Help Charlie Heal From a Life of Cruelty

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

Charlie is only about six years old, but he has already endured more suffering than any dog ever should. Before coming into the care of D&A Animal Rescue, Charlie was kept chained and left severely malnourished—little more than skin and bones. But the cruelty didn't stop there. His former owner began chaining Charlie to his car to supposedly protect his belongings. Then, one day, something horrific happened: Charlie was dragged behind the vehicle for several blocks. That was two years ago. D&A Animal Rescue immediately stepped in, determined to give Charlie the care and compassion he had been denied for so long. His rescue team spent more than $7,000 on his medical care at the time, fighting to save him and give him a chance at a better life. Today, Charlie is still in their care—and he is now paralyzed. His paralysis has brought new challenges. Because Charlie cannot move normally, he has developed painful wounds and blisters that require constant attention, treatment, and careful monitoring. His caregivers work tirelessly to keep him clean, comfortable, and protected from further injury. Charlie has already survived unimaginable cruelty. He should never have had to fight this hard just to be safe. But despite everything that happened to him, D&A Animal Rescue never gave up on Charlie—and they won't give up now. His ongoing care is expensive, and the costs of medications, wound care, veterinary treatment, and supplies continue to add up. The rescue needs our help to make sure Charlie can receive everything he needs for as long as he needs it. Will you help Charlie keep fighting? 🐾 Your donation can help D&A Animal Rescue provide the daily care Charlie depends on and keep him comfortable as he navigates life with paralysis. Every dollar makes a difference. And if you can't donate, sharing Charlie's fundraiser can help his story reach someone who can. Charlie was once treated as if his life didn't matter. Let's show him just how much his life means. 💜

Help Sweet Wee Wee Live Comfortably in Her Golden Years

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

At 11 years old, Wee Wee has already entered her golden years, and after being surrendered by her family, she found herself needing a new place to call home. Despite being blind, Wee Wee doesn't let the world around her slow her down. She is an incredibly sweet, gentle little girl who is quiet, loving, and happiest when she can simply be close to someone she trusts. All she wants is to feel safe and loved. When Wee Wee came into the care of D&A Animal Rescue, they took her to the veterinarian to find out exactly what she needed to keep her comfortable and healthy. Because of her eye condition, she was referred to another veterinarian for a more detailed ophthalmic examination. The results were difficult, but they also gave her rescue team a clear path forward: Wee Wee will need Latanoprost eye drops for the rest of her life. For a senior dog who has already lost her vision, keeping her eyes comfortable and managing her condition is incredibly important. Thankfully, her blindness hasn't taken away her ability to love. Wee Wee is still the same affectionate little girl who just wants to curl up beside someone and know she's safe. Now, D&A Animal Rescue is committed to making sure Wee Wee receives the lifelong medication she needs. The ongoing cost of prescription eye drops and veterinary care can add up quickly, especially for a rescue caring for multiple animals in need. Will you help give Wee Wee the comfortable, loving retirement she deserves? 🐾 Your donation will help D&A Animal Rescue provide Wee Wee with her Latanoprost eye drops and the veterinary care she needs throughout her golden years. Every gift, no matter the size, helps. And if you're unable to donate, sharing Wee Wee's fundraiser can help her story reach someone who can. Wee Wee may not be able to see the world around her, but she can still feel the love surrounding her. Let's make sure this sweet senior girl never has to wonder if she is loved again. 💜

