Zita

Her Babies Are Gone. Now Zita Is Fighting for Her Own Life.

Boiling Springs, SC • South Carolina Community Cat Project

🐾 South Carolina Community Cat Project Needs Your Help Zita has already endured more heartbreak than any cat should ever have to face. After losing every one of her kittens, this sweet mama cat should have been given the chance to grieve and begin healing. Instead, she is now facing a life-threatening medical emergency of her own. Zita was rushed to the emergency veterinarian after developing a dangerously high fever of 105°F. Bloodwork revealed her white blood cell count had skyrocketed to over 42,000, a sign that her body was battling a severe infection. Veterinarians quickly determined the likely cause: stump pyometra, a rare but life-threatening infection that can occur after a previous spay surgery. The infection has rapidly progressed to sepsis, and without immediate surgery, Zita has less than 24 hours to live. She is in surgery today, but this emergency came without warning. Her emergency examination, diagnostics, hospitalization, stabilization, and lifesaving surgery have already created overwhelming veterinary expenses for South Carolina Community Cat Project, and there are still additional costs ahead as she recovers. Will you help save Zita's life? Every tax-deductible donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward the emergency care she needs to survive. If you're unable to give today, sharing Zita's story could help connect her with someone who can. Zita's heartbreaking journey is also a reminder of just how dangerous pregnancy and reproduction can be for community cats. Although she was no longer pregnant when she came into rescue, the physical toll of motherhood and complications that followed have left her fighting for her life. Rescue teams see tragedies like this far too often, which is why spaying cats before these emergencies occur is so important. Zita has already lost her babies. Please don't let her lose her life too. Today, she is surrounded by a veterinary team doing everything they can to save her. With your support, we can give this resilient mama the chance to recover, heal, and finally experience the safe, healthy future she deserves.

Genevieve

Born with a Spine That Split in Two, Help Genevieve Keep Fighting

Kernersville, NC • Flopsy's Friends Foundation

Some kittens are born into this world with every advantage. Genevieve wasn't. Before she ever had a chance to explore, play, or simply be a carefree kitten, she was fighting for her life. After suffering a devastating seizure, advanced imaging revealed what even specialists rarely see. Genevieve was born with Diplomyelia, an extraordinarily rare congenital condition that caused her spinal cord to split into two instead of developing as one. Her body struggles to coordinate movement, and she cannot fully control her bladder or bowels. The heartbreaking discoveries didn't stop there. Large portions of the areas of her brain responsible for movement and reflexes never fully formed. Because her condition is structural, there is no surgery that can fix it. Her neurologists and her caregivers at Flopsy’s Friends developed one goal: keep Genevieve comfortable, seizure free, and give her every opportunity to enjoy the life she deserves. And Genevieve has exceeded every expectation. Every milestone has been hard earned. She learned to stand and eat on her own with a specially designed feeding setup. She began grooming herself, a victory that most people would never think twice about. With medications, physical therapy, laser therapy, acupuncture, rehabilitation, and endless love, she has become stronger, steadier, brighter, and more determined every single day. She has slowly been able to reduce her prednisone dose, her eyes have become more focused, her coat has started growing back, and she continues proving that she is so much more than her diagnosis. But Genevieve's journey has taken another heartbreaking turn. Out of nowhere, she became critically ill and was rushed to emergency care after developing a high fever and severe breathing difficulties. Doctors diagnosed pneumonia. Imaging also revealed a small amount of free fluid that now requires evaluation by a cardiologist to rule out any underlying heart disease. Her little body is fighting so hard. Her fever returned, and her white blood cell count soared to 38,000, more than double what it should be, showing just how hard her immune system is working. Thankfully, oxygen therapy has helped her breathe more comfortably, but she still needs specialized care, additional diagnostics, medications, and ongoing monitoring. Watching Genevieve struggle is heartbreaking. She can't tell us what hurts. She can't explain what she needs. All she can do is keep fighting. And she does. Every single day. Genevieve has never given up, and neither will we. Her care has already included emergency hospitalizations, MRI and CT imaging, neurology specialists, medications, rehabilitation, acupuncture, laser therapy, cardiology consultations, bloodwork, and continued monitoring. The costs have become overwhelming, but saying "no" has never been an option for this extraordinary little girl. If Genevieve has touched your heart, please consider making a donation today. Every gift no matter the size helps provide the specialized medical care she needs to continue her incredible fight. Together, we can help Genevieve keep proving that miracles don't always look the way we expect, they sometimes come wrapped in gray fur with an unstoppable spirit. 8/12/26 Update We have an important update on Genevieve, and this little fighter needs our help more than ever. Genevieve recently saw a cardiologist, and thankfully, there was some reassuring news about her heart. She has occasional high pressure in her pulmonary artery that can cause a murmur when she gets excited, as well as a thickened tricuspid valve that allows some blood to flow backward and makes her heart work harder. For now, her veterinary team believes these issues can be monitored with annual echocardiograms. Unfortunately, her appointment also brought a new and concerning discovery. An ultrasound showed a large mass in Genevieve’s abdominal area, something that had also been noted during her recent emergency hospitalization. Her platelet count is also dangerously low at just 38,000, which is especially concerning for a kitten who already struggles with balance and is more prone to stumbling. Flopsy’s Friends is now working to get Genevieve an urgent abdominal ultrasound, and she may need to return to the emergency hospital to have it done as quickly as possible. Genevieve is also still running fevers, struggling to urinate, experiencing significant bloating, and dealing with persistent ear infections. Her little body is clearly struggling, and she urgently needs answers and continued medical care. For now, Genevieve is happy to be back home. She even cried a little during her echocardiogram, which is unusual for this normally quiet girl, but she was such a trooper through it all. The cost of Genevieve’s extensive care has depleted the rescue’s available funds, and she still has more diagnostics and treatment ahead. If you can donate or share her fundraiser, please do. Every bit of support helps Flopsy’s Friends continue fighting alongside this extraordinary little girl and get her the urgent care she needs.

Blueberry Muffin Survived the Euthanasia List and Almost Died from an Obstruction

Hicksville, NY • Pioneers for Animal Welfare Society, Inc.

Blueberry Muffin was saved from the euthanasia list back in March by our rescue, PAWS (Pioneers for Animal Welfare Society) located in Long Island, NY. After everything he has already been through, we truly believed his future was finally looking bright. Now, just a few months later, Blueberry desperately needed us once again, and we could not let him down. Blueberry was recently hospitalized at an emergency veterinary hospital suffering from a serious blockage. His condition was painful, dangerous, and life-threatening, and he needed emergency surgery to remove the obstruction. We were able to put up some of the money to help with his surgery because we could not let him go without the care he needed. But that expense has added to the financial strain on our rescue, and we need your help to replenish those funds so we can continue saving other animals who need us. This sweet senior has already overcome so much. He survived being placed on the euthanasia list and was given a second chance through rescue. He deserves the opportunity to keep fighting and continue enjoying the life that was finally within reach. In a very short period of time, our rescue has stepped up to save so many vulnerable animals from the New York City's Animal Care Centers. Unfortunately, we have also been faced with one costly medical emergency after another, creating an enormous financial strain on our organization. No matter how difficult things become, we never want finances to be the reason a dog doesn't receive the care they need. That is why we are asking for help. If you can find it in your heart to make a donation to help us with the cost of Blueberry Muffin's emergency surgery, we would be forever grateful—and so would he. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward the lifesaving care he urgently needs. Please help us give Blueberry Muffin the chance to recover, heal, and continue the life he was so close to losing. Thank you for standing with Blueberry Muffin when he needs it most.

Pulled From the Euthanasia List, Teddy Is Fighting for His Life

Boca Raton, FL • Jess Helping Furrbabies

Just two years old, Teddy should have had his whole life ahead of him. Instead, he found himself on the county shelter's euthanasia list after becoming critically ill. His owners reported that he had accidentally ingested an unknown chemical and, after seeking initial veterinary care, were unable to afford the extensive treatment he desperately needed. With nowhere else to turn and his medical condition worsening, Teddy's future looked heartbreakingly bleak. That's when Jess Helping Furbabies stepped in. Refusing to let Teddy's story end there, the rescue pulled him from the shelter and rushed him for emergency veterinary care. While Teddy is finally safe, his fight is only beginning. Initial bloodwork revealed several alarming abnormalities, including an elevated white blood cell count, low blood glucose, and elevated kidney values, all signs that his body is battling something serious. He remains weak, depressed, and has very little interest in food. His veterinary team has ordered extensive diagnostic testing to determine exactly how much damage the unknown chemical may have caused and what treatment he needs moving forward. Teddy's caregivers are doing everything they can to encourage him to eat. So far, he's only managed a few tiny bites of food. He nibbled on a piece of chicken nugget, but not even enough to finish one. He'll take a short walk outside, but the little energy he has quickly disappears. Once back inside, he quietly returns to his bed, getting up only when absolutely necessary. His heart rate also remains dangerously low, and his veterinarians are closely monitoring him while they await the results of more advanced bloodwork that will help guide the next phase of his treatment. Despite how sick he feels, Teddy's sweet personality is still shining through. He even managed to wag his tail—a small but beautiful reminder that he's still fighting. No dog should come this close to losing their life simply because they need medical care. Jess Helping Furbabies gave Teddy the second chance he deserved, but emergency diagnostics, hospitalization, medications, supportive care, and ongoing treatment come at a significant cost. Your tax-deductible donation today will help provide the lifesaving care Teddy urgently needs. Every gift helps cover advanced diagnostics, hospitalization, medications, supportive treatment, and the continued monitoring his condition requires as veterinarians work to give him the best possible chance at recovery. Teddy is safe now. He's loved. And with your help, he can keep fighting. If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing Teddy's story. Your kindness could help save his life.

Blueberry's Leg Was Torn Off in a Lawn Mower Accident. Help Save His Life.

WHITESTONE, NY • NYC Second Chance Rescue

One moment changed Blueberry's life forever. This sweet dog suffered unimaginable injuries after a horrific lawn mower accident ripped off part of his leg, leaving him with a catastrophic wound and in unimaginable pain. By the time rescuers learned about him, half of his leg was already gone. No animal should ever have to endure this kind of trauma. When NYC Second Chance Rescue received the urgent plea for help from Alabama, there wasn't a second to waste. The rescue immediately stepped in, arranging emergency veterinary care and rushing Blueberry to the hospital, where a team of veterinarians began evaluating the full extent of his injuries. Blueberry needed an emergency amputation. Without hesitation, the rescue agreed to let surgeons quickly remove what remained of his severely damaged leg. The surgery was successful, and Blueberry is now beginning the difficult road to recovery. While the worst of the trauma is behind him, his journey is far from over. Blueberry is receiving intensive pain management, antibiotics, wound care, and around-the-clock monitoring as he recovers from major surgery. He'll need follow-up veterinary visits, medications, bandage care, and plenty of time to heal before he can begin adjusting to life as a three-legged dog. Thankfully, dogs are incredibly resilient. Once Blueberry has recovered, there's every reason to believe he can enjoy a happy, active life. But right now, his focus is simply on healing. Emergency medical care is expensive, and every hour of treatment adds to Blueberry's growing veterinary bill. NYC Second Chance Rescue refused to let him suffer alone, but they can't do it without compassionate supporters standing beside them. Your tax-deductible donation today will help cover Blueberry's emergency hospitalization, diagnostics, surgery, pain medication, and recovery care. Every gift, no matter the size, gives this brave dog another step toward healing and the second chance he so desperately deserves. If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing Blueberry's story. Together, we can help turn one of the worst days of his life into the beginning of a brighter future. 8/5/26 Update When Blueberry first arrived at the shelter, we shared the information that had been provided to us: that his leg had been severed in a lawnmower accident. At the time, the shelter that sent us the urgent plea was legally prohibited from disclosing the circumstances surrounding his case because of an active investigation. Now, they are permitted to speak and the truth is horrifying. Blueberry was seized through the court system, and his former owner is facing animal cruelty charges. Investigators do not believe that Blueberry lost his leg in a lawnmower accident. They believe he was intentionally attacked by a human and that his leg was deliberately severed. We know how difficult this is to read. We want our community to understand that we initially shared the only information legally available to us. Investigations like this cannot be compromised, because justice and ensuring that animal abusers are held accountable must remain the priority. Because of your support, we were able to provide Blueberry with the critical care he so desperately needed. Surgeons amputated what remained of his badly damaged leg, and he is now receiving the care, safety and compassion he should have had all along. We are outraged. We are devastated. But above all, we are committed to standing beside Blueberry as he heals and to fighting for the justice he deserves.

Mr. Leo

Help Mr. Leo recover from a life-threatening urinary infection.

kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii

This sweet senior cat was once a stray who had found his way to a loving local family, but last week he was rushed to Rescue Kitties of Hawaii in heartbreaking condition. Mr. Leo hadn't eaten in nearly a week, was severely dehydrated, crying in pain, and had a bladder so enlarged that it was nearly the size of a baseball. He was suffering from a severe urinary infection and was on the verge of a life-threatening blockage. If left untreated, he likely would not have survived. RKH immediately started pain medication, antibiotics, anti-nausea medication, fluids, and around-the-clock care. His bladder has to be expressed multiple times a day to keep urine flowing and prevent a fatal blockage. RKH is desperately asking for your help to cover Mr. Leo's medical care, medications, and ongoing treatment as they are dealing with so many medical emergencies. Every donation helps them continue saving animals like him and giving them the second chance they deserve. Mr. Leo has so much life left to live, and thanks to your support, he's finally getting that chance.

George & Haru

Please help George & Haru who need neurological treatment.

kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii

At just 4½ weeks old, these two little boys, George and Haru, came to Rescue Kitties of Hawaii unable to properly use their hind legs and suffering from horrific neurological seizures. For an entire week, the seizures were relentless, and they weren't sure if they would survive. Against all odds, he's still here. After treating them with multiple medications, the seizures have finally stopped—for now. They haven't had a seizure in more than a week but still rely on gabapentin two to three times a day to keep them from returning. They still don't know what caused his condition. Right now, they're doing everything they can to keep them stable on Molokaʻi. They simply don't have the funding to send either one to a specialist on Oʻahu for the advanced care and testing they desperately need. Rescue Kitties of Hawaii is desperately asking for your help to cover the cost of medications and veterinary care in hopes of being able to transport them to Oʻahu for further treatment. Every donation, share, and prayer helps George and Haru keep fighting. They have already overcome so much in this short life. Please help Rescue Kitties of Hawaii give them the chance they need to keep going.

Cherry's Broken Jaw Can't Wait—She Needs Emergency Surgery

Lauderhill, FL • Saving Sage Animal Rescue Foundation, Inc.

Every day, animal rescues are forced to make impossible decisions. Saving Sage Animal Rescue Foundation is already beyond capacity. Their kennels are full, their resources are stretched to the limit, and they even have a sign on the door explaining that they simply cannot take in another animal. But then Cherry arrived. A compassionate Good Samaritan walked through the doors carrying a tiny kitten who was suffering from a devastating injury—a severely fractured jaw. Frightened, unable to eat, and in obvious pain, Cherry needed immediate medical attention. There was no way to turn this kitten away. Some emergencies don't wait for space to open up. Some lives simply can't be left behind. Cherry was immediately brought to safety, where the veterinary team confirmed the severity of the injury. The fracture is too complex to heal on its own and requires emergency surgery with a veterinary specialist. Without surgical repair, Cherry will continue to suffer significant pain, the bones could heal improperly, and this sweet kitten could face lifelong difficulties eating, grooming, and living a normal life. Despite already operating beyond capacity, Saving Sage Animal Rescue Foundation refused to let Cherry suffer alone. They stepped in without hesitation because every animal deserves the chance to heal—especially one who has already endured so much. Now they need your help. Emergency cases like Cherry's are impossible to predict, but they can't be ignored. Every dollar donated will go directly toward the specialized surgery and veterinary care Cherry urgently needs to relieve the pain, repair the damage, and give this tiny kitten the opportunity to grow into the healthy, happy cat she was always meant to be. Cherry's future depends on receiving this surgery in time. Please make a donation today. No gift is too small, and together we can ensure that the rescue never has to choose between saving a life and affording the care that life requires. Help Cherry heal. Help her eat without pain. Help her finally have the future she deserves.

Help Ease Shota’s Heavy Mass

Burnsville, MN • Baw Baw Animal Welfare

Shota has spent 10 years simply asking for the chance to be safe and cared for. Now, he needs help with something he can’t overcome on his own. After being rescued by Baw Baw Animal Welfare, Shota was taken to the veterinarian, where they discovered a concerning lump on his front leg. While it may look small, the growth could be a serious form of cancer. Right now, there’s no way to know for certain until it can be removed and tested. The good news is that surgery offers Shota the best chance. Removing the mass will not only help relieve his discomfort, but it will also allow the veterinary team to determine exactly what they’re dealing with and what treatment, if any, he may need next. Every day this mass remains, the uncertainty grows. Shota deserves the opportunity to move comfortably, heal, and enjoy the years he has ahead without this frightening burden. Your donation can help cover the cost of his surgery and give this sweet senior dog the chance he deserves. Every gift brings Shota one step closer to a healthier future. Please help Rocky fight for his life after being severely burned.

Harrisburg, PA • Castaway Critters, The James A. Hueholt Memorial Foundation for Animals

Meet Rocky, a 9-month-old Terrier who survived a devastating house fire. Nearly 70% of his body is burned, and despite unimaginable pain, this sweet boy is fighting with everything he has. Rocky is receiving around-the-clock emergency care at Shores Veterinary Emergency Center. He is on a feeding tube, IV fluids, antibiotics, pain medication, and intensive burn wound care. His eyes are covered in painful ulcers from the fire, and every round of medications and treatment takes nearly two hours. Rocky's owner was unable to take on the enormous cost of his care, so when Shores asked if Castaway Critters could step in, they immediately said yes. They wouldn't let this baby lose his life simply because the cost of saving him was too high. His care has already started with an $8,000 estimate, and they know the road ahead will be long. But the veterinary team is seeing small signs of progress and believes Rocky has a chance at a full recovery. Rocky lost his home and everything he knew. Now, he needs you. Nova

Already Struggling to Walk With CH, Then Shot With a BB Gun, Nova Kept Fighting Every Day Until We Found Her. Now She Deserves Surgery to Finally Be Free From Pain.

