Help Piper Keep Chasing Adventures

Catawba, NC • Legacy Paws Rescue

Piper has been waiting longer than any other dog at Legacy Paws Rescue for her forever family. And if you know Piper, you know that’s hard to understand. She is pure joy. Piper loves exploring the trails, hunting for crawfish in the creek, riding in the Jeep, and playing catch... especially when it means diving after her ball in the water. But her favorite thing? Her massages. The moment she feels those gentle hands, Piper melts. She stretches out her legs, gives you the other side when she’s ready for more, and wags her entire body with happiness. It’s impossible not to smile when you see how much love and trust she has to give. A few months ago, we noticed something wasn’t quite right. After big days playing on the trails and in the creek, Piper was much more sore than usual. Then two of her friends came to visit for a week. Both had been previously adopted, and Piper was so excited to spend time with them again. They played hard, explored, and enjoyed every moment together... but afterward, Piper struggled. Some days, she could barely walk after those long days of fun. Seeing Piper, a dog who loves life so deeply, struggle was heartbreaking. She has now been referred to an orthopedic specialist, and this Friday we finally get answers. We’ll learn what is happening, what she needs, and how we can help her stay comfortable so she can keep doing the things she loves. At Legacy Paws Rescue, we believe our commitment doesn’t end while a dog waits for a family. Piper is loved, valued, and supported every step of the way. Please consider donating to help Piper receive the orthopedic care she needs. Every gift helps give her the chance to keep exploring, playing, and sharing the incredible love she has been waiting to give. Piper has waited so patiently for someone to choose her. Now, we’re asking our community to choose her too. 7/19/26 Update Today was a difficult day for Piper. We took her to see an orthopedic specialist, thinking her pain was coming from her hips. Instead, we received unexpected news. The problem isn't her hips at all. It's both of her knees. While it wasn't the news we were expecting, we finally have answers and, most importantly, a plan to help her. Piper will undergo the first of two surgeries this Thursday. After 8 to 10 weeks of recovery, she will need a second surgery on her other knee. It will be a long road, but we're committed to helping her every step of the way. One bright spot during today's appointment was Piper's incredible specialist. He took the time to explain exactly what is happening with her knees, allowed us to record his explanation, filmed her orthopedic exam, and will even be documenting her surgery. We hope sharing these videos will not only help others understand Piper's journey, but also raise awareness for other dogs who may be silently living with orthopedic pain. Dogs are incredibly good at hiding discomfort. By the time they start limping, struggling to get up, or slowing down, they may have been hurting for much longer than anyone realized. We hope Piper's story encourages more people to recognize those signs and seek veterinary care before the pain becomes even worse. As we prepare for Piper's first surgery, we are asking for your continued support. Your donations will help cover her orthopedic surgeries, follow up care, and rehabilitation so she can finally live the active, pain-free life she deserves. Thank you for standing with Piper. We can't wait to share more updates as she begins her journey toward recovery. 7/24/26 Update We have an update on this sweet girl! She's finally back home and resting after her procedure. As expected, she's experiencing quite a bit of pain and doesn't want to walk much right now, but she's recovering well and is surrounded by lots of love and comfort. The next few days will be focused on rest, pain management, and giving her body the time it needs to heal. While it's hard to see her uncomfortable, this is a normal part of the recovery process, and we're hopeful she'll begin feeling stronger with each passing day. Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared her story, and kept her in your thoughts. Your support is helping give her the care she needs, and we couldn't do it without you. We'll continue to keep you updated on her recovery as she heals. 8/1/26 Update The first few days after surgery were incredibly difficult, but we're happy to share that Piper is beginning to walk again with the help of her dedicated caregiver. Using a support sling to help take some of the weight off her healing leg, Piper is slowly taking those important first steps toward recovery. Every step is gentle, carefully supervised, and taken at her own pace, but seeing her up and moving is a huge milestone. We also want to shine a light on the incredible person caring for Piper through this journey. Her caregiver has completely rearranged life to make sure Piper has everything she needs. She's sleeping on the floor beside Piper each night, monitoring her around the clock, helping her stand and walk, staying on top of medications, and putting everything else on hold to give Piper the best possible chance at a smooth and successful recovery. Recovering from orthopedic surgery isn't just about the procedure itself. It takes patience, constant care, and an incredible amount of love. Thankfully, Piper has all three. While she's making wonderful progress, her journey is far from over. She still has weeks of rehabilitation ahead of her before she'll be ready for the second surgery on her other knee. Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared Piper's story, and cheered her on. Your generosity is making this recovery possible and helping ensure she receives the specialized care she needs every step of the way. If you'd still like to help, donations are greatly appreciated as Piper continues her long road toward a pain free, active life. From all of us, and especially from Piper, thank you for believing in her.

Your Donation Can Restore Carson's Vision

Houston, TX • Joyrides Rescue

Carson’s story is one of resilience, hope, and a second chance. He was found alone on the streets outside Houston, Texas, in absolutely heartbreaking condition. Emaciated, neglected, and struggling to survive, Carson had clearly endured far more than any dog ever should. To make matters even more difficult, Carson is completely blind due to severe cataracts, forcing him to navigate the world in darkness. Despite everything he has been through, Carson remains one of the sweetest, happiest dogs imaginable. Named after Mr. Carson from \_Downton Abbey\_, he greets everyone he meets with kindness, trust, and affection. He is incredibly cuddly, gentle, and smart, with a spirit that has never been broken. Even without his sight, he carefully finds his way around, seeks out affection, and approaches each day with a wagging tail and an inspiring determination to enjoy life. Thankfully, Joyrides Rescue stepped in to save Carson’s life and provide him with the care he desperately needed. The good news is that Carson is an excellent candidate for cataract surgery, a procedure that could restore his vision and completely transform his quality of life. For the first time in years, he could see the faces of the people who have fought for him, explore the world with confidence, and experience the world that has been hidden from him for so long. Carson has already overcome so much, but he still needs help getting to the finish line. Donations will directly support his medical care and sight restoring surgery, giving this deserving dog the chance to see again and enjoy the bright future he deserves. Every contribution brings Carson one step closer to opening his eyes to a whole new world.

Taffy

Taffy is a 10 year old Greyhound in Geneva, OH, who needs $1,388 for Diagnostics and Treatment for Mass in Throat and Dental Surgery

Geneva, OH • NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue

Sweet as the candy, Taffy lives with her brother, Blind Truman and her sister Tootie (both have or had Waggle campaigns) at the Sanctuary at NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue. This trio of littermates are know as The Triplets. A few days ago, we felt a concerning lump/mass in Taffy's throat. Our vet examined her, ran lab tests and took a sample for a cytology. While there is no signs of cancer or infection, we need to monitor the mass closely and if it doesn't resolve on its own, we need to move to plan B which will involve medications and/or surgery. Taffy inherited the "bad teeth" gene, like her brother Truman. Her dental disease started causing her problems that no amount of daily brushing, scaling or additives could fix. We recently had to extract her remaining teeth to prevent infection, pain, sickness and premature death. We now need to raise funds to cover those vet bills. Taffy is the most outgoing of the Triplets and is the strong one that holds the group together. She's also the overseer of the other hounds and always has her nose in everyone else's business. When NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue saw immediately how sister Tootie depended on Taffy for her support and comfort and they knew they could never separate them. Now, brother Blind Truman also leans on Taffy and together they share their caretaker's bed. Advanced age has brought Taffy some other medical issues, including an enlarged heart and pannus in both eyes. Thankfully, medications and supplements are keeping these in check. As a registered nonprofit animal rescue, NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue relies on donations to pay for the medical care of the senior animals in their program. They have raised funds to cover Taffy's pre-surgical lab tests. Now they need funds to pay for her surgery bill. Can you help Taffy to live the rest of her life free of dental pain?

Donnie Is Fighting to Survive After a Horrific Injury

WHITESTONE, NY • NYC Second Chance Rescue

Donnie has already endured more suffering than any dog should ever have to face. When he arrived at the shelter, rescuers were shocked by the severity of his injuries. Donnie was found with a devastating wound to his genital area. His penis was severely swollen, deeply lacerated, and showing signs of tissue death. Veterinarians believe the injury may have been caused by something being tightly wrapped around the area, cutting off circulation and causing extensive damage. The pain Donnie must have experienced is unimaginable. While the exact circumstances remain unknown, what is certain is that Donnie is now in urgent need of lifesaving medical care. Veterinary specialists have determined that Donnie will likely require an emergency perineal urethrostomy (PU) surgery to survive. During this complex procedure, surgeons will remove the necrotic tissue and create a new pathway that will allow him to urinate normally. Without immediate treatment, Donnie faces the risk of severe infection, ongoing pain, and potentially life-threatening complications. Despite everything he has endured, Donnie is still fighting. NYC Second Chance Rescue has rushed him to an emergency hospital where he is receiving critical care and being evaluated for surgery. His medical team is doing everything possible to relieve his suffering and give him the chance at the healthy future he deserves. The cost of emergency hospitalization, surgery, medications, diagnostics, and post-operative care is significant, but turning away is not an option. Donnie deserves the opportunity to heal and to experience the kindness and compassion that every animal should know. Your donation will help provide the lifesaving treatment Donnie urgently needs. Every contribution, no matter the amount, brings him one step closer to recovery. Please donate today and help NYC Second Chance Rescue give Donnie the second chance he so desperately deserves.

Haavi

Haavi is an 8 year old Bouvier from Flandrews in Wildood, MO, who needs emergency treatment following a violent predator attack

Wildwood, MO

Haavi is a 150 lb Bouvier des Flandres who is the heart of our home. We named him after Havasu Falls in the Grand Canyon because of its breathtaking beauty and power. He has been my constant companion through my transition into college. He is a 'gentle giant' whose name reflects the incredible strength and spirit he’s showing right now as he fights to recover. Haavi is in a life-threatening emergency after a violent predator attack on April 26. He is currently at the University of Missouri Veterinary Health Center (Mizzou) in Columbia, MO. Specialists have confirmed a bite mark, ruling out mechanical injury. He requires daily medical sedation for intensive wound debridement and bandage changes. This is an emergency situation requiring specialized care. Haavi is truly my brother; my mom treats him like one of her own kids, and he is a huge part of my life. He is a total cuddle bug who loves to climb into bed and snuggle close with me. When he isn't napping, he lives for running and playing in the yard. He communicates with rumbly huffs and loves the garden hose. He fought so hard to crawl back home to us because he belongs here, with his family. As a student, this is impossible alone. We’re on the news & GoFundMe, but need help for his daily sedation. Having my 'brother' home and back in my bed to cuddle would mean everything. He fought for us; we are fighting for him.

