Little Momma
Little Momma is a 6-year-old Rat Terrier in Dallas, TX, who needs $400 for Tooth Abscess.
Dallas, TX • Pooch Savers Rescue
Little Momma came to Pooch Savers Rescue in January of this year following the death of her owner. During our normal vetting process, she unfortunately, because of neglect, tested positive for heartworms, which we treated her for immediately! She finished her treatment in early April. About a week ago, one morning, she woke up with her face all swollen, so much so that her EYES WERE NEARLY SWOLLEN SHUT! We thought maybe she was bitten by a bug or stung by something during the night, and we immediately took her in to see our vet. The vet agreed that all indications pointed to a bug bite or possibly an allergic reaction to something, so she was put on steroids and Benadryl. She is thankfully expected to make a full recovery... We instantly started her on an antibiotic and pain meds, and scheduled her for surgery with Mazie’s Mission. On 4/26/21, the infected tooth was extracted. The vet commented that they had never seen so much pus before, and, had the cause not been determined, she most certainly would have developed blood poisoning, which could have been fatal! Unfortunately, the medications were not working and, after a few days, the swelling got so bad that an area of skin burst open and began to ooze. We immediately took her back to the vet and it was determined NOT to be a bug bite or allergic reaction but a TOOTH ABSCESS!

Lilo
Lilo is a 1-year-old Striped Tabby in Edison, NJ, who needs $2,000 for Brain Surgery due to complications of Hydrocepahlus.
Edison, NJ • SHAHS (Super Hero's Animal Hydrocephalus Society )
Lilo is a 1 yr 11 month, tiny 5.5 lb. failure to thrive kitten with Hydrocephaus & many other disorders, relinquished to the SHAHS sanctuary on 8/17/19 in severe crisis. She was admitted to our hospital & had a human pediatric shunt implanted which failed, so a second was implanted on 10/8/19. The shunt saved her life by draining excess fluid from her brain! She now lives with the Pres. of SHAHS. Lilo lives with 3 humans, 4 Hydro brothers, 5 other special needs cats & 2 senior dogs. She is a silly, loving & pampered little Princess who is doted on 24/7; she demands constant attention! You can always find her in someone's lap or arms, or following mom around screaming to be picked up! She is definitely mommy's little girl, a diva for sure & makes sure everyone knows it! Lilo is a miracle. SHAHS is a nonprofit rescue sanctury operating solely on donations. For the first time, we're struggling due to the Covid Pandemic; we don't have the funds for her surgery! Lilo is the heart & soul of SHAHS & has fought so hard to survive! We aren't going to let her down! Lilo has Hydrocephalus ( aka water on the brain), Syringohydromyelia (excess cerebrospinal fluid pressing/damaging her spinal cord), Syringobulbia (CSF under her brain pressing on brain stem), Megacolon, chronic inflammation of abdominal organs (Triaditis), maxillofacial deformities, bilateral Entropion (repaired), etc. Her neurosurgeon is Eric Glass @ Red Bank Veterinary Hosp, Tinton Falls, NJ. Lilo is an adorable, silly, loyal, loving, one of a kind special needs cat who is incredibly tiny at only 5.5 lbs but has a HUGE personality! She gives kisses on command & is happy spending her day lounging next to mommy on the couch! She plays This Little Piggy on her toes with you & loves when mom plays Do, Re, Mi on her belly! When she's being silly, she flips onto her back for belly rubs

Trinity
Trinity is a 6-year-old Boxer/Lab in Fairbanks, AK, who needs $1,900 for Surgical Hematoma Repair and Post-Care.
Fairbanks, AK
One Christmas 6 years ago, Trinity came to me at 6 weeks old, the runt of the litter and unwanted. Our family likes to tell me I saved her, but the reality is she saved me. We have been living together every since that Christmas day, in Fairbanks, Alaska. I fell on hard times and do my best to provide for her, sacrificing sometimes myself in order to make her as comfortable and happy as possible. Trinity is extremely loving with everyone in the household and out in public. She has the most genuinely happy and outgoing personality. She loves to make sure everyone is okay, if you're sitting still for too long she will be sure to come over for some pets and loving. She is my sunshine every day and is always sure to make me smile through play and pets. Recently, my gallbladder exploded. I passed out from the rupture. My life was saved by Trinity, who woke me up in time to call 911. I underwent surgery, and now have bills I can't pay for myself. She saved my life, all I want now is for her life to be what she deserves. For the past few weeks Trinity had been shaking her head. I felt horrible for her but had no money to pay for help. Her ear couldn't take it anymore and expanded to the size of a baseball. Not knowing what could be done, I drove to Chena Veterinary Clinic, where they accepted Trinity for care, knowing they would not receive payment. They preformed emergency surgery on her ear, and follow up care. Trinity's facial expressions are priceless. She uses her eyebrows and smile to tell me what she's thinking. She is so bright, literally she can open doors. Sometimes, she sits and watches the world, appearing very wise and omniscient. Her ways of communicating and living bring such joy to my heart, and to everyone who crosses her path.

Hecuba Lovelace
Hecuba Lovelace is a 19-year-old Mix in Vancouver, BC, who needs $1,500 for Dental Extraction.
Vancouver
Hecuba was found on the street and surrendered in September. The SPCA was able to identify her from a faded tattoo. She had been adopted as a kitten 19 years earlier. How could such a sweet natured 19 year old cat find herself utterly alone in the world? Unfortunately, no owners could be located. The SPCA waved their adoption fee. We took her home to live with us and our two other senior cats. It was rough for Hecuba at first. She had spent quite some time on the street and wasn’t used to having other cats in her life. But she has adjusted so quickly. She now has her own toys, her own type of food, two heated blankets and a ton of love. She has discovered bacon and loves nothing more than sitting on a warm lap. She has slept between us every night since she arrived. Our other two cats have had insurance since they were kittens which help waylay vet costs, but there are no insurance companies that will cover a 19 year old adopted street cat. We want to give our golden girl a chance at a pain free retirement. She deserves this chance. Our vet, Dr V at Vancouver Animal Wellness, feels that Hecuba needs to have teeth extracted. Because she is 19 and has other medical issues, she may not survive the anesthetic but at this point, the risk of infection by leaving her teeth in may kill her too. She is in significant pain and is currently taking pain medication so she isn’t too uncomfortable, but it’s not a permanent solution. When we adopted Hecuba, the SPCA told us not to expect her to live too long. She has stage 3 kidney disease, she was hypertensive, she has very bad teeth, and was underweight, and she was already 19! It’s been six months since we brought her home. She’s gained two lbs, is no longer hyper tense, and every morning she insists on tearing through the house chasing after her favourite scrunchy ball.

