Rosie
Rosie is a 5-year-old Golden Retriever in Bend, OR, who needs $2,000 for urgent cancer treatment.
Bend, OR
It doesn't seem fair! Rosie is only five years old and was hit with a cancer diagnosis. Her human family is devastated. "She was acting a little bit off to me. I'm very in tune with her," Kerry S., Rosie's human mom, tells Waggle. Then Kerry noticed Rosie's gums were pale, and she rushed her to the ER. After many tests, the animal hospital staff discovered Rosie had a tumor on her heart. A surgeon removed the growth, and Rosie is going through chemotherapy. Rosie's oncologist recommends she has FidoCure® treatment. It uses genomic testing to identify possible cancer-causing mutations and suggests targeted therapy to attack the cancer cells precisely. Kerry says they are begging for help to pay for this step in Rosie's care so she can live out her life. "We have spent $14,000 on two credit cards for her care right now," Kerry says. "We want to give her the best chance. She is so special to our family. She was meant to be a part of us!"

Faline
Faline is a 1.5-year-old Shepherd Mix in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for Distemper and Hospitalization.
Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates
This sweet girl found herself at the shelter, "presumably" surrendered by her owner. Presumably because the person just dropped her off in the lobby without a word. When confronted to complete the intake paperwork, the person refused and walked out without even leaving her name. She had no collar, no toys, and not even a name. Even though the shelter was completely full and at max capacity, they took her into their care. They also gave her the proper name of Faline. Due to being so full, they did not have a run for her but they did have a crate for her. Once she was all settled into her space, the shelter staff left for the evening. The next morning was a nightmare for all of the shelter staff and for sweet Faline. They found her very ill as there was blood in her cage and she was very lethargic. They quickly ran tests and it was determined that she was positive for parvo. They did not have a medical fund and could not provide further care so they reached out to One by One Animal Advocates (OBOAA) for further assistance. OBOAA took her into their care with open arms. She has since been hospitalized at Proctorville Animal Clinic for the past week and had to spend the weekend in the emergency room. Toward the end of the week, the vet reached out to the rescue stating they were concerned about her signs and symptoms. The diagnosis by the vet confirmed it was distemper, parvo, coronavirus, and mycoplasma. All of this could have been avoided by just simple routine vaccines. Now, Faline fights every day to live. "We are determined to help her get better so she knows what it feels like to be loved", says Heather with the rescue. Please consider helping Faline and OBOAA today.

Marco
Marco is a 1-year-old Chihuahua in Huntington, WV, who needs $1,600 for immediate surgery.
Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates
Marco was abandoned by the only family he knew. The young pup was dumped along a busy highway and struggled to survive. He was scared, alone, and hungry. He begged for food handouts from anyone that would help him at his new "home," a local gas station. Then Marco was hit by a car! He had a broken pelvis and a dislocated leg and could no longer stand. The injured pup landed in a high-kill shelter, where he sat for days without pain medication or medical care. The shelter was at max capacity, and due to Marco's medical issues, he was at the top of the euthanasia list. That's when One by One Animal Advocates came to his rescue! "Marco didn't ask to be abandoned, hit by a car, or end up in a shelter, and we certainly didn't want him to die," Heather A., from the nonprofit group, tells Waggle. The group was stretched to its financial limits, but if they didn't save Marco, he would have been killed. Marco needs surgery to help him heal and walk again at the Proctorville Animal Clinic. Please give to his campaign so he can have a second chance at a new life!

Tay
Tay is a 1-year-old Pit Mix in Alexandria, VA, who needs $2,000 for Parvo Treatment.
Alexandria, VA • Vindicated Pit Bull Rescue
Our rescue pulled Tay from the PG county shelter in VA where there is Breed Specific Legislation. Dogs deemed "pit bull type dogs" are considered illegal and are ineligible for adoption. They can only leave the shelter through a 503c rescue organization and fostered in a home outside of the county. Tay had only been in a foster home for a few days before becoming sick. After a week in a foster home, he began throwing up and was admitted to the hospital. Tay was also exposed to Parvo at the shelter. He is now fighting for his life at the Metropolitan Animal Center. He is an affectionate, playful dog. He deserves a chance to show his true personality in a home of his own. Tay is a young dog with a playful spirit. His ears go up, down, sideways, together and sometimes do their own thing! He is incredibly expressive and communicates a lot through his ears. His tail never stops wagging and he loves to roll over for belly rubs. He did great meeting other dog and kept a relaxed, wagging body. Tay has endured an exploratory surgery bc his imaging (X-rays) suggested an obstruction. He tested positive from Parvo at that time. He has been fighting for his life in the Metropolitan Animal Center under 24 hour supportive care for several days. Tay has a feeding tube as he is not eating. They have attempted a fecal transplant and we are anxiously waiting to see if the treatment is working. Tay's obstruction surgery, 24/7 hospital care and fecal transplant has bankrupted our reserve funds. We are having to ask other vets for an extension to pay our other bills. We do not want to have to make a decision for Tay's life based on available funds. Please help us.

Mercury
Mercury is a 6-year-old Staffordshire Terrier in Incline Village, NV, who needs $2,000 for Mast Cell Cancer.
Incline Village, NV • Wylie Animal Rescue Foundation
Mercury came to use 2 years ago from a high kill CA shelter where he was at the end of his days and set to be euthanized. Mercury needs help! This beautiful 6-year old Staffordshire terrier was rescued from euthanasia almost 2 years ago. WARF neutered him and removed several mast cell tumors that were diagnosed as non- malignant. Mercury lives in his own private cabin at our Stagecoach sanctuary where he is very peaceful and loves interaction with the volunteers who care for him. Please help us let him live his days out where he is happy. He has his own private cabin dubber Mercury's Palace that we built for him to give him the space he needs. Mercury would not have been alive if we hadn't pulled him from the red list at a high kill shelter. He is a smiling, loving boy who was clearly abused and needed safety which we provided. He currently loves our trainer and most of us who care for him. We would do anything to keep him in his happy environment and continue to give him the love he deserves and needs. Mercury needs help! This beautiful 6-year old Staffordshire terrier was rescued from euthanasia almost 2 years ago. WARF neutered him and removed several mast cell tumors that were diagnosed as non- malignant. Mercury recently was diagnosed with a recurrence of mast cell cancer, so will undergo emergent surgery this week to remove the additional tumor cells. We did not budget for this as no one can expect cancer. We love him and he's happy and we want to be able to care for him. We unfortunately did not expect cancer, as no one can, but we need to do what is right for him.

Bentley
Bentley is a 6-year-old Hound Mix in St Clairsville, OH, who needs $2,000 for Heartworm, Lyme, and Enlarged Prostate Treatment.
St Clairsville, OH • The Road Home Animal Project
We drove several hours to pull 3 dogs from a shelter after they put out an SOS needing help because they were full. While there we also pulled Bentley because he was declining in the shelter. He had been there for months and was starting to lose weight and didn't seem to be interested in anything let alone food. So, we added him to our transport to see if we could make his life better. Bentley is now in a foster home, trying to sleep in tiny dog beds rather than the large ones. It must make him feel better. He is no longer sleeping on the concrete in a shelter. He gets along with all his fur siblings in the foster home. He is gentle, quiet and acts very grateful to be out of the shelter. Bentley ended up in the shelter from a hoarding situation. Since we pulled him from the shelter, he has been such a happy boy. He no longer looks depressed. He is learning what treats and toys are all about. He makes us so happy now to see him enjoying a dog bed and having a look of relief rather than worry. We immediately took him to our vet. Lab work confirmed several medical issues. He is Lyme positive, heartworm positive, was full of whip and hookworms and underweight. He was started on a medical treatment plan to get him feeling better. He then had some GI issues. He has an enlarged prostate. He will be weaned off Prednisone to be neutered and then restart treatments. We are a 501c3 with 100% volunteers. We rely on donations. All animals are in foster homes so we have minimal overhead. Donations go directly to animal care instead of utilities and building maintenance.

