he is currently being treated. I have never laughed so hard as I do now daily. He brings so much joy into my life and is so goofy. He has such a personality that everyone is entertained when they meet him. He loves sleeping on his back and taking up the entire bed. And filling his mouth with water, to then just open it and walk around the house creating a creek for mom to walk through.

Puppy Tumble is a three-month-old Labrador in Austin, TX, who needs $1,500 for Parvo treatment and hospitalization.

Lewisville, IN • Lucky Lab Rescue & Adoption

Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption volunteers are completely and utterly heartbroken: Puppy Tumble came down with Parvo. "She is the sweetest girl," Amy T., with the rescue, tells Waggle. Parvo is a dangerous, highly contagious virus that is completely preventable if a puppy or dog is vaccinated. Sadly, these puppies were born outside after a person who didn't spay or neuter their pets had an unexpected litter. "Not spaying, neutering, or vaccinating your dog or cat can have serious consequences," Amy says. "Now this puppy is suffering because of it. We see this happen all the time, and it's gut-wrenching." The rescue hopes Puppy Tumble, fighting for her life at New Hope Animal Hospital, can win her battle, and her littermates don't contract the virus. Lucky Lab is a nonprofit that isn't afraid to take in dogs with medical issues that might otherwise be euthanized. But they can only do that with the help of organizations like Waggle and generous donors. "Every dog we save is special," Amy adds. "We go out of our way to help treat dogs for medical conditions they have. We are praying for Puppy Tumble."

I took him and he looked at me and wagged his tail and kissed me on the nose. We rode 8 hours home with him snuggled in my lap and he did really well. He became my love and my constant companion. Bodie sleeps with me every night. He loves his big black and white pitbull girlfriend! He's always giving her kisses. Bodie is an unusual Chihuahua. He doesn't bark much and loves everyone. He loves his treats! He still has his puppy demeanor and is such a happy little guy. He will greet everyone at the door with a waggy tail. I'm on a fixed income and I paid everything I had but there is still a balance owing that I need to pay. There was no way I wasn't going to let him have the surgery. He's my baby and my companion and has been registered as my service dog. Bodie was attacked by a dog and I had to ride to the emergency vets with his little eye hanging by a thread. He had to have emergency surgery to remove it. We were lucky Dr. Mancuso the eye specialist was still in the office. He was treated at Animal Eye Care of the Peninsula. She was such a warm caring vet. Bodies favorite thing is to snuggle with me or his pitbull girlfriend. Lol. He has become my service dog as well. We have been through a lot in our time together. As well as traveling from coast to coast. Bodie has been on a train plane bus boat ferry as well as many miles in a car. He talks to me with eyes and eyebrows. He also loves napping and will happily join you on the bed for some good marathon sleep. He even snores and its the cutest thing ever. Zoey is a service animal. Disability Income. Lilly

Lilly is an 11-year-old Calico in North Providence, RI, who needs $2,000 for radical mastectomy.

North Providence, RI

Lilly came into our life in June of 2009. Ever since then, she has been the sweetest, most loveable, cuddly cat one can imagine. Our family loves animals, so we have quite a few. We have another cat, a guinea pig, and a few aquatic animals too! Lilly got her name from a character on a Disney show at the time and she is often called ‘Lil’, ‘Silly Lilly’ or ‘Lily-Bear’ by those of us in the house. Lilly is a very sleepy cat and loves to sleep on anyone in reach. If there is no one to cuddle with, she’s either on her cat tower or the couch. Oddly enough, Lilly loves to play with backscratchers, which she goes crazy for. When she wants something, she will rub against us until we get her what she wants. She loves being pet and her favorite thing is when we brush her hair or scratch her neck. As stated above, this is the second operation Lilly must undergo, within a year. Our family has experienced work loss with Covid spreading through our house just a few months ago. Upon finding out about Lilly's cancer our family has been cutting every corner to save Lilly. Lilly has cancer in her mammary glands for the second time and it can be removed with a guarantee of this cancer not coming back. She was a champ when healing from her first surgery, and we want to give her the same opportunity this time around. It is crucial that Lilly receives treatment asap. She is getting surgery from Ferguson Animal Hospital and Dr. Nicole Deegan is her treating veterinarian. Lilly is a very timid cat, but when she hears a car beep or a siren she jumps up and starts growling. Other than that, she’s a quiet cat and can read everyone really well. She knows when someone is upset and will lay with them until they seem better. She's also a bit chunky, so when she goes to jump somewhere she goes up and down until she thinks she can make it, even if it's the smallest jump.

It devastates me to think about losing her because I can’t afford to take my little boys dog to get help. I lost my job because of Covid-19 and I’m unable to work because my little boys school is closed due to the pandemic. He is home schooled so that means I cant work. Single mother no support and I struggle on a daily basis. Sky girl need seen by a veterinarian ASAP. I’m ashamed that I had to ask for any kind of help but it’s reality that if she don’t get the proper medical assistance she is going to die. She is part of our little family. We have had her for only 8 months We got her from a lady that couldn’t afford to take care of her either. She is so loving. Please help give sky a chance at life. She is the most loving dog. She lays in bed with you right beside you and she will put her arm around you just like she is a human being. Very therapeutic to both of us I also struggle with mental health conditions. Chance came to me after my little Yorkie died in a tragic accident. Winston was my first dog and I loved him so much, so when my husband realized that I was still depressed a year later, he decided to look for a new companion to fill that void in my heart. Chance was found by his rescuers chained to a tree, abandoned and starving. We saved him, and he saved me. What stands out the most about Chance is is loving nature. He craves love and giving love. Gentle giant, by definition. He is noticeably more uncomfortable these days because of his condition which breaks my heart, because despite this he still tries to give as much love as he possibly can muster. His energy levels have significantly depleted because of his many ailments. I lost my job because of the Covid-19 pandemic. After that, I had our first baby. We are currently surviving off my husband's income alone. If we didn't have a child, I would absolutely spend all our money on treating Chance. Chance has horrible skin allergies, which requires large doses of expensive medication to manage. He also has an enlarged prostate and a massive abscess around his penis which requires surgery just to explore. In addition he is going blind. And lastly, he has what appears to be a tumor on the back of his neck which would cost several hundred dollars to remove. Chance is as special as they come! He loves to play, roll around on the floor with me, he comforts me when I'm upset (he always knows), and loves to go on adventures or do ANYTHING as long as he's with his mama and/daddy. He's got his quirks of course, he's afraid of the vacuum and the broom! Which is a bit funny just because he's a big boy! He's very well behaved due to his desire to please us!