West Palm Beach, FL • Wild Whiskers, Inc.

Nova has already beaten impossible odds. This sweet young cat was found wobbling through a busy parking lot, weaving between moving cars as she searched for scraps of food. Every unsteady step put her life at risk. A concerned community member saw that she couldn't survive much longer and reached out to Wild Whiskers for help. When rescuers brought Nova to safety, they discovered that she wasn't injured from a car accident, as many had feared. Instead, Nova has cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), a neurological condition that affects her balance and coordination. Cats with CH can live long, happy lives indoors, but on the streets, where every step can mean dodging traffic or escaping predators, her condition made survival incredibly dangerous. But then we learned that Nova had endured something even more heartbreaking. A BB was found lodged in her body. Someone shot this tiny, vulnerable cat with a BB gun. We can't stop thinking about what that must have looked like—this sweet girl already struggling to walk, wobbling through the streets, barely able to survive and find enough food, only to be hurt even further by someone who chose to shoot her. It absolutely shattered our hearts. And yet, Nova kept going. Her challenges didn't end there. During her initial veterinary examination, doctors discovered dangerously high pressure in one of her eyes. A veterinary ophthalmologist confirmed that Nova is permanently blind in that eye because of glaucoma. The eye cannot be saved, and the painful pressure has been affecting her every single day. Nova has also already been through so much of what no cat should have to endure. Veterinarians discovered that she had previously given birth to kittens. It's difficult to imagine this fragile little cat, struggling to walk and survive outdoors while carrying a litter, giving birth, and trying to care for her babies—all while living with a painful, blind eye. Thankfully, Nova has now been spayed, so she will never have to endure that hardship again. We thought we were almost at the finish line. Nova's veterinary specialists recommended an enucleation to remove her painful, damaged eye. Because she is already blind in that eye, the surgery will not take away vision. Instead, it will eliminate the painful pressure she has been forced to live with and spare her from a lifetime of stressful daily eye medications. We were hoping that once her eye was removed, Nova's major medical needs would finally be behind her. Unfortunately, we learned that she has another painful problem that cannot be ignored. Nova's dental disease is extensive. She has resorptive lesions and multiple broken teeth, which means she is also experiencing significant dental pain. She will need a dental surgery to remove the damaged teeth and address the disease in her mouth. Her eye surgery and dental surgery must be performed separately because of the risk of bacteria associated with oral surgery and eye surgery. That means one more procedure—and one more expense—for this little survivor. We are so close to giving Nova the comfortable, pain-free life she deserves. Wild Whiskers has already spent hundreds of dollars on Nova's emergency veterinary care, diagnostics, vaccinations, examinations, and specialist care. We are now raising funds for her enucleation, biopsy, and the dental surgery she desperately needs. If enough funds are raised, her removed eye will also be sent for biopsy. The results could help identify any underlying disease that could potentially threaten the vision in her remaining eye, allowing her veterinary team to better protect the sight she still has. Nova spent who knows how long struggling through life alone—wobbling through a parking lot, searching for food, enduring a painful blind eye, dental disease, and even a gunshot wound. Then one compassionate person stopped and asked for help. That person changed everything. Now we have the chance to change the rest of Nova's life. She deserves to know what it feels like to wake up without pain. She deserves soft beds, full meals, safety, love, and the chance to simply be a cat. She deserves to never again have to fight for her next meal or fear the people around her. Please help us get Nova through this final hurdle. Every donation brings her closer to having her painful eye removed and receiving the dental care she needs. And if you're unable to donate, sharing Nova's campaign can be just as powerful. We have come so far with this sweet girl. Please help us get her across the finish line.

Jubilee- spent 45 days dumped in the woods surviving, is now fighting for her life

Deltona, FL • Purrfectly Wonky Animal Rescue

💔 After 45 Days of Surviving Alone… Jubilee Is Fighting for Her Life. 💔 Jubilee. Named after the church where her family abandoned her instead of doing the right thing and finding her a loving home or rescue. They gave her no chance. For a month and a half, Jubilee survived alone in the woods beside that church, just feet from a busy road. Every night she curled up alone in the woods, scared, and forgotten. For weeks, we showed up every single day. We fed her on a schedule, let her get used to our scent, built a custom trap, monitored trail cameras, and prayed she would trust us enough to walk into that kennel. She was so broken. You’d only catch glimpses of her peeking through the trees or walking down the side of the road with her head hanging low. Then one day… she chose to trust us. She walked into the kennel. We cried tears of relief because we truly believed the hardest part of her story was finally over. Jubilee settled into her foster home and experienced things she’d likely never had before—a soft bed, toys, regular meals, and people who loved her. She finally got to stop surviving, stop living in fight or flight and simply be a dog. But that happiness lasted only a few days. Jubilee didn’t want to eat dinner Wednesday. Anyone who knows Jubilee knows that’s not normal. Her foster rushed her in for testing and unfortunately she tested positive for parvo. Now the little dog who survived abandonment, starvation, loneliness, and weeks alone in the woods is lying in an emergency hospital, fighting for her life. It’s impossible not to wonder… If someone had simply vaccinated her… If someone had simply asked a rescue for help… If someone had simply cared… Would she be fighting for her life today? We can’t change the choices that were made for Jubilee. We can only fight to make sure they aren’t the reason she loses her life. Our rescue is exhausted. Emergency after emergency has drained every dollar we have. Medical bills continue to pile up, but giving up on Jubilee has never been an option. Please, if you can, donate. If you can’t, please share her story. She waited 45 days for someone to save her. Please don’t let her run out of time now. ❤️ She deserves the chance to know that being rescued wasn’t the happiest part of her story… it was only the beginning.

Someone Hurt Muffin. Now This Tiny Kitten Is Fighting for His Life.

Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.

Muffin should have been spending his days playing, exploring, and discovering the world. Instead, this innocent kitten was found alone on the streets, abandoned, terrified, and suffering from injuries no animal should ever endure. The most heartbreaking injury is a deep, horrific wound across his neck that appears to have been intentionally inflicted. By the time rescuers found him, the wound had become severely infected, filled with pus, and was causing him unimaginable pain. But that wasn't all. Muffin was also dangerously dehydrated and burning with a high fever as his tiny body struggled to fight the overwhelming infection. Without immediate medical care, he may not have survived. He was rushed to the veterinary hospital, where he is now receiving around-the-clock treatment. Veterinarians have started antibiotics, intravenous fluids, pain medication, and wound management to stabilize him. His fever must come down, and the infection must be brought under control before surgeons can safely repair the devastating injury. Once his wound has been thoroughly cleaned and all infected tissue removed, Muffin will undergo surgery to close the injury with sutures. Even after surgery, he will need ongoing medications, bandage changes, and careful monitoring to ensure his little body can heal. Despite everything he has endured, Muffin continues to show the resilience that kittens are known for. Safe at last, he is finally receiving the compassion and care that has been missing from his young life. No kitten should ever know this kind of suffering. Your donation today will help provide the lifesaving veterinary care Muffin urgently needs—from hospitalization and antibiotics to surgery and follow-up treatment. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings this brave little survivor one step closer to a future free from pain. Please help give Muffin the chance to heal, recover, and experience what every kitten deserves: safety, love, and a life where the only thing around his neck is the gentle touch of someone who cares.

Parmesan

Blind But Not Broken

Perryville, MO • Bichon Rescue Brigade

Sweet Parmesan has already beaten the odds. After leaving the overcrowded Downey Shelter in Southern California before being considered for euthanasia, this tiny senior Maltese finally found safety with Bichon Rescue Brigade. But while he escaped the shelter, his journey to good health was only beginning. Parmesan arrived with multiple serious medical concerns, including a heart murmur, severe vision impairment, painful dental disease, anemia, electrolyte imbalances, and chronic dry eye disease. Despite everything he’d endured, his gentle, loving personality never wavered. Everyone who meets him says the same thing— he is unbelievably sweet. His veterinary team immediately got to work. Parm has been diagnosed with immune-mediated dry eye, a lifelong condition that will require daily medication to keep him comfortable. Parmesan also underwent dental surgery to give him a fresh start. Years of advanced periodontal disease had caused severe gum recession, and veterinarians had no choice but to remove six painful teeth to relieve his suffering. Although his surgeries went well, there are still challenges ahead. Veterinarians have confirmed that Parmesan has no vision, and he will need ongoing monitoring of his eyes, repeat bloodwork to evaluate mildly elevated liver enzymes, lifelong eye medication, and continued follow-up care as he adjusts to his new life. So far, Parmesan’s medical care has already exceeded $1,200, and his journey isn’t over yet. After everything he’s been through, Parmesan deserves the chance to spend his golden years free from pain, surrounded by love instead of uncertainty. Your donation will help cover his surgeries, medications, follow-up appointments, diagnostics, and the continued veterinary care he needs to stay healthy and comfortable.

From Junkyard Survivor to Diabetes Fighter: Help Finn Heal

CLEWISTON, FL • Clewiston Friends of Animals, Inc

When Finn was trapped at a junkyard colony in March, everyone believed he would simply be another trap-neuter-return cat. But the moment rescuers from Clewiston Friends of Animals, Inc. saw him, they knew his story would be different. Finn's fragile body told the story of a cat who had suffered for far too long. He was covered in painful, severe mange, his eyes were infected, and open wounds covered his skin. He was far too sick to undergo surgery, so instead of returning him to the colony, his rescue team focused on giving him something he had likely never known before: safety, comfort, and medical care. By the very next morning, Finn surprised everyone. Rather than the fearful feral cat they expected, he revealed himself to be incredibly affectionate, gentle, and grateful to finally be safe indoors. It didn't take long for him to capture everyone's hearts. Over the following months, Finn made remarkable progress. His skin healed, his wounds disappeared, and he was finally healthy enough to be neutered. During his recovery, veterinarians also discovered that Finn is FIV-positive. Knowing he would be much safer living indoors, his rescuers made the decision that he would never have to return to the junkyard. Instead, Finn settled into the indoor life he clearly adored while patiently waiting for the loving family he deserves. Just as his future was beginning to look bright, another devastating setback struck. Finn suddenly became lethargic, began vomiting, and stopped acting like himself. He was rushed to the emergency veterinarian, where diagnostic testing revealed his blood sugar had skyrocketed to over 600 and ketones were present—a life-threatening diabetic crisis. As if that weren't enough, Finn was also diagnosed with pancreatitis, a painful condition requiring immediate treatment. Finn was hospitalized right away and is expected to remain under intensive veterinary care for several days while doctors work to stabilize both his diabetes and pancreatitis. He is receiving IV fluids, antibiotics, medications, and around-the-clock monitoring to give him the best chance at recovery. Once he is stable enough to return to his foster home, Finn will require lifelong insulin therapy, a prescription diet, and careful monitoring to keep his diabetes under control. While this diagnosis will change his daily routine, it doesn't change who Finn is—a resilient, loving cat who has already overcome so much. Clewiston Friends of Animals, Inc. needs help to cover Finn's hospitalization and lifesaving medical care. Every donation, no matter the size, helps ensure Finn can continue receiving the treatment he needs without delay. Finn has already survived life in a junkyard, conquered severe illness, and learned to trust again. With your support, this brave boy can overcome one more challenge and continue his journey toward the happy, healthy life he's fought so hard to find.

Help Michelin Get the Amputation That Will End His Pain

Fort Worth, TX • Murdock’s Mission

Michelin should be spending his kittenhood chasing toys, climbing cat trees, and discovering the world. Instead, he's spent most of his young life living with pain. When Michelin was just 6 weeks old, he suffered an injury that led to a severe abscess in his tiny elbow. Despite receiving treatment, the infection destroyed the joint, leaving his leg permanently damaged. There was simply no way to save it. The only option left is amputation. Until now, Michelin has been too small to safely undergo surgery. But at 4 months old, he has finally grown enough to take the next step toward the future he's been waiting for. Although life hasn't been easy, Michelin has never let his injury define him. He remains an incredibly sweet, resilient little kitten who deserves the chance to grow up without constant discomfort. Murdock's Mission is ready to give Michelin that chance. Your donation will help cover the cost of his amputation, surgery, pain management, and post-operative care so Michelin can finally leave his painful past behind and begin living the carefree life every kitten deserves. Every gift, no matter the size, brings Michelin one step closer to healing—and one giant leap closer to running, playing, and simply being a kitten. If you're unable to donate, sharing Michelin's story is another wonderful way to help him find the support he needs. Thank you for helping give this brave little boy the second chance he deserves. 8/13/26 Update: Michelin is Recovering After Surgery Michelin has made it through his amputation and neuter and is now recovering with his rescue team at Murdock's Mission. A video has been added to the campaign photo carousel showing Michelin during his recovery. While he still has healing ahead of him, seeing this sweet boy moving forward after everything he's endured is an encouraging step in his journey. Michelin's surgery and veterinary care gave him the chance to leave his painful past behind and begin healing. Thanks to everyone who has supported Michelin's journey so far! Although his surgery is now behind him, the cost of the veterinary care he needed remains, along with the expenses of his recovery. Continued donations are greatly appreciated and will help Murdock's Mission cover these costs as Michelin recovers. For Michelin, recovery is just the beginning. Continued support will help Murdock's Mission give him the care and comfort he needs as he moves toward a brighter future. Thank you for standing behind Michelin and helping give this sweet boy the chance to keep moving forward. ❤️

Hit by a Car at Just Five Months Old: Pontoon Boat Needs Your Help to Walk Again

Middle village, NY • PuppyKittyNYCity

At just five months old, Pontoon Boat should be chasing toys and exploring the world—not fighting to recover from devastating injuries. This sweet kitten was found alone in a yard in Queens after being struck by a car. A compassionate Good Samaritan rushed him to Puppy Kitty NYCity, where it quickly became clear that his injuries were far more severe than anyone had hoped. Emergency X-rays revealed heartbreaking trauma. Pontoon Boat suffered a displaced fracture of his left femur, multiple pelvic fractures, and a left sacroiliac luxation that left him unable to properly use his back legs. He was also found to have blood in his urine, significant bruising, and swelling from the impact. Despite everything he has endured, Pontoon Boat has remained incredibly brave throughout his hospitalization. He has already undergone emergency diagnostics, pain management, and around-the-clock supportive care, but his journey is far from over. Veterinary specialists have determined that he urgently needs orthopedic surgery to repair his shattered leg and stabilize his injuries, giving him the best chance at living a normal, pain-free life. PuppyKitty NYC is committed to giving Pontoon Boat every opportunity to heal, but lifesaving orthopedic surgery is costly. As a nonprofit rescue, they rely on the generosity of animal lovers to provide advanced medical care for kittens like him who have nowhere else to turn. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings Pontoon Boat one step closer to recovery. Your kindness will help cover the cost of his surgery, hospitalization, pain management, and the specialized care he needs to walk, run, and enjoy the happy future every kitten deserves. Please consider making a gift today. Together, we can help Pontoon Boat leave this tragic accident behind and begin the healthy, joyful life he's been waiting for. 8/8/26 Update Sweet Pontoon Boat is recovering well after the devastating injuries he suffered when he was hit by a car. This brave little boy has come so far, and now he's ready for the next important step in his recovery. Today, Pontoon Boat is starting his day hoping someone will say, “I’ll foster him.” 🥹 He needs a loving foster home where he can continue healing in a safe, comfortable environment with plenty of care and attention. Even a temporary foster home could make a tremendous difference for this sweet kitten. And there’s more good news—we’re so close to reaching Pontoon Boat’s fundraising goal! Every donation helps us get closer to covering the lifesaving care he has already received and helps PuppyKitty NYCity continue saying yes to the next animal who needs help. 💙 Can you help Pontoon Boat finish his journey to recovery? Matilda

