Nova is a 6 year old Siberian Husky in Verona, PA, who needs $2,000 for ACL.

Verona, PA

I have Rescued 3 Huskies. This was not a plan but to save them from going to shelter or be put down by owners. I became friends with ari and she Rescued so many Huskies. She helped to rescue these 3 I took in. But my income doesn't allow me to afford the surgeries. I'm on disability income. Any amount put toward this surgery helps tremendously. Pearl hospital in Ben Avon pa area wanted to do consultants. It's 223 for one visit and with diagnostic to see what kind of surgery. If the surgery is recommended for acl tear in her right leg then it can go up to 6k Nova is extremely shy and very friendly never once try to instigate any fight. She's always calm loves people. The former owner is a biker and his relationship was broken up for this reason giving her up. She's so lovable and so kind you'd want to keep her forever. I'm on disability right now until further future decision to go work again or not. Someone ran a forklift over my foot and was in hospital for 1 month..

Kenai is a 9 year old Chihuahua in McDonald, PA, who needs $2,000 for Radiation Therapy.

McDonald, PA

We got Kenai while stationed in Alaska. We are married with 4 kids and 2 other dogs, he has been with us 9 amazing years and is the best dog we ever have owned. My dog suffered a perforated bladder and was diagnosed with cancer that hasn't spread yet. His bladder has healed and we are providing chemo, radiation therapy and medicine. We have incurred 35k in medical bills for him in 2 weeks, we have drained our savings. I am retired Air Force with severe PTSD and Kenai has been key to keeping that in control. Kenai once chased off a Grizzly bear 20x his size when we were hiking in Alaska, he is fearless and loves our family immensely, we have never left his side, he comes everywhere with us. We had a decent chunk of cash saved over the last 20 years and went through that in 2 weeks, we are now maxing credit. The sheer cost of the procedures to provide him the best is high. He has several good years left with treatment and we will do whatever it takes!

Chief

Chief is a 5 year old German Shepherd Dog in Pittsburgh , PA, who needs $2,000 for Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy.

Pittsburgh, PA

I bought Chief from a breeder and I took him because they said nobody else wanted him. Chief went in the training to be a service dog and saved my life by waking me up when my sugar was so low I would've went into a coma had he not. That dog is my entire life. He got his name, Chief from my son who was a chief of police. I lost my son four months ago to a horrible traumatic death.. Chief tore his CCL and is suffering terribly in pain. He can't put very much weight on it. I took him to his regular vet at animal friends told me he needs to see a orthopedic surgeon. I took him to the orthopedic surgeon who said he needs surgery. which cost $6800. I have to get him this surgery and I need help with the finances Chief is such a special dog. He is so very smart. He saved my life. I actually owe him my life. Now I need to help make his better and get him out of pain. He's so protective he doesn't let me out of his sight for a minute. Like I said earlier, I lost my son a couple months ago and anything that I had put away for emergencies went on his memorial service. So financially, I'm suffering right now. I'm disabled and only live on SSI so my finances are very tight.

Pippin is a 5 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi in Rochester, NY, who needs $2,000 for Emergency IVD Hemilaminectomy Surgery.

Rochester, NY

Pippin is a 5 year old corgi who has been a member of our family since he was 12 weeks old. He is sweet, full of energy, and loves playing with his two human sisters! Pippin lives in our home in western NY and is a favorite playmate to all of his cousin doggies that live nearby. On Tuesday 5/7, Pippin abruptly lost function of his back legs and his ability to urinate. After being seen at two emergency vet facilities in western NY, Pippin has been transferred to BluePearl Pet Hospital in Pittsburg, PA where he needs emergency surgery to repair his spinal cord and hopefully restore his ability to walk and void urine. One of the things that makes Pippin special is that his left ear sometimes goes floppy! Even though his legs are tiny, he has a HUGE personality. He loves playing fetch, and is quite good at catching Frisbees mid-air. If you blow bubbles for him, you will be his best friend forever. On Monday 5/6, I had major abdominal surgery. Our family was not expecting to have to pay for two major surgeries in one week. We were given the choice between the emergency surgery for Pippin, which would save his life and restore function, or humane euthanasia.

Nova is a 3 month old Great Pyrenees in Valencia, PA, who needs $2,000 for Orthopedic Surgery.