Our next door neighbor was fostering sweet Stella and her brother which afforded us a lot of time to get to know them both. To say we fell in love instantly would be an understatement. When we were given the opportunity to adopt her from the rescue organization we felt incredibly blessed. She joined our home and seemed to settle right in, cuddling and bonding with her new family. Stella sleeps in our bedroom outside of her crate at night. When attending puppy class she was awarded the "advanced relaxer" title. We now know that this may have been in part due to the pain she was in but also know that she is a lover who will curl up anywhere if her people are around. Her vast number of sleeping positions and snoring have provided great entertainment for us. We were told that THR surgery was the only option for her for both hips, plus additional expenses. To take this on feels overwhelming but we also know her fate is in our hands and didn't feel we had great options. After purchasing pet insurance for her, within a very short period of time we noticed her struggling to stand and regularly whining and writhing in pain, and biting her legs to try to relieve the pain. We immediately took her to the vet. After x-rays we discovered that she had terrible hip dysplasia at the young age of 4 months (9 out of 10). Bridger Vet Specialists, Dr. Jackson are treating Despite all the pain she is in, Stella is still the sweetest puppy that has brought great comfort and joy to our family. Stella has an irrepressible happiness and an impish love of taking our things. Her resilience and ability to share so much love despite her discomfort is truly exceptional. We also have a baby and help to support my 87 year old grandmother and mother on disability. Albert had been treated for heartworms back in Tenessee, but yesterday (12/26) on an x-ray, we found out that Albert still has active baby worms growing. This is causing him to cough up a lot of blood. We were referred by our regular vet to a specialist Dr. Winzelberg at Pieper Memorial. She says that an ultrasound and echo will help to treat Albert and that he CAN get better. He just loves to snuggle and also to tear apart stuffed animals and steal our shoes even when he's not feeling well. When we first got him into the SUV from the rescue transport, he already had his stuffed animal destroyed in our 15 minute drive home. He is such a cute and silly boy. There is not a mean bone in his body, and we just want to give him the forever home he deserves.

Leo

Leo is a 3-year-old Maine Coon in Fort Worth , TX, who needs $1,600 for Hospital stay and surgery for Urinary blockage.

Fort Worth, TX

Leo was a rescue from our neighborhood. He just showed up at a neighbors house and she listed him for adoption after no one claimed him for several months. He fell in love with us and we fell in love with him. He is very people oriented and prefers to always be with some human unlike most cats. Laying right on top of you is his favorite position. He is a huge pet of our life and our Dog Lacie’s life. They are best friends. Leo always thinks Lacie’s food is better and tries to sneak a bite in sometimes. Leo is super smart and knows how to open cabinets and doors. He loves running up and down the stairs to show Lacie how fast he is. Leo is a big cat. He weighs in about 25 pounds so when he jumps off the counter he makes a thud. I am currently unemployed due to COVID. My daughter Sarah and I are just trying to make ends meet right now. We are putting up everything we have in savings to save Leo. Leo is at Creekside Pet Care in Keller, TX. He has a urinary blockage which is a common issue with Maine Coon male cats. He is undergoing surgery and requires a hospital stay to make sure the blockage clears. Dr. Karen Fischer is his vet. She is awesome as are all the vets at Creekside. We drive quite a way because we think they are so special! Leo is the protector of the yard and garden. He keeps squirrels and snakes out of the garden. He has his own patch of cat nip he sometimes shares with the neighborhood cats. The birds and squirrels talk trash about him but he just tells them they are jealous as he admires himself in the garden mirrors.

Two Boos

Two Boos is a five-month-old kitten in Pittsburgh, PA, who needs $1,000 for leg surgery.

Fort Collins, CO • The Street Dog Coalition

I am a vet who volunteers with The Street Dog Coalition, providing care to pets of people experiencing homelessness. Two Boos belongs to a woman named Laura who was homeless, but recently found housing. Two Boos was out exploring in an unsafe area and got caught in a hole under a rock. Her rear leg broke and had to be amputated, and unfortunately, there were post-surgical complications. Two Boos has a wonderful mix of a determined spirit alongside a gentle and understanding sense of self. Her determination to heal was apparent in that she allowed me to perform multiple bandage changes and she put up with daily medications and a cone around her head 24/7. Much more so than the average feline would be willing to endure. Two Boos’ owner, who was previously homeless, does not have the funds for veterinary care. While I was able to provide a free month of medical foster care, the hospital bills had to be paid. Our PA Street Dog Coalition team is now trying to refill the kitty (pun intended). 11/12: Amputated rear right leg at Animal Friends Shelter. 11/19: Back into surgery for dehiscence and infection. Medical foster for 2 weeks. 11/22: Shivering, discharge, odor. 11/22- 11/24: Temp WNL and BAR. 11/25: Additional surgery at Humane Animal Rescue (HAR). 12/2: Continued treatment. 12/3: Recheck at HAR. Medical foster continued beyond 2 weeks. 12/19: Two Boos healed and returned home Two Boos was amazing to work with and her calm personality is likely was the reason for her eventual healing. She was also very sweet with my household pets and family members. She adapted to having only three legs and entertained us with her sweet nature and keen interest in pair of unicorn slippers.

