Help give Peggy the happy ending she’s been waiting for.

Murphy, TX • CAMO Rescue

A few months ago, Peggy was hit by a car and left chained outside her owner’s home with an injured leg. For far too long, she knew nothing but pain, fear, and discomfort. Thankfully, CAMO Rescue was contacted and saved her. She has now successfully undergone surgery to amputate her injured leg and is finally getting the care, comfort, and love she deserves while recovering. Her journey is far from over, but for the first time in months, Peggy has hope. Now, they’re asking for your help to give Peggy the second chance she so desperately deserves. Donations will help cover her surgery, medical care, medications, recovery, and the continued care she needs as she heals. Please consider donating to Peggy’s recovery. Every dollar makes a difference, and every share helps us reach someone who may be able to help. After everything Peggy has been through, she deserves to know what it feels like to be safe, loved, and pain-free.

Big Boy

This gentle giant did not deserve the abuse he endured. Please show him he is loved!

Murphy, TX • CAMO Rescue

Welcome Big Boy to Camo Rescue! The President of CAMO Rescue said this is the kind of stuff that keeps her awake at night. This dog came close to being euthanized because nobody else stepped up for him. Even though CAMO is beyond capacity, they quickly intervened. She couldn’t stand the thought of him having led such a terrible life only to be euthanized. He was reluctant to get up, hypersalivating, not eating, and showing labored breathing. His chest radiographs were taken and reviewed by the DVM, confirming that he needed to leave immediately. He is now at the ER being treated for a Upper Respiratory Infection with a fever of 105! He arrived covered in up to 10–12 inches of matted hair caked with urine and feces. He required a 150-minute procedure under general anesthesia with three staff members working continuously to shave him down to the skin with surgical-grade blades. He suffered from severe skin breakdown, white discoloration, and scarring around his neck from months to years of continuous tension, ulceration, and exposure to waste. His tail skin was raw, bleeding, and irritated, and both ears were heavily infected. His nails were long, curled, and nearly piercing his paw pads. The DVM noted this was the absolute worst case of hair matting they had ever seen. The staff at the vets office said he is so sweet. CAMO Rescue promises to their best by him, and they urgenly need your help to care for this sweet boy who did not deserve the abuse he endured. He is now safe and receiving the proper medical treatment, but it is coming at a cost. If you are able to give, even a small amount, it would make a huge difference. Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Milo, Teddy, Will, & Holly

Milo, Teddy, Will, & Holly urgently need your support.

Murphy, TX • CAMO Rescue

CAMO rescued four little puppies who didn’t understand why they were suddenly tossed outside like trash. Milo, Teddy, Holly, and tiny Will huddled together, their little bodies crawling with fleas, their bellies aching from parasites, their spirits dimmed by neglect. They took them to the vet. The puppies were severely anemic, and little Will was the most critical of them all. His gums were white, his heartbeat was weak, his tiny frame struggling under the weight of illness. He needed a blood transfusion to survive. Right now, all four of these puppies need _you_. If you’re able, CAMO Rescue is asking for donations to help cover the emergency care, transfusions, medications, and ongoing treatment that Milo, Teddy, Holly, and especially little Will desperately need. Every dollar helps CAMO continue saving the ones who would otherwise be lost.

Half of Maple Anne's tongue fell out of her mouth. Please give her a second chance!

Murphy, TX • CAMO Rescue

She deserved more than to be given up on. This sweet senior girl, now named Maple Anne, was found huddled outside the door of a public works office and taken to Missouri City Animal Shelter. When shelter staff told CAMO Rescue she wasn't eating, they knew they had to give her a chance. As they prepared her for transport, an animal control officer took one more look and made a heartbreaking discovery. Her tongue was necrotic, and when they gently opened her mouth, a large piece of it detached. They asked if they should euthanize her. CAMO immediately said no. She deserves the opportunity to be evaluated, to have her pain treated, and to know that someone is willing to fight for her. She's now on her way to their veterinarian, where they'll learn what's causing this devastating condition and whether treatment is possible. They don't know what the outcome will be, but they couldn't let her story end without trying. CAMO Rescue is asking for your help to give this sweet girl the second chance she deserves. Your donation will help cover her emergency examination, diagnostics, pain management, and any treatment that may be available. Every dollar helps them continue saying "yes" to animals like Maple Anne, even when the road ahead is uncertain. Please consider donating today. Together, we can make sure this gentle soul knows compassion, comfort, and love—no matter what tomorrow brings. 7/16/26 Update The vet for CAMO Rescue is removing the necrotic part of her tongue today. Paterson, NJ