Ferguson

A Second Chance for Ferguson’s Broken Leg- Help Him Heal

Coweta, OK • Compassionate Animal Rescue Efforts

Ferguson’s story began on Christmas Eve, when he was rescued by Compassionate Animal Rescue Efforts from a rural area in Oklahoma after being abandoned. Despite everything he’s been through, Ferguson is incredibly loving, well-mannered in the home, and gets along beautifully with other dogs and cats. He has so much joy to give—and he deserves a life where he can fully enjoy it. Sadly, Ferguson is living with the effects of an old injury that was never treated. At some point, his front left leg was broken and left to heal improperly. Now, the lower portion of his leg points outward, causing him ongoing pain. He currently relies on daily medication to stay comfortable, but it’s not enough to give him the active, happy life he should have. Ferguson is still young and eager to run, play, and go on walks—but right now, every step is a struggle. The surgery he needs, called a wedge resection, will correct the alignment of his leg. This procedure involves removing a small wedge of bone, realigning the leg into a more natural position, and stabilizing it with a bone plate as it heals. While this won’t reverse existing arthritis in his wrist, it will significantly improve his comfort and mobility, allowing him to move through life with far less pain. It will also allow him to put weight equally on both of his shoulders, helping his overall frame to be more stable and less wear on his left side. The estimated cost for Ferguson’s care includes: \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\- $2,500–$3,000 for surgery - $1,000 for a CT scan - Additional funds for medications, bandage changes, and post-operative care We are hoping to raise $5,000 to ensure Ferguson gets everything he needs for a successful recovery. Ferguson has already shown how resilient and loving he is. Now, he just needs a chance to heal. Your support can help give him that chance—to run, to play, and to finally live the pain-free life he deserves. 4/13/26 Update: Ferguson needs leg surgery Ferguson has finally settled into his foster home after 3 and a half months, and it's like he has always been there! He lives with his foster mom, two cats and three dogs but he’s always the first to alert his foster mom when someone is outside. Ferguson is still learning to trust new people. He’s especially cautious around men, which suggests he may not have been treated kindly in the past. With patience and of course, plenty of Pup-Peroni treats, he is making progress. When his foster mom’s parents visited, it took time, treats, and a few soft head rubs, but he eventually warmed up to both of them. Moments like these show just how much he wants to trust again. Like all C.A.R.E. dogs, he was vaccinated and heartworm tested within a few days after his rescue and has been on Sentinel Trio ever since. He also takes Rimdyl and canine beef bone broth powder for arthritis, Apoquel for pollen allergies, and Native Pet skin supplement and salmon dog food for sensitive skin. Since his arrival he has learned to like beef and salmon treats, although peanut butter flavor is still not to his liking. His white coat doesn’t stay white for long as he loves to roll around in the grass on his back! Luckily, he’s willing to take a bath even if he doesn’t enjoy it. He goes into a crate for dinner and to take his time enjoying dog bones, but if his foster sister Cocoa finishes hers first he always lets her steal his too! He has been a true delight to his foster mom and is expected to be the perfect recovery patient after surgery. To help control his urge to run after surgery, a martingale collar has been added to our wish list along with bones to keep him occupied during the many weeks he will be crate bound (His crate is an extra large 48 inch crate with a stainless steel water pail inside) as well as a bed to keep him comfortable. If Ferguson could talk he would tell you he is very grateful for your donations. It is very obvious that he has been so grateful to have a nice, safe home with a loving foster mom, food every day, yummy treats, and nice foster siblings to play with! 4/26/26 Update: Ferguson Needs Leg Surgery We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated toward Ferguson’s surgery. Your support truly means everything. Because the vet requires full payment immediately after the procedure, Ferguson is patiently waiting as we work together to reach the remaining goal. In the meantime, he has been making the most of the warm weather, spending his days stretched out on the back porch, soaking up the sun and watching the world go by. In the evenings, he has started climbing onto the bed for plenty of head and chest rubs before settling into his chair for the night. If you stop petting him too soon, he gently places his paw on your arm as if to say, “More, please.” Around the house, Ferguson likes to stay close without being in the way. He rests on his dog bed or lies just behind his foster mom’s chair so he can keep an eye on everything. As he prepares for surgery, he has also begun spending time in his crate, which is always left open. It has become his safe space, something he may not have ever truly had before. His foster mom has loved watching him grow more comfortable and at home with each passing day. It is heartbreaking to think that such a gentle, well mannered dog was left without care after his leg was broken and later abandoned. Despite everything, his sweet nature shines through. He can still be a bit cautious around men, possibly connected to his past injury. We may never know. What matters most is that Ferguson is now safe and he knows it. Thank you for helping us give him the second chance he deserves. 6/4/26 Update Ferguson continues to make incredible progress in his foster home, and for the first time in a long time, he truly feels like he belongs. After months of settling in and learning that he is safe, Ferguson recently reached a major milestone. One morning, his foster mom woke up to find him sleeping peacefully next to her pillow, curled up in bed alongside her personal dogs. At 80 pounds, Ferguson somehow managed to climb into bed without waking anyone. His foster mom only discovered him there when she opened her eyes and found him happily snoozing beside her. While he had occasionally laid on the bed for short periods before, he would always get down whenever the other dogs moved around. This time was different. Ferguson decided he was finally home. Unfortunately, while Ferguson's heart is healing, his leg still needs help. His surgery has not yet been scheduled because we are still working to raise the funds needed to move forward. Every day, Ferguson continues to live with the effects of the old injury that was never properly treated. Although medication helps manage his discomfort, surgery remains the best option to improve his mobility, reduce his pain, and give him the active life he deserves. We are so grateful for everyone who has donated so far. Your support has brought Ferguson one step closer to the care he needs. However, we have not yet reached our goal, and we still need help to ensure his surgery can be scheduled. Please consider making a donation and sharing Ferguson's story. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings him closer to a future where he can run, play, and enjoy life without pain. 6/30/26 Update: Total of 5K needed before Vet will perform surgery Every day, Ferguson lives with pain as he waits for the surgery that could change his life. The orthopedic surgeon at Catoosa Small Animal Hospital believes surgery is the best option for Ferguson, but it cannot be scheduled until the full cost has been raised. Unfortunately, the hospital cannot wait months for payment. As a small rescue, we stretch every dollar to care for the animals already in our program. Donations we receive help cover essential expenses like vaccinations, heartworm prevention, food, and routine veterinary care for our many foster dogs. A $5,000 surgery for one dog would consume a large portion of our annual budget. Oklahoma continues to face an overwhelming homeless pet crisis, with shelters and rescues operating at or beyond capacity. We never want financial limitations to determine whether a dog receives the care they need, but we simply cannot afford this surgery on our own. In the ten years our rescue has been helping animals, we've never had to ask for assistance through Waggle. We've also never had a dog whose medical needs required such an expensive procedure. Today, we're asking for help because Ferguson deserves the chance to live without constant pain. When Ferguson was a puppy, his injured leg was never properly treated. Now, at 80 pounds, his damaged front leg can no longer support his weight. According to his veterinarian, amputation is not the best option because front legs bear most of a dog's weight, especially in a dog his size. For now, Ferguson relies on daily pain medication just to stay comfortable. Despite everything, he remains an incredibly sweet, gentle, and easygoing dog. He would love nothing more than to enjoy long walks and simply be a dog, but the pain makes that impossible. This surgery would give him that opportunity. Please consider helping Ferguson receive the care he so desperately needs. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings him one step closer to a life without pain. If you're unable to donate, sharing his story can make a meaningful difference. Thank you for taking the time to

After 12 Years on the Streets, Chimbo Deserves Comfort

Fort Collins,, CO • Amici Cannis

Meet Chimbo, a gentle senior about 12 years old who has long been known as the mellow “grandpa” of his neighborhood. He’s wandered the streets for years, quietly winning hearts wherever he goes. Everyone knows him. Everyone likes him. But despite all that kindness, Chimbo has never had a family to call his own. Now, after a lifetime of surviving on his own, his body is asking for help. Chimbo is suffering from severe, chronic ulcerative skin lesions and painful ear infections that have already caused hematomas and ongoing discomfort. His skin is sensitive, he tires easily, and he needs consistent care — something street life simply can’t provide. The team at Amici Cannis stepped in to give this sweet soul a chance. There’s even someone interested in adopting him — which is wonderful news — but they don’t have the financial means to cover the diagnostics and treatment he urgently needs. To truly help Chimbo, veterinarians must perform important diagnostics, including biopsies and cultures, to determine the underlying cause of his chronic skin disease. They also need to rule out possible hormonal imbalances that could be contributing to his condition. These tests are critical — once the cause is identified, his care team can create a targeted treatment plan to relieve his pain and dramatically improve his quality of life. In addition to the initial testing, Chimbo will likely need ongoing care, including medicated baths, daily treatments, and potential monthly follow-ups. With proper medical support, he could finally leave the streets behind and settle into the loving home that’s already waiting for him. Despite everything he’s endured, Chimbo remains a total sweetheart. He greets the world with quiet kindness, asking for little more than comfort, relief, and a soft bed to rest his tired bones. 💛 Your donation will help fund the diagnostics needed to understand Chimbo’s condition 🐾 Your support will help start his treatment and give him lasting relief 🏡 Your generosity could be the final step toward getting him off the streets for good After 12 years of wandering, Chimbo deserves more than survival — he deserves comfort, care, and a family to love him. Every dollar brings this gentle grandpa closer to the peaceful, happy life he’s waited so long to find. 4/28/26 Update We are overjoyed to share that Chimbo’s story has turned into exactly the kind of ending every senior street dog deserves. This sweet old gentleman could not be happier — his skin is healing beautifully, his discomfort is improving, and most importantly, he is no longer facing life alone on the streets. Chimbo has officially found his forever home in the hearts and home of Amici Cannis founders, Drs. Heather and Phillip Steyn. After spending years wandering as the beloved “grandpa” of the neighborhood, Chimbo is now living the good life surrounded by warmth, safety, and companionship. He spends his days alongside the family’s other dogs and enjoys something he likely never had before: a soft, comfortable bed to call his own. And for an extra dose of sweetness, Chimbo has formed an especially adorable bond with his new best friend, Meneer, who has graciously decided to share his favorite bed. Meneer even patiently allows sleepy Chimbo to step all over him while getting settled — proof that true friendship comes in the fluffiest forms. From lonely streets to soft beds, loving hands, and lifelong companionship… this is the happy ending your generosity helped make possible. Chimbo does still require medicated baths and ongoing medication to keep his chronic skin condition under control, so he visits the hospital regularly for continued care. The good news is that he has quickly become a favorite among the veterinary team — though anyone who has met Chimbo knows he has always had a way of winning hearts. Because of your donations, Chimbo was given more than medical treatment. He was given relief. He was given security. He was given a family. Thank you for helping this gentle senior finally experience the comfort, love, and peace he waited so many years to find.

