Sami
Sami is a 10 year old Yorkshire Terrier in Hampstead, NC, who needs $10,000 for CT Scan and Oral Surgical Procedure.
Hampstead, NC
Sami lives with her 3 non fur sisters, mom and dad. Sami was the only one in her litter and we thankfully were able to adopt her! She was under 3 months old when she became our girl! She's a Maltese/ Yorkie. Sami came at a time of particular heartbreak for me, after suffering a miscarriage, I didn't realize how much I would come to love and need her. She is so loved and fills a special place. Sami has a cancerous tumor in her mouth. We have caught it early but the surgery to remove the cancer and vaccine to prevent further disease spreading is far too expensive for us. Sami doesn't know she is a doggy! She is a sister, the snuggler and cheese taster. She is emotionally aware of any heartache in our house and tends to her family with love and attention when we are in need. She uses her little paws like hands and will force herself into your arms- favorite place is on a blanket on my legs or curled up with her dad or sisters. She's the best nurse too for all! We didn't realize what a huge financial crisis it would be to have a dog I'll with cancer. None of the life saving treatments are inexpensive. I am personally seeking a job. Money is tight and we have not prepared for this type of situation.

Isabella Marie
Isabella Marie is a 3 year old French Bulldog in Newport , NC, who needs $7,000 for Emergency Surgery for Septic Pyometra.
Newport, NC
Isabella (aka Bella) was given to me when she was 6 weeks old. From the moment I saw her I was in love with her. She is my best friend and loves traveling with me in the car. Isabella had to be rushed into surgery yesterday evening because she had developed aseptic pyometra infection in her uterus with acute kidney damage. She was immediately taken to the Eastern Carolina Veterinary Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina where she underwent surgery to remove the infection followed by a hospital stay involving daily bloodwork and medication. This little girl brings a smile to my face every time I see her. She has an outgoing personality and loves everyone she meets. She is my best friend and my companion. I am a full time Graduate student with a 4.0 GPA at Capella University where I am studying to become a Substance Abuse Counselor. In addition, I am working several part time positions that barely cover my living expenses and am expected to pay $7,000 total for her care.

Beau Jackson Harrison
Beau Jackson Harrison is a 7 year old Chihuahua in Wilmington, NC, who needs $7,500 for Orthopedic Surgery.
Wilmington, NC
Our dog came into our lives by the birth of two dogs we already have in the home. We named him Beau Jackson after my brothers favorite football player. Beau is a very energetic and happy dog that has brought so much joy and laughter into our lives. Seeing him like this breaks our hearts. Beautiful just isn’t just a dog he is a valuable member of our family that we love with all of our hearts. We are seeking assistance to get help with getting his broken jaw fixed and possible TBI after getting hit by a car on March 27th. Beau isn’t himself. We just want to see him as himself. Beau is a lover of all of his toys. When we come home, he greets us with his favorite toy of the day. His BFFs are his mom and dad. Beau is a very loving dog and happy when someone is being taken care of. We are on a fixed income so it makes it hard to afford anything outside of bills. I lost my job in August 2025. This meant that we lost the main source of income.

Mazie
Mazie is a 10 year old Dachshund in Hampstead, NC, who needs $3,000 for Hemilaminectomy (IVDD Spinal Surgery).
Hampstead, NC
I had my Baby Mazie since she was 8 weeks old. She came to me as a gift from my Mom 6 months before she suddenly past on. So Mazie which my Mom named her is extremely special to me. She's been with me through so much & as a disabled Sr she has been my Best Friend & My Everything. Mazie also is my husband riding companion. She loves to go for rides in his truck & goes crazy when she hears the key Mazie suffered a sudden, severe T11-T12 spinal rupture (IVDD). She had emergency surgery at Eastern Carolina Veterinary Medical Center to save her legs. She’s a fighter—she’s already trying to stand and went potty on her own today! We've paid $7,200 but need help with the final ICU balance to get her home this Friday. We are dedicated to her rehab and her future. Mazie is the heartbeat of our home. As a disabled owner, I rely on her for constant emotional support, but she is also my husband’s best friend—she’s his favorite riding companion in the truck everywhere he goes. She is sassy, loyal, and incredibly intuitive. She isn't just a pet; she’s a family member who fills our lives with joy whether we’re at home or on the road together. I’m on Social Security Disability and my husband is my caregiver. This month, my $2,000 eye surgery and Mazie’s $10,000 spinal surgery hit at once. We gave our last $1,200 and maxed our $6,000 CareCredit. We are at $0. Having Mazie healthy means our family is whole again.

Groot
Groot is a 7 year old Miniature Schnauzer in Jacksonville, NC, who needs $7,000 for Hemilaminectomy.
Jacksonville, NC
Groot became part of our family in May 2018. Groot was an angel sent from heaven to give comfort, and unconditional love after the death of my mother. Groot brings so much joy and peace to this family. Your every step is his step. There is no such thing as your space when he is around. He has a small frame but a huge heart of love. Right before Christmas the leader of walks had become the follower. Groot could not jump and run. After several visits to the vets, medication, X-ray and a cat scan it was found the Groot has a rapture disk that would require back surgery. Groot favorite people are his papa, mama, sister and his nephew Eli. Groot loves to play with his white towel wrapping himself up like a ghost and his grey rabbit. He loves chasing the broom. He loves to ride, when he hears the keys he knows it time to windsurf., We are on a fixed income. The thought of not having the means to help Groot has caused so much despair and depression. Watching him in so much pain is gut wrenching. He has been a part of our family for 7 yrs thru birthdays and holidays he is dearly loved.

Butter
Butter is a 4 year old Labrador Retriever in Rocky Point, NC, who needs $5,000 for CCL Repair, Reattach Tendon.
Rocky Point, NC
Its hard to know where to start, so I guess I will start at the beginning. One cold day in Nov when my daughter was around 3 or 4 years old we decided to go to the park. This park was a special one, the play equipment is surrounded by trees. I was pushing my daughter on the swings when this small black ball came out of the woods whimpering at us. We knew right away she was coming home with us. This poor puppy was so small and sick, throwing up everything, we did not think she would live. Our vet said she was around 4 or 5 weeks old and was lucky to have found us. My daughter named her Butter, which is a running joke because butter is the one thing my daughter has never liked or wanted to eat. Butter is an amazing dog. Once she was old enough my daughter and I would take her to training classes together, we learned how to teach a dog, we learned how to work together with a dog. Butter slowly became the center of our family and my daughter's life. Butter sleeps with my daughter every night, a loyal friend that has helped her through nightmares, being afraid of the dark and sad tears on the occasion. Butter goes to the beach with us, walks trails with us and is always at the door to welcome us home. The Monday before Christmas this year while racing my daughter to bed Butter fell on our wood floors. We did not know how serious it was until the Wednesday after when she spent the whole day at the emergency vet. Turns out Butter's fall caused damage, something called a CCL injury. According to the emergency vet, the only fix, is surgery. Since the accident Butter has been forced to sleep downstairs and my daughter has cried her eyes out every night wanting her friend, who sits at the base of the steps whimpering in turn. We went to the Eastern Carolina Veterinary medical center who has been treating her with pain meds and said surgery is our only option. We have called around a few other places, they do not offer the surgery and have no non-surgical options for us. I don't know how to tell my daughter that we do not have the funds to fix her best friend. On paper my husband and I should be able to afford this surgery, and if it came at a different time we would have. I used to work ems and due to that job I injured by back. I have had two back surgeries and a hernia surgery which ate away our savings. My husband has to have surgery on both of his feet this year. I recently changed jobs where I am a mental health therapist, I work everyday helping others and provide a reduced price for those in need, my husband is a butcher at a grocery store. We both work hard, we do everything we can to take care of our family which includes Butter. I feel a large amount of guilt in being unable to help Butter because of my and my husband's medical needs. She is family, she is so special to my daughter and myself. Please help us help her.