Abandoned and Injured, Matilda Still Has Hope

Eagan, MN • Upper Midwest Great Dane Rescue

Matilda should never have been left to suffer alone. She was found wandering a rural gravel road near Bethany, Missouri, painfully underweight and unable to use one of her front legs. Her ankle is severely swollen, frozen in place, and contracted from what appears to be an old injury that was never treated. Every step she takes is a reminder of the pain she has been forced to endure. A local canine officer safely secured Matilda and cared for her because the small local pound was unable to comfortably accommodate a dog of her size. It also appeared that Matilda had given birth to multiple litters of puppies during her life. After years spent caring for others, she was left alone when she needed help the most. Although a nearby resident believed they knew where she came from, the suspected owners denied that she belonged to them. Her full story may never be known, but it is heartbreakingly clear that she was abandoned. Now safe with Upper Midwest Great Dane Rescue, Matilda is finally receiving the love and compassion she has always deserved. Despite everything she has been through, she has remained incredibly gentle, affectionate, and trusting. She has settled into her foster home beautifully and is soaking up every bit of kindness she's offered. But Matilda's journey to recovery is only beginning. She urgently needs to see a veterinary orthopedic specialist, undergo advanced imaging to determine the extent of the damage, and receive specialized surgery. At this point, her medical team does not yet know if her leg can be repaired or if amputation will be the best option to give her a comfortable, pain free life. Your donation will help cover Matilda's specialist consultation, diagnostic imaging, surgery, medications, follow up care, spay, and vaccinations. After everything Matilda has endured, she deserves the chance to leave her pain behind and finally experience the happy, healthy future she's been waiting for. Please consider making a donation to help give this sweet girl the second chance she so deserves. 8/1/26 Update As Matilda underwent her veterinary evaluation, her medical team uncovered additional concerns that no one was expecting. In addition to the severe orthopedic issues affecting her front leg, veterinarians discovered an abdominal mass, a possible mammary tumor, and that Matilda is anemic. Right now, her doctors are focused on keeping her comfortable, managing her pain, and closely monitoring her bloodwork in hopes that her anemia will improve enough for surgery. Matilda's front leg has likely never functioned normally, either because of a birth defect or an injury she suffered very early in life. Because Great Danes carry most of their weight on their front limbs, relying almost entirely on one healthy front leg for so long has placed tremendous strain on the rest of her body. That extra stress is now affecting her remaining front leg as well as her spine, making her mobility even more challenging. If her bloodwork improves as hoped, Matilda is expected to undergo exploratory abdominal surgery during the second week of August. This procedure will help her veterinary team determine the cause of the abdominal mass and develop the best treatment plan for her moving forward. Despite everything she's facing, Matilda hasn't lost her gentle spirit. She continues to greet everyone with kindness, soaking up affection and reminding everyone around her just how resilient she is. Her road to recovery has become longer than anyone anticipated, but Upper Midwest Great Dane Rescue is committed to giving her every chance at a comfortable, happy future. Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared Matilda's story, and kept her in your thoughts. Your support is helping provide the specialized care she needs as her team works to uncover answers and give this sweet girl the second chance she deserves. 8/9/26 Update We don’t have a new medical update to share on Matilda just yet, but we did recently get a small glimpse of her life in the care of Upper Midwest Great Dane Rescue. Matilda received some new presents, including a comfortable bed and toys of her own. They may seem like simple things, but for a dog who was found abandoned, severely underweight, struggling to walk, and facing multiple serious medical concerns, having a soft place to rest and a few things to call her own means a little more. Matilda’s last evaluation revealed that her medical situation was far more complicated than originally expected. In addition to the severe orthopedic condition affecting her front leg, her vets discovered an abdominal mass, a possible mammary tumor, and anemia. Her medical team is closely monitoring her bloodwork while working to determine when she will be stable enough to move forward with additional procedures. Her new bed and toys don’t erase the serious challenges she is facing, but they can make the difficult days a little more comfortable. Thank you to everyone who has donated to Matilda’s fundraiser so far and has helped make her care possible. With multiple medical concerns requiring veterinary attention, Matilda’s journey is far from simple, and your support continues to be incredibly important. We hope to have more information about her medical progress soon. In the meantime, thank you for continuing to stand behind Matilda as she faces whatever comes next. 8/14/26 Update We have some wonderful news to share about Matilda! She is home, and her first surgery went smoothly! One of the biggest concerns was a possible mass that had been discovered during her earlier evaluation. Thankfully, there is now some very reassuring news: no mass was found, and there is no cancer. Instead, it was determined that one of Matilda’s kidneys is slightly enlarged and positioned higher in her abdomen than expected. This will need to be monitored moving forward, but everyone is incredibly relieved that the frightening possibility of cancer has been ruled out. There is more good news, too. Her bloodwork and anemia are improving with regular meals and proper nutrition, and she continues to get stronger as her body recovers. And while Matilda has been recovering, she has made a very special new friend named Six! There may be quite a size difference between the two, but that certainly hasn’t stopped them from becoming best buddies. Six may be tiny, but she has a big personality and has no problem keeping up with Matilda. The two spend their days playing together, sharing toys, curling up in the same bed, and keeping each other company. Six has even figured out that climbing onto the recliner gives her a little height advantage during playtime! Watching their friendship develop has been such a sweet part of Matilda’s recovery, and having a little companion around seems to be making her time at home that much more enjoyable. There are still some decisions to be made about what comes next for Matilda’s leg and a few of her other medical needs, so her journey isn’t over just yet. For now, though, she is back home where she belongs, resting comfortably, enjoying her new bed, toys, and treats, and spending plenty of time with her new best friend Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, shared Matilda’s fundraiser, sent something special, or simply followed along and rooted for her. Your support is helping make each step of her recovery possible, and we’ll continue to share updates as her veterinary team determines what comes next.

Help Benny’s Broken Leg

Carlsbad, CA • Super B Foundation

Benny is only four months old, but he’s already endured more pain than any puppy ever should. This sweet little boy arrived at an overcrowded California shelter over 4th of July weekend as a stray with a badly broken leg. Alone, frightened, and injured, Benny faced an uncertain future in a shelter where resources are stretched thin and time is never on a vulnerable puppy’s side. Thankfully, Super B Foundation stepped in before it was too late and Benny was immediately evaluated by a veterinarian. For the next three weeks, Benny must remain as still as possible in a cast—a nearly impossible task for a playful, growing puppy. After that, he’ll return for repeat X-rays to see if the bone is healing correctly. Every two weeks he needs to have his bandages redone and be checked for pressure sores - costing the rescue $600 each visit. If his leg isn’t improving, amputation may be his only option. No matter what the next X-rays reveal, Benny’s journey isn’t over. He will need ongoing veterinary care, follow-up appointments, pain management, and careful monitoring until his leg has fully healed and he’s finally able to run and play like every puppy deserves. Your donation will help cover Benny’s exams, X-rays, medications, cast care, and any surgery he may need if his leg doesn’t heal properly. After everything he’s been through, Benny needs a community willing to stand beside him. Please help Benny heal so this brave little puppy can leave his painful past behind and look forward to a future filled with long walks, squeaky toys, and a loving family. Every gift, no matter the size, brings him one step closer to a full recovery.

Stewie

From Broken Bones to Brighter Days

Perryville, MO • Bichon Rescue Brigade

Just days ago, Stewie was on the euthanasia list at California's overcrowded Devore County Animal Shelter. At only two years old, this tiny pup was facing euthanasia while suffering in silence with a devastating broken leg and hip pain. When Bichon Rescue Brigade learned about Stewie, they knew they couldn't let his story end behind shelter walls. His life had been spared but his battle was only beginning. Veterinarians discovered Stewie had a severely displaced fracture of his left femur. During surgery, they made another heartbreaking discovery: the injury was older than anyone realized. Scar tissue and granulation had already formed around the broken bone, meaning Stewie had likely been living in excruciating pain for much longer than anyone knew. The rescue was given a choice - pay less for a complete leg amputation or pay more to save the leg. To give him the best chance at a pain-free future, BRB opted to save his leg and surgeons performed an extensive orthopedic procedure. They cleaned away damaged tissue, repaired the fracture with a specialized locking bone plate, and performed a femoral head ostectomy (FHO) to restore his mobility. Thanks to his veterinary team, the surgery was a success and Stewie is now on the long road to recovery. For the next two months, Stewie must remain on strict crate rest with no running, jumping, long walks, or rough play while his body heals. He will need ongoing pain medication, follow-up appointments, X-rays, and careful rehabilitation to ensure his leg heals properly. Bichon Rescue Brigade gave Stewie the chance to leave the euthanasia list behind and begin a new life filled with hope instead of pain. Now they need our help to give him every opportunity to fully recover. The rescue fought to save his leg even though that meant a much larger bill. Your donation will go directly toward Stewie's surgeries, ongoing treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery. Every gift, no matter the size, helps ensure this sweet little survivor can heal, find a loving home, and finally experience the carefree life every dog deserves.

Help Kaina Leave Suffering Behind

Burnsville, MN • Baw Baw Animal Welfare

Kaina has been through far more than any animal should ever have to endure. When Baw Baw Animal Welfare rescued Kaina, it was clear that this sweet soul was in desperate need of help. Large patches of fur were missing, his skin was painfully inflamed, and Kaina had stopped eating. Severe diarrhea had left this fragile animal weak and dehydrated, and even more concerning, there is a suspected spinal injury that may be causing pain every time Kaina tries to move. Right now, Kaina’s veterinary team is working to uncover the full extent of the damage. Blood tests are being performed to identify any underlying illness while IV fluids, antibiotics, vitamins, and supportive care help stabilize this brave fighter and give the body a chance to recover. But this is only the beginning. Kaina’s treatment plan will depend on the test results, and additional care may be needed to address the possible spinal injury. Kaina has finally found safety, but healing comes at a cost. Your donation today can help provide the diagnostics, medications, and ongoing veterinary care needed to give Kaina the best possible chance at recovery. Every gift, no matter the size, brings Kaina one step closer to a future free from pain, fear, and suffering. 8/2/26 Update It is with great sadness that we share that Kaina has passed away. When Kaina first arrived at the veterinary hospital, it was clear he had been suffering for a long time. He was battling extensive hair loss (alopecia), severe dermatitis, persistent diarrhea, and complete loss of appetite. His body was weak, dehydrated, and struggling to fight back. With so many serious medical conditions occurring at once, his immune system had become severely compromised, making recovery incredibly difficult. Our veterinary team immediately began supportive treatment, including diagnostics, IV fluids, medications, vitamins, and intensive nursing care, hoping to stabilize him and uncover the underlying cause of his illness. Despite everyone's best efforts, Kaina's condition continued to deteriorate.Sadly, his fragile body could not overcome the severity of his illness, and he passed away. Losing Kaina is heartbreaking. We had hoped to give him the chance to recover and experience the healthy, happy life every animal deserves. Instead, we find comfort in knowing that his final days were spent surrounded by compassionate people who treated him with dignity, kindness, and love. He no longer had to suffer alone. To everyone who donated, shared Kaina's story, and kept him in your thoughts, thank you. Your generosity ensured that Kaina received veterinary care, comfort, and every possible chance to fight for his life. Although we couldn't change his outcome, we were able to change how his story ended—with compassion instead of neglect. From all of us at Baw Baw Animal Welfare, thank you for standing beside Kaina during his final journey. He will always be remembered, and his life mattered. Run free, sweet Kaina. You are deeply loved and will never be forgotten. ❤️

Oreo, Nutterbutter, & Nabisco need your help.

Hawthorne, NJ • A Pathway to Hope

A Pathway to Hope received another emergency call for a cat family during one of their events. This is what rescue looks like. It’s not planned or convenient. It’s saying yes on one of the busiest days of the year, knowing that if you say no, they have no other chance… and having faith in YOU — our incredible rescue community. Only about a week old, Oreo’s eyes were barely open, and she already had to fight to survive. Beside her was her orange brother, Nabisco, and their mama. As a newborn kitten, Oreo had a devastating umbilical cord injury. They learned the next day that the owner wanted to surrender the mom and the remaining kitten. Tragically, two kittens had already passed away. And then things got worse. Oreo’s tiny foot detached due to the severity of the injury. She is now on antibiotics and under medical care. She will need a full leg amputation once she is older and strong enough for surgery. At the same time, we are caring for dozens of new cats and kittens, beyond capacity. But emergencies can’t wait. So we said yes. Thankfully, Oreo, Nabisco, and their mama are now safe in the hands of an incredible foster who stepped up immediately to help this fragile little family. Right now, they need your help—every donation you make today will help cover the skyrocketing medical bills for this family and so many others already depending on this rescue team. If you’ve ever thought about helping, this is one of those moments where it truly matters. Thank you for your support!

Help Yogi Recover After Life-Saving Amputation

Oxnard, CA • Paw Works Animal Rescue

Yogi, his mom, and his siblings were abandoned in a McDonald’s parking lot in Barstow when the puppies were only a few days old. Even from a distance, it was clear something wasn’t right. Several puppies appeared to have injuries to their ears and toes, but Yogi’s condition was far more severe. We were initially told he had a simple laceration on his front leg. Unfortunately, veterinary exams revealed multiple fractures, extensive tissue damage, and infection. At only 2 weeks old we knew amputation right away would likely result in him passing away so we immediately put him on antibiotics, wound cleanings and close monitoring with 2 vet checks weekly. Our goal was to get him to 1lb as we knew the surgery had to happen as soon as possible, but wanted him to be at a more substantial weight to give him the best chance possible. His foster worked around the clock with supplemental feedings to be sure he was getting as much food as possible as his siblings unintentionally would push him to the side. We knew early on he was a determined and strong little guy and with every ounce gained we got closer and closer to surgery day. Finally, our vet gave him the all clear, Yogi officially had his amputation. The surgery was successful with no complications! Yogi showed us how resilient animals truly are and for the past two weeks has been working hard with his foster family through physical therapy, learning how to walk, run and even play with his siblings now that he is fully healed! His journey has just begun, he is still learning how to adapt and will soon be looking for a special home of his own, but right now we need the help to raise the funds to cover his procedure. His current balance due is $1986.81 for his life changing procedure. We are so optimistic for this brave boys future!

Tortellini's bones were so underdeveloped they became brittle and broke from malnutrition.

Hawthorne, NJ • A Pathway to Hope

This tiny kitten, now named Tortellini, was found dragging herself through the streets. At just 2.5 pounds at 4 months old, Tortellini should be playing as every kitten deserves. Instead, she had to fight pain just to move. Yet, she still tried to drag herself to safety, never losing her will to live. Tortellini was brought to Bond Vet in a box. At first, it was feared she had been hit by a car. But after examining her, the devoted veterinary team discovered something even more shocking. Tortellini is severely malnourished, with multiple old fractures and broken bones throughout her tiny body. Her legs are bowed, having never developed properly, likely due to profound nutritional deficiencies during the most critical stages of her growth. Her medical team immediately fell in love with this sweet soul, determined to give her the best chance to live, and reached out to A Pathway to Hope for help. They are urgently arranging advanced testing through Michigan State University and an appointment with an internal medicine specialist to determine what can be done to give this precious girl the chance at the life she's never had. Jerry Jumped From an Open Window—Now He's Fighting to Heal

Middle village, NY • PuppyKittyNYCity

Jerry's new life had barely begun. Just 30 minutes after arriving at his foster home with PuppyKittyNYCity, this sweet cat did what so many frightened or curious cats do in an unfamiliar environment—he found an open window and jumped. It happened in an instant. Instead of settling into the safety he had been waiting for, Jerry suffered a devastating fall that left him with multiple fractures and a completely dislocated wrist. What should have been the first day of a new beginning quickly became a medical emergency. Jerry was rushed to the veterinary hospital, where specialists determined that he needs emergency orthopedic surgery to repair his injuries. Without surgery, Jerry could face lifelong pain, permanent mobility issues, and a much lower quality of life. His veterinary team is hopeful that with prompt treatment, he has an excellent chance of getting back on his paws and living the happy, pain-free life he deserves. Unfortunately, the estimated cost of Jerry's surgery and medical care is approximately $8,000. No rescue ever expects an emergency like this, but PuppyKittyNYCity refuses to let finances determine whether an animal receives lifesaving care. Jerry has already survived the fall. Now he needs the surgery that will give him the opportunity to heal. Jerry's heartbreaking accident is also an important reminder for every foster and adopter. Before bringing a new cat home, every window should be securely screened or kept completely closed. Cats can react in seconds, especially during those first stressful hours in a new environment. While accidents can happen to anyone, taking this simple precaution can save a life. Today, we're asking for your help. Your donation will go directly toward Jerry's emergency orthopedic surgery, hospitalization, pain management, diagnostic imaging, and follow-up care as he begins the long road to recovery. Every dollar brings him one step closer to walking comfortably again. If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing Jerry's story. Together, we can give him the second chance he was so close to having. Please donate today and help Jerry get back on his paws. 7/23/26 Update We are so relieved to share that Jerry has made it through his orthopedic surgery and is now beginning the road to recovery. After his devastating fall from an open window, Jerry underwent the complex surgery he desperately needed to repair his multiple fractures and severely dislocated wrist. Thanks to the incredible veterinary team caring for him, the procedure went well, and Jerry is now resting comfortably as he starts the healing process. While we're celebrating this important milestone, Jerry's journey is far from over. His recovery will require weeks of careful monitoring, pain management, follow-up appointments, activity restrictions, and ongoing veterinary care to give his leg the best chance to heal properly. Thankfully, despite everything he's been through, Jerry is in good spirits. One of his favorite parts of recovery has been enjoying Puddy Pops from Wuerva, which always seem to brighten his day and make the healing process just a little easier. Although the surgery is behind him, the financial burden remains. Jerry's emergency orthopedic procedure and hospitalization came with an estimated cost of $8,000—an expense no rescue can prepare for. PuppyKittyNYCity made the decision to move forward immediately because waiting was never an option, but they still need the community's help to cover the cost of saving Jerry's leg and giving him the future he deserves. Every donation, no matter the amount, goes directly toward paying for Jerry's emergency surgery, hospitalization, medications, diagnostic imaging, and continued follow-up care. Your generosity ensures that PuppyKittyNYCity can continue saying "yes" when the next animal faces an unexpected medical crisis. Please consider making a donation today to help cover Jerry's lifesaving surgery and recovery. Every gift brings us one step closer to paying off his medical bill and allows PuppyKittyNYCity to continue providing lifesaving care to cats like Jerry when they need it most.

