Zeno and Zula
The Brothers Who Wouldn’t Give Up: Help Them Overcome Parvo and Leg Injury
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
When we first met Zeno, he was just a baby, an 8-week-old Great Pyrenees puppy with the gentlest spirit and the odds stacked against him. He had been found as a stray, barely holding on: weak, lethargic, battling giardia, and missing part of his front leg. His tiny body was overwhelmed with parasites, and it was clear he would need an amputation in the near future. We rushed him to the vet and found him a loving foster, hoping this would be the start of a better life. Then came devastating news. The same shelter contacted us just days later—Zeno’s siblings had been brought in, both gravely ill with parvo. One had already passed. The other, now named Zula, was fighting for his life. Without hesitation, we pulled him too. Zula was immediately hospitalized and treated alongside his brother. It broke our hearts to see them suffering, but we were determined to give them both a chance at survival. Day by day, the tide began to turn. Zula, the stronger of the two, began to bounce back—eating, drinking, some playing, and finally off of IVs and onto oral medication. Zeno’s road has been slower. He’s still on IV fluids, battling nausea and weakness, but his eyes are brighter, and he’s showing signs of comfort. These boys are survivors, bonded not only by blood but by the fight they’re facing side by side. Zeno still needs surgery to remove what’s left of his injured leg, and both puppies have racked up significant medical bills from their intensive care. We’re asking for your help to ease that burden. If you can donate even a few dollars, it will make a real difference in the in their recovery. These brothers have been through so much. Please help us get them the happy, healthy future they deserve. 4/21/26 Update Thank you to everyone who supported Zeno and Zula on their healing journey! Thanks to you, Zeno and Zula have both recovered and have been adopted! We couldn't be happier for them to be able to live out the rest of their lives as happy and healthy adult dogs in their forever homes.

Biscuit
Biscuit’s Battle for Comfort and Clarity
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
When Biscuit arrived at the shelter, it was clear something was wrong. His tiny, swollen eyes told a heartbreaking story. He was alone, just a few months old, unable to see and clearly in pain. Shelter staff feared he might lose both eyes. Even while hurting, Biscuit purred and made biscuits when touched, earning him his sweet name. We rushed Biscuit to the hospital, where vets diagnosed him with severe congenital glaucoma. The pressure in his eyes was dangerously high, nearly four times the safe limit, and he was already blind. The original plan was to remove both eyes as soon as possible, but his case has become more complicated. Four different vets, including an ophthalmologist, are now working together to investigate whether there’s an underlying fungal infection or ocular FIP causing his symptoms. Until they have answers, we’re treating him with multiple medications and running additional tests. Biscuit’s medical bills are growing by the day. Between emergency hospitalization, diagnostic testing, specialty consults, biopsies, and bloodwork, the cost of his care has already surpassed $2,600 and continues to rise. But we believe he’s worth every penny. And thanks to a loving medical foster experienced with blind cats, Biscuit has a safe place to recover while we wait for the next steps. We’re asking for your help to cover the cost of Biscuit’s ongoing care. His case is complex, and we’re doing everything we can to give him comfort, clarity, and a future filled with love. Please consider donating today. Biscuit may never regain his sight, but with your support, he’ll never lose his chance at a happy life. Update 9/7/25 Two weeks after having both eyes removed (there was no choice), Biscuit is confident, happy and having fun! 🤩 We are beyond grateful for everyone who has donated so far! And Saving Hope is also excited to share that he has been adopted into his forever home! This wouldn't have been possible without the generous support from you. Thank you!

Cherish
Cherish's Journey From Trauma to Triumph
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
A witness watched in horror as someone walked onto their third-floor balcony with a tiny kitten in hand, then cruelly hurled her over the edge. The kitten landed headfirst on the pavement below. She lay there, injured and helpless, until a homeless woman, struggling herself, rushed to her side. With no transportation, she walked a long distance to the nearest vet, begging them to save the kitten's life. That kitten is now named Cherish. Cherish arrived at the clinic with visible scars on her head and ears, head trauma, and what appeared to be blindness in one eye. She was in shock and severely disoriented. The vet couldn’t admit her as a stray, but they reached out to us at Saving Hope. Our intake was closed due to overwhelming vet bills, but we couldn’t turn our backs. We admitted her immediately, and she was hospitalized for round-the-clock care and monitoring. Miraculously, Cherish has now made a full recovery. Her sight returned, her balance improved, and she began exploring her world with confidence. Her foster family, already smitten, decided to adopt her, giving her the forever home she deserves. But this happy ending came with a steep cost: emergency hospitalization, diagnostics, medication, and follow-up care to monitor her recovery. Now, we need your help to cover the cost of her care. Cherish’s rescue and recovery were made possible by kindness, but we can’t continue saving lives like hers without your support. Please donate today to help cover Cherish’s medical expenses and ensure we’re ready for the next animal who needs a miracle. Update 9/19/25 Cherish is healing wonderfully, and her recovery is going great. Her foster home absolutely adores her!

Justice
Justice Is Safe, Now She Needs Help Healing
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Justice spent far too long on her own, struggling through pain no animal should ever endure. She was found dragging a broken leg, covered in painful open wounds, and clearly exhausted from the fight to survive. A kind stranger stepped in and brought her to safety, giving her the name Justice. From that moment on, everything started to change. Though intake at Saving Hope Rescue remains closed, Justice’s condition was simply too urgent to turn away. At the vet, she was given fluids, medication, and an emergency spay after infection was discovered in her uterus. Her leg, sadly, is beyond saving. It’s dying and will need to be amputated, but not just yet. Her body is fragile, and she must first grow stronger, gain weight, and continue fighting off the infection before it’s safe to operate. For now, Justice is resting in a warm, quiet foster home, the very same home of the kind person who rescued her. She’s on pain medication, she’s being doted on, and she’s finally learning what it feels like to be cared for. The worry still shows on her face, but we know that with time, love, and the right care, her spirit will shine again. Her surgery is scheduled for two weeks from now, and every day until then is a step toward healing. Justice has come so far already, but her journey is just beginning. Donations will help cover the cost of her surgery, medication, and ongoing care. Every gift brings her closer to the pain-free life she deserves. If you can, please give today.