Bella
Bella is a 12 year old Yorkshire Terrier in Wilmington, NC, who needs $2,000 for Diagnosis and Treatment.
Wilmington, NC
Bella was given to my dad by my brother in law’s sister when she was about 6 months old because they didn’t have the time to care for her. Since my dad was disabled, I was the one that mostly took care of her until she fully belonged to me when she was about 2 years old and it has just been me and her together this whole time. She is everything to me and all that I have left. Bella started not acting like her usual self about 2 months ago. Her vision became bad and she is almost fully blind. She also is circling, vomiting, unable to walk, collapsing, tilting her head, won’t eat, among many other issues. I have not went to the vet yet, but am about to tonight. I do not have the funds to pay my rent right now, so I definitely cannot afford veterinary treatment for her. Bella has not been acting like her usual self. She has lost interest in all of the things that made her herself. She loved to explore, is very inquisitive, extremely friendly and loves everyone, especially kids, she loves to cuddle, likes making new friends with other dogs, going outside/being outside, loves bathing in the sun, loves food of course, going on car rides, and going on walks. I lost my job recently, since then I’ve been doing temporary seasonal work. I can’t even pay my rent. My Bella comes first, she is my everything. I just want her to be well and her usual self again. It would mean the world to me if I could receive help to make my baby better

Venom
Venom is a 7 year old Dachshund in Atkinson, NC, who needs $8,000 for Relieve the Nerves in Lower Spine.
Atkinson, NC
Venom, is 7 years old. My son and daughter named him after watching the movie when he was 3, her 13. We saved him as a preemie from a unsafe crowded home. He's grown into a strong, healthy, very happy and active important part of our family and is just as important as my children. Hes their brother, our protector, and so much more. Venom woke us up whining at 4 a.m because he couldn't get on bed and noticed he was dragging his back legs. The emergency vet said it his lower spine vertebrae is pinching off his nerves. Said it was common with this breed. We were given two choices, to do surgery at eastern Carolina veternarian or to be euthanized. He's still trying to be active, eat, just can't use back legs. Venom stays along side me everywhere I go including the bathroom but he spends time with both kids. He and Ozzy, our cat, play constantly always running around our large piece of property. The surgery is up to 8 grand and we only have a couple of days to make the decision. We had to replace our roof with our savings and have no way of coming up with the funds. How do you say bye because you can't afford surgery. We are all inconsolerable praying for a miracl

Loki
Loki is a 8 year old American Bulldog in Wilmington , NC, who needs $1,550 for Gastric Ileus Supportive Care.
Wilmington, NC
Loki was first introduced to me as my neighbors dog and from the very first time we met he was so oddly attached to me. I watched him grow up and was well aware of his bond w me. I moved and 3 years later over a hour away I got called to triage a critical patient and low and behold it was Loki barely alive mangled by housemates and they wanted to euthanize...he started his new life w me that day. Loki was being treated by the DVMs at my job for a suspected abdominal mass. Ultrasound sound was ordered but due to his stomach being overly full of food she couldn't see and told me to fast and come back. Rechecked X-rays. and due to size of stomach we went straight to eastern Carolina veterinary referral where he was admitted and treatment for gastric ileus began. Digestive tract was not workin Loki literally goes everywhere w me even to work everyday. He's just the best dog Its clear there is a huge bond between us and truthfully after he became mine he saved me from giving into suicide bc all I could think about was what's going to happen to him. He's going to miss me so much I can't do that to him and that's what kept me moving forward. He is my soul dog to know Loki is to love loki I just moved to a new town new job I already put about 800 into his care at my job and the ultrasound same day he's admitted and I'm staring at a $1550 bill and just dont have it.

Bruno
Bruno is a 3 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Sneads Ferry, NC, who needs $2,000 for Intervertebral Disc Surgery.
Sneads Ferry, NC
Bruno is a three-year-old black/brown Pitbull with the gentlest soul. He came to our family after a breeder could no longer care for him, and from the very beginning he's been a blessing in our lives. Bruno lives in a quiet, rural town, where he can safely roam, sniff, and explore. Our three young kids are his favorite companions, and he has quickly become their loyal protector. Bruno is suffering from sudden onset paralysis in his hind legs, and has been diagnosed with IVDD (slipped disc). He was under emergency care, and is looking at a long road to recovery with surgery and rehab. The vet says he has roughly an 80% chance of walking again. He's responding to deep pain cues and has not lost bowel or bladder control, so we remain hopeful. Bruno is a playful, sweet soul who loves soaking up the sun on the deck or lounging in a favorite chair. He bursts with excitement when visitors arrive, often showing off his zoomies. Our young son is his best buddy, but Bruno also enjoys playing with other dogs. He's a joyful, well-rounded companion who brings love wherever he goes. Our family lives on a single income and has always tried to be modest while raising our children. With the rising cost of living, it's been difficult to keep up-and now we're facing the heavy financial strain of an unexpected emergency surgery for our beloved dog.

Bella
Bella is a 5 month old Australian Shepherd in Wilmington, NC, who needs $2,000 for Fracture Surgery.
Wilmington, NC
Bella is my emotional support animal as a cancer survivor. I made it through my chemo and radiation treatments in 2023 and spent most of 2024 recovering and testing. I got Bella at 8 weeks and she was the light of my life a new beginning and opportunity to live my life again! She is my recovery and inspiration to get outside to walk, run and play! I’m not sure how much people know about Aussies but they are a herder breed and love you! She was simply on my lap and climbing up my shoulder giving me kisses and made her way up around my neck. Then she was playing and kissing me and fell off the back of the recliner where she sustained a spiral fracture to her tibia! Heartbreaking injury and she was in co much pain my heart sank… Bella is a young puppy and deserves the best life! Hopefully her surgery will get her back on her feet but these last weeks have been stressful for her and me and my wife. The splints have not worked but yet this loving dog still never meets a stranger and loves everyone! She is a gift that has been bestowed on my behalf to take care of her because my lord and savior took care of me! This is a going to be substantially challenging in terms of surgical expenses and out of nowhere and needless to say on top of insurmountable medical bills already…

Wolfie
Wolfie is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in Wilmington, NC, who needs $2,000 for Crystalloid Fluid Boluses to Treat Pyothorax.
Wilmington, NC
Wolfie (short for Wolfgang) and his two siblings, Muffy and Birdie, were born in a motel. We retrieved all three kittens with the intention of keeping two but quickly fell in love with them all. They were only 6 weeks old, too young to leave their mom, so they remained very bonded to each other; particularly Wolfie and Birde. Wolfie is still a big baby and especially bonded to his sister Birdie. Wolfie had an adverse reaction to topical flea treatment and became lethargic and uninterested in his regular activities. It quickly became evident that Wolfie's health was in decline. We rushed him to eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral and discovered Wolfie was in critical condition diagnosed with pyothorax. He remains in critical care, but his prognosis for survival is positive. Wolfie is the very vocal and must involve himself in all our kitchen activities. We jokingly call him "beggar kitty" because he cannot get enough treats. Our 5-pound chihuahua, Joy has been a mother to Wolfie and his siblings since they came to us. Although Wolfie and his siblings are very big in size, they still allow Joy to scold them when she sees fit and give them baths. We both became unemployed in the last six months. Our family of 3 is now on government assistance to cover food and health care. When Wolfie became sick we were devastated and heartbroken. We would do anything to help Wolfie live the long and happy life that he so deserves.