Jimmy Survived the Streets—Now He Needs a Chance to Survive This Tumor

Houston, TX • ThisIsHouston

For days, Jimmy wandered the streets carrying an enormous tumor on his neck.People spotted him but couldn't get close enough to help. Every day he remained out there, he was forced to live with the weight, discomfort, and uncertainty of a mass that continued to grow while he fought simply to survive. When ThisIsHouston learned about Jimmy's heartbreaking condition, volunteers immediately began searching for him. After an entire weekend of efforts, and with the incredible assistance of the Houston Police Department Northeast Division, Jimmy was finally brought to safety and rushed straight to the emergency hospital. For the first time in who knows how long, Jimmy no longer has to face this alone. Now the search for answers has begun. Veterinarians immediately performed an aspirate of the large mass on Jimmy's neck, which revealed round cells. While doctors suspect it could be a transmissible venereal tumor (TVT) or a plasmacytoma, it's too soon to know for certain. Jimmy still needs extensive diagnostics, including bloodwork, heartworm testing, fecal testing, a tear test, and skin cytology, so his veterinary team can determine exactly what they're dealing with and how best to help him. Right now, even the first 48 hours of diagnostics carry an estimated cost of $915 to $1,657—and that's before any treatment, chemotherapy, surgery, or additional medical care he may need once a diagnosis is confirmed. Despite everything he's endured, Jimmy is finally safe. He no longer has to search for food while carrying a massive tumor or wonder where he'll sleep each night. Instead, he has a team of people determined to fight for him and give him every opportunity to heal. Dogs like Jimmy are so often overlooked because their medical needs are overwhelming. But at ThisIsHouston, we believe every life is worth fighting for, no matter how difficult the road ahead may be. Your donation today will help provide Jimmy with the diagnostics, treatment, and lifesaving medical care he desperately needs. Every dollar brings him one step closer to answers, relief from pain, and the future he has always deserved. Please donate today and help us give Jimmy the second chance he's been waiting for. 7/16/26 Update We have a major update on Jimmy, and thanks to your support, it's one we've been hoping to share. Jimmy has officially made it through surgery. We received the call from his surgeon and while the procedure was long and far more complicated than anyone anticipated, Jimmy did incredibly well. Once surgeons began operating, they discovered the massive tumor had an extensive blood supply and was tightly intertwined with the surrounding tissues. Removing it safely was an enormous challenge. Thankfully, the surgical team was able to preserve both Jimmy's jugular vein and another major vein that drains his shoulder. Because the tumor was so deeply attached, some surrounding muscle had to be removed to ensure the mass could be excised completely. During surgery, Jimmy's red blood cell count dropped, requiring a blood transfusion. His heart rate also became a concern at one point, but thanks to the team's quick intervention, he remained stable. By the end of surgery, his red blood cell count had returned to where it was before the procedure. The mass has now been sent to a laboratory for biopsy, and we expect results within the next 7–10 days. Incredibly, the tumor weighed 5.3 pounds. Just imagine carrying the weight of a bowling ball attached to your neck every single day. Because of your generosity, Jimmy never has to carry that burden again. The team also placed a surgical drain to aid his recovery, and while he was already under anesthesia, Jimmy was neutered as well—one more important step toward a healthier future. As Jimmy was waking up from anesthesia, he regurgitated and was placed on supplemental oxygen as a precaution. Thankfully, his oxygen levels have remained excellent at 99–100%, and his veterinary team is slowly weaning him off the oxygen while monitoring him closely over the next couple of days. Jimmy still has a road ahead of him. He needs continued hospitalization, pain management, medications, careful monitoring, and we're all anxiously awaiting the biopsy results that will determine what comes next. Thank you for standing beside Jimmy through every step of this journey. Your kindness made this lifesaving surgery possible, and because of you, he now has the chance to heal. Please continue to keep Jimmy in your thoughts as he recovers, and if you're able, consider making a donation to help cover his ongoing medical care as we await the next chapter in his story. 7/26/26 Update We finally received the biopsy results from the massive 5.3-pound tumor that was removed from Jimmy's neck. Unfortunately, instead of providing the clear answers we were hoping for, the results have left us with more questions. The biopsy confirmed the presence of mast cells, but the pathologist was unable to definitively identify the type of cancer Jimmy is battling. To get the answers he desperately needs, additional specialized stains have now been sent to a reference laboratory, with results expected to take another two to three weeks. At this point, Jimmy's veterinary team is considering several possible diagnoses, including a plasma cell tumor, transmissible venereal tumor (TVT), mast cell tumor, or lymphoma. Each of these cancers carries a very different prognosis and requires a completely different treatment plan, making an accurate diagnosis absolutely critical before moving forward. Rather than losing precious time while we wait, Jimmy's oncologist recommended beginning a treatment trial with L-asparaginase (L-spar), which Jimmy received today. If the medication reduces the amount of fluid draining from his surgical site and improves the condition of his skin, it could provide an important clue that lymphoma is the underlying cause. Jimmy's medical team is also concerned that his surgical drain continues to produce more fluid than expected. To ensure nothing is being overlooked, they've submitted a sample for bacterial culture to rule out a possible infection. We know this isn't the update everyone was hoping for. We wanted answers. We wanted certainty. Instead, we're facing another stretch of waiting while Jimmy continues to receive the specialized care he needs. But one thing hasn't changed: our commitment to this incredible dog. Jimmy survived life on the streets carrying a tumor that weighed more than five pounds. He endured major surgery, a blood transfusion, and a difficult recovery. Now he's facing another hurdle, and we refuse to stop fighting for him. Every new test, consultation, lab analysis, medication, and day of hospitalization brings additional medical costs, but we're determined to keep moving forward until Jimmy finally has the answers—and treatment—he deserves. If you've been following Jimmy's journey, please consider making another donation today. Your support is what made his lifesaving surgery possible, and it's what will allow us to continue pursuing a diagnosis and providing the specialized care he urgently needs. No matter what the final diagnosis reveals, we want Jimmy to have every opportunity to fight for the future he's waited so long to have. Please donate today and help us continue Jimmy's fight. Every gift, no matter the size, brings him one step closer to healing. 8/2/26 Update Jimmy has been doing so great! He had a recheck with both his oncologist and surgeon this week. His incision has healed well so his staples were removed. They were happy with how everything looked— there’s no redness, discharge, swelling or signs of infection. While his skin is still pretty flaky, he doesn’t appear to have an active infection so for now, we’ll continue using a medicated mousse until he’s able to have medicated baths. His lymph nodes are still mildly enlarged but have gotten slightly smaller and his skin looks calmer than before. Based on his improvement after the L-Spar treatment last week, his oncologist feels much more confident that Jimmy has cutaneous lymphoma but we’re still waiting on stain results from his biopsy to confirm a diagnosis. Jimmy started treatment with CCNU, an oral chemo medication he’ll receive once every three weeks. Most dogs respond well to chemo, but prognosis is about 6 months. Cutaneous lymphoma would be responsible for Jimmy’s widespread skin changes and flakiness. These issues may not completely resolve because they’re part of the cancer itself. but for now we’re hopeful Jimmy responds well to treatment and continues feeling better

Albert Has Suffered Long Enough—Help Him Finally Heal

WHITESTONE, NY • NYC Second Chance Rescue

When Albert arrived at NYC Second Chance Rescue, it was impossible to ignore the pain he had been carrying for far too long. Hidden beneath years of severe matting and neglect was a dog who had been silently suffering. As veterinarians carefully examined him, they uncovered one heartbreaking medical issue after another. Albert has painful ulcers in both eyes that make every blink uncomfortable. He is also battling a severe bacterial and yeast skin infection that has left his skin inflamed and irritated. On top of that, he has a heart murmur and bloodwork showing multiple concerning abnormalities, including elevated liver values, mildly elevated kidney values, inflammation throughout his body, electrolyte imbalances, and a borderline low thyroid level. While we're grateful that testing ruled out tick-borne diseases and intestinal parasites, doctors know there is still much more to uncover. They are now concerned that an underlying condition—such as Cushing's disease or hypothyroidism—may be contributing to everything Albert is facing. The next step is a comprehensive abdominal ultrasound to evaluate his liver, kidneys, adrenal glands, and other vital organs so his veterinary team can determine exactly what is causing these abnormalities and create the treatment plan he desperately needs. The good news is that Albert hasn't given up. Despite everything he has endured, he continues to eat well, accepts the care he's receiving, and greets his rescuers with a gentle, loving spirit that shines through his pain. Soon, we hope to move him into a dedicated medical foster home where he can continue healing surrounded by comfort, patience, and love. For the first time in what may be years, Albert finally has people fighting for him. Now he needs a community willing to stand beside him. Your donation will help provide the diagnostics, medications, veterinary care, and ongoing treatment Albert needs to finally get answers—and, most importantly, a chance to live a life free from constant pain. Albert has spent far too long suffering in silence. Together, we can give him the future he has always deserved. Please donate today and help Albert continue his journey toward healing. Every gift, no matter the size, brings him one step closer to a healthier, happier life. 7/23/26 Update Albert recently underwent an echocardiogram, which revealed valve regurgitation on both sides of his heart. While that diagnosis may sound frightening, there is good news: his atrial valves are not enlarged, which means his heart is compensating well. At this time, his cardiology team has determined that he does not need heart medication, and they will continue to monitor his condition. His abdominal ultrasound also brought a wave of relief. The scan showed mostly age-related changes, and veterinarians have officially ruled out Cushing's disease—one of the biggest concerns they had when Albert first arrived. The only significant finding was an enlarged prostate, which will be addressed during his upcoming neuter surgery. Additional testing confirmed that Albert has hypothyroidism, and he has now started medication to help regulate his thyroid levels. With treatment, his veterinary team is hopeful this will improve many of the symptoms that have been affecting his overall health. Tomorrow marks another important milestone in Albert's recovery. He is scheduled to undergo both his neuter surgery and a much-needed dental procedure to relieve the years of pain caused by neglected teeth. Because these procedures require an extended period under anesthesia, his veterinarians will wait another one to two weeks before bringing him back to receive his vaccines, allowing his body time to recover safely. While Albert still has a journey ahead of him, today's update is filled with cautious optimism. Every diagnostic test has brought valuable answers, allowing his veterinary team to develop the best possible treatment plan. For the first time in a long time, Albert isn't just surviving—he's finally getting the care he has always deserved. Thank you for standing by Albert throughout his recovery. If you're able, please consider making a donation to help cover his ongoing medical care, medications, follow-up appointments, and recovery. Every contribution helps give Albert the healthy, comfortable future he's waited so long to experience. 8/5/26 Update When Albert first arrived in our care, his condition was heartbreaking. Years of neglect had left him painfully matted and suffering from a long list of untreated medical issues. He was diagnosed with painful ulcers in both eyes, a severe bacterial and yeast skin infection, a heart murmur, elevated liver and kidney values, inflammatory changes, electrolyte imbalances, and other concerning abnormalities that required extensive diagnostics and ongoing treatment. Over the weeks that followed, Albert underwent countless veterinary appointments, bloodwork, medications, and specialized care. Every step forward was made possible by the incredible support of this community, which refused to let him continue to suffer. Today, we are overjoyed to share the update we've all been waiting for... Albert has been adopted! This sweet senior finally has a family of his very own, one that saw beyond his medical challenges and chose to give him exactly what he has always deserved: love, comfort, and a place to call home. Albert's journey is proof that rescue changes lives. Because someone chose to adopt, another dog in need now has the opportunity to be saved. Thank you to everyone who donated, shared his story, cheered him on, and believed in him every step of the way. You helped give Albert the happy ending he always deserved. Happy Tails, Albert.

Rocket

Help Rocket Heal After a Devastating Dog Attack

WHITESTONE, NY • NYC Second Chance Rescue

Rocket is just a puppy. She should be spending her days playing, exploring, and discovering the world—not fighting to recover from devastating injuries that no young dog should ever have to endure. Just days ago, Rocket was surrendered to a shelter after suffering for more than 24 hours following a brutal attack by another dog. By the time she arrived, the extent of her injuries was heartbreaking. Her head was severely swollen, covered in multiple puncture wounds, and it was clear she had been living in unimaginable pain. NYC Second Chance Rescue immediately stepped in to give Rocket the emergency care she desperately needed. Although Rocket is now in stable condition, her fight is far from over. She has developed a significant infection from her wounds and remains incredibly weak. While antibiotics are beginning to help combat the infection, Rocket still has very little interest in eating, and her veterinary team is working around the clock to keep her comfortable with aggressive pain management and supportive care. Despite everything she's been through, this brave little puppy continues to fight. Rocket's recovery will require ongoing hospitalization, medications, wound care, diagnostics, and close monitoring as her body heals from the trauma she endured. Your donation will help cover the cost of Rocket's emergency veterinary care and give her the best possible chance at a full recovery. Every dollar directly supports the lifesaving treatment she needs as she continues this difficult journey. If you're unable to donate, sharing Rocket's story is another powerful way to help. Every share gives this resilient puppy the opportunity to reach more compassionate people who want to be part of her recovery. Rocket has already survived the unthinkable. Now she needs all of us standing beside her as she fights toward a future filled with safety, love, and the carefree puppyhood she deserves. Thank you for supporting Rocket and the lifesaving work of NYC Second Chance Rescue. Together, we can help this courageous little girl write a much happier next chapter. 7/22/26 Update We're grateful to share a hopeful update on Rocket's recovery. Since beginning treatment, Rocket has continued to show encouraging signs of improvement. The severe swelling around her head has gone down significantly, and her wounds are responding well to the care she's receiving. While she still has a long road ahead, it's heartening to see her becoming a little brighter and more comfortable with each passing day. Rocket's veterinary team has also received the results of her wound culture, giving them a clearer understanding of the bacteria causing her infection. One of the strongest antibiotics available could be effective but also carries serious risks, including potential kidney damage. Because Rocket has been responding positively to her current treatment plan, her doctors are continuing to monitor her progress closely while carefully weighing the benefits and risks of any changes to her medications. Although these updates are encouraging, Rocket's recovery is far from over. She continues to need ongoing medical care, medications, wound management, and close veterinary supervision to ensure her injuries continue healing and to watch for any complications that could arise during her recovery. Your support is making every step of Rocket's healing journey possible. If you're able, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help cover the cost of her continued veterinary care. Every gift, no matter the size, helps provide the treatment, monitoring, and compassionate care this resilient puppy still needs. If you're unable to donate, sharing Rocket's story is another meaningful way to help. Thank you for standing beside Rocket and NYC Second Chance Rescue as she continues fighting toward the happy, healthy future she deserves. ❤️ 7/26/26 Update Rocket continues to amaze us every single day. We're so happy to share that this resilient little puppy is doing marvelously. Her wounds have healed beautifully, the painful swelling that once covered her head is completely gone, and she's officially graduated from her E-collar! While Rocket is still healing, she's feeling better with each passing day, and her personality is beginning to shine through. Watching her become more comfortable, more curious, and more confident has been incredibly rewarding for everyone who has followed her journey. Seeing Rocket finally getting the chance to simply enjoy life like the puppy she is reminds us why every effort to save her was worth it. We are so grateful to everyone who has donated, shared her story, and kept Rocket in your thoughts. Your compassion has made every milestone in her recovery possible, and she is proof of what can happen when people come together to give an animal a second chance. Rocket still has follow-up veterinary care ahead as she continues her recovery, and NYC Second Chance Rescue is caring for many other animals with urgent medical needs just like hers. If you're able, please consider making a donation today. Your support helps ensure Rocket can continue receiving the care she needs while also giving the next injured animal that arrives at the rescue the same chance to heal. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a lifesaving difference. 8/6/26 Update We have wonderful news to share about Rocket! Just a few weeks ago, Rocket was fighting for her life after suffering a brutal dog attack that left her covered in puncture wounds, battling a severe infection, and in unimaginable pain. Thanks to the incredible care of her veterinary team—and the support of this amazing community—Rocket has made an incredible recovery. Her wounds have healed beautifully, the infection is gone, and she's feeling like the happy puppy she was always meant to be. Even after everything she endured, Rocket never lost her sweet, loving personality, and she quickly won the hearts of everyone who met her. The best news of all? Rocket has officially been adopted into a wonderful forever home! After being medically cleared, she made the journey to New York, where she is now surrounded by a family who will love, protect, and cherish her for the rest of her life. Watching this once-injured puppy begin the next chapter of her life has been the greatest reward we could have hoped for. While we're celebrating Rocket's incredible transformation, we're not quite at the finish line yet. The emergency care that saved her life—including hospitalization, diagnostics, medications, wound treatment, and ongoing veterinary care—came at a significant cost, and we're still working to pay off the remaining medical expenses. If you're able, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help us finish covering Rocket's veterinary bills. Every dollar helps NYC Second Chance Rescue continue saying "yes" to animals facing medical emergencies just like Rocket's.

Penelope Survived Unspeakable Cruelty—Now She Needs Your Help to Heal

Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.

No kitten should ever have to endure what Penelope has been through. This tiny, innocent kitten was found wandering the streets in heartbreaking condition. Her neck was painfully twisted to one side, she could barely walk without stumbling in circles, and both of her eyes had ruptured. It was clear she was suffering immensely and desperately needed help. Thankfully, Paws and Claws Animal Welfare Society refused to look away. Penelope was rushed to the veterinarian, where bloodwork and X-rays revealed the devastating reality of her condition. Her veterinary team believes she suffered severe blunt-force trauma to the head, likely the result of abuse. The injury left her with neurological damage affecting her neck and balance, and a serious infection—combined with the trauma—is believed to have caused the rupture of both of her eyes. Despite everything she has endured, Penelope is still fighting. Right now, she is receiving intensive medical care, including IV fluids to keep her hydrated, vitamin B12 injections to support her recovery, antibiotics to battle the infection, and anti-inflammatory medications to reduce pain and swelling. Her veterinary team is focused on stabilizing her condition before taking the next critical step. Once Penelope is strong enough, she will undergo surgery to remove both of her damaged eyes. Although she will be permanently blind, cats are incredibly resilient, and with proper care, blind cats can live happy, joyful, and fulfilling lives. For Penelope, this surgery represents the beginning of a future without constant pain. She has already survived the unimaginable. Now she deserves the chance to truly live. Your donation will help cover Penelope's emergency diagnostics, hospitalization, medications, surgery, and the ongoing veterinary care she needs to recover. Every dollar brings her one step closer to comfort, healing, and a life where she will never have to suffer alone again. If you're unable to donate, sharing Penelope's story is another powerful way to help. Together, we can show this tiny survivor that the world can still be filled with kindness. Thank you for standing beside Penelope during the fight of her life. Your compassion is giving her the second chance she so desperately deserves. Update 7/14/2026 Penelope is still fighting! Unfortunately due to her condition she is still in the hospital and requires around the clock care from veterinarians. Every day she is getting stronger but this recovery process is not easy. We hope to bring her back to our facility soon so she can recover in a more peaceful environment. We thank you for all the donations thus far and ask you to continue sharing and donating! 7/22/26 Update We're so happy to share an encouraging update on sweet Penelope. After spending time hospitalized receiving around-the-clock veterinary care, Penelope has now returned to Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society, where she is continuing her recovery in a quieter, more comfortable environment. While her journey is far from over, Penelope is making steady progress. She remains on several medications as her veterinary team continues treating her injuries and carefully monitoring her condition. One of the most important goals right now is helping her slowly gain weight and build her strength so she will be healthy and stable enough to undergo the eye surgery she still desperately needs. Perhaps the most heartwarming update is that Penelope's personality is beginning to shine through. Despite everything she has endured, this resilient little kitten has started playing with the shelter volunteers and is becoming more comfortable each day. Watching her discover toys, interact with people, and simply enjoy being a kitten is a beautiful reminder of why every step of her recovery is worth fighting for. Although these milestones are encouraging, Penelope still has a long road ahead. She will continue to need medications, supportive care, good nutrition, and ongoing veterinary monitoring as she prepares for surgery and continues her healing journey. Your generosity has already given Penelope a chance she never would have had on her own. If you're able, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help cover the cost of her continued medical care, upcoming surgery, and recovery. Every contribution brings this brave little girl one step closer to a life free from pain. If you aren't able to donate, sharing Penelope's story is another wonderful way to help. Thank you for standing beside Penelope and helping give this tiny survivor the second chance she so deserves. 7/29/26 Update Sweet Penelope continues to show us just how resilient she truly is. Over the past week, we've started to see small but encouraging improvements. Penelope remains on medication to help manage the neurological damage caused by the severe trauma she endured, including the nerve damage responsible for her head tilt. While she still has a long way to go, we're happy to report that she is beginning to show signs of improvement. Recovery from this type of injury is a slow process, and there is no quick fix. Her veterinary team is continuing to monitor her closely as she heals, and she will likely need ongoing medication, supportive care, and regular veterinary evaluations for quite some time. Every tiny milestone is a victory, and we're celebrating each one alongside her. Despite everything she's been through, Penelope continues to amaze us with her gentle spirit. She has never stopped fighting, and her determination reminds us every day why we refused to give up on her. Your kindness has already made an incredible difference in Penelope's life, but her journey is far from over. The cost of her ongoing medications, follow-up veterinary visits, specialized care, and eventual surgery continues to add up. If you're able, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help us continue providing Penelope with the care she needs throughout her long recovery. Every gift, no matter the size, helps ensure this brave little kitten has every opportunity to heal and live the happy, pain-free life she deserves. If donating isn't possible, sharing Penelope's story with your family and friends is another wonderful way to help. Thank you for believing in this incredible little survivor and for standing beside her every step of the way.

