Venice, FL • True & Faithful Pet Rescue Mission
Lenox is an estimated 10-12-year-old 10-pound Chihuahua who was found wandering the streets of Miami, and it’s clear that he was an outside dog who was never properly cared for. He was rescued by Lisa L. of True and Faithful Pet Rescue, and Lisa notes that his urine is deep orange in color, which is very concerning. Lisa brought him to the veterinarian, where doctors ran a series of tests to try and figure out what’s going on. Lenox was found to be heartworm positive, and he also had to have 19 teeth removed. Doctors also did chest X-rays, an abdominal ultrasound, and liver bile acid tests. They are currently waiting for the culture to come back for his urine to see what’s causing it to be so dark. Since he’s had such a tough go in life, Lisa explains, “He’s very sweet, but he’s a little cautious and it takes him a little time to warm up.” Once Lenox is given a diagnosis and is started on a treatment regimen, he’ll be one step closer to finding his forever home, where he can receive the love and care he’s missed out on up until now. Lisa adds, “I know he’s on his way to happiness.” To cover the cost of Lenox’s medical invoices, True and Faithful Pet Rescue needs help from generous donors like you. "The shelter labeled her as hurt; you could tell something was wrong with her back leg. It was very obvious," Rena M., from True and Faithful Rescue Mission tells Waggle. The beautiful, fluffy dog caught the rescue's eye and stole their hearts. "Any dogs that have injuries are looked over by adopters because they often need extra medical care. She needed someone to help her. We needed to be a voice for the voiceless," Rena says. Can you help Katie get back on her feet and into a new loving home once she's healed up? Katie is expected to make a full recovery once she's fixed up and will eventually be up for adoption in the Washington DC, VA, and MD areas. "She will be great when she is more spry," Rena says. "I can't wait to see her personality develop once she's out of pain." So the group sprang Katie from the shelter and rushed her over to Davie Veterinary Clinic. The medical team took X-rays that revealed Katie has a broken hip -- they also found she has terrible teeth. Now the nonprofit rescue needs to raise the money for this adorable girl to have hip, dental, and spay surgery. "She is such a sweet soul," Rena adds. "You get a sense of thankfulness from her."

But when True and Faithful Pet Rescue heard about Littles, they swooped in to save him. And poor Littles was indeed an underdog. He was unable to walk, had a perineal hernia the size of a grapefruit, and was covered in urine and feces. Tania
Tania is an eight-year-old Rat Terrier in Venice, FL, who needs $2,000 for tumor removal and dental surgery.
Venice, FL • True & Faithful Pet Rescue Mission
Tania sat, suffering, hidden in the back of an animal shelter that was closed to the public. No one came to reclaim, adopt, or save her. The sweet dog with kind eyes had two huge tumors on her abdomen; one was the size of a tennis ball, the other the size of a soda bottle! When True and Faithful Pet Rescue heard about Tania, the nonprofit group immediately put a plan in action to get her out. "We could not walk past her at the shelter," Lisa L. with the group tells Waggle. "Her eyes pleaded for us to save her." The rescue picked up Tania and rushed her to Huntley Animal Care, where Dr. Bennett, DVM, discovered Tania also needed surgery to remove rotten teeth. "Tania's painful mouth was prohibiting her from eating," Lisa says. As soon as Tania was strong enough for surgery, the medical team went to work and removed 1.5 pounds of tumors from her mammary area and the teeth that were bothering her. Now she's recovering in a foster home and will be cleared for adoption soon. If you're interested in making Tania part of your family, True and Faithful Pet Rescue waives their adoption fee for seniors and helps transport pets to different locations in the U.S. Lisa says the group is thrilled to have saved Tania and hopes generous donors will help them raise the money to pay the medical bills for her care. "Tania deserves better, and better is what she got!"