Gunner
Gunner is a 11 year old English Springer Spaniel in Sneads ferry, NC, who needs $2,000 for Open Fracture Orthopedic Surgery, Right Front Leg.
Sneads ferry, NC
Gunner was my wife’s Valentine’s Day gift in 2014 and has traveled the world and across country throughout the past 11 years of my active duty service in the Marines. He is more than just a pet, he’s our emotional support dog and most of all he is family. On Friday April 18th Gunner was involved in a dog fight in which his right front leg was bitten and his leg bone was fractured. Due to the open wound and close proximity to the fracture, orthopedic surgery is required no later then the 21st according to the Vet Dr at VEG Raleigh Pet ER and a referral was put in to the Eastern Carolina Refferal Surgery center in Whilmington. Gunner is one of two Springer Spaniels in our home and he offers my wife emotional support through her disabilities and is acutely in tune with her emotionally. He also shares his unconditional love with our grandchildren and follows them around when visiting and loves just being in their presence. Being a combat vet Gunner also provides me with emotional support and grounding. Due to unexpected vet bills earlier in the month and the ER fees for diagnosis, radiology, and initial treatment we have depleted our savings and are unable to fund his emergency surgery tomorrow. Seeing Gunner immobile and in pain with every move of his leg is heartbreaking

Tangelo
Tangelo is a 8 year old Mix-Breed in southport, NC, who needs $2,000 for Perineal Urethrostomy (PU) Surgery.
southport, NC
Tangelo has been with me for eight years, since he was just a few months old. A friend of mine's mother was fostering him and she thought of me to be his forever home! Tangelo came to me when I was in my first house after moving out of my parents' for the first time, joining the girl cats I'd gotten the year before. Tangelo's been with me for my move to Tennessee, and my return move to NC. My mother noticed Tangelo straining to urinate and not being able to while I was at work on Thursday, March 27th. I called my best friend to take us to the emergency vet about an hour from my house -- Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral. His urinary tract was 95% blocked and I took out a loan to fund his treatment. However after a day and a half home, he's back at ECVR for a re-block. Tangelo is SO chatty and super cuddly but only on his terms. You can only pet him in three specific places but the second you're sitting he's in your lap, making biscuits and purring. He is peak orange cat behavior, there's not logic to him just pure vibes. His favorite toy is his carrot kicker and he loves to go to town on his twine scratching post! Tangelo headbutts me awake when he wants pets! I am a full-time college student and full-time server at The Clubs at St. James. The vet bills have already put me almost $3000 into debt and I have exhausted my financial resources. The vet encourages a PU surgery to prevent blocks from reoccurring.

Bagel
Bagel is a 2.5 year old Mix-Breed in Wilmington, NC, who needs $2,000 for Perineal Urethrostomy (PU Surgery).
Wilmington, NC
We adopted Bagel in November 2022 from a local shelter as a two month old kitten. Since Day 1, he has been the sweetest boy. He has two other siblings, Muffin and Toast (yes, we have an at home bakery lol). They are both younger than Bagel and look to him for everything. They have been completely lost and confused without him home. They miss their brother. Bagel is currently hospitalized at Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral for his second urinary obstruction since February 15th, 2025. He is suffering obstructions, along with a prolapsed penis. In order to leave the hospital, prevent further obstructions and live a pain free life, he is in need of Perineal Urethrostomy. Our story actually begins with Bagel, our first baby together and he’s changed our lives. Bagel is the most gentle, loving, kind cat most people will ever meet.He loves cuddling every night, whether it be us or his kitty siblings. He shows nothing but love, even when he’s in pain. Bagel has made many non cat lovers into BIG cat lovers. He means everything to our family. Urinary obstructions are sudden, and unexpected. There was no way for us to know that Bagel would need almost $8000 in medical bills (after two obstructions and surgery) to continue living a healthy, pain free life. We have exhausted all savings that we have.

Kibby
Kibby is a 6 year old Snowshoe in Wilmington , NC, who needs $2,000 for Pneumonia.
Wilmington, NC
I have set this fundraiser up for Kibby. Kibby is at the ECVR being treated for pneumonia and is waiting to see a specialist. We could really use some help with her care. Kibby is Alyssa’s emotional support kitty and we want to see her make a full recovery. Kibby is only 6.5 years old and when we went to visit her today, it was clear that it is not her time to go. There is no donation to small. Kibby is at the ECVR hospital in Wilmington, NC. Kibby is being treated for pneumonia and we are waiting to have a specialist do further diagnostics. Kibby is Alyssa’s baby. Kibby provides love and companionship to Alyssa. She is the most loving girl. We went to visit her and she greeted her mommy. Kibby has been diagnosed with pneumonia and is currently not stable. She requires additional testing to determine the best course of action. It would mean the world if we can pull her through this.

Roxxy
Roxxy is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in Wilmington, NC, who needs $2,000 for Amputation.
Wilmington, NC
We've had Roxxy since she was about 7 weeks old, and she is now 1 year old. She has never left our sight since then and she means the world to myself and our family. Roxxy escaped from the house on January 16th and was hit by a car. After taking her to the emergency vet (Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral), we learned that her right hindlimb was broken. The veterinarian recommended either surgery or amputation to address the break. She is our only household pet and she means everything to us. She's an emotional support dog for our son. She loves her mom and dad and to play ball. She knows we're coming home before we even get there. Unexpected, major expense with no emergency fund. The veterinarian estimated about $7,000 for surgery and about $2,000 for amputation, so we are opting for amputation because of the lower cost, and surgery is not guaranteed to be 100% effective.

Apollo
Apollo is a 3 year old Whippet in Hampstead , NC, who needs $2,000 for Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) - ACL Surgery.
Hampstead, NC
We got Apollo from a Whippet breeder. He came to us as a puppy 3 years ago. He has two adopted sisters being a miniature dachshund (Artemis) and a Siamese cat (Bella). He loves playing with Artemis they are tied at the hip. One does not go anywhere without the other. My daughter is the one who named both dogs after Apollo and Artemis which are actually brother and sister in Greek mythology. I am seeking financial assistance for Apollo because he needs ACL surgery - cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) repair. Apollo will be spending his Thanksgiving in surgery to get his ACL fixed and then a long-time recovery. Our special situation is that we are a one income house with my daughter and husband both in school. I work 2 jobs and barely make ends meet. I am not looking for a hand out. Apollo likes to run around with Bella and Artemis. He loves zoomies. He loves throwing ball with his dad. He is a very fast runner and as you can imagine since he is a whippet. His ACL has hindered his running and playing. He has to stay cooped up in the house and trying to stay calm all day. Apollo is a very active dog which is hard for him. I am not expecting a handout just some help with the vet bill as the vet bill is around $5300.00. Anything would be helpful at this point. As mentioned above I work two jobs and have two people in college and high school.