Bear
Surrendered After a Tragedy, Bear Is Finally Getting the Care He Needs
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
When Bear arrived at Saving Hope Rescue, he was injured and in pain. He had been struck by a car, and though his owners meant well, their attempt to mend his wounds with Tylenol and ointment was not enough. When they surrendered him, Bear needed more than love, he needed professional medical care and a second chance. Bear was quickly taken to the vet, where X-rays revealed a serious fracture in his front leg, one that would require intricate orthopedic surgery to repair. Unfortunately, Bear also tested positive for heartworms. But despite it all, his gentle nature never wavered. He leaned into kindness, trusting that better days were on the way. Thankfully, Bear has undergone a successful surgery, and he is healing steadily. Soon, he’ll begin treatment to clear the heartworms from his body. He’s now in a loving foster home where he can rest, recover, and rediscover the simple joys of being a dog—soft blankets, warm meals, and the safety of a quiet nap without pain. Bear’s journey is far from over, but he’s finally on steady ground. His pain is being replaced with comfort, and each day brings new signs of strength. Please consider donating today to help support Bear's recovery.

Piper
Precious Piper Needs Help Healing
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Piper was found alone and in pain, her tiny body trembling and her right eye horribly swollen and infected. At just a month old, she was in no shape to fend for herself. Fort Worth Animal Control rescued her and posted her as urgent, and thankfully, Saving Hope Rescue saw her plea and jumped into action. Once in rescue care, Piper was rushed to the vet, where it became clear how severe her condition truly was. Her eye, irreparably damaged from infection, had begun to rupture, and she was in obvious distress. Despite her pain, this brave little kitten clung to life, curling up in her foster home between vet visits, medication doses, and gentle care. Her spirit never gave up and neither did Saving Hope. Piper underwent emergency surgery to remove her ruptured eye and finally get relief. The procedure went well, and she was more comfortable almost immediately. But now, an abscess has formed near the surgery site, and she’ll need further hospital care to have it properly drained and treated. With her immune system still developing, every infection is serious. This sweet girl isn’t out of the woods just yet. Saving Hope is asking for your help to continue Piper’s fight. Her emergency surgery, follow-up care, and now additional treatment have stretched their resources thin. But they can’t give up on her. Please donate to help Piper heal fully. Every dollar brings her closer to a life free of pain, filled with love, warmth, and safety. 4/21/26 Update Thank you to everyone who supported Piper on her healing journey! We are happy to share that she has made a full recovery and has now been adopted into her forever home! She deserves to have a wonderful life and are so grateful to all of you wonderful supporters.

Toothless
Tiny Toothless Needs Help Recovering From Emergency Eye Surgery
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Toothless is a tiny black kitten with a big spirit at just four months old. When Saving Hope Rescue first learned about him, he had goopy eyes and seemed a bit under the weather. But things quickly took a turn. His condition worsened fast, and one of his eyes became dangerously infected. The plan was to wait until he was big enough for anesthesia, but his little body could not hold out any longer. At just over one pound, Toothless was in critical condition. One of his eyes had ruptured, causing immense pain and putting him at serious risk of further infection. He may be small, but his will to live is strong. The veterinary team knew waiting was no longer an option, and he was rushed into emergency surgery to remove the damaged eye and give him the best chance at life. Thankfully, the emergency surgery went as well as anyone could’ve hoped, and Toothless is now steadily recovering under the careful of his dedicated foster. But this was just the start of a lengthy recovery journey—which consists of post-op care and vet follow-ups. How anyone could let ANY soul get to this point is beyond us. It is, for lack of better terms, beyond horrific and downright inexcusable. Yet, poor Toothless is in this position, and this is his reality. And while we may not know just what was behind his pain, we DO know – either way you slice his cake – he has lived a life of horror. And he's faced much of it alone. However, WE know that Toothless has SO much left ahead of him, and SO much love left to give. Please send Toothless some extra-warm thoughts, and please consider making a donation if you can. Every dollar matters in supporting this resilient boy’s ongoing medical care. Let’s show Toothless that even the smallest lives ARE worth fighting for.

Cheddar
Help Cheddar Recover From a Life of Cruelty
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Cheddar is only six months old, but he’s already lived through more suffering than most dogs will ever know. He wandered up to a stranger at a gas station, injured and alone, looking for help. His body told a heartbreaking story, with wounds across his skin and one ear completely sliced open. It is suspected Cheddar was used as a bait dog, forced into unthinkable cruelty before being abandoned. Saving Hope Rescue could not turn away. Cheddar’s medical journey has been intense, but he has handled it all with remarkable resilience. His left ear was carefully cleaned and sutured during surgery, while both ears were found to be full of debris and infection, the result of long-term neglect. The veterinary team flushed his ears, started him on antibiotics and pain medication, and gave him the relief he had likely never known. Day by day, he has been healing, gaining strength, resting peacefully, and discovering that kind hands and soft beds can be part of his world. What he has endured would break many, but Cheddar continues to shine. Despite everything, Cheddar’s spirit remains gentle and bright. He has made remarkable progress. He has gained weight, received his first vaccines, and is slowly learning what it means to feel safe. He loves toys, enjoys car rides, and is figuring out leash walks and crate time. He is still working on potty training and managing some separation anxiety, but this sweet boy is trying his very best. Through it all, Cheddar has shown how eager he is to trust, to love, and to simply be a puppy. Please consider donating to support Cheddar’s medical care and recovery. He is safe now, but he still needs a village to stand by his side as he heals and learns what it means to be truly loved. Every gift makes a difference for dogs like him. Update Despite his rough start, Cheddar is incredibly loving and resilient. He has started settling into home life nicely and absolutely loves humans and play time! He is working on potty training and separation anxiety, but has overcome so much and we are so proud. Thank you for your ongoing support for Cheddar.