Rescued From Neglect, This Sweet Boy Needs Urgent Eye Care

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

This sweet boy was rescued from a heartbreaking situation, and now he urgently needs our help. When we found Theo, it was clear he had been suffering for a long time. His eyes are severely infected, painful, and in desperate need of medical treatment. We don’t know how long he has been living in this condition, but the neglect he endured is impossible to ignore. Despite everything, he remains gentle, trusting, and incredibly sweet. Right now, his biggest need is immediate veterinary care to treat his painful eye infection and determine the extent of the damage. In addition to emergency treatment for his eyes, he also needs full veterinary care, including vaccines, diagnostic testing, and heartworm testing to evaluate his overall health after prolonged neglect. We are committed to giving him the medical care, comfort, and second chance he deserves, but we cannot do it alone. The cost of urgent veterinary treatment is overwhelming, and we are asking for help to make sure this boy gets the care he desperately needs. Please consider donating toward his medical care today. Every dollar helps provide treatment, testing, medications, and the chance for a healthier future. If you are unable to donate, sharing his story could help save his life. After everything he has endured, we want his future to finally be filled with kindness, safety, and healing. 5/28/26 Update When Theo first came into our care, he was suffering from severe, painful eye infections caused by prolonged neglect. Thanks to veterinary treatment and the support of donors, he is now comfortable and no longer dealing with that pain. While Theo is doing much better physically, he is still very shy and fearful of people. Thankfully, he now feels safe with our team and is beginning to settle into rescue life at his own pace. Theo still needs ongoing care, food, supplies, and veterinary support as he continues his journey toward a brighter future. If you're able, please consider making a donation to help us continue providing everything he needs. Every dollar makes a difference for Theo and the other animals depending on us. 6/7/26 Update When Theo first came into our care, he was suffering from severe eye infections caused by prolonged neglect. His eyes were painful, inflamed, and in desperate need of medical attention. It was heartbreaking to imagine how long he had been living with such discomfort. Today, Theo is a different dog. Thanks to veterinary care and the support of compassionate donors, Theo's eyes have healed. He is no longer living with the pain that once affected every part of his daily life, and we couldn't be more grateful for the progress he has made. While his physical healing has been remarkable, Theo is still working through the emotional scars left behind by his past. He remains a very shy and cautious boy, especially around new people. However, we are seeing encouraging signs every day. Theo now feels comfortable and safe with our team, and he has begun to trust that the people around him are there to care for and protect him. Watching him relax, settle in, and feel secure has been one of the most rewarding parts of his journey. Healing isn't always just about medicine—it is also about learning that the world can be a safe place. Theo still has a road ahead of him as he continues to build confidence and learn what it means to be loved. We are committed to giving him all the time, patience, and support he needs to continue thriving. Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared Theo's story, and helped make his recovery possible. Your generosity gave this sweet boy the chance to heal and begin a new chapter. As Theo continues his journey, donations are still greatly appreciated. Your support helps provide food, supplies, veterinary care, and ongoing support for Theo and the many other animals who arrive in our care needing a second chance. Every contribution helps us continue saying yes to animals who have nowhere else to turn. Thank you for being part of Theo's story and helping him discover a future filled with safety, healing, and hope. 7/25/26 Update Theo's transformation has been nothing short of incredible, and we couldn't be happier to share this final update with everyone who helped make his recovery possible. When Theo first came into our care, he was suffering from severe, painful eye infections after enduring prolonged neglect. His future was uncertain, but thanks to the generosity of our supporters, he received the veterinary care he desperately needed. Today, his eyes have healed, his pain is gone, and he is finally able to enjoy life the way every dog should. While Theo still carries emotional scars from his past, he continues to make progress every single day. He remains shy and cautious around new people, but with those he knows and trusts, his sweet personality shines through. He has formed a special bond with our team and now greets us with quiet affection, proving that love and patience really can heal even the deepest wounds. One of Theo's favorite things to do is run around the backyard. Watching him stretch his legs, play, and simply enjoy being a dog is a beautiful reminder of how far he has come. The frightened, neglected dog who once lived in constant pain has been replaced by a boy who finally feels safe. We are so grateful to everyone who donated, shared his story, and believed in Theo when he needed it most. Your kindness gave him the chance to heal, rebuild his trust, and discover that life can be filled with compassion instead of fear. From all of us, thank you for being part of Theo's journey. Because of you, this sweet boy now has the opportunity to continue growing in confidence, surrounded by the love and care he has always deserved.

