Someone Left Purple to Suffer — You Can Help Rewrite His Story

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

Purple is a tiny senior dog whose body tells the story of years of neglect, fear, and unimaginable suffering. When we first heard about him, we were told there was a small dog lying in the street who could no longer walk. Witnesses said someone had been dragging him until another compassionate person finally stepped in and rescued him. We do not know where Purple came from or how he ended up in such heartbreaking condition. We suspect he may once have been someone’s pet, possibly even stolen at some point in his life, but now he is an elderly little soul who has clearly endured far more pain than any dog ever should. When Purple arrived, he was in devastating shape. His pelvic bone was protruding, his hind legs were paralyzed, and he was dangerously malnourished. His tiny body was covered in ticks, his fur was severely matted, and painful knots pulled tightly against his fragile skin. He was exhausted, limp, and terrified. And yet, even through all of that suffering, Purple still tried to protect himself. As our team approached him, he gave tiny growls and little barks, his wide eyes filled with fear. It was as if he wanted the world to believe he was still strong enough to defend himself, even though his body had already given up. Underneath that brave front was a helpless little dog who had likely learned that humans could not always be trusted. At the sanctuary, Purple experienced safety and comfort for the first time in what may have been years. He felt air conditioning. He rested on soft bedding. But he was so shut down and frightened that he would not eat or drink during his first night with us. Then something beautiful happened. The next morning, Purple slowly began to let his guard down. He accepted a little icy cold yogurt and some water. Little by little, he started trusting us enough to let us groom him and shave away the painful mats that had covered his body for so long. He still growls when we try to trim his overgrown nails, but every day we see more of the sweet little dog hidden underneath all that fear. Purple is beginning to understand that he no longer has to fight to survive. For the first time in a very long time, he has a full belly, a safe place to sleep, and people who will not hurt him. Now Purple urgently needs continued medical care, diagnostics, pain management, rehabilitation support, and daily treatment as we work to determine the extent of his paralysis and give him the best possible quality of life. After everything Purple has endured, we want the rest of his life to finally be filled with comfort, love, and dignity. Please donate today to help us continue Purple’s care and show this tiny survivor that his life matters. 6/7/26 Update Purple is still incredibly fragile. Some days bring small victories—a little more interest in food, a brighter expression, or a moment where he seems more comfortable. Other days are much harder. His condition remains delicate, and there are times when we worry about what tomorrow may bring. What we do know is that Purple is surrounded by love. He is warm, safe, and receiving the care he desperately needs. Our team continues to monitor him closely, manage his pain, and provide supportive care while giving him every possible chance to recover and find some strength. We won't pretend this journey is easy. Purple's age, paralysis, and overall condition make every day a challenge. But we are not giving up on him. Every meal he eats, every comfortable nap, and every gentle touch reminds us why his fight matters. After everything he has endured, Purple deserves the opportunity to experience kindness, comfort, and dignity for however much time he has ahead of him. Please continue to keep Purple in your thoughts. Your donations and support are helping us provide the ongoing medical care and daily attention he needs during this critical time. Purple still has a long road ahead, and his care continues to add up every day. If you are able, please consider making a donation to help cover his medical treatment, pain management, rehabilitation support, medications, and daily care. No gift is too small. Every dollar helps us continue fighting for this brave little dog and gives him the best possible chance to keep moving forward. Donate today and help us show Purple that his life is worth fighting for. 💜 6/20/26 Update We wanted to share a brief update on our brave little Purple. At this time, his condition remains touch and go. Some days bring small signs of progress, while others remind us just how fragile he still is. Our team continues to monitor him closely and provide the supportive care, comfort, and love he needs every step of the way. While we don't have all the answers yet, we do know that Purple is safe, surrounded by people who care deeply about him, and receiving everything we can offer to help him heal. We are taking things one day at a time and celebrating every small victory along the way. Please continue to keep Purple in your thoughts. We are all rooting for this resilient little fighter and hoping for brighter days ahead. Thank you for standing with Purple and helping us give him the compassion and care he deserves. 7/21/26 Update It is with broken hearts that we share that our sweet Purple has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Despite every effort to save him, Purple's tiny body had endured far too much before he was rescued. He was severely malnourished, anemic, and suffering from multiple serious medical conditions, including a severe tick-borne illness. Although he received around-the-clock veterinary care, pain management, nutritious meals, and endless love, his little body simply did not have the strength to overcome everything he was facing. While this is not the outcome we had all hoped for, we take comfort in knowing that Purple's final days were nothing like the life he had known before. When Purple was found, he was lying helpless in the street, unable to walk and terrified of the world around him. He had likely been suffering alone for a very long time. But because of your compassion, he experienced something every animal deserves before he passed—kindness. His painful mats were gently removed, his hunger was eased, and he was surrounded by people who spoke to him with love and treated him with the dignity he had always deserved. Most importantly, Purple did not leave this world alone. Although we wish we could have given him many more happy years, we are grateful that we were able to give him peace, comfort, and unconditional love during the final chapter of his life. Sometimes rescue is not about changing the ending—it is about changing the story before the ending arrives. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every person who donated, shared Purple's fundraiser, sent encouraging messages, or kept him in your thoughts. Your generosity made it possible for us to provide him with compassionate medical care and ensure that his final days were filled with comfort instead of suffering. Purple's journey touched so many lives, and he will never be forgotten. Run free, sweet Purple. You were deeply loved.

Abandoned, Pregnant, and Still Wearing Her Old Collar — Lily Is Finally Safe

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

Lily was found on the road by a kind person who reached out to ACF Animal Rescue for help. When our team arrived, she was extremely scared, darting from one hiding spot to another. Every movement showed how anxious and overwhelmed she was. Her small body was covered in scratches and minor wounds — quiet evidence of how hard life had already been for her. At first, we thought she was just a frightened stray trying to survive. But Lily was hiding a secret. After performing an ultrasound, we discovered that Lily is pregnant. This frightened, exhausted dog wasn’t just fighting for herself — she was carrying babies while struggling to survive on the streets. Now she is receiving extra care and close monitoring so she can finally feel safe and protected. We believe Lily was abandoned long ago. She was still wearing an old, faded collar, a heartbreaking sign that she was once someone’s pet. In our understanding, she likely became pregnant while surviving alone. Even now, she will not let us remove the collar — almost as if it’s the last piece of her old life she’s holding onto. But slowly, Lily is beginning to change. After her first bath, she surprised us all. She absolutely loved it. For a moment, the fear faded, and she simply enjoyed being cared for. Now she’s resting with her new roommate, Cookie, and starting to relax. Day by day, Lily is learning that she’s safe. Your support helps us provide prenatal care, food, medical monitoring, and a secure place for Lily to bring her puppies into the world. After everything she’s been through, she deserves a calm, protected beginning for her little family. Lily’s past may have been filled with uncertainty, but together, we can give her a future filled with safety and love.

Her Back Was Sliced Open While Her Puppies Nursed — Matilda Is Fighting to Survive

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

An urgent call came in about a mother dog who had been brutally attacked. When we found Matilda, the scene was devastating. She had been held down while individuals used knives to slice open the flesh across her back, leaving her entire back as one massive, open wound. Despite the unimaginable pain, her puppies were still trying to nurse from her. By the time our team reached her, Matilda was sitting in the corner of a broken road. Her eyes weren’t filled with fear — they were filled with shock. She wasn’t running. She wasn’t fighting. She had completely frozen, as if her body had gone numb from the trauma. Since arriving at ACF Animal Rescue, Matilda has not screamed. She has not cried out. Instead, she growls whenever anyone comes close. Her fear of humans runs deep, and after what she endured, she believes people mean harm. Treating her has been incredibly challenging. We are doing everything we can, mostly from a distance, slowly working to earn her trust. So far, she has allowed one team member to come slightly closer. That person now sits quietly with the vet, helping administer wound care and oral medications to prevent infection and support healing. Matilda has chosen one wall as her safe space and does not move from it. She only eats and drinks when no one is around. But we are grateful — because it means she still has the will to survive. Right now, Matilda needs time, patience, and gentle care. She needs her body to heal… and her heart, too. Your support helps us provide the medical treatment, supplies, and quiet, compassionate care she needs during this fragile time. She has endured the worst of humanity. Help us show Matilda that kindness still exists. 4/23/26 Update Despite everything she endured, Matilda fought quietly and with incredible strength. She allowed us small moments of care, small steps toward trust — even after experiencing unimaginable cruelty. But her body had suffered too much. Matilda passed away peacefully in her sleep, no longer in pain. In the days that followed, we did everything we could for her puppies. They had stayed by her side through it all, relying on her even as she fought to survive. Without their mother, their fragile little bodies simply couldn’t keep going, and we lost them as well. This is the reality we face far too often — the kind of cruelty that leaves wounds too deep to heal. But because of you, Matilda did not die alone on that broken road. She knew warmth. She knew safety. She knew that, in the end, there were hands that chose kindness instead of harm. Thank you for standing with her, for giving her dignity, and for allowing us to try. We will carry Matilda — and her babies — with us always.