Ruby
Ruby is a 3-year-old Hound mix in Norwalk, CT, who needs $2,000 for emergency surgery to extract adult heart worms.
Norwalk, CT • Pet Animal Welfare Society
Ruby is a super sweet, petite 3 year old Hound/Cur mix who came to PAWS from a shelter in South Carolina. PAWS is a no-kill animal shelter located in Norwalk, CT dedicated to the rescue and adoption of homeless and abused dogs and cats. PAWS is taking in heartworm positive dogs from the south to help them get healthy and find a loving home. Ruby is a very social and calm girl who likes people and loves to give kisses. She was picked up as a stray and is looking forward to settling down with a family that loves her. Can you imagine this beautiful dog searching for food and shelter? Ruby has big beautiful eyes that stare up at you when petted. She is such a sweetie! Everyone loves her! PAWS' mission is to take in the neediest animals and give them a second chance at health, happiness, and love. Taking in the neediest animals comes with financial challenges. Please help PAWS continue to take in animals that need critical social/emotional/medical needs! Removal of such high numbers of worms help eliminate the obstruction. As such, pets that are gravely ill at presentation can return to normal within days after successful worm extraction. PAWS will continue to support her as she undergoes additional heartworm treatment. Ruby is now looking forward to connecting with a family and enjoying many years of joy and love. Ruby's hopes for a forever family were interrupted by the discovery of advanced stage heartworm disease. Ruby went through emergency surgery to remove the adult worms that were causing an obstruction in her heart. The surgeon even counted how many heartworms were surgically removed – a record 146 worms!

MURPH
Murph is a two-year-old Brittany Spaniel Mix in Dallas, TX, who needs $1,900 for a blood transfusion and emergency surgery.
Dallas, TX • Pooch Savers Rescue
When the rescuers at Pooch Savers saw Murph suffering in a South Texas shelter, they bolted into action. The Brittany Spaniel mix's leg was mangled, infected, and sadly needed to be amputated immediately. "The wound was so infected and so bad it exposed the bone," Scott B. with the rescue tells Waggle. "We were petrified." The shelter didn't give Pooch Savers Rescue a lot of information about Murph's injury. The nonprofit group had no idea the extent of medical care the dog would need when they agreed to save him, including a blood transfusion. "The shelter said Murph needed an immediate rescue, or he was at high risk for euthanasia since the shelter doesn’t have the means to take care of a dog like him," Lisa B. with the rescue tells Waggle. "Little Murph stayed strong enough to get out of the shelter and into our rescue, all the while being in excruciating pain, anemic, and he had a lot of fleas that were biting him." The rescue raced him to the Emergency Animal Hospital of Collin County West for medical care. The group wasn't banking on taking in a dog with such severe needs and is hoping donations from giving animal lovers will help them cover Murph's veterinary bills. "This was a sudden and unexpected major expense and has precluded us from rescuing other dogs with medical needs," Lisa says. "We need funds to cover the vet bill." Amazingly, though Murph is still in bad shape, he's been so good during all his procedures. "We know that he’s intelligent, happy, adaptable, and a very sweet boy. He loves affection and giving kisses. As soon as you approach him, he rolls over, so you can rub his belly. He wags his tail every time we walk in the room," Lisa adds. The rescue says Murph is special because he is a fighter and is worth every penny.

Elpis
Elpis is a 0-year-old German Shepherd in Hillman, MN, who needs $1,500 for PRAA: Persistent Right Aortic Arch Repair.
Hillman, MN
I had a third litter of beautiful German Shepherd puppies. At 8 weeks, this puppy went to her new home. The next day I received a text stating she was not keeping anything down, not food or water. I felt more comfortable bringing her back home until I could get her into the vet. I brought her to the vet, they did an x-ray and informed me she had Megaesophagus. Recommended I put her to down. Elpis makes our household a family of 7. I strongly believe she came back into my life because God knew she would be in the best hands, and well taken care of. Elpis lives with her mom and dad, her half brother, two other sisters and brother. So we now have 5 shepherds and 2 pitbulls:) We also have 3 cats. So our household is a zoo. She loves playing with her siblings. We were referred to the U of M Vet Surgery center. I have already spent $500 on these first two vet appointments. The surgery consult at the U will be $233 plus additional x-ray and blood work. Surgery is 4,500+, and we do not have the funds to pay for this necessary surgery Elpis was first diagnosed with Mega esophagus at Garrison Animal Hospital. With the recommendation to put her down, I just couldn't live with that. So I did research about this disease. My vet called me a few days later to see how puppy was doing. I went back and got further testing, underlying cause of ME was PRAA, persistent right aortic arch, which can be corrected with surgery. Referred again. Elpis is special because she is a normal 9 week old puppy other than how she has to eat. Elpis has to eat mushed food in a slurry like form while sitting upright then stay sitting up for 20-30 minutes afterwards to prevent regurgitation. She loves to chase the cats. She loves to play with socks and chew on shoes. Elpis and I have a very special bond because I am the one that feeds here.

Tiger
Tiger is a 1-year-old Domestic Shorthair in Canton, OH, who needs $1,887 for symphyseal osteotomy.
Canton, OH
All my family's cats have come in as rescues. even when I say "no more", my kids will bring me an animal in need and I don't have the heart to turn anyone away. The latest rescue came with some medical issues. I told my 11 yo we should turn him over to the humane society or a rescue, but those two bonded really fast. So here I am trying to figure out how to get him the medical care he needs. My youngest kiddo brought in a kitten last winter and "hid" him in his room. The two of them bonded really quickly. The kitten is just the sweetest lil baby, even in pain he doesn't lash out. The vet techs at the ER said he was sucking his own paw rather than biting any of them. With his injuries he isn't very kitten like; he doesn't run, jump or play but he will snuggle on your lap all day long. This kitten has taken us on quite a journey. With all the medical treatment up to this point I just don't have the money for the next surgery. I told my kiddo we couldn't afford it but he's so heartbroken I have to try. Dr. Owen at Yellow Creek Animal Hospital is the most amazing vet ever. He has done the best to meet us where we are and still give the kitten the best care. We started out with a broken leg requiring 2 surgeries and follow ups. It healed well but we just discovered a second issue, the growth plates in his hips are damaged so he requires another surgery. Tiger is a silly baby and a super snuggler. Even when he isn't feeling well he just wants all the love. He has bonded with my 11 year old and is "his cat". My kiddo is heartbroken that his cat needs care and he doesn't want to have to give him away to a rescue, so I am doing everything I can to get the funding together for his treatment.

Kisame
Kisame is a 3-year-old Flame-Point Siamese Mix in Riverside, CA, who needs $200 for a minor dental extraction.
riverside, CA
I am a foster youth who picked up a pregnant cat when I had just left the system. Her name was Ginger, she gave birth to three beautiful tabbies and this handsome fella! He was born on March 23, 2017, currently 3 1/2 years- old! We live together in a transitional housing program where he helps me as an ESA. My cat is my emotion support animal. He helps me with my anxiety, depression, and anger. He enjoys cuddles, treats, and plays with the ESA dog that my roommate has, his name is Oliver. Kisame loves to lay in his bed, the couch, follow me around the house, stalk me in the bathroom, and wake me up at 5am on the dot every morning to be fed. I am an aged-out foster youth, living in transitional housing. My cat provides me with emotional support as well as companionship. I got laid off due to covid and have found it hard to work. My cat means the world to me and my sanity, and I would rather not put him down. My cat has stomatitis gingivitis, and I am paying for most of the medical expenses. He has an infection in the gums, and it is treatable with a teeth cleaning, and if severe enough teeth extraction, and I CANNOT fully pay for the rest of the bill. It is at Norco Animal Hospital, I was denied care credit and scratch pay, this is my last option. Why is my cat special? Because he is cross -eyed, and has an eye problem, but like I do! And I think thats just wonderful. He comes when called and knows his name Kisame and Kissy! He's a very sweet and loving boy who loves bags and treats maybe more than me. He is emotionally intelligent and understands my needs without training. Idiosyncratic behavior? He loves to sit and stare at the walls.