Boone
Help Boone the Kitten Fight Panleukopenia with Emergency Care
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Boone is just two months old, but this tiny kitten has already faced heartbreak. He was found in a backyard alongside his littermates, left behind with no mother in sight. The kind person who discovered them waited and watched, hoping the momma cat would return. But she never did. Boone and his siblings were truly alone, and thankfully, Saving Hope Rescue stepped in before it was too late. Shortly after intake, Boone began showing signs of serious illness. He tested positive for panleukopenia, also known as feline parvo, a life-threatening virus that hits young kittens the hardest. Despite the diagnosis, Boone still had a strong heartbeat, bright eyes, and the will to live. The vet felt he was a good candidate for treatment, so the Saving Hope Rescue made the decision to fight for him. Boone is now hospitalized, receiving round-the-clock care that includes IV fluids, medication, and monitoring. His care will cost up to $1,700, and while that is a big number, this little kitten’s life is worth every penny. Boone is responding well, but he is still not out of the woods. His sweet spirit is shining through. His vet techs adore him, and he has stolen hearts with his gentle purrs and brave little face. Please consider donating today to help continue Boone’s treatment. With your help, Boone can grow up healthy, safe, and loved. Let’s give him the future he deserves.

Candy
Help Candy Find the Sweet Life She Deserves
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Candy’s life almost ended before it even had the chance to begin. At just two months old, she was thrown away like trash and left to suffer in a dumpster in the heat. She was very sick and completely helpless. Somebody found Candy and brought her to the shelter, but when staff realized she had canine papilloma virus, her future was once again at risk. The shelter had no choice. If they could not find rescue placement, they planned to euthanize Candy to stop the spread of the virus. Canine papilloma virus (CPV) is contagious and causes painful sores in young puppies with weak immune systems. Saving Hope Rescue couldn’t let her story end that way. They stepped in, rushed her to the vet, and made a promise: Candy would be given a second chance. Today, Candy is in veterinary care, fighting to get stronger every day. She’s already had her first bath, is showing signs of appetite, and has a growing spark in her eyes. It will take time, patience, and resources, but Candy’s spirit is undeniable. She’s ready to heal and she’s ready for happiness ahead. Candy’s medical care will be intensive and costly, but she’s worth every effort. Saving Hope Rescue is committed to showing her that her life matters. Every donation helps Candy move closer to a healthy, joyful future. Please consider donating today. Update 05/14 After a brief stay at the vet and lots of love in her foster home, Candy is already doing (and feeling!) a lot better than on Day 1 of her rescue. It’s amazing to see her blossom; she adores people and gets along great with her foster siblings who are cats! She's bursting with puppy energy which makes us so happy to see knowing her hard past. We could still use all the help we can get supporting Candy girl’s medical bills and recovery. Every little bit helps, thank you so much for following her healing journey!

Solace
Saved Just in Time—Help Support Solace
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Solace is just 10 months old, a baby by any measure, and already he’s faced more than any animal ever should. He was surrendered to the city shelter due to seizures and left waiting for help that never came. For over two weeks, he sat without medical care. Then, everything changed. He crashed, and the shelter called with an urgent plea: get him to a vet or he would be humanely euthanized. Saving Hope Rescue didn’t hesitate. Solace was rushed to the vet, where staff thought he had already passed. His temperature was just 94 degrees, he could barely breathe, and he was unresponsive. Against all odds, the veterinary team worked tirelessly and brought him back. They suspect he may have been poisoned, though nothing is confirmed. What is clear is that Solace fought hard to survive. Today, Solace is safe in a loving foster home. He receives daily seizure medication to help manage his condition and is adjusting well to his new routine. He’s eating, resting, and starting to explore again. After everything he’s been through, it’s a joy to see him relaxed and surrounded by care. Shar
Blind and Alone, But Not Forgotten
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Shar was found alone, shivering on a golf course in freezing temperatures—blind, partially deaf, and barely holding on. Beside him was a handwritten note explaining that he was six months old, blind, and unable to get the surgery he needed. Instead of finding help, someone left him to face the cold alone. But thanks to kind strangers, Shar was brought to safety just in time. Saving Hope Rescue took him in without hesitation. Shar had been through so much—cold, fear, confusion—and yet his sweet soul still quietly shone through. He was completely blind in one eye, likely blind in the other, and his hearing was severely impaired. Exhausted and emotionally shut down, he slept for nearly 24 hours after arriving, his little body finally able to rest. Though he still faces challenges, Shar is now safe and surrounded by love. He’s receiving medical care, comfort, and a path forward. Vets are assessing his eyes and planning surgery, while also treating his arthritis and monitoring his hearing loss. Slowly, his personality is emerging. He’s gentle, trusting, and learning that the world doesn’t have to be scary. Now, Shar needs our help. Donations will cover his surgery, follow-up treatment, and continued care as he heals—physically and emotionally. He was left behind once, but with your support, he’ll never be forgotten again. Let’s give Shar the chance at life he always deserved. Update 05/01 Shar had entropion surgery, which is a surgery where they correct a condition where the eyelid turns inward, causing the eyelashes to irritate the eyes. He is currently recovering and receiving all the TLC! At 11 months, he is all puppy and enjoying every moment of life. His care is ongoing but we are so happy to see this pup come back to life.

