Nikola Tesla needs $0 for Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy and Patella Stabilization

Toms River, NJ • All Fur One Pet Rescue & Adoptions

Nikkie is an absolute social butterfly who has never met a dog he didn't immediately turn into a best friend! He is a true "passenger prince" on golf cart rides, loves a good road trip, masters agility courses like a total pro, and will do just about anything for a piece of Pup-Peroni. We all love him so much! Unfortunately, this sweet boy is facing a tough hurdle. Nikkie was diagnosed with a Grade 2 Medial Patellar Luxation (MPL), causing his kneecap to slip and leaving him in severe discomfort. To make matters more complex, during surgery, the vet discovered a torn CCL (cranial cruciate ligament) in that same right leg. To give him the pain-free life he deserves, he underwent a combined repair and TPLO surgery. He is back with his amazing foster dad now, and while he has a long road to recovery, his loving spirit hasn't wavered. Because this vital surgery required unexpected, extensive procedures, the extra cost has placed a massive financial strain on our rescue. We are committed to being there for Nikkie, but we also have a rescue full of other cats and dogs relying on us for medical care. If you can, please consider donating to Nikkie’s medical fund to help us bridge the gap and continue saving lives.

Tilly

Tilly is a 5 year old Mix-Breed in Colonia, NJ, who needs $8,000 for Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy.

Colonia, NJ

Tilly is my heart and soul, a sweet, resilient 5-year-old mixed-breed girl I rescued from a shelter in SC. Her litter was heartbreakingly abandoned in a box on the side of the road, left to fend for themselves until the shelter owner found them. From the moment I brought her home, she’s been my constant companion, full of love, joy, and those silly moments that get me through tough days Tilly desperately needs TPLO surgery on her back left leg for a torn CCL. Surgery is scheduled for July 10th. Without it, she will gradually lose the use of that leg entirely, and it often leads to the same problem in the other leg, which could leave her completely unable to walk. As someone who knows what it’s like to live with pain and mobility challenges, I can’t bear to watch her suffer. Tilly is the biggest sweetheart. A sweet, loving, calm, and friendly five-year-old mixed breed rescue. She’s wonderful with people of all ages, including children, and gets along beautiful with other dogs. Her gentle, affectionate nature, lights up every day and make sure the perfect companion through life’s ups and downs. I’ve been dealing with serious injuries from a work accident that left me partially disabled. I can no longer do my trained job & am searching for new work while struggling to make ends meet. Tilly’s surgery has hit at the worst financial time, but I refuse to let her down.

Chanel is a 6 month old Pomeranian in Port Monmouth , , who needs $7,000 for MRI.

Port Monmouth

Hi everyone I’m reaching out for help! Chanel is a 6 month old Pomeranian that has so much life more to live. After loosing my Pomeranian at 13 years old to a brain tumor I was devastated. Chanel instantly came into my life as the happiest girl in the world and also was completely potty trained by being home in 2 days lol. She was instantly my best friend and goes everywhere with me. On April 24th Chanel was rushed to the red bank animal hospital emergency room and was put in the ICU. She was unresponsive and numb. We ran as as much tests that we were able to afford they were all inconclusive only step moving foward is a mri. Neurologist believe that she has a brain tumor on her right side which has also caused her to go blind in that eye due to her episode. Chanel has been my best friend through these past 4 months of having her. Every cry every kiss anywhere she is with me. She has a big brother named Louie who loves her so dearly. When she had to stay overnight in the hospital he was depressed and wouldn’t eat. Everyone adores Chanel! At the hospital all of her emergency care were taking photos and even receiving kisses through this rough time. Chanel is only 6 months old. We don’t have insurence and we ran every possible test already to determine what was wrong. The MRI is what she needs and unfortunately I can not afford that. I recently graduated college and am on a fixed income. This has been devastating for me

Marcel

Marcel is a 12 year old Chihuahua in Harrison, NJ, who needs $6,300 for Surgery.

Harrison, NJ

Marcel is a rescue dog from a shelter. He's been cared for since day one after being rescued and he was the sweetest beautiful dog every single day since. Recently, I noticed Marcel was showing signs of discomfort—scooting and excessively licking his booty. Concerned, I took him to our vet, who initially thought it was a simple issue with his anal glands. Unfortunately, after expressing his glands, the symptoms persisted, and a follow-up visit led to a biopsy. The results were heartbreaking: Marcel was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma on his anal gland Marcel has traveled with us 48 states and 5 different countries because if we travel, he travels, and he absolutely loved exploring every place he got to see. So far on we have spent already over 1500 to do tests and Vet appointments. The upcoming surgery and further testing will cost between 6 to 10k and the chemo will add an additional 4-5k on top of it. It is unexpected and well above what our financial situation.

Sassy is a 11 year old Mix-Breed in Atlantic Highlands , NJ, who needs $15,000 for CT Scan and Possible Surgery.