Alexandria, VA

Suga was brought to me by a friend. Who had asked me to take care of her she was being mistreated in her former home. She was a tiny thing but full of spunk. We already had EZ they were both around the same age just about 5 months apart. They became family quite fast. Suga is definitely the life of the household. We felt she was meant to be with us since My nickname is Shug quite the coincidence. Suga Absolutely loves playing fetch. Even in the house. She can be quite demanding when her heart is set on something be it playing or getting her daily treat. It's like she has an alarm telling her it's time. She lives to play fight with EZ. And if she plays with humans she knows not to overstep and hurt you. She has this look she gives That's adorable makes your heart simply melt. Due to Covid my son hasn't work since March and I actually caught Covid in October and I am still not able to work until my symptoms completely go away. Suga is my heart I do not want to have to put her down due to cost. Please help us. Suga developed a mammanary mass on her stomach area. We are not yet sure if it's cancer or not. But she definitely needs surgery we also are not sure how many tumors she has. We have her on antibiotics. Not sure yet exactly how soon we can get the surgery done still working on locating a surgeon we have an appointment on January 12th. Suga has her moments. She sometimes likes to be alone. But then she'll want love and attention her and EZ will bumrush each other to see who can get the closest to me. Just because she's small fear not she will definitely make her way. We call her Catdog because she'll sit my shoulder get begins my head just to prove she can get the closest

Shayn is a Stray in Flushing , NY, who needs $800 for an eye infection, upper respiratory infection, feline virus & needs to be fixed, vaccinated and de-wormed.

Flushing, NY

I moved into a new apartment a couple of months ago. Upon seeing the place, the first thing I noticed before even going inside, was a stray female cat that looked to be around 3-4. The landlord then told me she is a stray who she feeds, so she hangs around in the backyard. She also told me that she just gave birth & has 2 new born kittens, one being little Shayn, who is suddenly very sick. After moving into this place, my boyfriend & I took responsibility of feeding them regularly each day. Because of this, they don’t wonder too far from home. It’s been amazing watching the little ones grow. Shayn and the rest of them usually run when trying to be pet, but since he has not been feeling well, he has let me hold him. He is such a sweetheart and deserves so much better. I’m asking for help because due to COVID I’m struggling as it is to make ends meet. I would do absolutely anything for this little guy to recover, but I don’t have the funds. I’m so heartbroken & want to save him. I wouldn’t ask for help if it wasn’t absolutely necessary. My goal was at first to get them all fixed, vaccinated, de-wormed & to be brought back to me. I ordered them an outdoor shelter since the weather is getting cold & the beds I have outside for them aren’t enough. But with Shayn being so sick, I’m doing everything in my power to speed his process along & get him medical attention. It could be a virus or URI & I need to act fast. I knew I was going to become attached to these guys one way or another. I grew especially attached to Shayn. He was fine until last Sunday morning, when he showed up with his eyes so runny they glued shut, along with his nasal airways. I cleaned him up the following day, but he was still breathing heavy, not wanting to move & not eating. He NEEDS help!

Morganton, NC

We rescued Hershey the year we got married and she’s like our first baby. We have 5 other pets and Hershey is the alpha/mom to all. My moms dog Candi started the pet name theme. Hershey was a destructive little thing at first and has grown to be our house patrol. She has the sweetest disposition and still plays like a puppy. When Hershey was young and we boarded her, we had to pay for individual playtime because she did not play well with others. So spoiled. Now the other pets groom her and fuss over her and it’s so funny to watch. She seems to have surrendered to all of this love and affection. She follows me from room to room like she might miss something really important. I borrowed from my retirement and have amassed several thousand dollars of debt through care credit. I have no more resources. Hershey seems strong to me and she does not appear ready to die. Her being healthy again would bring so much joy to us. She is our precious one. Hershey was diagnosed with oral melanoma in February and part of her lower mouth was removed in March. The cancer spread and she is receiving chemotherapy. She is treated by Dr. Sarah Collette at Upstate Vet Emergency and Specialty in Asheville. New medication has been ordered/invoiced through Fidocure/One Health Co., Inc. Hershey growls when someone else sits in her favorite chair. She runs through the house swinging her red hippo rope toy. Her walking spot is at the park and she loves car rides. She tries to go with me to work every morning. She kisses my forehead often and she has a love affair with peanut butter. She is terrified of thunder and plastic bags, and she hates noise making appliances like blenders.

Preston is a 10-week-old Domestic Shorthair in Norwalk, CT, who needs $1,685 for support care.

Norwalk, CT • Pet Animal Welfare Society

Preston is a sweet kitten just 10 weeks old who came in with his four siblings to our shelter. He was in foster a couple weeks and all the babies are very friendly. A couple days after he came to the shelter he became very lethargic and had labored breathing. We took him to the vet who determined he has pneumonia which will require round the clock fluids, antibiotics, feeding and supporting care. Poor Preston has never been part of a family. While he did spend time in foster it's not the same as having your very own special person to sleep and cuddle with. We're hoping that with the supportive care he will get at the emergency vet, he will pull through and go on to find a loving forever home of his very own. We are a small shelter with limited financial resources during the best of times. Since COVID donations are down by 50% and we are struggling to provide even basic care. Preston is just 10 weeks old and could have his whole life ahead of him, with just a little help now. Preston is so sweet and cuddly, even on the day he became ill he was purring and snuggling with us. Like all kittens he has been very playful, and good natured. With a little financial help and some luck, we hope he will go on to have a long life full of kooky behavior that makes some lucky family smile.

My dog Tyson is a 6 yr old pit mix. I rescued him at age 2 from Balt Animal Rescue & Care Shelter. At first, I couldn’t come up with a good name. My boyfriend kept calling him meat head, because he said he had a big head. But you can’t name a dog meat head! So I said, how about Tyson? Tyson is a brand of meat and it would make a cute dog’s name. He agreed, and now here we are 5 yrs later! My mom recently passed, and I’m also trying to care for her sick 14 yr old dog and 18 yr old cat. I’m asking for help with Tyson's treatments in efforts to prevent financial driven euthanasia. I’m a hard working fur mom, trying to stay afloat and save all my fur babies! He has been diagnosed with stage 4 Intermediate Cell Lymphoma. Otherwise, he is a very healthy dog. We saw an Internal Medicine Dr. and are currently in chemo treatment at an Oncologist. Atlantic Veterinary Internal Medicine & Oncology, Dr. Calo in Towson, MD. I'm also working with a Holistic Vet. I plan to go forward with chemo, as long as he remains my happy and healthy “meat head"! He LOVES to play with his ball, squeaky toys, and with his doggie girlfriends. He also enjoys sunbathing on the back deck or running up and back along the fence barking at the people mowing their lawns. His favorite place to go with his girlfriend, Sadie (pit mix also) is to a nearby park to go hiking and play in the water! Tyson will even sit on the back porch with you to watch the fireworks!