Hank
Hank is an 11-year-old Calico in Lake Country, BC, who needs $1,400 for a Urinary Tract Flush.
Lake Country
Hank was rescued as a kitten, and has had a well travelled life with his owner. We have worked and lived in many different places, and now he lives the life of luxury near a lake, and loves to just lie in the sun. Hank has always been a staple in our household, greeting everyone who comes into our home. Hank is not your stereotypical cat, he has always been very social, and makes new friends with everyone he meets. People are always talking about Hank, and even people who don’t like cats love him! He’s in tune with his people, willing to lie on your chest and snuggle when you’ve had a bad day, and cares so much for those he loves. He’s one in a million, and we can’t imagine life without him. Covid has caused us to be laid off, we are trying to make ends meet with part time jobs, but there is no extra money at this time. Hank has saved my life, literally, and we need to save his now. Hank has always been happy and healthy, until one evening he began growling and crying. We sat with him while he cried and tried to make him feel better. The next day we took him to the vet, and they informed us he has a blocked urinary tract, and couldn’t urinate. He needs an operation to fix it or it will claim his life. We are seeing Dr Julia Grey at Panorama Vet Clinic in Lake Country, BC. Hank has always been so kind and loving. We’ve been through some really tough times, and Hank always seems to know when we’re struggling. He will sleep on your chest and try to calm you down, he loves to give kisses and will always bump his head into yours to make sure you know he’s there. He is the master of facial expressions! You always know if he’s happy, or annoyed.

Pearl
Pearl is a 4-year-old Mix in Palm Springs , CA, who needs $900 for surgery to correct cherry eye.
Palm Springs, CA
Pearl came into my life at one of the lowest times in my life. I lost my beloved dog Parker suddenly and traumatically. The Emergency vet hospital did all they could. I had to make that awful decision. I entered into a deep depression for about a month then I went to the shelter and they had a litter of puppies. I made the decision to save a female pup. Pearl helped with the pain and healed me. My Pearl has 8 spots in my apartment that are hers. There is a blanket or bed in each spot for her comfort. In her yard there are four sunning spots she favors. She loves her morning walks, which are about 30 minutes right now as I am still recovering from chemotherapy. I tire quickly and Pearl loves to walk fast. Throughout my chemo treatments she stuck right by me. Without her I would perish. I’m on a fixed low income and had a reserve for Pearl. I had to use that for the allergies and digestive issues she was having. All of that is resolved. Just need to fix her cherry eye now. I believe this would solve a lot and I can have my beautiful pearl back to normal. Pearl has what is called cherry eye. There is a photo of her with it popped out. She has always eye issues due to allergies but this is different. The cherry eye has popped out in both eyes periodically but have always resolved with eye drops and gentle massage to ease the prolapsed tear duct back into place. Dr Carter at Carter animal hospital says she needs surgery. Pearl has her two legged friends Chris and Mike, she adores both of them so much. I kind of get jealous 🥺 she is completely different with me. She has her four legged friends but because of COVID they are all separated right now. She likes to talk to me all the time. When she is ready to eat she stands by her bowl and gently barks her demand and then she talks just to talk.

Sansa
Sansa is a three-year-old Shepherd Mix in Stone Mountain, GA, who needs $1,500 for emergency care.
Stone Mountain, GA • Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends
Animal rescuers know heartbreaking cases come with the territory. Sadly, they're used to seeing dogs and cats in hideous shape, cowering and abused. But when the crew at Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends (AARF) first saw Sansa, even they were shocked. "Someone abandoned this sweet girl at AARF," Susan L., from the rescue, tells Waggle. "She had a short piece of clothesline tied to an old, filthy collar. She was starving and barely able to walk, but her tail just wags. She still has some faith that someone will be nice to her. We are calling her Sansa, Queen of the North because she is a beautiful redhead who has been through some hell!" Susan is so thankful the Shepherd mix was abandoned at their shelter. "Luckily, she ended up with a rescue group and not in the middle of the street or dying alone in the woods," Susan says. > The AARF staff rushed Sansa to see veterinarian Françoise Tyler at Village Vets in Stone Mountain, Georgia. The dog only weighed 26 pounds, that's half of what she was supposed to weigh. The medical staff immediately went to work to help Sansa. "Sansa is severely malnourished," Susan adds. "She is also heartworm positive, which will need to be treated once she is strong enough." Any emergency medical case a rescue takes hits them right in their bank account. They stress over paying the vet bills and raising enough money to help the animals they save. In AARF's case, the group turned to Waggle for assistance. Now we're asking for YOUR help to help give Sansa a bright 2021! With medical care, she's expected to recover and become the happy dog she was meant to be. "Sansa is the sweetest dog and loves everyone she meets. Even when she was so weak, she just wagged her tail and waited for a kind word or a soft pet," Susan says. "She has a long way to go, but this girl has a zest for life and is ready to live a happy and healthy life again."

Roxy
Roxy is a 12-year-old Pitbull Mix in Kingston, NY, who needs $2,000 for Lung Cancer Treatment Options.
Kingston, NY
I wanted a senior dog because they are the sweetest dogs. I adopted Roxy from a rescue group in NY. She was in foster care about 2 months when I adopted her last year. Prior to that, she was surrendered to the Brooklyn Shelter by a pet sitter because the owner never came back for her. But when I went to see Roxy that first day, surrounded by 4 other dogs, she KNEW I was there for her. Roxy adjusted pretty easy to her new home. She has kitty siblings whom she loves to give big kisses to. She is playful at times but ultimately loves to nap and get massages. It's hard for me to comprehend her cancer. She has no symptoms but I don't want to wait until it's too late. I want to do all I can for her despite my financial situation. I know God will provide the means to care for her. I was planning to get pet insurance for Roxy, but when Covid hit, it was difficult to find a job to cover all my bills. I now have a retail job and I was literally weeks from getting Roxy on pet insurance when a mass was found on her right lung. I took her to the Vet for an Xray of her elbow from joint pain. In doing so, the Vet noticed a mass on her lung. I was referred to Dr. Jennifer McDaniel, an oncologist at Newtown Veterinary Services in Connecticut. Ultimately, the best treatment for a primary tumor is surgery for a longer life of 2 years. Roxy is a very happy dog. Since her diagnosis, she seems even sweeter, if that makes any sense. She smiles with that typical pit bull smile all the time. She loves to give kisses rather than receive them. She loves her kitty siblings too. Despite her severe joint issues, she still loves going for walks and laying in the sun.