Found As a Stray Suffering & Hurting, Help Buttercup Bloom

Geneva, OH • NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue

When Buttercup was picked up as a stray by a local shelter, she could barely open her left eye. The shelter started to treat her, but when no one claimed her, we stepped in and transferred Buttercup to our Sanctuary. Her tests revealed that she not only had a painful corneal ulcer, she was also anemic and her white cell count was high and her abdomen was slightly distended. After 10 days on new medications for her corneal ulcer, antibiotics, supplements to combat her anemia and a thorough deworming, Buttercup is now improving and ready for spay and dental surgery. It's essential that we don't delay too long, in the event that she does have a uterine infection or is coming into heat. To our delight, sweet and quiet Buttercup is blooming. She loves to be held and snuggled – and we love holding and snuggling her. It’s tragically clear that, in the past, she was never shown the gentle and tender kindness she so deserved. NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue relies on donations to provide the best medical care possible to the life long residents at it's sanctuary. Now that Buttercup is finally and forever “home” at the Sanctuary, won’t you please help her continue to bloom? 4/15/26 Update Thank you, thank you, thank you! Because of the generosity of so many donors, Buttercup had her surgery and is feeling much better now. We are forever grateful for all the kindness that was showered on Buttercup and we are honored to be part of the Waggle community. Peace, Love, Rescue!

Her Tail Never Stops Wagging — But Tootie's Teeth Can't Wait

Geneva, OH • NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue

After NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue took in her littermates, Blind Truman and Taffy, they received a call that Tootie was in need of a soft place to land. Without blinking an eye, they welcomed Tootie to the pack and the three are affectionately called "The Triplets." Bonded and sharing many of the same medical issues, they live happily at the Sanctuary and share their caretakers bed. Like her siblings, Tootie has hypertension and kidney disease, both well controlled with medications. She also inherited the genetics for tooth and gum issues, which are common in some greyhound bloodlines. No amount of brushing, scaling, liquid additives, or wipes would prevent gum disease and tooth loss and Tootie requires dental surgery to extract about half of her teeth. Tootie may be smaller in size but her effect is large. Sweet, affectionate and funny, with a “ROOOOOO” that’s the envy of littermates Truman and Taffy, this 10 year old is one happy honey who never stops wiggling and whose long tail never stops wagging. She’s also happy to lend her voice to her siblings’ for a rousing “ROOO” chorus at the drop of the proverbial hat. NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue provides sanctuary and medical care for special needs animals that are deemed unadoptable. They rely on donations to help pay their vet bills. Tootie is one of those special needs hounds that needs your support. Will you be her hero? 4/14/26 Update We are so grateful for the incredible outpouring of support for Tootie! Because of the generosity and kindness of so many donors, Tootie was able to have her dental surgery. She had quite a few extractions, but she's healed and feeling so much better. Her appetite is great and she's happy and ready to give everyone her special kisses! Harvey Deserves Better: Help This Sweet Bulldog See the World Without Pain

Lauderhill, FL • Saving Sage Animal Rescue Foundation, Inc.

Harvey is the kind of dog who makes people smile the moment they meet him. With his squishy bulldog face, gentle personality, and sweet, trusting eyes, he’s the definition of a good boy. But those same eyes are hurting. Harvey was recently surrendered to Saving Sage Animal Rescue Foundation by his owners, who told us they simply didn’t want him anymore. Just like that, Harvey lost the only home he knew. Despite the confusion and heartbreak, he has remained incredibly sweet, leaning into every gentle touch and looking to people for comfort. Now that he’s safe with us, we can see just how much he’s been suffering. Harvey has bilateral cherry eye, a painful condition where the gland in the third eyelid prolapses and becomes swollen and inflamed. Both of Harvey’s eyes are extremely red and irritated, and without surgery, the condition will continue to cause discomfort and could eventually lead to more serious eye problems. The good news is that cherry eye surgery has an excellent prognosis, and once repaired, Harvey will finally be able to live without the constant irritation and inflammation he’s experiencing now. But as a rescue, we can’t do this alone. Harvey has already been through the heartbreak of being given up by the people who were supposed to love him forever. We want to show him that the world is still full of kindness—and that he matters. Your donation will help cover Harvey’s bilateral cherry eye surgery, veterinary care, and recovery, giving him the chance to feel comfortable again and move forward toward the loving home he truly deserves. Every dollar brings Harvey one step closer to relief. Please help us give this beautiful boy the fresh start he’s been waiting for. 4/25/26 Update We have wonderful news to share — Harvey is officially scheduled for his cherry eye surgery at the end of May with the eye specialty veterinarian. This is a huge step forward for this sweet boy. Since coming into rescue, Harvey has done nothing but show us love despite all he has been through. Being surrendered by the only family he knew was heartbreaking enough, but living every day with the redness, irritation, and discomfort in both of his eyes has only added to his struggle. Soon, that relief is finally in sight. Harvey’s upcoming procedure will repair the painful prolapsed glands in both eyes and give him the chance to live without the constant inflammation that has been bothering him for so long. Once healed, he will not only feel better physically, but he’ll also be one step closer to the fresh start and forever home he deserves. We are so grateful that this surgery is now on the calendar — and it is only possible because of the kindness and support being shown to Harvey. Thank you for helping us move this deserving boy closer to comfort, healing, and a brighter future

Help Beetle, a 2 year Old Pity Mix, Heal After Being Shot with a BB Gun

Westwood, NJ • Peace4Paws, Inc.

Beetle is a sweet, affectionate 2-year-old pit bull mix whose whole world changed overnight. He was found alone in Kentucky after his owner was incarcerated, left behind with no one to care for him. When rescuers brought him to safety, they quickly realized something wasn’t right. Beetle was tender to the touch and flinched when handled in certain areas. X-rays revealed heartbreaking news: foreign objects lodged inside his body — hard, metallic fragments that can be felt beneath his skin. Veterinarians believe they may be shrapnel or buckshot. Whatever they are, they don’t belong there… and they are causing him pain. Despite everything he has endured, Beetle remains incredibly gentle and trusting. He leans into affection. He wags his tail. He looks up at people with hopeful eyes, as if he still believes the world is a good place. Now he needs us to prove him right. Beetle requires further diagnostic testing and likely surgery to safely remove the embedded fragments. Without treatment, he could face chronic pain, infection, and long-term complications. With proper medical care, however, he has every chance at a full, happy, pain-free life — the kind of life every dog deserves. We are launching this fundraiser to cover: \\\\-Advanced imaging and specialist consultations \\\\-Surgical removal of the foreign objects \\\\-Pain management and post-operative care \\\\-Rehabilitation and recovery support Every donation — no matter the amount — brings Beetle one step closer to healing. Your support will directly fund the care he urgently needs and give him the second chance he has been waiting for. Beetle has already survived more than any dog should. Now it’s our turn to show him compassion, safety, and love. Please consider donating today and sharing his story. Together, we can turn his pain into hope and his survival into a fresh start. 3/26/26 Update: Surgery Complete and Recovering Beetle has successfully undergone surgery and he is now on the road to healing. During the procedure, veterinarians discovered multiple metal fragments scattered throughout Beetle’s body. The surgical team was able to safely remove the largest fragment along with a BB pellet that had been causing him significant discomfort. Beetle now has stitches beneath his front arm and is resting comfortably as he begins recovery. While some smaller fragments remain that could not be safely removed, the most concerning sources of pain have been addressed. This surgery was an important step toward giving Beetle relief and improving his long-term comfort and quality of life. What’s Next for Beetle \\\\-Careful monitoring as his incision heals \\\\-Pain management and supportive medications \\\\-Follow-up veterinary visits to track his recovery \\\\-Plenty of rest, comfort, and gentle care as he regains strength Despite everything he has endured, Beetle continues to show his sweet and trusting nature. He is already enjoying affection and settling into recovery surrounded by people who care deeply about him. Every donation, share, and kind message made this surgery possible. Because of you, Beetle is no longer facing this journey alone. Thank you for standing with Beetle and helping give him the safe, pain-free future he deserves. We’ll continue to share updates as he heals and takes the next steps toward his new beginning. 4/6/26 Update: Beetle underwent surgery Beetle, the sweet pit bull mix who was shot by some cretan in Kentucky, had the surgery and all went well! They removed a big piece of shrapnel, and an intact bb, but had to leave smaller fragments. Nevertheless, his prognosis is good. As anticipated, the surgery cost a bundle. It would help our little rescue organization stay afloat if you could donate a few dollars. Thank you kind souls! Tracy and Peace4Paws 4/27/26 Update: Beetle's Song - from guns to roses Beetle is a sweet young Pit Bull Mix rescued from Kentucky by New Jersey based non-profit Peace4Paws. He'd been shot and had what we believed were pieces of bullets, or shrapnel, throughout his abdomen. Multiple vet visits and a surgery later, Beetle is doing great! A large piece of shrapnel and a BB were removed from his abdomen. Smaller pieces remain, but his prognosis is good. Now is all the sweet pup needs is to be adopted by a lucky forever family. THANK YOU to everyone who donated and helped to make this rosy outcome possible. 💓 Tracy and Peace4Paws website: Peace4Paws.org

Marshall

Marshall is a 9 year old Mix-Breed in Crystal, MN, who needs $1,452 for Dental Surgery.