Skipper

Skipper was found dragging his back legs.

Kewaskum, WI • Stray Dog Support

A few weeks ago, Stray Dog Support welcomed this precious little puppy named Skipper into their program after they were contacted by a lady who rescues cats in Cairo, Egypt. She had spotted Skipper dragging himself along the streets, clearly unable to use his back legs. They don’t know exactly what happened to him. Fortunately, they were able to get Skipper to safety and straight to the vet. X-rays revealed permanent damage to his spine. They’re hopeful that with physical therapy, nutritious food, supplements, and lots of love, they might see improvement. Miracles do happen, and Skipper deserves every chance. When he arrived, he was also covered in fleas and was so severely anemic that they truly believe they got to him just in time. Had he remained on the streets much longer, he may not have survived. Today, Skipper is safe in boarding care while he gains strength and begins his rehabilitation. Despite everything he’s endured, he is the sweetest, cutest little boy, and they are determined to help him thrive. As puppy season begins, Stray Dog Support is already being inundated with more and more little ones needing urgent help—and they know this is only the beginning. Every rescue like Skipper’s is only possible because of your support. If you’d like to be part of Skipper’s journey and help cover his veterinary care, boarding, food, supplements, and rehabilitation so he has a chance at finding his forever home, please consider making a donation. Every dollar makes a difference, and together we can give this brave little boy the future he deserves. Thank you.

Sampson

Sampson was never meant to die alone.

Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary

When Flying Pigs Sanctuary set the trap, they thought Sampson was just another feral cat who needed to be neutered and returned. But the moment they got him into their hands, they knew something wasn't right. He had a large, painful wound on his leg. His body was worn down from years of surviving outside. His eyes told the story of an old soul who had simply run out of strength. Then came the test results. FIV Positive. In that moment, everything changed. Returning Samson to the streets was no longer an option. The funny thing was... he didn't act like a feral cat at all. Whether he had once belonged to someone or whether life on the streets had simply defeated him, Sampson quietly accepted gentle touches. It was as if, after all those years, he had finally decided to trust someone enough to ask for help. Thankfully, one of their incredible volunteers and foster moms fell in love with him and opened her home, her heart, and her wallet. For weeks, she cared for him through painful wound treatments, multiple veterinary visits, surgeries on his leg, endless bandage changes, medications, and countless hours of love and patience. Slowly, the frightened old tomcat transformed into a cherished member of her family. But saving him wasn't cheap. Flying Pigs Animal Sanctuary covered his dental care—about $500. His incredible foster spent over $1,000 of her own money treating his leg and giving him the medical care he desperately needed. This is the side of TNR that most people never see. Sometimes you trap a "feral" cat... and instead you discover a senior who just needed someone to notice he was suffering. Those are the moments that stretch every dollar we have, and we are desperately asking for your help to cover the cost of his medical bills.

Honey

Honey's sweet second chance

Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary

At first glance, Honey looks like any other playful 8-week-old kitten. But what you can't see is that she's a Panleukopenia survivor. Panleuk has ripped through kitten communities this spring, and despite every precaution Flying Pigs Sanctuary takes to protect the kittens in their care, it found its way into one of their foster homes. Honey wasn't alone. She and her brother, Baer, were fighting the same terrible virus. Sadly, Baer was simply too sick. Despite everything they tried, they couldn't save him. The moment they lost Baer, they shifted into prevention mode for Honey. They threw everything they had at giving her the best chance possible before the virus could take hold. Even with early intervention, Honey became critically ill and spent two days hospitalized, receiving around-the-clock care that ultimately saved her life. That care came with a price: $2,300. Which is why we're asking for your help. Please consider making a donation toward Honey's medical expenses. Every dollar helps them recover the cost of saving her life so they can say "yes" to the next kitten who needs them.

Lt. Dan

This special guy needs your help.

Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary

Meet Lt. Dan 💔 Lt. Dan is just 2 months old, but he’s already faced more than any kitten ever should. Born into a feral colony with disabilities, he never would have survived on his own. Flying Pigs Sanctuary knew they had to step in. Now safe at their rescue, Lt. Dan is getting the care he desperately needs—a special diet, acupuncture, physical therapy, and soon surgery to remove his painful eye. Despite everything, he’s still fighting, and we’re fighting right alongside him. Please help us give Lt. Dan the chance at a comfortable, happy life, where his disabilities won't hold him back. Your donation will go directly toward his medical care and ongoing treatment. Every dollar makes a difference for this tiny fighter. 7/17/26 Update Lt. Dan is crushing it in physical therapy! He is everyone's favorite kitten. We still want to have an MRI done to figure out exactly what's going on. 7/25/26 Update We still want to get Lt. Dan an MRI, but with all the animals we're dealing with at the moment, the cost is way too high. It will cost several thousand dollars. We desperately want to do this for him because he deserves it but we can't do it without your help. Every little bit helps. Thank you!

Mia Survived the Attack—Now She Needs Our Help to Keep Fighting

WHITESTONE, NY • NYC Second Chance Rescue

One moment changed Mia's life forever. This tiny five-year-old Yorkshire Terrier suffered a horrific attack by a much larger dog. The force of the attack threw her into the air and slammed her to the ground, leaving her critically injured and fighting for her life. When Mia arrived at the animal hospital, her condition was devastating. She was in full-blown shock. Her jaw was shattered in two places. Multiple ribs were broken. Her lungs were severely bruised. Large sections of skin along her body had been torn open. The veterinary team immediately began lifesaving treatment, but Mia's injuries were so severe that she needed to be transferred to a specialty critical care hospital where advanced surgical and emergency teams could take over her care. That is where NYC Second Chance Rescue came in. After rushing her to the special critical care hospital, Mia was stabilized enough to undergo surgery. But once surgeons began operating, they discovered the damage was even worse than anyone had hoped. Parts of Mia's jaw could not be saved. Her surgeons worked tirelessly to preserve as much function as possible and were able to save her lip, giving her the best chance at maintaining a functional mouth and quality of life moving forward. Today, Mia remains in critical condition. She has survived the initial trauma and major surgery, but her journey is far from over. She continues to require around-the-clock monitoring, pain management, specialized nursing care, medications, diagnostics, and ongoing treatment as her battered body fights to heal. Despite the unimaginable pain she has endured, Mia continues to fight. Now NYC Second Chance Rescue is fighting right alongside her. The cost of emergency critical care, specialty surgery, hospitalization, and recovery is substantial, but we refuse to let finances determine Mia's future. She deserves every opportunity to heal and experience the life that was nearly stolen from her. Please consider making a donation to help cover Mia's emergency medical expenses and ongoing care. Every contribution helps give this brave little survivor another chance to recover, heal, and one day know a future filled with comfort, safety, and love. Thank you for standing with Mia during the fight of her life. 7/1/26 Update We have some encouraging news to share about Mia. If you remember, this tiny Yorkie was attacked by a much larger dog, suffering multiple broken ribs, devastating bite wounds, and a shattered jaw. She underwent emergency surgery to save her life, but complications followed, including a severe infection, dead tissue that required surgical removal, and another major surgery after her jaw repair failed. Now, Mia is finally showing signs of progress. Her vital signs are stable, she's eating well, and she's moving both front legs a little better. While she still has some deficits, her medical team is hopeful they're caused by inflammation and her injuries rather than permanent damage. Her wound cultures also confirmed she's already on the correct antibiotics, allowing her team to continue treating the infection with confidence. Mia will remain hospitalized so her surgeon can reevaluate her. She still has a long road ahead, but today we're celebrating these small victories. Thank you for keeping Mia in your thoughts and making her care possible. Your support is giving this little fighter every chance to heal. If you can donate to Mia's care, it would be so helpful for our rescue. Her vet bill is going to be a very large one- but we are not giving up on her. 7/7/26 Update Because of your incredible generosity and support, Mia has officially been discharged from the hospital after weeks of intensive care, multiple surgeries, and around-the-clock treatment. Mia's journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. After suffering devastating injuries in an attack by a much larger dog, she underwent emergency surgery to repair her shattered jaw and treat her extensive wounds. Along the way, she faced heartbreaking setbacks, including a severe infection and another major surgery after her initial jaw repair failed. Through it all, this tiny fighter never gave up. As Mia's condition stabilized, we were finally able to learn the heartbreaking story behind how she came into our care. Before surrendering Mia, her family had already emptied their bank accounts, spending more than $2,000 in a single hour trying to save her life. When they were told they simply could not afford the lifesaving treatment she needed, they made the impossible decision to surrender her to the hospital, praying that a rescue would step in and give her the chance they desperately wanted for her. They never stopped loving her. When NYC Second Chance Rescue contacted them to share the incredible news that Mia had survived—and that, thanks to your generosity, there was a chance she could come home—they collapsed to the floor in tears. Today, we are beyond thrilled to share that Mia is exactly where she belongs: back in the arms of the family who loves her so deeply. While her recovery isn't over, and she'll continue to need follow-up appointments and ongoing medical care, she now gets to heal in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by the people who never stopped fighting for her. To every single person who donated, shared Mia's story, and kept her in your thoughts, thank you. Your compassion did more than save one little dog's life—you reunited a family that thought they had lost their beloved companion forever. As Mia continues her recovery, her veterinary bills remain significant. If you're able to make a donation, your gift will help cover her ongoing follow-up care and allow NYC Second Chance Rescue to say "yes" to the next critically injured animal who has nowhere else to turn 7/15/26 Update After everything she has endured, Mia continues to make steady progress in her recovery. This brave little Yorkie has overcome unimaginable obstacles—from surviving a devastating dog attack and multiple emergency surgeries to battling a serious infection and weeks of intensive hospitalization. While her journey has been long, she continues to show us just how resilient she is. Mia is now recovering at home with the family who never stopped loving her. Being back in a familiar environment, surrounded by the people who fought so hard for her, has made all the difference. She continues to attend follow-up appointments with her veterinary team to closely monitor her healing, and while she still has a road ahead of her, she is growing stronger every day. Her recovery remains a gradual process. She is still receiving ongoing medical care, medications, and regular evaluations to ensure her jaw and injuries continue to heal properly. Every small milestone is a reminder of how far she has come since the day she arrived fighting for her life. We are so grateful to everyone who has donated, shared Mia's story, and kept her in your thoughts. Your generosity made it possible for her to receive lifesaving emergency care, specialty surgery, hospitalization, and the continued treatment she needs today. If you're able to support Mia's ongoing medical care, your donation will help cover her follow-up visits and remaining veterinary expenses while also allowing NYC Second Chance Rescue to continue saying "yes" to other critically injured animals in desperate need. Thank you for being part of Mia's remarkable journey. We look forward to sharing more happy updates as this courageous little survivor continues to heal. 7/28/26 Update We are thrilled to share that Mia has officially been discharged from the hospital after weeks of intensive care, multiple surgeries, and around-the-clock treatment. Her journey has been incredibly difficult. After suffering devastating injuries from an attack by a larger dog, Mia underwent emergency surgery, battled a serious infection, and required additional surgery when her initial jaw repair failed. As she stabilized, we learned the full story behind her surrender. Her family had already emptied their bank accounts, spending over $2,000 in a single hour trying to save her. When they could no longer afford her lifesaving treatment, they made the heartbreaking decision to surrender her to the hospital in hopes that a rescue could step in. They never stopped loving her. When we reached out to inform them that, thanks to Waggle's generosity, Mia survived and could return home, they were overcome with emotion. Today, Mia is back where she belongs, with the family who loves her so deeply. While her recovery is not over, she still faces multiple follow-up appointments and continued medical care, she now gets to heal surrounded by her family. Thank you and everyone at Waggle who donated, shared her story, and stood by Mia. You didn’t just save her life; you gave a family their beloved dog back.

Abandoned to Die When He Needed Help Most: Help Save Cole

Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.

Cole's story is one of heartbreaking betrayal. Not long ago, Cole was someone's beloved pet. He had a home, a family, and people who were supposed to care for him. But when he became seriously ill and veterinary treatment became expensive, he was abandoned. When we found Cole wandering the streets alone, he was still wearing an IV catheter and a tight bandage on his leg—a devastating reminder that he had recently been receiving veterinary care. We later learned that his owners had taken him to the veterinarian, refused to pay for the treatment he desperately needed, and simply left him outside to fend for himself. Confused, sick, and in pain, Cole was forced to survive on the streets while battling a severe viral infection affecting his jaw. Without treatment, the infection progressed relentlessly. Part of his jaw began to deteriorate. Several of his teeth were lost. The remaining teeth became severely infected and decayed. The odor coming from his mouth was overwhelming and heartbreaking. Unable to eat comfortably and suffering from extreme dehydration, Cole's condition continued to worsen. By the time Paws & Claws Animal Welfare found him, he was exhausted, starving, thirsty, and enduring unimaginable pain. We knew there wasn't a moment to lose. Cole was rushed immediately to the veterinary hospital and admitted to the ICU, where he is now receiving intensive medical care. He is being treated with fluids, medications, pain management, and supportive care as veterinarians work to stabilize his condition and give him a chance to recover. But Cole's journey is far from over. Once he is strong enough, he will likely require extensive oral surgery to remove the severely diseased teeth that remain and address the damage caused by the infection. His ongoing hospitalization, diagnostics, medications, and future procedures are creating significant veterinary expenses every single day. No animal deserves to be discarded when they become sick. No animal deserves to be abandoned simply because treatment costs money. Cole deserved better than what happened to him. Now he needs compassionate people to help him receive the care he was denied. Please consider making a donation today to help cover Cole's ICU hospitalization, medical treatment, diagnostics, medications, and future oral surgery. Every contribution gives this sweet boy a better chance at healing, comfort, and the loving future he deserves. Together, we can show Cole that he is not forgotten and that his life is worth fighting for. 7/7/26 Update We have some encouraging news to share about sweet Cole! Thanks to the incredible support of our community, Cole has improved enough to leave the hospital and continue his recovery at the Paws & Claws Animal Welfare shelter. While he still has a long road ahead, this is an important milestone in his healing journey. Right now, our focus is helping Cole regain his strength and put on much-needed weight before he undergoes the extensive dental surgery he desperately needs. His damaged and infected mouth has made eating difficult for so long, so building his health back up is a crucial step before anesthesia and surgery can be performed safely. In addition to his oral health challenges, Cole has also been diagnosed with blood parasites and is receiving treatment for them. Our veterinary team is closely monitoring his progress and making sure he receives the medications, nutrition, and loving care he needs every day. Although Cole is no longer in the ICU, his journey isn't over. His upcoming dental procedure and ongoing medical treatment remain essential to relieving the pain he's endured for far too long and giving him the chance to enjoy a healthy, comfortable life again. Thank you for believing in Cole and giving him the opportunity to keep fighting. Your generosity has already helped carry him through the most critical part of his recovery, and your continued support will help him reach the next milestone on his journey toward healing. 7/12/26 Update Cole continues to make steady progress as he recovers under the care of our veterinary team. Every day he grows a little stronger, and we're so grateful to see him becoming more comfortable after everything he has endured. He remains surrounded by compassionate caregivers who are making sure he receives the nutrition, medications, and monitoring he needs as he continues healing. While we're encouraged by his progress, Cole's medical journey is not over. He still requires ongoing veterinary care, follow-up examinations, medications, and additional treatment to address the damage caused by the severe infection he was living with before his rescue. Our team is committed to giving him every opportunity to make a full recovery and enjoy the pain-free life he has always deserved. We cannot thank our supporters enough for making Cole's rescue and treatment possible. Because of your generosity, a cat who was abandoned when he needed help most is finally receiving the love and medical care he should have had all along. If you're able, please consider making a donation to support Cole's continued recovery. Every contribution helps provide his ongoing veterinary care while also allowing us to rescue and treat other animals facing medical emergencies. Thank you for standing with Cole and reminding him that he is loved, valued, and worth fighting for. 7/22/26 Update We’re excited to share another encouraging update on Cole’s recovery! After everything this sweet boy has endured, Cole continues to make wonderful progress. He is still receiving his medications as his veterinary team carefully monitors his recovery, but we're happy to report that he has gained weight—an important milestone that shows he's getting stronger and healthier with each passing day. Cole also recently got a much-needed lion cut to remove his long, dirty, matted fur. Not only has it helped him feel more comfortable, but it's also given him a fresh start as he continues leaving his difficult past behind. Seeing him clean, comfortable, and cared for is a powerful reminder of just how far he's come since being abandoned when he needed help the most. While these improvements are incredibly encouraging, Cole's journey isn't over yet. He still requires ongoing medications, veterinary monitoring, and follow-up care as he continues recovering from the severe infection that affected his mouth. His veterinary team remains committed to ensuring he is healthy and strong enough for any additional treatment he may still need. Every step forward is possible because of compassionate supporters like you. Your generosity has given Cole the opportunity to heal, regain his strength, and experience the love and care he should have had all along. If you're able, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help cover Cole's continued veterinary care and recovery. Every contribution helps provide the medications, follow-up treatment, and specialized care he still needs while also allowing Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society to rescue more animals facing medical emergencies. If you aren't able to donate, sharing Cole's story is another meaningful way to help. Thank you for believing in Cole and for giving this resilient boy the second chance he so deeply deserves. 8/1/26 Update We have the happiest news to share—Cole has officially completed his medical treatment! When Cole was rescued, he was in unimaginable condition. Abandoned by the people who were supposed to love him, he was left to suffer with a severe infection that had destroyed part of his jaw, left him with rotten and missing teeth, and made every bite of food agonizing. He was dehydrated, weak, and fighting for his life. Today, that frightened, suffering cat is almost unrecognizable. Since his rescue, Cole has completed all of his prescribed medical treatments, successfully recovered from his illness, and reached another major milestone—he has been neutered and undergone the dental surgery he so desperately needed. During the procedure, veterinarians removed several painful, diseased teeth, finally giving Cole the relief he had gone without for far too long. His journey isn't quite over, but it's incredibly close. Over the coming weeks, Cole will receive his vaccinations, completing his veterinary care and making him officially fully vetted and ready for the bright future he deserves. None of this would have been possible without you. Because of your generosity, Cole was able to receive emergency hospitalization, lifesaving medications, surgery, and compassionate veterinary care instead of continuing to suffer alone on the streets. You gave him a second chance after he was abandoned when he needed help the most. From all of us at Paws & Claws Animal Welfare, thank you for believing that Cole's life was worth saving. Your kindness transformed a story of heartbreak into one of hope, healing, and new beginnings. Stay tuned—we can't wait to share the day Cole finds the loving forever home he has always deserved. ❤️

Harlequin

Harlequin needs your help.