Beaten, Blinded, and Left Outside Our Gate — Scotty Is Fighting to Trust Again

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

Late one night, Scotty was left outside the gate at ACF Animal Rescue. He sat in the emergency drop-off cage, staring out through the metal grills — barely able to see. One eye was covered by a massive, devastating wound that spread across much of his face. He was skinny, starving, dehydrated, and clearly in unbearable pain. From what we understand, Scotty had been held down and beaten very severely. The trauma he endured left him physically broken and emotionally shut down. When we found him, we truly didn’t think he was going to make it. But Scotty is still here. Slowly, day by day, he has begun to improve. His body is healing, and he’s now in a much better place than the night he arrived. Still, the emotional scars remain. Scotty is quiet and reserved — an introvert who prefers to sit alone in a corner, always alert, watching everything around him. He wants to know what everyone is doing, but he’s not ready to join in just yet. He doesn’t fully trust people. Not yet. And after what he’s been through, can you blame him? What Scotty needs now is time, patience, and gentle care. He needs to learn that hands can be kind, that voices can be soft, and that the world is not always a place of fear. Your support can help us continue Scotty’s healing journey — both physically and emotionally. From medical care to daily comfort, every donation helps us give him the safety he deserves. Scotty survived the worst. Now we just need to show him that better days are ahead. 5/12/26 Update When Scotty first arrived at ACF Animal Rescue, we truly weren’t sure if he would survive. The injuries he suffered were horrific, and the emotional trauma ran just as deep. But somehow, despite everything that was done to him, Scotty kept fighting. Today, we’re relieved to say that Scotty is continuing to heal and is settling in well at the sanctuary. He is still receiving ongoing treatment for the large wound on his face, and his recovery is far from over, but he is in good spirits and becoming more comfortable with his surroundings every day. Scotty remains a quiet, observant soul. He likes to keep an eye on everything happening around him and is slowly learning that he is finally safe. While he still carries understandable fear and uncertainty, we are beginning to see glimpses of curiosity, comfort, and trust emerging through the trauma. Healing from abuse takes time — not just physically, but emotionally too. Scotty needs continued medical care, patience, proper nutrition, and a safe place where he can recover at his own pace without fear. We are so grateful to everyone who has supported Scotty’s journey so far. Your donations, shares, and kind words have helped give this boy a real chance at healing. If you would like to continue helping Scotty as he recovers, donations toward his ongoing medical treatment and sanctuary care are deeply appreciated. Scotty survived unimaginable cruelty. Now, together, we can help him discover what kindness feels like 6/12/26 Update Because of your incredible generosity, Scotty's fundraiser has come to a close — and we are so grateful for every person who stood beside him on this journey. When Scotty arrived at ACF Animal Rescue, he was one of the most heartbreaking cases we had ever seen. Left alone outside our gate, severely injured, starving, dehydrated, and carrying unimaginable trauma, his future was uncertain. The wounds on his face told a story of cruelty no animal should ever endure, and there were moments when we feared he would not survive. But Scotty proved to be stronger than anyone could have imagined. Today, Scotty is safe. His physical wounds have continued to heal, and while some scars may remain, he is no longer living in pain and fear. He has settled into sanctuary life, where he can recover at his own pace surrounded by people who respect his boundaries and care for him unconditionally. Scotty is still the quiet observer he has always been. He prefers to watch from a comfortable spot, taking in everything around him before deciding whether to participate. Trust does not come easily for a cat who has experienced such profound cruelty, but little by little, he is learning that he no longer has to be afraid. We see moments of curiosity, comfort, and even contentment that simply weren't there when he first arrived. While his emotional healing will continue for some time, Scotty now has something he never had before: safety, stability, and a future. None of this would have been possible without you. Your donations helped provide medical treatment, nutritious food, daily care, and the sanctuary environment Scotty needed to begin putting his painful past behind him. More importantly, your support showed Scotty that there are far more kind people in this world than cruel ones. From all of us at ACF Animal Rescue, thank you for believing in Scotty when he needed it most. Because of you, his story is no longer defined by abuse and suffering — it is defined by resilience, compassion, and hope. Scotty's journey is far from over, but thanks to your support, it is finally headed in the right direction.

Help Dawson Heal: A Tiny Puppy Hurt by Cruelty Needs Urgent Care

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

Dawson is just a tiny puppy who should be spending his days playing, exploring, and feeling safe. Instead, he arrived at ACF Animal Rescue after experiencing unimaginable cruelty. This little boy was dropped off to the rescue in terrible condition. When our team first saw him, it was clear something was very wrong. Dawson has a severe injury to his eye, and based on the trauma, it appears he may have been struck with a heavy object—possibly a stone or something similar. It’s heartbreaking to imagine how anyone could harm such a small, innocent puppy. Despite the pain and fear he has endured, Dawson’s spirit is still there. He is very shy and frightened, and the world still feels like a scary place for him—but every so often, his tiny tail gently wags, as if he’s hoping that the people around him mean kindness. And now, they do. Dawson is currently under veterinary treatment and receiving the urgent care he desperately needs. Our team is working closely with veterinarians to treat his eye injury, manage his pain, and give him the chance to heal both physically and emotionally. But rescues like ours cannot do this alone. 💙 Your tax-deductible donation will help cover Dawson’s veterinary care, treatment, and recovery, giving this brave little puppy the chance to grow up in safety and love—something he should have had from the very beginning. If you’re unable to donate, sharing Dawson’s story can help us reach more compassionate people who want to help. Together, we can show Dawson that while some humans failed him, many more are ready to fight for him. 🐾 3/19/26 Update Our sweet little Dawson is having a bit of a tougher moment in his recovery. He’s currently dealing with some GI issues and isn’t feeling his best, so he’s back in our clinic where he can be closely monitored and supported. Given everything his tiny body has already been through, even small setbacks can affect him more—but he’s in the right place and receiving the care he needs. Despite this, Dawson is still showing us his spirit. He’s still such a little cutie, and even on the harder days, you can see that he’s full of life. That gentle, hopeful energy is still there—and it’s what keeps all of us going as we fight for him. Right now, the focus is on stabilizing him, keeping him comfortable, and helping his body continue to heal at its own pace. Recovery isn’t always a straight line, especially for a puppy who has endured so much trauma so early in life. Dawson needs time, care, and continued medical support—and we are committed to seeing him through every step of this journey. But we can’t do it alone. His ongoing treatment, clinic care, medications, and monitoring all come at a cost. As a small rescue, cases like Dawson’s quickly add up, and we rely entirely on the kindness of supporters to continue providing this level of care. If you’re able to donate, even a small amount will help us continue Dawson’s treatment and give him the chance to fully recover and grow into the happy, safe life he deserves. If you can’t donate, sharing his story means just as much. Dawson has been through more than any puppy ever should—but he’s still fighting. And with your help, we’ll keep fighting for him. 4/6/26 Update We are heartbroken to share a final update on little Dawson. When Dawson first arrived, he had already endured unimaginable cruelty. Despite his severe eye injury and the fear he carried, he showed us glimpses of hope — a shy puppy whose tiny tail would wag as he slowly began to trust the kindness around him. With treatment and supportive care, Dawson started to improve, and we were all encouraged by the progress he was making. Even when he experienced a setback with GI issues, he remained under close veterinary supervision, and we continued to support him every step of the way. In fact, Dawson had been doing well, which makes what happened next even more devastating. Dawson suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. It was a shock to everyone caring for him because he had been showing such positive signs, and we truly believed he was on the path to recovery. His loss has left our entire team heartbroken. Sometimes, despite doing everything possible — providing medical care, comfort, and love — fragile little bodies that have endured trauma simply cannot overcome the damage. Dawson was surrounded by people who cared deeply about him, and in his final days, he knew safety, compassion, and gentle hands. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, shared his story, and supported his care. Your kindness gave Dawson comfort, treatment, and love during the time he had with us. While his ending was not what we hoped for, he did not suffer alone, and he was deeply cared for. Run free, sweet Dawson. You were loved, and you will never be forgotten.

Daisy

Neglected. Starved. Forgotten. But Daisy Is Still Here.