Crystal, MN

I found Marshall through Facebook. We needed each other. I've had him for over 4 years, and he does great with my cats and rabbit. I didn't name him, but I think he was named after the Marshall from Paw Patrol, the show for kids. Marshall is so sweet to the people he meets. He will always come up for a pet, a snuggle, or just to be in our vicinity. Quality time is his love language. Marshall was attacked by two dogs several nights ago-- wasn't his fault. He was bit on the neck, got a scratch on the nose, and injured some teeth. The other dogs were completely fine. He now needs dental surgery at Mission Animal Hospital at Eden Prairie. I'm so thankful that Mission does a sliding scale since I'm low income and on disability, and I still can't even come close to affording it. Marshall is the sweetest dog you will ever meet. He's deaf and gets really anxious when I'm gone. As soon as I get home he welcomes me with a waggy tail. He never jumps up on people, he just silently bounces up and down. People remark how good and gentle he is with their kids. Marshall is a one-of-a-kind dog who loves me with his entire heart and loves anyone else I bring into his life. I have many disabilities and am on Social Security Disability. I can only work around 5 hours a week at the moment. This huge payment was totally not on my radar, and I still have to buy cat food and pay for my renters insurance.

Dumped & Abandoned: Please Help Sweet Nugget

Geneva, OH • NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue

Little Nugget was dumped, literally, in the middle of the night at a local shelter. When her stray hold was up and no one came for her, NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue took her into their sanctuary. Understandably, she's fearful of most humans, but she formed an immediate bond with her "mommy caretaker" and is happy to be held and carried around all day. Nugget came to them in heat, and she's started exhibiting some abnormalities with her estrus cycle and needs to be spayed soon to prevent any further complications. Madison Vet Hospital is treating Nugget. This little 16-pound "nugget" is finding her courage. She's quiet and sweet and gets so excited when her "mommy caretaker" walks into her room. She's yet to bark and likes to chew on nylabones. She's still learning about living in a house and going potty outside, but she'll get the hang of it eventually. As a registered nonprofit animal sanctuary and hospice, NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue relies on donations to pay for vet bills and medical care. They have been able to raise money for Nugget's lab tests, but they need help to pay for her surgery. Will you please help little Nugget and this rescue continue to help as many animals as possible? Thank you!

Fayetteville, GA

Ceasar, a 13-year-old Morkie, was a Valentine’s gift in 2011 and has been by my side ever since. He lives with me in Fayetteville, GA, and has been a loving, calming presence through major life changes, including the recent loss of my mother. Despite age and medical issues, he remains alert, affectionate, and deeply bonded to me. Ceasar is a 13-year-old Morkie recently diagnosed with severe eye disease. Both eyes have ruptured, causing him constant pain. Due to his age and diabetes, treatment hasn’t worked. His vet recommends surgical removal of both eyes (enucleation) as the only option to relieve his suffering. His prognosis is good with surgery. Ceasar is incredibly special—he’s full of personality, love, and loyalty. Despite his small size, he has a big presence in our home. He’s gentle, affectionate, and always wants to be near me. He comforts everyone around him with his calm energy, and his playful, sweet spirit brings joy to our entire family. He's more than a pet—he's family. I’ve been facing financial hardship since being laid off earlier this year and recently losing my mother, which has made it difficult to manage unexpected expenses like Ceasar’s surgery. He’s been my constant source of comfort through everything. Having him healthy and pain-

Snowball & Boomer

Will You Be Snowball & Boomer's Hero?

Geneva, OH • NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue

Born as part of a litter to a mother who had been abused and dumped in the mountains, Snowball is safe in NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue's care. She seems happily oblivious to the fact that she’s deaf. As she grew, they realized that she was 6-8 months behind in meeting her developmental milestones, along with having chronic urinary tract and kidney issues her entire life that are now managed with medications. Now approaching her senior years, Snowball has developed a chronic allergy in her left ear that has not been responsive to the normal medications. This will require further tests and treatments to subdue the allergy and provide relief from the itching and irritation. Sprouting her full fuzzy Podenco coat and mane, typical of the Podenco Campanero breed, Snowball has learned to navigate her soundless world and understands hand signs from her caretakers. She's extremely affectionate at the Sanctuary but very shy in public. She loves to sleep next to her caretaker and soak up all the love that surrounds her. Boomer is a senior whippet mix who suddenly developed a growth on his face. They needed to do a needle aspiration to determine if the growth was malignant or benign. He is friends with all the other hounds and has been at the sanctuary for a few years now. NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue relies heavily on donations from generous animal lovers like you to help them pay for the vet bills of the animals in their care. Snowball had a rough start and Boomer is not doing well going into his senior years, but this rescue is doing everything they can to ensure a great life for both of them. Can you help them on their healing journey? Every donation makes a difference. Thank you.

Help Annie Heal Her Mental and Physical Wounds

Fuquay Varina, NC • US Dog Coalition and Rescue

Annie was found as a stray wandering with her nine puppies. They were all taken to a nearby shelter. Her puppies were quickly rescued or adopted, as cute puppies are, but Annie, on the other hand, was left behind. Thankfully, US Dog Coalition and Rescue stepped in to help. Annie's poor five-year-old body is riddled with trauma, both mentally and physically. She was so shut down by the time she arrived, that she needed to be carried into her foster home. She was set up in a quiet room with windows all to herself, but remained motionless, only moving when she was flinching at movements or noise. She only snuck food or bathroom breaks when nobody was watching her. At her vet appointment to evaluate her physical health, she sadly tested positive for heartworms. She also has a residual wound that she came to the shelter with. It is assumed that it is a bite mark of some kind. Likely one she received defending her 9 puppies as a stray. US Dog Coalition is determined to teach Annie that she deserves a good life, a life she should have had from day one. Thankfully, the good life has started, filled with safety, love, and kindness, but she is having trouble embracing it due to her past traumas. Please consider donating today to help Annie heal.

Rutherford, NJ

This is my Milo - we call him Memes, he's 7yo. He's been with us since he's 6wks old, and is the youngest funniest, sweetest fur baby of the house (and the biggest). He has an older fur-brother Cooper (9yo), fur-sister Chase (12yo cat). My furbabies mean the world to me & are FAMILY to me. Morning of 11/4, Milo woke up howling in pain, couldn't move & was rushed to emerg vet; pain meds, xrays & hrs later, it was thought to be IVDD; neurologist+MRI was required to confirm. I found ASC hospital in Yonkers, NY & neuro surgeon Dr G who shared news that Milo has an A-typical (abnormal cyst) wrapped around his spinal cord, causing him excruciating pain w/any type of movements. Milo is the sweetest boy, LOVE treats, talks when excited, my protector, always wants to be center of attention & is quite funny. He has been my shadow since he came home w/us 7yrs ago, has seen me through several surgeries, checks on me often, loves to walk, go to parks, swim in doggie pools, go to Target & is the biggest cuddle bug. He is my 3yo toddler boy I never had. Milo is now constantly riddled in horrendous pain. I sit on the floor w/him & cry most days. He has to now be carried most times & only resolve is major spinal surgery - upwards of 10k. It's just ME & I've already spent thousands of dollars, depleting 98% of my savings.

Malina is an 8-year-old furry fighter who has been with me through thick and thin. Recently, she suffered a suspected stroke, leaving her unable to walk. Malina’s life began as a miracle, she was a one-week-old rescue. Malina blossomed into a gentle loving curious kitten. When I first met Malina at one month old, she kissed my hand, and my heart was hers forever. In 2019, Malina had a sudden paralysis in her back legs. Extensive testing at AMC in NYC ruled out major issues. Her heart and spine were clear. She recovered. In November 2024, she was hospitalized in ICU at AMC. The stroke, UTI were confirmed. She is now recovering. Doctors have given a hopeful prognosis, but recovery is long and costly. She must have specialist care and diagnostics to fully recover and prevent future strokes. I incurred $9,693 in expenses and $2000-$2400 expected for specialist care in cardiology (echocardiogram $918, exam $375, blood test $350, neurology $375, urine test $400). Insurance provider Trupanion denied all claims, labeling her condition as pre-existing. I am currently unemployed after a layoff. I am looking, but this has been tough. Malina is my family, my baby, my heart. I’m doing everything I can to help her, but I can’t do it alone.

Geneva, OH • NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue

Grandpa was found as a stray hanging around a schoolyard, but he was most likely dumped by his former owner. When the shelter learned that he was positive for heartworms, had a chronic eye condition, rotting teeth, and a host of other problems, they contacted us. He found a ride all the way to our sanctuary and he's been receiving medical treatment and loads of love since his arrival. After finally testing negative 8 months after his last adulticide injection for heartworm, gaining weight and improving his overall condition, Grandpa is now strong enough for surgery to extract his rotting teeth, repair an oral-nasal fistula and to be neutered. Madison Vet Hospital has been instrumental in providing medical care for Grandpa and will preform the surgery. Despite the fact that he's significantly larger than most Coonhounds, Grandpa loves leaning on us and being petted as much as he loves hanging out with his hound friends. He emits a deep, low “roooo” whenever he needs something. He revels in the warmth his blankets provide his frail, aged body. He's in good spirits now and you'd never guess that his body is filled with buckshot. As a registered, nonprofit animal rescue, we specialize in providing lifetime care to senior and medical needs animals and we rely on donations to raise funds to pay for vet bills. Grandpa's path to better health is paramount. Can you be a part of his journey?