Dak, my 10-year-old Shih Tzu, is the heart of our family. He’s loving, playful, and always by our side, bringing comfort and happiness into our lives every single day. His excitement when he sees us and the love he gives is unmatched. Dak is not just a pet—he is our best friend, our companion, and a true member of our family who means everything to us. Dak is suffering from a perineal hernia that is causing him severe discomfort and making it very difficult for him to use the bathroom. He strains and is clearly in pain, which is heartbreaking to watch. Without urgent surgery, his condition can worsen and become life-threatening. The cost is $5,000–$6,000, and he is being treated at Eclipse Animal Hospital by Dr. Jennifer Bonczynski. Dak is so much more than a pet; he is a beloved member of our family. For 10 years, he has filled our home with love, happiness, and companionship. His playful spirit, loyalty, and unconditional love have brought us comfort through good times and difficult moments. Dak has a special place in our hearts, and we want to do everything we can to give him the happy, healthy life he deserves. The cost of Dak’s surgery is more than I can manage right now. I have been on disability since October after knee surgery and am just beginning to return to work. Taking on a $5,000–$6,000 medical expense would create a serious financial strain. No dog should have to navigate the world in complete darkness. This sweet little Poodle named Leon, estimated to be just 3 to 4 years old, was found wandering aimlessly in the scorching heat with no one looking for him. Confused, exhausted, and unable to see where he was going, he was simply trying to survive. A kindhearted person stopped to help and brought him to the veterinarian, where CAMO rescue learned the heartbreaking truth. One of his eyes was completely missing, and the other was severely infected. Tragically, he is blind in that eye as well. Judging by his condition, it's clear he has been neglected for a very long time. Despite everything he's endured, this gentle little boy has shown nothing but trust. Now it's our turn to show him that life can be kind. He'll need ongoing veterinary care, treatment for his painful eye infection, diagnostics, and the support he'll need to adjust to life as a blind dog. She also has multiple mammary masses that will require further evaluation, and it's suspected she has significant dental disease as well. Right now, she's too uncomfortable for a full oral examination, so relieving her pain is their first priority. Despite everything she's endured, Jessi has been gentle and trusting. He arrived injured, with wounds that suggest he may have been hit by a car or possibly suffered burns. Despite his pain and fear, he has remained incredibly gentle and loving. With no one coming for him and his time running out, euthanasia was his next stop. Thankfully, Camo Rescue said yes. Now, his journey to healing begins. He needs veterinary care, diagnostics, treatment, and time to recover from both his physical and emotional wounds. Murphy, TX • CAMO Rescue

Our hearts are breaking. Even though we are already stretched beyond capacity, we simply couldn't say no to five abandoned puppies fighting for their lives. These babies were found dumped in the woods, sick with Parvo, alongside the bodies of three deceased siblings. If not for a persistent dog who kept barking and leading their owner back into the woods, these puppies may never have been found in time. The rescue that discovered them desperately wanted to help but could not afford the extensive veterinary care they need. While we are also struggling financially, we knew we had to step in and give these puppies a chance. Right now, they are on their way to our veterinarian for emergency Parvo treatment, including monoclonal antibody therapy—a lifesaving treatment that comes with a significant cost. Their medical bills will add up quickly, but we refuse to let money be the reason they don't get the care they deserve. These puppies have already lost so much. They have lost their siblings, their safety, and the people who should have protected them. Now they need us. Please consider making a donation to help cover their emergency medical care. 6 senior Shih Tzus urgently need your help.