Sayreville, NJ • Whiskers Rescue, Inc.

Harlequin was found outside cold, wet, limping, and struggling to breathe. Though she was living as a feral cat, she turned out to be an incredibly sweet and friendly cat who clearly needed help. A Good Samaritan took her in and did everything she could, but Harlequin was still wheezing, had a large lump on her knee, and wasn’t feeling any better, so Whiskers Rescue stepped in to get him the care she desperately needed. Harlequin was recently seen at Twin Oaks Veterinary Hospital by Dr. Schuler, who examined her under anesthesia. Thankfully, no polyps were found, but heartbreakingly, they discovered BB gun pellets in one of his front paws, leading the team to believe Harlequin may have been used for target practice. We truly cannot understand how anyone could be so cruel. Bloodwork and a fecal test were also done, and her kidney values came back slightly abnormal. Harlequin is now on Veraflox and Famciclovir to help make breathing easier, but depending on how she responds, she may still need a culture sensitivity test and/or CT scan. So far, Harlequin’s vet care has totaled $820, and we are asking for help covering these costs so we can continue getting her the treatment she needs. Harlequin has already endured so much, and we want to give this sweet girl the chance to finally feel safe, comfortable, and healthy. If you’re able to donate toward Harlequin’s care, we would be so grateful. Every dollar helps us continue fighting for her.

Lily Is Back in Safe Hands—and She Needs Help Healing

Eugene, OR • Unbreakabull Rescue Allies

Lily thought she had finally found her forever home. This beautiful, affectionate large-breed dog was adopted from Unbreakabull Rescue Allies with hopes of a bright future. Like so many rescue dogs, all she wanted was a family to love and a place where she belonged. Instead, she got the opposite. Not long after her adoption, Lily's family began expressing frustration with her size and behavior. They decided not to keep her. Because all of our foster homes were full, we asked the adopters to keep Lily until a foster opening became available. They agreed. Then everything changed. Two weeks before Lily was scheduled to return to the rescue, her adopter contacted us with alarming news: Lily's face was severely swollen. Although frustrated with having to deal with Lily's medical crisis, they took her to the veterinary clinic upon our request. However, after refusing to authorize any diagnostics or treatment beyond a basic prescription for antibiotics, they left the clinic with Lily, drove to her former foster home, and left her there. Lily was taken to an emergency clinic, but her adopter refused to authorize additional diagnostics or treatment beyond a basic prescription for antibiotics. Then, without warning, they drove to Lily's former foster home, left her there, and walked away. A sick, suffering dog was simply discarded. Once Lily was back in rescue care, the heartbreaking truth became clear. The massive swelling covering her face was caused by an untreated cat bite she had suffered inside the adopter's home. The puncture wounds had been ignored until a severe infection developed, causing significant pain, inflammation, and risk to her overall health. And the truth of the matter is, Lily deserved better. Thankfully, she is now safe. With proper veterinary treatment, medications, and dedicated care from her foster family, the infection is improving and the swelling has begun to subside. But the cost of her emergency treatment and follow-up care has placed an unexpected burden on our rescue. We are asking for your help to cover Lily's veterinary expenses so we can continue providing the care she deserves. Despite everything she has been through, Lily remains loving, trusting, and ready to believe in people again. We refuse to let her story end with abandonment. Please consider making a donation to help cover Lily's emergency medical care and support her journey toward the happy ending she deserves. Together, we can show Lily that she is valued, loved, and worth fighting for. 7/26/26 Update We have wonderful news to share about Lily Thanks to the veterinary care she received, the painful abscess that caused the severe swelling on her face has healed beautifully. The infection is gone, her swelling has completely resolved, and Lily is feeling so much better. Now that she's feeling like herself again, Lily can focus on what she deserves most: finding a family that will truly love her for the rest of her life. While we're celebrating this milestone, we're still working to cover the unexpected veterinary expenses that made Lily's recovery possible. Emergency exams, diagnostics, medications, and treatment all came at a significant cost, and every dollar donated helps ensure we can say "yes" the next time a dog like Lily needs us. If you're able, please consider making a donation today to help cover Lily's medical bills. Your support not only gave her the chance to heal, but also allows Unbreakabull Rescue Allies to continue providing lifesaving care to dogs who have nowhere else to turn. Thank you for believing in Lily and for helping her get one step closer to the loving forever home she's always deserved. 8/4/26 Update Because of your incredible generosity, Lily's story has the ending we had all hoped for. After everything she endured—from being abandoned while suffering from a painful, untreated infection to fighting through her recovery—Lily has finally found the loving forever home she always deserved. Today, Lily is completely settled into her new family's home, and they absolutely adore her. She has embraced the life every rescue dog dreams of. Every weekend, she heads out on hiking adventures with her family, and her days are filled with neighborhood walks and trips to the dog park, where she happily plays with her new friends. Best of all, Lily's facial injury has healed completely. The painful abscess and swelling are now nothing more than a memory, and she is healthy, happy, and thriving. Watching Lily blossom into the confident, joyful dog she was always meant to be has been the greatest reward. Her journey is a beautiful reminder that, with compassion, second chances, and the support of an amazing community, even the most heartbreaking stories can have a happy ending. From all of us at Unbreakabull Rescue Allies, thank you to everyone who donated, shared Lily's story, and stood by her every step of the way. Your kindness made her recovery possible and helped give her the fresh start she deserved. Because of you, Lily is finally living her very best life—and we couldn't be happier for her.

Laser

Help Laser Survive and Begin His Road to Recovery

Jacksonville, FL • Stray Animal Foundation of India

Laser, a young male puppy, was brought to Stray Animal Foundation of India with devastating injuries after what appears to have been a severe traffic accident. His front leg was crushed, and his wounds were consistent with being run over. X-rays confirmed a serious fracture, and by the time he reached care, Laser had already lost a significant amount of blood. His little body is in shock, and veterinarians are deeply concerned about the risk of sepsis. Laser’s condition is critical, and he needs intensive veterinary treatment to stabilize him before any major procedure can safely take place. His medical team is working urgently to manage his pain, support his circulation, address infection risk, and give his small body the best chance to respond. Once Laser is stable enough, his damaged front leg will need to be amputated. This is a difficult but necessary step to prevent further painand give him the possibility of a safer, healthier life. Laser’s recovery will require emergency care, medications, diagnostics, hospitalization, surgery, and careful post-operative monitoring. For a puppy facing trauma, blood loss, shock, and the threat of sepsis, every hour of treatment matters. Your donation can help provide the critical care Laser needs right now. With your support, Stray Animal Foundation of India can continue giving him the urgent medical attention required to survive this crisis and begin healing. Please donate today to help Laser fight through this emergency and take his first steps toward recovery. 7/14/26 Update We wanted to share an update on brave little Laser and thank everyone who has supported his journey so far. Laser remains under close veterinary supervision and is currently on strict cage rest as his medical team focuses on stabilizing his condition. While he continues to recover from the severe trauma he suffered, blood tests revealed that he is anemic, so he is receiving medication to help improve his blood parameters and strengthen his body. Before moving forward with surgery, Laser's veterinarians will repeat diagnostic testing to evaluate his progress and determine the safest course of action regarding the amputation of his injured front leg. Their priority is ensuring that he is strong enough to undergo surgery and have the best possible chance at a successful recovery. Although there are still important decisions ahead, Laser is receiving the dedicated care he needs every step of the way. His journey isn't over yet, but thanks to your compassion, he has the opportunity to keep fighting. If you're able, please consider making a donation to help cover Laser's ongoing hospitalization, medications, repeat diagnostics, and the surgery he will likely need. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps give this courageous puppy the chance to heal and look forward to a brighter future. 7/23/26 Update We wanted to share another update on sweet Laser and thank everyone who has been following his journey and keeping him in your hearts. Although Laser is still waiting for the next step in his treatment, there has been encouraging progress. This brave puppy has grown into a handsome young boy since arriving in our care, and despite everything he has endured, his resilient spirit continues to shine through. As Laser has been healing, his injured front leg has begun to calcify. His veterinary team is closely monitoring the healing process and is waiting for his blood values to improve before making any final decisions. Once his anemia has resolved and he is strong enough, they will perform repeat evaluations to determine whether amputation is still the best course of action or if surgery may no longer be necessary. For now, Laser remains under careful veterinary supervision as he continues receiving supportive care, medications, and monitoring to help him build the strength he needs. While it's encouraging to see him growing stronger each day, his journey is far from over, and he still requires ongoing medical care before he can move on to the next chapter of his recovery. We are so grateful for the kindness and generosity that has helped Laser make it this far. If you're able, please consider making a donation to help cover his continued veterinary care, repeat diagnostics, medications, and any surgery he may still need. Every gift helps ensure Laser receives the treatment he needs to keep healing and, one day, enjoy the happy, pain-free life every puppy deserves. 7/28/26 Update After weeks of strict cage rest, careful monitoring, and dedicated veterinary care, Laser's injured front leg has healed much better than anyone initially expected. Follow-up evaluations have shown that the fracture has calcified in the proper position while supported by his bandage—a huge milestone in his recovery. Because of this positive progress, Laser's veterinary team is holding off on amputation for now. Over the next week, they will carefully monitor how Laser uses the leg as he begins putting more weight on it. Their biggest goal is to determine whether he can walk comfortably without pain. If he continues to do well, Laser may not need surgery at all. This is the outcome everyone has been hoping for. While we're incredibly optimistic, Laser isn't out of the woods just yet. He still needs close veterinary supervision, follow-up examinations, and ongoing care to ensure his leg continues healing properly and that he remains comfortable as his activity gradually increases. We are so grateful to everyone who has supported Laser throughout this journey. Your generosity has given him the time and medical care he needed for his body to heal, and because of that, he now has the possibility of keeping his leg. Please continue to keep Laser in your thoughts as he reaches this important milestone. If you're able, a donation toward his continued veterinary care will help ensure he receives the follow-up treatment and monitoring he needs to complete his recovery. Every contribution brings this resilient puppy one step closer to the happy, healthy future he deserves.

Eva Has Already Lost So Much. Help Her Get the Care She Urgently Needs.

Jacksonville, FL • Stray Animal Foundation of India

Eva was rescued after being found in a heartbreaking condition. By the time help reached her, she was already missing one of her paws and struggling to survive with multiple untreated injuries. After being rescued by the Stray Animal Foundation of India, Eva was immediately transported to our veterinary clinic for a full medical evaluation. Diagnostic testing and X-rays revealed that her challenges extend far beyond the loss of her paw. Veterinarians discovered that Eva is suffering from anemia, has an additional fracture, and is carrying several open wounds that require ongoing treatment and careful management. Despite everything she has endured, Eva continues to fight. Her medical team is working to stabilize her condition and develop a plan for her fracture so she can begin the long process of recovery. However, the road ahead will require continued veterinary care, medications, wound management, and supportive treatment to help her heal safely. For a street dog already facing the loss of a limb, these additional injuries make her situation especially urgent. Without consistent medical care, complications from her wounds, fracture, and anemia could significantly impact her recovery. Your support can make a direct difference in Eva's future. Every donation helps provide the treatment, monitoring, and compassionate care she needs during this critical time. Together, we can give Eva the chance to heal, regain her strength, and move forward from a life of hardship toward one of safety and comfort. Please donate today to help Eva continue her fight toward recovery. 7/8/26 Update We have some encouraging news to share about sweet Eva. Despite everything she has been through, Eva continues to amaze us with her gentle spirit. She has been incredibly friendly with our veterinary team and has cooperated with every step of her treatment, making it clear that she hasn't lost her trust in people. Right now, our primary focus is helping Eva become strong enough for the next stage of her care. She is receiving medications to improve her blood parameters and treat her anemia, and we're happy to report that she is responding well. Her bloodwork is steadily improving, and she has a healthy appetite, eating and drinking well each day. Once her condition has stabilized and her blood parameters have improved further, our veterinarians will carefully evaluate her injured leg to determine the best path forward. At that point, they will decide whether amputation is necessary or if another treatment option will provide Eva with the best chance for a comfortable, pain-free future. We are so grateful for everyone who has supported Eva's journey so far. Your generosity is allowing her to receive the ongoing medical care, medications, monitoring, and compassion she desperately needed. Eva still has a long road ahead, and her veterinary care is far from over. Every donation, no matter the size, helps provide the diagnostics, medications, wound care, and treatment she needs to continue healing. If you're able, please consider making a gift today or sharing Eva's story with others. Together, we can give this resilient girl the second chance she deserves. 7/12/26 Update Eva continues to make steady progress under the watchful care of our veterinary team. She remains bright, affectionate, and cooperative with her daily treatments, and we're encouraged by the improvements we've seen since she first arrived. Our veterinarians are continuing to closely monitor her healing, manage her wounds, and provide the medications and supportive care she needs as she regains her strength. While she still has a journey ahead of her, we're grateful that she is surrounded by compassionate people who are committed to giving her every opportunity for a healthy, comfortable future. Every day brings Eva one step closer to recovery, but her medical care is ongoing. Follow-up examinations, medications, wound management, diagnostics, and continued treatment all remain essential parts of her healing process. We are incredibly thankful to everyone who has donated, shared Eva's story, and kept her in their thoughts. Your generosity has already made a tremendous difference in her life. If you're able, please consider making a donation to support Eva's continued veterinary care. Every gift helps ensure she receives everything she needs to keep healing while also allowing us to continue helping other injured and neglected animals who have nowhere else to turn. 7/22/26 Update We're happy to share another update on Eva's healing journey. Thanks to the dedicated care of the veterinary team and the generosity of supporters like you, Eva is continuing to recover. While she still has some hurdles to overcome, she is making steady progress every day. Right now, the primary focus is treating her anemia, which will take a little more time to fully resolve. Her veterinarians expect she will need a few more days—or possibly several weeks—of continued care before her blood values are where they need to be. To help her body heal, Eva remains on a treatment plan that includes medications, nutritional supplements, and a healthy, nourishing diet. Every meal and every dose of medication is helping her regain strength and preparing her for the next steps in her recovery. Although she still has a road ahead, we're encouraged by the progress she's making. Recovering from the loss of a paw, multiple wounds, a fracture, and anemia is no small task, but Eva continues to show just how resilient she is. Your support has been instrumental in giving Eva the chance to heal. Because of your generosity, she is receiving the veterinary care, medications, nutrition, and ongoing monitoring she needs during this critical stage of her recovery. Eva's journey isn't over yet, and she still needs our help. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to support her continued medical care. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps provide the medications, supplements, specialized nutrition, and veterinary treatment she still needs as she works toward a healthier, brighter future. If you're unable to donate, sharing Eva's story is another wonderful way to help. Thank you for standing with Eva and the Stray Animal Foundation of India as she continues her journey toward healing. 8/2/26 Update We wanted to share a final update on Eva's journey and thank each and every one of you who has supported her along the way. Since her rescue, Eva has overcome so much. She arrived in our care missing a paw, suffering from multiple wounds, a fracture, and severe anemia. Thanks to your generosity, she has received the veterinary care, medications, nutritious food, and constant monitoring she desperately needed to begin healing. As many of you know, our team had been waiting for Eva's blood values to improve so she could safely undergo surgery. Unfortunately, during her continued testing, veterinarians discovered the reason her anemia was not resolving as expected. Eva has been diagnosed with tick fever, a tick-borne disease that commonly causes anemia in dogs. While this diagnosis helps explain her persistent low blood counts, it also means her treatment plan has changed. Right now, her health and recovery from tick fever must come first. Eva is receiving medication to treat the infection, and her veterinary team will continue closely monitoring her progress. Until her body has recovered and her blood values have improved, her surgery has been postponed indefinitely. Moving forward with anesthesia before she is medically stable would put her at far too great a risk. While this wasn't the update we had hoped to share, we are grateful to have identified the underlying cause of Eva's anemia so she can receive the treatment she truly needs. From all of us at the Stray Animal Foundation of India, thank you for believing in Eva. Your compassion made it possible for her to receive lifesaving diagnostics, medical treatment, and ongoing care when she had nowhere else to turn. Because of you, she is safe, loved, and receiving every opportunity to heal. Please continue to keep sweet Eva in your thoughts as she works through this next chapter of her recovery. We remain hopeful that, once she has fully recovered from tick fever, she will be strong enough to undergo the surgery she needs and continue her journey toward a pain-free future. Thank you for giving Eva a chance she never would have had without you. ❤️