From Abandoned and Heartworm Positive to Hope: Lana’s Second Chance

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

Over a year ago, Lana’s owner abandoned her on the streets. She didn’t understand why. She only knew that suddenly she was alone. For more than a year, Lana survived outside — scavenging for food, avoiding danger, and trying to protect her puppies the best she could. Tragically, most of her babies were lost to accidents on the streets. The fear and heartbreak she endured left her terrified of people and unsure who to trust. When D&A Animal Rescue was finally able to bring Lana to safety, she was shut down and cautious. Survival had been her only focus for so long. But now, she is safe. With patience and gentle care, Lana is slowly learning that not all humans hurt and leave. She is beginning to soften. Beginning to rest. Beginning to trust. Then came more difficult news. At her veterinary exam, Lana tested heartworm positive. Heartworm disease is serious and potentially fatal if left untreated. The treatment process is long, delicate, and expensive. It requires multiple injections, strict activity restriction, medications, and careful monitoring to prevent complications. For a small rescue, this cost is overwhelming. But we cannot let Lana down again. She has already survived abandonment. She has already endured the loss of her puppies. She has already spent a year fighting just to stay alive. Now she deserves more than survival — she deserves a future. Lana needs our help. Every dollar brings Lana closer to a healthy, heartworm-free life. Please consider donating today. Even a small contribution makes a difference when a community comes together. Lana is finally safe. Let’s make sure she gets the full second chance she has waited so long for.

Left on a Sidewalk in the Cold: Sash Needs Our Help

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

Sash is only about 4 months old — but she has already experienced a level of abandonment no puppy should ever know. She was found left behind on a random sidewalk, sealed inside a carrier, in the freezing cold. Our team at D&A Animal Rescue happened to be driving by and noticed the carrier. Something told them to stop and check — and inside, they found Sash, shaking, scared, and alone. If no one had stopped, we can’t imagine what could have happened to her. Despite everything, Sash is incredibly sweet and resilient. She’s a young pup, weighing around 20 pounds, with her whole life still ahead of her. Now that she’s safe, we want to make sure she gets the healthy start she deserves. Sash needs all of the basic preventative care required before she can be adopted, including, spay surgery, a microchip, a full series of puppy vaccines, and preventative medications for fleas, ticks, and heartworms As a small rescue, these essential medical costs add up quickly — especially when emergencies like Sash’s rescue happen without warning. But providing this care is what gives her the chance to grow up healthy, safe, and ready for a loving forever home. Your donation will directly support Sash’s medical care and help ensure that this sweet girl never knows fear or neglect again. She was abandoned once — but with your help, Sash will never be alone again. Please consider donating and sharing Sash’s story. Every dollar truly makes a difference.

Help Save Grace After a Brutal Dog Attack 💔

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

Grace is fighting for her life. She was brutally attacked by another dog and rushed to the emergency room in severe pain and shock. Due to the seriousness of her injuries, she was immediately referred to Texas A&M for lifesaving, advanced care. Veterinarians fear she has suffered significant trauma, including the possibility of a broken elbow and other internal injuries. Despite everything she has endured—including abandonment in her past—Grace remains the sweetest, most gentle soul who only wants love and comfort. Watching her suffer has been absolutely heartbreaking. Her care is urgent, intensive, and incredibly costly. We have already spent over $12,000, and the bills continue to rise. Your donation will help cover: \- Emergency and specialty veterinary care - Advanced diagnostics and imaging - Pain management, stabilization, and surgery if needed - Ongoing treatment and recovery support Grace didn’t choose this pain—but she deserves every chance to heal. Please consider helping us give her that chance. Every donation, no matter the size, goes directly toward her lifesaving care. 1/15/26 Update We have both encouraging and difficult news to share about Grace. The good news first: Grace has come through her surgery beautifully. She healed remarkably well, is comfortable, and is truly back to being herself—gentle, loving, and happy. After everything she’s been through, seeing her wag her tail and enjoy affection again has meant the world to all of us. During her surgery, veterinarians discovered heartbreaking news: cancer was found when Grace’s spleen was removed. After many conversations with her medical team, we were faced with an incredibly difficult decision. We have chosen to focus on Grace’s quality of life. The veterinarians explained that Grace can live happily for an estimated 6–12 months with comfort-focused care. Pursuing aggressive treatment could extend her life by only about six months, with just a 50% chance of success, and would likely involve additional stress and discomfort for her. Right now, Grace is stable, pain-free, and enjoying her days filled with love, rest, and gentle care—and that is what matters most to us. Her emergency care, surgery, diagnostics, and specialty treatment have already exceeded $12,000, and ongoing monitoring, medications, and comfort care will continue to add to that total. Thank you for standing with Grace. Every donation and every share helps us give her the gentle, loving care she deserves for the time she has ahead. 2/1/26 Update Gracie is doing incredibly well and her recovery has been truly amazing. While our hearts are broken after learning that the mass found during her spleen removal was cancer, we are choosing to focus on love, comfort, and making every moment count. Gracie is surrounded by so much love, and we will continue to give her the best life possible for as long as we are blessed with her. We appreciate everyone who has shown her love and has donated or shared her campaign. Giving her a chance at retirement has been costly and we still need to pay off her medical bills. But we are so grateful to have more time with her and be able to show her love and compassion.