Bandit
Bandit is a 2 month old Mix-Breed in Castle Hayne, NC, who needs $2,000 for Femur Surgery.
Castle Hayne, NC
Bandit has just come into our home and has a broken femur. We are blessed to have him and want to bless him back. He is the SWEETEST little love nugget and deserves all this world has to give. He was two of a twelve litter that survived a toxin exposure, before we got him. He just needs this fighting chance at a normal life. All he wants are snuggles and love. I am a single mom of 3 and a teacher. Being able to take care of people is what I do and I just want to be able to help him too. Please, consider donating to give this little guy the life he deserves.

Sully
Sully is a 5 year old Great Dane in Richlands, NC, who needs $2,000 for Amputation.
RICHLANDS, NC
Sully is our beloved indoor Great Dane, living with a family of five—Mom, Dad, Kayla (18), Landyn (13), and Sienna (12). We named him after the gentle giant from Monsters, Inc. because, despite his size, he’s the sweetest, most gentle dog. We've had him since he was 4 months old, and he's spoiled and well-loved, bringing endless joy to our home. Sully was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, an aggressive form of bone cancer. Without treatment, he was given just two months to live. To manage his pain, Sully was prescribed gabapentin, and for swelling, he’s on Rimadyl. His diagnosis and treatment have been handled at Banfield Pet Hospital in Jacksonville. Sully is truly a gentle giant. Despite his size, he’s a huge lap dog who loves to be close to us at all times. He follows us around the house like a loyal puppy, always wanting to be part of whatever we’re doing. His sweet, calm nature and constant companionship make him an irreplaceable member of our family. Sully needs surgery to amputate his leg, costing $5,000-$6,000, plus pre-op bloodwork. While we can handle his weekly medications, the nearly $7,000 surgery cost is overwhelming. We’re doing what we can to keep him comfortable, but this surgery is crucial for his health.

Suki
Suki is a 11 month old Mix-Breed in Winnabow, NC, who needs $2,000 for Patella Surgery.
Winnabow, NC
Hi! My name is Suki! I was recused by my foster moms’ when I was left behind after my original family moved. I’ve had a rough life with no much love or attention when I was younger. Since being with my foster moms’ things have been much better, but I am in a lot of pain. I went to the vet today and was told that I would need surgery on both my patella’s and potentially on my hips in the future. The vet hospital is called Eastern Carolina veterinary referral emergency and speciality.. I love my gorilla who is pictured with me. I love to carry him around and groom him. I can be very sweet and cuddly but I’ve been bitey since I’m in so much pain. My first surgery will cost approximately 6,500.00. Today’s vet visit was approximately $600. My foster moms’ already have 5 other cats and this was very unexpected.

Malcom
Malcom is a 16 month old American Shorthair in Wilmington, NC, who needs $2,000 for Blood Transfusion.
Wilmington, NC
We adopted Malcom (Mac) from a kill shelter last July near Wilmington,NC. We wanted to give his older sister Kaia a friend and we truly lucked out. In the last year, he has brought our little family so much joy. He cuddles with me every night, watches the hummingbirds with his sister, loves to be in everyone’s business and is a constant source of smiles and laughter to everyone around him. Mac was diagnosed with PIMA, a very rare autoimmune disease that attacks his red blood cells making him extremely anemic. Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral has supplied him with 3 blood transfusions within the last 3 weeks. He is on 2 meds that could give him a chance at reaching full remission but because PIMA is so rare nothing is guaranteed and the meds can take on average 28 days to work. Mac is a very special boy. He is a big mamas boy aka my best friend and little shadow who follows me everywhere. He also doesn’t know a stranger and brings joy to everyone he meets. He loves to run around our apartment with his big sis and has taught us all what true kindness and loyalty can look like even from the smallest of creatures. Each transfusion has cost ~ $2k and Mac has had 3. I just graduated college last year so I don’t have savings and have been living paycheck to paycheck even before this happened. I am terrified that I will be forced to choose between saving my baby or reaching financial ruin

Athena
Athena is a 6 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Wilmington, NC, who needs $1,500 for Pain Management, Arthritis Care, Recovery Therapy.
Wilmington, NC
I got Athena when I was 17 in high school still I rescued her from a breeder she was the runt very small, but she waited patiently until I picked her up. I knew nothing about raising a dog, I took her everywhere. Trained her myself watched videos, worked just to feed her. Here we are 6 years later. 1.5-2 years ago she got Lyme disease and it weakened her joints and muscles and caused her CCLs to rupture. At the time I could only afford medication. But now it’s affecting her attitude and I finally was able to get her fixed but a fight between her and my dog broke out and I stepped in and she accidentally bit me. I’m worried she’s is in too much pain and I don’t want to give her up or put her down. My dog has been here for 6 years, she’s been by my side through an abusive break up, my dad passing away and my nana. Who all loved her so much. Everyone loves Athena and she gets spoiled by so many. Because I’ve taken her everywhere with me when I was young. She has inspired so many people to rescue pit bulls. I just had a daughter 10mo ago and every time I save up to take Athena to the vet to get her fixed there is a new issue and I spend the money on that. Finally I got her fixed but her pain caused a fight to break out and she accidentally bit me. Now I am on edge worried

Ripple
Ripple is a 8 year old Mix-Breed in Wilmington , NC, who needs $2,000 for Fungus Treatment.
Wilmington, NC
I rescued Ripple in September 2020, he was a scraggly boy with heart worms but he had my heart the moment I saw him at the shelter. I took him home, gave him oat baths and fed him well and soon enough his hair started growing in - I didn’t know he was a long hair dog when I adopted him! I got him healthy and he’s been by my side ever since. We thought the worst was behind us. In April 2024, I noticed Ripple had yellow mucus from his right nostril. I took him to the Vet every other week, trying to figure out what was going on. Earlier this month, Ripple had a severe nose bleed that put him in the hospital at Eastern Carolina in Wilmington, NC. He was diagnosed with a fungal infection in his sinus. He’s had two surgeries and needs another one. Ripple LOVES all toys, but doesn’t like to share, and would trade me for a piece of cheese. He is always up for a walk and loves a good dog park. He has become an emotional support to me and can always tell how I’m feeling. He greeted me with excitement when I redeployed after 9 months, he sat with me in bed while I healed from 3 foot surgeries and just knows when I need a hug. I am being medically discharged from the military, losing my steady income and have already drained my savings with Ripples previous treatments. I can’t imagine a life without him so I’m willing to do anything to get him healthy again.

Kona
Kona is a 7 year old Mix-Breed in Wilmington, NC, who needs $2,000 for Surgery and Continued Care.
Wilmington, NC
My Grandparents were looking for a new puppy after they had to put down their beloved lab. My partner and I helped them with that search and were not planning to get a puppy of our own since we already had two pups. Well, that all changed and we snagged two puppies from that litter. We have Kona and my grandparents have her sister, Roxy. This was in December of 2016. Kona is in surgery as I am typing this for a possible gall bladder rupture. This started with a fever 6 weeks ago that was treated. The fever returned last night and we discovered something major. Kona is a complicated pup and is also on a strict seizure medication regimen. She receives 4 medications twice a day and we have managed to control the seizures over time and many Neurology appointments. My friends and family joke that I am Kona's support human. She is my shadow! She is food-driven, LOVES chasing her ball and rolling on it, playing with her sister Madi, loves the water, car rides, walks, beach days, lake days, boat days, you name it! She's a happy pup! My partner passed away unexpectedly in 2020, so Kona holds a very special place in my heart and I HATE seeing her in pain. After leaving a 12 and half year career in law enforcement to pursue a career in real estate, my income is not consistent since I am still new to real estate. The first visit already set me back $2,800 and this surgery is around $7,700 so far.