Optimus
Help Optimus Heal After Being Hit
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
At just 1 year old, Optimus was all alone, running along a busy road—scared, confused, and trying to find his way. Before help could reach him, he was struck by a car and left seriously injured. Thankfully, a kind soul stopped to help him and reached out to Saving Hope Rescue. The team responded without hesitation, bringing Optimus in and giving him the urgent care he needed. The impact left Optimus with a leg broken in two places. In order to save the leg and avoid amputation, a complex and delicate surgery was performed by a skilled veterinary team. The procedure was a success, but recovery will take time. Optimus is now on six weeks of crate rest to give his leg the best chance to heal. Once the six weeks is up, he’ll undergo x-rays to determine his progress. Despite his injuries, Optimus remains sweet and calm, meeting every day with quiet strength. He greets caregivers with soft eyes and a gentle wag of his tail. He’s already shown remarkable patience through his recovery, and with continued support, he has every chance of regaining full use of his leg and living the joyful life he was meant for. Tommy Boy
From the Streets to Safety: Tommy Boy’s Turnaroud
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Tommy Boy was found alone, cold, and badly injured—clearly a cat who had been through more than any animal should. At 10 years old, his body showed signs of a rough past. He had deep wounds on his face and legs, likely from an attack, and moved with visible discomfort. But thankfully, he was brought to Saving Hope Rescue, where care and compassion were finally waiting for him. From the moment he arrived, Tommy Boy showed a quiet strength. Though his body was hurting, he allowed gentle hands to clean his wounds and begin treatment. His face had scabs and tears, his ears were ragged, and his front paw and rear leg were raw from trauma. But behind the injuries was a sweet, loving cat just trying to feel safe again—and he was finally in a place where healing could begin. Under Saving Hope’s care, Tommy Boy began to recover. His wounds were treated, and initial x-rays showed no broken bones. He was started on medication and closely monitored. For a few weeks, things were improving—until he suddenly stopped using one of his legs. Further imaging showed his hip was slightly turned inward, and the leg bone had slipped out of place. This damage likely caused during his attack. Thankfully, he is now safe and can be kept on crate rest while he hopefully heals on his own, without surgical intervention. He will have further tests to confirm his progress. He’s come so far already, and with continued support, he can get back on track to moving toward a pain-free, peaceful life. Please consider helping Tommy Boy on his road to recovery. Your support gives him hope, healing, and a future full of love. Update Tommy Boy has continued to come out of his shell and show the world that he has so much love to give! Saving Hope is continuing to monitor his progress with rechecks scheduled with the vet to discuss his treatment plans and best options for him. Thank you for your ongoing support!

But fast-forward, and at only eight months old, she returned—a shell of the dog she used to be. What should have been her chance at a forever home turned into a nightmare. Reba's life hangs in the balance and Saving Hope Rescue needs your support to save her. Please help show Reba that her life matters, that she is loved, and her suffering is over. Cain
Cain's Comeback: Help Him Heal From Gunshot Wound
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Cain wandered onto somebody's property in Henderson, Texas with a very large swollen face. Given he had been roaming the woods for who knows how long, they assumed his face swelling was due to a snake bite, an attack from another animal, or an infection. Sadly, this was not the case. Cain was taken in by Saving Hope Rescue and taken to the vet where he received a comprehensive evaluation. X-rays revealed that Cain had a bullet lodged in his face. Somebody had shot this gentle soul in his head, meaning Cain was a mere few inches from death. This revelation was a heartbreaking moment for all his caretakers, as they had fallen hard for this sweet boy. Thankfully, Cain is now safe and will never again face unfathomable cruelty like he has. He is currently in boarding at the vet, where they are carefully monitoring his progress. He has surgery scheduled to remove the bullet. Once the surgery is complete, he will go to a foster home filled with love to recover. Cain has suffered through a heartbreaking story, but we now have a chance to help him put these traumas behind him once and for all. He, like all dogs, deserves a life of happiness. Please consider donating to help Saving Hope Rescue get Cain the care he needs to recover. Update 01/28/25 Cain survived surgery today! He is doing excellent. He had a hard time waking up post-op, and he was super confused and panicked. He was given a calming injection and his caretakers sat with him to let him know he was safe and ok. It was heartbreaking to see traces of what is assumed to be some sort of PTSD. Once he calmed down, he has been doing great ever since. Thank you too all his supporters! Update 02/13/25 Cain took the next big step in his journey and went to a foster home. We are hoping it will be his FurEver home!! Saving Hope Rescue couldn’t have saved his life, without all the amazing people who donated for him- they are eternally thankful!

Lumi
Lovebug Lumi Needs Help Recovering from Heartbreaking Leg Injury
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Lumi, at just a year old, sat at the shelter for almost a week with a horrific leg injury. Her leg was infected, broken, and had puncture wounds. Poor Lumi also had horrible ear infections. The shelter workers were just heartbroken, unable to bear the idea of euthanizing this total lovebug due to her worsening condition. She was marked as "rescue only" and thankfully, Saving Hope Rescue took her into their care. The rescue quickly went to get Lumi from the shelter and to their vet when they heard her fever had begun to climb, indicating the infection was taking over. Lumi needed help urgently. She needed IV fluids, medication to help fight both pain and infections, thorough bloodwork, and an amputation. There was no saving this leg. Lumi's surgery went beautifully. Her mood was immediately better, which is seen often with amputee animals. Sometimes they know before we do that their limb has to go. They do not mourn or grieve their loss, they just go play, finally able to do what their heart desires pain free. Lumi is just extraordinary and her caretakers have already fallen in love with her. Saving Hope Animal Rescue is a non-profit that relies on donations to help Lumi. Please consider donating today to help support Lumi's mounting medical bills. She, like every cat, deserves a chance at a long healthy life. Update 03/03/25 Lumi is healing wonderfully! Her personality is blossoming and it is so fun to watch. She shows her caretakers each day something new about her, warming their hearts because this indicates she is finally pain free and settling into herself and a comfort zone. They cannot wait to learn more about her and help her heal.

Tobias
Help Tobias: A Young Kitten Who Urgently Needed Amputation
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Little Tobias is just a 2-month-old kitten who has had a heartbreaking start to life. As a stray, he was left to fend for himself, resulting in a tragic injury that left him unable to properly use his front paw. His finders suspected a break in multiple places, as his leg had no integrity and was completely limp, unnaturally bending when he hesitantly put pressure on it. Tobias was fortunately taken into Saving Hope Rescue, making it possible for him to receive the care he needed. He had a thorough examination done by their vet, who found that Tobias’ leg was shockingly not broken. Instead, they found significant spacing between his joints and severe nerve damage. This was most likely caused by him hiding in a car engine for warmth, then being burned when the car was started. Given the diagnosis, amputation was likely in his future. Tobias was sent home to a loving foster home on crate rest in hopes that his leg would “wake up” and he would not need amputation. While waiting for his upcoming surgery, Tobias’ foster went to wake him up one morning to find he had chewed through his cone and had begun to gnaw off his paw. They quickly rushed him to the vet for an emergency amputation. His surgery could no longer wait. Tobias’s surgery was successful, and hopefully, the worst is behind him. He will still need a few follow-up appointments to ensure he is receiving all the support he needs to properly regain his health. Please consider donating today to help this young kitten.