Diamond is a 14 year old Beagle in Geneva, OH, who needs $192 for Ultrasound to Diagnose Abdominal Enlargement.

Geneva, OH • NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue

Subsisting for years outdoors in a dilapidated chicken coop, a rope around her neck, Diamond suffered needlessly. How she survived without access to food and water is a mystery. Neighbors called AC repeatedly to report the ghastly situation, but when officers arrived, the owner came outside with his rifle. Occasionally, one of those neighbors threw a jar of peanut butter over the property line. Diamond has a grade 4 heart murmur with an enlarged heart that is responding to medication. At her recent trip to Madison Vet Hospital, a suspicious enlargement near her liver and spleen was found and an ultrasound is needed to determine if this enlargement is due to her heart issues, or a mass or tumor that may be malignant. Safe now at the Sanctuary, Diamond luxuriates in the comfort of the first bed she's ever had and enjoys peaceful sleep. She is quiet and sweet and so well-behaved that it's hard to imagine what her past was like. Understandably. he can be a bit of a drama queen when it's time for ear cleanings and nail clippings, but some tasty treats will settle her down. As a registered nonprofit rescue, we rely on donations to pay for vet bill for the special needs animals in our care. We have already raised some funds for Diamond's lab tests but need to raise funds for her ultrasound. Can you help us help Diamond?

Dallas, TX • Pooch Savers Rescue

Pooch Savers Rescue Meet Monty, a little puppy who has already faced more hardships than most dogs will ever know. He was kept in abominable conditions before being dumped. We know this because the deformity on one paw is consistent with how paws grow when dogs are kept in crates way too small for extended periods of time. The other leg deformity is most likely a birth defect. He was found roaming, scared and alone on the streets after being dumped in Texas. He was covered in fleas, severely matted, and underweight - so much so that his bones are showing. He was dehydrated and anemic. Unfortunately, Monty needs to have one of his front legs amputated. Ever since he entered his foster home, he has been like a shadow. He is so submissive, as soon as you reach down to touch him, he cowers and rolls over, knowing he can't defend himself. He's likely used to showing submission in order to not get punished or abused. He tinkles a little bit too, likely out of fear - touch and interaction with humans has obviously taught him we are not safe, but even with this, he is the sweetest, most loving dog. He looks into your soul with the kindest, soul-piercing eyes, eyes that say thank you! Monty, like all dogs, deserves a chance at health and happiness. It was in Jerry’s best interest to be surrendered over, and thanks to you guys, we’ll make sure he gets everything he needs from here on out. While there was no evidence of any other injuries, they discovered he has severe dental disease and need several teeth pulled in the near future. Chief is a rescue dog who came into my life when I was living my first real heartbreak. He was only 4 months old but already too big for a puppy cage at Nashville Humane. When I saw him, I knew he was my pup. He's been with me for almost 10 years, and is the greatest dog ever. He takes such good care of our family, which includes me and his cat brother, Bean. Chief is a gentle giant. He's a big mutt, but is the sweetest animal who loves to be around people. He also LOVES ball. Nothing makes him happier than fetch or a good bone. Chief is a goofball, loves to play fetch, and loves to nap. He also likes to play with his brother, Bean, but I don't know he'd ever admit it. He loves a good bone and staring out the window, watching the birds. But mostly, Chief is the one who helped me heal. Now I want to repay the favor. Chief started getting crust and discharge around his eye, and I discovered a mass under his eyelid. His vet said as long as it didn't grow and didn't bother him, all would be ok. However, recently it has been growing quickly. We were referred to a veterinary ophthalmologist who recommends surgical removal and sending the mass to a pathologist. She also believes Chief has Horner's Syndrome. The estimate for Chief's removal surgery is $2,000-$2,225 depending on how long he needs to be under anesthesia. Additionally, the ophthalmologist has said due to his Horner's Syndrome, he needs additional examination to identify the underlying issue.

She has been spayed, groomed to fix her coat, treated for her skin and eye infections, and got a teeth cleaning and extraction. Please help Pooch Savers Rescue care for sweet senior Noodles. We are rallying together to ensure she gets the care and support needed for a brighter, healthy, pain-free future.

Buddy is a 12-year-old Yellow Labrador in Hawthorne, NJ, who needs $2,000 for urgent care.

Hawthorne, NJ • A Pathway to Hope

Buddy is a 12-year-old senior dog, rescued as part of a cruelty case. Buddy was dropped at animal control by a man who claimed to have found him, but was actually his owner, later charged with neglect. Buddy is currently in a foster home and finally getting the care he so deserves. Despite the pain he has endured, Buddy remains sweet and loving – docile with people, dogs and cats – just looking for a place to feel safe. Buddy should be living his senior years spoiled and surrounded with love, not neglected and in pain. Buddy is the sweetest boy who just wants a safe place and love. He lived so long in pain and through neglect that he is just happy to now be comfortable and loved. Buddy presented with skin lesions, ear infections, grossly overgrown nails, Lymes disease, anal gland infection and a swollen back left foot. His injured rear paw was horribly painful, requiring, as his bone was sticking out. Two lumps were found on Buddy and biopsied. He has mast cell cancer, so the tumors will be removed this week, and surgery should be curative for our sweet boy! Following a lifetime of neglect, Buddy finally has a second chance at his best life. Despite the pain he has endured, Buddy remains docile and loving – just looking for a place to feel safe, someone to care for him. Please help us change Buddy's world!

Charlie Brown is a 3-year-old Mix in Hawthorne, NJ, who needs $2,000 for Hit by a Car and Abandoned with a Pelvis Fracture and Wounds.

Hawthorne, NJ • A Pathway to Hope

His name was “Dog” – hit by a car and abandoned at the vet’s office, he needed a guardian angel. Never having a name, never having a home, and never having visited a vet, “Dog” spent his life as an outdoor dog. As was inevitable, given his neglect over the 1.5 years of his life, he was hit by a car. His pelvis was fractured, involving the hip, he had a gaping, bleeding wound and neurological damage is suspected. He was finally given the dignity of medical care when his “owner” took him to a hospital, his leg wrapped up in a makeshift cast to cover the huge gash from impact. They opted for euthanasia. Luckily, his guardian angel, Ben, intervened. The kind staff at the hospital saw how incredibly sweet this boy was and sought out rescue. They knew he deserved better. A rescuer had seen Ben’s story and the wonderful care he got, despite all odds stacked against him, and she reached out for help. “Dog” quickly became Charlie Brown, and we promised him a chance at life, in honor of Ben. Charlie Brown rapidly declined while kenneled and waiting for rescue – his mobility decreased, pain increased, and he is showing signs of neurological damage in his back end. As soon as we heard his story, we knew we needed to act. He is being driven from VA to NJ, where A Pathway to Hope has joined with the Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge, to provide Charlie Brown with emergency medical care. Charlie Brown will immediately be admitted to the hospital. He has a long journey to recovery. From a life of loneliness outdoors, to being welcomed into a family of rescuers, volunteers, supporters, and love, Charlie Brown new life starts today – with you by his side!

Petey

Petey is a 12-year-old Beagle in Geneva, OH, who needs $600 for Complete Dental and Extractions of Rotting Teeth.

Geneva, OH • NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue

Petey was a stray and when no one came for him, he was in grave danger of being euthanized at a small, overcrowded, underfunded shelter, trying to do its best with limited space and resources. Petey is now safe and has a permanent place to live out his remaining years, surrounded by love, thanks to a wonderful group of people that rescued him and drove him to The Sanctuary. Petey, despite his pain, has a zest for life, loves humans and canines alike, and has quickly settled into his new life after an initial bout of anxiety. With so many changes, this old man has shown how resilient he can be, once he knows he's safe. He's been a very good patient through all the heartworm treatments and takes his medications like a champ. Petey's tail never stops waging, even when he's being examined by the vet! Even though his spine, knees, hips and his left rear leg are splayed outward, causing him to walk with a limp and a swagger, he's able to run around in the treatment room at the vet hospital and visit with all the other vets and techs, getting as many treats as he can! He's affectionately called Pistol Petey. Petey has finally recovered from heartworm disease after many months of treatments, but his rotting teeth now must be extracted and he must be neutered. Dr. Tom Zulandt, owner of Madison Vet Hospital has been treating him. As a registered animal rescue specializing in the long-term care of animals with medical needs, we rely on donations to pay for vet care. We've already raised funds for Petey's heartworm treatments. LITTLE ROSIE is a 8-year-old Chihuahua in Branford, CT, who needs $1685 for Mammary Tumor Removals, Biopsies, Bloodwork, Dental.

Branford, CT • Murphy's Paw Rescue Inc.

LITTLE ROSIE isn't complaining. She is totally enjoying her pampered life in her foster home. But she has had some tough obstacles pop up in her life, and we are committed to making sure she gets everything she needs from here on out. LITTLE ROSIE is about 8 years old and is a little peanut at only 4.5 lbs.! We took her into the rescue not knowing too much about her history other than that she was pulled from a shelter right before being euthanized, and ended up living with a sweet 90 year old woman for a very short time who unfortunately could not care for her. LITTLE ROSIE has the sweetest personality and is a joy to have in foster care. She is a total snuggle bug and likes other dogs and every person she meets. She will make the ultimate companion for anyone looking for a low-key, sweet, lap dog. Upon taking her into rescue, we knew right away she was going to need a dental. But in addition to that, we found three little lumps. After the vet consultation, it was determined that she has mammary tumors that need to be removed immediately. The surgery will include complete removal of the tumors as well as biopsies. Her surgery date is set for November 9th at Clinton Vet Hospital. LITTLE ROSIE'S procedures are estimated at $1,380-$1,970. This is a huge and unexpected expense for a small rescue group like ours. We need your help in order to keep our doors open for dogs like ROSIE and so many other dogs in need.

Penny is a 7-year-old Hound in Geneva, OH, who needs $382 for Spay Surgery and Complete Dental.

