Chuck Norris
Chuck Norris Needs a Complex Surgery to Save His Life. Can You Kindly Help Him Out?
Mae Rim, CA • Hand to Paw Foundation
For years, Chuck Norris survived on a Thai army base in Northern Thailand, relying on scraps and his own determination to make it through each day. At only 4 years old, he had likely never known the comfort of a home or the care of a veterinarian. When Hand to Paw Foundation finally brought Chuck Norris to safety, they quickly discovered he was suffering from Canine Transmissible Venereal Tumor (CTVT), a contagious but treatable cancer. Despite months of chemotherapy, his condition continued to worsen. The cancer had become so severe that it destroyed part of his urethra, leaving him unable to urinate normally and causing constant discomfort. His veterinary team made the decision to perform emergency reconstructive surgery, creating an entirely new urinary pathway while also removing the remaining cancer. It was a complex procedure, but we're incredibly grateful to share that the surgery was a success! Now Chuck Norris begins the next chapter of his journey: healing. He will need ongoing veterinary monitoring, medications, follow-up appointments, and supportive care as he recovers from this life-changing procedure. Hand to Paw Foundation never hesitated to give Chuck Norris the care he needed, even before the funds were in place. They chose to act because his life depended on it. Today, we're asking for your help. Your donation will help cover the cost of Chuck Norris's emergency surgery and continued recovery, while allowing Hand to Paw Foundation to keep saying "yes" to dogs with nowhere else to turn.