Atlantic Highlands, NJ

Hello my name is Nancy. I have a tuxedo cat named Sassy. I rescued her about 2 yrs ago from the woods. She is a sweet girl and gets along with my other cats. Sassy had respiratory infection and had surgery to remove 2 polyps. It helped for a little while but she’s having trouble breathing again. She needs to have a CT scan and possible surgery by a specialist veterinarian at Red Bank Animal Hospital. Our cat has always had a gentle and affectionate personality but recently their behavior has changed in ways that show they are not feeling well. Normally playful and curious but now hiding, sleeping more, and showing less interest in food. These changes in behavior are signs that something is wrong and she needs medical attention. We are doing everything we can to help our beloved cat feel safe & comfortable again but the veterinary care needed to diagnose and treat the problem has become overwhelming. Any support will help us give our cat the care she deserves and a chance to return to her happy self

Snooki was rescued from Georgia. We were fostering her, fell in love, and adopted her in 2019 She is with us for 7 years. She lives with me and my 96 year old mom, along with two cats who are her best friends. Snooki came with her name- we tried to change it but she would only answer to "Snooki" so it stuck. She has always been a gentle, loving girl and connects with all people and animals. Snooki has been diagnosed with mast cell cancer. She already underwent one surgert to remove one tumor, but the cancer spread to 1 lymp node in her belly. She needs a second surgery and follow up with chemo to prevent any additional spread of cancer. This is a time sensitive medical emergency, Her care is being provided by Red Bank Veterinary Hospital -100 Schulz Drive, Red Bank NJ. Snooki is a loving, devoted companion who thrives on her daily walks and being close to her family. She greets other dogs politely but prefers to keep moving. She loves her lambie stuffed toy and carries it proudly to greet us. She's a "talker", afraid of thunder and happiest enjoying simple routines with the people she loves. Snooki's cancer diagnosis brought sudden, overwhelming veterinary expenses. I have already spent close to $10,000 on her care and live on a fixed income. Help means everything to us - it gives Snooki a chance to heal and continue being part of our family.

My wife and I adore our dogs and cook their own food for them and nothing goes to spare with Gus and Mimi. Supplements and all and every care they need. They are our children We have had our dearest Gus since he was a few months old. Gus comes from SouthAfrica and really is a special soul. He loves life and everyone. He loves life, gives so much love. I am a 9/11 first responder and Gus and his adopted sister is Mimi are both my PTSD service dogs. Gus has sadly been fighting gallantly with a brain tumor, has had radiation but on going care is getting unaffordable. Gus is just adored by everyone who meets him, he loves people and kids and is just full of joy. I have had several dogs in my life and Gus is just extra special, my soul mate I have had awful financial struggles dealing with illness of my own and spend every cent I have on Gus’s care. The Redbank Veterinary hospital is awesome but hugely expensive. Gus is currently there as we speak and I am terrified of the cost and they offer no financial help

Blaze came into my life because my husband didn't want me to be home alone while he was working. We picked Blaze from a breeder in NJ. Me and my husband had 3 names choosen. The breeder said to choose Blaze. Come to find out later that Blaze's Sire was also named Blaze. So we have a Blaze Jr. Blaze is my emotional support baby boy. He is my world. Blaze started showing neck stiffness and was barely moving. So we took him to an emergency Vet hospital where it showed he had a herniated disk between his neck and back. When me and my husband took Blaze to Red Bank Animal Hospital in Red Bank NJ. They also found a mass/tumor near his heart. They did a CT to show that it is cancer. The cancer is treatable with 3 treatments of radiation. Blaze has a handful of favorite people besides his mommy and daddy. We have a friend that we call Auntie Biscuit. She is always giving him treats. She once had a dog named Sammie girl that was Blaze's Girlfriend until she passed away. He still looks for her. My brother is his other favorite. You mention his name Blaze gets so excited. Blaze has many favorite toys. Blaze loves everything. My husband is retired from law enforcement. He only gets 1 check a month and I barely work 20 hrs a week. Blaze is my child. He is my world. We do not have children. I want my boy healthy again. He doesn't deserve this. He is my whole world. Without him, I'm lost.

Brigantine, NJ

Lincoln became my foster puppy in March when he was surrendered by an Amish breeder from Pennsylvania when he didn’t sell. I adopted him in April because my other dog, Hammy, was so happy to have a brother again after the loss of my older dog last November. Lincoln was recently diagnosed with avascular necrosis in his hind right leg and needs FHO surgery. At only 9 months old, the surgery is the best option for him to live a pain-free life. He has health insurance, but they are considering this a pre-existing condition and will not cover the cost. He is being seen by the orthopedic surgeon at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital. Lincoln is just the sweetest puppy. You wouldn’t know that he is in pain from his necrosis, but the doctors say that he is. Lincoln and Hammy love to run around and play together all day and especially love chewing on each other’s ears (it is so cute). We joke that I should have named him Happy, because he is just so happy all the time, but Go Birds! Although I have pet insurance, the cost of the surgery is not being covered and is upwards of $6,000. If you want to donate to the fund for Lincoln it would be greatly appreciated!

Diva is a 3 month old Maltese in Somerset , NJ, who needs $2,000 for MRI.