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

When ACF Animal Rescue was alerted about Daisy, she was still tied to a filthy apartment terrace—alone in the same place she had been left after her owner passed away. No one came for her. For days, Daisy survived on that short leash. The collar around her neck had deteriorated over time, slowly cutting into her skin and leaving a deep, painful wound encircling her throat. She was severely dehydrated. Emaciated. Her fur was heavily matted. She suffered from a skin infection, an eye infection, intestinal worms, and ongoing diarrhea. Her body was shutting down from neglect. Reaching her wasn’t easy. It took significant effort and coordination before rescuers could finally get access and bring her to safety. When Daisy first arrived, she was terrified. Understandably so. Human hands had only meant restraint, discomfort, and abandonment. Out of fear, she snapped at the veterinarian during her initial exam. For everyone’s safety—including her own—she had to be gently muzzled while receiving care. But something remarkable happened. Within just days of patient, compassionate handling, Daisy began to soften. She had her first proper bath. Her neck wound is now being carefully treated. She is receiving fluids for dehydration, nutritional support for her severe malnourishment, medication for her skin and eye infections, and slow, controlled treatment for worms and diarrhea so her fragile system isn’t overwhelmed. And the most beautiful part? Beneath the fear, Daisy is incredibly sweet. She has already enjoyed her first walk. She is beginning to lean into gentle touch. She is learning—slowly—that she is safe now. But Daisy’s recovery will not be quick. Severe malnutrition and untreated wounds require careful monitoring, follow-up exams, medication, special nutrition, and time. Her body needs gradual rehabilitation so it can rebuild without stress. The veterinary care she requires is extensive, and the costs are significant. ACF Animal Rescue stepped in when Daisy had no one. Now we are asking you to stand with her. Daisy survived abandonment, starvation, and pain. Now she deserves healing. Please consider making a donation today to support Daisy’s recovery. Every contribution brings her closer to a future filled not with chains and neglect—but with comfort, safety, and love. Daisy is finally free. Let’s make sure she stays that way. 3/9/26 Update The transformation we’re seeing in Daisy in just a few short days is nothing short of amazing. When she first arrived, Daisy was scared, defensive, and clearly struggling after everything she had been through. But now that she’s safe and receiving care, her true personality is beginning to shine. Daisy loves going on walks, happily exploring the world around her. She’s started running and playing, and little by little she’s discovering what it means to simply enjoy being a dog again. She is still currently staying at our old shelter with ACF Animal Rescue while we prepare to move to our new sanctuary. Our new space will include a special courtyard designed for abandoned and rescued animals like Daisy, where they will be able to feel safe, relaxed, and free. The physical changes in Daisy have been just as remarkable. She has already gained weight, her fur and skin are improving, and her coat is looking healthier every day. She’s eating well, healing beautifully, and finding joy in play again. And perhaps the most heartwarming change of all—Daisy is no longer aggressive. The fear she once carried is slowly fading, and underneath it we’ve discovered the sweetest, most loving soul. But Daisy’s journey isn’t over yet. She is still receiving care, food, medical support, and daily rehabilitation as she continues to recover. Your support is what makes this possible. Please consider making a donation to help cover Daisy’s ongoing care and recovery. If you’re unable to donate, sharing her story helps more compassionate people learn about her journey. Together, we can make sure Daisy continues healing and never has to face the world alone again. 3/19/26 Update Daisy is doing so much better—and it’s been incredible to watch her come back to life. There was a moment in the middle of her recovery where we were really worried. Daisy developed some GI issues and based on her symptoms, we suspect she may have been dealing with tick fever from before she came into our care. Thankfully, after treatment and receiving Bravecto, she has turned a corner. Today, Daisy is full of life. She has more energy, a brighter spirit, and is finally starting to feel like a happy, healthy dog again. And one of the most beautiful changes? Daisy has discovered just how much she \\\\\\\_loves\\\\\\\_ water. 🐾 She recently had what we believe may have been her first proper bath ever, and instead of fear, she embraced it. She’s enjoying the experience, soaking up the attention, and truly beginning to relax in her new environment. From a dog who once stood tied, neglected, and suffering… to a dog who now finds joy in something as simple as a bath—it’s a transformation we will never take for granted. We’re also in the process of bringing in incredible new grooming stations at our sanctuary, which will allow dogs like Daisy to continue receiving the care, comfort, and dignity they were denied for so long. But Daisy’s journey is still ongoing. Her rescue, medical treatment, parasite care, nutrition, and continued rehabilitation all come at a significant cost—and as a small rescue, we rely entirely on donations to make stories like hers possible. If Daisy’s progress has touched your heart, please consider making a donation today. Your support helps us continue her care and allows us to say “yes” to the next animal who is suffering and waiting for help. Daisy was once forgotten. Because of you, she is now healing, thriving, and finally learning what love feels like 4/23/26 Update When we first met Daisy, she was tied to a terrace, forgotten, and barely holding on. Her body was weak, her spirit guarded, and her trust in people was almost gone. Today… Daisy is unrecognizable. She is healthy. She is safe. And most importantly—she is loved. After weeks of dedicated medical care, proper nutrition, and patient, compassionate handling, Daisy has fully transformed. The wounds around her neck have healed. Her infections are gone. Her weight is back to a healthy place. Her coat is soft and shining. But the most powerful change isn’t physical—it’s emotional. Daisy now runs to greet people instead of shrinking away. She seeks out affection. She plays, explores, and leans into love in a way we weren’t sure we would ever see. The fear that once defined her has been replaced with trust. She will never be tied up and forgotten again. She will never know that kind of neglect or loneliness. Instead, her days will be filled with safety, comfort, and the kind of love every dog deserves. This is what your support made possible. Because of you, Daisy’s story didn’t end on that terrace. It didn’t end in pain or abandonment. It became a story of resilience, healing, and second chances. Thank you for standing with her. Thank you for believing in her. And thank you for helping us turn heartbreak into hope—for Daisy, and for so many others still waiting.

A Traumatized Lab’s Journey Back to Love

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

When a frightened Labrador was left outside the gates of ACF Animal Rescue, we didn’t just hear about it — we saw it. Security camera footage from our old facility shows a man arriving with Derek and putting him into one of the secure emergency cages outside our old shelter gate — cages we installed strictly for injured and abused homeless animals while our team focuses on building homes at our new sanctuary. He pushed Derek inside... and then skipped away gleefully, leaving him behind without a second glance. That was how Derek’s second chance began — not with kindness, but with abandonment. Derek should have been everything people expect from a Labrador — friendly, trusting, eager to love. Instead, he arrived growling at both dogs and people, keeping his distance, and bracing for danger that wasn’t there. That kind of aggression in a Lab doesn’t come from nowhere. It comes from trauma. Though Derek was physically healthy, emotionally he was shattered. With nowhere else safe to go, we moved Derek immediately to our new sanctuary — still under construction at the time. When the first large enclosure was completed, it became his. It was the first space in a long time that belonged only to him. Even then, he kept his guard up. He watched. He waited. He growled. He needed time to understand that no one was going to hurt him again. Just as he began to settle, Derek fell ill. A sudden cough. A rising fever. The bright spark in his eyes faded overnight. We rushed him back under close supervision, where our team treated a lung infection, dewormed him, and ensured he received full veterinary care. The costs mounted quickly — diagnostics, medications, supportive treatment — but we weren’t about to give up on him. Thankfully, Derek fought back. He responded beautifully to treatment and made a strong recovery. We have held off on neutering him because his health and stability come first. We want to ensure he is fully strong before proceeding with surgery — another cost we must prepare for. Today, Derek is a different dog. He greets us with a softness in his eyes. He adores stuffed toys. He waits eagerly for treats. And the same dog who once growled now walks up for big, lingering hugs — as if he understands he’s finally safe. But Derek’s journey isn’t over. His medical care, daily nutrition, behavioral support, and future neuter surgery all require funding. His sanctuary enclosure — built in urgency to give him safety — was constructed while still under development. We need help to cover the costs that made his rescue possible and ensure we can continue saying “yes” to dogs like him. Your donation today will c over Derek’s past and ongoing veterinary expenses, fund his upcoming neuter surgery, and help cover the cost of urgently building out his sanctuary space. Derek was left behind once. We refuse to let him be left behind again. Please donate to help us continue Derek’s healing — and to give other abandoned animals the second chance they deserve. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a direct and life-changing impact. 3/7/26 Update The frightened dog who once kept his distance and braced for danger has made amazing progress. Derek is now spending time out with the other dogs, and he absolutely loves having friends around him. Watching him socialize and enjoy their company has been such a wonderful milestone in his journey. These days, Derek greets us with wagging tails and happy smiles. The fear and tension he carried when he first arrived are slowly being replaced with confidence, curiosity, and joy. Seeing him play, interact with the other dogs, and relax in their presence shows just how far he has come since the day he was abandoned outside our gates. Derek still has more steps ahead of him, including continued care and his future neuter surgery, but his transformation so far has been nothing short of incredible. If you’d like to help Derek continue his journey, please consider making a donation to his campaign. Your support helps cover his ongoing care, future neuter surgery, and the sanctuary space that gave him safety when he had nowhere else to go. Every donation—no matter the size—helps ensure Derek and other abandoned animals like him get the second chance they deserve. Thank you for being part of Derek’s story. 3/19/26 Update We can hardly believe we’re saying this… but Derek has completely transformed. The frightened dog who was once abandoned outside our gates—growling, guarded, and bracing for danger—is now one of the \_most confident and full-of-life dogs in our care.\_ Derek is in such a good frame of mind now and has truly settled into sanctuary life. He \_loves\_ being pampered (bath time is actually one of his favorite things!), soaks up attention, and has developed the funniest, cheekiest personality. He’s also become quite the ladies’ man ☺️Derek is now one of the more dominant dogs in the group, and while he loves having friends around, he can’t resist showing off a little when the girls are nearby—which sometimes means picking playful (and occasionally not-so-playful) fights with the other males. He keeps us on our toes, that’s for sure. Naughty? Yes. But he has such a great sense of humor and spirit that it’s impossible not to love him. What’s most incredible is this: Derek’s aggression toward people is completely gone. The same dog who once couldn’t be approached now seeks out affection, leans in for love, and trusts the humans around him. That kind of healing doesn’t happen by accident—it happens because he was given time, safety, and a chance. We truly cannot believe someone left him outside our gate. He is \_that\_ special. On the medical side, Derek has now been neutered, treated with Bravecto, and is doing really well. As he continues to thrive, we are also building out his new courtyard space at our sanctuary—designed for dogs like Derek who need both structure and freedom after being abandoned. But rescues like Derek come at a cost. From his emergency intake and medical treatment to his ongoing care, neuter surgery, and the construction of his sanctuary space, the expenses have been significant—and as a small rescue, we feel that weight. If Derek’s story has touched your heart, please consider making a donation today. Your support helps us continue caring for Derek and allows us to say “yes” to the next abandoned animal who has nowhere else to go. Derek was once thrown away like he didn’t matter. Because of you, he’s now living a life full of safety, personality, and second chances 4/19/26 Update Derek’s story began in a way we will never forget — abandoned outside our gates, caught on camera as someone walked away without a second thought. He arrived frightened, defensive, and carrying the invisible scars of whatever he had endured before that moment. Today, Derek is unrecognizable from the dog we first met. Over the course of his journey, we watched him slowly let his guard down. What started as growls and distance turned into cautious curiosity… then trust… and eventually, affection. When he fell ill shortly after arriving, we fought alongside him through treatment and recovery, making sure he had every chance not just to survive — but to truly live. And live he does. Derek is now one of the most confident, vibrant dogs in our care. He has fully embraced sanctuary life — making friends, showing off his playful (and sometimes mischievous) personality, and soaking up every bit of attention he can get. He loves his toys, enjoys being pampered, and has even earned a bit of a reputation as a “ladies’ man,” keeping us laughing with his antics. Most importantly, the fear he once carried toward people is gone. Derek now seeks out affection, leans in for hugs, and trusts the humans around him — something that once felt impossible. On the medical side, Derek has made a full recovery from his illness, has been neutered, and is up to date on his preventative care. He is healthy, thriving, and finally able to just be a dog. Because of your support, Derek’s story did not end the day he was abandoned. Instead, it became a story of healing, transformation, and second chances. Your donations helped cover his emergency care, medical treatment, neuter surgery, daily needs, and the development of the sanctuary space that gave him safety when he had nowhere else to go. You gave him the time, patience, and resources he needed to become who he was always meant to be.