Quesorito
Quesorito is a 3 month old American Shorthair in Aledo, TX, who needs $1,000 for surgery, medication, care.
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
At just 3 months old and weighing slightly over 1 pound, this tiny orange kitten named Quesorito was found abandoned, with his fragile leg left in a rotting cast and an upper respiratory infection making it incredibly hard for him to breathe. When Quesorito arrived at the shelter, they were heartbroken. His leg had a horrible stench to it, as his skin had begun to break down and become infected underneath the tight cast. Unfortunately, the shelter did not have the resources to help this tiny kitten, so he was marked as “rescue only” and put on the euthanasia list. With just 45 minutes left to spare, he was tagged by Saving Hope Animal Rescue. Quesorito had to be sedated to carefully remove the cast, revealing an untreated break in his leg. Thankfully, the damage could be fixed, and he's already started his road to recovery. He’s now on pain medication, antibiotics, and eye drops to address his infections. He will need a weekly resplint as he grows. This brave little kitten is also on strict cage rest for the next few weeks to ensure his leg heals properly. Quesorito's caretakers speak of his sweet nature and how he's already showing signs of improvement. Once he’s fully healed, Quesorito will be ready to find a forever home where he’ll never be abandoned or neglected again. We need your help to give him the care and love he deserves. Please donate today to help Queso on his journey to a brighter future. Thank you for your kindness!

Ash
Black Kitten is Abused on Halloween: Tail Degloved and Leg Broken
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Saving Hope Rescue For many, Halloween is a time of fun and celebration. But for animals like Ash—a sweet, 5-month-old black kitten—it can be a time of unimaginable cruelty. Black cats face an alarming spike in abuse around Halloween, targeted because of harmful superstitions tied to their coloring. And sadly, Ash is one of those victims. Found just after Halloween, Ash’s tiny body bore the unmistakable marks of horrific human-inflicted abuse. One of his legs were broken, his fur was torn off in multiple areas, and his tail was degloved—a brutal injury where the skin is ripped away, exposing raw nerves and bone. Which, in turn, became riddled with maggots and raging infections. Saving Hope Animal Rescue acted swiftly, getting Ash the life-saving care he needed. To date, he's already undergone X-rays, blood work, wound care, and multiple rounds of medication to manage his pain and fight infection. But sadly, emergency surgery was required to amputate his tail and close the worst of his injuries. Today, this sweet boy remains at the vet, steadily recovering from the physical and emotional trauma inflicted on him. And despite the immense pain, Ash’s gentle spirit continues to shine through – looking to his rescuers with eyes full of love and hope. But his road to recovery is far from over. Ash’s medical bills are mounting steadily, and he still needs extensive care before he's ready to begin his next chapter in a safe and loving foster home. Please keep this special boy in your thoughts, and if you are able to assist with Ash’s care, please consider donating to this fundraiser or sending him a special "get-well" item off his wishlist below. Every ounce of support is so very appreciated. ❤️

Maple
Urgent Help Needed for Maple, an Innocent Dog Shot in the Face
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Saving Hope Rescue Maple was left to fend for herself as a stray, residing in a local truck yard. She was a part of a pack of dogs who had made this place their home. Life as a stray can be extremely dangerous, leaving animals vulnerable and susceptible to the horrors of mankind. Sadly, Maple is one of those stories. When a group of people who fed Maple frequently arrived one Sunday afternoon, what they found was horrific. Maple had been shot in the face. How she was alive and standing, is still a mystery, but there she was, in horrible pain and struggling to breathe. Maple was quickly taken to the nearby shelter, which reached out to us, Saving Hope Rescue. We immediately took her in and got her to the emergency room. We intend to pursue criminal charges as a witness has come forward, but for now, we are focused on saving Maple's life. She had multiple tests done to evaluate the damage the bullet left, and is on a litany of medications to help fight pain and infection. Despite the horrors she has endured, she is a quiet soul, eager for human attention. She is truly a heartbreaking case. Maple has been failed by humans far too many times, and we are determined to end that cycle. She will be shown nothing but love and support from this point on. She has a long road ahead of her, but we are hopeful. Please help support Maple today.

Sarabi
Rescued Pit Bull Battling Pneumonia and Painful Skin Issues Desperately Needs Help
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Saving Hope Rescue Sarabi was only minutes from being euthanized. Just two years on this earth have left her traumatized and broken, her spirit crushed by the streets of Fort Worth and a life in city shelters. She was "chemically captured"—darted by Fort Worth Animal Care & Control—and brought in suffering. Sarabi now battles a head tilt, severe ear infections, and various untreated injuries. She has painful skin rashes all over her body, resulting in hair loss. Her paws are in horrible shape, swollen and raw, making it painful to take a step. As if that wasn’t enough, contagious illnesses spread rapidly through the shelter. Nearly every dog we’ve recently rescued has been diagnosed with upper respiratory infections, and Sarabi was no exception. She developed pneumonia, became severely emaciated, and stopped eating. Her will to live was almost gone. When she was marked for euthanasia, a shelter volunteer advocated for her in those final moments, and thanks to their persistence, Sarabi is now in our care at Saving Hope Rescue. Now, Sarabi is safe and receiving critical medical treatment. But her journey is far from over, and she needs our support more than ever. Will you help us give Sarabi the care she needs to recover? Your donation will go directly toward her veterinary treatments. Please consider donating today. Sarabi deserves a second chance—and with your help, she’ll finally experience the love and safety she’s been denied for so long.