Murphy, TX • CAMO Rescue

CAMO welcomed these six adorable senior Shih Tzus to their rescue. Their story is a heartbreaking one. Their owner had reached a point where she could no longer care for them—or even for herself. As a result, these sweet seniors have been living in deplorable conditions. They are painfully itchy, suffering from skin infections, and battling severe dental disease that has likely caused discomfort for a very long time. Sadly, because the shelter is full and has no space for owner surrenders, these dogs were facing euthanasia. Many people don't realize that owner-surrendered pets can be euthanized immediately, as they are not protected by the same stray hold period required for lost animals. Thankfully, the shelter reached out, and CAMO Rescue was able to step in before it was too late. Now safe in their care, these six precious dogs have a chance at the life they deserve. But they all need extensive veterinary care, including dental procedures, heartworm testing, bloodwork, spay/neuter surgeries, medications, and treatment for their skin conditions. The cost of caring for six senior dogs is significant, and they cannot do it alone. They are asking for donations to help provide the medical care these cuties desperately need and deserve. As their veterinary team cleaned and treated her injuries, they hoped the damage wasn't as severe as it appeared. Unfortunately, X-rays revealed devastating injuries: multiple fractures on both sides of her pelvis. Despite the pain she must be feeling, this sweet dog continues to fight. For now, her best chance at healing is strict crate confinement, pain management, antibiotics, wound care, and ongoing veterinary monitoring. Her road to recovery will be long, and the medical costs are already adding up. We are asking for donations to help cover her treatment, medications, diagnostics, and continued care. Murphy, TX • CAMO Rescue

More than 40 Dachshunds and Dachshund mixes are trapped in a heartbreaking hoarding situation in San Jacinto County, Texas. Adult dogs, pregnant mothers, and newborn puppies are all crowded together on a tiny piece of property, living in rapidly deteriorating conditions. When CAMO arrived, they found out there were actually 23--she didn't know how many there were. Some had nails so overgrown they were curling into their paw pads. A few are battling painful skin conditions. They are inbred, undersocialized, and confused about the world—but they are friendly. They want to trust. They want comfort. They just haven’t been shown how yet. Now they are safe, but safety is only the first step. Twenty-three dogs means twenty-three sets of vaccinations, exams, deworming, flea prevention, and ongoing care. The medical needs alone are significant, and this is an expense they were not prepared for. If you can help at all cover the cost of getting these dogs healthy and ready for new beginnings, please consider donating. Murphy, TX • CAMO Rescue

She had hours left. Her name was already on the euthanasia list at the San Antonio shelter. A young dog—just 3 to 4 years old—with her whole life still ahead of her. But because of a concerning mass and no one stepping forward, her time was running out. Thankfully, CAMO rescue couldn’t look away. Now she’s safe. And the first thing they noticed? She is unbelievably sweet. Gentle eyes. Soft tail wags. The kind of dog who leans into you like she’s known you forever. It’s hard to imagine how close she came to never getting this second chance. But her fight isn’t over. CAMO is urgently working to have the mass evaluated and tested. They are hoping the mass isn't cancerous. At fifteen years old, she was out of time at a high-kill shelter. Eliza—now lovingly called Pup—was sitting on the euthanasia list. At the end of the day, CAMO received the call: no one had stepped forward. No interest. No plan. Just a senior dog waiting for her final moments. So, of course, they said yes. Now safe with CAMO Rescue, Pup is finally off that list—but her fight is far from over. She is a medical heartbreak. She has three separate masses: a large, hard mass on her left hip, another on her right hip, and one along her mammary chain on her chest. Her ears are painful, her teeth are in poor condition, and at fifteen years old, her body has clearly been through more than it ever should have. And yet, she is here. Still gentle. Still deserving. Then Obsidian appeared Obsidian is facing several serious medical issues all at once. His L eye needs to be surgically removed. his recent bloodwork revealed that he is severely anemic, he may have an underlying clotting disorder, which makes every procedure, every blood draw, and even the surgery itself far riskier. These conditions together create a complex and urgent medical situation that requires specialized care He curled up beside me on the nights I couldn’t sleep, followed me from room to room when the silence felt too heavy, and reminded me that love can still find us even when everything feels broken. He didn’t just become a pet; he became my family, my comfort, and my emotional lifeline. I am currently a nursing student and have an 18-yr old son. I work full time, but it is not enough to save for an emergency let alone an emergency involving my cat. Obsidian has helped me through the darkest time in my life and now I need help, helping him.