Buddy
Buddy Needs Emergency Surgery After Devastating Trap Injury
Mae Rim, CA • Hand to Paw Foundation
Buddy never should have been there. Somewhere along the way, this sweet dog crossed paths with an illegal wildlife trap. We may never know how long he was caught, but we do know this: when the person who set the trap realized a dog was inside, Buddy was released… and then left behind, injured, in pain, and completely on his own. Now that Buddy is safe with us, the full extent of his injuries is becoming clear — and it’s devastating. His wrist is broken in a way that cannot be repaired. The damage is so severe that Buddy will likely need an amputation to give him the chance at a pain-free life. Before that can even happen, he will need to be evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon, which significantly increases the cost of his care. On top of that, Buddy is weak and run down. He needs time, nutrition, and support to build up enough strength to safely undergo surgery. Right now, Buddy urgently needs: \\\\\\\\- Comprehensive veterinary evaluation - Pain management to keep him comfortable - Ongoing wound care and infection prevention - A specialized orthopedic consult - Stabilization and nutritional support to prepare for surgery - Likely amputation and post-operative care This is no longer a simple injury — it’s a complex, urgent medical case. And yet, through it all, Buddy remains gentle, trusting, and so incredibly deserving of a second chance. He didn’t choose this. He didn’t deserve this. But with the right care, he can still have a full, happy life — dogs adapt beautifully after amputation, and many go on to run, play, and love just like before. Emergency cases like Buddy’s are costly and unpredictable, and this one is especially significant. But time matters. The sooner we can get him the care he needs — including surgical intervention — the sooner he can begin to heal. Buddy has already endured something terrifying and cruel. Let’s make sure that’s not the end of his story. Please consider donating today to help cover Buddy’s critical medical care. Your support will give him relief from pain, a chance to heal, and the future he deserves. Together, we can turn this moment of cruelty into a story of compassion — and give Buddy his life back. 5/11/26 Update Buddy has officially been transferred to the orthopedic specialist so we can finally discuss what options may be possible for his injured leg. This is a huge step forward in his journey toward healing, and we are hopeful that the specialist will help determine the best path to give Buddy a comfortable, pain-free future. The good news is that Buddy is already showing signs of improvement. Since coming into our care, he has gained weight, looks significantly healthier, and is beginning to regain some strength after everything he endured. Seeing him brighter, stronger, and more comfortable has been incredibly encouraging for everyone involved in his care. While we are still waiting for the orthopedic team’s full assessment, we know Buddy still has a long road ahead. Whether that means attempting treatment or moving forward with amputation, he will continue to need specialized veterinary care, pain management, and ongoing support during recovery. Through it all, Buddy remains unbelievably sweet and trusting despite the cruelty and suffering he experienced before rescue. We are so grateful to everyone who has donated, shared his story, and helped get him this far. Your support is truly giving Buddy a second chance. Please continue to keep Buddy in your thoughts as we move into this next stage of his care. Every donation helps us continue providing the medical treatment he urgently needs — and brings him one step closer to the happy, pain-free life he deserves. 5/26/26 Update Buddy came to us after suffering unimaginable cruelty when he became trapped in an illegal wildlife trap, leaving his paw catastrophically injured. We believed his crushed foot would be the biggest hurdle he faced, and the plan was to move forward with orthopedic surgery or amputation once he was stable enough. But after continued testing and evaluation, Buddy has now been diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder that attacks his muscles. This devastating condition changed everything. Because of how severely his immune system has affected his body, Buddy was no longer healthy enough to undergo surgery for his leg. The extreme muscle loss and weakness we were seeing were not simply from starvation or neglect — his own immune system has been actively attacking his muscles, leaving him incredibly thin and fragile. The good news is that Buddy’s paw itself has actually healed far better than expected. Right now, our focus has shifted completely toward managing his autoimmune disease and helping him feel as strong and comfortable as possible. Buddy is now staying with me at home, where he is receiving daily steroids and ongoing supportive care to try to control the autoimmune issues he will face for the rest of his life. His condition is unfortunately lifelong, and because he requires consistent medical management and daily medication, we know he can never safely return to life as a street dog. So Buddy is staying with us forever. And despite everything his body has endured, Buddy remains unbelievably happy. He still wags his tail constantly, gets excited for meals, loves cuddles, and greets every bit of kindness with complete trust and love. Watching him continue to choose joy after all the pain he has suffered has been incredibly emotional. We are so deeply grateful to every single person who has donated, shared his story, and supported his care. Your compassion gave Buddy a chance not only to survive, but to finally know safety, comfort, and love. His medical needs are ongoing and lifelong, and donations are still greatly appreciated to help cover his medications, veterinary monitoring, specialty care, and long-term treatment. 6/25/26 Update When Buddy first came into our care, we feared the devastating injury to his paw would define the rest of his life. What began as a rescue from an illegal wildlife trap quickly became a much more complex medical journey, revealing a rare autoimmune disease that attacks his muscles and requires lifelong treatment and specialized care. Today, we are happy to share that Buddy's story has reached a beautiful new chapter. While Buddy's autoimmune condition cannot be cured, it can be managed with careful monitoring, daily medications, and specialized support. Because of the severity of his condition, Buddy requires ongoing medical management, including medications, regular veterinary care, and even a pureed diet to help meet his nutritional needs. Returning to life on his own was never going to be an option. That's why Buddy will be spending the rest of his life exactly where he belongs: safe and loved at Hand to Paw's sanctuary. Here, Buddy will continue receiving the specialized care he needs every single day while surrounded by people who know and love him. He will never have to worry about hunger, pain, abandonment, or surviving on the streets again. Despite everything he has endured, Buddy remains one of the happiest dogs we've ever met. His tail still wags constantly, he eagerly greets his caregivers, enjoys his meals, and soaks up every bit of affection offered to him. He continues to remind us daily that resilience and joy can exist even after tremendous hardship. We cannot thank you enough for making this outcome possible. Every donation, share, comment, and word of encouragement helped provide Buddy with the diagnostics, treatments, specialist care, medications, and support he needed to reach this point. Because of your compassion, a dog who was once discarded and left to suffer now has security, comfort, and a future filled with love. From all of us at Hand to Paw—and especially from Buddy—thank you for believing he was worth saving. Your generosity changed his life forever. While this campaign is coming to a close, Buddy's journey continues, and he will remain a cherished member of the Hand to Paw family for the rest of his days. Thank you for giving Buddy the second chance he deserved.