Oliver
Oliver is a six-month-old Shih Tzu in Huntington, NY, who needs $2,000 for urgent brain surgery.
Huntington, NY • Remember me Rescue NY
Oliver is an underdog, and he needs your help. An animal lover found him as a stray in Queens, New York, covered in urine, feces, and badly matted. They contacted Remember Me Rescue NY, who took Oliver in and immediately noticed something wasn't right. "His eyes would go in opposite directions," Michele D. from the group tells Waggle. "He has limited vision and bumps into things. He will often walk in circles." A neurologist determined Oliver has hydrocephalus -- fluid on his brain. He could have been born that way, or it could have been due to an injury. But the pressure causes the brain to die. Oliver's best chance at a bright future is to have a shunt inserted in his brain to relieve the pressure. It's a risky operation, but he's just a puppy and deserves a shot! Will you give to help Oliver get the surgery he urgently needs?

Amaryllis
Amaryllis is a 9-year-old Labrador Retriever mix in McKinney, TX, who needs $1,500 for immediate hospitalization.
McKinney, TX • Legacy Humane Society
Amaryllis, a sweet senior gal, was dropped off at the Legacy Humane Society. Her former owner said her grandchildren "dumped" the dogs on her, and she could no longer care for Amaryllis because of her medical conditions. The humane society's veterinary team discovered Amaryllis had severe heartworm disease. They started treatment immediately, but Amaryllis suddenly went into heart failure. She's now being treated for her heart condition and doing very well in a foster home. Sadly, it appears Amaryllis never had her own bed until she went to her foster's house. "For a few days, she didn't know what a dog bed was and would only sleep on the hard floor next to it. But, she finally figured it out, and now she loves her bed," Molly B., with the humane society, tells Waggle. Now the nonprofit group is trying to raise money for Amaryllis' medical care, and they need your help! "We are doing everything we can to make sure her life isn't cut short, and we would greatly appreciate all the support," Molly says. "Any amount will go a long way in helping us give her the life she's worthy of."

Charles
Charles is a three-month-old English Bulldog in McKinney, TX, who needs $1,000 for urgent bladder stone surgery.
McKinney, TX • Legacy Humane Society
Charles was one of the surviving pups from his litter after his pregnant mama was dumped at the Legacy Humane Society by a breeder. Charles was doing well until recently. His foster parent noticed he was urinating blood and raced him to the animal hospital. This adorable, loving pup has bladder stones and needs them removed immediately. Now the humane society is rushing to raise the money for his surgery and have his stones sent to pathology to understand what caused his condition. "With the surgery, he will go on to live a long puppy life," Molly B., with the Legacy Humane Society, tells Waggle. "The bladder stones will not impact his quality of life." Please help raise the money for Charles' life-changing operation.

Nimdy
Nimdy is a one-year-old Shepherd in McKinney, TX, who needs $2,000 for leg surgery.
McKinney, TX • Legacy Humane Society
Left abandoned on the side of a highway with nothing but a blanket is how a good Samaritan discovered Nimby. That person saw Nimby was injured and needed emergency care. So they took him to the nearest animal hospital and called the Legacy Humane Society. Poor Nimby had a fractured femur. He was not microchipped, did not have a collar with tags, and no one claimed him. The Legacy Humane Society is raising money for Nimby's urgently needed surgery to repair his fractured leg. Though Nimby looks at you with those sad eyes, he's expected to make a full recovery and have much happier days ahead! "Despite his injury, Nimby is a super smart boy and very laid back," Molly B., with the nonprofit group, tells Waggle. "His story didn't start well, but Legacy Humane Society is trying its best to give him his best shot and a second chance." Legacy Humane Society's mission is to help animals that have been abused, neglected, and abandoned. Please give to assist Nimby!

Ralph
Ralph is a 6-month-old Pit Bull in Oakland, NJ, who needs $2,000 for urgent surgery.
Oakland, NJ • Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge
When Ralph arrived at the animal control shelter, he was emaciated, could barely walk, and had maggot-infested infections in his muzzle, tail, and paws. If that was not horrific enough, Ralph also contracted parvo, a potentially fatal virus. Despite barely being able to lift his head, Ralph remained unbelievably grateful, cooperative, and sweet. Animal control officers contacted Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge for help. Without immediate hospitalization, Ralph would not make it. The rescue rushed Ralph to the Oradell Animal Hospital, where veterinarians discovered there was a horror story behind his condition. "Ralph's muzzle, which looks like it was tied shut, swelled from abscesses and his wounds were from cigarette burns," Amy H., with the rescue group, tells Waggle. "We can't even imagine the abuse he endured while being starved." The nonprofit group is desperate for donations to help pay for Ralph's hospitalization and surgery to remove his infected tail. They are optimistic with round-the-clock care combined with his fighting spirit -- he will pull through! "Our resources are stretched to the limit when the cost of care is at an all-time high, and donations have fallen, but we just couldn't leave Ralph to fight alone," Amy says.

Cora
Cora is a one-year-old German Shepherd in Oakland, NJ, who needs $2,000 for emergency hospitalization.
Oakland, NJ • Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge
Cora is a stunning 1-year-old German shepherd, who was brought to the hospital to be euthanized after falling ill to parvo, the virus that heartbreakingly killed her sister. Yet another neglected shepherd, fighting for her life at the hands of irresponsible humans. Another dog struggling to live merely for lack of an inexpensive, routine vaccination. Cora watched her sister die from parvovirus and then had to fight the virus herself. Cora was brought to the hospital to be euthanized by her owners, but luckily Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. stepped in to provide her with the emergency care she so desperately needed. They suspect Cora to be the product of backyard breeding, likely facing a life of breeding puppies had she not become ill. Besides her medical needs, she is a super friendly, big, energetic puppy who will be looking for her forever home once she's recovered. She is a spirited puppy who needs some help with basic training and house manners as she likely lived outdoors all her life. The poor girl was covered in fly bites as well when the rescue took her in. Cora experienced the worst of the gastrointestinal symptoms of parvovirus, while on supportive care with vomiting and diarrhea, but despite her condition, she remained super sweet at the hospital. Cora sadly had to have an NG tube placed, as she was not eating and the rescue feared that without nutrition, she would succumb to parvovirus. Amy with Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge says, "We can’t change what happened to Cora’s sister, but we can change her fate. When others have failed Cora, you are her hope. Thanks to your devoted friendship, these dogs can find healing and families who treasure them."

Jake
Jake is an 11-year-old Chihuahua in Chesapeake , VA, who needs $2,000 for a CT scan.
Chesapeake, VA
Jake is fighting a rare form of cancer and needs your help! Gabriella A., Jake's human mom, got heartbreaking news in March. Her beloved dog had an orbital meningioma. The tumor was in his left eye, which was surgically removed. Now Jake needs a CT scan to ensure no cancer was left behind. If there is residual cancer, Jake will require radiation treatments. Gabriella paid for all of Jake's initial testing and surgery, and now she's struggling to pay for his scan. "Jake's scan will cost $3,500," she says. "We need assistance with the rest as his surgery, and other vet bills were very expensive and unexpected. It would mean the world to us for Jake to be cancer free once again so he can continue living happily!"

Meredith
Meredith is a one-year-old Heeler mix in Tulsa, OK, who needs $2,000 for urgent surgery.
Tulsa, OK • Animal Aid of Tulsa
Many heroes saved Meredith's life -- now they are all asking for your help! Meredith lay on the side of the road after being hit by a car. Eventually, a kind postal worker spotted the dog. He immediately stopped his truck and called his wife for help. She took Meredith to an animal hospital and paid for her care until Animal Aid of Tulsa heard about their heroic efforts and stepped in. "Poor Meredith," Yvonne H., with the nonprofit group, tells Waggle. "We don't know what happened to this sweetheart before she came to us, but it can't have been good." Now Meredith is hospitalized at Woodland West Animal Hospital. She has extensive breaks throughout her pelvis and a spinal injury. She needs several surgeries to mend her broken body back together. Animal Aid of Tulsa is looking at estimates of up to $9000 just for the operations. The group knows she's worth it and hopes you think so too! "Meredith is a fighter," Yvonne says. "She has exhibited nothing but kindness and sweetness. She's captured our hearts."