Somerset, NJ

Diva was a gift from a very generous friend who breeds Maltipoos. Diva was the smallest of the litter and the last puppy remaining. We were a perfect match because I was looking for a small companion and she needed a home. We live in a beautiful townhouse in suburban New Jersey with lots of grass and greenery. Diva enjoys home cooked meals and sleeps in a toddler bed fit for a princess. Diva was with a "trusted caregiver' over the weekend. When I was discharged it was discovered that she has two broken ribs and no longer has full use of her hind legs. I rushed her to an Animerge, then Red Bank Vet Clinic. Diva has a nerve or spine injury that needs further evaluation. An MRI is required to assess the full extent of the issue, then possible surgery, rehabilitation and medication. Diva is a little cuddly furball. She's sweet, she's sassy she's funny and I love her so much. Her favorite toy is a little dog stuffy which is almost as big as she is. She loves to snuggle with it overnight and carries it around constantly. She's brought great joy to me and everyone iust adores her. Our oldest human child is now 3 years old so Diva is the new baby of the family. I'm a disabled senior citizen on a fixed income. Care for Diva's injury is very costly. My income is limited and I live on a strict budget, but I want to do everything I can to help my baby and give her the chance to recover. Getting her healthy is everything to me.

Scotch Plains, NJ

We adopted Butterscotch when he was just 10 weeks old. We fell in love with him as soon as we saw him. He's the only pet in the house and is now 10 years old. We adore him as much as having a child. We call him my daughter's brother as she is an only child. Unfortunately, Butterscotch started throwing up blood and the next day his stool was covered in blood. It was very scary to see and traumatic for my daughter and my husband and I. So far the hospital bill is already at $6200, and he's staying another night and running more tests. He has Inflammatory Bowel Disease and will need to be on medicine and a special doet for the rest of his life. He is the snuggler of the house and always comforts people when they're not feeling well. He was a birthday gift for my daughter so she is especially attached to him. He twirls around in circles like he's doing a circus performance. It's so funny to see. This is an unexpected and unplanned-for MAJOR medical expense. I am only able to get freelance work and I am not working full-time. Having him healthy again and able to enjoy his senior years would mean the world to us.

FRANKLIN PARK, NJ

Living away from family, I was looking for a companion dog and decided that a Havanese was the best fit. I did my research online, found a breeder, and fell in love with Marley Anne. I liked the name Marley and chose "Ann with an e" after Anne Shirley (Anne of Green Grables). Nine months later, her sister Maya Rose (also a Havanese) joined us. The three of us became our own little family. On the evening of Nov 13, Marley Anne was rushed to the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Hillsborough, NJ after throwing up blood. It was there that she wad diagnosed her with Immune-Mediated Thrombocytopenia. Because she had lost so much blood, they had to give her 2-3 blood transfusions. Once she was stabilized, she was transferred to the Tinton Falls branch in Red Bank. At home, Marley Anne is known as The Diva. She is smart, kind, friendly and outgoing. She loves pets and treats. And she always backs up her sister. She's a real people person (and might not know she's a dog). While at the Tinton Falls hospital, Marley Anne received additional blood transfusions, platelet transfusions, and underwent 2 TPE procedures (Therapeutic Plasma Exchange). These treatments, along with immunosuppressive drugs, brought her hospital bill to over $30,000.

I rescued my girl from a street in Newark, NJ. She has been with me through a lot of trauma and through all my medical episodes. She became my ESA as I am disabled. She never leaves my side especially when I’m in a medical episode. She’s my blessing! She is very sick. I just found out she has Lyme disease, kidney disease, and high blood pressure. She got me through some really tough times in my life. Storm was recently diagnosed with kidney disease, a heart murmur, And Lyme disease. Today we went To Redbank Animal Hospital And they were amazing with her, but she was diagnosed with several different things. I want to save my little girl since she saved me for the past nine years. Anything will help. I appreciate everyone who has been involved in her care. Storm is very mild mannered and loves everyone. Her favorite thing to do is give kisses and play with other dogs. Even though she’s a pitbull, she lets everybody jump all over her and beat her up Including her 5 pound “cousin”. When I’m in a medical episode, Storm has never ever left my side. I am hospitalized a lot and storm lays on her bed waiting for me to come home. She is so loyal! Due to me being medically ill since I was five years old and then a new diagnosis at 15, I receive Social Security. Storm is everything to me. She gets me through my roughest days. There’s days I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have her in my life. She’s heaven sent!

You're her best friend if you have bananas or carrots. She loves her head pats and being cuddled. She was born a dwarf but still acts like she is big and strong. Definitely independent at heart. She has never had major medical issues expect for her breaking her front leg recently. I went to Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Tinton Falls, New Jersey to get her treated. My family loves her. She is very calm and will definitely let you know when she doesn't like something by just stomping her foot. I never have to guess with her. She makes me being her bunny mom the best job I could ask for. Very energetic and curious loves getting into random things around the house. She had broken her front left leg and I brought her to the emergency vet to get her the proper care but couldn't afford the treatment even with the financial assistance that I was denied for. She would need X-rays, bloodwork and a splint and the amount would be $2k.

He is a sweet and caring brother to his 4 other kitty siblings, his younger sister, Ginger, in particular is tied to his side and vice versa. I don’t know what she or I would do without him. A few months back I discovered a lump on Sams head. I brought him to his vet and they declared it cancerous and scheduled to remove. He got his surgery. Now, I have been recommended to follow up with an oncologist. At his oncology consult, they informed me the cancer is still present, is terminal and needs radiotherapy in order to give Sam more years to be loved. Otherwise his time left is unknown Sam is so special to me. I call him my little cow because of his tuxedo coat color. He is always by my side, snuggling in bed, watching me do dishes, “helping” with chores aka staring at me or sleeping near me, watching tv shows/ movies just enjoying the time we spend together. He is a very relaxed kitty until his younger sister comes to bother him and he agrees to run around with her for a while. I work full time, overtime, everything I can do I do and it’s all for him. I don’t know what I would do if my baby was lost to cancer. He’s so young and should have so much more time to be loved and spoiled every day. I want to give him that. The radiotherapy is $17,000.