Sunny
Sunny is a 3-year-old Calico in Dingess, WV, who needs $1,000 for surgery.
dingess, WV
This is sunny. She's three years old and last night after two days of missing we heard her making noise outside like she was fighting with something. We were scared and ran outside and there was a coyote grabbing her by her leg and shaking her around. My boyfriend grabbed a rake and made the coyote run off. Sunny is the kindest, sweetest cat ever. I live in West Virginia and there are tons of coyotes so we keep her inside of course but two days ago she pushed open the screen to our window and escaped. We were worried sick; we have looked for her are are horrified by what happened. She doesn't deserve this because she's the kindest soul I've ever met and I can never forgive myself but she needs help. I'm a student who lives in a one bedroom loft, if I had to lose her even to get her some help it would kill me but I would do it because seeing her in pain is killing me. I have nothing to sell worth the price of the surgery and the humane society says they would put her down. Sunny has never had any medical problems before, I tried contacting every single vet within 3 hours of my home to found someone, anyone who can help with a payment plan but no one can. I tried care credit but I'm a student with student loans so I cannot get approved. I've begged and pleaded but no one will help me. Everything about her makes me smile and laugh and I'm scared to death to lose her. I would be willing to do anything in this world to not see her in pain, and it's completely my fault for owning a cat and not being able to help her if something happened. I'm a 22 year old college student and i never thought this would happen. I'm desperate.

Butterball
Butterball is a blind 5-year-old Lab Mix in Menomonee Falls, WI, who needs $1527 for emergency care.
Menomonee Falls, WI
Butterball was born blind. Then her owners dumped her at a shelter where the puppy sat for more than a month. No one seemed to want the Lab mix until Barb T. met her. She adopted Butterball on the spot. > "She is so cute, and she is very playful. I just needed to have this dog. I was lucky enough to get her," she tells Waggle. "Never in a million years did I think I'd have a blind dog." To help welcome Butterball home, Barb looked up sorts of tips to help blind dogs adapt to new places. But soon Barb realized Butterball doesn't know she's blind. "The stairs were a challenge, but she got used to that really quickly," Barb says. "All her senses are heightened; she knows when she's in front of something." The pair have been inseparable now for five years. "I was meant to have her, and she was meant to have me. It's my job to care for her and stays healthy," Barb says. So recently, when Butterball started vomiting uncontrollably, Barb raced her to Mayfair Animal Hospital. "I thought maybe she had eaten something. Then it just got worse; everything she ate, she was vomiting back up. The vet gave her some fluids and nausea medication, and that didn't work." Barb was worried, and Butterball was admitted to the hospital. "I was lost. I was really lost without her," Barb says. "I had a heavy heart. I could not fathom losing my dog at such a young age. Butterball and I bonded in such a strong way." Veterinarians ran tests and could not figure out the cause. "She did not eat anything weird. They did X-rays on her stomach trying to see if there was a blockage, they didn't see anything. The vets are talking about doing surgery to pinpoint a cause." > Barb has not physically been able to work for more than a year and depleted all her savings. She started selling her belongings to try to pay for Butterball's tests and possible surgery. Barb says it's her job to take care of Butterball, something she pledged the day she adopted her. Can you help Barb and Butterball?

Odin
Odin is a 5-year-old German Shephard in Southport, CT, who needs $2,000 for emergency heart surgery.
Southport, CT
When Odin didn't make it as a police dog, he ended up as a firefighter's pooch. He came into Robert V.'s life just when he and his wife, Barbara, needed some happiness. "We had a series of tragedies happen," Barbara tells Waggle. Robert's parents died within months of one another. Then their family dog passed away unexpectedly due to an aggressive form of cancer. "There was so much sadness," Barbara says. While all this was taking place, Odin was, well... flunking out of police dog training. When Robert, a firefighter, heard about Odin, he picked him up and brought him home. It was like it was meant to be. "He brought life back to the house. It was such a sad place before we got him," Barbara says. Odin fit in perfectly. He's now five years old, and their family could not be happier. Recently Barbara brought Odin to the vet for a routine appointment and got terrible news: he has a heart murmur and needs surgery to correct it. Without the surgery, Odin could die from cardiac arrest. > "We were horrified. We were terrified," Barbara adds. "He had a very serious condition we would not have known about if he didn't go in for a routine appointment." The medical team at Garden State Veterinary Specialists say Odin is projected to do well with surgery. But right now is a tough time financially for Barbara and Robert. Barbara's business is down due to the pandemic, and they can't afford the operation. "We must save Odin," she says. "We cannot have any more tragedy in our family." Barbara and Robert are hoping Waggle and the organization's generous donors can help. The couple says Odin may not have made it a police dog, but he's the perfect dog for them. He's exactly where he is supposed to be.

Maisey
Maisey is a 13-year-old Beagle in Huntsville, AL, who needs $723 for an amputation of second digit of left forelimb.
Huntsville, AL
I adopted Maisey from a family that was relocating, and couldn't take her with them. Maisey doesn't like riding in cars. She has been a companion to my children for the past several years. Both children have anxiety, and I feel she has been a great comfort to them. She is a sweet dog who just wants to be petted and loved. Maisey sleeps in a comfy bed in the dining room where she can see everyone coming and going. She has taught our other dog, a pitbull mix, to be brave, especially when it comes to going out in the rain. The whole family takes turns walking her. She is an old lady, and is not as playful as she used to be, but she enjoys giving and receiving affection. Our finances have been tight since my father passed away two years ago, and we lost our family home. We're still trying to get back on solid ground. My son will be devastated if we can't help Maisey. We also have another dog who will be depressed if he doesn't have Maisey. We took Maisey on a walk about two weeks ago, and noticed her paw was bleeding when we brought her in. We took her to Countryside Veterinary Hospital in Toney, AL, and found out she has a tumor. They say she has bone cancer. They said it hasn't spread yet. The prognosis looks good if we can get her toe amputated. Maisey is a very social dog, and wants to make friends with everyone on two legs or four. When she was younger, she used to dance around on her hind legs in the hope she could charm you into giving her a treat. Maisey also loves frolicking in the snow (we don't get much around here). The first time I saw her running around in the snow, it was so cute. She was like a little puppy.

Pippi
Pippi is a Ragdoll/Calico kitten in Topeka, KS, who needs $305 for exam, vaccines, and feline spay.
Topeka, KS
After losing my sweet 14-year-old cat, Spice, due to cancer, I was – and still am – devastated. Spice’s death hit me hard. My niece suggested I adopt a new kitten or cat. I was unsure if it was the right time to do so, but my niece convinced me that having a new kitten would help me cope with my grief. I’m disabled, physically and emotionally, and need a companion pet. Even though Pippi has been with me for only 6 days, we’ve already bonded. Pippi’s sweet, loving nature has filled my heart with hope. I live alone and having Pippi makes my days more tolerable. Her silliness during play time makes me laugh and smile. But I'm most grateful for her affectionate ways and how she spends lots of time giving me love. I live on a fixed income which doesn't give me much money left over by the time rent and bills are paid. I know the responsible thing to do would've been to wait until I saved enough money, but my heart won out over reason. It'll be devastating if I have to give Pippi up. Pippi has never been seen by a vet but I decided to adopt her because my heart told me she was the one for me. I want to get her seen ASAP to get a thorough physical and all necessary vaccinations. I also want to spay her ASAP, because I read it’s best to do so before she goes into her first heat, which can happen at any time. I just wasn’t prepared for how much it's all going to cost. Pippi likes to follow me all over the apartment. Her curiosity knows no bounds! I named her Pippi because of how she quietly squeaks more than meows. I started calling her “pipsqueak”, then decided to name her Pippi, not only because of the sound she makes, but also because the Pippi Longstocking books were some of my favorites as a child.