Rosita Just Lost Her Whole World… Again

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

I just picked up this sweet girl from the municipal shelter, and my heart is breaking. D&A Animal Rescue is completely full—truly, we had no space left. But how could we say no to Rosita? Rosita’s story is one of resilience, heartbreak, and hope. She was rescued once before from a terrible situation and finally found safety and love with a young woman who adored her. For the first time, Rosita had a home, a bed, a routine, a person. But everything changed overnight. Rosita’s owner was taken into ICE custody, and this gentle girl was suddenly left behind with no one to protect her. When her owner managed to call me from jail, her voice was shaking as she begged: “Please… please find Rosita a wonderful home. I only trust you.” How could we walk away after that? Rosita didn’t understand why she was back in a kennel. She just pressed her face against us, desperate for comfort, trembling with confusion and grief. She had already lost so much—and we refused to let her lose hope, too. We brought her into rescue, even though we are at capacity, and immediately began her medical evaluation. That’s when we learned she is heartworm positive and will need a full heartworm treatment plan to save her life. It’s a long, costly process—but Rosita deserves every chance to heal and find the stable, loving home her owner desperately wanted for her. Despite everything, Rosita is pure sweetness—gentle, affectionate, and trusting. All she wants is a person to love again. Now, she needs you. Your support will help cover Rosita’s heartworm treatment, medications, and continued care while she recovers and prepares for a new beginning. Together, we can give Rosita the future she should have had all along—a safe home, a soft place to land, and a lifetime of love.

Jacob Was Left Tied to a Pole… and Still Chose to Trust

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

Jacob’s story begins in a parking lot—alone, confused, and tied to a pole with no way to move, no food, no water, and no one coming back for him. When our D&A Animal Rescue team arrived, we expected fear or defensiveness. Instead, Jacob did something that broke our hearts: he rolled onto his back and showed us his belly. A silent plea. “Please don’t leave me.” Jacob is just a baby—only about a year and a half old—with the gentlest soul. Despite being abandoned, he greeted us with pure trust, love, and gratitude. We knew instantly that we couldn’t walk away. He deserved safety. He deserved care. He deserved a chance. We brought Jacob straight to the vet, where he received the exams and treatment he had long been denied. He’s now neutered, vaccinated, and finally getting the medical care he needs. Jacob is also dealing with a painful skin rash, likely caused by neglect, and requires special medication and a prescription diet to help him heal. Through it all, Jacob remains sweet, affectionate, and endlessly hopeful—leaning into every hug, wagging at every kind word, and showing everyone he meets that his heart is still open. Your support will help cover his medical treatment, special food, and continued care so he can finally experience the comfort, safety, and love he should have had all along. Jacob trusted us when he had every reason not to. Let’s show him he was right to believe in people. Update 12/4/25 Jacob has now been neutered, fully vaccinated, and—best of all—has tested negative for heartworm! 🎉 These are huge steps forward in his recovery, and he’s healing well from his procedures. But while Jacob is doing everything he can to get better, D&A Animal Rescue is still facing the full cost of his care. His neuter, vaccines, heartworm test, ongoing treatment for his painful skin condition, and prescription diet have created a significant financial strain for our small rescue Jacob is worth every ounce of effort—and every dollar spent—but we can’t do it alone. Your support is still urgently needed to help cover his medical expenses and ensure we can continue caring for him the way he deserves. Thank you for standing with Jacob. Your generosity is the reason he’s healing, hopeful, and finally safe.