Omi
Omi is a 1 year old American Shorthair in Aledo , TX, who needs $2,000 to treat a bone infection.
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Saving Hope Animal Rescue Omi is a 1-year-old kitty who was part of a feral colony. She was intended to be part of a TNR project, but proved to be very friendly, so she was taken into Saving Hope Animal Rescue. She was with a foster, when they started to notice some lameness in her front left leg around mid-September. Omi has been going downhill ever since, and now is in severe pain and has a chronic fever. She is lethargic and barely wants to eat. She has been back and forth from the vet, receiving multiple x-rays, thorough bloodwork, and antibiotics. She is not responding to any medical treatment, which is breaking our hearts. We are exhausting all options for our sweet Omi. The next step is to aspirate the bone to get a sample of the bacteria in order to find out how to treat her. Her condition is life-threatening and causing too much suffering. The estimate is $2,200 for everything she needs. She will need to stay at the vet for multiple nights for more testing and observation. There is a potential she will need surgery depending on what the testing tells us. Poor Omi deserves answers, and we are determined to give that to her, but Saving Hope needs your help. Your donation can help support her health journey, so she can finally be pain free and live a long happy life. Please consider donating today.

Four Dumped Dog
Four American Pit Bull Terriers in Aledo , TX, who need $2,000 for Severe Malnourishment from Abuse.
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Saving Hope Animal Rescue These four innocent, vulnerable dogs were discarded like garbage, abandoned in the most horrific state imaginable—starved to the point where their lives were hanging by a thread. Whoever left them to die had stripped away their dignity, leaving them weak, skeletal, and desperately clinging to life. When Saving Hope Animal Rescue found them, their frail bodies told a story of unimaginable cruelty and neglect. Immediately, Saving Hope Animal Rescue took them in, determined to fight—both for these sweet souls, and for the sad state of animal welfare in Texas. All four dogs were immediately rushed to the vet, where they were given the lowest possible body score of 1 out of 9—an assessment that can only be described as heartbreaking. It means they had no fat and no muscle mass—only bones jutting from their fragile bodies. Ribs, vertebrae, pelvic bones—all painfully visible from a distance. The suffering these four have endured is beyond comprehension. But now, these four dogs have a glimmer of hope. Thanks to Saving Hope Rescue, they are finally safe and in loving hands—but now they need extensive medical testing and care to heal from the horrors they’ve faced. The road to recovery will be long and difficult, but for the first time, they have people fighting for them—people who believe in their strength, their spirit, and their will to live. These dogs have already survived the worst of humanity. Now, with your help, they can experience the best. Please help us give them the love, care, and support they need to heal. Your donation will provide life-saving medical treatments and help these dogs begin their journey back to health. Together, we can give them the happy, healthy future they deserve. Update 11/01/24 Two of the pups rescued from Grand Prairie, Texas have found foster homes! But sadly, two are still waiting for foster homes so they are still in boarding. They are SO SWEET despite all they have been through and are improving every day. We took one of the sweet girls for a walk, and the moment she got outside she tripped, fell in the flowers & just laid there soaking it all up. Thank you for all of the support so far!

Roku
Roku is a 10 year old French Bulldog in Aledo , TX, who needs $1,500 for Infection and Amputation of Necrotic Leg.
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Saving Hope Animal Rescue This brave boy named Roku was found as a stray, wandering alone and in terrible pain. Slightly underweight and clearly neglected, it’s assumed he had been dumped. But the most heartbreaking discovery was his leg—a bandage had been wrapped so tightly that it cut off circulation. The leg was cold, lifeless, and deformed, covered in bite marks and wounds. The vets described it as "strangulation from the bandage," and there was no choice but to amputate. X-rays revealed that the leg had been dislocated for some time, and with no blood flow, it had become necrotic. The infection had spread from his leg into his body, putting him at risk. But with immediate surgery and treatment, this resilient pup got a second chance. Fortunately, the amputation surgery went well, and now, he’s on the long road to recovery. He’s receiving ongoing care to fight the infection, and his foster family is giving him all the love and attention he needs while he rests. Despite everything he’s been through, his spirit is as strong as ever, and he’s adjusting to life on three legs with surprising ease. But this sweet boy isn’t out of the woods yet. He still needs time to heal, and the medical bills are adding up quickly. We need your help to ensure he gets the care he needs to make a full recovery. Please donate today and be a part of his incredible journey to healing.

Gideon
Gideon is a 3 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback in Aledo , TX, who needs $1,300 for Amputation.
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Saving Hope Animal Rescue Gideon was dropped at the local shelter in Fort Worth, Texas in heartbreaking condition. He was starving, covered in dirt and bugs, but nothing was worse than the sight of his missing leg. The majority of his front leg was gone- torn from his body. His bone was completely exposed. Saving Hope Animal Rescue intervened to get Gideon the emergency care he needed. Immediately upon arrival, the vets found that Gideon had an infection from the gruesome injury, which did not come as a shock. Who knows how long he had been suffering from debilitating pain, vulnerable and scared. Scrambling to save his life, vets immediately amputated Gideon's front leg, hopefully to stop the spread of infection to the rest of his body. Thankfully, the surgery went well. Gideon is now on crate rate in a foster home, being treated with so much love. Despite everything he’s been through, Gideon is still so sweet and gentle, as if he’s just waiting for someone to show him kindness after a lifetime of cruelty. Please donate to help cover the cost of his emergency surgery and the care he’ll need to recover. Gideon deserves better. He deserves a chance to heal, to feel safe, and to be free from this nightmare. Update 10/17 From Gideon’s Foster Mama, “How do I say this? It’s like nothing ever happened. Out of nowhere, the beginning of this week, there’s just nothing left. No more cries pain, no more struggling to get around!” Quite honestly, Gideon is nailing this three-legged life! Tonight, he is doing laps around the yard!