Cat Spay Day
$16 Saves Generations: Help Us Spay 123 Cats
Mae Rim, CA • Hand to Paw Foundation
In a small, underserved rural region just north of our reach, cats are fighting to survive every single day. With no nearby veterinary care, no access to clinics, and no funding for spay and neuter services, the population continues to grow unchecked. Kittens are born into hardship, illness spreads easily, and compassionate community members are left overwhelmed—wanting to help, but without the resources to do so. Hand to Paw is stepping in to change that. We are organizing a large-scale spay day with an ambitious but critical goal: to spay 123 female cats in a single day. At an average cost of just $16 per cat, this effort has the power to prevent thousands of future births, reduce suffering, and bring real, lasting relief to both the animals and the people caring for them. Many of these cats have never seen a veterinarian. This one day will mean everything—preventing painful reproductive diseases, reducing the number of homeless kittens, and improving the overall health of the entire community. But we can’t do it alone. This life-changing event requires funding for medical supplies, anesthesia, medications, transportation, and the skilled hands of veterinary professionals and volunteers donating their time and expertise. Every dollar you give goes directly toward a surgery that stops the cycle of suffering before it begins. This is more than a single day of spay surgeries—it’s a turning point for an entire community. Please consider donating and sharing to help us reach our goal. Together, we can create a future where fewer cats suffer, fewer litters are born into hardship, and compassion has the power to make lasting change.

Norris
Six Weeks of Chemo Could Save Norris’s Life — Please Help Him Heal
Mae Rim, CA • Hand to Paw Foundation
Meet Norris, a resilient dog who has spent his life surviving on a Thai army base in Northern Thailand. Estimated to be around 3–4 years old, Norris has likely lived outdoors his entire life, relying on scraps and instinct to get by. Recently, the team at Hand to Paw Foundation was able to safely catch him and bring him to a veterinary clinic — and what they discovered confirmed he urgently needed help. Norris has been diagnosed with Canine Transmissible Venereal Tumor (CTVT) affecting his genitals. This contagious cancer is treatable, but it requires consistent chemotherapy and close medical monitoring to ensure a full recovery. Because Norris has likely gone without veterinary care for years, his treatment will not be quick. Veterinarians estimate he will need approximately six weeks of hospitalization and care to complete his chemotherapy safely and give him the best chance at healing. While he is under treatment, the team also hopes to neuter Norris, which will help prevent further spread of CTVT, reduce roaming, improve his long-term health, and help stabilize the local dog population. However, all of this care comes at a cost, and as a stray dog with no owner, Norris depends entirely on compassionate supporters. Your donation will help cover: 🐾 Chemotherapy treatments 🏥 Hospitalization and daily care for up to six weeks 💉 Medications and monitoring ✂️ Neuter surgery Despite everything he’s been through, Norris has shown a gentle, quiet spirit. He finally has a chance to receive the care he’s never had — but we need your help to make it possible. Every dollar brings Norris closer to a cancer-free future and a healthier life. If you’re unable to donate, sharing his story helps just as much. Together, we can give Norris the chance to heal, recover, and experience kindness for the first time.

Cooper
Help Cooper Beat Cancer: A Sweet Farm Dog Fighting for His Life
Mae Rim, CA • Hand to Paw Foundation
Cooper lives on a small farm in a very poor rural area. His family loves him deeply, but they struggle just to meet daily needs — often earning around $10 a day picking rice in the fields. When Cooper developed a growing tumor on his nose, they were heartbroken. They wanted to help him but simply could not afford veterinary care. Because they had previously worked with Hand to Paw Foundation to spay dogs on their property, they reached out again — hoping someone could help save Cooper’s life. Veterinarians diagnosed Cooper with Canine Transmissible Venereal Tumor (CTVT) affecting his nose. This type of cancer often responds well to chemotherapy, and in many cases tumors begin shrinking within two weeks, with full recovery in about six weeks. But Cooper’s case has been very different — and far more challenging. Despite starting treatment right away, Cooper’s cancer was resistant to three different chemotherapy drugs. Instead of shrinking, the tumor continued to grow, making it harder for him to breathe. His condition became increasingly urgent, and time was running out. Still, we refused to give up. The team traveled a long distance to obtain a fourth chemotherapy medication, often considered a last-resort option for resistant CTVT cases. Cooper had already endured multiple treatments, so he also required immune support supplements and careful monitoring to help his body tolerate the intensive therapy. Then, finally — the breakthrough we had been hoping for. This week, Cooper’s tumor has started to shrink. After weeks of uncertainty, we are finally seeing progress. We believe the cancer may be almost completely gone within the next week or two. Because the tumor affected his mandible, Cooper will likely always have a small facial scar — but that scar will be a reminder of his incredible fight to survive. The costs have added up quickly, especially for a case that required far more care than typical CTVT treatment. Cooper’s family loves him, but they simply cannot afford this lifesaving care. That’s why we’re asking for your help. Your donation will help cover: 🐾 Chemotherapy treatments 🐾 Immune support medications 🐾 Ongoing veterinary monitoring Cooper is a sweet, gentle boy who has never known anything but love from his family — even in poverty. They reached out for help because they wanted to give him a chance, and together, we can make sure he gets it. After everything he has endured, Cooper is finally winning the fight. Please help us finish what we started and ensure this brave dog can live a healthy, cancer-free life. Every donation — no matter the size — brings Cooper one step closer to full recovery. If you’re unable to donate, sharing his story helps just as much. Let’s help Cooper keep fighting… and win.