I took sweetpea on as my own. She is less then a year old and unfortunately needs to see a vet she's very sick. I do not want to have to give her up. Sweetpea is the friendliest cat never hisses never claws. She always sleeps beside me and my fiance's head and loves her belly rubs. Sweetpea was born on family day. She loves everyone. She will sleep on your lap while watching tv. Friendliest cat I have ever met love her to death. She has to always sleep on the bed or she will be upset. I had lost my job when I had my son and my fiance was just let go due to covid and I would do absolutely anything to keep my baby girl healthy and safe and happy please help us give her the life she deserves. Unfortunately her condition is permeant her mother had it and it is passed on. She will need a special diet and medications to stay healthy and happy. Sweetpea seemed healthy when she was born always joyful and happy, but one day she started getting sick thought it was something she ate but I tried 20 different foods, nothing worked. Now we need to get her help. Her favorite toy is my hair elastics. And she loves belly rubs. My favorite thing about her is she always talks to you. I always have conversations with her. She always hops in the shower right after you have just gotten out its funny and leaves little paw prints all over the place. She will always sit like a human and it's weird but it makes my day. Boo Boo

Boo Boo is a four-month-old Domestic Shorthair kitten in Green Valley, AZ, who needs $1,186 for emergency leg surgery.

Green Valley, AZ • Paws Patrol, Inc

Some sicko thought Boo Boo would make the perfect target to shoot with a BB-gun. The poor kitten was found abandoned in the Arizona desert with her littermates. Luckily a kind man found the kittens and called Paws Patrol in Green Valley. When the rescue heard about the situation, they sprang into action. Boo Boo's leg was badly infected, and he needed help immediately. > "People think it's funny to target practice, but they're destroying an animals' life. This kitten is going to suffer. He doesn't know what happened and why he will die an early death if someone did not help him. It's painful to see people do things like that," Elizabeth L. from Paws Patrol tells Waggle. Sadly, Boo Boo's injuries are so severe he needs to have his leg amputated. The rescue and Dr. Nolasco at Valley Verde Veterinarians think Boo Boo will be "kicking it" even on three legs. You'd think Boo Boo would hate people by this point in his young life, but the man who saved the kittens is also fostering Boo Boo. He reports the kitten still purrs constantly and is so kind. The rescue says the resilience of animals amazes them. "The ordeal scared us, but a loving human can go a long way," Elizabeth adds. Paws Patrol has saved nearly 3800 cats since 2006. The nonprofit organization relies on donations, especially for expensive medical cases like Boo Boo. They are grateful for any donations that can help get Boo Boo back on three feet and off to a new life where people love him.

Animal Control received 25 cats in Middletown, CT, who need $1,500 for Spay/Neuter as well as flea and heartworm treatment.

Middletown, CT

Animal Control received a call about lots of cats in a local neighborhood. No one seemed to own them and there were lots of kittens. When we checked things out, we found someone that was feeding the cats but was not actually the owner of them. We were told there were 10-12 cats and a few kittens. We are currently at 25 cats/kittens and counting including 2 pregnant moms! Luckily all of these cats and kittens are friendly and easily handled. We have only had to use traps for a few very shy kittens. Most of the adult cats are loving the attention that they are getting. They also love each other and are happy sharing their cages. They love to curl up together and squeeze into carriers to be close to each other. We will need to spay/neuter, vaccinate and test for Felv/FIV each cat. Add to that, flea and deworming treatment, antibiotics and other medications and things start to add up quickly. Many of these cats have additional issues and need lots of care. None of these cats are spayed/neutered or have had any kind of vetting. Most have roundworms and they ALL have fleas! A few have had ear infections and upper respiratory infections requiring medication. 3 so far have serious heart murmurs. One kitten had a diaphragmatic hernia and needed emergency surgery to survive! Cat Tales Inc & Pieper Veterinary Hosp have been providing excellent care. We are getting to know these cats better with each day. Some are very vocal with us and eager to come out of their cages to be held and scratched. Some are playful with each other and toys. Some of the kittens are learning to play and getting more comfortable with us. They all have individual personalities and are very sweet!

So they were mainly my daughter's cats, but after a while me and Meatball developed a bond and he became like my son and best friend. It's just me and Meatball, he is all I have in this world. I treat him as if he is my son. He is very spoiled for what I can afford as I am disabled. He was diagnosed with diabetes last year and needs insulin twice a day. He was separated from Jasper 2 years ago and ever since he doesn't play much but I try to play with him all the time. He is my little king. My Meatball is my best friend. I am disabled and am barely surviving. I wasn't when I got meatball and I will never get rid of him. I am worried sick for him suffering. I would appreciate any help. He has gotten matting due to his diabetes and also needs a few areas shaved. He visited Small Animal Hospital. He had to have 2 teeth pulled last year and now again they said he has 2 lesions which are like cavities and they are probably causing him pain. I wonder if this is why he will bite and just hold it sometimes lately. I am unable to get credit and my vet will not accept payments. Since his diabetes diagnosis he has not been grooming himself and has gotten matting. He says "yeah" when I ask him if he's hungry. He does a cute chirping sound when he is being talkative. I always say he is more like a dog than a cat. He is very lovable and cuddles alot. He is very large and loves to try to catch lizards and bugs. He used to love to watch squirrels and birds but where we live now he doesn't have much to look at and I want to catify my home but it costs so much.

They are almost a year old now and have become each other’s shadow. Where there’s one, there’s the other. They are such beautiful souls. These sweet girls are “one”. Nikki was found by Animal Control after being ran over. Holli was found by us at a Bank. She was flea infested. Iced got to adopt both of them about 3 months apart. My boyfriend just had Rotator Cuff surgery on Monday Oct 19th. He’s expected to be out of work for 4 weeks. I’m permanently disabled. We need to get these girls spayed. Nikki was a month old and ran over by a car. Animal Control just happened to witness it, picked her up, brought her to the Vet. The Vet put a plate and screws in her hip and put her up for adoption. We were able to adopt her. Holli was dumped off at a bank. The teller told us she was there a few hours. She was flea infested & ran to me when I called for her. These two girls make me smile so much when they crawl up on me and look into my eyes for some living. It’s incredible. They’re long lanky legs run over to us and they look into our eyes with they’re gorgeous souls. Oh how precious. They live to sleep side by side or weaved into each other. Ivan is a 2-year-old Chihuahua Mix in Austin, TX, who needs $1,400 for Lateral suture + MPL.