Pickles
Pickles is a 9-year-old Blue Heeler in Conroe, TX, who needs $680 for Eye Enucleation.
Conroe, TX
Thank you all for the Love and Support! Getting closer to the goal everyday! She got the name Pickles because she wouldn't respond to anything else for almost two weeks and when she tried to eat a pickle off of the table I left over for my lunch. She responded. She is such a smart and happy dog usually. Seeing her in so much pain has been difficult. She lives with us and our other dog Chilli and three kitty cats. She loves playing with her squeaky Piggies and obviously sneaking treats in between feeding sessions. She used to love running around in the backyard up and down the fence line and barking at all the noises. My hope is after the surgery she will go back to her old self except maybe bump in a few things more often. During this Covid Crisis money has been tight for a lot of people but it's really hard to keep a backup of that much money on a regular basis. So every little bit donated could help. Pickles started having problems with her eyes a month or so ago. We noticed it would start to ooze and or become uncomfortable for her to keep open. One morning it got so bad she couldn't open her eyes at all so we took her to Stone Ridge Veterinary Medical via an appointment. They told us that it was glaucoma in both eyes and that she was blind. That she needed to have Eye Enucleation. She gets so excited when you squeeze her squeaker toys she wiggles her butt even though she doesn't have a tail. Nothing gets her more excited at the one you try to play keep-away with her baby and she think it's so bouncy and excited demanding that you give her back her toy with grunts and pounces.

Cricket
Cricket is a 11-year-old Heeler/Terrier in Omaha, NE, who needs $500 for Cushing's Syndrome test, x-rays and EKG for heart murmur.
Omaha, NE
We adopted Cricket from Hearts United For Animals 5 years ago. She picked us. She had been there for 3 years, and in all of that time no one asked to meet her. That was all we needed to hear. She was ours. She came home with us that day. Since then she has settled right in, and we love her with all of our heart. She loves toys and treats and walks. Cricket sleeps wherever she wants. We have beds in the living room and bedroom. She used to sleep on the bed quite often, but can't jump up there anymore. She still sleeps with us occasionally, but she prefers to be in her bed in case she needs to get a drink of water. She loves to take walks and smell everything there is to smell. Her love of plush toys is legendary. Our income has been affected by Covid-19 and other pressing issues. I have been working really hard to have enough funds to get these needed tests done, but bills keep piling up. She desperately needs these tests. Cricket was diagnosed with diabetes in March. We have been working really hard to make the necessary adjustments to her food and treats. We have even found a new vet with more experience at Ralston Vet. We haven't been able to get her blood glucose numbers under control, so it's possible she also has Cushing's Syndrome. Cricket's bff is a black lab named Jin. They are so cute together! Cricket makes us laugh every day. Sometimes it's the way she plays, or noises she makes, or when she gives kisses. She loves to play with her toys. She likes to play tug, and then shake the toy... eventually tearing into it to remove the stuffing and finding the squeaker.
Berkley
Berkley is a Maltipoo puppy in Lincoln, NE, who needs $2,000 for a heart murmur.
Lincoln, NE
My 15 year old daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes April 27, 2020. She has always wanted a dog. This year has been challenging with covid and diabetes. I finally gave in. We got a Maltipoo and named her Berkley. We are so grateful for Berkley and wonder how we have been without a pet for so long. She brings so much joy and laughter in our lives. She also is an ESA for my daughter. Berkley has a very peaceful, playful, loving spirit. Very inquisitive, loves to be around people and to be a part of everything that we do. She loves car rides. They put her to sleep. If she hears the slightest movement of keys, she will run to the door, ready to leave. She loves to go on walks and loves to meet new people along the way. I am a single mom of 2 girls. We fell in love with Berkley the day we met her at 8 weeks old. She is now 5 months old. We really want to help Berkley's quality of life to be lived to the fullest potential without having to worry when she will start to suffer from PDA. Berkley has PDA (heart mur mur) On a scale of 1-6, with 6 being the worst, she is at a 5. The doctor says her life span is anywhere from 2-6 years and that it is imperative that she gets surgery ASAP. Surgery is corrective (it will fix her 100%) and she will live a long healthy life without any heart problems. Surgery will be done at Veterinary Health Center at Kansas State University. Berkley is so funny, all the time. She loves to play with ice. She gets it in her mouth and throws it around and growls and barks at it playfully. She also does that with our socks. While we play with her, she will interchange her toys out with us because she loves to play with every toy that she has.

Luca
Luca is a 3-year-old Cane Corso in New Smyrna Beach , FL, who needs $2,000 for TPLO surgery.
New Smyrna Beach, FL
Luca was originally purchased by a couple from a breeder and soon after he developed Parvo and was deathly ill. It was also determined that he had an umbilical hernia that needed to be repaired. The new owners could not afford his surgery bill and surrendered him to the SPCA of Wake county, where I worked at the time. I fell in love with him instantly and I knew he was meant to be mine. Luca sleeps in my bed with me every night. He loves taking naps, going for walks, the dog beach, running, playing with other dogs and he is great with kids. He loves treats and lives for food. He is such a lover boy and is the sweetest dog I’ve ever known. He is the true definition of a gentle giant. I currently work as a patient care Tech. As much as I love my job, I am struggling to make ends meet. I hope to go back to school to become a nurse but this is on the back burner for now. I am unable to pay for this pressing and important surgery for my sweet boy. Luca tore his ACL and needs to have a TPLO surgery. It’s a very expensive but necessary surgery and needs to be done ASAP. I unfortunately can not afford this surgery, even with the help of pet insurance. My fur baby is my entire life and it breaks my heart to see him in pain and missing out on so much. He needs and deserves this surgery and we would be eternally grateful for your help. Luca loves everyone he meets, both humans and animals. He is 100% a mommas boy but he also is especially found of my sister-who lives with us- and my mom-his grandma. Luca lives with my other dog and my cat as well as my sisters dog. They all love to play, walk, swim, and nap together. Luca is such a goofy silly boy. He is not always the brightest but that’s part of what makes him so special.

Gracie
Gracie is a 2-year-old Mixed in Dewey, AZ, who needs $650 for Exploratory surgery and Intestinal repair.
Dewey, AZ
We got Gracie from YHS in February of 2018. She came to us as an EMS for my 6 year old son. She has 3 doggie siblings, a purebred Husky, whom we lost in April. A Border Collie whom in 12 years young and a Queensland who in 11 years young. All very active and LOVES thier family. She is normally a very happy puppy. Gracie sleeps with my 6 year old son. When he is sad, she lays on his lap with her head and kisses him and loves on him until he feels better. She also helps my daughter, my other son and myself through some of our mental break downs. She likes to go for walks with the kids and is very protective of her family. We are struggling due to covid and just getting back to work... She is an ESA and makes everyone's day better just by looking at them. She needs to be able to go around with her kid again... She started acting funny and vomiting everywhere. She couldn't keep anything down. Not even water. We took her in and was told she had a foreign object in her stomach and her intestines were damaged. We came to Prescott Animal Hospital and Dr. Kilian because no one else would work with us in our financial struggle and save my ESA. She is very hyper. When we take her into the back yard, she runs around the fence line several times like she's at a doggie race track. She likes to help cook, she tastes the food to make sure it tastes ok. She will let us know when her water dish needs a refill. She will pick it up and bring it to us no matter where in the house we are.