With love, compassion, and affection, he learned to be a loving and affectionate family member. Not only did we save Otto, but he saved my husband’s life as well. My husband was out of work for over 10 years. He suffered from severe anxiety and depression. Otto gave him purpose. Otto is the most affectionate dog you will ever meet. He also has FOMO. He needs to be in the middle of everything and needs to be with the family. He loves to lay on pillows and snuggle. He gives constand hugs and kisses. Otto is the funniest dog you will ever meet. He is always smiling and wagging his tail, even at the vets office. He loves to slide down the steps on his belly. If you play tug of war with him, he’s so sweet and affectionate that he does not tug back. Instead he let you drag him across the tile floor, or while that tail is wagging Otto broke his leg in 2 places. He had surgery and they implanted pins and screws. Then he got a staph infection. From the infection, one of the pins shifted into his ankle. He now has a fiberglass splint which needs to be changed weekly. Then he will need another surgery to remove the impants. My husband is now working, so we scrimpedup enough to pay for his surgery. But having to take the dog back to Redbank animal Hospital every week, and pay for a 2nd surgery is putting us in a more dire financial position than we were when he wasn’t working.working.

Hi all! This is Luna. I’ve had Luna since she was a baby. She was found in 2012 right after the hurricane in the fall. I got her to help my then fiance as an ESA. My fiance passed suddenly that December. Luna took it pretty hard. She took quite a bit to warm up to me, but when she did she became more than just a pet. Luna has been my rock since that day. She saved me more than I saved her. Luna got sick for the first time in her entire life in December of 2023. We noticed a mass in her mouth. The mass was removed at the end of March and was diagnosed as Fibrosarcoma. Our vet said it was a 50/50 chance it would grow back. Sadly it did and worse and she is in the fight of her life. She needs radiation. She has so much life we have to give her a fighting chance! She wants to live! Luna is incredibly smart, compassionate and happy. Despite how horrific her face currently looks she doesn’t let it stop her. She eats, plays and enjoys sitting outside in the sun. She knows when I’m having a bad day and intuitively will purr and follow me and makes me smile. She’s silly and doesn’t act her age at all. She’s super sassy and sweet and is friends with everyone she meets. Unfortunately over the last few years my current fiance has had quite a few major surgeries and was out of work for a long time and we were down to only 1 income. I had lost my job in Sept 2023 and just started working in May. We have still attempted to get her the best care

My boyfriend always wanted a French Bulldog, so for Christmas one year, I bought a baby frenchie and surprised him with it. We have another dog in the home, Benny and so we named the frenchie Bentley because it sounded nice together. Bentley is the sweetest, most loving and fashionable boy. Bentley is super spoiled and his closet is bigger than his mommas. He loves fashion and clothing and to model in them. Bentley is super sweet and understands English and Spanish. We tell him "besito" and he gives us a kiss. Bentley sleeps in the bed with us and he loves his big brother Benny. Bentley is the sweetest, most loving little boy. He gives us kisses on command and also knows how to take off our socks after a long hard day at work. We tell him "saca la media" which is take off my sock in Spanish and he does it on command. He is super smart, witty and has such a cool personality. Bentley started the new year (2024) being off. He began to vomit about 4-5 times a day and was lethargic. Shortly after that, he began to display some neurological symptoms (blindness, spinning in circles, neck tilt to one side). We researched the best neurologist in our surrounding area and decided to take him to Red Bank Vet Hospital with Dr. Glass where he stayed for about 4 days. We weren't expecting to have this sudden major financial strain. My boyfriend is currently on unemployment due to being laid off and I am on a fixed income. We adopted Lucy the 6 month old rescue Irish Wolfhound puppy on October 7th, 2023. She lives with Lara & Steve in Rahway, NJ along with her sister Maggie, a 14 year old rescue Staffordshire Terrier. Lucy is a giant sweet muppet of a dog and loves playing with her toys. Her current favorite is an orange floppy frisbee type toy. She will snuggle into you and beg to be petted or have her belly rubbed. This dog is the sweetest love! Lucy has several neighborhood doggie best friends and seems to love every dog and person she meets. Her most favorite playmate so far is my Patent's rescue dog Sophie - they can play for hours and completely exhaust themselves! Lucy was placed with a foster family as a very young pup after her Mom stepped on her and broke her leg. She went through three casts as she healed and they thought she was ready for her forever home. We adopted her knowing she would have a limp but was otherwise healed and fine. Unfortunately that was far from the case and she will be needing two surgeries to repair the damage in her rear legs Like most people these days, we live on the financial edge. In 2021 we used what little savings we had to repair the electrical issues in our home. We did not expect our pup to have such expensive medical issues so quickly. She has insurance, but they are denying coverage.