Ralphie
Ralphie is a 1 year old American Shorthair in Wilmington, NC, who needs $2,000 for Smoke Inhalation Treaments/Antibiotics.
Wilmington, NC
We tragically lost our home in a house fire. Ralphie was the first of our animals to be pulled out of the house. He was rushed to Myrtle Grove Animal Hospital but was transferred to an emergency vet Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral because of his critical condition. He has severe smoke inhalation and respiratory issues. We are still waiting to see if he has been burned. He was rushed to Myrtle Grove Animal Hospital but was transferred to an emergency vet Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral because of his critical condition. Our sweet boy is a cuddle bug and he loves belly rubs. He is a chunky boy that loves to sleep and eat. He has a very long tail so we call him out lemur baby. Ralphie's best friend was his little brother Shelby but Shelby did not survive the house fire. We have a $1,200 vet bill at Myrtle Grove Animal Hospital and an estimate of $3,000 for ongoing treatment at Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral. Unfortunately we do not have pet insurance. We are struggling to figure out how we will pay the bill.

Winnie
Winnie is a 1 year old American Shorthair in Wilmington, NC, who needs $2,000 for Smoke Inhalation Treatments/Antibiotics.
Wilmington, NC
We adopted Winnie a year and a half ago when she was a tiny little kitten. She is the sweetest, sassy little princess you ever met. She is so loveable but definitely has an independent personality. We tragically lost our home in a house fire yesterday. Winnie was the last of our animals to be pulled out of the house. She was rushed to Myrtle Grove Animal Hospital but was transferred to an emergency vet Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral because of her critical condition. She has severe smoke inhalation, eye damage and respiratory issues. Our sweet girl plays fetch with her toys, she is a serious talker and tends to talk back at the most appropriate times. She loves to lay on our chest but doesn't like a blanket on her because she is very independent and a little prissy. We have a $1,200 vet bill at Myrtle Grove Animal Hospital and an estimate of $3,000 for ongoing treatment at Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral. Unfortunately we do not have pet insurance. We are struggling to figure out how we will pay this bill.

Phoebe
Phoebe is a 3 year old Poodle in Winnabow, NC, who needs $2,000 for ICU Care and Orthopedic Surgery.
Winnabow, NC
Phoebe is my beautiful standard poodle. I’ve had her since 4 months of age. She is now over 3 years. Phoebe filled a gap in my heart after I lost my 13 yo golden doodle to cancer. She is the sweetest dog ever and is always happy. She has a dog brother, Shepard whom she loves and two cats that are her constant companions. They are like a pack. Phoebe is loved and adored by my entire family. After moving to a new home that Phoebe was unfamiliar with, she got out of the gate and bolted into the woods. For 12 entire days she was on the run through the forest. Today she was struck by a vehicle trying to cross the highway. I was located through her chip. She has suffered major injuries that will require surgery and is at Eastern Carolina Emergency Hospital. Good prognosis w/surgery Phoebe is a very special member of our family. She is gentle, sweet and kind and loves each of my grandchildren. She patrols when they sleep over taking turns sleeping with them. She filled a gap in our lives left by the loss of an older pet. She is loved and adored by all of us, including her animal family of a German Shepard and two awesome cats. We’ve all been lost without her. This unexpected major expense has come at a difficult time for me; having transitioned to a single income household. I have spent every day and multiple nights out looking for Phoebe. I have lost income as a result, but I would’ve done anything to get her home safely.

Dash
Dash is a 6-year-old Maltese in Leland, NC, who needs $2,000 for Thoracentesis and Diagnostics.
Leland, NC
Dash was adopted from PA in 2018 and made the long car ride from PA to NC like a champ. He currently lives in a home with his people— his dad, his aunt, his sisters, and his furry cat cousins. He’s been healthy his whole life, until now. He loves his family and his family loves him desperately. He sleeps with his auntie every night and he gets so excited to see his dad come home— he knows the sound of his dad’s Jeep and will jump up as soon as he hears it approach the house and then he will wag his tail and whine until dad comes inside and pays attention to him. He loves to antagonize his kitty cousins. He loves his ball— he loves to play catch and he loves to play keep away with just about every toy. He will show it to you and act like he wants you to take it from him to play but then turn away at the last second. He gives snuggles like nobody else. Dash is rapidly going downhill, with fluid accumulating in his chest and abdomen. We were first told he had a respiratory infection and then two weeks later told he was in heart failure, but the medicine we were given didn’t help so we sought yet another opinion and have been told he’s possibly losing protein somehow. He needs diagnostic tests and treatment to make him comfortable urgently. Dash’s dad is recently out of work temporarily and his auntie is on a fixed disability income. This illness came at a terrible time but when somebody is part of your family you try your best for them and so that’s what Dash deserves!

Riot
Riot is a 9-year-old Tortie in Ivanhoe, NC, who needs $2,000 for IV Fluids and Antibiotics.
Ivanhoe, NC
Riot was my birthday gift when i turned 18 years old. Since then, she has been the light of life. I'm almost 27 now and every day has been a blast! She is my best buddy in the whole world. She was there when i moved out the first time, my first break up, and mt first car. I now live on my grandmother's property and she has been with me through it all. Riot has 2 younger brothers that are about twice her size. They are two tabbys named Beans and Tuna. And even though she likes her personal space, she has a soft spot for them and lets them cuddle up to her. Riot is my favorite little lady because she is tiny but mighty. She has the definition of a "Tortie-tude" she will chirp and meow at me until i give her what she wants (most pf the time its me not waking up early enough 2 give her breakfast.) she gets a poofy tail when she's excited and stomps her back little feet. Her meows are tiny but assertive. In small "ow!"s over and over she commands her ma Riot turns 9 years old on the 8th. The last couple of months she has been thirsty and peeing outside the litter box. After a vet visit there was no reason to worry. She was healthy no UTI. Well the issue persists and these past couple days she just hasn't been herself. I spent my whole check on tests for her and i found out that she has leukemia and kidney disease. I need her treated ASAP at an ER 6 months ago i lost my family dog, and i lost my job at the same time. I am just now getting back on my feet. I have to try and save my cat. The vet at college rd. Animal hospital told me to have her hospitalized at the ER for a few days and to form a treatment plan for her

Bella Rose
Bella Rose is a 7-year-old Pomeranian in Wilmington , NC, who needs $2,000 for Hospitalization.
wilmington, NC
Our Bella Rose is a 6-year-old 8lb girl. We call her baby girl. She is the most precious thing in our life, she has a brother named Beau that is a Golden Doodle that is also 7 years old. Them two together share a tremendous bond. Bella is our daughter that we cherish very much. She sleeps in our bed and always ends up at head on our pillow when we wake up. Bella always greets us when we wake up and when we come home from work, she greets us with an infectious smile. She knows when we are hurting as she comforts us humans when we are in need of love. We treat Bella as our child, and she is currently in desperate need of help. Bella is the alpha of our home. Even though her brother is 40lbs heavier. She sets the tone on when he eats and its usually after her...lol She is not afraid of larger dogs and will stand tall and will protect her brother at all costs. She never meets a stranger and brightens everyone's heart she meets when out on her walks. We also walk her 2 times a day for the exercise she needs. Bella is currently experiencing kidney failure and her white blood count is nonexistent. She is battling blood pressure issues that is requiring extensive care by the vet. We got pet care that covered $3500 for surgery and post op care. She has come out of surgery and is fighting for her life but needs additional time at the emergency room. At least 24 more hours. Bella needs a miracle for the additional 24 hours in the vet clinic and my wife and I are tapped out on funds. We are praying for an addition $3,000 to finish her recovery and we can bring our baby girl back home to live a normal life. Never hurts to try this. Praying!