Valencia, PA

Hi everyone this is nova she is our rescue we got about a little over a month ago! We actually weren't looking for another dog as we already have 2! I scrolled across her on facebook and instantly fell in love. She had a very rough start as she was rescued along with the rest of her litter from a mud pit where the pups were basically abandoned. Her name is nova but i call her puppy girl This is an urgent situation as shes most likely gonna need surgery due to an accident, her and the others were playing and she fell off the couch with our other two and instantly started whining. Radiologist said there was a break and her elbow is dislocated. We will be going to blue pearl per hospital for surgery consult, we got a rough estimate as to what the total cost will be. Overall for us she came from a bad situation and she is the biggest sweetheart despite what she had to go through. Shes a belgian malinios x great pyrenees mix so she loves to go outside and run and play and she is already great with commands. Shes just overall the biggest love bug. Her and my 1 year old child are best of friends and i hate that they cannot play at the moment. We honestly hit a rough patch and my boyfriend’s past check wasn't very good. We got behind on bills due to making sure our 1 year old child and dogs were fed. It would mean legit everything to make sure nova is going to be ok

Pittsburgh, PA

Augie, short for Augustus as he was born August 29th, joined our family December 1st of 2023. We were approaching one year after having to put our beloved Chewy to rest after 14 long, happy years as his heart disease became more than he could bear. We were ready to open our hearts to love another pup. We loved Chewy so much, and decided another mini schnauzer was the route we wanted to go. Augie instantly fit right into our home and hearts. It was hard for us to keep his crate training going at night because he gets so snuggly. He is so sweet and friendly to everyone (including 4 legged friends). Our cat Izzy might say otherwise, but she is warming up to him and his curiosities. They give the occasional boop of nose kisses! Augie is adventurous! He has loved the outdoors from day one-rain, shine or snow! He’s learning we get to explore more if we don’t try to play with the leash and instead take a walk! He also loves playing soccer! His other favorite toy is a fox stuffy, which we have named ‘floppy friend’ as it flops around in his mouth often! We found out during Augie’s 1st vet check up, he had a grade 3 heart murmur, which warranted a follow up by cardiology. Following his exam by Dr. Sikorska at Pittsburgh Veterinary Cardiology, it was found that Augie was born with a heart defect, specifically severe pulmonary valve stenosis. This would require surgery to give Augie the best chance at a long, happy life. We were not expecting such news with a new puppy. We are still financially recovering from our previous pups end of life vet expenses, as well as still grieving. We want to do all we can for Augie to be healthy, and to be able to enjoy many years to come as a family.

Pittsburgh, PA

When a coworker needed to rehome Squirtle, I knew from one look into his sweet eyes that he was meant to be home with me. After suffering two miscarriages, Squirt found a forever place in my heart. I love sleeping with momma and stealing socks from the laundry room! Sometimes I’ll just lay by the window and watch birds in the trees or bark at the deer! When Squirt wants something you’ll know it! He talks and grunts like a little piggy! He loves treats - anything edible really. He loves his sister and snuggling with her at night, which he can’t do currently while in so much pain Squirtle was walking down the carpeted basement steps and following mommy to do laundry, when right toward the bottom of the steps, his little leg got caught underneath himself and he tumbled down the last three steps. Just hard enough and at the right angle to break his elbow. Now, he is needing emergency surgery to repair and avoid complete amputation. This unexpected cost is not a situation I can afford at all. I spent $900 last night just for pain management and a splint for Squirt to be able to rest through the night. He’s in a great deal of pain and discomfort. Mommy sat by his side all night keeping him from rolling

I have had Archie for 3 months. He is a rescue. He sleeps with me. He is 5 months old now. Loves to play with toys. Loves to go for walks. Loves to chase birds. He is spoiled just like how I spoil all our dogs where I work at Camp Bow Wow. He is loved by my roommate and I. He likes car rides and camping..... My dog is a puppy and I have not had her that long. I laugh at watching him play with his toys throwing up in air. He is hilarious! He only barks when someone comes to the door. I had no choice but to use Care Credit and I can't afford the payments. On January 15, 2024, the doorbell rang, and Archie jumped off the couch wrong and broke his leg and had to go to Bluepearl Pittsburgh North Animal Clinic. I work with dogs and they are my passion! This has put stress on me, not being able to pay the bills. Every little bit will help. Thank you! I do not make alot of money and sure had no idea how much a surgery would cost! Getting this paid off will be a big relief! I was given stairs, for Archie, so this doesn't happen again!