Mabel
Mabel is a six-month-old Pit Bull mix in Oklahoma City, OK, who needs $2,000 for hip surgery.
Oklahoma City, OK
When Shannon M. saw an alert on her Nextdoor app about a sad dog dumped in an apartment complex that needed help, she raced to the pup's rescue. "I found her at that complex," Shannon tells Waggle. "She was skin and bones. I took her to the veterinarian and found that she had a dislocated femur and a fractured hip. She also has hairless patches, which our veterinarian believes are from being either hit by a car or thrown out of a car." Shannon named her Mabel, brought her home, and made her a family member. But Mabel needs surgery to fix her leg and hip for a bright, pain-free future. "This poor angel deserves a good life," Shannon says. "Mabel is only six months old, so she's brought some energy to the household. We can't wait to take her on long walks, kayaking, and hiking once her surgery is completed and she's fully recovered. We are a dog family. It is just my husband and I and our three rescued dogs. They are our children. We would do anything for them." Shannon was the good Samaritan Mabel needed. Now the duo needs your help! Shannon is trying to raise the money for Mabel's surgery. "While we take responsibility caring for our animals, Mabel's rescue was not foreseen," Shannon says. "I just happened to see her and could not let her starve to death at that apartment complex. We did not plan to rescue another animal, but she needed to be rescued!"

Sophie
Sophie is an eight-year-old Bouvier Des Flandres in San Leandro, who needs $1,999 for tumor removal.
San Leandro
Maeg B. is frantically doing everything she can to help her service dog, Sophie! "Sophie has a mass that appeared just over two weeks ago, and it has increased in size rapidly," Maeg tells Waggle. "Her health has declined with the loss of appetite and fatigue." Maeg is in the United States to pursue a doctor of animal chiropractic degree, and due to restrictions on her visa, she can't work. "I am trying to fundraise everything I can," she tells Waggle. "I have friends willing to make art. I've done tees and stickers." Maeg launched this Waggle campaign hoping you'll help Sophie too! Because she is a dog that Maeg just can't live without. "Sophie is a special girl," Maeg says. "She has a natural desire to serve and comfort, and she moved into the role of a service dog with little effort. She knows when I need her help with tasks but also has an innate ability to know when others need her." Please help Sophie get her surgery!

Claire
Claire is a four-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix in Rockwall, TX, who needs $1,000 for urgent surgery.
Rockwall, TX • Rockwall Adoption Center
Someone may have dumped Claire on the side of the road. Then she went into labor, right along the highway! Soon after, things got even worse. Claire suffered severe complications during her delivery. Her life was on the line. But it appeared no one cared about Claire, and no one was coming to her rescue -- until a good Samaritan spotted her. That person called animal control. An officer rushed out and raced Claire to the Rockwall Adoption Center. X-rays and an ultrasound revealed three puppies were stuck. The shelter veterinarian performed emergency surgery, but sadly the puppies passed away. If Claire didn't have the operation, she would have died. Now Claire is doing well and is up for adoption. But the animal shelter needs your help raising the money to pay for Claire's medical bills. "Claire is just one of many animals in need that have come into our care recently, and they deserve nothing less than the best," Molly B., from the shelter, tells Waggle. "Claire is a very sweet and loving girl despite how she came to us. She will hopefully be able to find her furever home soon. After all she has been through, she deserves a loving family that can see how special she is." Please give to help Claire and the shelter!

Hugo
Hugo is a four-year-old French Bulldog in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for urgent life-saving surgery.
Huntington, WV • Western West Virginia Animal Rescue Alliance
Hugo went from being a spunky, energetic Frenchie to writhing in pain and partially paralyzed. Hugo's human mom adopted him from the Western West Virginia Animal Rescue Alliance (WWVARA) -- where she is a staff member and spends each day helping animals in need. She raced him to the shelter's veterinarian for medical care. X-rays showed Hugo had injured and ruptured several discs in his back. Hugo was immediately transferred to a neurologist at Med Vet -- who determined immediate surgery is the only hope Hugo has to walk again. But now, Hugo's mom, an incredible animal rescuer, is the one who needs help. She can't afford Hugo's life-changing surgery and faces the difficult decision of economic euthanasia and letting Hugo go. "She dedicates her life to animals and rescued this little guy herself. We could not let that happen," says Courtney C. from WWVARA. WWVARA is helping Hugo and his human mom, but they need YOUR generosity to help pay for his surgery. Please help Hugo!

Sammy
Sammy is an eight-year-old Mixed in Old Town, ME, who needs $2,000 for urgent surgery.
Old Town, ME
Sammy can't walk, and it's agonizing not only for Sammy but also for his human mom, Christine D. "Sammy has torn his ACL and requires surgery," Christine tells Waggle. "He can't put any pressure on his rear left leg. It is breaking our heart to see him limping and unable to play with the other dogs." But things are tough financially for Christine right now. She's also suffering from medical conditions. The bills for her treatments and travel to her specialty hospital, four hours away, ate up her savings and maxed out her credit cards. The medical team at Veazie Veterinary Clinic is ready to do Sammy's surgery, but Christine needs to raise the money to pay for it. She adopted Sammy years ago, and he is her pride and joy. Can you pay it forward and help this family in need?

Onyx
Onyx is a three-year-old Chihuahua mix in El Paso, TX, who needs $2,000 for urgent orthopedic surgery.
El Paso, TX • Law N Paws
Onyx is the newest member of Law N Paws rescue to come in as a result of an animal cruelty case. Poor Onyx suffered from a paw fracture, and his owners at the time refused to provide him with medical treatment. Luckily Onyx was rescued and is now safe and getting the love and attention he needs to heal! Onyx is a brave little dog. Despite what he has been through, he has shown strength and resilience. Even though he was let down by humans in the past he still shows trust, and seems to be very happy that he is now with people who love him. He is handling all his vet visits like a champ and is staying just as hopeful as we are that he will recover soon. Onyx is so special because of what he overcame. He survived against the odds and despite the grievous injury to his leg, and still holds so much happiness. Onyx has the spirit to go on to be an incredible companion to some lucky person, and deserves a fighting chance to recover and finally experience a life of security and love with a forever family. Onyx has an injury to his paw which requires special orthopedic treatment due to its severity. Onyx's orthopedic doctor has advised that he will need 2 bridging plates inserted as there is not enough bone to repair the injury. In addition to this, he had casts and X-rays. He now has an estimated 4 more weeks of healing. His medical expenses will be in excess of $3,600 when all is said and done. Onyx is only one of the pups under the care of Law N Paws. We often work with the authorities to provide sanctuary for pets like Onyx. In order to continue this important work we rely on the generosity of people like you.

W S Rinkles
W S Rinkles is a 12-year-old Pug in Astoria, NY, who needs $1,190 for testing for Cushing's Disease and Biopsy.
Astoria, NY
The first half of W S Rinkles' life is a mystery, but the cigarette scars on his body are a clue to his past. When Courtney L. first heard about this Pug, who was likely abused, she knew he was the one for her! Courtney immediately adopted him from a rescue when he was six years old. "Rinkles came into my apartment and pooped on my floor," Courtney tells Waggle. "He is a special needs dog with pigmentation in his eyes, obesity, and arthritis. We got this under control with exercise and routine vet visits." But recently, Rinkles started having more health problems. Fluid filled his lungs, he had thyroid problems, and now he needs testing for Cushing's disease and cancer at Astoria Veterinary Group. His health issues are breaking Courtney's heart, and she's struggling to pay for all his medical care. "There is nothing more important to me than Rinkles," Courtney says. "He's a registered emotional support dog." Courtney recently lost her job but just got her third master's degree and is job hunting. She is hoping kind animal lovers in the Waggle community will give to help Rinkles during this terrible time.