Hazel
Hazel is a 10-year-old Beagle in Wilmington , NC, who needs $2,000 for Severe HGE.
Wilmington, NC
Hazel was a few months old when my Ex and I purchased her at a flea market in Savannah. we divorced and my ex kept her. Our daughter was frequently distraught from the abuse and mistreatment my ex put her through. Kicking, yelling, left outside. She was given back to me when my ex moved & weve had her home since Nov 2023 at 10 yrs old. I have no medical history prior, but shes been very loved here Hazel lives with 1 dog Nova, 2 cats, 1 toddler and 1 teenager. My teen daughter has had Hazel in her life since she was 5 years old and is now 15, she is extremely attached to Hazel. Hazels favorite thing to do is cuddle Ady and steal Ady and Nolan’s food. When she’s not making right turns, she’s looking with her puppy eyes and snoozing on the couch like the old girl she is Hazel is very food motivated, loving, throws her whole head back to howl that beagle howl and only seems to make continuous right turns. She can hear a food bag from a mile away. Extreme cuddler, lover of pets, and she can literally drink a gallon of water In 2 seconds. Also, can make a giant pond on the floor after drinking said water. Softest and floppiest ears around. Definition of “good girl” Hazel’s illness onset was extremely sudden. We woke up 4 times to massive diarrhea/vomit all over the house. Last episode was full of blood. She continued to have bloody diarrhea episodes throughout the morning and at the her vets office. I picked her up in the afternoon, she began pouring blood out of her rectum, became comatose and was barely alive on the way to the ER. Diagnosed with severe HGE We have had quite a bit of financial issues arise one right after the other, leaving us with little emergency funds. We’ve hit limits on credit cards we never wanted to reach. We don’t want to not be able to provide for our kids/ bills but we also don’t want Hazel to suffer

Katniss
Katniss is a 5-year-old Domestic Short Hair Cat in Leland, NC, who needs $1,000 for Ultrasound or Exploratory Abdominal Surgery.
Leland, NC
Katniss was rescued by my brother about 3 years ago. Due to his long move that he had to make, I took on the role of caring for sweet Katniss. She lives with me, my husband, and our two small children. Katniss has been the light of our lives since we first laid eyes on her. Katniss really took to me in the early days of meeting her. I feel like we've always had a bond. She's always there when I need her. She's like the perfect weighted blanket. She just KNOWS when something is going on. She's been my shoulder to cry on more times than I can count. I just love her with all my heart. Katniss is SO vocal. This girl love to talk. We have conversations daily about anything from the weather to celebrity gossip. She's really a girls girl. She doesn't love playing with toys but she does love a good cuddle session. She's best friends with our lab, Lacey. They eat together, sleep together (on top of me), cuddle together, you name it, they probably do it. Katniss has been admitted to the AETH for possible foreign body. She began vomiting blood at 1am on 1/19/23 and has continued through the day. I was able to take her into the doctor at 4am this morning where they ran bloodwork and took radiographs. Once results are in, we found out that she's extremely constipated due to ingesting cat litter. I'm a stay at home mom of two little boys. We only have 1 income and we were totally unprepared for this kind of emergency. My heart is breaking because this is a life or death situation for her. She's just so young.

Lilo
Lilo is a 6-month-old Shorthair Cat in Ash, NC, who needs $2,000 for Amputation.
Ash, NC
We picked Lilos mom up on the side of the road and little did we know, she was pregnant. She had 4 kittens and we all immediately fell in love with little Lilo. Lilo’s mom as well as his 4 doggy siblings live with us. Lilo and mamas (his mom) are inside/outside cats. They love their out side time but love their time inside with their humans even more! Lilo loves to sleep anywhere, but he’s most comfortable when he’s right on top of you! He’s almost like a dog and just wants love and attention 24/7. When Lilo is outside, he doesn’t miss a greeting when you get home! He’s always at the car door waiting for you to open the door and he jumps right in and starts purring and rubbing his head all over you. Lilo loves to be any where his dog friends or his humans are and he will follow you anywhere! Attention is all he wants, especially his belly rubs and chin scratches! Lilo was found limping one day when I came home from work. After taking him inside and looking him over, I found 2 puncture wounds on his rear legs.I immediately called the emergency vet and spoke with them. We immediately took him to the emergency vet. After examination and X-rays we learned he was shot and the bullet shattered his femur. The only solution is amputation of the rear leg. On 10/22 I found my father deceased in his home. Due to him being only 46 and having no end of life plans in place, I was left to pay all funeral expenses out of pocket. I applied for care credit to get Lilo to the emergency vet but the didn’t give me enough for surgery.

Bella
Bella is a 3-month-old Golden Retriever in Rockingham, NC, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Services.
Rockingham, NC
Leaving the military after serving 8 years and moving to North Carolina has been a major move. I came here to help my grandmother and she gifted Bella to me. She is a new member of the family but I couldn’t love her anymore. She had been a saving grace in my life and true blessing. I never expected to be getting a puppy, but I am forever grateful to have her. Bella is the best girl I could have asked for. She loves spending time with her big sister Amelia, even if her sister doesn’t want to play. She is extremely playfully, but will chew on about anything she can get to. Her favorite toy is her water bowl that she loves to flip over and play in the puddle she has made. Bella’s favorite thing is bath time. Regardless if is her time for a bath or me taking a shower she wants to be in the water. She is truly a water dog. She also loves the beach. She would run, swim and dig in the sand all day if I let her. She gives the best salty kisses after a day at the beach. Bella was taking to a veterinary hospital today after she was attacked my another dog. She is in critical but stable condition. She has severe trauma to her face and my loss her left eye. She is currently on oxygen, but hopefully will be able to move to a regular kennel soon. Even with everything going on she is still in good spirits. Unfortunately with leaving the military, moving to North Carolina and starting flight school this was not something I had budgeted for. It would mean so much to Bella and myself for any help. I know times are hard for everyone, but any little bit helps.