Austin, TX

Ivan was rescued from a family of hoarders with a large number of other dogs, all of whom were abused. He weighed under 8 lbs, had heart worms and hookworms and very little hair. We found out very early on that he also had a bone growth abnormality. Although we know he is around two years old and has adult teeth, his X-rays show the bones of a puppy that have not fused together. Ivan is a joy to have in our home. He has bonded with me and follows me wherever I go. He plays fetch with the kids in the backyard and falls asleep on the couch between my husband and me on family movie nights. He is also a great at cuddling. He loves to sit next to me or at my feet while I work on the computer, nap with sick kids and tunnel under blankets. COVID has been hard on us. I had to take time off over the summer due to stress and no childcare -- which meant no money coming in from my freelance writing work. We have used up our savings and can't afford this surgery. Ivan likely inherited luxating patellas from the Chihuahua side of his lineage. He has now had two surgeries. He was about 3 weeks from being done with crate rest after the first surgery when I let my youngest son take him out back for a potty break. Unfortunately, they always play rough and Ivan ended up running and hurting his other leg. Both times his knee needed stabilizing and had ACL tears. He is smart, loyal and protective. He barks and charges the door whenever the doorbell rings, even when he was only walking on three legs. He loves to carry soccer balls in his mouth that are bigger than he is and play tug-of-war. Before his knee injuries, he even loved to go jogging. His favorite place to sleep (because he's not allowed in our bed) is under the bed right under me.

Ava passed away in 2018, leaving our family and Big Stink feeling empty and alone since they had never been apart. Big Stink sleeps in our bed with us at night. He loves going for walks and running around at the ball field across the street. He loves his ball and playing fetch.... but rarely will let you have the ball. Also, loves the tug toy. Tug toys are his absolute favorite! Him and his mama would tug each other all day long. Due to the coronavirus, lost wages and spike in expenses we are unable to afford the cost of surgery for our dog. I cannot express how lost we would be if we didn't have him. He is the best dog ever. To come home and not see him waiting in the window would be devastating. Diane Wittner and Leslie Personett at Fur and Feathers Veterinary Care will be doing the surgery to remove a Mast Cell Tumor on Big Stinks back leg. This needs to be removed as soon as possible before it starts affecting other parts of his body, like his organs. This will definitely give him a longer life with us. He has a chair he sits in so he can look out the window. He is always there in the window when we arrive home to greet us. If he is hungry, he paws his food bowl and lays next to it with paw in bowl. The day he came home he was already such a wonderful addition to our home, I can’t imagine not seeing my daughter light up every time she lays her eyes on him, waking up without him smiling back at me and kisses before bed. From the time Cory wakes up to the time he goes to bed he’s going 100 miles an hour he brings so much joy and happiness and energy to our home. He’s about the bravest little soul I've ever seen; he’s afraid of nothing that might have got him in trouble this time. He still has so much energy and love to give. I am giving every dime I have to try to save him. And I will continue to do everything in my power to keep this baby alive. I know times are tough but anything will be greatly appreciated. I woke up this morning 10/5 and found Cody in my closet struggling to breathe. After rushing him to the ER vet, I found out he was electrocuted through the night by chewing on a cord. His lungs are filled with fluid. He has a 50/50 chance but I’m going to give my 1000% trying to save him so he has another chance at this life. Cody is a unique little rascal, most of the time you can’t tell if he is looking at you or 5 feet to the right. He has the most precious, I guess you could say, the opposite of crossed eyes. Titan is literally a mommas boy! He follows me everywhere I go and he sleeps with me every night, he literally sleeps under the cover with his head on my pillow! He is my best friend. He is so sweet and loving, he follows his sissy everywhere too! I can take him anywhere; he doesn’t know a stranger. He gets everyone’s attention. He has been a blessing to our household. We love him dearly. I’m a Flight Attendant and hours are cut due to Covid, so to pay for this surgery is impossible right now. But, I just can’t watch him suffer, it’s been since March but just now steady off his leg. Thank you for any help. Titan had both his legs broke at Barkefellers when he was 5 months old, the owner promised when he needed this surgery he would pay. Well two years later he needs the surgery and he won’t pay. He suggested I go to the VCA Care Center so I did. They have all his records. I have had an attorney reach out to the owner Rick Coffey and he won’t respond. It’s sad because Titan cannot use his leg now. Titan and his sister came into my life at a time when I needed them most. I didn’t know how dogs could have an impact on you, but my brother passed away it was traumatic for me. When I later learned that my dogs were born on his death day, I knew it was meant to be! Titan has been a support for me; knowing he is always home waiting on me and always happy to see me means the world to me.

Sedona is a 3-year-old Golden Labrador in Maricopa, AZ, who needs $2,000 for Cyst Removal of Mammory.

Maricopa, AZ

I found this dog alone in the Arizona desert. I took her into my home. I started to notice that her nipple was enlarged. I took her to my vet and she did a needle sample test on the site. It came back not showing cancer but a biopsy was never done. We have a Cairn Terrier and they both get along well. The are best buddies. Sedona has adapted well to being in our home. I don't know much about her as she was a stray. I think she was abandoned when the owner saw what was wrong with her. I love her sweet way in the house and desperately want to help her. This is an unexpected cost and I have to pay my own bills. I just don't have extra cash to afford this. I had my hours cut due to covid. I am in healthcare and due to a lack of clients afraid to come in my hours are limited. I never want to see any animal suffer. I asked the vet if I could make payments and the vet declined. I don't have that kind of cash. I need help. I love animals. This dog is loyal, protective and sweet natured. She loves toys, we call them her babies. She walks all over the house with them in her mouth and protects them as though they were real. She picks one favorite toy a day and it is the cutest thing to see. She makes me smile and fills my heart with happiness

Pepper

Pepper is a 2-year-old Domestic Shorthair in Orangevale, CA, who needs $2,000 for Oral Surgery/Teeth Extraction for advanced Stomatitis.