Abandoned at Our Gate, But Not Forgotten. Help Cookie start over with love

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

Abandoned at Our Gate — But Not Forgotten Cookie is just 6–7 months old. A baby, really. She didn’t arrive as a stray. She arrived with a passport. Medical records. Paperwork. Proof that she once belonged to someone. Through our CCTV cameras, we watched a family walk up to the secure emergency cages outside our old shelter gate — cages we installed strictly for injured and abused homeless animals while our team focuses on building homes at our new sanctuary. They placed Cookie inside… and walked away. They looked sad. But they still left her. ACF Animal Rescue was not prepared for pets to be abandoned there. Those cages were meant to protect injured strays until we could reach them — not to become drop-off points for unwanted family members. When we found Cookie, she was frozen in fear. She growled, not out of aggression, but terror. She refused food. She wouldn’t drink. Her whole tiny body had shut down. We moved slowly. Spoke softly. Gently looped a leash. Lifted her with care. And brought her to the new sanctuary — where she became the very first resident of our new home. And something beautiful happened. Cookie began to trust again. Today, she: • Has been given Bravecto • Has been fully dewormed • Has received a complete medical check and is healthy • Is receiving proper nutrition and daily care • Loves her toys and is settling in beautifully Cookie didn’t choose to be abandoned. But she chose to open her heart again. How You Can Help Cookie While Cookie is safe, her care — and the care of animals like her — is not free. Veterinary exams, preventatives, nutritious food, enrichment, shelter construction, and daily staffing all add up quickly. And as we continue building safe homes at our sanctuary, resources are stretched thin. Every contribution — no matter the size — makes a direct impact. Cookie’s story could have ended in confusion and heartbreak. Instead, because of support from compassionate people like you, it is becoming a story of healing and second chances. Please donate today and help us continue saying “yes” to animals who are left behind. Cookie trusted again. Let’s show her she was right to.

New Sanctuary Build-out

Help Build Pakistan’s First Multi-Species Rescue Sanctuary

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

ACF Animal Rescue is building something Pakistan has never had before: a large-scale, multi-species sanctuary for animals rescued from abuse, violence, and neglect. In a country with no structured animal welfare system and little legal protection for animals, suffering has become normalized. Animals are caged, beaten, abandoned, and treated as disposable. This sanctuary exists to change that. When complete, it will provide safe, natural, dignified living spaces for up to 5,000 rescued animals across nine different species — while continuing to operate as an active emergency rescue center. We rescue 10–25 animals every single day, and that work does not stop during construction. This is not just a shelter. It is a national model for what humane care looks like. What Your Donation Builds — Tangible Impact Every dollar directly funds something physical and lasting. 🐱 $90 Builds One Cat House We need approximately 100 cat houses. Your $90 gives a rescued cat a safe, shaded, permanent space to rest and recover. 🐶 $125 Builds One Dog House We need approximately 100 dog houses. Your $125 provides security and protection for a rescued dog who may have never known safety before. You can sponsor one structure — or multiple — and immediately expand capacity for rescued animals. Powering the Sanctuary: Solar Energy Our area faces severe and frequent power outages. Animals cannot wait for electricity to return. We are building a fully solar-powered sanctuary to ensure uninterrupted medical care, water access, and daily operations. Your support helps fund: Solar panels - Battery storage systems - Installation and wiring This creates permanent energy independence and guarantees consistent care. _Water & Sustainability Infrastructure_: We are building a zero-waste, environmentally responsible sanctuary designed for long-term impact. Current and ongoing needs include: Rainwater harvesting systems - Water storage tanks - Grey water treatment systems for irrigation - Compost systems that transform animal waste into organic fertilizer These systems reduce operating costs, restore soil health, and create a self-sustaining environment. Ranch-Style Open Spaces for Donkeys & Farm Animals In Pakistan, donkeys and farm animals are often beaten, overworked, and discarded. We are building open, ranch-style living spaces where they can: Graze freely - Rest safely - Eat through slow feeders that mimic natural foraging - Live without fear Your donation helps fund fencing, shaded structures, land preparation, and feeding systems that restore dignity to animals who have known only cruelty. This is the first sanctuary of its kind in Pakistan — and one of very few in the world that houses this many rescued species together in a natural environment. It challenges a cultural norm that animals must suffer. It demonstrates a different future. And every donor becomes part of building that future. Your Gift Becomes a Structure, a System, a Safe Life $90 = One cat house - $125 = One dog house - Larger gifts = Solar power, water systems, ranch spaces Every contribution becomes a permanent part of this sanctuary and a lasting refuge for animals who have already endured unimaginable hardship. You are not just donating. You are building Pakistan’s first model of humane, sustainable, multi-species rescue. And that changes everything.

Help Lexi Heal After Being Abandoned at Her Most Vulnerable 💔

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

Lexi was found alone on the road after being abandoned by her former family at the moment she needed them most. A kind passerby couldn’t leave her there and brought her to safety. When Lexi arrived, she was paralyzed, severely malnourished, dehydrated, and in shock—both physically and emotionally. We don’t yet know what caused her paralysis, but it’s clear that this is why she was discarded. Now Lexi is safe with ACF Animal Rescue. She’s currently in our cattery, slowly adjusting to a life that looks nothing like the one she knew before. She’s confused, frightened, and trying to understand how everything changed so suddenly. Beneath her thick fur is a body that is all skin and bone. Her weakness is profound, and right now her care is focused on stabilizing her—rehydration, nutritional support, and carefully chosen supplements to help rebuild her strength. Once Lexi is stronger and ready, we plan to begin gentle physiotherapy. Our goal is to help her body regain as much sensation and mobility as possible, while supporting her comfort, dignity, and quality of life. Lexi may have been left behind, but she is not alone anymore. With your help, we can give her the care, love, and second chance she deserves. Thank you for standing with Lexi when she needs it most. 1/21/26 Update Lexi had been healing beautifully and adjusting remarkably well. Despite her paralysis, she showed incredible resilience—learning to navigate her world with growing confidence and trust. Sadly, she has now developed pneumonia. Right now, her condition fluctuates from day to day, but we’re encouraged to see that she is doing slightly better. Our team is cautiously hopeful that, with continued treatment and close monitoring, Lexi will pull through. She is a true sweetheart, and she continues to show us just how strong she is. Lexi still needs support. Her ongoing care, medications, and monitoring are critical to her recovery, and every donation—no matter the size—directly helps give her the best chance to heal. If you’re able to help, please consider donating or sharing Lexi’s campaign. Your kindness means everything to her right now.