A friend of a friend had to evacuate her home during hurricane Irene and asked me to take care of Whimpee and the woman never came back to pick up her cat. Whimpee lays in bed with me and puts me to sleep. He then sleeps in the living room. He then comes back into bed with me so when I wake up I see him. Whimpee saved my life. I suffer from depression and he comforts me and gives me love. He is the only family I have. He is very special to me and he needs help. My cat Whimpee has an infection of his ear lobe which is swollen and his ear hurts very very bad. He cries in pain. He needs medical treatment desperately. Zuzu was a rescue and has been in our lives for about 9 years. She brings such joy to us, especially my father who now lives alone since he is a widow and misses my mom very much. Zuzu loves playing fetch and going for walks. Since my mom passed away, she has clung to my dad and is his best friend. She means the world to us and we love her so much. Zuzu's distinct "wiggle walk" makes her everyone's favorite, and she is the sweetest girl to everyone and gives kisses and shows her belly to you immediately. Zuzu has been suffering from diabetes, pancreantitus, and blood clot issues. She's has been and continues to be treated at Red Bank Veterinarian Hopsital in NJ. My father took a part-time job ever since my mom fell ill and he and I needed to be her caretaker. I'm supporting myself on my teacher salary. With expenses into the thousands, my father and I are struggling to keep up with the treatment Zuzu needs to keep her alive and comfortable

Nino Daniel is a 1-year-old Shih Tzu in Roselle Park, NJ, who needs $2,000 for MRI.

Roselle Park, NJ

Nino is an incredibly sweet and playful 1 year old Shtzhu. My husband gifted him to us for Christmas because he know I needed an emotional support animal to assist with my anxiety disorder. He became a part of our families almost instantly. Nino is very close to my husband and I. He loves to kiss us and runs to the door as soon as we get home. When one of us leaves, he cries until we return. Nino loves to go on long walks in the apartment complex and all the neighbors know him very well. He barely ever barks or snaps at anyone. Nino is very shy but does get along with other dogs, such as Luca & Jak, his grandmother's dogs. Nino often jumps to his bowl when he knows it is time to eat. He is very friendly with anyone he meets and instantly wins their hearts (especially the ladies!) In August Nino started experiencing difficulty walking. We got him to the vet and he was prescribed pain meds which soon had him back to his playful rambunctious self. But then again this November, we realized that he was once again arching his back and not interested in his food. This time we took Niño to a vet hospital. He received an MRI and back surgery to correct a disc displacement. This was an unexpected medical expense that we will have trouble paying. It cost almost 20,000. Nino is my emotional support animal because I have a generalized anxiety disorder and has become a part of both of our families. We love him so much.

Hello my name is Romi I have a two year old frenchie that came into my life on July 24th 2021, it was love at first sight I knew he was my “little person”. He’s my shadow. Every time I come in with the mail from the mailbox, he awaits by the window so as soon as I walk in he jumps up and grabs all the envelops. Chase likes to sleep in his bed caddied in a corner. Loves to lay by my side while I work on my computer. Stays by the bathtub while I shower. He does not like baths but willingly jump in to take one. Loves to look out the window. He loves his grandma and his brother. The love and bond we all shared with him was unbreakable. My little protector. 😥 Chase loves to go to the dog parks and run around outside in the yard. He loves loves loves ground beef with carrots and broccoli. He does not like loud sounds like fire alarm in the house or a loud reved up engine. He loves his squeaky toys. Loves to come into my lap while driving but does not like to cuddle, yea. I know how do I explain that one. Haha. Unfortunately, under these circumstances, chase has an emergency MRI done. He was diagnosed with IVDD (intervertebral disc disease) and has stones in his bladder. At this time he can not move his back legs. He was not eating or drinking normally. It breaks my heart into a million pieces. I need my little buddy back to normal. This was unexpected, I have a fixed income. It was an emergency. I am a single mother of a 16 year old boy and this came out of no where which breaks my heart because just from one day to the next. So sad and I’m hurting for my little guy.

Amigo arrived to our home 5am Friday November 11th from a breeder in Kentucky. He was so excited to meet me and I felt the same. So many kisses! He immediately wanted to play with my other dog whos a little bit a grumpy old man but he took to him too. We have 3 kids but only one, my 4 yr old, was able to meet him the first day. She couldn't get enough of him! Love at first sight! I do not really have much to go off of as I only had him 3 days before he went into the hospital. But everyone loved him including my husband who is not a dog person but they quickly took naps together. He slept in our bed the first night but then he did very well as we started crate training him. He didn't give too much fuss and was asleep in no time He loves tp play with toys which is a big difference from my 10yr old dog who is more of a lap dog then a playful one. The kids were so excited to see how much he wanted to play and knew he was going to be so much fun to grow up with. He loves his belly rubbed and he loves to snuggle. I love his caramel eyebrows He has parvo. He needs 24 hour isolation care that costs about $1500 a night. He has already been there for 5 days and needs more time but we just cannot afford it ourselves anymore. We would like him to come home and be back to him normal playful self but he's not ready to come home yet. We were not prepared to have this expense at all and we have 3 kids to care for and a house and cars. We got insurance for him but it was not in force when this all happened so they wont help. We just want him home to be with his family again.