Tux hampton
Tux Hampton is a 4-year-old Mixed Breed Cat in Wilmington , NC, who needs $1,000 for Urethral Blockage.
Wilmington, NC
We rescued tux when he was a tiny baby and he was taken from his mom too early so he thought my German Shepard was his mom. He actually nursed on her nipples and gave her mastitis 😬 but he has been our baby and we love him very much. He’s super sweet. Kneads in my hair every single night and is never mean! Tux has a one of a kind personality, for sure. Life would not be the same without him. Tux is literally the sweetest cat I have ever met. He is always purring and always making biscuits (kneading) and he is definitely in constant need of attention. He gets along with our other cat very well and he loves our dog. We have two ferrets that he is not too fond of lol but we keep them separated. He loves chasing lasers and is a huge fan of squeeze ups. He is very special to us because he is super attached to us and like I said before he kneads in my hair every single night.. it has become a nightly tradition. Tux never leaves our side when we are home. He would be devistated without us just as we would without him. He lays in some of the cutest ways. He’s just special and one of a kind. We had noticed tux was losing weight pretty rapidly. We kept close eye on him. He has been urinating outside of the litter box for a couple of months. Once we realized it wasn’t behavioral & he was struggling to pee we took him to a veterinary hospital at 3am. Its a urethral blockage (deadly). They put a catheter on him for 2 days and sent him home. He has crystals. He still cant pee Sudden major expense! Rent is due and we used our rent money to take him to the emergency vet to keep him alive. $1530.00 and now we aren’t sure if we can pay our rent & we still have to take him to the vet again to check on him. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Archie
Archie is a 2-month-old Toy Aussie in Wilmington, NC, who needs $2,000 for Oxygen Tank and Antibiotics for Bacterial Pneumonia.
Wilmington, NC
My daughter purchased Archie from the Puppy Place as a Christmas present for me, little did she know she bought a very sick dog. Even though our time at home has been short, I am in love with him and heartbroken that he is struggling to live. His 2 older brothers cant wait to meet him and play in the backyard. Archie wants to act like a puppy but he's to sick. He licked us for the first time and actually nibbled on our fingers as if to teethe. He has been unable to meet the large family he will have but hoping with help he will soon. I am recovering from cancer so his little life means a lot, he's not just a dog he's part of my family. I do not know Archie's true personality yet cause his entire life he's been fighting to live. When he looks at me I see he is wanting me to help him, not to give up. I wish I could say we play and laugh but all I can do is hold him and cry. The other day before his relapse he touched grass for the first time. What a smile it put on my face to see him try to play. He deserves a chance! Archie had kennel cough that went untreated at the pet store, that turned into an infectious pneumonia. He is currently in an oxygen tank and on antibiotics. His treatment is $1000 a day roughly, and I cannot let him die. He needs time to recover but money is an issue. The pet store will cover only the cost of the puppy and we have exceeded that. Its such a miss justice to let an animal be on display as sick as he was. Archie needs time for his little body to heal. Please help me bring him home, we love him so much. I cant lose him.

Layla
Layla is a 6-year-old Pitt Bull mix in Emerald Isle, NC, who needs $2,000 for urgent surgery.
Emerald Isle, NC
Karlee T. rescued Layla. Then Layla rescued Karlee. And now they both need some rescuing! Karlee tells Waggle she saved Layla from a shelter where she worked back in 2017. "She was found roaming with no identification, so we are not sure of her background," Karlee says. "I fell in love instantly. Despite what I believe to be an abusive start to her life, she has always been full of love and trust." Layla's bright and playful spirit was just what Karlee needed. "Layla came into my life when I needed some light, and she has continued to be a force of strength in my life and everyone around her," Karlee says. "She loves everyone she meets and deserves the chance to live her best life with her mom, dad, grandpa, and fur siblings." Recently Layla began limping. She ruptured her cranial cruciate ligament in both knees. Now Layla needs expensive surgery so she can walk again without pain. Seeing Layla suffer and be limited in what she can do is heartbreaking for Karlee. "She cannot live life to the fullest. She cannot play at the beach, jump in bed for morning snuggles under the covers, or play with her brother," Karlee says. Karlee is struggling to pay for Layla's surgery, and they hope generous pet lovers out there can help rescue them both! "I spent October 2021 toMay 2022 remodeling my father's home to provide first-floor living access and moved home to provide him with more assistance," Karlee says. "Through this time, financials have been tight, and with the unexpected surgery cost, Layla and I need help. We thank you!"

Irie is a 8-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier Mix (Beagle & Shiba Inu) in Wilmington, NC, who needs $2,000 for Cervical Foreign Body Extraction.
Wilmington, NC
Irie became a part of my life in December of 2013 after I saw her advertised as a runt in desperate need of a loving home. Her sweet little face immediately drew me in and I knew my two five year old rescue dogs needed a puppy to revive their energy. Irie had never been indoors and had much to learn, but quickly adjusted. She was the perfect fit for our family pack and has been the best blessing. I am a DV survivor & former homicide detective, so she helps me stay on a routine which is very important as I live with bipolar disorder & (c)PTSD. She loves to snuggle close to her grandma (my mom) at night, her buddy. She's inspired many of my art pieces & her positive spirit keeps Jazmine (14) thriving despite her cancer. Irie also walks with an elderly disabled PTSD veteran neighbor daily. Irie is brilliant, has a complex vocabulary & does tricks. "Irie" means "good" and she lives up to her name all the time; she is the sweetest, most loving pup. She loves her food and gets so excited about her morning playtime, and always knows what time it is. She snores so loud some times it will make anyone laugh or brighten your mood on a gloomy day. Irie is super loyal & loves to give kisses. Irie was making strange coughing sounds after eating a Virbac Veggident chew and I felt a hard, large object protruding out of the right side of her neck. She is currently in the ICU at Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral and waiting for the surgical teams to come to work on Monday to better assess how to safely remove the chew without further damage. She is stable, but if not removed will die. I live with chronic migraines, asthma, cPTSD, GAD, social anxiety, & ADHD in part from things I was exposed to as a police officer. I cannot work & am on disability, as I must maintain intensive mental health treatment. I live w/my 70 yoa retired mom on a fixed income.

Bella
Bella is a 11-year-old Bichon Poodle in Southport, NC, who needs $2,000 for TPLO/MPL.
Southport, NC
I got Bella when she was 8 weeks old. Her adventures began with 3 plane trips from Iowa to Miami where I picked her up. Then she drove 3 hours to the Florida Keys. After that she took a dinghy ride to her new home a Sailboat! We lived on it until a Cat 4Hurricane in 2017 sunk our boat rendering us homeless. We’ve had so many adventures together. She helped me thru Chemo, now I need to help her out It’s just her & I. She’s my life. I went thru a form of Chemo when she was a puppy. She kept me alive, when I was so sick.. we’ve been thru a major Hurricane together. She has sailed to Bahamas with me, she’s flown to West coast 3 times. We have experienced so many adventures together. Now she needs my help. She has so much personality! She loves people. She loves to run on beach, swim & fish. She makes me smile every minute of the day! For 11& 1/2 yrs it’s been just her & I. We’ve been thru hardships & many good times together. I love her with all my heart! She’s my emotional support dog & we’re inseparable. She has Cruciate Ligament disease of Lt leg. Extensive ligament & meniscus damage, requiring surgery. Her other knee unfortunately will also need surgery down the road. This has been a slow progression over a period of time. She went from a active dog to one who sometimes can’t walk at all. She requires a stroller for walks. She’s always in varying degrees of pain. It’s been heartbreaking to have to consider finances when it comes to her well being. I’m 70, have been disabled since 2010 & live on a very limited income. She’s in pain & it hurts me deeply not to be able to afford her bills.