Troggdor
Troggdor is a 11-year-old Short Haired Tabby in Colorado Springs, CO, who needs $4,000 for cyst removal.
Colorado Springs, CO
Her name is Troggdor and she rescued me 10 years ago. In 2009, I was called to serve in Baghdad. I had been in Iraq for 2 months when I got the news that my cat, Gwen, had been diagnosed with cancer. It spread quickly and his quality of life deteriorated faster than I thought imaginable. Treatment was not an option. Gwen’s caretaker while I was deployed, Jeremy, comforted him until he passed away. Grieving while being deployed was not easy. The stress of my reality of being in an active war zone compiled with my grief of my loss made each day tougher than the last. I could feel myself slipping. Jeremy must have sensed it and found someone who had newborn kittens who needed a home. He sent me pictures but I wasn’t interested; however, eventually I agreed. I needed a kitty to home to. She rescued me and I am panicking. How can I rescue her? Where do I go from here? I absolutely cannot resort to economic euthanasia. Please. Please help me rescue Troggdor. She has a cyst in her stomach. To quote the vet, “I have never seen a cyst this large in a cat. It’s pushing on her kidneys so much so, that we couldn’t find her left kidney in the ultrasound.” The vet drained the cyst. Troggdor felt like her happiest self again. But it quickly refilled. I had a multitude of tests done. “You really need to consider surgery before it damages her organs.” Over the next couple months, I watched her grow through photos and videos. She was so sweet. I couldn’t wait to meet her and we took to each other immediately. She loves to play fetch with her toy bird (see video) and help me study. She’s travelled with me from Germany, to the Azores, Alaska, and now Colorado with her dog sister Kyoko. Troggdor rescued me. And now I need help rescuing her.

Chubbs
Chubbs is a 7-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier in Bourbon, IN, who needs $600 for testing and possible cancer.
Bourbon, IN
Chubbs came into my life when my youngest daughter was first born. We had his sister and knew they would get along. I lost her in 2017. I had a lot of convincing to do with my mom to wanting to keep Chubbs. His looks are intimidating but he is the biggest baby. He doesn’t bark, best cuddles and just wants your lovings! Our kids love Chubbs. At first he wasn’t too such being around kids but he knew when to back up and he didn’t mind being tripped over and loved on! I couldn’t have asked for a better dog! He knows when your sad or need a shoulder to leave on. He loves to go bye bye. Especially to my grandparents and visiting. I know the time we live are some what difficult for some financial wise. But with my boyfriend just getting a new job and trying to catch up with bills, we just need a little bit of help. About two weeks ago things started turning bad for him. He started to refuse food. Wanting more water. So then he started to lose weight fast! I didn’t know what was going on! He is being seen today at Bourbon Veterinary Hospital. They had to keep him to give him fluids and do some more test. They aren't exactly sure what is going on, but they think it’s cancer in his stomach or small intestine. He just has the look in his eyes that make you want to love on him! Everyone thinks he is mean and scary but people truly need to get to know him and that he is neither of them. He is always there to greet you when you get home and have that look that he has missed you while you were away. If you know him personally, you know how much he means to me!

Bailey
Bailey is a 3-year-old Shih Tzu Terrier Mix in Eatontown, NJ, who needs $568 for treatment and pain management for scabs on his head, neck, and ears.
Richmond, VA
I am 67 years and I live alone. I don't get a lot of money from social security. I have had Bailey for 4 years now and I can't imagine life without him. He saved my life so many times and I thank God for him every day. I could not afford to give him all the things he needs to have a happy life, so I am asking YOU for help! I live in a one bedroom apartment, with a backyard that he plays in. Bailey has a good life with me. If I don't eat, he does. I take him everywhere I go. He is a registered service dog. I am a Vet and have PTSD, and Bailey is my life line to get involved with people I don't know. He has a brother named Trouble, (a cat ). I have no family here so it's just me, Bailey and Trouble and they are a handful if you know what I mean, LOL! After he gets to the Vet and gets treatment, I know I will be able to take care of him the right way. I am on a fixed income so I can't pay for all the treatment needed. Bailey is my baby, I cannot lose him! Bailey has scabs on his head, neck, and ears. He has not been eating the last week or so. He can't get any sleep because he is scratching all the time. He does not want to play with his brother or his toys. Bailey is being seen at Shrewsbury Animal Hospital in Tinton Falls, NJ I pray that I can get the help he needs to come through this and be happy again! Bailey is three years old. Bailey can make me smile when I don't want to. He stands on his back and dances for me, I call it his meerkat dance. When I am down, he can just look at me with his big brown eyes and it's like he is saying " MOMMY what is wrong, can I help " and I just MELT. I LOVE him so much! Please help me keep my dog! He saved my life when he let my next door neighbor know I stopped breathing. He barked!

Luna
Luna is a 2-year-old Lab Mix in Gainesville, FL, who needs $2,000 for Rectal Carcinoma Excision.
Gainesville, FL
Luna (or as she's affectionately known as: Looney Toon) was rescued at 1 month old from an organisation in Central Florida that flies to high-kill shelters across the Southeast US and saves puppies about to be euthanized. Two years later, she lives with my partner and I in our house with a big yard that she loves to run in. She sleeps in bed, and snuggles with us on the couch. She's family. Looney has become our unofficial therapy dog. I got her after leaving an abusive relationship to help with living on my own again. She learned on her own to help me with my panic attacks, Now she does the same for my partner, too. She's a 60lb lap baby with no personal space, and we love her that way. Her favorite treats are bananas and carrots, and adores going to the park to play with everyone. We can barely afford rent right now, and weren't prepared for this. I'm in physical therapy for my back and shoulder, and am about to be removed from my health insurance. I don't know how I'm going to be able to afford both of health costs, and keep us fed and under our roof After about a year of seemingly random GI issues, we biopsied some abnormal tissue to discover it was a rectal carcinoma in situ. We were referred to UF Veterinary Hospital, where Dr. Bertran confirmed Luna's diagnosis of rectal cancer. Luna has trouble defecating, and is left with a lot of blood we have to wipe up when she does. She's currently on NSAIDs for swelling and pain. Our big baby is terrified of thunder, and big scary boom boom days are hard. She likes to hide in my bathtub when scared. She's big goofball and loves to sit and lay in almost cat-like positions. She also enjoys being held like a baby if you're strong enough to lift her. She's never met a human or animal she doesn't love, and her entire body wags with her tail when she gets excited. She's pure joy.

Domino
Domino is a 10-year-old Black Mouth Curr in Hutto, TX, who needs $731 for Dental Prophylaxis.
Hutto, TX
Domino is a rescue I took in 2 years ago. It's clear from her multiple scars, she had a rough start and her living situation at the time I took her in was fraught with frequent episodes of being hit with toys from kids, her ears and tail pulled and yanked, basically a less than ideal situation for an old girl just wanting to relax and enjoy her golden years. Domino was portrayed as aggressive and unpredictable but from my first interaction with her, I only saw a sweet and loving old girl that wanted to shower you with kisses. I knew she'd be a lovely friend for my other rescue; Shipley, that also came from a rough start and the two hit it off immediately. They are an inseparable pair. She's been a great addition to our family. This year has been the Queen of unexpected expenses for EVERYONE. From $1600 vehicle repairs & $1300 dental expanders for my son to additional childcare costs from school closing. It's been a stretch but we love our girl and hope to get her treatment soon. When I took Domino in, she was fairly healthy with the exception of noticeable bad breath and tooth decay. It was pretty clear she had not had any real dental care during her life. A recent exam showed she is still doing well but has some advanced dental and gum issues that left untreated can lead to systemic infections and is currently affecting her ability to chew her food and treats properly. Dom-Dom; as my son calls her, is a lap dog at heart. She loves to cuddle and snooze on her pillow. She never misses an opportunity to steal a kiss if you get too close. Her other favorite is belly rubs. She's often found lounging with feet in the air and if you start to give her a scratch behind the ear, it won't be long before she's rolling over to invite her beloved tummy rubs.