Mocha is almost 9 year old. She has been with us since she was 8weeks old. We got her after our 1st shih tzu pass away from liver failure. She brought back joy to our home again. She is very sweet and loving. When we had our last child who is 5 now, mocha treated her like her baby. She protects her staying next to her and crying with her. She is a part of our family. Mocha is another child for us. We struggle to conceive our last child in our blended family and got mocha. When she was younger she went everywhere with us. She acts like a mom to our two youngest daughter. If they are upset she is there trying to cheer them up. She plays with Lola like another child. Doing “tea parties” and dress up. She loves cuddling. She hides under the covers during rain storms. She protects my kids when the bell rings. She became a mommy to a kitten who lost her mom. She “bath” her and cuddled her. Made sure she ate and was safe. She played with her and loves her. She is the sweetest, loving and greatest of family member Mocha was attach by a large dog. The dog grabbed Mocha by the neck and shook her. By the time we had been able to get the dog off of her. She was shaking and had some blood. We though she only had some cuts. We feed her and found her bowl full of blood. That is when we knew she was worst off. We found out that her jaw was fractured. And needed surgery to wire her jaw closed to heal. She is receiving treatment at Red bank vet hospital. We don’t have pet insurance. We have 2 kids in college and just paid this semester tuition along with supplies for our newly Kindergarten student. The expense is over $9k total when said and done. We have paid over $7k

Jake came into our family at just 6 weeks old. He was a shelter dog in Sacramento, but was scheduled to be put down that evening (so young). He has become an important member of my family, my boy, my furbaby. He endured so much in 12 years and I would do anything for him. He is my daughter’s sleep buddy. Jake has been nicknamed, “KISSY MONSTER!” Jake is the sweetest boy. He sleeps with my daughter every night. He loves to give everyone kisses. He loves children, other dogs and cuddles. Jake loves to look out the window or be outside watching the world. Even at 12 years old, he loves to smell flowers and just being alive. Jake is the kindest dog you would ever meet. Jake knows when you are sad. He immediately comes to cuddle and give kisses. He will smile at you and insist on scratches. Jake hates to be alone, so he makes sure he is near someone. He looks at his family with love in his eyes. Wherever he goes, he wants to make friends. He loves for anyone to acknowledge him, hoping that person will pet him. Jake is suffering from a severe hematoma on his ear. This has been drained and pressure bandages placed 3 times. This also had 2 small punctures placed by the vet, but it did not work. Jake is going in for emergency surgery tomorrow. The hope is that the Dr can stop the bleeding, place drains and suture the ear back together. If blood flow is too compromised to the skin, it will be amputated I am a disabled domestic violence survivor. My ex has a court ordered support, which he again stopped paying. Princeton, NJ

My wife and I rescued Nicky in May 2011 when he was 5months old. He has trekked across different states with us, traveled with us cross country, and a loving family member during our daughters birth in 2014. Nicky is a lover. All you have to do is feed him and rub his belly and he will be your best friend. The only thing to fear from Nicky is that he might lick you to death:-()~ Nicky sleeps in our bedroom and often times barks at us in the middle of the night to complain he should be on our bed - and we comply. Nicky loves going for long walks as he's always on the hunt tracing smells and leaving his mark. Every night when we eat dinner, especially lamb, he always barks at us - He's a greek dog alright! Then he barks to reveal my daughter's "hide and seek" spot. Nicky is a hyper dog with plenty of life in him. He often thinks he's bigger and stronger than he really is, always flocks to the bigger dog parks and often chews off more than he can handle (pun intended). He loves the snow (unfortunately how he slipped his disc) and needs to be active. He is afraid of thunder, he can stare at a bug on the wall for hours in a day and give us plenty of kisses. Nicky lost most of his feeling in his hind legs after trotting through the snow last weekend. The MRI revealed a herniated disc compressing on his spinal cord, explaining why he couldn't pee for 24 hrs at a time. The prognosis was good in that the surgery was straight forward and that Nicky has high likeliness of walking again with good quality of life. Red Bank Vet Hospital in Tinton Falls NJ Unexpected major expense that came at a terrible time. The all-in costs is ~$14k and had to apply for care credit. Fortunately we were approved but now halts our plan to buy our starter home. We chose our pet's quality of life over our own and didn't think twice.