Help Tori Heal and Walk Again

Burnsville, MN • Baw Baw Animal Welfare

Tori was brought to veterinary care on June 15, 2026, after developing serious mobility issues and suffering from a severe wound on his hind leg. Upon examination, veterinarians discovered a chronic, infected laceration on the lower portion of his left hind limb, along with signs of anemia that indicated his condition had been deteriorating for some time. Tori required immediate medical intervention. The veterinary team began emergency stabilization by administering IV fluids and controlling active bleeding from the wound. To combat the infection and prevent further complications, intensive wound management and injectable antibiotic treatments were started right away. While Tori has received the urgent care he needed to stabilize his condition, his recovery is far from over. Ongoing treatment, medications, and supportive therapies will be essential to help him heal properly and regain comfort and mobility. Every day matters when treating severe infections and chronic wounds. Delays in care can lead to worsening infection, prolonged suffering, and more complex medical challenges. With your support, Tori can continue receiving the treatment he needs and have the best chance at a full recovery. Your donation will directly help cover the costs of his ongoing veterinary care and give Tori the opportunity to heal, regain strength, and return to a healthy, active life. Please consider making a gift today to help Tori on his road to recovery. Every contribution makes a meaningful difference. 8/2/26 Update It is with heavy hearts that we share that, despite every effort to save him, Tori has passed away. When Tori arrived in our care, he was suffering from a severe infected wound on his hind leg, significant mobility issues, and anemia. Our veterinary team acted immediately, providing emergency treatment with IV fluids, antibiotics, pain management, and intensive wound care in hopes of stabilizing him. As doctors continued to evaluate his condition, they discovered that Tori was facing much more than the injuries we could see. He was suffering from chronic kidney failure, severe anemia, and a widespread infection. Despite receiving aggressive medical treatment, his body was simply too sick to recover. His veterinarians believe the likely cause of his passing was a combination of chronic kidney disease, septic shock, and severe anemia. Sometimes, despite the best medical care, the damage is simply too extensive. This is one of the heartbreaking realities of rescue work, especially for animals who have suffered in silence for far too long before help arrives. Although we couldn't give Tori the future we had hoped for, we were able to give him something incredibly important in his final days: compassionate medical care, relief from suffering, and the knowledge that he was not alone. He was surrounded by people who cared deeply about him and fought for his life until the very end. We are profoundly grateful to everyone who donated, shared his story, and kept Tori in their thoughts. Your generosity gave him every possible chance and ensured that he received the dignity, comfort, and care he deserved. From all of us, thank you for standing beside Tori on his journey. While his time with us was far too short, he left this world knowing kindness instead of neglect. Run free, sweet Tori. You will always be remembered. ❤️

After Life on the Street, Suzy Needs Our Help

Burnsville, MN • Baw Baw Animal Welfare

When Suzy arrived at the veterinary hospital, she was suffering from a painful and heartbreaking injury that could no longer be ignored. This gentle 6-year-old girl was found with a severe wound on her right ear that had become infested with maggots. During her examination, veterinarians discovered a large, round wound measuring approximately 7 cm in diameter. Tragically, much of her ear tissue had already become necrotic, meaning the damaged tissue was dying and could not heal on its own. To give Suzy a chance at recovery, the veterinary team immediately sedated her so they could carefully remove the maggots and begin treating the wound. She received essential medications, including antibiotics and other treatments to combat infection and stop further damage. Her wound was thoroughly cleaned and treated, but her fight is far from over. Suzy is now hospitalized and receiving ongoing medical care. The next several days will be critical as veterinarians monitor her healing, manage her pain, and work to prevent complications. Severe wounds like this require intensive treatment, repeated wound care, medications, and continued observation to ensure recovery stays on track. Baw Baw Animal Welfare stepped in when Suzy desperately needed help, but providing lifesaving care comes at a significant cost. Every treatment, medication, and day of hospitalization adds to her growing veterinary bill. Today, we’re asking for your support. Your donation can help cover Suzy’s urgent medical expenses and ensure she continues receiving the care she needs to heal. Together, we can give this sweet girl relief from her suffering and the opportunity to move forward into a healthier, brighter future. Please donate today and help Suzy get the second chance she deserves. ❤️🐾 7/22/26 Update We're grateful to share a positive update on Suzy's recovery. When Suzy first arrived at the veterinary hospital, he was suffering from a severe ear wound that had become infested with maggots and required immediate emergency treatment. Thanks to prompt veterinary care and your incredible support, he is now making encouraging progress. His ear wound is continuing to heal, and the veterinary team is providing ongoing wound care treatments to help ensure a healthy recovery. While he still needs regular monitoring and continued care, we're thankful to see him moving in the right direction. We're also happy to report that Suzy's appetite is good, he is drinking water normally, and his urination and bowel movements are all normal—all positive signs that he is feeling stronger and responding well to treatment. Even more heartwarming, Suzy is now actively enjoying life at the sanctuary. Seeing him alert, engaged, and safely surrounded by compassionate caregivers is a wonderful reminder of how far he has come since the day he was rescued. Although these improvements are encouraging, Suzy's recovery is not yet complete. He will continue receiving ongoing wound care, veterinary evaluations, and supportive treatment to help ensure his ear heals as well as possible and to prevent any complications. Your generosity has made every step of Suzy's recovery possible. If you're able, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help cover the cost of his continued medical care. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps provide the treatment and support he still needs on his journey to a healthy, pain-free future. If you aren't able to donate, sharing Suzy's story is another meaningful way to help. Thank you for standing with Suzy and Baw Baw Animal Welfare and for giving this resilient boy the second chance he deserves 8/2/26 Update We are so happy to share that Suzy's campaign is coming to a close with wonderful news. When Suzy first arrived at the veterinary hospital, she was in unimaginable pain. A devastating wound on her ear had become infested with maggots, and much of the surrounding tissue had already become necrotic. She required emergency sedation so the veterinary team could remove the maggots, thoroughly clean the wound, and begin aggressive treatment to fight infection and save as much healthy tissue as possible. Today, Suzy is a completely different dog. Thanks to the dedicated care of the veterinary team and the incredible generosity of supporters like you, Suzy's ear has healed beautifully. She completed her course of treatment, her infection has resolved, and she is no longer living with the pain that once made every day a struggle. Even better, Suzy has embraced life at the sanctuary. She has a healthy appetite, enjoys spending time with her caregivers, and is once again able to simply be a happy dog. Watching her transform from a frightened animal in severe pain into one who feels safe, comfortable, and loved has been nothing short of amazing. None of this would have been possible without you. Your donations helped provide emergency veterinary care, medications, wound management, hospitalization, and the ongoing treatment Suzy needed to make a full recovery. Because of your compassion, a dog who was once suffering alone has been given the chance to enjoy a brighter future. From all of us at Baw Baw Animal Welfare, thank you for standing beside Suzy throughout her journey. Your kindness not only healed her wounds—it reminded her that there are people in this world who will always fight for animals in need. Suzy's campaign may be ending, but her new life is just beginning. Thank you for making her happy ending possible. ❤️🐾

Help Amy Survive Feline Panleukopenia Virus

Metairie, LA • A Tail in Need Animal Rescue

Amy's life began with uncertainty. At just 3 weeks old, she and her three siblings were found with their mother. Thankfully, a kind-hearted woman took the family in and reached out to A Tail In Need Animal Rescue for help. She lovingly fostered the kittens until they were old enough to leave their mom and enter rescue care. The kittens received their first vaccinations on May 31, 2026, and on June 5, 2026, A Tail In Need Animal Rescue officially welcomed them into the rescue. Just days later, tragedy began to unfold. The kittens developed diarrhea, and medication was started in hopes of stopping it. Instead of improving, their condition worsened. The first kitten to become seriously ill passed away before answers could be found. A few days later, a second sibling was seen by a veterinarian but sadly passed away as well. Despite testing, no clear cause was identified. Then Amy began to decline. Knowing something was terribly wrong, the rescue rushed her to MedVet, where she finally received a diagnosis: feline panleukopenia, a highly contagious and often deadly virus that is especially dangerous for young kittens. Amy is currently hospitalized and fighting for her life. Her medical care has already exceeded $4,500, and expenses continue to grow as she receives the intensive treatment she needs to survive. After losing two of her siblings, Amy is still fighting. A Tail In Need Animal Rescue is doing everything possible to give her a chance, but they cannot do it alone. Please consider making a donation to help cover Amy's emergency medical expenses. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps provide the lifesaving care she needs and gives this little kitten hope for a healthy future. Thank you for supporting Amy and the rescue team working tirelessly to save her. 7/8/26 Update: Amy is a Fighter After everything this little girl has been through, we are thrilled to share that Amy's latest test came back negative for Panleukopenia—a wonderful sign that she has successfully overcome the virus! This is an incredible milestone in her recovery journey. Amy is doing well and continues to show everyone just how much of a fighter she is. After weeks of intensive care and monitoring, it is so wonderful to see her feeling better and enjoying life again. Please enjoy this sweet video of Amy playing with her toys during her recovery. Seeing her happy, curious personality shine through is a beautiful reminder of the progress she has made and the impact of the care and support she has received. While Amy’s progress is a wonderful reminder of what compassionate care can do, she is still receiving the continued care and support she needs as she completes her recovery. Donations continue to help provide for her medical expenses and ongoing needs during this important time. Thank you for being part of Amy’s journey. Your generosity helped provide the medical care, treatment, and support she needed during such a critical time. We are so grateful to everyone who has supported this sweet girl and helped give her the chance to keep fighting. Stay tuned for more updates on Amy’s continued progress! 7/22/26 Update: Amy is Ready for Her Forever Family We are so excited to share one final update on sweet Amy! After everything she has overcome, this resilient little girl is now 2 months old, full of personality, and officially ready to find her forever family. Amy has blossomed into a happy, playful kitten with a bright future ahead of her. She's growing into quite the fluffy girl, and her fun-loving personality shines a little more each day. Watching her transform from a critically ill kitten fighting for her life into the joyful kitten she is today has been nothing short of incredible. This happy ending would not have been possible without the generosity of everyone who donated to Amy's fundraiser. Your support helped provide the lifesaving veterinary care she needed during the most critical time in her young life. From all of us at A Tail In Need Animal Rescue, thank you for believing in Amy and giving her the chance to grow up healthy, happy, and ready to begin the next chapter of her life with a loving family.

Help Support Maggie's Cancer Care

Pineville, MO • Wiggles Senior Dog Sanctuary

When Maggie arrived at Wiggles Senior Dog Sanctuary, she didn’t come with a bright future. She came with cancer. The kind of diagnosis that causes many dogs to be overlooked. The kind that often leaves senior dogs with nowhere to go. But Maggie is more than her diagnosis. She’s a sweet bulldog who loves soft beds, gentle pets, and being surrounded by people who care about her. She still enjoys her days. She still gets excited for meals. She still has a sparkle in her eyes. The goal isn't to cure Maggie's cancer. The goal is to give her the best quality of life possible for whatever time she has left. That means ongoing veterinary care and medications that help keep her comfortable. Unfortunately, those medications are expensive, but they make a tremendous difference in how Maggie feels each day. Every donation, no matter the size, helps provide the care, comfort, and support Maggie deserves. She may be living with cancer, but she is also living surrounded by love, comfort, and dignity. And for Maggie, that's everything. Thank you for helping Wiggles Senior Dog Sanctuary give senior dogs like Maggie the life they deserve. 7/8/26 Update: Keeping Maggie Comfortable We wanted to share a quick update on sweet Maggie. The good news is that Maggie seems to be doing okay and continues to enjoy the love and comfort of Wiggles Senior Dog Sanctuary. Right now, one of the biggest ongoing expenses is her pain medication. While there is no cure for Maggie's cancer, making sure she remains comfortable and pain-free is the rescue's top priority. These medications help give her the best possible quality of life and allow her to enjoy each day surrounded by the people who love her. Thank you for helping ensure Maggie receives the compassionate care and comfort she deserves. Your support truly makes a difference for this sweet girl. 7/24/26 Update: Thank You for Supporting Maggie's Care Thank you to everyone who has supported Maggie's fundraiser so far. Every donation is helping Wiggles Senior Dog Sanctuary provide the compassionate care she needs to remain as comfortable as possible. Maggie's cancer continues to require ongoing medical care. Her medication alone costs approximately $100 each month, in addition to regular veterinary visits that are critical to monitoring the progression of her disease, managing her symptoms, and adjusting her treatment as her needs change. Together, these ongoing treatments help keep Maggie comfortable and allow her to spend the time she has left surrounded by love, dignity, and the compassionate care she deserves. Donations to her fundraiser help ensure she can continue receiving the medical care she depends on. Every act of kindness helps Maggie spend her days surrounded by comfort, dignity, and love. Thank you for continuing to stand beside Maggie and Wiggles Senior Dog Sanctuary. 7/29/26 Update: Maggie's Journey Continues While there may not be major news to share this week, Maggie's journey continues every single day. Caring for a senior dog with cancer isn't a one-time expense. It means ongoing medications, routine veterinary visits, and careful monitoring to make sure she stays comfortable as her needs change. Every day Maggie feels well is a day worth celebrating. Thanks to the compassionate care she receives at Wiggles Senior Dog Sanctuary, Maggie continues to enjoy the comfort, safety, and love that every senior dog deserves. That care is only possible because of supporters who believe dogs like Maggie are worth fighting for. If you've been thinking about making a donation, today is a wonderful time to help. Every contribution helps provide the ongoing medical care that allows Maggie to continue living her days in comfort. Thank you for helping give Maggie the love and quality of life she deserves.

Tiny Kira Is Learning to Walk Again—Help Her Heal

Houston, TX • ThisIsHouston

At just six weeks old, Kira should be spending her days playing, exploring, and discovering the world around her. Instead, this sweet puppy was found alone as a stray, dragging her injured back leg behind her. When Kira came into ThisisHouston's care, she was taken straight to the veterinarian for evaluation. X-rays revealed that she had suffered fractures to the left side of her pelvis, specifically involving her ischium and pubis. The injuries are older, meaning this tiny puppy had been living with pain and trying to survive on her own for far too long. Despite everything she has endured, Kira remains incredibly sweet and resilient. The good news is that puppies are remarkable healers. Because Kira is so young, her little body has already started repairing itself. Her veterinary team believes she has an excellent chance of making a strong recovery with time, strict kennel rest, and gentle at-home physical therapy exercises. For now, Kira is resting comfortably and receiving the care she needs at Neighborhood Veterinary Centers - Nederland while her rescue team works to give her the best possible chance at a healthy future. Every donation, no matter the size, helps provide medical care, pain management, follow-up evaluations, and the resources needed to help Kira heal. After surviving life on the streets with a painful injury, Kira finally has people fighting for her. Please donate today and help this brave little puppy take her first steps toward a brighter future. 6/24/26 Update Kira has officially settled into a loving foster home, and her foster mom can't stop talking about what an incredible puppy she is. In her words, Kira is "absolutely stunning" and has the sweetest disposition imaginable. While Kira is doing well, she is still on strict kennel rest as her pelvic fractures continue to heal. As you can imagine, this energetic little puppy would much rather be running, playing, and exploring the world around her. It's been difficult for both Kira and her foster family to limit her activity, but everyone knows that giving her body the time it needs to heal now will help ensure the best possible outcome for her future. The good news is that Kira has been handling her recovery like an absolute champion. Despite everything she has been through, she remains happy, loving, and full of puppy charm. Her foster family says she has been the BEST puppy and continues to win hearts everywhere she goes. We are so grateful for the support that has helped Kira receive the care she needs. As her recovery continues, there will still be veterinary expenses associated with follow-up care, monitoring her healing progress, and ensuring she stays comfortable throughout the process. If you'd like to help Kira on her journey to a full recovery, please consider making a donation today. Every contribution helps provide the medical care, follow-up appointments, and support this resilient little girl needs as she heals and prepares for a bright future filled with love, playtime, and all the puppy adventures she deserves. 7/1/26 Update Kira's brace has arrived! It will help support the knuckling in her injured leg as she continues healing and learning to use it properly. We're also thrilled to report that Kira has been doing surprisingly well with her strict kennel rest. For an energetic puppy, that's no small feat! While she'd much rather be running and playing, she's taking recovery like the little champion she is. Right now, the prescription is simple: time, rest, and lots of love. Her tiny body continues to do the incredible work of healing itself, and we're optimistic that every day brings her one step closer to a full recovery. Thank you to everyone who has supported Kira so far. Your generosity has given this sweet puppy the medical care, safety, and comfort she desperately needed after such a difficult start in life. As Kira continues her healing journey, your support is still making a difference. Every donation helps provide her follow-up veterinary care, rehabilitation, and everything she needs to grow into the happy, healthy dog she's meant to be. 7/7/26 Update Kira continues to amaze us every single day! This resilient little girl is still on strict kennel rest while her pelvic fractures continue to heal, and we're happy to report that she's doing wonderfully. While asking a growing puppy to stay quiet is no easy task, Kira has been handling it like a champ (most of the time... she \_is\_ still a puppy, after all!). Her foster family says she's feeling great and keeping everyone on their toes with her adorable personality. Even though she'd much rather be zooming around and playing, she's been incredibly patient as her body does the important work of healing. Recovery from an injury like Kira's takes time, but every day of rest is another step toward the active, happy life she deserves. She'll continue to need follow-up veterinary care to monitor her progress and make sure she's healing exactly as she should. Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared her story, and cheered Kira on throughout her recovery. Because of your generosity, this sweet puppy has gone from surviving on the streets with painful injuries to being safe, loved, and receiving the medical care she needs. If you'd like to continue supporting Kira's journey, please consider making a donation today. Every contribution helps provide her follow-up appointments, rehabilitation, and everything she needs as she grows into the healthy, playful dog we know she's meant to be. 8/8/26 Update We have wonderful news to share—Kira is officially off kennel rest! 🎉 When this sweet German Shepherd mix was found as a tiny six-week-old stray with an injured back leg, her first weeks in rescue looked very different from those of most puppies. Instead of running and playing, Kira spent her days on strict kennel rest with a special brace to support her injured leg while her body healed. But now, she is making up for lost time! Kira is running, playing, exploring the yard, and finally getting to do all the things a puppy should. Kira will likely always have some “knuckling” in her back leg, but her brace provides the support she needs, and she has adapted beautifully. It certainly doesn't slow this girl down! Now about three months old, Kira is showing everyone just how bright and curious she is. She loves toys, investigating everything around her, and being part of whatever her people are doing. She's even making great progress with potty training and already understands how to use potty pads! After such a difficult beginning, Kira is finally getting the puppyhood she deserves. 💜 Thank you to everyone who donated, shared her story, and helped make Kira's recovery possible. Because of your generosity, this little shelter puppy went from struggling with a painful injury to running, playing, and looking forward to her future. Now Kira is ready for the next chapter—a lifetime of adventures, love, and a family of her own. 🐾 Her story started with survival. Thanks to you, it gets to continue with hope, happiness, and a whole lot of puppy zoomies!