Ashley adopted Bailey a few months ago, and she just ruptured her cranial cruciate ligament in her knee. Now she needs orthopedic surgery at Winterville Animal Clinic to fix it. Ed
Ed is a six-month-old Pit Bull mix in Los Angeles, CA, who needs $2,000 for spinal surgery.
Los Angeles, CA • Love Leo Rescue
Puppy Ed is a true underdog who needs a chance. Love Leo Rescue first saved Ed when he was just a few weeks old and was abandoned in a park. "He was covered in ringworm and needed weeks of treatment," Sasha A., with the rescue, tells Waggle. Then Ed's foster mom noticed something was not quite right with his back legs. An MRI revealed Ed has a cyst on his spine that is compressing his discs and causing difficulty walking. If the cyst is not removed, Ed could lose his mobility permanently. "It was clear we only had one choice for him: to get him a complicated and big surgery to remove the offending cyst," Sasha says. "Love Leo Rescue is a non-profit 501c3 that takes in many medical dogs in need, just like Ed. Donations toward his treatment and care would help tremendously so we can continue to save more lives, just like him." Please help Ed get his operation and a fantastic future. "Despite his mobility issues, Ed loves to play and be as active as he can," Sasha says. "Ed is perfect with other dogs, cats, and kids. He has the sweetest temperament and has shown nothing but happiness and gratitude. Ed is a sweet and silly boy who falls in love with everyone he meets."

Boogie
Boogie is a two-year-old Labrador mix in Columbus, OH, who needs $2,000 for leg surgery.
Columbus, OH • Stop the Suffering
Boogie is so happy and full of love he doesn't know his legs look a bit different than other Labradors. Stop the Suffering rescue calls him an amazing and resilient boy. "He was abandoned by his owner. Most likely because his front legs have a deformity," Lynne A., with the rescue, tells Waggle. The rescue brought Boogie to Met Vet Columbus. The orthopedic team found Boogie has angular limb deformity, where his ulna and radius didn't grow at the same rate they were supposed to. Now the nonprofit group wants to get Boogie's legs fixed, and they need a lot of financial help! "Angular limb deformity is treatable with surgery," Lynne says. "Without it, Boogie will have constant pain and weakening in his limbs. It is a difficult and complex surgery; however, according to the specialists, Boogie is healthy and can tolerate this." Not having the surgery is heartbreaking to the rescue, who says Boogie is full of love and has a zest for life in that way only Labradors do! "You wouldn't know that he has a disability because he loves to play," Lynne adds. "His tail never stops wagging, and he offers up non-stop kisses and belly rubs. He is a wonderful boy and will make a family very happy. Boogie is one of many who deserves to live out his best life."

Blue
Blue is a four-year-old Husky in Napa, CA, who needs $640 for heat stroke emergency care.
Napa, CA
It all started as a nice walk in the park and ended with Blue suffering from heat stroke. Now he's hospitalized at VCA Pet Care East Veterinary Hospital, and his human dad, Roger H., can't keep paying for Blue's care. "Since I am a 100% disabled veteran, I am on a fixed income," Roger tells Waggle. "I was able to pay $4500 out of pocket for the first few days, but because of my living situation, I cannot come up with the remaining balance. This was my savings that I have saved over the past few years." Blue has been by Roger's side for years and helps with his PTSD. "Blue loves water but hates the shower," Roger says. "I was having an anxiety attack in the shower one day. He could hear me sobbing. He walked into the shower and sat in there with me. He is my light. He is truly special." Now Blue needs a blood transfusion and additional care. He's weak and lethargic, but with further treatment, Roger is hopeful Blue will pull through. The pair needs your help. "What makes me smile is knowing that he is there for me and is willing to help me through any of my PTSD attacks," Roger says. "He is truly an amazing friend, and I can't imagine life without him."

Bradley
Bradley is an eleven month-old Hound mix in Ossining, NY, who needs $2,000 for urgent surgery.
Ossining, NY • A Good Dog Rescue
Bradley was abandoned in rural Alabama when he was just a few months old. "He was forced to fend for himself in a cruel world," Lisa S., with A Good Dog Rescue, tells Waggle. "When he was finally rescued off the streets, he was dumped in a high-kill shelter. He was at risk of being euthanized due to lack of space, but we scooped him up just in time and transported him to New York." Soon after he arrived, his fosters noticed he was limping. The rescue brought him to Family Veterinary Care, and X-rays revealed his gut-wrenching backstory. "He had multiple BB bullets lodged inside his leg and was possibly hit by a car, causing extensive damage to his hip that requires femoral head ostectomy (FHO) hip surgery," Lisa says. Now the rescue is asking for your help raising the money for Bradley's operation. They say though they can't erase his hideous past, he's the sweetest boy who deserves the most beautiful future. "Bradley never wastes a moment sharing his appreciation with everyone he meets," Lisa says. "He gets along with every dog and human, always excited to meet new friends, including kitties! He has contagiously positive energy and makes everyone fall in love with him. He loves to play, cuddle with his humans, and would fit right into a loving family."

Buddy
Buddy is a seven-year-old Pit Bull in Ossining, NY, who needs $1,046 for tumor removal and dental surgery.
Ossining, NY • A Good Dog Rescue
Until A Good Dog Rescue saved Buddy, he kept drawing the shortest straw in life! He couldn't catch a break. Animal control officers picked him up running down a major road three months ago. "He had no collar, chip, or tags. He was scared, alone, and confused, desperately searching for his family," Lisa S., from the rescue, tells Waggle. Sadly, Buddy spent the last few months in the shelter waiting for someone to bring him home. "No owner, adopter, or rescue would take him, so we did," Lisa says. Soon after Buddy arrived in his foster home, his new family observed he was friendly, loving, and needed medical help. "He had swelling between his paws and rotten teeth," Lisa says. "We brought him into Family Vet Care, where they informed us he will need surgery to remove cysts on his paws and an extensive dental cleaning. The bill is steep, $1046, but Buddy needs to be able to live his life free of pain finally." What amazed the rescue is that after all Buddy has been through, he never stops smiling. "If you look closely, you will see a ton of tiny scars on Buddy's face," Lisa adds. "Still, he never complains, does what he's told, lives in the moment, and doesn't ask for a single thing other than love. He longs for a home, for someone to choose him, and for someone that acknowledges his scars yet still falls in love with his character." Please help Buddy get the veterinary care he needs and the new life he deserves!

Missy
Missy is a two-year-old Schnauzer in Burlington, NJ, who needs $2,000 for treatment of anaphylactic shock.
Burlington, NJ
In seconds Missy went from being an active, beloved dog to fighting for her life. "Missy got stung by a bee on our way home from my daughter's birthday dinner," Holly R., Missy's human mom, tells Waggle. "She went into anaphylactic shock." Missy is now hospitalized at the Mount Laurel Animal Hospital and requires blood transfusions every three days to help her survive. Her human dad is in the military, and they're cash strapped because they're all supposed to move again in two weeks. "We are moving our last military move after 25 years of traveling around the world," Holly says. "Financially, we are selling and buying a home in the next ten days and moving a family of six to a new life. Having Missy come home and be healthy means the world to us. We can't move without her." Missy's family says she is the light of their house. "We rescued Missy about two years ago after her owner passed and her sister was adopted," Holly says. "We saw her and fell in love. She is my daughter's companion and helps with her anxiety. When she's not lying with my daughter, she's asking for belly rubs and treats. She also keeps my anxiety at bay and is our little guard when dad is gone with the military." Please help this military family pay for Missy's care!

Sascha
Sascha is a five-month-old German Shepherd pup in Fortuna, CA, who needs $1,000 for urgent care.
Fortuna, CA
Esthefany S. and her children are distraught. Their puppy, Sascha, is in dire need of medical care that her family can't afford. "I am a single mom to two boys and this girly," Esthefany tells Waggle. "She had an incident today where she hurt her hind leg. I am on a fixed income, and all my credit cards are maxed out due to Covid. It is breaking my heart! I absolutely love her." If the family can raise the money, the plan is to have Sascha treated at the Sunny Brae Animal Clinic. "I am a single mother who barely got a new job and isn't eligible for a pay increase until mid-August," Esthefany says. "I live in California, and the gas prices are $6.25 a gallon. I commute to work 25 miles, one-way daily." During the short time the family has had Sascha, she has lit up their lives and formed a remarkable relationship with one of Esthefany's sons. "She adores my little one and has created a bond with him that actually helps his ADHD," Esthefany says. "He also has episodes of anxiety, and she helps him tremendously by bringing him back from his episodes. So with Sascha's incident, my (own) anxiety level is going through the roof. I only want what's best for her, and I don't want her to be in any pain." Please help Sascha get back on all four paws again!