Me and my girlfriend rescued yin (sister cat) and yang (the boy) from the Bronx, We all live in a third floor apartment, we have two cat towers and tunnels and tents and beds galore. They practically own the place. We even have heated blankets for the cat tower so when they decide that they are cold we can keep them beans warm. Yang is so spoiled and he is a lover and cuddler, he always wants to be by your side and he always wants affection. He is the highlight to my day as he always wants to be by his daddy. He makes my heart glow and brings the weight off my shoulders. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for my cats! They are like my fur children. Yang has a funny thing he does where he likes to push his butt into me and try to get my attention that way. He turns and looks at me like come on where are the scratches at? He also always meows at me from the other room to come join him in his favorite lounging spots. He is very smart for a lazy cuddle boy. My cat unfortunately has a tear and blockage in his urinary track and he needs a PU OPERATION to save his life. Hopefully they can reconstruct him and have it so he no longer can get blockage or any uti’s after this point. He is currently awaiting a trip to the hospital and I just hope we can afford it and make it I work as a landscaper seasonally and of course two weeks into winter season with no income my pet gets sick, I was able to pay for initial treatment but the next step is to expensive. At the end of the day, she is exhausted from all the love and attention. We live in the suburbs with a backyard where Chloe loves to run. Chloe loves walks around the neighborhood. At home, she loves to lay with us on the couch while we watch tv. She enjoys fetch and being rewarded with treats. She loves giving kisses and enjoys belly rubs. One of her favorite pastimes is swinging on the hammock with us in the backyard. We love the way she gets so excited when we arrive at home from a day out. We are a family of six with a lot of expenses and not a large income. It will mean immensely to us to have your support us during this time. We look forward to her having her full vision back and living a healthy life. Chloe developed a cataract on her left eye which has led to partial blindness. If left untreated, it will lead to complete blindness. Dr. Ringle, from Red Bank Vet Hospital in Tinton Falls, NJ is able to perform the surgery for $3500. We do not have $3500 and the expense will cause a financial strain. Surgery is scheduled for October 7, 2021 considering we are able to pay for it. Chloe has helped all my all children deal with sadness during the pandemic. She has truly been a blessing to our family. She kept my son company while he was attending virtual classes. "We loved him since we met him," he says. "Yancko is special to us because he understands when we feel bad, or somebody is crying for any reason. He will come to you and lift his paw to your elbow, and you can tell in his look that he is telling you, 'everything will be okay.'" But recently, the family's beloved Yancko suffered a mysterious injury. "It all happened when he went to run like he always does. He came back crying and not being able to walk properly anymore," Fausto says. Now Yancko's legs turn inward, and he needs an MRI at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital to diagnose what's causing the problem. Fausto's family can't afford the scan because they, like so many others, lost their jobs during the pandemic. "As COVID began, my wife had to stay home with our newborn," he says. "I was unemployed for months because I work as a painter, and no one wanted to have workers inside their houses. I had to take loans to survive our financial crisis." Honey, a puggle, is a rescue. She has been part of this family for 13 years - we call her the OG. We cannot imagine life without her. Just being away in the hospital these couple of days has turned our world upside down - we miss her so much. The other dogs are lost without her and quite frankly so are we. Honey is the sweetest that's the first thing people comment when meeting her - she just wants snuggles, well and treats! It is unconscionable that in the US we have to choose between euthanizing our fur babies or going into heavy debt. Even with insurance the deductibles are outrageous. We love our Honey and are trying anything & everything to avoid those 2 options. Honey started having seizures out of nowhere. ER vet & our vet said she needs an MRI / CAT Scan in order to determine the cause since everything else is "normal." Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Tinton Falls, NJ offers this service but it is very expensive. We are still reeling from losing our mother both emotionally and financially so any help would be greatly appreciated. The second thing people notice is her underbite, she manages to look sweet even with her fangs hanging out! She's a no fuss furry friend - doesn't care about fireworks or thunder. She does, however, take mealtime very seriously...

He is incredibly healthy and is taken care of very well. He visits the vet regularly, eats good quality food and is loved beyond measure. Diesel is the man of the house, he stays by my side where ever I am in the house and sleeps with me at night. He loves to play outside in his big backyard. He is incredibly loving and sweet and is always snuggled up with me somewhere. If people are over at my house he is the same way with them. He makes my house a home. I was out of work due to covid so I started my own business about 8 months ago. It was a lot of start up costs and everything else but now it is starting to grow and prosper. I just want to be able to provide a good life for both Diesel and I. If he is hurting than I am hurt My dog Diesel started showing signs of pain and limping last year, I took him to the vet 05/19/2020 when he was diagnosed with a torn ACL. I was able to afford the 6000 surgery at that time. The vet warned that his other would most likely tear and it did a few months later. Diesel is now in so much pain he cant walk and is crying in pain everyday. It is truly heart wrenching to see and hear. Diesel has the biggest personality I have ever seen. He is hilarious, he is goofy, he is fun and he is so incredibly loving and nurturing. Every single person that meets him falls completely in love with him. Levi

Levi is a 1-year-old cat in Elizabeth, NJ, who needs $2,000 for surgery for Pyothorax.

Elizabeth, NJ

Levi came to us from underneath our house -- he was almost like a cosmic housewarming gift. We had just moved into a new place and my brother-in-law heard meows super nearby. Turns out, Levi's mom had left him and some siblings underneath our house. After a few days, he was the only one left with no signs of mom. So we went on a rescue mission and the rest is history. He's 1 year old now. Levi makes his presence known. He is by far the relaxed cat I've known, and also the most social, preferring to take his 18 hr cat naps snuggled in someone's lap. And he does it in turn -- if someone's been at work all day and just got back home, it's their turn. He wakes up, trots over and will stand patiently until YOU sit and give him the lap that's really his, not yours. This was a sudden emergency we weren't prepared for. We are a mixed income household with tight budgets, especially as a result of COVID and some loss of income last year. Our cats are our purpose. Life's redeeming quality which soothes the soul at the end of a long day. Levi has pyothorax, a build-up of infectious fluid around his lungs. He's been in critical care for a few days now, mostly stable with antibiotics but the vet is considering CT scans and surgery to help pinpoint and eradicate the issue in a more aggressive, deliberate way. We're basically holding off an infection right now where surgery could alleviate his condition altogether. Levi has one adopted brother, older than him by a few months but smaller than him by a solid inch of fluff all around. Levi NEEDS to make his rounds to say hi to all members of the household at least once every day. He is very much a cat with HIS own particular routine. He won't bother you so long as you don't interrupt him, haha.

Lilo is a one-year-old Tabby cat in Edison, NJ, who needs $2,000 for brain surgery.