Malee
Help This Brave Mama Beat Cancer
Mae Rim, CA • Hand to Paw Foundation
When villagers brought a young street dog to Hand To Paw Foundation’s spay day, they came with good intentions. They had managed to humanely trap her so she could be sterilized — a critical step in preventing more homeless puppies. But when we saw her, everything changed. Malee is a young, ownerless street dog — and she was suffering. She had a large, bloody, dripping tumor consistent with Transmissible Venereal Tumor (TVT), a contagious cancer spread through mucous membrane contact. It was painful. It was advanced. And it needed urgent treatment. And yet, even in that condition, her body told another story. Malee was producing a significant amount of milk. It was clear she was actively nursing a litter of puppies — even though they weren’t with her when she arrived. Spaying her that day was not an option. We declined the procedure, knowing she needed to finish nursing first. Instead, we offered something more urgent: hospitalization and cancer treatment. We also committed to keeping Malee and her puppies together for two weeks so they could slowly and safely wean — giving us time to vaccinate, deworm, and provide flea prevention for the entire family. While TVT can technically be transmitted through direct mucous membrane contact, including suckling, the risk to nursing puppies is considered extremely low. In fact, we — and many experienced rescuers — have never seen transmission occur this way. Keeping Malee with her babies was not only safer emotionally, but medically reasonable. Today, her puppies are thriving. They’ve received veterinary care and are now up for adoption — safe, protected, and full of possibility. And now it’s Malee’s turn. She will begin chemotherapy this week to treat her cancer. TVT is one of the few cancers in dogs that responds incredibly well to chemo — with a strong success rate when treatment is consistent. Malee has an excellent chance of full recovery. But she needs us to see it through. As a young street dog with no owner, Malee has no one else to advocate for her. No one else to cover the cost of hospitalization, chemotherapy sessions, medications, diagnostics, and follow-up care. That responsibility falls to us — and to compassionate supporters like you. Malee has already given everything to her puppies. She endured pain while nursing them. She protected them while battling cancer. She deserves the same devotion in return. Malee’s story could have ended at a spay clinic with her cancer untreated. Instead, she was given a chance. Please help us make sure that chance turns into a cure. Donate today to support Malee’s chemotherapy and give this brave mama the healthy, pain-free future she deserves. 3/19/26 Update We’re happy to share a positive update on brave mama Malee and her little family! Since the last update, Malee and all of her puppies have been doing well under the care of Hand To Paw Foundation. The entire family has now been dewormed, vaccinated twice, treated for fleas, and provided with nutritious food to help them grow strong and healthy. Even better news—two of the puppies have already been adopted! Seeing them begin their new lives in loving homes is exactly what we hoped for when we first stepped in to help this little family. As for Malee, we have been carefully preparing for the next step in her treatment. The plan was to begin chemotherapy right away for her Transmissible Venereal Tumor (TVT), but the transition away from her puppies has been harder than expected. When separated, the puppies cry out for their mom, and it’s clear that the bond between them is still very strong. Because of this, we’ve made the compassionate decision to give them one more week together before starting Malee’s chemotherapy. During this time, we’ve also completed Malee’s spay surgery and are actively working to find loving homes for the rest of her puppies so they can begin their own happy futures. Malee has already endured so much while caring for her babies, and we want to make sure this transition is as gentle and stress-free as possible for everyone involved. While two puppies have found homes, the remaining puppies are still looking for families, and Malee’s chemotherapy treatment is about to begin soon. We still need support to cover the cost of her ongoing veterinary care, including chemo treatments, medications, and follow-up visits. If you’re able, please consider making a donation to help us continue Malee’s treatment and give this devoted mama the healthy future she deserves. Every contribution helps us care for Malee and the animals who rely on us for a second chance. Thank you for standing with Malee and her puppies. Your compassion is helping rewrite their story. 4/21/26 Update Malee’s story began with urgency, uncertainty, and a whole lot of courage. Today, we’re able to share the ending we were all hoping for — one that’s quiet, powerful, and deeply meaningful. After weeks of dedicated care, Malee has officially completed her chemotherapy treatment for Transmissible Venereal Tumor (TVT) — and we are beyond grateful to say that her cancer has been fully treated. This young street mama, who once arrived in pain with an advanced, bleeding tumor while still nursing her babies, fought through every step of treatment with resilience. Because of your support, she received the full course of care she needed: diagnostics, chemotherapy, spay surgery, and recovery. Her puppies — the ones she protected even while suffering — are now safe. They received full veterinary care, and one by one, they’ve been finding homes and brighter futures. And Malee? She’s ready for her next chapter too. Malee remains quite shy and still very unsure of people. Life on the streets has taught her to be cautious, and that won’t disappear overnight. But she is safe now. She is no longer in pain. And she carries a small but important symbol of her journey — an ear notch, marking that she has been spayed and cared for. In the coming days, Malee will be returned to her community — the place she knows, now as a healthy, protected dog. She will no longer contribute to the cycle of suffering, and she will no longer carry the burden of untreated disease. Malee’s life was changed because people chose to act — the villagers who brought her in, and every one of you who supported her care. Thank you for standing with Malee. You didn’t just save her life — you gave her a future.