Orangevale, CA

Pepper was an abandoned stray who approached me in the street one day. He was so emaciated that it pained me to look, he was drooling green from an obvious bad infection in his mouth. I brought him immediately to the ER where he was given IV fluids, a large dose of antibiotics, steroids, and pain meds. He was diagnosed with Stomatitis, a very painful disease that requires oral surgery. Pepper is still very new in my home, I found him recently in a not so good neighborhood, hungry and dehydrated. He has adapted quite well, he never leaves my side when I am home and is very determined to become friends with my other 2 cats! He is very friendly with every human who meets him, in spite of being severely neglected by his previous owners. I require assistance because the cost of the surgery is more than the cost of my entire monthly income. I applied for Care Credit and was denied. Pepper was diagnosed with stomatitis. I brought him in off of the streets and it is already pretty advanced, as he was roaming the streets un-treated for so long. He will require all of his teeth to be extracted. He was seen at VCA Mueller Pet Medical Center and Pet Inn as an emergency patient. Pepper is a very affectionate kitty, he actually hugs me when I pick him up! My other 2 cats are not used to his presence quite yet, but Pepper is very friendly and never growls or hisses at them...he only wants to play! He loves to meow (high pitched kitten meow) and chirp! He tries to play, as well, in spite of the pain he is in.

Misce

Misce is a 11-year-old Domestic Cat in Bronx, NY, who needs $2,000 for Nosectomy.

Bronx, NY

Misce came into my life 11 years ago when he was found in the woods of New Jersey. My cousins were caring for him & asked if I was interested in caring for him overnight. Like a newborn, I had to bottle feed, burp, and help him go to the bathroom. Misce was a good kitten but I couldn’t keep him. When cousins asked if I wanted to take him I mouthed ‘NO’ but I heard myself saying “YES”. Misce is patient and very distinguished. He is my first ‘gentleman’ but not my last. He was very good buddies with my Maltese, Princess & I've adopted two other cats that crossed my path throughout the years. Misce is a good 'Big Bro" and a realist. He takes in what he sees & goes with it. Protective of the home & not afraid to show who's the boss, especially if you are one to cause trouble. I work as a Substitute Paraprofessional for Children with Special Needs & although I was fortunate to sustain work during the start of the pandemic, I was not offered to continue in the summer. In the interim, my father passed & I've been helping my mother with the expenses The beginning of the year, I noticed something on Misce's nose. Looking closely I saw what at first I thought was a blister. I was concerned, planning to schedule a vet visit. Unfortunately, 2020 took a sudden stop for us all. It took some time but the appointment determined that it was a growth & it had grown causing Misce to sneeze more, as the growth was starting to block his nasal passages Misce loves to drink water. Whenever he needs a fresh bowl, he jumps onto the counter or the toilet whenever I'm near the sink. This is the 'Misce Move'; it makes me smile everyday. Recently, he has been playful by reaching out to me whenever I pass by him. He is so fresh & I remind him to be careful as he tends to get his claws stuck into my pants. When he needs comfort, he like to snuggle.

Sweetie Peepers

Sweetie Peepers is a 9-year-old Domestic Shorthair in Sacramento, CA, who needs $925 for Dental Surgery.

Sacramento, CA

Sweetie Peepers is a sweet kitty girl who showed up in our neighborhood as a stray Oct 2015. Friendly and affectionate, she was a lost or abandoned pet. No collar/chip so no owner was found. Like a white cat I had as a child, she caught my eye. Seeming hungry for food and affection I started feeding and showing her love in return. Neighbors enjoy her too but I think she loves me the most. Several neighbors and myself feed and care for her. We provide a warm bed on the porch in the winter, and plenty of cold water and shade in the summer. One neighbor lets her inside their house at times, but she prefers to be an outdoor kitty. She loves the large yards in our neighborhood and has her special spots she likes to lounge and seeks us daily to be loved & petted. She wants to be our pet. Sweetie is a loving kitty who deserves comfort and the best life possible. I'm an at-home mother of two who doesn't earn any income, and my husband, who is not a "cat person" isn't supportive of spending for this. Please don't let Sweetie wait any longer for her extraction. Her canine tooth had a broken tip when she showed up as a stray. I had her tooth evaluated by a vet in 2016 to see if it was ok, and a cleaning w/ possible extraction was recommended. Cost ranged high. She needs a full cleaning under anesthesia and extraction of the fractured tooth, which is much worse now. Surgery will require x-rays so my plan for a low cost rescue group surgery fell through. I really love this little kitty! She's a sweet girl who flops over on her side and wants her belly rubbed up to under her chin while she purrs. She found and adopted me! The best pets are the ones who choose YOU. She keeps her soft white/gray coat very clean and has sweet multicolored white/pink/black pads on her paws. She runs up to me meowing for attention with her tail up and rubs against me.

Teddy Bear Cuba

Teddy Bear Cuba is a 13-year-old Havanese in Maple Ridge, BC, who needs $980 for Lumpectomy.

Maple Ridge

Teddy was a gift/rescue from my son 7 years ago. He was rescued from people that kept him locked in a crate for 6 years. He was a mess. Hair so matted and long to the floor. Not fixed. Unsocialized. He is so loving now and don't like to be anywhere but with me. He is the first dog, small dog I have ever seen who never barks. When I got Teddy, he had a small cherry size lump on his front leg by his chest. The vet said as long as it doesn't grow, it would be okay. In the last 6 month's it has grown to the size of a large plum and it seems to irritate him so much. He is chewing on it all the time. I guess its really sore for him. He has torn all the hair off it. I'm on a fixed income, OAS, guaranteed Income supplement, CPP & Safer. Less then $1700 a month.. I just turned 65 so this income has been since November 2019. People ask me about the lump everyday. Always mention its getting bigger. I need so much for him to be comfortable To remove the lump from his leg. Teddy is a very healthy 13 year old. He is a vegetarian dog, Royal Canine Vegetarian dog food, cans and dry. He loves it. He seems to be allergic to every dog food I have tried. This one is great. He has the energy of a 5 years old. But he does like to sit beside me and watch TV or beside me at my computer. Teddy use to have a best friend named Molly, but she passed away about 5 years ago. He does have a friend named Lola a couple of houses down from me in my townhouse complex. He doesn't seem to like male dogs, just the girls. He really loves going to the groomers to see the lady and get a hair cut and bath.