Help Us Give Miss Trina a Beautiful Life

Harrisburg, PA • Castaway Critters, The James A. Hueholt Memorial Foundation for Animals

When we first laid eyes on this gorgeous kitten, our hearts sank. She reminded us of another kitten we once fought desperately to save—lost, sick, exhausted, and seemingly ready to give up. It was as if little Miss Trina had stopped fighting and was simply waiting for someone to find her. This tiny Siamese kitten, estimated to be just 5 to 6 weeks old, was discovered all alone outside. Nearby, an adult cat watched over her, and we believe it may have been her mother. We are actively trying to bring her to safety too, because nobody gets left behind here. Miss Trina was found in heartbreaking condition. Her eyes were completely swollen shut with infection and pus. Her tiny body was covered in ticks. She was suffering from a severe upper respiratory infection and was so dehydrated and weak that she could barely move. She couldn't see, couldn't eat on her own, and had lost the energy that every kitten should have. Thankfully, a compassionate Good Samaritan found her just in time. Right now, Miss Trina is receiving intensive care. She is being syringe fed formula and HydroCare to keep her nourished, receiving fluids to combat dehydration, antibiotics to fight infection, and medicated eye treatments to give her the best chance of saving her sight. She spends most of her time curled up on a heating pad, resting and gathering strength for the long battle ahead. Every hour matters. While we have already seen small signs of improvement after just one night in rescue, Miss Trina still has a long road to recovery. Castaway Critters is committed to giving her every chance to survive and thrive, but the costs of emergency care, medications, supplies, quarantine protocols, and ongoing treatment add up quickly. If you can help, please consider making a donation. Every dollar helps provide lifesaving care for Miss Trina and other vulnerable animals who have nowhere else to turn. If donating isn't possible, sharing her story can be just as valuable.

Phoebe Survived the Streets—Now She Needs Emergency Care to Heal

Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.

Phoebe should have been safe at home, loved and protected. Instead, this gorgeous, fluffy kitten with her unique coloring was abandoned and left to fend for herself on the streets of Egypt. Alone and vulnerable, she faced dangers no kitten should ever have to endure. Life on the streets is incredibly difficult for homeless cats, and sadly, cruelty toward them is all too common. Phoebe became the victim of a horrific act when someone poured acid on her, leaving her with painful burns and devastating injuries. Terrified, suffering, and in desperate need of help, she likely would not have survived much longer on her own. Thankfully, a compassionate woman who regularly feeds stray cats noticed that something was terribly wrong. She immediately reached out to Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Inc., and despite the late hour, we knew we had to act fast. At 2:00 a.m., Phoebe was rushed to an emergency veterinary hospital where she is now receiving lifesaving care. Her medical team is working to manage her pain, clean and treat her wounds, prevent infection, and carefully monitor her condition. Because burn injuries can worsen over time, Phoebe will remain hospitalized until veterinarians determine that she is stable enough to continue her recovery under our care. While we are relieved that Phoebe is finally safe, her journey is only beginning. Emergency hospitalization, medications, wound care, diagnostics, and ongoing treatment are expensive, but this sweet kitten deserves every chance to heal and experience the loving life she was denied. Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Inc. could not turn away from Phoebe's suffering, but we cannot do this alone. Please consider making a donation toward Phoebe's medical care. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will help provide the treatment she needs to recover from this unimaginable cruelty. Together, we can show Phoebe that not all humans are capable of harm—that many are capable of kindness, compassion, and love. 7/7/26 Update We wanted to share an update on our brave little fighter, Phoebe. Recovery has not been easy for this sweet kitten. During her hospitalization, Phoebe developed panleukopenia, a serious and highly contagious viral disease that can be life-threatening, especially for young kittens. It was a heartbreaking setback just as she was beginning to recover from the horrific acid burns she suffered. Thankfully, Phoebe is proving just how resilient she is. She remains hospitalized, where the veterinary team continues to provide around-the-clock treatment, supportive care, and careful monitoring. We are happy to report that Phoebe is eating well, and her bright little personality is slowly beginning to shine through again. She is becoming more alert, perking up a little more each day, and giving us hope that she is heading in the right direction. While these are encouraging signs, Phoebe still has a long road ahead. She will need to remain in the hospital until her medical team is confident she is strong enough to continue her recovery safely. Between her burn injuries and her battle with panleukopenia, she continues to require intensive veterinary care. We are so grateful to everyone who has donated, shared her story, and kept Phoebe in your thoughts. Your compassion is giving this precious kitten the chance to heal from unimaginable cruelty and experience the love and care she has always deserved. Please donate and share her campaign as the costs are climbing as she stays in the hospital. 7/12/26 Update Phoebe continues to receive dedicated care from our veterinary team as she recovers from the unimaginable injuries she suffered before her rescue. While her healing journey has been challenging, she continues to show us just how resilient she is. Every day, she grows a little stronger, and we remain hopeful as she continues making progress. Her team is closely monitoring her condition, providing ongoing wound care, medications, nutritional support, and everything she needs to help her body heal. Recovery from injuries like Phoebe's takes time, patience, and continued veterinary attention, but she is surrounded by people who are committed to giving her every chance at a happy, healthy future. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated, shared her story, and kept Phoebe in their thoughts. Your kindness has already made a tremendous difference, allowing us to provide the lifesaving treatment and compassionate care she deserves. As Phoebe continues her recovery, her medical expenses continue to grow. If you're able, please consider making a donation to help cover her ongoing hospitalization, medications, follow-up care, and treatment. Every gift, no matter the size, helps ensure Phoebe receives the care she needs while also allowing us to continue rescuing other animals facing unimaginable circumstances. Thank you for believing in Phoebe and helping turn her story from one of unimaginable cruelty into one of hope, healing, and love. 7/28/26 Update We are so happy to share another wonderful update on our sweet girl, Phoebe. When Phoebe first came into our care, she had endured unimaginable cruelty. Abandoned on the streets and suffering from severe acid burns, she was fighting for her life. As if that wasn't enough, she developed panleukopenia during her hospitalization, creating yet another obstacle on her long road to recovery. Today, we're thrilled to say that Phoebe has come so far. She is doing very well and has an excellent appetite, eagerly eating her meals and growing stronger each day. Seeing her enjoy food and regain her energy is a huge milestone and a testament to her incredible resilience. Phoebe is still receiving treatment as she continues to heal. Her burn wounds are improving nicely, and she remains on topical medications to help them heal properly. She is also receiving injections to treat her anemia, along with antibiotics to eliminate the blood parasites that were discovered during her recovery. While she still has some healing ahead of her, her veterinary team is very pleased with the progress she continues to make. Looking back at where Phoebe started, her transformation has been nothing short of remarkable. Thanks to the compassionate veterinary team and the incredible generosity of supporters like you, this little kitten has gone from fighting for her life to looking forward to a future filled with hope. From everyone at Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Inc., thank you for standing beside Phoebe throughout her journey. Your donations, shares, and words of encouragement made it possible for her to receive the lifesaving care she desperately needed. Because of your kindness, Phoebe was given the chance to heal—not only from her physical injuries, but from the cruelty she experienced. She now has the opportunity to grow into the happy, healthy cat she was always meant to be. Thank you for believing in Phoebe and for making her second chance possible.

Attacked and Injured: Billo Needs a Metal Plate to Walk Again

Sherman Oaks, CA • Death Row Dogs Rescue

Billo's life changed in an instant. This sweet boy was attacked by a large neighborhood terrier, suffering a devastating fracture to his leg. His family rushed him to an emergency veterinary hospital, hoping to get him the help he desperately needed. Unfortunately, the cost of the necessary surgery was far beyond what they could afford. That's when Death Row Dogs Rescue stepped in. Billo was surrendered into our care so he could receive the lifesaving medical treatment he needs. He is currently safe with one of our temporary medical fosters, where he is receiving love, comfort, and around the clock care while we work to save his leg. After being evaluated by our veterinarian and having X-rays performed, we learned that Billo's injury is severe. To properly heal the fractured bone and give him the best chance at a normal, pain free life, he requires orthopedic surgery to place a metal plate on the bone. Without this procedure, the injury may not heal correctly, and amputation could become the only option. Billo has already been through so much. He deserves the chance to run, play, and live the happy life every dog deserves. We are asking for your help to raise funds for his surgery and recovery. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward Billo's medical care, including his surgery, follow-up appointments, medications, and rehabilitation. Please help us save Billo's leg and give him a second chance.

Tinky's Life Changed in an Instant

Burnsville, MN • Baw Baw Animal Welfare

This handsome 2-year-old cat was brought into care after being struck in a traffic accident, suffering multiple traumatic injuries that required immediate veterinary intervention. When Tinky arrived at the clinic, he was bleeding from both his nose and ears, both alarming signs that raised concerns about a potentially serious head injury. He also had a painful 2 cm laceration beneath his lower jaw. Tinky is fighting hard. The veterinary team acted quickly to stabilize him. His jaw wound was carefully cleaned and sutured, and he was admitted to the hospital for intensive monitoring and treatment. Because of the suspected head injury, Tinky remains under close observation while receiving round-the-clock care. His treatment is extensive and includes IV antibiotics to prevent infection, medications to manage pain and inflammation, supportive therapies to protect his digestive system, and specialized medications to help control bleeding. He is also receiving IV fluids and glucose therapy to keep him hydrated, nourished, and strong while his body works to heal. Accidents like this can leave animals with injuries that are not always visible at first, which is why ongoing monitoring and veterinary care are so critical for Tinky's recovery. While the next few days are important, we are hopeful that with the right treatment and support, he can overcome this terrible ordeal. Baw Baw Animal Welfare is committed to giving Tinky every chance possible, but the costs of emergency hospitalization, medications, diagnostics, and ongoing care add up quickly. We are asking for your help today. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps provide the lifesaving treatment Tinky needs. If you're unable to donate, sharing his story can help us reach others who can. Tinky has already survived the accident. Now he needs our help to heal, recover, and return to the safe and happy life every cat deserves. 7/23/26 Update Because of your incredible compassion and support, we are thrilled to share that Tinky's story has the happy ending we were all hoping for. After receiving the emergency veterinary care he needed following his traumatic accident, Tinky made a wonderful recovery and has officially found his forever home! While we had hoped to share updated photos of Tinky with his new family, we were unfortunately unable to obtain any. However, his adopter shared that they are so happy with him and that he is settling into his new life beautifully. Knowing that Tinky has gone from fighting for his life after being hit by a car to being safe, loved, and cherished in a forever home is the best update we could ask for. This happy ending would not have been possible without the generosity of everyone who donated, shared his campaign, and kept Tinky in their thoughts. Your support helped provide the lifesaving treatment he needed and gave him a second chance at the life every cat deserves. On behalf of Tinky and everyone at Baw Baw Animal Welfare, thank you for making this incredible transformation possible. Stories like Tinky's remind us that when compassionate people come together, hope truly can change a life.

Chance

We Took a Chance on Chance — Now We Need Your Help

West Palm Beach, FL • Wild Whiskers, Inc.

When we first spotted Chance at a community cat colony, she was sitting alone with one eye completely crusted shut. She looked exhausted, sick, and defeated. The colony caretaker warned us that Chance was feral and couldn't be handled. But when we approached her, she didn't run. Instead, this frightened little cat was so sick that she simply allowed herself to be picked up and placed into a carrier, as if she knew this might be her only opportunity for help. We rushed Chance to the veterinarian, hoping her condition could be treated with medication and that she could eventually return to her colony. Testing revealed that she was battling calicivirus, a contagious viral infection that can cause painful respiratory symptoms, mouth ulcers, and eye problems. Despite weeks of antibiotics, eye drops, and intensive treatment, her eye continued to deteriorate. Then came the devastating news. A veterinary ophthalmologist discovered that the lesion in Chance's eye had become dangerously deep and was threatening both her vision and the eye itself. Without immediate intervention, she could lose it entirely. Her only chance was emergency corneal graft surgery. The procedure was expensive, and as a small rescue, we weren't sure how we would afford it. But we couldn't turn our backs on her. Chance had fought too hard to give up now. We said yes. The surgery was successful, and after weeks of recovery and round-the-clock medications, Chance kept her eye and retained her vision. But her battle wasn't over. Once her eye stabilized, veterinarians discovered she was suffering from severe stomatitis, a painful inflammatory condition that was making it difficult for her to eat and live comfortably. Despite our hopes of saving some of her teeth, the disease was so advanced that a full-mouth extraction became necessary. After another major surgery and a brief setback involving infection and inflammation, Chance finally began to feel better. Today, this incredible cat is thriving. She plays. She eats comfortably. She gains weight. She enjoys life. For the first time in a very long time, Chance is living without constant pain. Unfortunately, her medical journey came at a significant cost. Between diagnostics, specialist consultations, emergency eye surgery, medications, dental surgery, and follow-up care, her treatment has totaled nearly $3,000. Chance may have started out as a feral colony cat that many people would have overlooked, but we saw a cat worth fighting for. Now we're asking for your help. Your donation will help cover Chance's outstanding veterinary expenses and allow us to continue rescuing cats facing medical emergencies just like hers. Every gift, no matter the size, helps give vulnerable cats the second chance they deserve. Please donate today and help us continue saying "yes" when the next Chance comes along. 7/8/26 Update We wanted to share an update on our precious girl, Chance. We're happy to say that, overall, Chance has been doing wonderfully and continues to bring so much joy to everyone around her. She has fully embraced the good life and absolutely loves her automatic butterfly toy, happily batting and chasing it for hours at a time. Seeing her play so carefree is a beautiful reminder of just how far she's come since being rescued. Chance also remains incredibly close to her colony mate, Patriot. They came into our rescue together, and we're so grateful they've been able to stay by each other's side. She still insists on eating next to him, follows him wherever he goes, and has even made friends with the other foster kitties. Watching them all play together is a heartwarming sight that reminds us why every rescue is worth the fight. Unfortunately, over the past few days, we've noticed that Chance has been meowing much more than usual and seems uncomfortable. Because of these changes, she'll be heading back to the veterinarian for an examination. Given her history of severe stomatitis and previous infections, we're concerned that she may be experiencing inflammation or another complication, and we want to address it as quickly as possible before it becomes more serious. Please keep Chance in your thoughts as we work to get answers and make sure she's comfortable again. We're hopeful that this is something that can be treated quickly so she can get back to enjoying her toys, her friends, and the happy, pain-free life she fought so hard to achieve. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for believing in Chance and making her incredible journey possible. Your compassion has given her a second chance at life, and we're forever grateful. If you're able, please consider making a donation to help cover Chance's ongoing veterinary care. Every gift helps provide the examinations, diagnostics, medications, and treatment she may need while also allowing us to continue rescuing other vulnerable cats facing medical emergencies. Together, we can ensure Chance—and so many others like her—continue to receive the care they deserve. 7/12/26 Update Chance continues to do well and enjoys the comfort and love of her foster home. She has come such a long way from the frightened, sick colony cat we first rescued, and seeing her happy, playful, and surrounded by friends is something we're incredibly grateful for. As with many cats who have overcome serious medical challenges, Chance still requires ongoing veterinary monitoring to make sure she stays healthy and comfortable. Her rescue journey didn't end with her surgeries, and we remain committed to providing her with whatever care she needs to continue thriving. We're so thankful to everyone who has supported Chance along the way. Your kindness gave her the opportunity to receive lifesaving treatment, recover from years of pain, and experience the life every cat deserves. If you're able to help, please consider making a donation to support Chance's continued veterinary care. Every contribution helps cover follow-up visits, diagnostics, medications, and any future treatment she may need. Your generosity also allows us to say "yes" to the next vulnerable cat who arrives needing urgent medical care. 7/28/26 Update Thanks to your incredible generosity, Chance is healed and doing so well! Her eye and mouth have fully healed, and the infection, inflammation, and pain are finally gone. After everything she has been through, it is such a joy to see her feeling comfortable, happy, and full of life again. Chance is now able to play, explore, and spend her days cuddling with her brother, Patriot. Seeing her healthy, pain-free, and enjoying life is the outcome we all hoped for. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who donated, shared, and supported Chance's journey. Your kindness gave her the medical care she needed and the chance to live the happy, healthy life she deserves. We are so grateful for each and every one of you well! Scrappy's life was almost cut short. Please show him his life matters.

Murphy, TX • CAMO Rescue

For the fourth day in a row, Camo Rescue stepped in to save a dog facing emergency euthanasia. This sweet boy is only about a year old, and his life was almost tragically cut short. He arrived injured, with wounds that suggest he may have been hit by a car or possibly suffered burns. Despite his pain and fear, he has remained incredibly gentle and loving. With no one coming for him and his time running out, euthanasia was his next stop. Thankfully, Camo Rescue said yes. Now, his journey to healing begins. He needs veterinary care, diagnostics, treatment, and time to recover from both his physical and emotional wounds. As a rescue, taking on emergency cases day after day comes at a significant cost, but leaving him behind was never an option. Please consider making a donation to help cover his medical expenses and give this young dog the second chance he so desperately deserves. Every dollar helps, and every share could bring him one step closer to a happy, healthy future. Thank you for helping us save lives when they need it most. 6/27/26 Update After his vet appointment this week, our vet confirmed our worst fears- that he was probably dragged. He will need FHO surgery after his skin heals. 7/25/26 Update Scrappy is doing much better, but he's still recovering from his skin infection and injury.

Balloon

Balloon experienced unimaginable cruelty. Will you show her some love?

Kewaskum, WI • Stray Dog Support

Balloon's story is another heartbreaking reminder of the cruelty that so many stray dogs endure. When Stray Dog Support found Balloon, she had suffered unimaginable abuse. Someone had cut her with a knife and tied a rope tightly around her neck, leaving her injured, frightened, and fighting to survive. No animal should ever have to experience that kind of suffering. Today, Balloon is safe and receiving the care she desperately needs, but her journey is far from over. She faces ongoing medical treatments, wound care, and a long recovery process before she can truly begin to heal—both physically and emotionally. Despite everything she has endured, Balloon continues to show remarkable resilience. With every act of kindness, every share, and every donation, you are helping her move one step closer to the life she deserves. We are asking for your support to help cover Balloon's medical expenses and ongoing care. No donation is too small, and every dollar makes a difference in his recovery. Please donate if you can and share Balloon's story. Together, we can show her that while humans caused her pain, compassion and kindness will help him heal. 6/27/26 Update Balloon is still receiving treatment to fully heal. We are thankful for your continued support. 8/4/26 Update Thanks to all of you, Balloon is continuing to heal in the hospital in Cairo, Egypt. Her neck wound is still proving to be the biggest challenge, but the swelling in her face is slowly going down. Healing takes time. She is the sweetest girl with the kindest, most gentle energy, and we’re so grateful she’s getting the care she needs. Once she is healed, she has an adopter waiting for her in the U.S.