Doi
A Curable Cancer Is Stealing Doi’s Face — Help Us Stop It
Mae Rim, CA • Hand to Paw Foundation
Doi’s life took a devastating turn when a horrific tumor began to grow across his face, leaving him disfigured, in pain, and unable to live comfortably. His condition looked hopeless to the untrained eye — but when Hand to Paw was alerted to his suffering, we rushed to help him. Doi belongs to a hill tribe family in Thailand who love him deeply but cannot afford the lifesaving veterinary care he desperately needs. Without intervention, Doi would have continued to deteriorate with no chance of recovery. But there is hope — and it’s stronger than you might think Doi has TVT (Transmissible Venereal Tumor), one of the only contagious cancers on Earth. While it looks severe and painful, the good news is that TVT responds incredibly well to chemotherapy. Many dogs make a full recovery once treatment begins. Doi started his first round of treatment yesterday. Now, he faces approximately 8 weeks of hospitalization and chemotherapy to give him the chance at a normal, pain-free life. Chemotherapy, hospitalization, daily monitoring, and follow-up care are extensive — and expensive. Doi’s family simply cannot shoulder this burden, and Hand to Paw relies entirely on donations to save dogs like him. Despite everything he’s endured, Doi remains gentle, trusting, and brave. He is already safe in the clinic receiving the care he desperately needed — but we cannot continue his life-saving treatment without your help. Every donation, every share, every bit of kindness brings Doi closer to a healthy, pain-free future. Please consider donating or sharing Doi’s story today. Together, we can give this sweet hill tribe dog the chance to heal and return home to the family who loves him 1/21/26 Update Since beginning chemotherapy, Doi’s tumor has been steadily shrinking, and the progress we’re seeing each week is remarkable. What once looked overwhelming is now clearly responding to treatment, proving just how powerful timely care can be. With each passing week, Doi is more comfortable. The swelling on his face continues to decrease, he’s eating better, resting more peacefully, and showing brighter energy every day. Most importantly, he is no longer living in constant pain. His gentle, trusting spirit shines through more and more as he begins to feel relief. But Doi’s fight isn’t over yet. He still has several weeks of treatment monitoring ahead, and h is treatment cannot continue without ongoing support. Each donation directly funds his next dose of chemotherapy, his medical care, and the time he needs to fully heal. This is the moment to act. If you’ve already donated, please consider giving again or sharing Doi’s story to help keep his treatment on track. If you haven’t yet, your donation today can be the reason Doi completes his care and makes it home to his family healthy and pain-free. Hope is working — but it depends on us. Please donate or share today to help carry Doi all the way to recovery.