BELLA
Bella is a four-year-old German Shepherd in Wooster, OH, who needs $2,000 for urgent leg surgery.
Wooster, OH
Pamela S. is one of hundreds of thousands of U.S. veterans with PTSD. But when Bella is by her side, her anxiety is at ease. "She is my service dog," Pamela tells Waggle. "I take her everywhere. I can't be without her. She calms me down when I get triggered. She loves on me and is always sensitive to my needs." Recently Pamela noticed Bella wasn't herself. "One day, she refused to get on my bed or couch to lay with me," Pamela says. "I knew something was wrong. I took her to the vet. They said she ruptured her cruciate ligament, and if she doesn't have surgery, she will eventually be unable to walk. I am heartbroken. I saved up $1000, and her surgery is $4000." All Pamela wants is for Bella to be pain-free and back by her side. Pamela is frantically trying to raise the money for Bella to have her operation at the Cleveland Road Animal Hospital. "I sold stuff last week so that I could pay for X-rays," Pamela says. "I am on a fixed income as a disabled veteran. I recently spent my savings on health issues and relocation. I am a divorced woman struggling with all the violence in the world. It would mean the world to me to get Bella better. I can't live without her." Pamela says in addition to Bella being her service dog, she also has quite the personality. "She says she loves me and howls to American Idol," Pamela adds. "She knows when I am sad. She never leaves my side. Bella is my guardian angel. She is a gift from above."

Valentina
Valentina is a nine-month-old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix in San Antonio, TX, who needs $2,000 for urgent leg surgery.
San Antonio, TX
Patricia C. first spotted Valentina in a Texas animal shelter that euthanizes pets for space. "In November 2021, her litter was abandoned. She walked up to me with a pep in her step, wagging her tail. She was a tiny, skinny, sweet, bright girl, and I was in love. Since then, she has been my best furry friend and my support during tough times," Patricia tells Waggle. But now Patricia is heartbroken; Valentina fractured her leg playing in a dog park and needed urgent surgery. Then Patricia got more devastating news: Valentina's bone did not fuse back together. Now she needs a second surgery! This time she is seeing a specialist at BluePearl Pet Hospital. "They gave me so much hope that she would be OK with another surgery. They treated her with so much kindness and said that with the proper care, she would recover soon," Patricia says. Patricia is trying to raise the money for Valentina's second operation. "This is an unexpected major expense," Patricia says. "A lot of my financial cushion went toward her first surgery. It would mean the world to me to have my sweet girl back on four legs, running, hiking, and playing again."

Sammy
Sammy is a two-year-old Labrador mix in Austin, TX, who needs $1,000 for emergency care for broken leg.
Lewisville, IN • Lucky Lab Rescue & Adoption
"Ouch!" That's what you'll say when you see the X-ray of Sammy's broken leg. Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption saved Sammy in the nick of time! "Sammy was in a kill shelter housed in a kennel with another dog, likely her sister. Her sister got saved, but Sammy got left behind, probably because she had a broken leg. The facility got full, and the staff walked the poor hobbling dog back to the euthanasia room. When Lucky Lab heard, they contacted the shelter immediately, got Sammy a stay of execution, and then sprung her," the rescue tells Waggle. The rescue brought her to Sunset Canyon Veterinary Clinic, where they learned one of the bones in Sammy's leg completely snapped in two. An orthopedic surgeon reviewed her case and is hopeful she can avoid surgery -- but her leg will need to be in a splint for about two months, which needs to be changed weekly. Then she will need a couple of sets of follow-up X-rays to see if the bone is mending itself back together properly. Despite is all, Sammy is the sweetest girl! She loves her humans and their family. She is now in a foster home, and she is so happy. Please help Sammy catch a good break this time! "Lucky Lab does not turn away dogs that need medical care," the rescue says. "We love Waggle and their kind-hearted staff and community who help us come to the rescue when these dogs really need it!"

Leia
Leia is a six-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi in Iselin, NJ, who needs $2,000 for radiation treatment.
Iselin, NJ
Not sure about you -- but our hearts here at Waggle melted when we saw Leia! "Leia is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi," says Sejal P., Leia's human mom. "She was given to us by our neighbor when she was a baby. Leia loves people more than other dogs, but she always makes an exception for her brother. They are named Luke and Leia, after the sibling duo in Star Wars." Leia was diagnosed with stage three soft tissue sarcoma and got surgery to remove the mass. Her oncologist at PetCure Oncology found there was no measurable growth at the site of her sarcoma but also discovered she has a tumor in her lung. The lung tumor is in a difficult place to sample or remove. So the new action plan is radiation treatment to target both areas, but the therapy is expensive. "The cost of cancer treatment for Leia is much more than our insurance will cover, and we just want to give Leia the best life possible for as long as we can," Sejal says. "We were hesitant putting her through treatment, but if her lung tumor grows, her breathing will be impacted." Sejal is hopeful the radiation will help keep the tumors at bay, and Leia can continue being the adorable, spunky dog they love. "Leia has so much personality," Sejal says. "She is so intuitive, and she loves her people so deeply. She guards the shoes in our house to make sure no one leaves. Having her has created happiness and love like no other. It makes us smile and feel so blessed." Help Leia kick cancer!

Aurora
Aurora is a nine-year-old Chihuahua in Rochester, PA, who needs $800 for emergency care.
Rochester, PA
Aurora is in dire need of help. The emotional support dog got struck by a truck! "Our poor baby got hit by a truck that came down onto our private road," Angela C., Aurora's human mom, tells Waggle. "The truck driver didn't even stop after he hit her! My son witnessed the whole thing, and my daughter came running out of the house because she heard Aurora crying in pain; they both started crying." Aurora is loved dearly by her entire family, but she's very special to Angela's daughter. "We got Aurora as a support dog to help my daughter. She has Turner syndrome, Dandy-Walker syndrome, celiac disease, a heart condition, diabetes, autism, selective mutism, and ADHD. Since the day Aurora got hit, my kids have had a hard time dealing with her not being home," Angela says. Aurora is being cared for at the Rainbow Veterinary Hospital. Angela is begging for financial assistance to fund Aurora's urgent care. "I am a single mom of five kids, one of which has a lot of medical needs herself, so I am struggling to come up with the money to pay Aurora's vet bills," Angela says. "She is part of our lives every day. there isn't much that we do that doesn't involve her." Please help get Aurora back to her family and healthy again!

James rushed him to Pets Referral Center, where the medical team found he has a perineal hernia that needs to be repaired immediately. "This unexpected surgery will cost $8290," James tells Waggle. "I have been trying to get insurance for him, but it's too late. I know I made a huge mistake by not getting insurance." James is trying to raise the money so Jayden can get the life-changing operation. "My young children love our dog," James says. "He has been like a little boy to us. I sleep with him every night with the kids. He's been a very good dog to us."

Ginger
Ginger is a Ten-Month-Old Shepherd mix in Bend, OR, who needs $735 for Mange Treatment.
Bend, OR • People Saving Animals
Ginger is just a puppy and has only known suffering and pain during her short life. She was rescued from the streets of a small Guatemalan town when she was three months old and has since fought terrible mange and skin infections -- some were so horrendous she needed to be hospitalized. The nonprofit People Saving Animals, which helps dogs in Central America, is trying to raise money to get Ginger the medical care she needs so she can get on the road to recovery and adoption. But the group can only do that with your help. She's just a pup and has a bright future once she is healthy. "Ginger is a happy and playful dog," Walter G., with the rescue, tells Waggle. "She likes to run and jump; she is an active dog. She is a friendly dog." Please give to Ginger's campaign so she can blossom into the beautiful girl she should be!