Geneva, OH • NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue

Penny’s past was filled with unimaginable horror. Her front elbow and leg were badly broken, but never tended to. She now has a permanent limp and degenerative arthritis. Thankfully, Penny managed to escape her tormentors by limping across a field toward safety. After being found and testing positive for heartworm, she was transferred to our Sanctuary. Despite the abuse she suffered, Penny is sweet and kind and forgiving. She gets along well with all the other hounds at the Sanctuary, loves to sunbathe when the weather permits, likes to chew on toy bones and has become quite attached to her caretakers. Penny's soulful eyes, however, still hint at her former abuse at times and we know that she's a deep, complicated soul. If ever there was a hound that had all the cards stacked against her, it's Penny. She never gets a fair shake medically and everything that can happen seems to happen to Penny. Her heartworms were resistant to drugs and Penny spent the year going through 2 complete rounds of treatments and injections. She's allergic to every animal protein and needs to eat a very specially formulated food. Penny also suffers from false pregnancy symptoms and painful heat cycles and now that she's finally cleared for surgery, we need to spay her and give her a complete dental. Because she also has stage 1 kidney disease, keeping her teeth clean is very important. Dr. Tom Zulandt, owner of Madison Vet Hospital has been treating Penny since her arrival over a year ago. While we've raised the funds for her prior heartworm treatments and other medical needs, we need to ask for help with Penny's spay surgery and dental. As a registered non-profit rescue, we rely on donations to pay for vet care. Please give Penny the future she deserves!

Kimani is a 22-month-old Siberian Husky in Poland, ME, who needs $2,000 for Heartworm Treatment.

Poland, ME

I found Kimani and her 7 month old son Kodiak in my yard one morning in the middle of August. I did everything to find their owner. After 5 days I found out the dogs were let go on the owner's way back to his out of state home!! I promised the dogs they would never be abandoned again!! I spoke with the owner and he signed the dogs over to me. Because Kimani (and Kodiak) had yet to see a vet I haven't introduced them up close to my current dogs. Kimani enjoys running and playing in my fenced in backyard. She thrives on attention. She is learning how to sit and wait to be fed. She's doing much better on leash. She has finally got some leadership and guidance in her life. Kimani's favorite thing is to wrestle and play with her son. She loves playing ball - still learning to bring it back. She loves to play on and under her trampoline. Kimani, enjoys laying on her 5ft high doggy deck. She watches over the other critters on my property. She loves to be petted and told she's the best dog ever! Because Kimani and Kodiak hadn't been to the vet. That was my first thing the day I officially became theirs. Being on the run, having to eat and drink whatever was available caused a parasite infection. This was treated, then came initial vaccines, Heartworm, tick testing. Kodiak is currently being treated for Lyme and anaplasmosis but unfortunately, Kimani tested positive for heartworm!! Last month one of my dogs had surgery. 3 days ago another major dental surgery. Kodiak has been to the ER, both huskies have had vaccines and exams. My funds have been exhausted getting vet care for my current dogs and these 2. I promised Kimani I would take care of her.

Geneva, OH • NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue

Abandoned by her owner, Stormy was left to wander aimlessly. Finally, someone called the shelter, and Stormy was brought in as a stray. Based on Stormy's huge, distended abdomen, everyone thought she was pregnant. Stormy was claimed by another rescue, but after an X-ray revealed that she was not pregnant, the rescue abandoned her at the vet hospital. That’s when we sprang into action to save her. While we don't know the details of Stormy's past, we do see the telltale signs of abuse. Her tail is raw and often bleeds, which is common in dogs that are kept in very small cages. Stormy's coat is extremely dry and full of stains, particularly around her neck, indicating a collar that was fastened too tightly. She was absolutely covered in fleas and ticks, and she was an itchy, miserable mess. Despite all that Stormy has endured, she is the sweetest beagle who is determined not to let her serious health issues get her down. With a hearty appetite, Stormy lets us know when she's hungry and when she has to go outside. She's mellow and friendly with all the other dogs here and loves to snuggle with her caretakers, too. Stormy has the most endearing facial expressions and makes us smile. Stormy's liver and spleen are both extremely enlarged, and the right side of her heart is also displaying some abnormalities. In addition, Stormy is dealing with a heart murmur and her teeth are rotting away inside her mouth. She still needs to undergo additional radiographs, an ultrasound and lab tests to determine whether she is suffering from cancer, heart or liver disease, or Cushing's. We are a non-profit animal sanctuary that provides high quality, lifetime care for severely ill animals, like Stormy, that have no other options. Sandy is a 9-year-old Greyhound in Geneva, OH, who needs $266 for Hospitalization for Infection in Rear Leg.

Geneva, OH • NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue

Sweet and softhearted Sandy soaks up love and attention like a “greyt” thirsty sponge. Warmly welcomed here when her owners could no longer care for her and left her alone for too many hours a day, she gives new meaning to the term “velcro dog”, following us wherever we go and watching intently while the food bowls and medications are prepared for her newfound, four-legged friends. When she first arrived at the Sanctuary, the excess weight on her fine-boned frame left her winded and out of shape. A proper diet and exercise has her back at her normal weight, although the arthritis in her elbow is becoming more pronounced with her advancing age. Laser therapy and supplements are helping, thankfully. Quiet and charming, Sandy enjoys playing with the other dogs, likes chewing on bones, and has finally found her place on our bed! Sandy’s not fond of thunderstorms and needs to snuggle with her human caretakers until the noise abates. It's hard not be captivated by Sandy's deep, soulful eyes and wide, smiling face. Sandy's rear paw suddenly became infected and within an hour, the infection moved up her leg, causing fever and swelling. We have rushed her to Madison Vet where she's now hospitalized and getting IV fluids and high-powered antibiotics along with pain medications to conquer the infection. Her paw is also being soaked and flushed to help drain the infection. As a registered nonprofit rescue, specializing in senior and medical needs animals, we rely on donations to pay for vet bills. Sandy was abandoned once, please don't abandon her in her time of need. Even a small donation will help save her life.

Geneva, OH • NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue

Coming from a rough and neglectful past where she was most likely used as a breeding dog and then dumped by her owner and ran as a stray, Lacey is surprisingly sweet and kind and, above all, forgiving despite her numerous, painful rotting teeth, huge tumors and high blood pressure and high levels of protein in her urine. Lacey arrived woefully thin due to a huge intestinal parasite burden that was negatively impacting her liver and hemoglobin. And sadly, because of this, she needed to be separated from the other animals until she was clean. But that never stopped her from impishly playing hide and seek through the deck railing with her caretakers and several of the other dogs, where it’s all love and gentleness. Thriving on her caretakers’ love and affection, she loves snuggling in blankets, being bathed and massaged, and is easy to groom. Friendly and well-behaved at the vet, where she’s a special favorite, she’s sleeping better, and longer now, is as smart as she is sweet, and is always in tune with what’s going on around her. Lacey has four different tumors on her body, and the two that are the most concerning are on her chest. The pendulous one is about the size of a lemon and sways back and forth when she moves. The other is a subcutaneous tumor that is growing in size daily. Although benign, they need to be removed, along with her numerous rotting teeth. Lacey must also be spayed to help prevent mammary tumors. We provide lifetime care for animals with medical needs and rely solely on donations to pay for their vet bills. Bend, OR • People Saving Animals

Cecilia is a senior dog who has lived in a shelter in rural Guatemala for several years. She, like the other dogs and cats at the shelter, was rescued from the streets. The shelter is looking for a home for all the animals that live there, but unfortunately it did not find one for Cecilia. There she has a roof, water and food. Cecilia shared a cage with other dogs her age for several years; Little by little, these were dying, so she joined another pack made up of two younger dogs. She adapted very well and they respect her. Like every senior dog, she's calm. Since she has lived in a shelter, she is not used to being loving; however, let them stroke her head. She, like all rescued animals, is special because she is a survivor. She was born and lived in difficult conditions, on a street, without taking the care that is required. She probably had to forage for food since she was little and maybe someone mistreated her while doing it. She was fortunate enough to arrive at a shelter where she has lived for years. Shelter staff observed that Cecilia began to lose weight, despite the fact that she did eat. They dewormed her, but this did not help. Therefore, a volunteer took her to a veterinary clinic to be evaluated. The blood test revealed anemia and an infection. Liver damage was also observed. Skin examination showed scabies. Cecilia lives in an overcrowded shelter with limited resources. People Saving Animals supports the shelter by taking sick dogs and cats to the vet and then takes care of finding financial support to pay the bill.

Sadly, when the rescue found swollen lymph nodes that possibly indicated cancer, they tried to find an adopter with cancer experience. When no adopter could be found, Ozzy was transferred into our sanctuary program. While we don't know much about Ozzy's past, we can see evidence of a very rough life. With a broken toe that was never set, missing pieces of his ear and scars all over his face, we can only imagine the horrors that he's lived through. Yet, Ozzy is as sweet and friendly and affectionate as any hound we've ever cared for. He loves all humans and canines! In addition to his swollen lymph nodes, Ozzy also tested positive for Lyme disease, has high blood pressure and extremely high proteinuria. He's taking medications for his blood pressure, for Lyme and he's eating a special diet (high protein, high fat and low carbohydrate diet with added omega 3). Ozzy adores food and eats with gusto! Ozzy underwent a needle aspiration of his lymph nodes and the cytology suggested lymphoma. We now need to stage this cancer to see what options are available for treatment and long-term care. Kent, WA

I am a low income senior on social security disability, and issues in the past year have made it harder to take good care of my 2 dogs. I'm seeking help for my little terrier I call "The Smidget" whom I adopted from a rescue 6 years ago, (he's about 8-9 now). Like a lot of small terriers he has teeth problems and now a lot of decay; many teeth need to be removed. I live alone with two dogs, both getting to be seniors but still enjoying regular nature walks. They are my steady companions who make me laugh and get me out on regular walks. Both my dogs keep each other company. I also take them to visit my nieces and nephews, they both love kids and people in general. Last year l had to move to a 'senior apartment," but they are coping quite well. My "smidget terrier' is both a cuddly lap dog/ emotional support who sleeps with me at night and wakes me up every morning with his funny stretch and big expressive eyes. He is as good at 'zoomies' as cuddling, with hilarious expressions. Always eager to get me out to exercise and breath - which I really need due to my own physical and mental health. He pulls on my heart strings since day 1. I hope to treat my little terrier's bad teeth; up to half of them need to be removed due to decay. I had a similar estimate a year ago but didn't have the money even then. Now his teeth are worse and my financial situation is worse due to events of the past year. I fear him getting an infection. I adopted my 2 dogs when I was still working/ self-supporting. But 6 years ago I developed a rare autoimmune disease called MCTD (damaged my lungs and causes chronic pain). Then in the past few months I had a bad car wreck and a Stroke. I need to keep my buddies healthy!