Moose Needs Your Help to Fund His Life-Saving Amputation

Hawthorne, NJ • A Pathway to Hope

Moose greets every day blissfully unaware that he’s any different. He needs his bladder expressed to urinate, he unknowingly soils himself, and his wobbly walk, as adorable as it is, leaves him vulnerable to injury. His special needs require extraordinary dedication, constant cleaning, and endless patience from his foster family. That is why finding him an adoptive home has been nearly impossible. But here, at A Pathway to Hope, we are committed — and so is Moose’s foster family. As for our Moose, he simply lives, loves, and plays through it all. Now our sweet, special-needs boy urgently needs another surgery. Due to complications from spina bifida, Moose must have his tail amputated. The way he moves causes constant pressure, repeated injuries, and ongoing infections that can no longer safely heal. Tail amputation is now the only way to keep him safe and comfortable. Please give today to help fund Moose’s surgery. It is life-saving care he urgently needs to stay healthy, safe, and pain-free. Moose has endured so much, yet he never stops fighting for hope. Gary’s life almost ended over a treatable condition, now he needs your help

Hawthorne, NJ • A Pathway to Hope

Sweet, chubby Gary was living his happy, normal life until one night everything changed. He suddenly stopped eating and drinking and could no longer make it to the litter box to urinate. Panicked, his family rushed him to the vet only to hear the scary news: Gary had diabetes. Within hours, his condition spiraled into diabetic ketoacidosis, a serious and life-threatening complication. He needed immediate hospitalization and intensive care to survive. But when faced with the reality of a nearly $5000 medical bill, Gary’s family decided they could no longer care for him. Despite his illness being the result of his weight gain — something that could have been managed — they chose to walk away. Thankfully, Eclipse Specialty Vet Care refused to give up on him. They knew Gary’s condition was treatable and that he deserved a fighting chance. All they needed was someone to step in and help. That’s when A Pathway to Hope Rescue answered the call. Now, with the help of the specialty hospital, A Pathway to Hope is managing Gary’s treatment. Once he’s stable, he’ll head to a foster home. But Gary cannot do this without you. Your donation will help cover his specialized care and give him the second chance he deserves. Every dollar helps bring Gary closer to recovery and to the loving future he’s been waiting for. 4/22/26 Update Thank you to everyone who supported Gary through his healing journey! We are so thankful for the love and care you showed him and are happy to share that he has fully healed. He is now living his best life as a happy and healthy adult cat.

For 18 long years, Champ knew only one family. He grew up beside them, never expecting that one day he’d be left behind. But recently, Champ was dropped off at a shelter with no idea of what is to come or what he did wrong. No pet should ever have to face that kind of loss. After nearly two decades of devotion, Champ was surrendered simply because he was “too old.” When he arrived, he smelled of urine, his legs were weak, and his teeth were in painful condition, all clear signs that he hadn’t received the care he deserved. Yet despite all that, Champ still wags his tail at the sound of a kind voice. He still believes that love is possible. Champ needs urgent medical care, including treatment for his legs, dental work to ease his pain, and the gentle attention of people who see his worth. With your help, we can give him the comfort, health, and dignity every senior dog deserves. Please, help us give Champ the second chance he’s waited his whole life for. Every donation, no matter the size, brings him closer to the love and care he’s been missing. 8/11/26 Update Thanks to you, Champ was able to get adopted into a loving and wonderful home. Winston