Nash is a 2-year-old French Bulldog in Greensburg, PA, who needs $2,000 for Hemilaminectomy.

Greensburg, PA

Nash’s sweet soul came into my life after a hard time period that I was experiencing personally. He came home to me fresh from Nashville, TN (hint- where he got his name 😉) and his personality began to shine. Ever since then, we have been inseparable. We currently are living to make ends meet, and need help financially with his bills from his IVDD surgery. Nash and I are inseparable. Where I am, Nash is - Vice versa. He is man of the house, holding true to this role. He will greet anyone with a lot of snorting and sniffing (maybe slobber and fur too), but is a ham for attention and will give so much love. He loves a good chew toy, belly scratches, cuddling with mom, and his treats. We spend a lot time snuggling as much as we possibly can. Very early on Nash developed his ability to scream. He will scream for attention (drama king), when he feels lonely, and when he wants something. It may be annoying to some but it brings me joy. Nash is so sweet and I feel he is just as intuitive with others around him by offering himself to others for extra cuddles. I am seeking help with a chronic condition called IVDD. Nash was seen at Blue Pearl Pittsburgh in the emergency department after losing his mobility in his back legs. Thankfully neurology was able to fit him into their schedule to further assess him which determined surgery is the best option for him. Surgery is slated for 1/26/24 at Blue Pearl Pittsburgh. With surgery costing an estimate of 10,000 not including medication or follow up, this expense is unexpected and I’m currently not in a good place financially to pay the full amount.

Meeko is a 2-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in Pittsburgh, PA, who needs $2,000 for Foreign Body Surgery and Post-Op Complications.

Pittsburgh, PA

Meeko is the baby when it comes to our family of 6, cats and dogs that is! Meeko will be 3 this April and we have had him since he was a few months old. He is quite a character and a little piglet. He hates hot weather (much like his mom). He loves spending his days playing ball with his brother and pappy. He loves food more than anything in the world and enjoys a good nap throughout the day. Meeko starts his day by announcing breakfast to his older sister and brother. He gets very excited! He spends his days hanging out on the couch with his brother or playing on the floor with his pap. He is very close to his 2 brothers, one of which is another Cavalier named Max and a cat named Kylo. At night he sleeps in bed with his pap, doggy brother and sister and sometimes even Kylo! Meeko is super silly. He makes silly faces, and sometimes has silly hair. He is so sweet and wants so badly to be a lap dog even though he is on the heavier side. He loves a good belly rub. He has the saddest puppy eyes sometimes and those are the moments I wish I could take any pain or sadness away. He is a great brother to his dog and cat siblings. Meeko had surgery for foreign body at BluePearl Pittsburgh North on Saturday. He did poorly post-op and suffered from regurgitation and inappetence. By Tuesday he was doing better and set up to be discharged later that day. That afternoon he became lethargic and regurgitated several times. Doctors in the ER and Surgery Dept found an internal abscess. He had to have a second surgery. The cost of initial surgery was all we could put on CareCredit but our bill keeps increasing due to furthering need of care. We miss him dearly and he is fighting so hard. Such a sweet angel that deserves to come home safe and sound.

Connellsville, PA

Salem was a stray outside that we took in as a kitten and we had no clue the impact he’d make on our lives. He is about 5 years old. He is like a child to us that we love so dearly. He lives at home with my girlfriend and I. We make sure to give him lots of love day in and day out. Salem loves to sleep on his tower and play with all his toys. He likes to spend time with his mom while she creates art and play music. Then when he’s not with her he likes to lay with me and relax when I play games or watch tv. At the end of the night Salem is in bed with both us for a good night’s sleep. Salem is one of the best cats around. He loves to play with his flopping fish and little toy mouse he chases around the house. He brings us toys in the middle of the night for a little game a fetch and then loves to cuddle. He loves to guard us anytime we are in the bathroom and always checks on us to make sure we are ok. Right now we are going through extensive rounds of testing to figure out what’s wrong with Salem. He has been to the ER and Vet multiple times in the last few months. We are hearing this could be ranging from an compromised auto immune disorder to possible cancer scenarios. We are doing all we can to get a proper diagnosis for our little guy. Right now we were in the middle of a move and switching jobs. Then when Salem started to get sick his ER and vet visits with testing took a toll on us. Now we are back to a lot of testing on him to see what’s wrong as we weren’t given proper treatment from other vets before.