Muki
Muki is a 3-year-old chihuahua in Osprey, FL, who needs $290 for Dental.
Osprey, FL
Muki was adopted on Easter 2017, and has been with us ever since. She became the little sister to Kyva as she entered our family. She lives with a liver shunt & has intermittent seizures. However, that hasn't stopped her from parkouring around the house, twirling like a ballerina, whooing like Chewbacca, and being a personal space invader. She lives with a constant smile that brightens your day! Muki is the little sister to Kyva and just as her sister has grown into a Daddy's girl. She loves to go on car rides, walks, plays with her sister, & be held by Daddy. She is a sunbather and a sock & underwear stealer. If not cuddled with her sister, she loves to be snuggled with her parents. Muki is loved by everyone in the family and is especially spoiled by her grandmother. COVID-19 has extremely impacted Muki's Dad's ministry & his counseling business. At this time we are seeking help for her dental extractions. We would be joyful in knowing that not only can she eat comfortably, but she will have better breath for a long happy life! Muki was rescued at 4mo old & came with no medical history. At around 6mo she had her first seizure. Diagnosis was that she has a liver shunt and this causes intermittent seizures. At her last check-up at Humane Society of Manatee County, she was found to have multiple impacted teeth & due to this, bacteria & infection-causing medical concerns. What makes Muki special is her personality. Sometimes it seems that she is channeling Elvis or Stallone as her lip curls on one side. At other times it's like she channels either Chewbacca or an elephant with the way she howls. What also makes her special is that she has no understanding of personal space. If she's not sticking her nose up your nose to say hi she is found sitting on her sister.

Mercedes
Mercedes is a 6-month-old Boxer/Heeler Mix in Aurora, CO, who needs $700 for Femoral head osteotomy .
Aurora, CO
Mercedes is a rescue from New Mexico I adopted her from the Colorado puppy rescue which is an amazing puppy rescue. Mercedes is 6 months old and is added to a family of five children. So technically she's the baby because my youngest is 1 years old. Mercedes is full of life. She likes to share toys and food with the baby their besties. Mercedes loves to play fetch to love taking walks with me and the baby and the kids. She's an outdoorsy dog and very smart. She can sit in the yard with no leash and she knows the difference between baby and play. Her favorite thing to do is sleep of course. But she loves all of her toys and the babies. Unfortunately I'm the only one working in the house right now I'm a mom of 5. Covid hit my hours were reduced extremely for March through May. This was so unexpected and unfortunately I'm drowning in bills right now. She needs surgery I refuse to amputate she deserves this! Unfortunately back in April of 2020 Mercedes was hit by a car while eating snow on the curb in front of our house. The car slid and hit her right in front of our house on the sidewalk. We brought her into the Red Rocks Vet Clinic and they said that she was fine and would recover but had a small fracture upper hip. But unfortunately when we brought her back he stated that she would now need surgery Mercedes is so special because she's very calm mannered and aware of her surroundings. She doesn't bark or make noise unless she's sleeping and chasing something in her dreams. She has a very calm Spirit to her, and seems to follow the babies directions when it comes to pulling toilet paper around the house or finding a makeup sponge to eat. Then walking away and leaving the baby to take the blame

Luna
Luna is a 7-year-old Poodle mix in East Haven, CT, who needs $5,000 for burn treatments.
East Haven, CT
The loss Kasey M. and her family experienced are unfathomable. It all started when her husband, Robert, a firefighter, got a department emergency alert on his phone. He was shocked to see the address of their home flash across his screen. "He called me and said, 'You need to get home. Our house is on fire!'' Kasey tells Waggle. She knew all their kids were out of the house but was worried sick about their animals. When she got to her street, fire engines blocked the road, she couldn’t get through. She pulled her car over, threw it into park, and started running toward her house. "I could smell the burning plastic, and I could tell it was really bad," Kasey says. "A volunteer firefighter jumped in the car with the dog warden and kept the oxygen on her, while the police gave them an escort to Central Animal Hospital," Kasey adds. She was devastated to learn seven of her pets, two dogs, four cats, and one rabbit were killed in the fire. "The animals were all in the backyard under a tarp. I couldn't bring myself to go back there," Kasey says. The only one to survive was Luna, an adorable Poodle mix, who was already on her way to the emergency room. The fire was out, but the scene was chaotic and surreal. Rescue crews told her they pulled all eight of her pets out of the house and tried to save them. "The firefighters worked on all the animals in my backyard and tried to resuscitate them," Kasey said. "There were more firefighters trying to work on my animals than in my house.”

Madelyn
Madelyn is a 8 week-old Kitten Decatur , GA, who needs $945 for Upper respiratory infection .
Decatur, GA
I’m fundraising for Madelyn, a beautiful gray kitty who was recently abandoned in a parking lot along with 2 sisters and a brother. I was advised to keep the kittens in a cage until my big cats got used to them. Even in that cage, Madelyn and Pierre had so much fun. They climbed the door of the cage and swung around like little monkeys but whenever I opened the door they would race to explore. Madelyn is Absolute sweetheart. She hops and skips everywhere she goes and when she was feeling better she would fight her brother and they look like little ninjas together. She loves to take naps on my ample bosom! She has already made my adult cats here for her. My kitty queen, Shadow, looks after her and makes Sure she follows the rules. I work full time for my local government but I am also a single Mom and I don’t want my son To have this foster kitty die as he has already experienced more death in his 14 year life than any child should.. Madelyn has an upper respiratory infection and is under treatment with the Village Vets, a 24 hour hospital.. She receives treatment from more than one doctor but they call me every shift to let me know how she is. So far her condition has teetered between critical condition and improved condition. Madelyn will play with any object, dead or alive; socks, bugs, clothing, blankets and houseplants. She wrestled with her brother Pierre as if she were a boy too. I find it interesting that when I feed the cats the adults back off until the kittens have had their fill. My adult male is teaching them to stalk prey.