Dog Spay/Neuter Day
Dog Spay/Neuter Day is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in Mae Rim, CA, who needs $2,000 for 80 dog spay and neuters.
Mae Rim, CA • Hand to Paw Foundation
In a rural region north of our area, dogs roam the streets hungry, sick, and often injured — victims of an endless cycle of breeding and abandonment. There are no local veterinarians, no clinics, and no funding for dog sterilizations. Every week, we hear from villagers who want to help but have nowhere to turn. That’s why Hand to Paw is stepping up to organize a mass dog spay/neuter day, focused on bringing real, lasting change to this underserved community. Our goal is to spay and neuter 80 dogs in one day, giving them — and the people who care for them — a chance at a safer, healthier life. This initiative will not only prevent hundreds of unwanted litters but also reduce disease, improve animal welfare, and create a ripple effect of compassion throughout the region. For many of these dogs, this will be their very first time receiving any form of veterinary care. To make this possible, we need your help. Your donation will cover essential supplies — anesthesia, medication, surgical tools, and transport — and support the veterinarians and volunteers dedicating their time to this life-saving mission.

Cat Spay/Neuter Day
Cat Spay/Neuter Day is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in Mae Rim, CA, who needs $2,000 for spay and neuter surgeries for 140 cats.
Mae Rim, CA • Hand to Paw Foundation
In a small rural region north of our area, countless cats struggle to survive — hungry, sick, and reproducing faster than anyone can keep up. There are no nearby veterinarians, no clinics, and no funding for spay or neuter surgeries. Every week, we receive pleas from villagers desperate for help, watching the stray population grow and the suffering continue. That’s why Hand to Paw is stepping in to host a mass spay/neuter day — a life-changing event aimed at stopping the cycle of suffering before it starts. Our goal is to spay and neuter 120–140 cats in a single day, giving them and the community a brighter, healthier future. Many of these animals have never seen a vet in their lives. By providing this free service, we’re preventing thousands of unwanted litters, reducing disease, and easing the burden on struggling families who care deeply for these animals but simply lack resources. This project will require supplies, transport, anesthesia, medication, and the dedicated work of veterinarians and volunteers. Your support can make it happen. Every dollar goes directly toward giving these cats (and the villagers who care for them) a chance at a better life. Together, we can make a lasting impact on an entire community — one surgery, one animal, one act of compassion at a time.

Jacob
Help Jacob get the surgery and rehab he needs to walk again
Mae Rim, CA • Hand to Paw Foundation
Jacob was thrown out of a car on a busy road in Northern Thailand. In his confusion, he ran back into traffic to run after his owner's car as they sped off, and was tragically hit by another car, leaving him semi paralyzed on the side of the road. Jacob was rushed to the Chiang Mai Animal clinic for x-rays and an assessment. He had no control over three out of four legs due to a spinal injury, and he required surgery and a lot of rehab to support his recovery. Jacob is so goofy and absolutely loves adventures! In spite of all that's happened to him, he pushes himself to climb stairs, go say hi to our other dogs and play, and he always has the biggest grin on his face! We're a small rescue group in Thailand helping offer emergency care for dogs who otherwise would not receive any intervention. Jacob was found abandoned and homeless, unable to even drag himself. He would have died without care. We jumped in but we need help with funds! Update 9/2/25 Jacob goes in for surgery today. This is just the start of Jacob's journey and we will be there with him every step of the way.