Kevin Was Too Scared to Ask for Help… But We Heard Him

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

Kevin was found in heartbreaking condition, wandering desperately in search of food while suffering from a severe and unexplained injury around his neck. We don’t know how he was hurt or what he endured before we found him — only that he had clearly been suffering for far too long, and no one had stepped forward to help him. When ACF Animal Rescue brought Kevin into safety, it was immediately clear that he was afraid of people. He kept his distance, stayed quiet, and curled into himself as if trying to disappear. Kevin is an introverted, gentle soul who has learned to survive by staying out of sight — and considering the state he was found in, we can’t blame him. But even in his fear, Kevin showed something remarkable: trust. He allowed our team to begin treatment on his painful neck injury. He let us clean his wounds and provide care. And slowly, day by day, his body began to relax in our presence. Kevin still prefers his own space, still moves carefully and cautiously, but he is healing — not just physically, but emotionally. Kevin’s recovery is just beginning, and he will need ongoing medical care, wound treatment, follow-up vet visits, and plenty of time in a stress-free environment to regain his strength and confidence. Kevin has survived so much on his own. Now he doesn’t have to survive alone. Please consider donating or sharing Kevin’s story. With your help, we can give this shy, gentle boy the chance to heal fully and begin a life where he is safe, loved, and finally understood.

A Brutal Eye Injury Nearly Broke Scully — You Can Help Him Heal

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

Scully came into the care of ACF Animal Rescue in devastating condition. His face told a story of unimaginable pain — his eye had been severely injured, as if a sharp object had been taken to his face. It’s the kind of injury no animal should ever endure, and we can only guess how long he suffered before someone finally stepped in to help. When we first rescued him, Scully was terrified. Every movement made him flinch, every attempt to help him was met with fear. He wasn’t aggressive — just deeply wounded, confused, and expecting more harm. It took patience, gentleness, and time… but slowly, Scully began to let us in. With careful medical treatment, his eye and facial wounds are beginning to heal. He is eating and drinking well, and he’s finally feeling strong enough to relax without fear. And the most heartwarming change of all? Scully is starting to trust us. He’s even allowing gentle brushing — a huge step for a dog who once recoiled at every touch. Scully now spends his days resting comfortably in a small, quiet room where he feels safe for the first time in a very long time. He’s not ready for a busy environment yet, but he is healing — both physically and emotionally — at his own pace. His medical care is ongoing, and the treatment for his eye injury, pain management, follow-up vet visits, and continued rehabilitation come with significant costs. Scully has endured more than any animal should, but he’s finally beginning to believe that he is safe — and that people can be kind. Please consider donating or sharing Scully’s story. Together, we can help this brave boy continue healing and move toward the peaceful, loving future he deserves. 1/5/26 Update We are in awe of the incredible recovery Scully has had! He is healing so well and we are just so happy to have him and see him thriving. He is now full of life and trusting people again. He cannot stop wagging his tail. We still need funds to cover his medical care so far and as it continues. We appreciate everyone's support for this sweet guy! 1/20/26 Update Scully continues to amaze us with his recovery, and we are overwhelmed with gratitude and joy as we watch him thrive. His healing has been nothing short of miraculous. Not only is Scully recovering beautifully from his injuries, but the fear that once lived in his body is gone. He is comfortable, relaxed, and trusting — wagging his tail freely and greeting each day with a calm confidence we once could only hope for. Scully is loving the winter weather here, which has been the perfect balance for him — not too hot, not too cold. He spends his days soaking up the winter sun, resting peacefully, and finally enjoying the simple comfort of being safe. For the first time, he can truly relax. Most importantly, Scully is no longer in pain. Seeing him at ease, content, and living his best life is the greatest reward we could ask for after everything he has endured. We are deeply thankful to everyone who has supported Scully on his journey. His medical care is ongoing, and we still need help covering the costs of his treatment and recovery. Your continued support ensures that dogs like Scully not only survive—but get the chance to heal, trust again, and experience peace.

Rescued From an Empty Water Tank — Alfie Needs Us Now

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

When the ACF Animal Rescue team found Alfie, he was in a terrifying and heartbreaking situation. Somehow — whether he fell or was pushed — Alfie ended up trapped in an empty, uncovered water tank with no way to escape. Skinny, exhausted, and terrified, he pressed himself against the wall, trying to make himself invisible. To make matters worse, children had been throwing stones at him while he was trapped, leaving him confused, frightened, and unsure if anyone in the world meant him kindness. We are incredibly grateful we found him when we did. Our team worked quickly to get Alfie out of the tank and into safety. He was understandably scared, unsure of people, and hesitant to trust — and we don’t blame him. After everything he’s endured, it will take time for his heart to heal. Now that Alfie is safe, he needs ongoing veterinary care, nutritious food, behavioral support, and time in a calm environment to help him fully recover — both physically and emotionally. Your donation will help Alfie continue healing and finally experience the love, security, and stability he was denied for so long. Please donate or share Alfie’s story today. Together, we can show him that compassion truly exists — and that his painful past is over for good. 1/20/26 Update We are so grateful to share that Alfie is doing really well. After being trapped in an uncovered water tank—terrified, emaciated, and treated with cruelty—Alfie has made remarkable progress. He has healed beautifully, and seeing him now feels nothing short of incredible. He’s wagging his tail, relaxed, and showing signs of real happiness as he settles into his forever home at our new sanctuary. But Alfie’s journey isn’t finished yet. While his healing has been amazing, his care is ongoing and costly. Alfie still needs continued veterinary monitoring, quality nutrition, behavioral support, and the stability of sanctuary care to ensure he never has to suffer again. These expenses add up quickly, and right now, we urgently need help covering the cost of his care. Please donate today to help pay for Alfie’s ongoing medical and sanctuary care. Your support goes directly toward ensuring he continues to heal—both physically and emotionally—and that his progress is never compromised due to lack of funds. 3/14/26 Update Alfie is doing incredibly well and truly thriving. These days he can’t stop smiling. His tail is always wagging, and he looks completely at peace. Seeing him so happy is almost hard to believe when we remember the terrified dog we first rescued. When the ACF Animal Rescue team found Alfie, he was trapped inside an empty water tank with no way to escape. He was skinny, exhausted, and terrified after enduring cruelty and having stones thrown at him while he was helpless. It was a heartbreaking scene, and Alfie had every reason in the world to fear people. But Alfie’s story did not end there. Today, he is a completely different little boy. With time, patience, and compassionate care, Alfie has healed both physically and emotionally. He now spends his days safe, relaxed, and surrounded by the kindness he was once denied. His transformation has been nothing short of incredible, and we are so grateful that he was given the chance to experience the life every dog deserves. Because of your support, Alfie is safe and happy — and his painful past is finally behind him. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping make Alfie’s second chance possible.

Meet Luke — A Brave Survivor Who Deserves a New Beginning

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

When Luke came into the care of ACF Animal Rescue, he was in the worst condition imaginable. Someone had thrown stones at him, leaving painful injuries across his body, and a rope was tied tightly around his neck — a heartbreaking sign of the cruelty he had endured. We don’t know how long he suffered or what he went through before someone finally helped him, but we do know this: Luke never should have had to survive any of it alone. The moment he arrived, our team acted quickly to treat his wounds, ease his pain, and show him the kindness he had been denied for far too long. In just two weeks, his transformation has begun — his wounds are healing beautifully, his spirit is lifting, and he is slowly gaining the strength he lost. With every passing day, he is learning that hands can be gentle, people can be safe, and life can be better than the world he came from. But Luke isn’t fully out of the woods yet. He still needs continued veterinary care, follow-up treatments, proper nutrition, and time to regain both his physical health and emotional trust. His recovery is well underway, but he can’t continue this journey without support. Luke has already survived the unthinkable. Let’s show him that he never has to face cruelty again. Help Bo Heal From Unimaginable Cruelty

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

Bo came to us after surviving a brutal attack — her head had been pelted with stones while she was held down and beaten. When she arrived at ACF Animal Rescue, her entire head was a mass of open, bleeding wounds. She was trembling, terrified, and in shock. Her eyes darted around in confusion, trying to make sense of where she was. A kind stranger found her and brought her to our gate — and that simple act of compassion may have saved her life. Bo was severely malnourished, dehydrated, and weak. Her wounds were badly infected, and we weren’t sure she would survive those first critical days. Every movement made her flinch; her body was locked in fear and pain. But slowly, Bo’s story is turning toward hope. Today, there’s a gentle wag in her tail. She’s beginning to trust the people caring for her and shows small, beautiful signs of healing — a quiet stretch, a soft sigh, a blink that says, “I’m safe now.” Bo prefers the safety of her cozy cage, curling up on her blanket and stepping out only when she’s ready. On the streets, there’s no shelter, no protection, no kindness. Here, for the first time, she has all three. At ACF, we’re giving Bo the medical care, protection, and patience she needs to heal — both inside and out.