Mya
Mya is a seven-year-old Husky in Springville , TN, who needs $2,000 for emergency care.
Springville, TN
The suffering and heartbreak Mya and her family are going through is incomprehensible. They desperately need your help. On Mother's Day, Mya slipped out of her harness, got loose, and an unidentified person shot her multiple times. "Because of this, her right front leg has had to be amputated. She was also shot through her neck, and it ruptured her trachea, so she is currently breathing through that bullet hole," Amanda G., Mya's human mom, tells Waggle. Mya is being treated at the Animal Hospital of Clarksville, where her family visits her each day. They're trying to raise money immediately to pay for the emergency care Mya needs. "We lost our home to fire not long ago and lost everything," Amanda says. "We now live in an old FEMA camper. We need help because our only income is disability." Amanda says that they've had Mya since she was only six weeks old, and she developed an incredible skill. "Mya became my fiance's service dog when she began alerting to his heart attacks. She has faithfully been by his side all her life. Mya loves my children. I have four, three are autistic, and she loves snuggling each of them every night." Even more gut-wrenching is that Mya can tell when her family is sad like they are now. "Mya doesn't like it when we are upset, and she will let us know by trying to calm us down," Amanda adds. "She will talk to us and hop up on our legs while talking to us to get us to focus on her and calm down. She also melts our hearts every time she howls, 'I love you.'" Please help Mya get back to her family and through this terrible ordeal.

Daisy is a two-month-old Labrador mix in Ringwood, NJ, who needs $1,000 for emergency care.
Ringwood, NJ
Daisy can't catch a break, and this sweet puppy needs your help. First, she ended up at an animal shelter. Then, she got adopted by Matthew L. and his wife. Then two days after they brought her home, she was attacked by a neighbor's dog. She now needs emergency care at the Oradell Animal Hospital. "She needs to have major surgery and stitches," Matthew tells Waggle. "We would greatly appreciate any help for her veterinarian bills as we couldn't get pet insurance within a day of having her. We got married and bought a home. We need a new roof and windows. We did not foresee a $1000 medical bill for a brand new puppy." Even more distressing is how this attack will impact Daisy, who has such a sunny disposition. "She is only 11 weeks old and the sweetest, most well-behaved girl around," Matthew says. "She has transformed our home. She is a happy, playful, and fantastic pup." Please help Daisy!

Drax
Drax is a two-year-old Micro Bully dog in Albany, NY, who needs $2,000 for emergency surgery.
Albany, NY
If you've ever been lucky enough to have a dog in your life -- you've probably also been unlucky enough to know sometimes they eat the weirdest things! And sometimes those strange things cause big trouble! That's exactly what happened to Samatha M. and her beloved, Drax. "Easter weekend of 2022 began with him throwing up for two days on and off," Samantha tells Waggle. She brought him to the veterinarian, and soon she got distressing news. "They informed me that his stomach was detached and something was blocking his small intestines," Samantha says. Drax had severe dehydration and needed emergency surgery. Samantha raced him to Pieper Veterinary hospital. It turns out Drax ate a tiny piece of rubber, and it plugged up his entire digestive system. If he didn't have it removed, he would have died. "After the procedure, Drax's medical bills totaled $7,467.51," Samantha says. "This was very difficult for me financially because I was not prepared to have these funds on hand." Samantha is frantically trying to raise the money to pay for Drax's care. She hopes other generous pet lovers (who may have even faced the same situation) will give to her campaign. There was no way she could not have saved Drax's life. "Drax has made the biggest impact in my life and has changed it for the better," Samantha says. "He is my entire heart and the piece that fits all my missing pieces in life. He is the dog my heart never knew it needed so desperately."

Moo Moo
Moo Moo is an eight-year-old Shih Tzu in Louisville, KY, who needs $1,140 for urgent care.
Louisville, KY
Joanne S. has battled a lot of obstacles: homelessness, severe health problems that left her disabled, and financial difficulties. But she got through it all with her emotional support dog, Moo Moo, by her side. "He is my baby and best friend," Joanne tells Waggle. "We need each other. He loves to sleep in the crook of my legs. He is a major support for me. We have a very strong bond." Moo Moo has never had a health problem until recently. He started having trouble urinating. Joanne rushed him to Blue Cross Animal Hospital, where the veterinarian discovered Moo Moo has bladder stones and needs immediate surgery to remove them. The news broke Joanne's heart, and now she's worried sick; she doesn't have the money to pay for the operation Moo Moo needs. The pair needs help! "I'm on disability, and I have very limited income," Joanne says."I don't have any more money. I don't know what I would do without Moo Moo. I need my pupper because he helps give me a reason to go on." Please help them weather another crisis together!

Bella
Bella is a one-year-old Golden Retriever in Toronto, ON, who needs $1,500 for urgent surgery.
Toronto
Bella is just one-year-old, and the beautiful Golden Retriever's life is on the line. Her human mom is facing a gut-wrenching situation; she can no longer pay for Bella's medical care. "Bella was attacked by a dog and hit by a car," Alita F. tells Waggle. "She has had two surgeries to try and save her leg. And on top of it, one of the screws from her first surgery was taken for culture and came back with the news that her leg is infected. She needed to have injections every day for seven days with an intense antibiotic to try to get rid of the infection." After all the animal hospital bills, Alita has hit a breaking point. "I cannot financially pay for any more surgery or even an amputation because I have given every penny of credit and lines of credit to possibly save her leg," she says. Alita is pleading for anyone who reads Bella's campaign to give to help her precious dog, who didn't deserve to be a victim of this catastrophe. Bella used to love to go to the dog park and play with dogs. She also loved the water and going to the beach. She would join Alita at their local community garden as she planted herbs and vegetables. Bella would greet every person when they harvested the produce and gave it to the community. "It's just she and I. She is the sweetest and kindest dog. She loves to be a pet and has to say 'Hi,' to every dog. She is extremely friendly. She always has a smile on her face, and it can truly lift anyone's spirits even when she is so sick and in so much pain. It makes me sad to write this." Alita says.

Bodhi
Bodhi is an eight-year-old Cocker Spaniel mix in San Diego, CA, who needs $2,000 cancer surgery.
San Diego, CA
Bodhi had a brush with death four years ago -- and now he's fighting for his life again. The beautiful and sweet Cocker Spaniel mix was initially saved by a rescue group after he survived a coyote attack that killed his mate and pups. That was the day Michelle S. met Bodhi and knew she would adopt him. "I will never forget the day I met Bodhi on March 18, 2018," Michelle tells Waggle. "It was love at first sight! I was able to adopt Bodhi on April 13, 2018. That was the best day ever!" Bodhi blossomed in Michelle's care. "He has made many new happy memories," she says. "He has learned that he is loved and finally safe in his forever home. He gets along well with other dogs and cats. He shares his toys with other dogs. He even received his American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen certification." But Michelle just got some devastating news: Bodhi has small cell lymphoma in his liver nodule. He needs urgent surgery at VCA Animal Specialty Group to remove the growth. Time is of the essence, so the lymphoma does not spread. The estimate for his surgery is $10,912.25. Michelle is racing against time to come up with the money and needs your assistance. "He is my best friend, my soul mate, and he brings me so much happiness, I can't even imagine a life without him," she says. "We still have so much to do together. The love we have for each other is endless. Please help me help him get everything he needs to live the life he deserves. We would both be forever grateful and appreciative. He is my world, and I don't want to say goodbye yet."

Maddie
Maddie is a three-year-old Retriever mix in Blakeslee, PA, who needs $2,000 for emergency care.
Blakeslee, PA
Maddie went from being a fun-loving, playful Labrador mix to being paralyzed, on oxygen, a feeding tube, and battling for her life in an ICU emergency room because she contracted tetanus. Tetanus bacteria live in soil and produce a toxin that attacks the nervous system. It's very rare for dogs to get it, but if they do, they can develop paralysis of the respiratory muscles and die. It's so dangerous people get vaccinated against tetanus, but there’s no vaccination for dogs. Maddie's family is overwhelmed with grief and struggling to continue paying for her round-the-clock care. "Maddie has been getting care in the Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital since May 3," Barbara S., Maddie's human mom, tells Waggle. "She also has developed pneumonia. If she survives tetanus, she can go back to being a healthy, happy three-year-old dog." Barbara and her family created this campaign, hoping you will help them see Maddie through this totally unexpected crisis. "I am 62 and had to take early Social Security due to rheumatoid arthritis," Barbara says. "My husband is a truck driver. This year, we have been helping my daughter financially and physically move to another more appropriate home that is safe for her and my two grandchildren. What little savings we had went to that." Maddie, who Barbara adopted when she was just 13 weeks old, means so much to their family. "Maddie is the sweetest dog ever," Barbara says. "She has a special love for my nine-year-old granddaughter, Hannah. Maddie gets so excited when my husband comes home from work. He gets down on his knees to greet her, and she licks his bald head and puts her paws on his shoulders. We love Maddie so much and can't bear to lose her."