Sweet Pea
Help poor pup Sweet Pea get the care she needs to stabilize a shattered jaw
Mae Rim, CA • Hand to Paw Foundation
Hand to Paw Rescue was heartbroken when they found Sweet Pea on the streets, her jaw hanging painfully out of place. She was so thin it was clear she hadn’t been able to eat in weeks, and she had been left to suffer far too long without anyone stepping in to help. The team rushed her to the best orthopedic clinic in town, where x-rays revealed something even worse—Sweet Pea had been shot in the face, and the bullet had shattered her jaw. She needed emergency surgery right away to stabilize her jaw and give her the chance to eat and live again. Despite her unimaginable pain, Sweet Pea still wagged her tail and leaned in for affection, just wanting love. Sweet Pea has no family of her own, but Hand to Paw stepped up to be hers. After weeks of suffering on the streets, her surgery saved her life—and now she even has a forever home waiting for her once she fully recovers. With your support, Hand to Paw can cover the cost of Sweet Pea’s lifesaving surgery and give this brave girl the future she deserves—one filled with full meals, gentle hands, and the safety of a loving home where she will never be left to suffer alone again. Update 9/26/25 Sweet Pea is slowly learning how to eat and learn to play with other dogs. She is still on soft foods as she adjusts to a jaw with plates which were installed to stabilize the areas that were damaged when she was shot. She is doing remarkably well and is gaining weight!

Latte
Latte Was Found Limping With a Painful, Infected Wound — She Needs Treatment to Heal
Mae Rim, CA • Hand to Paw Foundation
Hand to Paw Rescue never hesitates to step in when an animal needs help, and that’s exactly what happened with little Latte. When their team went out to provide vaccinations and food for Latte, her siblings, and her mom, they noticed something was very wrong. Latte was limping badly, and her wound was already infected with pus and fly eggs. Without a second thought, Hand to Paw brought her to the clinic so she could get daily wound cleanings, antibiotics, and pain relief. Even in pain, Latte wagged her tail the whole time, soaking up every bit of love and attention. Her sweet puppy breath reminded the team of coffee—so they named her Latte. Teddy
Hit, Hurt, and Left Behind — But You Can Change the Ending
Mae Rim, CA • Hand to Paw Foundation
Just days ago, Teddy was the victim of a devastating hit and run on the streets of Thailand, right near a busy bus stop. A kind passerby saw the accident unfold — the tiny puppy thrown to the ground and left there, crying and unable to move. She was heartbroken but on her way to work and hoped someone else would stop to help. But when she returned on her lunch break, Teddy was still there, in the same spot, crying out in pain. No one had stopped. No one had helped. She rushed him to safety and did everything she could, but quickly realized his injuries were too severe for her to manage alone. That’s when she reached out to Hand to Paw Foundation. Teddy’s injuries are serious: - A broken shoulder - A fractured back leg - And dangerously low red blood cell levels (anemia), making him too fragile for immediate surgery. He’s currently in the hospital, receiving around-the-clock care to stabilize him before surgery can even begin. His little body is fighting hard — and the good news is, with proper treatment, his prognosis is strong. Hand to Paw Foundation is a small nonprofit that provides care and rescue to the street animals of Thailand. Please help them give Teddy the bright future he deserves.

Betsy
Abandoned for Being Sick—Help Betsy Feel Comfortable in Her Skin Again
Mae Rim, CA • Hand to Paw Foundation
Eight months ago, sweet Betsy’s world was turned upside down. She was abandoned on the streets of Thailand by the very person who once promised to love and protect her. The reason? Her painful and persistent skin condition became too much for her owner to handle. Alone and confused, Betsy was left to suffer—itching, scratching, and slowly losing hope. But then, a kind-hearted neighbor saw her suffering and couldn’t turn away. With no resources, he did what he could, treating her with local herbs and homemade remedies. It wasn’t enough, but it was love. He did everything he could, but Betsy needed more help. When Hand to Paw met Betsy, she was covered in raw, irritated patches of skin and clearly in distress from the constant itch. Her tail wagged nervously, as if afraid to believe someone might finally help. Hand to Paw started her on proper veterinary care, but Betsy’s journey to healing is just beginning. To fully recover, Betsy will need long-term allergy medications, medicated baths, regular check-ups, and ongoing support to ensure she never goes through this kind of suffering again. Please donate today and be part of Betsy’s healing journey.