Olive is a 13-year-old Boston in Seattle, WA, who needs $1,900 for Thyroidectemy.

Seattle, WA

13 years ago, Olive rescued me during my recovery from a traumatic event. I really didn’t know what I was getting into when my family gifted me a puppy. I do know that upon meeting her I was overcome with the desire to keep her safe and happy. Our relationship gave me the courage to heal. I want to return to her, the opportunity to persevere in the face of adversity. From the very beginning Olive was a ball dog. She loves to play fetch endlessly. I tried to get her into Frisbee but she was serious about the ball. We’ve explored trails up and down the coast from Southern California to Seattle Washington. We’ve enjoyed camping trips, combing the beaches of Humboldt and row boats on Lake Bon Temp. Olive has a great relationship with other dogs. When our roommate was a dog walker, Olive adapted the responsibility of mothering young dogs. She was particularly close with a Leonberger she raised from the time he was 4 months old. No matter how big he got, he always bowed down to Olive’s small stature and followed her lead. She would scold older dogs for playing too hard with the pups. Olive has recently been diagnosed with hypercalcemia due to an enlarged parathyroid gland. The only treatment is removal of the parathyroid. Without treatment her muscles will shrink, her bones will become thin and painful. If left untreated she will experience gastrointestinal problems, acute renal failure, coma, and death. Hypercalcemia is rarely the diagnosis for the symptoms Olive presents. It’s the type of surgery requires a board-certified surgeon and up to 3 days of hospitalization. Although I've taken on a second job, financially I'm falling short. Olive could use your help. Thank you

Freckles is a 11-year-old Red Heeler Mix in Milford, MA, who needs $950 for Mass Removal Surgery.

Milford, MA

I found Freckles when she was around 10 months old, when she was abandoned at a dog park. I brought her home with plans to turn over to rescue I fostered for. After waiting the 7 days before they could step in, I had come to realize that my older girl Honey was very attached. Which she didn’t do very often, especially to foster dogs. So, was decided I would keep them together. Freckles is the Yang to Honey’s Ying. She has always been a sweet soul, with balanced energy. Loves people! So much she earned the nickname “traitor baby” Because she has no loyalty to me if someone else is willing to pet her. But, she is essential to Honey. Honey loves to cuddle with Freckles and will often sit with Freckles and groom her. Freckles is like Honey’s support dog at times. She is a goober. She loves her wiggles. She can be sprinting across the yard and suddenly decide to do a somersault into a wiggle session. Since she has a short snout, she has trouble breathing so she snores, which is so hypnotic to listen to! I easily fall asleep snuggled with her listening to her snore. And have to love those teeth exposed when she sleeps! Can’t resist the urge to touch them! Freckles has had a mass on her front leg for couple years now. But there was concerns about removal, as she has a heart murmur and I was also concerned about if removal would make more grow andnot worth the risk with the murmur. Well, recently, it has torn from the leg and now requires immediate removal. So, don’t really have a choice but remove it now. Been tight on finances, already living paycheck to paycheck, not having ability to squirrel money away for emergencies like this. But Freckles is so important to my little family, I must try and find a way to make her better and keep her with us

Mary is a 3-year-old American Pit Bull in Troy, NY, who needs $2,000 for Heartworm Treatment and Intestinal Blockage Removal.

Troy, NY

On the first of the year, I pulled Mary a 3 year old Pit Bull from an underfunded and under supported shelter in Louisianna. Mary did not have much time left before she was expected to be euthanized. We have fostered upwards of 300 pit bulls over the years and our hope was to do the same for Mary. We confirmed a transport and she arrived in Upstate New York to begin her new life. We have learned a lot about Mary over the past couple of months. Shelter life and the transportation was extremely traumatizing for her. She arrived completely petrified. Through this fear, she has attached very closely to myself and my significant other. While our hope is that Mary will find her forever family someday, if that does not happen- we are her family. Ms Mary has some very interesting behaviors. We know that she must have had a tough start in life because at the age of 3, she nurses on blankets. This is a sign that she was taken away from her mom too soon. She is also extremely timid with some people which leads us to believe that she was hurt by someone. That being said, she is incredibly loving to the people she builds trust with! When We pulled Mary, we were under the impression that she was Heartworm Negative. Unfortunately we have found out that she is in advanced stages of heartworm. The x rays also revealed that she has wire in her intestines. She will have to undergo medical treatment that will cost approximately $2500. I have rescued and fostered upwards of 300 dogs, mainly focusing on pulling females that are pregnant. It breaks my heart to say that I do not have the financial means to put Mary through medical treatment as I have many lives to save.

Duke is a 1-year-old Boxer Mix in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for Diagnostics Needed for Abdomen Full of Fluid.

Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates

In overcrowded and underfunded shelters, innocent lives can be put on the euthanasia list simply due to a lack of resources - like this one-year-old, energetic and friendly boy, Duke. Duke was abandoned at a rural shelter. The staff pooled their money together to take him to a vet where he was diagnosed with heart failure based on his clinical presentation. They paid for a month of medication, but were still faced with the pressure to euthanize for space. Everyone had fallen in love with Duke and did not want him to die. All of us at One by One Animal Advocates could feel the desperation when they asked us to take him as a hospice foster. One glance at his adorable face, and it was clear that there was no way we could turn him away! Our hearts won't accept a hospice-only future for this young pup. We refuse to simply settle with what's wrong and will do whatever it takes to make sure he gets the treatment needed to live life as any happy, playful dog his age should. Fluid (more than 15 extra pounds) has accumulated in Duke's abdomen, signaling underlying inflammation, infection, heart condition, cancer or more. Further diagnostics will be performed, starting with draining some fluid and sending it off to the lab for analysis. Can the Waggle community help us figure out Duke’s medical issues and give him the life he was meant to have, and not the one he currently has? A donation would be an immense relief for her getting Duke on his road to recovery!

Petey

Petey is a 12-year-old Beagle in Geneva, OH, who needs $1,222 for Diagnostic X-rays and Treatment for Heartworm Disease.

Geneva, OH • NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue

Petey was a stray and when no one came for him, he was in grave danger of being euthanized at a small, overcrowded, underfunded shelter, trying to do its best with limited space and resources. Petey is now safe and has a permanent place to live out his remaining years, surrounded by love, thanks to a wonderful group of kind people that volunteered to drive him to The Sanctuary. Petey, despite his pain, has a zest for life, loves humans and canines alike, and has quickly settled into his new life after an initial bout of anxiety. With so many changes, this old man has shown how resilient he can be, once he knows he's safe. He's learned to be a house dog and will bark when he has to go outside or when he wants a treat! Petey's tail never stops waging, even when he's being examined by the vet! He has been diagnosed with heartworm disease, a heart murmur, rotting teeth and an ear infection. His spine, knees and hips are very painful, and his left rear leg is splayed outward, causing him to walk with a limp and a swagger. Lab results show that the heartworms are affecting not only his heart, but his kidneys, his liver and his urine values. Petey has started a 30-day course of doxycycline, treatment for his ear infection and supplements to strengthen his heart as well as pain medications. He will need x-rays and 3 heartworm injections. As a registered animal rescue specializing in the long-term care of animals with medical needs, we rely on donations to pay for vet care. We've already raised funds for Petey's lab tests. Can you help this sweet, old man whose been a victim of neglect for many years?

Radar

Radar is a 6-year-old Pit Bull mix in Geneva, OH, who needs $268 for urgent care.

Geneva, OH • NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue

What happened to Radar before The Sanctuary at NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue saved him is a mystery. He was found as a stray -- emaciated and unsteady on his feet -- it was clear he was injured. Had he run from his assailant or been hit by a car? He suffered in silence and unspeakable pain until animal control officers picked him up and brought him to a shelter. Potential adopters overlooked him because of his black coat, injuries, and breed, part Pit Bull. "Despite everything he has endured, Radar is sweet, loving, and trusting," Duane J., with the rescue group, tells Waggle. The nonprofit group rushed Radar to their veterinarian, who discovered Radar weighs 15 pounds less than he should, has inflammatory bowel disease, intermittent bloody diarrhea, and heartworm. Radar has an eye deformity that may need surgery, and his hind end is weak due to severe muscle wasting in his hips and back legs. This dear dog needs X-rays to see what's causing his hip and leg issues and to check his heart before treating his heartworm. "We specialize in the long-term care of animals with medical needs; we rely on donations to pay for vet care," Duane says. "Please don't overlook Radar as others have before!" Please give to help Radar hone in on getting help!

Reese Petunia

Reese Petunia is a 8-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix in Jacksonville, FL, who needs $2,000 for Melanoma Vaccine.

Jacksonville, FL

My name is Lisa Murphy and I am fundraising for my beloved Reese who was recently diagnosed with stage 1 oral melanoma. My daughter and I rescued Reese from a bad situation when she was about 6 mos old. For the last 4 years Reese & I and 2 cats are the only ones in the house. She is a wonderful companion. If not for Reese I don’t think I’d get out some days. Reese and I are best friends. Her other best friend is my cat Gracie. They snuggle together for naps. Reese loves everyone and her goal is to kiss her family members on the lips. Her favorites are my children and grandchildren. She has a gentle mode she uses for younger children. She celebrates homecomings with zoomies, Then she stares at the person until she can get a kiss, lips preferred! Reese talks! She seems to be mimicking me and pleading with me. This is usually when she wants to go out for a walk or outside for some reason. She also is a lip kisser. It startles some people given that she’s 60lbs. She sometimes decides she likes a stranger and wants to kiss their lips, they could be sitting on our sofa or standing in our driveway. I have developed a few friends this way! Reese was diagnosed with a stage 2 low grade MCT and oral melanoma on 11/19. Both were removed 11/22. 12/14 veterinary oncology ran imaging and pathology and determined no metastatic disease. Her oral melanoma is stage 1. She can have surgery on 12/20, surgeon feels he can remove the remaining melanoma with good margins. For the best outcome Reese will need immunotherapy/ melanoma vaccine. I had a medical crisis a few years ago. I was sent to MD Anderson Cancer Center as my blood work indicated Multiple Myeloma. I lost my insurance and this caused financial hardship I’m still recovering. My dx was Lupus and Immunogobuglamamenia. Reese is my heart and soul.