Samuel’s Head Wound Is Badly Infected—He Needs Urgent Care

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

When Samuel arrived at ACF's rescue gate, their hearts broke. He was trembling with fear, dehydrated, burning with fever—and suffering from a massive, infected wound on his head. It was clear this poor boy had been in agony for far too long. Despite everything, Samuel’s eyes told us something powerful: he hadn’t given up on people. Even in his weakest moments, his tail gave the faintest wag—a small spark of hope that someone still cared. We could tell Samuel had once been someone’s beloved pet. Somewhere along the way, he was abandoned—possibly because his injury required care his owners didn’t want to provide. Left alone, he endured pain no animal should ever experience. Samuel is finally safe now, but his healing journey is far from over. His wound still needs regular cleanings, his body relies on daily medications, and time is the only thing that can truly mend what he’s been through. But he’s fighting—slowly, steadily, bravely. With every gentle touch, every meal, and every bandage change, he’s healing—not just physically, but emotionally too. His wound is beginning to close, his fever has broken, and that hesitant tail wag is becoming a little stronger each day. Now, he needs you to help him finish his journey to recovery. Your donation today will help cover Samuel’s ongoing medical care and bring him the comfort he needs to fully heal. Please, consider helping this resilient boy today. Update 12/4/25 Sweet Samuel has been giving everything he has to recover—but these past few days have been especially hard on him. Despite the gentle care, the medicine, the cleanings, and the love he’s surrounded with, Samuel is slowing down. He’s become more lethargic, and his body is clearly struggling to keep up with the demands of healing such a massive and deeply infected wound. Our team is doing everything in their power to support him, but his condition is now critical. Even so, Samuel keeps trying. There’s still that spark in him—a quiet hope that pushes him to hold on. Every time he lifts his head or gives the smallest wag of his tail, it reminds us just how much he wants to stay, to keep fighting, to feel safe and loved again. But he cannot do this alone. Please keep Samuel in your thoughts—and, if you can, donate to help us continue the critical care he needs right now.

Severely Malnourished and Dehydrated, Finn Is Fighting to Stay Alive

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

When kind strangers found little Finn wandering alone, they knew he wouldn’t survive much longer on his own. They brought him to our rescue gate — a trembling, fragile ball of fur who looked more like a stuffed toy than a real puppy. Underneath that fluffy coat, Finn was severely dehydrated and malnourished. His tiny heart pounded with fear, and he was so stressed that he couldn’t even bring himself to drink water. We had to gently coax him, drop by drop, to help him stay alive. No one knows how long Finn struggled on the streets — hungry, scared, and completely alone. What we do know is that he finally has a chance. With urgent veterinary care, proper nutrition, and time to heal, this terrified little soul can learn to trust again. Please donate today to help Finn recover and feel safe in the world again. Every gift — big or small — helps us give him the love and care he’s been missing for far too long. Update 11/4/25 Sweet little Finn continues to fight for his life, and we’re doing everything we can to help him pull through. When he was rescued, we knew he was in bad shape — but we’ve since learned just how serious his condition really is. Finn is extremely anemic after being covered in fleas that drained much of his tiny body’s blood. On top of that, our vet discovered a critical liver condition that requires intensive treatment and monitoring. He’s also severely malnourished, likely from trying to survive on scraps and never being properly weaned from his mother. Despite everything, Finn is holding on. He’s receiving fluids, specialized nutrition, and around-the-clock care from our team and his veterinarians. We’re taking things hour by hour, giving him every chance possible to recover. Please keep this little one in your thoughts as we continue to fight alongside him. Every bit of love and support truly matters right now.

Penny

Penny is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in Austin, TX, who needs $400 for treatment for skin infection.

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

When rescuers from ACF Animal Rescue found Penny, she was just a baby herself — a frightened young dog who had already become a mother. She had given birth in a small sewer in the middle of the city, desperately trying to protect her newborn pups. Every time someone walked by, she barked in fear, doing everything she could to keep her babies safe. But people misunderstood her cries for help. They saw a “dangerous” dog instead of a terrified mom. Some even tried to kill her, not realizing that behind the barking was pure love and desperation — a little girl fighting for her family’s life. When our team arrived, we found a trembling, exhausted puppy, crying softly in fear. The moment we spoke gently to her, she stopped shaking and let us lift her into safety — no net, no struggle. Just trust. We discovered that she had a skin infection from living in the trash for so long and we will need to treat that. Now, Penny is safe at the shelter. Her body is healing, her puppies are thriving, and she’s finally learning what it feels like to be cared for, not feared. But she still needs your help to continue her recovery and receive full medical treatment.

After Suffering a Serious Head Injury from an Act of Cruelty, Whisper Needs Emergency Care and a Chance to Heal

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

When we first found Whisper, he was wandering slowly down the road, clearly in pain and crying out for help. He had suffered from an act of cruelty, somebody had badly hit his head. He was disoriented, heartbroken, and didn’t know where to go, just quietly pleading for someone to notice. It was the only way he knew how to ask for kindness. Now safe at ACF Animal Rescue, Whisper is beginning his healing journey. He’s still unsure of people and avoids eye contact, unsure if he’s truly safe. But we’re gently showing him that this new world is different. That here, he’ll be met with soft voices, gentle hands, and patient love. We named him Whisper because that’s how he moves now—quiet, cautious, as if trying not to be seen. But behind the fear is a gentle soul waiting to heal. He’s receiving medical treatment for his head injuries, along with nourishing meals, soft bedding, and patient affection from our team. Healing will take time, but we’re committed to walking with him every step of the way. Your donation can help us show Whisper what kindness really feels like. Help Miso heal from a debilitating Tail/Back Injury

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

Miso came to us late one night, barely clinging to life. He was lying lifeless on the side of the road, his back torn and raw, his tail completely gone. Underneath his fur was nothing but skin and bone, and in his eyes… a sadness too deep for words. He was exhausted, dehydrated, and too weak to even stand. But when we wrapped him in a soft blanket, maybe the first he’s ever felt, Miso did something that broke our hearts. He leaned in and hugged us. As if after everything he had endured, what he needed most wasn’t food or medicine, but simple, human comfort. Now, Miso is resting in a cool, air-conditioned room in our shelter, far from the heat and chaos of the streets of Karachi. He’s been sleeping almost nonstop, his body still in disbelief that it’s finally safe. His wounds are being treated, he’s on a careful refeeding plan, and he’s receiving love and care with every step of his healing. Your support can give Miso the second chance he’s quietly asking for. With your help, we can continue his treatment, feed his fragile body, and keep him wrapped in the love he so clearly needs. Miso has survived too much for too long. Let’s help him finally feel peace. Update 9/8/25 Miso is so full of life. It was thought at first that he was shy and introverted, but his personality has really started to shine. He is so loving and social and is always wanting to make friends with the other animals and people. Update 10/1/25 Miso has completely changed his personality, he’s like a totally different dog now! At first, we thought he was introverted, but the truth is that he loves other dogs. Senior dog discarded and dumped in another town needs medical care

Mufasa arrived in the back of a truck, quiet and worn, after traveling miles from another city. An old soul with a fractured front leg, a missing back one, and an injured ear—he looked around, confused and heartbroken. Half of his body had been shaved, as if someone started to care for him, then gave up halfway through. It was clear he had been discarded when things got too hard. He’s severely dehydrated, his vision is fading, and even basic things like using the bathroom are a struggle. But through it all, Mufasa carries himself with quiet pride. He sleeps most of the day now, exhausted from everything he’s endured, but when he stands, he lifts his head with strength and dignity. That’s why we’ve named him Mufasa. Now, he’s safe at ACF Animal Rescue, surrounded by cool air, soft blankets, and kind voices. We’re helping him heal, gently, with compassion. His body is fragile, but his spirit still flickers. Toffee came to us late one night, tucked into himself like he was trying to disappear. He had a broken leg, a body starved thin beneath his matted fur, and eyes full of heartbreak. Abandoned and alone, he looked too tired to keep going, too confused to understand why he’d been left behind. And for a while, he simply gave up. We call it Broken Heart Syndrome. It's not officially diagnosed in animals, but we see it all the time. Pets like Toffee lose their home, their people, and their sense of safety, and their spirit just fades. The night he arrived, he didn’t eat or drink, barely moved, and stared out as if waiting for someone who never came back. But little by little, Toffee is responding to care. He’s begun to eat again. He lets us wrap him in blankets, accepts slow strokes on his head, and rests more peacefully each night. He’s now on medical treatment for his injuries, and with your help, he’ll also get the proper treatment for a broken leg, pain relief, and comfort he needs to fully recover— both body and soul. Toffee’s wounds run deeper than his broken leg. But with your support, we can help heal all of it. Please consider donating to give this gentle boy the warmth, love, and safety he’s aching for. Let’s show Toffee that his heart and his life are worth saving.