Bailey
Help Bailey Heal: From the Streets of Thailand to a Safe, Happy Life
Mae Rim, CA • Hand to Paw Foundation
Bailey is a gentle street dog from Thailand who was found in a heartbreaking condition. He had suffered severe trauma to his head and eye, and the local villagers initially thought it was caused by a bullet wound. Upon further examination, it was discovered that his injuries were the result of scalding water. The wounds were so severe that without immediate care, Bailey wouldn't have survived. Thankfully, Hand to Paw stepped in to provide him with a safe foster home where he could heal. They even built him a special enclosure to help him feel secure while he adjusts to his new life. Bailey is understandably shy and timid after everything he has been through, and his enclosure offers him the comfort and safety he needs during this time. One of his most difficult injuries is the damage to his left eye, where the skin was completely burned off. Without the ability to blink, Bailey faces constant risk of dry eye and painful ulcers, so the only option for him is eye removal. However, his skin is too fragile for surgery just yet, and we are giving him a few months to strengthen before that step can be taken. Bailey is a sweet, resilient soul, and he deserves the chance to live a happy, pain-free life. Thank you for joining us in helping this beautiful soul find peace and happiness.

Devastating flash floods sweep through Mae Tang, Thailand leaving pets and citizens with nothing
Mae Rim, CA • Hand to Paw Foundation
When flash floods swept through Mae Tang, Thailand, families were forced to flee their homes, leaving everything behind. Many returned to find their homes buried in mud and waterlogged, with their belongings destroyed and no access to food, clean water, or electricity. For these families, access to essential pet care quickly became a daily struggle as they fought to survive and recover. That’s where Hand to Paw steps in. A donation today will help provide critical supplies and support to those in need, giving them a lifeline as they begin to rebuild their lives. Update 10/14/24: We loaded up 2 trucks and 3 cars full of supplies such as pet and human food, water, pet medications, pads, and more! We spent the afternoon distributing to families who suffered terrible flash flooding in Mae Tang (Thailand) and lost so much when the water filled their homes. The devastation is tragic but the love and support is nothing short of extraordinary. Update 10/15/24: We walked through a home today where the muddy water had left stains on the walls. Absolutely everything was wrecked- the current during the floods had been so strong that even the motorbike was swept away and the house walls had been destroyed. The mud covered absolutely everything. The villagers said the water rose incredibly fast and was unlike anything they’d ever seen. People evacuated quickly to escape the rising flood, only to come back to their homes and find that most everything was submerged and ruined. Mattresses, appliances, clothes, furniture, books, food, pet supplies, and precious things were all washed away. Update 10/22/24: We were able to purchase additional supplies and make a delivery of loads of medications, pet food and human food, flashlights, high power water jets for cleaning, clothes, and lots and lots of supplies to help rebuild what was so violently taken away by the floods. We are able to make sure people and their pets have at least the bare minimum - a bed and food - during this tragic time.

Boonrod
Boonrod is a 5 year old Mix-Breed in Thailand who needs $1,500 for Emergency Hernia Repair and Hip Surgery.
Mae Rim, CA • Hand to Paw Foundation
Hand to Paw This is Boonrod, a street dog in Lamphun Thailand, who was hit by a car and suffered a broken pelvis and subsequent hernia (a tear in the muscles that is allowing intestines to come out in ways they shouldn’t). Boonrod ended up needing to go into emergency surgery - we were hoping to wait until he was less severely anemic but there were increasing problems with his bladder (which had been pushed out of the muscle wall and was twisted near the tailbone, bulging out with a ball of intestines) and this was creating increasing issues with his kidneys and liver. So in spite of it not being ideal surgery conditions, in order to try and save his life, we had to take a risk. Since his bladder was pushed up backwards near his tail for a while, in spite of it having been placed back to a normal position, he struggled to urinate on his own. He is taking supplements and requires manual support to express urine but the doctor suspects this is temporary. He has recovered well from this first procedure but still requires hip surgery. Despite being in immense pain, Boonrod is such a sweet, loving dog. Hand to Paw helps street dogs like Boonrod when no one else will. Please donate to help Boonrod get his second chance. Update 9/1/2024: Boonrod is doing extremely well! He is feeling much better now that his intestines and bladder are back where they are supposed to be. Now that he is strong enough, Boonrod is going in today for a second surgery to repair his bones. We are hopeful this will be his final surgery and he'll be completely healed soon!