Help Winston Overcome His Life-Threatening Condition

Hawthorne, NJ • A Pathway to Hope

At just 10 months old, Winston came to A Pathway to Hope on the brink of euthanasia after being diagnosed with a life-threatening urinary blockage. His owner, unable to manage his care and unknowingly contributing to his condition through improper nutrition, had run out of options. With no other rescue able to take on the financial burden, and despite already facing over $30,000 in recent emergency medical costs, they couldn't say no to sweet Winston. They were his only hope. As a result of never receiving proper cat food or vital nutrients, Winston developed a severe Vitamin C deficiency that led to skeletal damage. His bones were brittle and underdeveloped, and advanced imaging revealed multiple fractures: old breaks in his pelvis and at least one new spinal fracture. These injuries left him unable to posture to urinate, resulting in repeated and untreated urinary tract infections that ultimately caused multiple blockages. It took four hospitals and numerous diagnostics to uncover the full picture. He was transferred to 24-hour hospitalization for a urinary blockage (underlying cause not yet known). After being discharged, his condition rapidly declined, prompting a second emergency visit to the vet. But due to suspected neurological concerns, he was transferred to a specialist; however, he showed no signs of neurological abnormalities. The critical care team performed an ultrasound, revealing cystitis and bladder wall thickening, along with advanced X-rays and additional diagnostics. It was through these images and the expertise of the medical team that the true cause of Winston’s condition was finally uncovered: severe nutritional deficiency and resulting orthopedic trauma. Throughout this ordeal, Winston has been in excruciating pain from his fractured spinal cord and healing pelvis, only to be managed right now with IV pain medication. His initial hospitalization alone carried a cost of over $2,000. The ongoing estimate for Eclipse Specialty Hospital now totals $9,718 before a generous 20% discount. Even as medical costs climbed, they continued advocating for Winston. Their team tracked down his former owner and asked detailed questions that proved crucial in understanding the root of his condition. Today, Winston remains hospitalized on IV pain management and a carefully monitored treatment plan. He is expected to remain in the hospital for at least 48 more hours while his urinary catheter is in place, his pain is stabilized, and he begins eating independently. He’s slowly accepting spoon feeding and Churu treats—small steps on a long road. Despite everything, Winston’s prognosis is hopeful. With proper supplements, balanced nutrition, and 4–6 weeks of crate rest, his fractures are expected to heal and his bones to strengthen. Thanks to a collaborative, multi-hospital effort, the dedication of exceptional medical professionals, and the unwavering commitment of volunteers who refused to give up—along with your support—Winston now has a real chance at life. Winston’s life would have ended not from a lack of medical solutions, but from a lack of resources. Because this amazing rescue said yes—and because of compassionate supporters like you— Winston is still here, fighting for the future he deserves. Will you continue to support him? Update 8/20/25 Winston had his recheck last week, and we have wonderful news! 💙 This brave little survivor is doing SO well. His bloodwork was improved, and his medical team is thrilled with his progress. As he heals, Winston is starting to move more – and his sassy, quirky personality is shining through! He remains on strict crate rest to allow his pelvic and spinal fractures to mend and is receiving supplements to support his recovery. After surviving on nothing but chicken, he’s still picky, but we’re celebrating the small victories! Winston is finally eating cat food, including dry food and being spoon-fed Churu treats like the king he is. 👑

Connor is a 8 year old Jack Russell Terrier in Teaneck, NJ, who needs $2,000 for Leptospirosis and Kidney Failure Treatment.

Teaneck, NJ

We bought Connor as a puppy 8,5 years ago from a small breeder in Florida. He moved with us to New Jersey and has been a deeply loved part of our family ever since. We named him after John Connor from Terminator 2 — a film my ex husband and I both loved. He’s sweet but strong-willed, and definitely lives up to the name! He is a kind dog, he loves people and extremely anxious to stay alone. Connor was diagnosed with leptospirosis after showing signs of vomiting and extreme fatigue. He was treated at Eclipse Hospital in Whippany, where tests showed kidney failure and dangerously high creatinine. He urgently needed dialysis, and two rounds were done. He is improving now, but recovery will be long and expensive. Connor means the world to me. He adores rubber duckies and loves stealing my daughter’s dolls to cuddle with. Thunder terrifies him, and during storms, I don’t sleep—I stay by his side to comfort him. He’s more than a dog; he’s my beloved son. My heart breaks seeing him scared and unwell, and I want to do everything to help him heal. I’m divorced and work for myself, with no steady income. I’ve already spent nearly $30,000 trying to save Connor. He’s not just a dog — he’s my whole world and my greatest joy. Without help, I fear losing him and falling apart myself. But only a few days ago, after eating a loaf of banana bread, Tucker fell seriously ill. Emergencies can’t wait, and we need your help now! Please keep Tucker in your thoughts. Your donation will directly help keep him in the hospital, receiving the critical care he desperately needs. Thank you for your generosity and hope!

Chance

Chance is a 10 year old Siberian Husky in Hawthorne, NJ, who needs $2,000 for severe anemia, malnutrition, lethargy and painful.