Lilly
Lilly is a 7-year-old Mixed in Paragon, IN, who needs $2,000 for Bi Lateral Suture with PRP - ACL repair in each hind leg.
Paragon, IN
We got Lilly from my sister 7 years ago, almost 8. She was a puppy when we got her, and she has grown up with my kids. Lilly was always there for my husband Mike, while his health was failing him. She would sleep on his chest and comfort him. Mike passed away last November, leaving the kids and myself devastated. We cannot bear the thought of having to let her go when this can be fixed. Lilly sleeps with the kids or myself. She provides us with comfort in the aftermath of Mike's death. She is our constant support. She comes and lays on us and snuggles and helps us get through the bad days. She knows how much we are hurting as we try to get used to life without him. We want to help her as much as she has helped us. I am a single mother of three boys. I receive Mike's death benefits, and I work as a babysitter. I don't have $3500 to pay for this surgery, and I cannot bare to lose Lilly when she could be helped. She helps us so much with our grief. I don't want her to suffer though. I took Lilly to four different vets before someone diagnosed what was wrong. The first three vets I took her to just told me it was nothing and she would get better. Finally the last vet diagnosed her with torn ACL's in both hind legs. They gave me the choice of surgery to repair them or having her euthanized. I was quoted $5000 for the surgery, the actual estimate came in at $3500. Lilly has always been so active and playful. She loves to play with her toys and with the kids. She loved to chase the ball and play fetch with the boys. They always had a great time playing together before her legs started getting weak and giving out on her. Now she is unable to play. She is unable to get up or walk.

Tasz Aponte
Tasz is a 5-year-old Pomeranian/Poodle mix in New Haven, CT, who needs $3,400 for an emergency leg amputation.
New Haven, CT
Tasz's story is heartbreaking. He's in desperate need of immediate surgery and really needs your help. The adorable Pom-Poodle (Pomeranian and Poodle mix) was the victim of a hit and run on a busy street near his home. Tasz's family immediately raced him to the animal hospital and got horrible news. "The veterinarians diagnosed him with a fractured leg, dislocated tail and severe bruising," Selinnet V., his human mom, tells Waggle. "There is no internal bleeding, but the most economical option is to amputate his front left leg. Tasz has not had any major surgeries in his lifetime. He is a healthy dog that goes for his yearly checkups." Tasz has an entire household who adores him. "I live with Tasz, my mom, my three siblings, my three-month-old niece, and my sister's 10-year-old Pomeranian, Munchkin," Selinnet tells us. "Tasz is their dog as much as he is mine." All Selinnet wants is for Tasz to be home and healthy again. Dr. Donna Lee Taylor, a board certified surgeon at Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine, is treating Tasz. He's got a long road to a full recovery, but with the surgery and his loving, dedicated family helping him through, his prognosis is bright. Selinnet says she's struggling to pay for Tasz's surgery and care because, like so many people right now, she's financially strapped. The pandemic affected her job. "Due to COVID-19 shutdowns, my hours have been cut at work," she adds. "It would mean the world to have him with us. He was a happy dog."

Olaf
Olaf is a 1-year-old Great Pyrenees in Portage, WI, who needs $2,000 for Total Hip Replacement.
Portage, WI
We were blessed with adopting Olaf when he was 5.5 months old from a rescue in Texas. He is now a lovable, full of life 1 year old who enjoys getting cuddles from mom and dad. He has a one and a half year old brother (lab mix) who he is very bonded to. He currently lives in a beautiful home with a spacious fenced in back yard so he can play. Olaf is just amazing. He is so cuddly and has the best facial expressions. He makes us laugh all the time. He loves to be able to see us at all times so he will roam around the house with us doing chores, etc. He is the best family dog! We go on daily walks in his stroller since the surgeon said no long walks until after surgery. He loves walks in his stroller and will hop right in!:) My husband and I are working very hard to get the financial means to pay for his surgery. We were told it would be around 6000-7000 per hip. I picked up a second job, and my husband has been working long hours. We will be draining our savings, but Olaf is worth every penny! Olaf was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia and osteoarthritis in both hips in the beginning of 2020 from Lodi Vet. We were referred to the Madison Specialty Vet where Olaf had a surgical orthopedic consult. MSV stated they no longer did complete hip replacements so we were referred to UW orthopedic department where he had a surgical consultation. He needs a bilateral hip replacement. Olaf is unique in the fact that he has a multitude of facial expressions to let us know exactly what he is saying. Many dogs use their eyebrows, but Olaf uses many parts of his face to express how he is feeling. It makes us laugh so hard to see his personality come out every day. He is very protective of his family and loves to give kisses.

Bella
Bella is a 3-year-old Mix in Escondido, CA, who needs $2,000 for General Soft Tissue Surgery.
Escondido, CA
Bella made her way into our hearts and into our home in 2018. We had decided that we were wanting a pet but didn’t quite know what type of pet. What we did know was that the pet needed to come from a rescue or the humane society. We arrived to the humane society and made our way through all the rooms. It wasn’t until we arrived to the far back room that we met Bella! Bella is a vital part of our home. We’ve since adopted two cats (they were kittens when we got them) and another dog (Lucy) from the humane society. She cuddles with the cats and even plays with them every morning. Plays tug-o-war with Lucy throughout the day. She loves to cuddle on the couch and in bed! She loves to chase the cats laser toy, hoard her toys from Lucy, and play at the dog park! After a mechanic bill of almost $2k and a move that we just completed a week ago, we do not have the financial ability to cover the surgery in the timeframe that it needs to happen in. Anything that you can do to help us pay for the surgery that she needs is appreciated!!!!! Bella was at the dog park, running around carefree! She started to run her way back to me and tripped. She then began to limp. What I thought was a strain, ended up being a ruptured cranial cruciate ligament. If she doesn’t have this surgery, it’ll cause strain to the other muscles and arthritis will build. Surgery will take place at Vetco Total Care in San Marcos, CA by Dr Brian Massey. Bella has an obsession with anything that flies - butterflies, flies, and most of all - birds! She is absolutely hilarious even going to for a walk, Bella will search the sky and all the trees for a bird. She keeps her ears perked up to listen for the birds. Once she sees or hears a bird, there is nothing else she can focus on - she’ll even jump up in the air in attempt to reach a bird!

Zephyr
Zephyr is a 1-year-old Shih Tzu in Levelland , TX, who needs $1,059 for bladder surgery, for perineal urethrostomy .
Levelland, TX
We decided we wanted a companion about 6 months ago. We didn’t know what God would lead us to. We found a breeder, who was known from our Pastor and we reached out to her. We didn’t really want a female so we decided to ask about a male. Little did we know, our hearts became so full when we met our little Zephyr!! He is a beautiful 6 month Shih Tzu. Our sweet boy is full of snuggles and love. He loved both mom and dad. He wants to play and love. He is always with us or around us. He does not like to be out of our sight. He’s a perfect little gentleman. He’s a Momma’s boy!!! He loves to give kisses and hugs. He loves to visit his aunt and uncle quite often!!! He gets so excited to see family!!! Due to the COVID-19 and the economy, I am unable to pay for this surgery. I have had to use my savings and my small teacher salary to make it. Having my baby healthy and able to potty correctly would bring more joy than I can explain. He deserves to have a healthy life! Our boy has a deformed penis. It has actually turned and grown back to the skin inside. He isn’t able to empty his bladder completely, leading to infections. He had a very small opening for his urine to come out and it isn’t allowing the pressure of needing to go allow him to empty fully. He is being treated at Live Oak Animal Clinic in Lubbock, Tx. Dr. Shelli Wolfe is his veterinarian. Oh sweet boy is so funny!! He likes to talk to us when he was at a something. If we have a special treat, he will talk until he gets his way!! He loves to play with scrunchies and socks!!! He makes us laugh so often during the day. He will grab his scrunchie and dive in his bed and Joey growl and bark!! It’s so funny since he is so tiny!!