Ziggy
Ziggy is a 5-year-old Miniature Pinscher Dog in Wilmington, NC, who needs $1,700 for Diabetic Ketoacidosis.
Wilmington, NC
Ziggy lives with his mom and Dad and brother, Floyd. He is a Miniature Pinscher and he needs a job. He is typically the King of Toys. Always barking. Curious. Loved by everyone that encounters him. He makes sure that the neighborhood and neighbors are doing what they are supposed to be doing. If not, he will let you know. Ziggy runs things. He is a Min Pin after all. He loves barking at joggers. He also has beef with the dogs that live in the apartments behind our house. They love to serenade each other as often as possible. He loves his belly rubbed. Sadly, he can’t have his favorite snacks anymore. There are going to be a lot of new adjustments now. Ziggy is a loving, cuddly, sweet boy that has gotten us all through rough times. He sometimes knows when I need him to snuggle up in my lap and give me kisses. He is his brother Floyd’s favorite person in the world. When Floyd was little, he followed every step that Ziggy took. And they always love each other. We just found out he is diabetic after not feeling well and acting unlike Ziggy. He started drinking a lot of water. We ended up having to take him to the ER and they ran tests and found out he was diabetic. They had a hard time getting the ketones out of his urine, so his stay was extended and the ER is super expensive. This was a sudden expense. We already paid a lot of it. We have just exhausted all our resources. My husband is an English teacher and I work for a company that makes lab equipment. We have a 17 year old Senior in high school who graduates in a few days.

Ginger
Ginger is a 17-year-old Tiny Toy Poodle in Loris, SC, who needs $2,000 for Mammary masses.
Loris, SC
Ginger was born on October 31, 2004. She is a tiny toy poodle. I got her from a reputable breeder in California. I picked her up at Raleigh Durham Airport in December 2004. She was so tiny and small. I could put her in a tea cup. She has given us so much love, joy, and happiness. She needs some help right now so she can get the treatment she needs. Ginger spends most of her day inside watching TV with us. She also loves to lounge around beside all of us. She is very intelligent and loving. She knows when I get up out of bed because she gets up immediately. "Early to bed early to rise makes a tiny toy poodle healthy and wise. I baby talk to her because she is a baby. She never weighed over 5 pounds. Ginger is so special because she loves unconditionally. I love her. Ginger is the best friend I could ever ask for, The one I can talk to. She listens to everything I have to say. Ginger also named "Little G" makes me happy, I love her so much! My little furry friend comforts me and has helped me get through the most difficult times of my life such as the time mom and dad passed away. Ginger has tumors on the underside of her belly. She needs to have those removed. Also, she has gotten sick and needs care to give her strength so she can do the surgery. She is at Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral & Animal Emergency and Trauma Hospital. They admitted her to give her much need fluids through IV. She is a fighter and wants to live. She needs your help. I am a permanently disabled veteran who lives on a fixed income. It seems everything has come crashing down on me financially. She needs your help to have any hope of living. She has breast cancer and without your help, she will for sure die without your help.

Anniebella
Anniebella is a 12-year-old Mini Pin in Wilmington, NC, who needs $2,000 for emergency plate surgery.
Wilmington, NC
This is Annie, she is 12 years old and we have had her since birth. Annie was outside one day and started hollering and when we went out back her righr right back leg was just dangling and swinging. We took her to the emergency vet and paid $6,000 for the surgery to have plates, wires, and pins put in. It's been 2 weeks since her surgery and the plate broke so they have to replace the plate. She sleeps with my 5 and 7 year old granddaughters. She where ever they are she is right there with them. She is very protective of my 5 year old granddaughter and sleeps with her mainly. They can't sleep without each other so this is a very rough time for them both. Annie is a very well loved part of our family she isn't a dog but one of my children We spent all that we had in our savings account and credit cards. I am disabled and fighting for my disability so the only income I have is my husband's who works two jobs where we barley make ends meet. I am fully tapped out I've had to dip into rent money to make a deposit Annie just underwent surgery 2 weeks ago for her broken leg where she had plates pit in and pins as well as wire rods running through the bones. She got up the other morning winning and her leg just swinging around. We took her back to the emergency vet to find out the plate broke. They had to go back in today to replace the plates due to a defect. Annie will howl and wine when you leave her, mainly my 5 year old granddaughter. She has to sleep under a blanket like a human with her head out. If you go in the kids room she will growl at you if you touch the kids. She has ears that stand straight up like radars and tend to twitch like them. She sits straight up on her butt and hind legs.

Tank
Tank is a 2-year-old English Bulldog in Wilmington, NC, who needs $1,800 for CT scan with contrast, labs, and urinalysis.
Wilmington, NC
We got Tank when he was young but not in the true puppy stage. We were told he was returned to the breeder for an unknown reason and then sold again. We found him on Craigslist and purchased him as the person said she couldn't afford a dog anymore. He lives at home with myself, my girlfriend, and his best friend our 7 yr old daughter. His other playmate is our Shepherd Sasha. When Tank isn't taking the normal Bulldog nap he loves to play. He likes to play tug of war with Sasha and run thru the yard. Tank loves people and will lick you to death when saying hello. He's the first one to greet you when you come to our home. He loves to snuggle up with our daughter. When Tank is sleeping you can hear his snoring throughout the house. Covid has hurt us financially like many others. My girlfriend lost her job and our daughter is home from school. I have the only income in the house and it's a struggle. Tank is part of our family. He makes us laugh and smile. He is my daughters best friend. We love our boy. We began to notice Tank urinating a lot and the urine began to look a dark yellow and had a strong odor. We also witnessed Tank dribbling pee from his rectum at times. I began to research why he may be dribbling pee form his hind end. I found a rare condition called a urethral fistula. The vet treating Tank is Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral. Dr Gulledge. He seems to agree with my concern Tank has his 2 k9 teeth that stick out certain times. If you say Tank show me your teeth he gives you a doggy smile and shows those teeth. Also if you make eye contact with Tank and tilt your head he will tilt his the same direction as you. When sleeping you can tickle his jowls and he will let out a loud snore and flip over to his back. Tank is also a bed hog and will steal your blankets.

Joey
Joey is a 9-year-old Australian Terrier in Wilmington, NC, who needs $1,300 for cruciate surgery right ACL.
Wilmington, NC
Joey is a 9 year old Australian Terrier. I already had one, Sydney, and she was perfect, so why not two? When my husband left me, I got Joey for companionship for both me and Sydney. He fit into my life perfectly. Sydney and Joey were best buddies and despite moving around quite a bit, has been a very healthy and amazing dog. Joey is quite a character, though he's slowed down a bit now. As I mentioned, he's been healthy until now. We LOVE to go on walks around town, on trails, and we've even gone camping. Since it's just me now, we do pretty much everything together. When it's not summer or too warm, he'll wait in the car if I have to run into a store quickly. He's very friendly with everyone and loves attention. I am a retired NC teacher. Also, I did find a small part-time job teaching, but due to COVID that school's now closed permanently. I lost Sydney last summer due to diabetes complications and CANNOT lose Joey. He's been with me through so much. I cannot imagine not having him Joey has been healthy up to this year. He had to have a large lipoma removed in March due to it being involved with his muscle mass. That cost $2300. Now, he's being checked for Cushing's Disease (I've paid $800 for the diagnostic stuff). Two weeks ago, got side checked by another dog and now he's got a torn ACL. That surgery, will be another $2000-2500. Eastern Carolina Vet Referral will do it. He loves squeaky toys, even at 9. He'll get one of his toys out of his box, bring it to me, and expect me to play. If I'm busy, he lays down next to me and squeaks the toy to get my attention. When I visit my son's house, he immediately goes to their dog's toy box and helps himself. He is a mooch, and would be fat if I fed him all the treats he likes. He'll do anything for a treat.