Dozer
Dozer is a three-year-old French Bulldog in Springfield, VA, who needs $900 for cancerous tumor removal.
Springfield, VA
Dozer helped save Christine H., and now she needs your help saving him. "Dozer is such a sweet and very affectionate companion," Christine tells Waggle. "When I got him two years ago, I suffered from severe depression and awful pain. Dozer has had a tremendous effect on that. He cuddles with me all the time. He knows when I'm feeling poorly and makes me laugh or comforts me with kisses." But now it's Christine's turn to help Dozer. He has a cancerous tumor that needs to be removed as soon as possible at the Pender Veterinary Centre. Christine can't afford the surgery, and she's heartbroken. "This is an emergency," she says. "I just lost my part-time job, and my government benefits don't cover my bills. I need help. Dozer needs help. He doesn't deserve to suffer with all the love he gives me. If something negative happens to Dozer, I will never forgive myself." Christine hopes generous pet lovers will give to Dozer's campaign so he can one day be cancer-free and making her smile again. "Dozer is a funny dog," she says. "He's absolutely not a guard dog. When someone new comes to the door, he gets up on his hind legs and wobbles back and forth while jumping, trying to give kisses. He makes this snorting sound that makes you laugh. He's always on my lap. Every time I get up, he steals my spot and makes me laugh."

Barkley
Barkley is a nine-year-old Terrier mix in Hemet, CA, who needs $2,000 for cancerous tumor removal.
Hemet, CA
Sometimes, you can glance at a dog's kind eyes, and you immediately know how loving they are. The Waggle staff felt like that when they saw Barkley's pictures and video. And so did Barkley's family seven years ago when they met him at an adoption event. "We were looking at all of the dogs, but we weren’t planning on adding to our family," Brandon L. tells Waggle. "When I saw his human eyes, he looked right into my soul, and I knew we belonged together. It took some convincing with my partner, but as soon as we got him home, we both knew it was meant to be." But a week ago, Barkley's veterinarian at Hemet Animal Hospital found a lump on Barkley's anal sac while he was having surgery to remove an embedded foxtail on his paw. A biopsy on the growth came back as an anal gland sac adenocarcinoma. His medical team wants to do immediate surgery to remove the cancerous tumor and test Barkley's lymph nodes to ensure it hasn’t spread. It's a gut-wrenching situation for Barkley's family, who is having a hard time paying for his operation. "After the paw surgery and biopsy on his anal gland, we can not afford what we know is best for him," Brandon says. "This was a surprise, and we are not in a position to pay for this. It breaks my heart to know we are breaking the promise we made when we rescued him." It's critical the tumor be removed as soon as possible, and Brandon's family hopes you will help them save Barkley again. He's so important in their lives. "Barkley loves playing on the beach and snuggling on the couch," Brandon says. "He has two dog brothers that love to play together. He is the one that likes to follow us from room to room and never wanders too far at the dog park, always looking back and checking on us. He loves his little sweaters in the winter because he gets chilly easily. He is just a sweetheart. He is so eager to please and always waits his turn to happily greet us after a day at work."

Waffles
Waffles is a 2-year-old Pug Dog in Seaford , VA, who needs $405 for Exam, X-ray, oxygen, sedition, catheter, intensive care, Medications, induction….
Seaford, VA
Waffles lived a deplorable life of neglect in a drug den before she was saved. "She was recently rescued from some heroin addicts," Allen K., who helped save her, tells Waggle. "The apartment she was living in smelled strongly of ammonia and cigarettes. There was stuff all over the apartment, and it was disgusting. She probably has not seen the outside in months. She was having a lot of trouble breathing and had to be taken to the vet urgently." Waffles is being treated at Pine Meadow Veterinarian Hospital. She had to be sedated and have a tube put in her throat to help her breathe. Her oxygen level was only 70% when she arrived. She is getting some meds to help her, and she seems to be improving. Allen wasn't expecting to have to provide emergency care for Waffles, but she needed his help! "The veterinarian was very kind and generous to give us some time to pay, considering the circumstances," Allen says. "This all could not have happened at a worse time. My dad's heath has been declining, and he is starting dialysis. He has had five different surgeries since February. There is no extra money and no money in savings. Everything has been spent. Helping this dog has been very rewarding." Waffles is improving and showing a lot of potential to be a great dog. She has a family with two young boys and another dog waiting to love her and help her heal. Waffles can get the care she needs and a brand new life ahead of her with your generosity.

Daphne
Daphne is an 11-year-old Cocker Spaniel in Little Falls, NY, who needs $1,500 for an urgent surgical procedure.
Little Falls, NY
Daphne had a heartbreaking start to her life. She lived inside a cage in a puppy mill for seven years, never knowing love, a soft bed, or a human's touch. But Liz C. changed all that when she adopted Daphne. "Despite Daphne's long history of being caged, she is a sweet girl who loves to give kisses. She has learned to play and enjoy walks. Daphne also loves to eat and scour the apartment for things to steal; she will steal almost anything and bring it to her bunker, her safe space under the bed," Liz tells Waggle. Since Daphne never had proper veterinary care, she now suffers from a larynx issue which results in breathing difficulties and chronic urinary tract infections. She's being treated at the Cornell University Companion Animal Hospital. "Daphne's UTIs are caused by staph and enterococcus bacterial infections inside the bladder. Extended antibiotic treatment has not helped, and the infections continue. She needs to have a cystoscopy under general anesthesia, estimated to cost $2,500 to $3,000. Daphne also has problems breathing when exerted or walking. This prevents her from playing. She needs larynx surgery. That's estimated to cost $3,000-4,000," Liz says. Liz hopes you will see the same potential she does in Daphne and give to her campaign to get this poor girl the care she has not had for years. "I am on Social Security Disability, and I have health issues and expenses," Liz says. "I have raised money on my own in the past for Daphne's expenses, but this is more than I can handle. Daphne is my anchor to sanity. I suffer from clinical depression. Daphne makes me smile every single day. Her joy despite her horrible past, teaches me something every day. She never complains, and the vets are amazed because she must be in pain. Daphne is a survivor, and she deserves every chance to have a good life."

Luxy
Luxy is an 11-year-old Miniature Dapple Dachshund in Haughton, LA, who needs $1,500 for urgent care.
Haughton, LA
Luxy is a fighter, and she needs your help! During her life, she's battled and beaten Parvo, disc issues, infections, and now she needs a blood transfusion. Her human mom, Haley P., is scared to death -- not only because she's worried about Luxy, but because she can't afford to pay for all the medical care she needs. "I’ve been on Medicaid for the past few years, unemployed, and I have depression," Haley tells Waggle. "I'm unable to pay for much. My husband just got work, but we have to find a place to live, which leaves us without much to pay." Luxy keeps Haley going on her most challenging days, so this situation is devastating. "I have to save her," Haley says. "I can’t lose her. This girl is the light of my life. She is the reason I’m alive today. She has been with me through the darkest times. She’s my angel, and she needs help. Please help me. I appreciate even just the support. I really do! She’s an angel, and she had gotten me through some rough stuff. I could never give up on her!" Saving Luxy would mean the world to both Luxy and Haley. ' "She is absolutely attached to me," Haley says. "I have a weenie dog glued to my hip at all times, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. She deserves life. She’s a special angel that could do no wrong. She loves her mommy and daddy. And we adore her. She is the world to me. I can’t lose her. My mental health is so bad right now. She knows I need her, and I do."

Tribeca
Tribeca is a 10-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix in Minneapolis , MN, who needs $2,000 for urgent care.
Minneapolis, MN
Heidi S. tells Waggle when she went to the animal shelter to adopt a dog, Tribeca chose her! And ever since, the two have been inseparable. "Tribeca’s the epitome of all that’s good," Heidi says. "She’s my best friend, copilot, protector, comforter, and support animal. Her inner comedian shines." Sadly right now, Heidi and Tribeca desperately need assistance. Something is causing swelling in Tribeca's windpipe; she's panting and growing weaker. The medical team at Mission Animal Hospital is running many tests trying to figure out the cause. They believe that once the problem is found, Tribeca will have a good prognosis with proper treatment. But Heidi is in crisis, trying to pay for her care. "This emergency is a big expense," Heidi says. "Please help. I'm on SSI; there aren’t enough pennies to go around. I've cut back on buying groceries and paying bills to get her to a veterinarian and get medications and tests. Tribeca’s care greatly exceeds what I can pay on my own. Your help makes a difference to both of us."