Alone and terrified, they were found in heartbreaking condition: dehydrated, malnourished, and covered in filth. One dog is missing a leg. All nine tested positive for hookworms and coccidia. They range from vulnerable puppies to fragile seniors. D&A Animal Rescue stepped in and saved them, giving them their first baths, fresh water, and a chance at life. But they need so much more. These dogs require urgent medical treatment, proper nutrition, and patient, ongoing emotional rehabilitation. They’re scared, hurting, and unsure who to trust. They have a long way to go to heal both physically and mentally, but D&A is determined to make sure they receive the care and love they desperately need and deserve. Their journey to recovery has just begun. Please consider donating today to help these nine survivors get a second chance. Update 9/9/25 The dogs are doing so well with their heartworm treatment and are just the cutest, happiest pups.

Suffering, Surrendered, and Still So Sweet — Help Chiquita Get the Treatment She Needs

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

In the past two weeks, D&A Animal Rescue has taken in several dogs in urgent need of care—but one in particular has touched every heart on the team: Chiquita. Chiquita was surrendered by her owner in heartbreaking condition. From the moment she arrived, it was clear she was in pain and had been suffering for quite some time. Her anus was severely swollen, making it difficult for her to even sit or move comfortably. On top of that, her teeth were in terrible shape—likely causing her constant discomfort with every bite and every breath. D&A Animal Rescue rushed her to the vet, where the initial exam raised even more concern. The vet suspects that Chiquita may be suffering from TVT (transmissible venereal tumor)—a form of cancer. A specialist appointment is scheduled for next week, but in the meantime, her condition remains fragile and painful. Now, D&A Animal Rescue is asking for the community’s help to continue providing the care Chiquita so desperately needs. Please consider giving today and being a part of Chiquita’s healing journey. She deserves to know what it means to be healthy, safe, and loved.

Caged No More: Help Sweet Senior Becky Heal

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

Meet Becky. This sweet, senior Chihuahua has spent years in a small, cramped crate—locked away, forgotten, and alone. For hours every day, she was confined to that tiny space, with only 15 minutes of outside time where a short leash gave her little more than a glimpse of freedom. Becky’s body bears the marks of this prolonged neglect. Her fur is infested with fleas, her toenails painfully overgrown, and her fragile frame is underweight, a testament to years of suffering. Her movements are stiff and labored from the confinement, and it’s clear that the years of isolation have taken their toll. But despite all the hardship, Becky is a survivor. She is a sweet, gentle soul who deserves so much more than the life she’s known. Now, she needs a loving family who will shower her with the care and affection she has long been denied. D&A Animal Rescue is committed to giving Becky the chance at the life she deserves, but they need your help to cover the costs of her medical care. Please join D&A Animal Rescue in giving Becky the chance to live a life full of happiness, love, and peace.

A Legacy of Love: Help Keep Henry Healthy in His Golden Years

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

Henry's story began with hardship. Found emaciated and struggling to survive, he was rescued by D&A Animal Rescue and brought into safety. But his struggles didn't end there. Henry tested positive for heartworm. Yet, with time, treatment, and the compassion of those around him, Henry overcame the heartworm battle and regained his strength. Despite for his readiness for a fresh start, he waited year after year for a family of his own. But for reasons unknown, no one chose him. Instead, he became family to D&A - a loving, loyal, and enduring presence. Recently, the D&A team noticed that Henry was having some health issues. They took him to the vet who found six masses and recommended removal to prevent them from growing. Henry underwent surgery and the masses were successfully removed. However, the diagnostics revealed some concerns: Henry's bloodwork showed an elevated MPV (mean platelet volume), which is something that will need ongoing monitoring to ensure his continued well-being. Henry has been part of the D&A family for nearly a decade. Your donation will help provide Henry with the medical care he needs to stay happy and healthy in his golden years.