Penny is a 6-year-old Beagle/Shih Tzu in Carmichaels, PA, who needs $2,000 for IVDD Surgical Intervention.

Carmichaels, PA

After losing both of our geriatric dogs in the fall of 2017, my husband and I were devastated and heartbroken. I knew we wanted to adopt but I was casually looking with the plan to adopt in the spring. In November, a fluffy little white and black pup showed up on a local shelters FB page. The next day, I packed my youngest in the car and off we went to meet little “Clarice”. We brought home that little pup that day and changed her name to Penny Lane. She mended our broken hearts, played endlessly with our toddler, chasing toys and vying for the best spot on moms lap for nap time, chased my son while he played soccer and fetched his baseballs while hitting off the tee. She’s given us so many zoomies and boops and air licks and has made each day brighter by being ours. Penny is special in so many ways. First of all, her underbitten, toothy smile can make even the darkest day bright. She communicates through little grunts and holds us all accountable for the treats that she so much deserves. She’s sassy and a bit of a “bitty old lady” but she gives the best hugs and knows just when a snuggle is needed. And she loves tummy scratches!!!! Penny has been having intermittent seizures for about 4 years. Her vet said it wasn’t often enough for pharmaceutical intervention. Then, last night out of the blue, she seemed to be weak in her back legs. Today, she woke up with no function in both back legs and in discomfort. The Vet ER has diagnosed her with a slipped disc and surgery is imminent. Due to the $10,000-$12,000 projected cost of surgery, it is creating a financial hardship for us. We have 2 households to uphold and 3 children. They said that with quick surgery, she has a 90% chance to regain function, without, she could never walk again.

Ozzy is a 1-year-old Mixin East Pittsburgh , PA, who needs $2,000 for Posterior Cervical Spinal Fusion.

East Pittsburgh, PA

Little Ozzy is a rescue dog that didn't have a great start to life. He was rescued January of 2023 and has been living a good life since. He is a little 14 pound mixed breed that whole-heartedly believes he's a giant. He currently lives with me and his big brother Otho who is also a rescue. Together the two of them have a great time together and do nothing without the other one joining in. Ozzy is the star of the show when he is around. He absolutely loves his doggy brother and any attention anyone is willing to give him. He will snuggle right up to be as close to us as possible. He loves to be held but also loves to run around and play with his little family just as much. If things are to boring for him he will get everyone going with his fun little bark and some zoomies. Ozzy is absolutely a character. I've never seen another dog like him nor have I seen another little guy with such confidence. He absolutely lights up a room or doggy park as soon as he comes in. There isn't a day that goes by that his little facial expressions or crooked ears don't make me smile or giggle. He also makes his doggy brother very happy by playing with him all the time. Ozzy unfortunately was born rough. He currently is going through a medical emergency for a broken neck which was caused by the fusion of 4 of his vertebrae in his neck. This occurred in the womb but now an emergency surgery is needed to allow Ozzy to walk again. He is currently beinf treated at Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center in North Hills. This surgery is needed to save him. Financially I am the only provider for my home as it is just me and my dogs. This restricts what I can and can't afford and with a very large cost like this it has put me in a financial burden. However, whatever my pets need I will provide no matter what state it puts me in.

I found Ozzy online when he was 5 months old. He was the dog I was looking for, perfect coat, color and size. Now he is 7 months old and a perfect side kick. Ozzy is a gentle giant and is friendly with everyone. He loves to give everyone his paw. One of his favorite things to do is run around outside with his sister. He loves his kong, bones and lick mat full of cheese and peanut butter! He is not a fan of the public fire alarm, once the alarm goes off he howls at the moon in the most passionate way possible. A stack of plywood fell and I attempted to save Ozzy from the wood, but ozzy never leaves my side. He never moved and both the wood and I landed on him. He broke his femur in 2 spots including his growth plate. The vet gave me two options for Ozzy. Amputate the leg or intensive surgery to attempt to save his leg. No matter which surgery I choose it will cost between 13,000-15,000. This was a freak accident that happened. It would mean the world to me if we were able to keep his leg and give him a long life to live since he is only 7 months old. He is my best friend and I am trying to save his leg but with it being an expensive bill, I am seeking help.