Left in a Basket, Longing for Love—Help Popeye Heal From Painful Mouth Infection

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

Popeye once had a home. But when he developed a painful mouth infection, his family abandoned him. They left him in a pink basket, too afraid to move or even meow. He arrived at ACF Animal Rescue tense with fear, and his eyes scanning the room as if searching for the people who left him behind. He didn’t cry. He didn’t hiss. He just sat quietly, confused, hurting, and heartbroken. The infection in his mouth made eating painful, and the heartbreak of abandonment was written all over his face. But even in his silence, Popeye showed us he wanted to trust again. Now, he’s receiving treatment for his infection, and slowly, Popeye is starting to feel safe. He’s beginning to lean into gentle pets, to rest without fear, and to believe that not all humans will give up on him. But he still has a long way to go. He needs ongoing medical care, soft food, and time to fully heal both physically and emotionally. With your help, we can give Popeye the comfort he’s been denied. Your donation helps cover his medical treatment, special diet, and the loving care he needs to feel whole again. Please help us show Popeye that he was never disposable and that his story is far from over.

Once Someone’s Beloved Pet, Atlas Was Found Injured, Dehydrated, and Alone — He Needs Urgent Veterinary Care

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

Atlas was once someone’s pet, a dog who knew what it meant to belong. But when we found him, he was alone on a busy main road in Karachi, curled up behind a concrete pillar as traffic screamed past. He was wounded, starving, and dangerously dehydrated. There was no shelter, no food, no comfort, just confusion in his eyes and exhaustion in his body. We don’t know how long Atlas had been out there, but we know he wouldn’t have lasted much longer. The moment we offered him food, he devoured it right inside the rescue van, desperate and grateful all at once. And then, as he began to realize he was safe, Atlas did something that stopped us in our tracks: he gently reached out his paw, as if to say thank you. Now safe at ACF Animal Rescue, Atlas is beginning to heal. He’s eating regular meals, receiving medical treatment for his wounds, and settling into the comfort of clean blankets and kind hands. The fear is still in his eyes, but so is hope, and that’s something worth fighting for. Your support gives abandoned pets like Atlas a second chance. With your help, we can cover his food, medical care, and the shelter he desperately needs. Help us show Atlas that kindness didn’t forget him and that he’s finally safe. UPDATE 8/15/25 Atlas is doing so much better. His sad eyes have turned happy as he has become more comfortable, especially with the animal care manager. His wounds are healing and he is gaining weight. He is finally starting to relax after everything he has been through.

Help This Senior Dog Finally Know Comfort

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

Moose is an old bully dog who’s endured more than any soul should. Likely used for fighting and discarded when he was no longer “useful,” he came to ACF Animal Rescue painfully thin, weak, and barely hanging on. His body tells the story of years of neglect—his eyes and ears wounded and infected, his frame starved from long-term deprivation. But even after everything, Moose welcomed our team with quiet trust, as if he knew this was finally his chance at safety. For the first time in his life, Moose is experiencing gentle care. No cages. No cruelty. Just kindness, soft blankets, warm meals, and hands that don’t hurt him. He can’t see, and he still moves slowly, but we can already see the change beginning. His breathing is steadier. His body is healing. His spirit is slowly returning. Moose is now on a careful treatment plan, receiving medical care for his infections, a nourishing diet, pain management, and the peace and quiet he’s never known. Our team is working tirelessly to give him the comfort he’s gone without for so long. He may be older, but we believe Moose deserves golden years filled with peace, love, and dignity. Your support can help us give Moose everything he needs to heal. Every donation helps cover food, treatment, clean bedding, and a safe place to rest. Moose’s journey hasn’t been easy, but with your help, it can give him hope and love.

From Forgotten to Found: Tyson’s Road to Recovery

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

You wouldn’t believe it if you didn’t see it yourself—just two tiny eyes glowing in the dark, peeking from the middle of an empty field. That’s where we found Tyson, a little black Lab puppy who had been tied up and left behind. His ear was torn, raw flesh exposed, and his body was weak from days without food. His owners didn’t want him anymore, so they tied him up to a tree and abandoned him. When we approached, Tyson didn’t growl or run. Despite the pain, he looked up at us with eyes full of hope. We rushed him to safety and began treating his wounds, easing his pain, and helping him rest for the first time in days. He’s now in one of our quarantine rooms, eating small meals, walking again, and slowly learning that the world isn’t as cruel as it once seemed. Tyson is still healing. He’s on a custom medical plan with a special diet, daily wound care, and Bravecto to protect him from parasites that could put his fragile immune system at risk. Tyson, and every pup in our care, receives individualized attention, because that’s what it takes to undo the harm they’ve survived. Your support can help Tyson continue this journey. Just one donation helps provide food, medical treatment, clean bedding, and the safety he’s never known until now. Please help us give Tyson the chance to grow into the happy, healthy puppy he was meant to be. Update 9/8/25 Tyson has adjusted very well into the rescue's quarantine room where he is being treated before he can interact with all the other dogs. He is bunking with dogs Mufasa and Mizo and is happy to be their friend. He is a happy pup and his ear injury is slowly healing.

Help Pax on His Path to Peace

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

When Pax was found on the streets in Karachi, he was in heartbreaking condition. His skin was covered in sores, caked with mud, and his face was so inflamed it was barely recognizable. He had almost completely shut down. It was clear this sweet soul had been suffering alone for far too long and had nearly given up. Thankfully, ACF Animal Rescue stepped in just in time. They rushed Pax to safety and immediately began evaluating his condition. The infection had spread worst across his face, leaving painful, crusted patches and open wounds. Vets believe it’s a severe fungal infection, and began treatment right away to give Pax the relief he so desperately needed. The photos shared were taken after Pax had already started to heal as the ones from his first moments in rescue were simply too graphic to show. But even in these, you can still see the toll his past took on him. What gives his caretakers hope is how quickly Pax’s personality is beginning to shine. He’s curious, gentle, and loves to “chat” with anyone who will talk back. Pax still has a long way to go, but thanks to your support, he’s no longer walking this journey alone. Help This Brave Momma and Her Puppy Heal and Feel Safe

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

A poor momma dog was spotted limping through traffic, her injured leg barely supporting her weight as she darted between cars in a panic. ACF Animal Rescue received an urgent call and rushed to help. They found her near a chai shop—frightened, limping, and trying to disappear into the noise of the street. Her leg was badly wounded, and no one knew what she had endured. She wouldn’t let anyone near, terrified and in pain. Not far behind her was her little puppy, just as scared and just as lost. Rescuers worked quickly and gently. They managed to catch both the mother and her pup. The puppy calmed almost instantly once at the shelter. As soon as he felt the warmth of a blanket under him, he curled up and sighed with relief. He accepted pets, love, and food with a quiet kind of gratitude, finally safe. The mama, though, was still in survival mode. She wouldn’t look at anyone, only ate when alone, and stood staring at the wall, frozen in fear. Her body is healing, but her spirit needs time. ACF Animal Rescue’s team is giving her the gentle care she deserves, with no rush and no pressure. Her puppy is blossoming in safety, and one day, she will too. Everything that once hurt them—hunger, fear, pain—is behind them now. They’re together, safe, and finally getting what every animal deserves: a soft place to land. Their rescue was just the beginning. Now comes the hard work of veterinary care, emotional rehabilitation, and daily support to help them fully recover. ACF is committed to their healing, but they can’t do it alone. Donations will help this little family get the fresh start they’ve been waiting for. They made it off the streets. Help Stella Heal from a Severe Head Injury

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

Stella was found alone, injured, and in pain. Her head was badly wounded, the area around her ear raw and inflamed. The wound looked like a burn or abrasion, though the exact cause is unknown. What is clear is that she had been suffering for some time before someone found her and got her the help she needed. ACF Animal Rescue stepped in immediately to begin medical care and ensure she wouldn’t endure another day in pain. Upon intake, Stella was underweight and clearly uncomfortable. Her injury required prompt attention, including daily cleaning, antibiotic therapy, and pain management. The wound was deep and dangerously close to her ear canal, raising concerns about long-term tissue damage. She is currently undergoing regular wound therapy and is being closely monitored to ensure proper healing. Stella has handled her treatment with patience and resilience. Though she remains quiet and cautious, she allows wound care and seeks out gentle human contact during her recovery. Her appetite is improving, she’s gaining strength, and her condition is slowly stabilizing. With continued care, she has a strong chance of full recovery. ACF Animal Rescue is committed to providing Stella with everything she needs to heal, but ongoing treatment comes at a cost. Donations will directly support her medical care, medications, and supportive recovery. With your help, Stella can continue on the path to healing and finally leave this painful chapter behind.