Hawthorne, NJ • A Pathway to Hope

URGENT! Discarded outside, covered in maggots, senior husky needs his second “Chance!” Starving, covered in maggots and too weak to stand, Chance was abandoned in an inner city neighborhood. He is a gentle senior husky who has been through so much mistreatment in his life, but his spirit remains unbroken. Even at his worst, lifeless and lethargic, Chance wagged his tail when he saw another dog, crying out for companionship. Chance’s suspected “owners” claimed to have found him, as he slowly starved in the yard. When rushed to the hospital, he wasn’t expected to survive, but this resilient boy fought back. His kind friends at the shelter were determined to give him his second chance at his best life. The message came in this weekend, “I don’t mean to do this to you…” but Chance needed to find rescue by the day’s end. One of our incredible husky families who has helped to rehabilitate Burton, Ford and Kenai, stepped forward to help Chance. We need your support to provide Chance with the medical care he so desperately has been lacking. He is battling severe anemia, malnutrition, lethargy and painful maggot-infested wounds. He visited the vet again today and was shaved down to clean his wounds and is now on antibiotics. Please hold Chance in your hearts, as he is really struggling today. We are hopeful that tomorrow is a better day for Chance, and with your support, we can do everything in our power to give him the devoted care he needs. *Update 1/27: In Loving Memory of Chance Chance’s final months were truly the best of his life, filled with love and care from his devoted family. Despite his difficult past, his spirit remained strong. He healed and thrived under the tender care of his human family and his pack—especially his loyal best friend and protector, Burton. 🐾 Thanks to his family's unwavering commitment, Chance's last days were surrounded with love. They lovingly shared, “Our boy Chance crossed the rainbow bridge today to begin his next adventure. He gave us 4 amazing months and made such an impact on us. He taught us so many lessons, and though he overcame so many odds, he was old and tired, and we promised we wouldn’t let him suffer. We are so honored to have been his family during this time and hope he knew nothing but love. It took a village to save him, and we’re forever grateful to A Pathway to Hope for trusting us, Plains Animal Hospital for their care, and everyone who cheered him on and supported his journey. Please don’t overlook the old, sick, or handicapped animals—they have so much love to give. Our time with Chance was short but amazing. Run free, buddy. Say hi to Buddy and Lucky for us. We love you so much.” 💕 Thanks to Rob, Joanna, and their wonderful family Chance had everything he needed in this life to move on with love and peace in his heart. And thank you to our Pathway family for supporting Chance’s care, ensuring his final months were filled with comfort. Run free, beautiful boy! You will forever be in our hearts. ❤️

Stitch is a 3 month old Chihuahua in Oakland, NJ, who needs $2,000 for Parvovirus.

Oakland, NJ • Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge

* Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge and A Pathway to Hope * Abandoned puppy with parvo rushed to hospital with a prolapsed rectum. At just 1.8 kg, this helpless puppy was dumped at a vets office in Paterson with the deadly parvovirus - so severe that part of his intestines came out his rectum. He is suffering from severe diarrhea and a painfully prolapsed anus. We quickly mobilized, partnering with animal control and our friends at the Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge to save this pup, who we named Stitch after his resemblance to the Disney character. We hold onto hope that Stitch will overcome parvo and emerge healed. While his little tush is shocking to see, the worst battle for Stitch is against parvo, which is a potentially fatal disease that cruelly attacks the gastrointestinal system of dogs. 9/24- Stitch Update: From abandoned to beloved. We are excited to share that our adorable little Frenchie / Chihuahua Stitch is healed and thriving in his foster home! After being abandoned outside a veterinarian’s office, suffering from parvo and a prolapsed rectum, Stitch found comfort, medical care and love in the hearts of RBARI and A Pathway to Hope. Stitch has stolen the hearts of his foster family during his recovery. He is a bundle of joy, known for his playful antics and sweet personality. He loves snuggles as much as he enjoys romping about in the backyard. Stitch’s beautiful spirit brightens every day!

Falafel

Falafel is a 6 year old Mix-Breed in Clifton, NJ, who needs $2,000 for Blood Transfusions.