Angel
Angel is a 5 year old French Bulldog in Aledo , TX, who needs $2,000 for Emergency C-Section and Hysterectomy.
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Saving Hope Animal Rescue Angel is yet another tragic story of backyard breeding. She was being used as a way to make money, treated inhumanely time and time again. On day five of having deceased puppies inside of her, she was dumped. She was actively dying, and the owner did not care enough to tend to her. Fortunately, Saving Hope Animal Rescue stepped in to help. Poor Angel was in a life-threatening state by the time she was in the rescue's care. Her uterus had ruptured, warranting life-saving emergency surgery. Thankfully, the surgery went well and she survived. Before the surgery, she weighed 26.7 lbs and after just 19.4 lbs. She should never have been in this situation. During her surgery, the vets found evidence that she had a previous c-section and obviously was bred again despite the risks. The owners did not take her for another c-section, which resulted in the life-threatening incident. Saving Hope is so glad that this sweet pup is now safe. She will receive nothing but tender loving care from this day forward. Please consider donating towards her care to give Angel the life she deserves filled with love and good health.

Leonardo Di Catprio
Leonardo Di Catprio is a 5 month old Ojos Azules in Aledo , TX, who needs $750 for Wound Care.
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Leonardo Di Catprio was found limping along, all by himself, on the streets in Texas. He was clearly injured and had a quarter-sized puncture wound on his back hip. Saving Hope Animal Rescue was able to intervene and quickly get him to their vet, Family Pet Care in Fort Worth. Doctors think that his bite wounds look more like they are from a dog than another cat or exotic animal. They were thinking there was going to be damage to his hip but after running more diagnostics and taking x-rays, they found that he miraculously had ZERO breaks. He is still very sore, on pain meds, antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications. Leonardo is now recovering with a wonderful foster undergoing close monitoring. He is not super happy about his cone (what cat is?), but is a wonderful patient. He is a lover and such a brave kitty. Saving Hope is currently doing everything they can to pay off overwhelming medical bills, but they could not just stand by and do nothing for this sweet boy. He deserves a chance at life, free from suffering, like all animals.

Leo
Leo is a 7 year old Bengal in Aledo , TX, who needs $800 for Liver Treatment and Weight Control.
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Saving Hope Animal Rescue Leo's case is one of neglect we do not often think of. It is one of overfeeding and neglect for his health. Leo was brought into the vet to be euthanized by his owners because he no longer had the ability to climb into a litter box, forcing him to relieve himself on the floor. They overfed him, neglected him, then wanted to euthanize him because he could not function due to their lack of care. Leo is now with Saving Hope Animal Rescue in Texas. His liver enzymes are elevated, a clear sign that his body is struggling to cope with the excess weight. We’ve already begun the process of helping Leo slim down and regain his health, but it’s a challenging journey. He requires multiple blood draws to monitor his liver function and special food to support weight loss. Leo is a Bengal, one of the most agile, active cat breeds. On average a male weighs about 12 pounds, Leo weighs 23. The burden on his joints, his inability to move freely, and the discomfort he endures every day are the tragic results of this kind of neglect. To see this done to any cat, especially one who is extremely active, is cruel. Please consider donating today. Together, we can help Leo overcome the effects of this heartbreaking neglect and give him a future filled with health, happiness, and love.

Valor
Valor is a 3 year old German Shepherd Dog in Aledo , TX, who needs $2,000 for Malnutrition and Cancer Treatment.
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Saving Hope Animal Rescue Valor was found eating trash on the streets of Rio Grande City, Texas. He was extremely emaciated and had tumors on various parts of his body. Saving Hope Rescue took him into their care and got him to Fort Worth, Texas. After being evaluated, they discovered that Valor would need treatment for parasites, skin infections, heartworms, and needed to help him get back to a healthy weight. When he went in for his neuter, they discovered some devastating news. The vet discovered a tumor in his testicles that had metastasized to his blood cells and lymph nodes. His caretakers were heartbroken. In the short few months Valor has been in our care, he has been nothing but a delight. Valor has been in a foster home frequently visiting the vet. He absolutely loves his foster siblings, and adores being around humans, especially kids. He loves to cuddle. While waiting for the vet one day, his fosters discovered he knew how to sit, shake, and lie down, meaning once upon a time, he had a family. Who knows what is in Valor's past and what all he's endured. Moving forward, he will receive around the clock care and expert evaluations on the best steps forward. Saving Hope is a non-profit that relies on donations to help dogs, like Valor. Please help us help him.

Kelce
Kelce is a 3 month old Great Pyrenees in Aledo , TX, who needs $1,400 for Leg Amputation.
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Saving Hope Rescue Kelce was found burning up in the heat all alone, hiding in some trees near a gas station in Mesquite, Texas. The poor thing was in horrible shape, covered in fleas and ticks, and what appeared to be a broken back leg. Saving Hope Rescue stepped in to help him. Kelce was malnourished, suffering from trauma to his eye, loaded with parasites, and dangerously anemic. X-rays showed that Kelce's back leg was broken in not one but two different places. We will never know how this happened- whether someone beat him, or a car hit him- whatever it was, it hit her hard enough to shatter his leg. Given how much pain and badly broken his leg was, the vet needed to amputate his leg. Kelce is now recovering in a foster home, filled with love and helping him navigate life as a tripod. Since he is just a puppy, he should adapt quickly. He is a brave little boy who has so much love to give. He will need physical therapy and treatment for his other issues, but he has been a champion so far, and we know he will continue to be. Kelce has been through so much in his short life. Your generosity will make a difference in his journey towards recovery and a brighter future. Together, we can give this puppy the second chance he deserves.

Pumpkin
Pumpkin is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in Aledo , TX, who needs $1,500 for Poison Treatment and Emergency Vet Stay.
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Saving Hope Animal Rescue Sadly, people leaving their pets behind when they move is becoming more and more common for Saving Hope Rescue to see. Pumpkin is unfortunately, one of those cases. This cat was in an abandoned apartment locked in a crate with nothing but a bowl of cheerios. A family member found out and reached out to Saving Hope. Pumpkin got to Family Pet Care, located in Fort Worth, Texas, where he was quickly evaluated and had a few tests run. While waiting, Pumpkin began to act very lethargic and vomit. His bloodwork showed evidence this poor cat had been poisoned. We will never know if this was intentional, or if he got into something he was not supposed to, but we do know we have to get him healthy. The only known items about Pumpkin's past are dark. He grew up in a home with domestic violence and drug use. He is very scared, but somehow, still wants and reaches out to humans for attention. He is incredibly timid, but you can see in his eyes he craves love, he just does not know who to trust. Please consider donating to Pumpkin. He really needs your help. We want to show him that not all humans are bad, and there is love and happiness to be had in this world. We are hopeful of his recovery and that there are nothing but sunny days ahead for our little Pumpkin. Update 8/20 We are so thankful that for the lifesaving medical intervention. Due to how quickly Pumpkin received care, he has thankfully regained his health. He spent nearly a week at the vet and is now in a foster home. He has really begun to open up and want love. It makes us so happy to see his health and happiness improving.