Edison, NJ • SHAHS (Super Hero's Animal Hydrocephalus Society )

Super Hero's Animal Hydrocephalus Society has one mission: To help kittens and cats with hydrocephalus, a dangerous condition where fluid builds up in the brain, and medical attention is needed immediately. "We are the only disease-specific rescue in the world that deals specifically with hydrocephalus," Lisa J., president of the rescue, tells Waggle. "Many people think it's a hopeless disorder, and the best thing you can do is euthanize the animal. We have found that is the furthest thing from the truth. Many cats with this disorder can live full lives." The rescue needs help raising money to help their dear, sweet Lilo. She was born to a family that had a litter of kittens. Immediately they could tell Lilo needed medical help. She was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, and the family attempted to keep up her care, even syringe and bottle feeding. When Lilo's medical bills became unaffordable, they surrendered her to the rescue. "She was in severe crisis. The pressure in her head was spiking," Lisa says. Lilo has had many surgeries to help with her condition and, most recently, a procedure to relieve some pressure on her brain at the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital. "She's doing great. She's bright. She's eating. She's playing, and there is a sparkle in her eyes," Lisa reports. "She has a zest for life like no animal we've ever seen. She does not give up. She's this kitten-sized cat that doesn't know anything other than to keep fighting." And Lilo is paying it forward. She has "adopted" a new kitten that just came into the rescue who is blind. "Lilo is his caretaker. She guides him. She cleans him. If he's going somewhere he shouldn't, she runs over and guides him," Lisa says. The rescue is struggling financially right now. Donations are down because COVID-19 is having a financial impact on so many people. The group could really use your help! "Our yearly medical expenses top $90,000. I lie awake at night wondering, are we going to survive this?"

NEW YORK, NY

A neighbor dog had puppies and I wanted to get one for my mother so I bought one but when I looked into his eyes I could not give him to my mother so I kept Midnight C. Vazquez for myself. Midnight was six weeks old when I got him now he is ten years old and going strong. Midnight is shining Black with a Chest is White and his Paws are beige. He has an over bite- but his smile melts your heart. Midnight sleeps with me on the bed and Mocha my female dog. He is loving and when I rub his belly he lift his paw as to let me rub his chest and he starts to talk to me. When Midnight wants something he starts to scratch me to get my attention and he and Mocha takes most of the bed leaving me with just a sliver to sleep on but I do not mind. I am on disability and can't work therefore I can't afford to pay for the operation. I am asking for some help. I am asking for donation to get Midnight Operated by the ending of March which is when he is schedule, please, please help. I need funds for Midnight's operation he has two nodules on his pancreas and liver which causes his blood sugar to get low Midnight gets seizures so he has to be on prednisone to keep him stable. The Vet said it is Cancer and hope that it has not spread. I know that Midnight has many years ahead and I am fighting for his life. Midnight has lots of toys he is so loved by everyone. Hi Everyone, this is Spooky. She came to live with me 5 years ago when I moved to a farm property. She was a T&R who lived there and fell in love with my boyfriend and I. Gradually becoming an indoor member of our family she now desperately needs your help. She is a one of a kind girl with a heart bigger than she is! Spooky has not only become a member of our family but she is my rabbit's best friend. She is fearless and loves to go on adventures around the house. She has become a fully indoor cat who now only at the age of 9 is experiencing a ton of firsts as she only recently came to live inside! She loves it. We are asking for help because financially we are not well off, COVID hit hard when I lost my PT job which was an extra $1500 a month, then my boyfriend has been out of work due to a back injury. Spooky needs help desperately and I will do whatever it takes at this time Spooky went to see the vet as one day out of the blue she started coughing. That turned into severe congestion that’s not going away. Our vet sent her to a specialist at Ref Bank animal hospital and goes for her first consult on 3/11, she’s been waiting 6 weeks to see Dr Bento. She needs a scope and possible surgery. Spooky likes to experience new things and meet new people and animals. She likes to sit in front of the turtle tank and watch the turtle, she loves watching the birds outside and she has become an expert at “full steam ahead” that’s what we call her shower time to help her breathe. She has good days and bad, lately more bad then good but she is counting on your help to turn that around.

Spooky is a trap and release that chose to live with me and become my baby girl. My fiancé and I moved into an old farm property 6 years ago and she was living there and being cared for my the prior tenant. Unfortunately he couldn’t take spooky with him because he was allergic so we promised we would care for the tiny cat, low and behold she chose to stay with us and become an indoor house cat. Spooky is friends with anyone she meets and is highly loved especially by not only us but our pet rabbit. They are best friends! She is truly a one of kind animal. Her heart is bigger than she is and she doesn’t deserve to have these issues. She’s tiny but has a BIG personality that resonates with everyone she meets! Due to COVID I lost my part time job last March which was an extra 1500 a month and most recently my fiancé was injured at work and still has not received any compensation! We are struggling to stay afloat and keep our car and home and don’t have the extra funds for this For as long as we have had her she has had absolutely no health issues. Even living outside for many years! This started with a cough that has led to severe congestion, bloody snots, and diminished ability to breathe. She’s been on 3 different antibiotics and is now on prednisone for inflammation and to stimulate her appetite. She requires specialized care we cannot afford. Spooky is unique not only the fact that she’s tough at only 5.8lbs but she is extremely affectionate and friendly. She’s fearless and let’s nothing stop her. She just wants to be loved. A true lap cat in every sense of the word! She has become an expert at being in the shower for steam time and absolutely loves when I feed her, she gets syringe fed once a day now as she has difficulty eating.