Clifton, NJ

We found falafel on the side of the road in Saint Martin in the Caribbean. Starved bitten by lizards and bugs. She had nothing but a piece of material around her neck and a rusty collar the only remnants of those who abandoned her. We brought her to our house, cleaned her up and within 48 hours, got her on a plane to bring her back to the United States. Falafel was a street dog in Saint Martin. She left a hard life and sustained multiple insect bites. She was bitten by ticks and developed fever there. We did not know this when we rescued her. She is now fighting for her life in the intensive care unit at eclipse animal Hospital in Whippany, New Jersey with auto immune hemolytic anemia. Brought about by the same bites she sustained as a pup. What is amazing she is loving and caring the best also the best mother in the world. She lives with her sister Enza, who is also rescued from Saint Martin and seven cat siblings who she has taken to. She’s playful and funny and loves to bury things in the yard. We miss having her active and playful. So far we have been able to dip into our savings to pay for falafel, but it is much much more than we can handle. Tens of thousands of dollars, and more treatments and a longer hospitalization are needed.

Rocky

Rocky is a 11 month old Siberian Husky in Hawthorne, NJ, who needs $2,000 for Orthopedic Consult and Eye Consult, Urinary Issues.

Hawthorne, NJ • A Pathway to Hope

* A Pathway to Hope * Rocky spent his whole life crouched in a small crate – 24/7. He came into rescue matted and soaked in his own urine and feces. All his joints are soft and lax, and he walks on part of his legs due to a hyperextension. His legs are bowed, and one foot appears larger. His eyes are different sizes, droopy and almost hidden – likely not fully developed. His vision is questionable. We don’t know if Rocky’s special needs have anything to do with his horrible start to life, but we do know that his neglect has only exacerbated his condition. Rocky will be visiting an eye specialist, as well as an orthopedist. Rocky is approximately 40 pounds, and looks like a miniature cross between a husky, malamute, and muppet. Rocky is an amazing soul. Despite the extreme neglect Rocky faced, he is playful, loving and desperately wants to make friends. He doesn’t quite know how to play yet, but he is trying to learn (awkwardly) and is so excited when other dogs will play with him as he clumsily wrestles with his best husky voice. Our sweet, special needs boy came to Pathway on Sunday, and we need your help to provide him with the advanced medical care he so deserves. Rocky is ridiculously adorable and so deserves this second chance. Thank you for your hope!

Moose is a 4 month old Mix-Breed in Hawthorne, NJ, who needs $1,300 for Nerve Damage.

Hawthorne, NJ • A Pathway to Hope

* A Pathway to Hope * Despite nerve damage, we have hope baby Moose has a long life ahead! But…we need your help! Please help us to get Moose the specialized care and diagnostics needed to survive and thrive. Little Moose was discovered with his siblings after his mom was suspected to have been hit by a car. A wonderful couple trapped the kittens, knowing they were not safe, and reached out to area rescues, with no reply. Realizing that one of the kittens was unwell and much smaller than the others, with what they believed to be “swimmers syndrome” (an unsteady gait), as well as incontinence, they took him to the veterinarian. It was initially thought that Moose had a deformity not allowing him to empty his bladder, and a specialty hospital was recommended. The hope was surgical correction. The couple continued to reach out unsuccessfully to rescues for help. Moose’s rescuer and foster mom shared, “Please get back to me… I really need help with him.” As soon as we saw little Moose, and the devotion that this family had to finding him help, we knew we had to do everything we could for this little fighter. We teamed up with our best partners at RBARI to give baby Moose every chance at life. Sadly, however, following a consultation with a surgeon at a specialty hospital, it was found that Moose has nerve damage, and this could be a lifelong condition. The next step is a consultation with a neurologist to determine Moose’s long term prognosis. We have gotten this far in helping Moose, and his devoted foster family – but we need your help! Please consider a donation towards Moose’s upcoming consultation and continued care, as we do everything we can to give this baby the life he deserves. To find out more about adoption, please visit apathwaytohope.org. Update 2/22: Moose is thriving and not letting anything slow him down! Moose has adjusted wonderfully to his new life with his incredibly devoted foster family, and he's become the social butterfly of the household! He’s the first to greet any new foster cat, playing all day with his foster brother. Despite his mobility challenges, he doesn’t let anything slow him down—he easily keeps up with the other cats and even enjoys baths now! Moose's favorite thing? Churros! He has to be the first to get one, or he'll try to steal it from his foster friends. His foster mom says, "We love him very much and are so glad he found us!" A Pathway to Hope couldn’t agree more—he truly has found his forever place in their hearts.