Hello my name is Jerrica and I’m desperately trying to raise funding to take my puppy (Nugget) to the local emergency vet. Nugget’s back paw was accidentally stepped on while my husband was doing dishes. Nugget loves to lay by our feet and this time my husband was not prepared for him to be there. He has not been able to stand and has been crying in pain. Please anything will help. We adopted Nugget 4 months ago. A beautiful healthy baby boy in need of a home. We have a two and four year old who absolutely adore him. We are in the middle of moving that’s why we don’t have the extra funding to pay for a large vet bill. Please anything will help. We just want to get our little man some help. It’s so terrible having to watch him suffer. Nugget is very special to our family. He makes our family feel complete. The fact that he’s hurt and we can’t fix it is absolutely killing us. Please help our baby get some vet care and relieve the pain that he is feeling. He brings so much joy into our lives and all we want to do is help him. This could have happened at a worse time!! Nugget has never need any kind of medical attention. He was a happy, active, heathy puppy before this accident. He’s only needed to go to the vet for vaccines and well checks. This is 100% unexpected. He has not been able to stand or put any weight on his leg. Not even able to use the bathroom. I have been spoon feeding him for the last 24 hours. We have two toddlers and are in the middle of moving so we have zero extra funding for pet care. I can’t believe this happened the exact weekend that we are due to relocate.

Pittsburgh, PA

Jack was 6 weeks old, alone in the shelter. He was only to stay with our family until he was old enough to be neutered- that was 11 years ago. Jack decided I was his person and he has loved me fiercely since day one. It would not be exaggerating to say he has saved my life- from career changes, grad school, covid, and the loss of my mom, my little beagle has always been right by my side. I had to buy a bigger bed because he likes to sleep perpendicular to me at night. Furniture is placed by windows so he can enjoy the view (and yell at the squirrels!). There is nothing he loves more than running in the woods with his cousin, Mellow, taking in all the smells. It can only be made better if he can find a really stinky mud puddle to roll in. He has shaped my life and I love it. No one could ever describe Jack as quiet. From his loud howls, to mischievous rumblings and his cries of delight- he always has something to say! He loves people (almost as much as he loves food!) and greets everyone excitedly every time he sees a familiar friend, his doting grandparents, or a friendly neighbor that just said 'hi' to him once before. Jack has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer (apocrine gland adenocarcinoma of the anal sac ). His best chance is surgery, possibly radiation or chemotherapy, and will need regular check-ups to ensure it doesn't return. Like many in my generation, I have worked hard every day of my adult life but still live paycheck-to-paycheck. With student loans, rising costs of living, and stagnant wages- even my modest lifestyle isn't sustainable and defiantly can't cover the costs of cancer care.