Urgent Help Needed to Save Mother and Babies Covered in Acid

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

In an unimaginable tragedy, a mother dog and her nine puppies were victims of a horrific acid attack. The dog family lived outside a woman’s flat, finding what little safety they could. The woman awoke to the sound of screaming and rushed outside to find the puppies drenched in an orange substance. Unaware it was acid, she picked them up—her clothes tore apart as the corrosive chemical burned through fabric and skin alike. The acid was slow-burning, showing its full damage days later and is extremely painful. Initially, treatment gave hope: the puppies played happily with toys, feeling warmth and love for the first time. Their mother, in shock, ate proper food, likely for the first time in her life. But that hope was short-lived. Two days later, the burns returned with brutal severity, eating into their skin. The acid had seeped deep, clinging to their tiny bodies. ACF Animal Rescue treated them immediately, bathing their bodies to remove the sticky, burning chemicals as they screamed in agony. Tragically, one puppy didn't make it. This sweet family has endured unthinkable pain, but we cannot give up on them. Please donate to support their treatment, recovery, and the safety they desperately deserve.

Young Puppy Needs Help Healing His Heart

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

This little puppy was dropped off at the gates of ACF Animal Rescue in Karachi, Pakistan. He was cowering, trembling in fear as his future was unknown. He was exhausted. There did not appear to be anything physically wrong with him besides a small, muddy patch on his chest. Little did we know this was a life-threatening injury. Beneath the mud, lay a quarter-sized hole that led directly to this puppy's heart, that had been damaged. He had an aggressively high fever and was in so much pain. ACF Animal Rescue acted quickly, giving him various medications to fight infections and help with pain management. His wound was cleaned and given the appropriate dressing to help protect his tiny, exposed heart. This poor puppy is quite literally heartbroken. Buddy was found at a donkey medical camp in Pakistan. The people who ran the camp reached out to ACF Animal Rescue, and mentioned a dog who had been hiding in a hole for several days. After much patience and trying, eventually they were able to coax Buddy out of his hiding spot, where he was slowly dying. He was severely dehydrated and was extremely starving. The most concerning part was the huge gash on the side of his neck that was about the size of a large grapefruit. ACF Animal Rescue has been closely monitoring Buddy, and thankfully, his wound is improving. He is still very timid, but is slowly settling in and becoming more comfortable. Buddy is fighting hard to improve, but he still needs a lot of further veterinary care to fully heal. Please consider supporting his journey back to health.

Kai

Kai is a 5 year old Mix-Breed in Karachi, Pakistan, who needs $600 for Torture Wounds.

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

Kai was dropped off late one night at the front of ACF Animal Rescue, his body littered with cuts and wounds from head to toe. The cuts varied in severity all over his body. Sadly, injuries like these indicate signs of torture and abuse by a human. He was in severe shock and in excruciating pain. He is receiving treatment for his wounds from wonderful caretakers now. He receives both pain medication as well as antibiotics to ensure he does not get any infections. Although the most obvious scars Kai has are on the outside, his spirit has been emotionally abused as well. Kai has been hesitant to receive care, understandably so, as he is still not sure who to trust. He is in excellent loving hands with his caretakers who are giving him the love and patience he needs to emotionally heal. Kai makes it clear he wants to receive human affection, and is just unsure how right now. He opens up a bit more each day. Please help support Kai in his emotional and physical journey back to health. He is with ACF Animal Rescue located in Karachi, Pakistan. They are a non-profit that relies on donations to give animals, like Kai, the much-needed care they deserve.

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

ACF Animal Rescue Champa's story is absolutely gut-wrenching. She is a 4-year-old donkey who was abused and abandoned on the streets of Pakistan. She had her eye badly damaged and was left neglected for so long that there is a large hole in her head. When ACF Animal Rescue rescued her, she had parts of her bone exposed in the massive cavity on her face where her eye should be. This injury is sadly not the only one, as she had more cuts and bruises all over her body. She has been receiving extensive medical care since, and thankfully, is recovering. The rescue is so relieved about her hopeful prognosis. Champa was extremely traumatized. She had been living alone in debilitating pain, unable to care or defend herself. Thankfully, she is now being given a steady supply of medical care, food, water and love. Champa will never face hardships again like she has. Please help show Champa that there is still love and support in this world. She is so deserving, like all animals. Her continued medical care and support relies on donations, so please consider helping her today.

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

ACF Animal Rescue ACF Animal Rescue received a desperate plea for help and responded quickly. The scene they arrived at was heartbreaking. A mother donkey absolutely panicked and helpless, pacing around her poor two-month-old baby. The baby donkey had been abused, her eye badly hit, and her back legs run over. She was limp, badly injured, and so weak she could barely hold her head up. Baby was in critical condition and rapidly taken to the clinic for emergency care. She was given fluids, her eye treated, and given proper pain management. Since then, she has regained much of her strength. She is now up and walking, and she is healing wonderfully. She still has a long journey ahead, but ACF Animal Rescue is so thankful she has made it thus far. On the day of her rescue, once Baby was more stable, she was reunited with her mother, both of them finally at peace to be with each other once again in an environment where they knew they were safe. It was truly a beautiful moment. Baby and her mother have such a special bond. They spend their days together inseparable as they both heal from trauma and regain their health. Savannah is a 2.5 year old Mix-Breed in Karachi, Pakistan, who needs $700 for Wound Care.

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

ACF Animal Rescue As somebody was walking down the road, they heard barks of a dog in distress. They tracked down the barks and realized they were coming from Savannah, a dog who had fallen into a water tank. Immediately, ACF Animal Rescue intervened and sent in a team to extract her. There is no telling how long poor Savannah had been trapped down there, just thank goodness she was heard. Savannah had a huge gash on the side of her neck, about the size of a softball, most likely an injury she received from her fall into the water tank. She has been undergoing close monitoring and treatment. Thankfully, her wound has healed by about an inch or two, which is very encouraging. Savannah had to be absolutely terrified and in so much pain when her rescuers arrived. She was extremely vulnerable. However, when a volunteer lowered himself into the water tank to get Savannah out, she did not lash out. She calmly approached him and accepted the help. She was full of trust and gratitude. She has kept this disposition throughout her care. ACF Animal Rescue is located in Karachi, Pakistan and relies on donations to give Savannah the support she needs on her continued journey to healing. Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

ACF Animal Rescue Mr. Smitten was found at the front gate of ACF Animal Rescue in Pakistan. He was most likely dropped off by a Good Samaritan who found him in absolutely tragic shape. Unfortunately, this is not a rare occurrence for the rescue. Mr. Smitten was in a horrific state, his body in absolute shock. He had a huge deep gash on his ear, or what was left of it. Because of how severe the damage was, he will ultimately lose his ear. He was severely dehydrated and had a very high fever, most likely from an infection. It is unknown who or what caused this aggressive injury to Mr. Smitten. What is just amazing though, is that, despite his horrors, once Mr. Smitten had time to decompress, he is an absolute lover. Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

ACF Animal Rescue At just a year and a half old, Hula Hoop was abandoned on the streets of Karachi, Pakistan. She was left by her owner, assuming she could no longer walk or had use of her back legs. She was rescued and brought to ACF Animal Rescue. Upon arrival, it was assumed by caretakers that Hula Hoop had a severe spinal injury that rendered her paralyzed. Thankfully, upon further assessment, that assumption was incorrect. Hula Hoop does in fact have use of her legs! She will need physical therapy, pain management, and keep a close eye on her health as her spinal injury was a shock to her body. Hula Hoop is an adorable little girl who makes friends wherever she goes. It is not challenging to get this little one to do her physical therapy, as she sees humans and wants to come over to greet them and does her best walking over to do so! She is still very wobbly, but improves every day. ACF Animal Rescue is so happy about the progress this little one has made so far, but she still has a way to go before regaining her full strength. Please consider donating to help support her!

He was extremely disoriented from his injury and spent days without food and water, hitting a dangerous level of dehydration. Thankfully, Juju was taken to ACF Animal Rescue Foundation. Juju got to the ACF clinic with a bowl of clean water with ice, likely his first time drinking clean water in his life. He practically collapsed in relief. His head was extremely swollen from the extensive beating. He also had a large gash on the top of his head. He has been receiving around the clock care for his head wounds and is being fed a proper diet to get him back to a healthy weight. Juju is extremely fearful of humans, understandably so. His caretakers have had to be very patient with him and do their treatments from afar as to not frighten him. It is their hope that, with time, Juju can learn not all humans are bad. Pippa is a 9 year old Mix-Breed in Pakistan, who needs $900 for Severe Neck Wound and Infection.

Austin, TX • ACF Animal Rescue USA

ACF Animal Rescue received a frantic call from a very kind lady, who had spotted a dog lying helplessly on the side of the road. With the help of another bystander, they carted Pippa all the way to the ACF clinic. Upon arrival, it was obvious that this dog needed help. She has a massive open wound on her neck, which is the most pressing issue. She is blind in one eye and has very little vision in the other. Her body was screaming in pain and hunger. She was severely dehydrated. She had smaller injuries in different areas of her body, and swelling near her genitals. Poor Pipa's body had nearly given up. She was limp upon arrival, exhausted from fighting so hard. She laid still, not resisting at all during her treatment. Once the vets cleaned her up the best they could, she began to perk up when they brought over food. She now rests peacefully, knowing she is safe with a regular feeding schedule. It is tangible how much her panic and exhaustion has subsided. Pippa is now safe and will never face the horrors she once did on the streets thanks to ACF Animal Rescue.