We got Bacon from a family member. He was only 2/3 months old when we got him. He is currently 8 months old. He loves our home as much as we love having him here. He's an American Bull Dog, tri-color, lovable and the life of this home. We miss so much already. We hope he gets the help he needs so we can bring him home. Bacon loves being around our family, he loves playing outdoors, getting cuddled, running around with our kids. Always a happy pup. we need our baby back home and happy as always. I don't know what we would do without our Bacon, he's part of this family. My kids already miss him and keep asking for him. Our poor Bacon got very ill and we unfortunately don't have all the funds to get him better. It would mean the world to get help and we'd highly appreciate it. We recently have had many bills including mortgage which is why we don't have the funds. We brought Bacon to the vet because he wasn't being himself, he wasn't eating or walking and he had been peeing blood which worried us a lot. Turns out he has pneumonia and needs treatment.. He is currently at Bear Valley Hospital in Apple Valley, CA getting treated. He's currently getting antibiotics and laser treatment to see if he gets better. Our bacon is our life he's the smallest of our fur babies. We got him when he was just 2 months old. He loves playing with our two boys age 2 and 6. He loves sleeping with us and playing catch. He was always such a happy pup and now it hurts to see him sick and weak. We just want our baby back and happy.

Patches

Patches is a 8-year-old Unknown in Private, WA, who needs $239 for Clavamox and Onsior.

Private, WA

Patches' mother was a stray who found me at a time when I was living alone and really wishing for a cat. She meowed so consistently outside the apartment door, that she convinced me her owner had to be in the apartment building. After an hour went by (everyone could hear her), no one claimed her, so I did. She was very skinny and hungry. Then I found out she was pregnant and Patches was born. Patches is a very sweet cat, just like his mother. He also likes to cuddle on the bed next to her and will occasionally lick her ears. He has also lived with large dogs before and has picked up a few habits from them. Such as also wagging his tail when he's happy, not just when he's annoyed like most cats. I've been laid off on March 16. At first, I had a lot of trouble trying to qualify for regular unemployment, which I didn't. Then finally, Pandemic Unemployment came out and that was working until I got sick with COVID myself. Then I didn't qualify again and lost all income. Patches urinated a significant amount of blood on 7/26/20. I took him to Greenwood Animal Hospital to see Raj Garhwal and he got a urinalysis, ultrasound, and two medications: Clavamox and Onsior. Patches had an emergency UTI and crystals. His urine was too alkaline also, and the vet gave me a bag of cat food (Royal Canin) for urinary health that he should be switched to. Patches loves to go outside. So I take him for walks occasionally with a cat harness and leash. He also loves to watch people, cars, and animals very intensely out the window. I crack the shades so he can see outside and he perches up on the windowsill, then hunches over to get as good a look as possible with laser intensity, tail wagging.

We rescued July of 2015 (5mo). She had a cast on her left leg from being stepped on as a pup and no one doing anything about it. Rescue agency had to re-adjust leg, place in 2 rods, & multiple screws. Kyva has been with us for 5yrs, cast free & is one of the happiest, most lovable dogs you will meet. While scared of everything she is also curious about everything & has grown to be a Daddy's girl. Kyva is our furbaby. She was our only dog until 3yrs ago. If she is not snuggled with her dad, she is snuggled with her sister. Kyva likes to wrestle with her sister, play tag & when hyper will run in big circles. She is lovable to all family members, loves giving kisses, & is extremely bonded to my husband & will climb on his shoulders & lick his bald head whenever given the chance. COVID-19 has extremely impacted my husband's ministry & his counseling business. At this time we are seeking help for her dental extractions. We would be joyful in knowing that not only can she eat comfortably, but she will have better breath for a long happy life! While we have spent many resources caring for Kyva's leg, our current medical situation is with her teeth. We know dogs don't have the best breath but we never expected that her breath was due to her impacted teeth that never fell out during her puppy years. Manatee Humane Society has expressed she has multiple upper & lower teeth that are infected & need to be extracted for overall health. Kyva gets very happy when we are going for a ride because most of the time she gets to go visit her cousins. She can often be found laying in weird positions or acting like an ostrich by hiding her head only. She is special to us because of her story & while the hard to her leg was tragic, today she doesn't let it stop her! She will often hold her leg up to get sympathy treats!

Zelda was rescued from the Navajo reservation and brought to Underdog Rescue and Rehab. When this 8 month old, husky mix girl arrived at the Ranch, we knew she needed emergency medical attention immediately. X-rays showed that she had a broken hip and would require surgery and therapy to recover. 6 weeks post-surgery, she now enjoys life with her foster mom and furry sister and now new family! Zelda was in a foster home for 6 weeks. She loves to play with other dogs. Any time there is a hand nearby, Zelda will find a way to receive some love-check out her video meeting her new fur-ever family! She has a morning routine of going in and out of the dog door continuously and loves parading around the house with her stuffed chicken. Zelda is gaining confidence and is such a goofy gal. Underdog Rescue has saved over 954 dogs. We never turn a dog away because of their medical needs. We are a small rescue that relies on our supporters to help us through financially hard times. COVID, and multiple intense medical cases last month mean we need your support. Mill Creek Animal Hospital has been treating Zelda since she came into Underdog's care. Dr. Scott performed surgery on Zelda's hip to stabilize it. Now, the new bone isn't growing correctly and Dr. Scott will need to perform another corrective surgery. Zelda has been vaccinated, dewormed, and spayed. She is ready for her adopters home, but medical costs and treatments still remain. Zelda is a survivor. We don't know her past or how her hip was broken, but she has given us the chance to save her. She trusts us completely with her happiness and health and we cannot let her down. There are a variety of ways she could have broken her hip including at the hands of humans, but regardless, this girl has so much love to give and we will support her recovery until she is adopted.

Ellis, Yuri, and Evie are 4-week-old English Bulldog pups in Providence, RI, who need $2,000 for eye surgery.