From Roadside Fear to Rescue Hope: Help Vicky Heal

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

Over the past few days, D&A Animal Rescue has faced a whirlwind of emotion and urgency, taking in several dogs in dire need of help. Among them is one little soul whose story has touched the entire team more deeply than words can express. Late one night, the D&A Team was driving home when their headlights illuminated a heartbreaking sight—a frightened dog frozen in the middle of a busy road. Cars raced past her, missing her by inches, as she stood trembling and unsure where to turn. Without hesitation, the team pulled over, carefully approached her, and after several minutes filled with patience and gentle reassurance, they were able to scoop her up and bring her to safety. That moment changed everything. They named her Vicky - a survivor that instantly captured their hearts. Vicky is now safe, but her journey is far from over. She arrived at the rescue covered in fleas, with a large, unexplained scar along her side. It's also unclear whether she’s pregnant or has recently given birth. Her eyes tell a story of hardship, yet she shows a spirit full of quiet strength. Despite the trauma she’s endured, Vicky has already begun to trust—and she is ready to heal. With your help, Vicky's story can be one of hope, not heartbreak. Please consider donating so Vicky can receive the veterinary care she desperately needs to be healthy. Update 5/25/25: Today has been an incredibly challenging day for D&A Animal Rescue and their sweet girl, Vicky. The organization had taken Vicky to the vet for her scheduled spay surgery, hoping it would be the first step toward a healthier future for her. However, during the procedure, the veterinarian discovered a mass on her leg that needs to be removed. This unforeseen issue has added significant unexpected costs to Vicky’s medical care. Vicky has clearly had a difficult past. The scars on her leg and the marks on her face suggest she may have been hit by a car. Despite these physical reminders of her tough start in life, Vicky’s spirit remains strong and unbroken. Unfortunately, she also tested positive for heartworms and hookworms, which makes her treatment even more urgent. The rescue initially budgeted $375 for Vicky's spay, but with the additional costs of the leg surgery and the heartworm treatment, her bill has skyrocketed to $859—and this doesn’t even include the heartworm injection, which is expected to cost around $575. The team at D&A Animal Rescue is doing everything possible to provide the care she needs, but these unforeseen medical expenses have placed a heavy burden on their budget. Despite these challenges, the organization remains committed to helping Vicky heal. She is a sweet, loving dog who deserves a future filled with joy and care. Any support or kind thoughts would be greatly appreciated as Vicky continues her journey to recovery. Her road ahead may be tough, but with the help of compassionate supporters, she will have the chance at a healthier and happier life.

Emergency Surgery Can Give Amy More Time - Help Her Beat This Tumor

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

Amy has spent her 11 years on this earth being nothing but gentle, loving, and loyal — the kind of dog that melts your heart with a single look. She’s not just a rescue; she’s family to those who’ve cared for her, especially the team at D&A Animal Rescue, who gave her a second chance when she needed it most. But now Amy needs another miracle. D&A recently noticed something terrifying — a mass growing in Amy’s belly. Concern turned into urgency as specialists performed ultrasounds and ran tests. The latest results brought hard news: the mass is on her spleen. It’s growing fast, and it’s making Amy uncomfortable. Time is not on her side. The first step is a major surgery to remove her spleen. Then the mass will be sent to pathology to determine if it's benign. If the mass turns out to be non-cancerous, she’ll face a second surgery to remove any remainder of the tumor. D&A Animal Rescue is doing everything in their power to give Amy the best chance at healing, but the costs of surgery, pathology, aftercare, and ongoing medical support are a hefty $4,000. Please consider donating today and helping give Amy the fighting chance she deserves.

Flea-Covered and Forgotten — Help Roshi Get the Care He Needs

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

A few days ago, D&A Animal Rescue saved a sweet, scared senior dog who came far too close to losing his life—he was nearly hit by several cars while wandering the streets alone. This gentle soul, now named Roshi, had been fending for himself for weeks. After speaking with neighbors and checking local community apps, D&A learned that no one was looking for him. He had no collar, no microchip, and no safe place to call home. Roshi is in rough shape. His body is covered in fleas, he hasn’t been neutered, and he’s long overdue for vaccinations. D&A is also preparing to test him for heartworms and other age-related health issues. Despite it all, he wags his tail and leans into love. Medical care for senior dogs can be expensive, and every step—from his initial vet visit to ongoing treatment—is vital to Roshi’s recovery and quality of life. Help Make Dixie's Dream of a Better Life Come True