She was living with my grandmother and a gift to her /family because my pap passed away. Very energetic dog always on the go and loves kisses. My grandmother passed away 12/21 and we lost her house, we took turns watching kloe. Kloe is like a lil human she doesn't eat dry food and will pick it out if u gave it to her. She also loves to be carried like a baby over your shoulder and will actually hug you. She had kids to play with all the time and very protective over everyone. She took it hard we my grandmother past away she would just look for her. She is the only thing we have left of my grandmother Kloe is our special dog because of the way she looks and loves hugs and kissed her favorite thing to do run back and forth and around in circles. She also hides food like someone is taking it. Like really put it in a blanket and forget where she put it lol. She also would let us know way ahead of time if someone was coming to the door she would freeze in one place until they came in. Very protect Kloe has always love to job on her small rabbit like legs and she would go very high but never had she cried or limped. But the other day out of know where she suddenly stopped using her back legs and wasn't wagging her tail. We took her to a walk in vet and was told she needs surgery because she had a slipped disc. Now she's very confused bc she is used to walking and running and now nothing I'm a single mom paying tuition to finish nursing school and provide foe my house hold if I had it please believe I would do anything for her. Hello. Molly has been a part of my family since she was 8 weeks old. She is a happy, playful, smart, lovable and well behaved baby girl. She gets concerned if someone coughs and then has to give them kisses and check them over. She corrects her beagle brothers, when they are misbehaving. Always at her moms side. She visits her grandma every week to. She sleeps in bed with me. She likes to hunt bunnies and mice. She almost a champion bunny dog, but more of a home body. She suddenly became paralyzed in her rear 2 weeks ago. She’s keeping in check with her dr who referred her to a neurosurgeon. If she doesn’t get this done, she may become completely paralyzed. She can potty on her own and move her back legs some at this time. She is the best behaved beagle I’ve ever seen. That being said, she doesn’t take crap from her brothers and makes them listen to mom. She likes to play within toys and chase the boys sometimes. Likes to watch her daddy cook and sit with him during the day. She’s never had babies but loves helping with them and playing with them if she gets near any. Her veterinarian has referred her to a neurologist. We’re waiting for them to call and set the appointment for her. We travel an hour to see the regular vet. And the Pittsburg vet is two hours away. But all worth it, is they can fix her back up. I am on disability. Her daddy has a place about 15 minutes away & helps out some. We just lost 2 dogs around a year ago and one a year and a half ago. We spent around $400 a month on banshees meds for congestive heart failure. Then jasper got cancer in his spleen.

I rescued Stella from heading to the Humane Society when her original owner couldn't keep her due to landlord issues. I wasn't sure how'd she'd fit into my chaotic schedule and thought she might get in the way. I said I'd take her anyways, because I hate to see dogs go to the pound. It turns out it was the BEST decision of my life. She is a miracle on 4 paws. It's just me, my Stella, and a feline roommate for my Stella, in my household. Whenever friends, or family, come to visit they always get showered with love and kisses. I got lucky and had a dog with a heart of gold come into my life. She literally loves everything. Human and animal. Tried to even love a skunk once....🤢 As I previously stated, Stella loves everything. She has a BFF named Ellie, who is a female Collie. How those two get along SO well, is downright heart-warming. Stella can be such a hoot sometimes. She knows what the word LOVE is. I can ask her if she loves me, and she'll immediately come to me and lick my nose. I do get some sass from her when I ask it too much. I get a big groan first😁 Stella has developed 5 lipomas on her body, with one on her side growing larger and larger, and is strongly recommended by the surgeon to be removed soon. Another one under the base of her tail is going to be removed to, so it don't get infused with the tail and lead to amputation of the tail. I need financial help because I don't want to sit on these and let them grow. I have medical bills of my own, car payments, house payments.....The total for the procedure is $5,240 and I need help getting to that goal. Thank you for any consideration you may give me

Ellie came into my life almost 10 years ago when she was only 4 months old. To this day she is the first and only dog I've ever had! She was born on a farm in a large litter of puppies. Her original owners were unable to give her proper loving care, so I swooped in and took her as soon as I saw a picture of her adorable little puppy face. She has been the absolute light of my life since day one! Ellie is the glue that holds our household together. She has a bed in every room so she stays very comfortable at all times. Her favorite toys are stuffed animals - she takes them everywhere with her, including road trips! She loves hanging her head out the window, letting her nose take her on adventures, and cuddling with Mom and Dad at every chance she gets. We call her our "Hunny Bunny". Ellie knows how to say "I Love You" on command with 3 little "awoos". She is willing to do all of the tricks to get a treat, including roll over, sit pretty, and kisses. The shakies come out when there is loud thunder, so she was very happy when we moved out of Florida! Our favorite thing she has learned is to tell us when she needs to go outside. Rain or shine, she is always excited for a walk! Ellie was recently diagnosed with Large Cell Lymphoma. This came as a surprise to us all, when one day we noticed that her lymph nodes had suddenly become very swollen. Ellie is undergoing aggressive chemotherapy treatment, which will take a total of 6 months to complete. This is a sudden and major expense, without an emergency fund to supplement from. We recently relocated across country, to which our account took a major hit. These funds would allow us to give our beloved dog a better quality of living for the rest of her life.