Warwick, RI • Rhode Home Rescue

Rhode Home Rescue says what happened to these three English Bulldog puppies is an atrocity. Ellis, Yuri, and Evie, just weeks old, are the victims of breeding gone bad. "A guy walked into a vet's office and wanted them euthanized," Nadine with Rhode Home Rescue tells Waggle. "He tried to breed these puppies, and something went wrong. They were unable to be sold for profit, so he dumped them." Someone at the vet's office called the rescue, which immediately agreed to save the pups and pay for their care. "I told them we'll take them, do not put them down," Nadine says. "I couldn't; I couldn't even think of these poor babies, who didn't even have a chance to start their life euthanized. They all have vision problems and need surgery, but there are all sorts of things we can do to help do Rhode Home Rescue has partnered up with True North Rescue and Transport to help these babies. Rhode Home Rescue is a 501(c)3 dog rescue that relies wholly on donations to help neglected, abused and abandoned animals in RI and in various parts of the country. These puppies have received minimal vetting care and will need a full workup to determine the severity of their blindness, genetic and other issues. One puppy is in extreme pain due to an enlarged eyeball that will need to be removed. Others are suffering from lack of vision and will need a full work-up as well as to whether their vision can be saved. They are at Florence Animal Clinic. We don't know much about these pups yet, but we are doing everything we can to ensure they can go on to live happy and normal lives as the adorable puppies they were destined to be. We could not stand by and watch these puppies euthanized without a chance at recovering from their genetic deformities.

Pearl came to be a part of our Family just about 8 yrs ago. I have ALWAYS wanted and English Bulldog for the longest time. Then one day my wife wanted to go somewhere. We ended up going to meet Pearl. She was the last of the litter and immediately ran up to me when I walked in. That was special because apparently she didn’t like and ran away others who tried to approach her. Pearl has always been special in our family. Shes timid around other people. My wife wasn’t able to have children so our fur babies were her babies in addition to my daughter from another relationship. Pearl LOVES kids. She gets timid around adults but welcomes ANY KIDDO. She loves to cuddle with me until she gets a little to warm then she has to go and cool off. She has her own spot on the couch Well as most people’s situation. The coronavirus has affected my work. I was without a job for a couple months. Almost lost my car, Home. I was lucky enough to find a job. I have been playing catch up ever since. Even if I wanted to I can’t afford the treatment unfortunately I am a veterinary assistant and Pearl is showing signs of having a pyometra. Which would require a surgery to have the infection removed from her uterus. We have not been able to actually take her to the vet yet but I will be taking her ASAP once I get the money to do so. I will be taking her to Animal Medical Center. This is a life threatening situation if not take care of soon. Anyone that has had an English Bulldog or anyone that has spent any time around an English Bulldog know that they are the most unique and funniest pets to have. Doesn’t matter what kind of day I have. I can come home and she knows I’ve had a rough day and knows exactly how to make it better. She is my best friend and ABSOLUTELY loves to cuddle and just relax with me on the couch or in bed.

My mom bought me bailey when I graduated High school 14 years ago. I have had him my whole adult life. He has always been a loving and sweet dog. He's only 3 pounds. He's a very calm dog. I live i n a nice house and rent from my best friend who is also my house mate. We spend a lot of time with him. Covid-19 has affected me but I have started a new job as of a week ago. Bailey sleeps with me in bed a majority of the time. Bailey is around two other small dogs during the day and has companionship. He likes being on my lap or right next to me on a regular basis, If I'm working you can find him next to my house mate or on her lap. He calls for a lot of individual attention and care. He loves everyone. I have been affected by Covid-19 and was out of week until a week ago. I recently got a work assisting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a group home setting. The lack of work is why I am just now getting back on my feet financially. Bailey was tested and had severe glucose deterioration. He has been given a steroid and is eating baby food but requires a procedure (ultrasound) to be done to see if he has tumors that are contributing to his glucose loss. A biopsy could be needed. The name of the hospital is Virginia Veterinary Centers. The name of the Dr. is Wendy Watts. He loves beef treats and various fruits. He just recently started jumping from the bed to a chair to get down or he uses doggy stairs at my mothers house. He really loves on you all the time and wants to be against you feeling your comfort. He loves to sunbath or roll around in the grass and makes sure to drink lots of water as it drips on the floor from his mouth:D. Everyone adores Bailey.

Pita was the baby of one our cats who unfortunately passed away a few years ago. For a cat who has dental issues, she is very sweet. She is a indoor/outdoor cat and likes to drink milk water. We currently live in a 2 bedroom apartment thst consists of myself, my husband, our 2 kids and 2 other cats. When she's not in pain and feeling good, she will ask for attention. Nuzzle against you so that you will pet her. She will purr a lot when she is happy. She hangs out and will get along with the other cats and our kids. She loves to be hidden or buried under blankets. Sometimes when she goes out, she will make you chase her before she comes to you. We want Puta to be healthy and able to eat without pain. We feel so bad that we can't help her ourselves. My husband and I have both been laid off due to Covid19. We feel we have let her down and deeply sadden that we are helpless in helping one of our family member. Prior to her dental issues, she was the chunky monkey of our house. Because of her issues, she will often pay at her face and run away in pain. She constantly drools and has very bad breath. Because of the pain, she shy's away from eating. Sometimes you have to coax her into eating. We contacted Wailuku Pet Clinic in the hopes that they can help us. When she is feeling good, her playful personality will come out. She will playfully swat at you if you pass by her and not pet her. It's like she is saying hey don't forget about me, I would love to be petted now! It makes me laugh when she does that. She loves to be scratched on her head and purr like a happy kitty!

We recently took her to get spayed and she almost immediately got an abscess and deep infection. A couple days later she had to undergo emergency surgery. Her wounds opened up due to the infection spreading and a new wound has opened up on the inner part of her leg to drain. She is in need of another surgery to clean out her wound and place a drainage tube in. It has been a very long week and a half. She is currently on antibiotics and we are doing everything we can to help her and make sure she has the best care ever. My son has been extremely upset and told me he wishes I never took her to get fixed. It's sad to see Monkey not being active and always laying down. We were told this shouldn't and doesn't happen.