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

D&A Animal Rescue needs your help for a sweet, heartbroken dog named Dixie. Just the other day, a man came to D&A's door asking if he could take an old plastic crate they had thrown away. When they asked him what he needed it for, he told them something that shattered their hearts: he planned to use it to dump a dog. That dog? Dixie. Dixie is a gentle, loving Doberman, but she’s been through far too much. She’s already had a litter of puppies, and sadly, he’s given them all away. Now, she’s left behind, underweight, with pale gums, still producing milk, and desperately in need of care. D&A needs your help to provide Dixie with the medical attention she needs. She requires spaying to prevent further litters, and she needs her basic vaccinations to stay healthy and safe. The cost to get her vaccinated and spayed will be at least $500, and that doesn’t even include the additional care she might need. Dixie deserves a chance at a healthy, happy life. She deserves a family who will love her and care for her properly. Please, consider donating to help Dixie during her recovery. Update 4/29/25: Dixie went to the vet to be spayed and during surgery, the vet discovered a mammary mass. They immediately removed it and sent it to pathology. D&A Animal Rescue is now anxiously awaiting results to find out whether it’s benign or something more concerning. As if that wasn’t enough, Dixie's tests also came back positive for heartworm—a diagnosis no one ever wants to hear. When the D&A Team went to pick her up, Dixie was in pain from the surgery, clearly uncomfortable… and yet, this incredible girl still wagged her tail when she saw them. That’s the kind of spirit Dixie has—resilient, loving, and full of hope, even when life throws the hardest challenges her way. Update 5/6/25: We’re thrilled to share that Dixie has made a full recovery from her spay surgery and the removal of her tumor — and even better, the tumor was benign! Now, Dixie is ready to tackle the next critical phase of her healing journey: heartworm treatment. This treatment is essential to give her a healthy, happy future, but it comes with a large cost. Dixie still needs your support to complete her treatment and finally get the all-clear on her health. Update 9/9/25 Dixie is doing well and still learning how to trust fully. She gets along with other dogs and with people but is easily scared. In addition to her vetting, we are working on socializing her and working on improving her trust.

Rosie’s Journey: A Second Chance After 6 Days of Survival

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

Rosie was supposed to be traveling up north to a new foster home, a new chance at life. But something went terribly wrong. In a moment of sheer terror, she escaped, and for six agonizing days, she was lost in the wild, harsh woods. Imagine the fear she must have felt. Those woods are filled with coyotes, wild animals, and the overwhelming loneliness of being lost. D&A traveled miles and miles to find their baby, and after six long, heartbreaking days, they finally managed to trap her. She’s home now, but the path to regain her trust and help her heal—physically and emotionally—has just begun. When D&A Animal Rescue brought her back to Texas, the sight of her was heartbreaking. Rosie was anemic, dehydrated, and covered in ticks. But even worse, her spirit was broken. Every sound, every movement—she cowers in fear. She’s terrified, and it’s clear that this journey has left deep emotional scars. It’s going to take time, patience, and a lot of love to help her heal. The road ahead won’t be easy, but with your support, Rosie will learn to feel safe again. Together, we can give Rosie the life she deserves—a life full of love, security, and the joy that comes with being surrounded by those who love her. Update 5/11/25: Rosie is recovering well physically — her strength is returning, and her body is healing more each day. Emotionally, however, Rosie still has a long road ahead. She remains very skittish in unfamiliar environments and continues to struggle with fear and uncertainty. After consulting with their trusted dog trainer, D&A Animal Rescue believes Rosie needs more time to heal before adoption can be considered. Right now, the priority is giving Rosie a stable, calm environment where she can build confidence and learn that the world is a safe place. Adoption is not currently an option, but with continued care and patience, D&A is hopeful for her progress. Every donation helps provide the training, resources, and emotional support Rosie needs to thrive.