Gigi
Gigi is a two-month-old American Polydactyl kitten in Aledo, TX, who needs $1,200 for urgent care.
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Saving Hope Animal Rescue first learned about Gigi from a good Samaritan who came to the kitten's rescue. "A woman was in a warehouse and started hearing tiny mews coming from somewhere," Laura G., with the nonprofit group, tells Waggle. "She tracked them down to a metal trash bin." When the woman looked into the garbage can she couldn't believe her eyes! "A tiny, malnourished kitten was panicking at the bottom of the bin, desperately trying to get out," Laura says. "There was only one other object in the bin, a Styrofoam cup with tiny teeth marks on it from the kitten who was desperately trying to find food since she was starving." The rescuer instantly scooped the kitten up and contacted Saving Hope. Gigi was whisked to an animal hospital where the rescue learned she was skin and bones and had terrible stomach issues. She is severely dehydrated and needs to remain in the hospital for monitoring. "It's unknown how long little Gigi was panicked, alone, and starving in the trash bin," Laura says. "But there is no way a seven-week-old kitten jumped into a three-foot-tall bin alone. Gigi's tragic start to life is heartbreaking, but she has proven resilient, inspiring us all with her strength." And listen to this: That good Samaritan has an encore performance. She will foster Gigi when she is stable enough to leave the animal hospital. What a wonderful gal! In the meantime, Saving Hope could use your help to make this story have a happy ending: Help them pay Gigi's hospital bills. The nonprofit rescue relies on the generosity of animal lovers to keep their lifesaving work going. Please help them restore Gigi's faith in humans and support her on her journey back to being a happy, healthy kitten!

Spottie
Spottie is a 8 month old Mix-Breed in Aledo , TX, who needs $1,000 for Wound Care and Vetting.
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
* Saving Hope Animal Rescue * Spottie was once an indoor kitty, who was dumped alongside an extremely busy highway, thrown away like trash. He was panicked and all alone. It is suspected that he was clipped by a car due to his injury. It is unknown how long he was stranded, but thankfully, he was eventually picked up from the median by a Good Samaritan. Spottie was taken in by Saving Hope Rescue and brought to their vet, Family Pet Care in Fort Worth, Texas. Luckily, Spottie did not have any broken bones, but did have a nasty open wound near his front leg, causing him great pain. Spottie remained at the vet for a few weeks for close monitoring and to get all initial vetting. Spottie is now with a foster, who is keeping a very close eye on his wound. His wound is improving but it is taking longer to close than the vet would like, warranting several trips back and forth from the clinic. Spottie takes it like a champ though! He is in far less pain and is beginning to show his personality. His favorite activity is to crawl into his foster parents lap and take a long nap! Saving Hope Rescue is a non-profit that relies on donations to help hundreds of cats and dogs each year. Please help them in supporting Spottie by donating to his much needed medical care so he can put his tragedy in the past.

A good Samaritan discovered her on the side of the road and was shocked at the extent of her injuries. Genevieve's tail was "degloved." Her skin and fur were ripped from the muscle around her tail, leaving it bare, open, and exposed. She suffered a blow to her head so severe it caused severe damage to her left eye. Genevieve was in shock from all the pain. The person who saved her connected with Saving Hope Animal Rescue, which raced Genevieve to the animal hospital. Her medical team was unsure if she'd make it. They immediately started Genevieve on an IV of fluids, antibiotics, and pain medication and put her on heat support. Once the doctors monitored her, they said she had a chance. Now, Genevieve needs urgent surgery to amputate her tail and additional treatment for her eye. "Degloving is one of the most painful things a cat can experience," Devan Kate S., with Saving Hope, tells Waggle. "We are prepared to fight for this sweet girl." Please give so Genevieve gets a second chance at life!

Amaya
Amaya is a 4-month-old DSH Kitten in Aledo , TX, who needs $1,654 for Treatment and Surgery on Left Back Leg Fracture.
Aledo, TX • Saving Hope Animal Rescue Fund
Amaya was found as a stray with a displaced fracture across the growth plate of her left back leg. At just four months old, this adorable kitten was set for euthanasia at the shelter due to her injury. Saving Hope Animal Rescue brought her into their care the moment they heard about her case. She is now loved and cared for and is getting the medical attention she deserves. Amaya has such a charming little personality. She is friendly to everybody she meets, greeting them with the loudest purr. Despite being in such pain, she hobbles up to everybody and rolls around wanting all the pets. She loves the spotlight! She has huge paws for a kitten her age, giving her the nickname "Big Paws" around the vet. They joke that she is part bobcat since she is such a stout little thing. Amaya is currently at Family Pet Care in Fort Worth, TX. She is seeing an orthopedic surgeon who will be putting a pin in Amaya's leg to save it. Otherwise, she would need amputation. Amaya is such a young kitten at just four months old. Having this surgery will ensure she will live a long happy life with all four of her legs. Please help Saving Hope in caring for Amaya!

"Her back legs were covered in tattered bandages, covered in wounds, and parts of her limbs were missing. It is unknown what Honey has gone through in her life, what caused such traumatic injuries, or how long she has had her wounds." The rescue is committed to getting Honey help, but they need your help! The nonprofit group is raising money for Honey's animal hospital bills. She needs X-rays, medical care, and hydrotherapy to help her wounds. The goal is for Honey to have a long, happy life ahead. "Despite being in such pain, she is so friendly to every person she has met," Laura says. Honey has been so badly neglected, but that ends today! Please give to help Honey get the care she needs and one step closer to finding a forever home filled with love.