Pebble

Pebble is a 8 month old American Pit Bull Terrier in Hawthorne, NJ, who needs $2,000 for Hospitalization and Amputation.

Hawthorne, NJ • A Pathway to Hope

Pebble has been let down by humans many times in his short life - all leading to a horrific accident that shattered his leg. Pebble was hit by a car while his family watched in horror. The driver yelled “it’s just a dog” and drove off. Pebble was unable to walk on his front legs. His family took him to a local hospital. His family left him, declining to pay medical treatment or for xrays. The owners took Pebble home, not allowing us to take him for care, then contacted us the next day, when his pain meds had worn off. We had Pebble admitted to Eclipse hospital, where he was stabilized and finally given pain relief. Pebble’s front right leg was shattered, the humerus badly broken with fragments all around the elbow. An orthopedist worked on his leg for hours, but could not save it Pebble is now an adorable tripod. He is good with all animals and children. Pebble has been released into foster and is truly a new dog! Happy, carefree and enjoying SO much adoration – his life is completely different than it was just days ago, when he lay in pain, with no hope in sight. He is enjoying long walks and lots of love with his foster mom! Pebble has been through too much in his short life – passed through owners, struck by a car, denied medical care, then taken home to suffer when help had come. But, Pebble is now under our care - please help us cover his medical expenses so we can continue our work.

Shamrock is a 10 month old Poodle in Oakland, NJ, who needs $2,000 for Orthopedic surgeries.

Oakland, NJ • Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge

Shamrock is an owner surrender. He was surrendered with old and new injuries of unknown cause. The hospital investigated the case and reached out to us to help with his care / foster / placement. Shamrock is being fostered with a veterinary technician who cared for him. Shamrock was surrendered to the hospital with fractures throughout his body. Shamrock had fractures of the left femur, right lower femur (older fracture), right tibia and fibula, multiple pelvic fractures, displaced pelvis, rib fractures (some older), spinal fractures (older), at least one tail fracture and skin lesions. He required two days of orthopedic surgery to piece him back together. Despite all that he has endured, Shamrock is a loving, sweet puppy. How Shamrock sustained so many injuries and survived, we will never know. Everyone adores him, and he loves the children and dogs in the home. He is making great progress in physical therapy. He is such a special puppy for enduring the unthinkable, then braving surgery and a long recovery. Shamrock’s short life hasn’t been easy, but through rescue he has found the loving care that changes everything. We are a non-profit no-kill shelter and rescue organization that does not get any public funding. We rely on donations to be able to continue our work.

Leo is a 8-month-old Golden Retriever in Oakland, NJ, who needs $2,000 for Esophageal Damage Due to Ingrown Collar.

Oakland, NJ • Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge

By the time Leo was surrendered to us, he had gone several days without being able to hold down food or water. He was being left outside unsupervised, with an esophageal foreign body initially suspected due to horrible swelling of his neck. Leo’s owner had removed his collar and not mentioned the injury. Leo was hospitalized, received medical care and is now in our shelter until he find a home. Leo is an 8-month-old golden, surrendered to RBARI with a hidden injury. After intensive medical care and hospitalization, Leo is healing and doing amazingly – so well in fact that his puppy energy is shining bright! This adorable golden puppy needs an active home willing to provide him with some training, patience and consistency. Leo is a happy, silly and active golden puppy! Despite being left outside alone with a collar that grew into his skin, and developing a severe injury to his esophagus, Leo's spirit, love for life and devotion to his humans never faltered. Leo had gone several days without being able to hold down food or water due to horrific injuries to his esophagus. Because his collar had been removed prior to surrender, the damage wasn’t immediately evident. His tight, ingrown collar had been strangling him, constricting his esophagus and creating severe swelling. He was essentially strangled by his collar, which had grown into his skin. Our resources have been pushed to the limit as the need increases at a distressing rate. We thank you for your commitment to providing personalized care to hurting animals in need, like Leo, when others have failed them.