Buddy’s Fight: Help Give This Sweet Senior a Second Chance

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

Buddy, a sweet and gentle 10-year-old mix, is fighting for his life—and he needs your help. Over the past four days, D&A Animal Rescue has been on a heartbreaking journey, desperately seeking answers about Buddy’s health. After multiple visits to three different emergency rooms, we now know that Buddy is facing a critical situation. He has a mass in his spleen, and the news doesn’t get easier. His liver and kidneys are in poor condition, and he is severely anemic. While doctors are still working to fully understand his condition, one thing is clear: Buddy’s only hope for survival is surgery to remove his spleen. However, his blood work needs to improve before surgery can even be considered, as he is currently too weak. Despite the uncertainty, one thing is certain—Buddy needs immediate medical care to survive. D&A has already spent over $4,000 on emergency vet visits and tests, and the road ahead will be even more costly. The surgery Buddy so desperately needs will cost at least $4,000, and D&A can’t do it without your help. Buddy is a loyal and loving dog, and now he needs us to return that love by giving him the chance to heal and live. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward saving Buddy’s life. With your help, we can give him a fighting chance. Update 2/22/25: Buddy has made small improvements. He’s now eating and drinking on his own, which is a positive sign. D&A have an appointment scheduled at Texas A&M, where they hope to get a clearer picture of what’s going on and determine the best way to move forward. Update 2/27/25: D&A took Buddy to Texas A&M Veterinary Clinic, where he underwent several examinations. They are relieved to share that he is stable enough to proceed with surgery for his spleen removal, which is critical due to the risk of the mass rupturing and causing internal bleeding. The estimated cost for the surgery and the necessary exams is around $7,500. D&A understands this is a significant amount, and is humbly reaching out for any support you might be able to offer to help cover these expenses. Your kindness and support during this challenging time means the world to them. Thank you so much for considering helping Buddy.

A Future Free from Pain: Help David Overcome His Injuries

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

D&A Animal Rescue was devastated to learn that this adorable boy was nearly ripped to shreds following a vicious attack from other dogs. Left trembling under a picnic table, he trembled with every heaving breath, his eyes doused in fear and pain. The incident left him in severe distress, with deep gashes across his stomach and blood pouring from his wounds. D&A raced David to an emergency vet hospital to get him the help he desperately needed. He underwent X-rays that revealed just how severe his injuries were, and the vets administered crucial fluids and provided ample pain relief. He was also battling a flea infestation and was treated promptly for it. These initial treatments cost us a staggering $1,500, but this was just the beginning. Upon careful examination, the veterinarian recommended transferring David to a specialist for exploratory surgery. D&A was warned that further complications could also happen, the additional burden looming overhead. The cost of this next surgery is estimated to be between $3,000 and $4,000. D&A is determined to stand by David’s side every step of the way and help him fight this ongoing battle, but they desperately need your help to do so. David is such a kind soul that deserves nothing more than to cozy up in a loving home, forever free from pain and suffering. Update 2/9/25: David is overall doing well! His spirits are high, and his sweet, spunky personality is shining through more than ever. He’s a bundle of joy, always happy and eager to play. It’s heartwarming to see him so full of life after all he’s been through. However, we’ve received some difficult news. David has tested positive for heartworm, which means he will need some serious medical care to get him back to full health. While this is a setback, we’re hopeful that with the right treatment, he can overcome it and continue his journey to a healthy, happy life. Update 2/22/25: While David’s doing well overall, next week marks the beginning of his heartworm treatment. Unfortunately, this treatment is a tough one. It involves painful injections and will require David to limit his activity for several months while he recovers. We are taking it slow, recognizing that they need time to trust. Now, we need YOUR help! With proper vetting and socialization, we are confident they will become adoptable soon. Can you support their care? Every contribution, big or small, is ENORMOUSLY appreciated. Let's work together to give these deserving dogs a second chance at a happy life!

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

D&A Animal Rescue Coco came to us as an owner surrender, residing in a backyard crate without proper care. Alone and in pain, she tugged at our hearts, prompting us to take action. Upon her arrival, we provided Coco with a warm bed, nourishing food, and, most importantly, love. Despite her sweet nature, signs of her suffering were evident. A trip to the vet revealed a lump in her neck and severe dental issues causing discomfort. Our team administered antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, and pain relief. Should there be no improvement after 10 days, a specialist visit might be required. Coco is a treasure trove of affection, and we are dedicated to ensuring she receives the care necessary for her healing. Your donations are crucial to D&A Animal Rescue's efforts to give Coco a fresh start and a future filled with joy. Please consider contributing to support Coco's journey towards a brighter tomorrow.