Sally

Sally is a 3-year-old Staffy/Pit Mix in Geneva, OH, who needs $300 for Dental X-Rays Needed to Assess Deformities in Jawbones and Teeth.

Geneva, OH • NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue

Bred by the worst of the backyard breeders to be a bait dog, Sally was tortured and then dumped in a cemetery. Then people living nearby repeatedly tried to shoot her! Sally was so terrified it took animal control officers days to coax her from behind the headstones where she was hiding. When The Sanctuary at NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue heard about Sally, they immediately offered to save her. "Although still terrified of most people, Sally immediately bonded with her female caretaker, finding sympathy and softness she had never known while discovering her courage and ability to love," Duane J., with the rescue, tells Waggle. Their veterinarian found scabs covering her skin from mange. She was nearly bald. Sally's jaw and teeth are malformed to the point where she cannot keep her tongue inside her mouth. Sally now needs a complete set of dental X-rays, a thorough exam, and a cleaning to determine the health of her jawbones and teeth. Dogs like Sally can sustain broken jaws easily. "As a nonprofit rescue, we specialize in caring for special needs dogs like Sally and rely on donations to pay for veterinary bills," Duane says. "Please help us help her!"

Esther

Esther is a 10-year-old Shepherd mix in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for urgent surgery.

Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates

Watching Esther hobble in pain, holding her withered back leg, is heartbreaking. The sweet senior dog was hit by a car and left to die. Finally, someone saw her and called animal control officers, who brought her to a shelter. The shelter did not have the money to help Esther, who appears to have been neglected for years. She was emaciated, had missing fur, and leathery, callused skin. After all this girl suffered, she now faced economic euthanasia. As a last-ditch effort, the shelter contacted One By One Animal Advocates to see if they could save her. The nonprofit group said yes! "Imagine being more than ten years old, out on your own, injured, and trying to get by," Heather A., with the group, tells Waggle. "It has been far too long since someone cared about Esther, if ever." Now Esther needs urgent medical care to save her. Once strong enough, she will have surgery on her leg, her teeth and be spayed. "Can you help us raise the money for her orthopedic surgery," Heather asks. "Help us change her expression to hope, relief, and happiness -- and eventually find her forever home!"

Fort Myers, FL • Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue, Inc

Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue and a good Samaritan stumbled upon a gut-wrenching situation in the wake of Hurricane Ian. Two senior dogs were abandoned in a home. "We received a call about two elderly and very sick dogs, Max and Lester," Dana B., with the rescue, tells Waggle. "They were left alone to fend for themselves after their family was rescued and the home flooded. It devastates us when people are forced to choose between their safety and their pets." Even though the rescue was without power and at capacity with other dogs they saved from the storm -- they could not leave Max and Lester behind! "When our volunteer arrived, they were both lying on the floor, completely immobile in their excrement. They had to be carried out and transported to our kennels," Dana says. Max was so sick he was suffering. The kindest thing was to let him go in peace. Lester was hospitalized gravely ill with pneumonia and multiple health issues. He's fighting for his life. The rescue desperately needs help paying for Lester's veterinary bills. They are overwhelmed with all the animals they saved during the hurricane and are struggling. "We aren't giving up on Lester," Dana says, "We will do everything we can to get him the medical care he needs."

Jacqueline

Jacqueline is a 12-year-old Pittie in Kissimmee, FL, who needs $1,300 for Mastectomy.

Kissimmee, FL • The Pittie Party of Central Florida

Jacqueline's scheduled euthanasia date was set for September 28th. This is the day Hurricane Ian hit and we knew immediately we had to save her. She is in our care at The Pittie Party of Central Florida sanctuary and is safe thanks to our supporters. Now we need your help to get her healthy again! This sweet senior is around 11-13 years. Our vet is impressed how spunky and active she is for her age. She love to play with one of the other rescue dogs, Pluto. LOVES treats and rubs. We also found out she also loves to swim which can be seen in our livestream! We had her in her own area for several days and quickly discovered that she requires a dog companion in order to thrive. Jacqueline continually urinated all over her area and on her bed. We initially thought she may have incontinence. After she had time to decompress, we started introducing her to some of our dogs. She has bonded pretty strongly with one of our sanctuary dogs, Pluto. They are inseparable and love to roughhouse together. It appears that Pluto wants to adopt her and we approve! Then at her initial vet appointment, the medical team discovered several mammary tumors that need to be surgically removed. One is exceptionally large, painful and heavy. We don’t know how much these tumors are affecting Jacqueline’s well being, but we do know she needs surgery as soon as possible. Jacqueline has a lot of life left in her and has already won the hearts of many. We are a foster based dog rescue which focuses on saving dogs on the euthanasia list--no way could we say no to that sweet face and we aren't going to now. Please consider donating and giving Jacqueline her happily ever after!

Bo

Bo is a 14-year-old Chiweenie in Villa Rica, GA, who needs $799 for IDEXX (5 Panel) Chem10 CLIP, VetLab Station Urinalysis, VetLab Station IHD_CBC.

Villa Rica, GA

Thanksgiving 2012 I had to send one of my elderly dogs over the rainbow bridge. Since I only rescue or adopt my pets, I went to the shelter on Saturday to find the perfect brother for Peanut. I walked through the many loud dogs, and this one little guy was trembling in the back corner of his crate. I was drawn to him. As we played in the private room, he stole my heart and the rest is history! Bo is the sweetest snuggle boy! He has 2 canine brothers and 1 feline sister. He is the sweetest of all of them. He's the favorite of everyone who meets him. I don't tell the siblings though.;) He loves to stay in my lap or right beside me watching TV. If I get up, he's following me where ever I go, so no privacy in the bathroom. 😁 We live in the woods providing deer and turkey viewing he loves. He has an absolute fetish with tissues. I found this out when I returned to my seat having left one on the sofa. I thought maybe I had misplaced it, but later caught him steal one, run under my bed and begin eating it! Crazy boy! I now automatically just tuck it in my shirt when I sit down. If I happen to forget, I'll find a shredded tissue some random place. The mess is a small price to pay. Bo had a mass removed 3/1/22 the size of a tangerine. By 3/29 he had another mass growing near the same area which was also removed. Our veterinarian thought he got all the cancer. On 9/27/22, I noticed a new growth and he seemed to have a fever. At his appt, he had bloodwork and x-rays done and was given meds. I know he is still in pain because he trembles frequently. I'm still paying toward the surgeries, now an additional $800+ for bloodwork and x-rays. In June, a tree fell on my house with expenses putting vet payments further behind. I would be grateful for any help just to keep him comfortable until the inevitable occurs. Thank you!

MacKenzie is an 8-year-old Greyhound in Geneva, OH, who needs $480 for urgent diagnostic tests.

Geneva, OH • NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue

When MacKenzie first arrived at the NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue sanctuary, her nights were filled with gut-wrenching screams until she realized that her caretakers were her protectors. Now she is happy and knows she's safe and loved. MacKenzie's past is a mystery. She has deep physical scars and needs urgent medical help. She suddenly developed a bloated belly, severely swollen hind legs, and her blood pressure went through the roof. "Her initial test results show that she's losing a good deal of protein through her kidneys or intestines and that her liver is not functioning properly, although there is no sign of infection," Duane J. with the rescue tells Waggle. MacKenzie now needs an ultrasound, fluid testing, and blood work to determine what's causing her condition. "We have provided a haven to ease her emotional pain; now we need to do everything we can to help her get through this crisis," Duane says. "Underneath her anxiety lies a sweet, kind hound that gets along wonderfully with all of the other Sanctuary hounds, large and small. She's most often found sleeping on her caretake 's bed." The nonprofit sanctuary provides lifelong care for old and sick animals and relies on donations to pay for medical care. Can you help MacKenzie get the diagnostic tests she needs?

Luca

Luca is a 3-year-old English Bulldog in Greenacres, FL, who needs $2,000 for Tail Amputation.

Greenacres, FL

We adopted our baby boy Luca in July of this year, and were told he is 3 years old. We just had to adopt him, as we remembered him from last year, and we were really saddened by the fact that the last adopters returned him after 7 months. Both times we saw Luca, he was in rough condition. His eyes were swollen and full of mucus; and, we knew he was special needs, and would need vet attention. Since bringing him home, we have fallen so in love with Luca. He is so gentle and kind, but stands up for himself for sure. Because he has reoccurring infections, due to a severe tail pocket, he smells from the behind; and, this causes other dogs to overwhelm him with aggressive attention. He gets along great with our other two dogs, and even defends our cat from our not-so-cat-friendly dog. Luca means "bringer of light" and that he has done, in so many ways. He is so special. Almost two years ago, I lost my dog Zara to kidney failure, and I haven't been the same. She was my best friend. And, although we have two other very special dogs, I just haven't been able to get past it. I am still not past it, but Luca has really filled such a void. I feel Zara sent Luca to me, I really do. Luca has been dealing with infections his whole life. His tail pocket is so deep that it is impossible to keep the area from getting irritated by his own hairs and moisture. He comes to me and communicates when he needs help, because he is always itchy, and sometimes even bleeds from rubbing against things. We treat him throughout the day for his eyes, and tail pocket; but, he is suffering. We took a major blow, financially due to the pandemic. Although we are bouncing back now, it will take a while for us to be in a position to pay for this surgery. When we adopted him, we were only prepared to cover the eye issues. We were not told about the tail problems.