Bella
Bella is a 12-year-old Labrador in Holmdel, NJ, who needs $1,990 for urgent surgery.
Holmdel, NJ
If Bella does not get the lifesaving surgery she needs, she will suffocate and die. The beautiful Labrador has laryngeal paralysis, also known as "lar par." It's a terrible disease where a dog's larynx no longer opens the way it should to allow air to flow into their lungs. It progressively gets worse. An owner usually has two options: euthanize the dog, or get the often very successful "tie-back" surgery. A surgeon ties back one side of the cartilage around a dog's larynx, so it no longer blocks the airway. Bella's surgeon at Garden State Veterinary Specialists recommends the critical operation. Amandine D., Bella's human mom, tells Waggle that surgery will change their lives. "She can no longer breathe easy at all," Amandine says. "The vet explained to me that the way Bella is breathing is very exhausting. For a human, it would be like breathing through a straw. She is going downhill and needs the tie-back surgery to help her. She refuses to walk. She can no longer play as she gets out of breath very easily. She has been depressed when she was always so happy." Amandine launched this campaign, hoping you will help Bella get the crucial operation she needs to save her life! "Bella has always been very active," Amandine says. "She loved long walks, retrieving her tennis balls, and swimming. I believe she saved me after my husband passed away six years ago. She truly is my best friend and was there for me always, giving me love and putting a smile on my face."

Walter
Walter is a four-year-old Pit Bull in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for emergency surgery.
Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates
Walter's story is tragic. He was hit by a car and abandoned at an animal hospital. After the staff realized what had happened, they called One By One Animal Advocates. "I got a call from the ER," Heather A., with the nonprofit group, tells Waggle. "One of the vet techs said someone brought Walter in after he was struck. Then the person said they had to go to their car to get their wallet, but instead, they left. Without anyone claiming ownership of the dog, the hospital said they would have to euthanize him." One by One was buried in medical bills from saving other animals. They weren't sure they could afford Walter's care. "I sat on the phone with the vet tech," Heather says. "I just put my head down on the table because this is a huge decision that carries a lot of weight. If I said we didn't have room and hung up the phone, they would have killed him. That's devastating. It makes me cry just to think about it. But there's a lot of responsibility like, 'How are we going to afford this?' In the end, I said, 'I think he deserves a chance. We will figure out how to make this work.'" The hospital staff raced Walter in for X-rays. He had a broken pelvis on both sides of his body. The ER stabilized Walter and gave him IV fluids and pain medication. Then volunteers rushed him to Proctorville Animal Hospital. The orthopedic surgeon performed a three-hour operation, installing two different plates to help mend his bones. Walter may need another surgery, but he's making such significant post-op progress that he may be able to avoid it. He's now using both his legs. Heather is thrilled Walter is doing so well. She knows she lept financially, and now she's hoping the net will appear! But the group saved another life and hopes with your generosity; they'll be able to pay Walter's medical bills. "This is a young dog who deserves more than to be abandoned at the ER, with no one willing to take him on," Heather says. "Waggle's help gives us the ability to say, 'Yes,' in a situation where we may otherwise be forced to say, 'No.' Thank you for your help!"

Hester
Hester is an eight-year-old Chihuahua mix in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for urgent tumor removal surgery.
Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates
Tiny Hester has a massive-sized tumor on the top of her head! No one knows how long the mass grew, but when One By One Animal Advocates saved Hester from the shelter, a volunteer said, "Um, wait a minute, we have a problem!" They rushed Hester to Proctorville Animal Hospital. An X-ray showed how gigantic the tumor was. It's like she has a brain on top of her brain. "We were shocked," Heather A., from One by One, tells Waggle. "The mass went down her neck and spine. If she did not have it removed, the veterinarian said it would continue to grow rapidly and become so large that her entire head would be distorted and affect her breathing and ability to eat." The surgery was complex. When the tumor was finally removed, it left such a large opening that Hester lost a lot of blood, and her blood pressure dropped. But she pulled through! The growth was sent off to pathology, and everyone is hoping for good news. Hester is recovering and doing very well. One By One is hoping you can find it in your heart and wallet to give to Hester's campaign. The giant tumor came with a hefty bill! The nonprofit group says Hester is worth every penny. "I'm thankful that people are willing to help a dog they have never met," Heather adds. "I have met her, and she is such a happy, loving, and joyous dog. Without people donating for Hester, she would not have had a chance."

Maverick
Maverick is a two-year-old Labrador in Dallas, TX, who needs $2,000 for urgent leg surgery.
Lewisville, IN • Lucky Lab Rescue & Adoption
Though Maverick is a dog, it's starting to seem like he may have nine lives! He's had a couple of brushes with death, and now he needs your help. First, an animal control officer in rural Texas witnessed Maverick coming into the shelter. This facility did not have many resources, and the officer knew if she didn't help Maverick, he might not make it out alive. She sent an email to Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption pleading for their assistance saving him. She wrote this heartfelt email to the nonprofit group: "I had a Lab surrendered to me, and there has been no interest in him. I am a kill shelter, so I was reaching out to see if you had space for him in your rescue. He is a VERY sweet dog. He gets along with my other dogs in the shelter very well, and I let him do his own thing most of the time." Lucky Lab was fortunate enough to have a foster that could take Maverick. And Maverick has been just as advertised. He's an incredible and sweet dog. He was heartworm positive and went through treatment like a champ. But just as Lucky Lab thought they could post Maverick for adoption, he started limping. The veterinarian thought he had an ACL tear, but X-rays revealed one of his hips was out of the socket, and he was also riddled with pellets! He had been shot at some point in his young life. You can see the shiny, metal BBs on the radiographs. Now Maverick needs surgery at Lake Forest Animal Hospital to repair his hip so he can walk without pain. The rescue has taken on many dogs with medical conditions and can't afford Maverick's surgery. They are racing to raise the $2000 he needs for this life-changing operation. Until Maverick has the surgery, his future is on hold! He can't be put up for adoption and find his forever family until he's all fixed up. Please help Lucky Lab raise the money to help Maverick, and let's give him a happy ending.

Taz
Taz is a seven-year-old Collie mix in Franklin Park, IL, who needs $2,000 for emergency gallbladder removal.
Franklin park, IL
Britney S. is worried sick. Her beloved, adopted dog, Taz, is fighting for his life in the hospital. His bill hit $13,000, and Britney is panicked trying to pay it. They need your help! "Taz has Addison's disease but was admitted to the ER on Friday due to being lethargic and sluggish," Britney tells Waggle. "They found out his gallbladder was bad, and he had a severe case of pancreatitis." The medical team at VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital removed Taz's gallbladder, but he remains hospitalized and in urgent care. Britney and her family would do anything for Taz, but they need a financial lifeline to help pay his astronomical bill. "This was all crazy and unexpected; the bill right now is well beyond $13,000," Britney says. "Any funds are beyond appreciated. We don't know what to do, considering the bill just keeps going up. Any help will be used towards our Taz. He's the light to our family and means the world to us." When Britney rescued Taz, he was in a litter of six puppies and he was one of the last ones left. His father got hit by a car and dropped off at a rescue. His mother was giving birth at the time. "When we saw Taz online, we knew we had to see him," Britney says. "He jumped right into my dad's lap and stayed there. After that, we took him home. Where he is truly spoiled." Their home and hearts are not the same without Taz. "Taz is special because not only did he choose our family, but he can change anyone's mood in a matter of seconds," Britney says. "Taz has such a big heart and doesn't have a single mean bone in his body. He will listen to you and do little tricks to make you smile. With him being gone, the house feels empty and dismal. He's been in the vet for five days, and everyone feels it." Please help bring Taz home to the family who loves him!

Pookie Bear
Pookie Bear is a nine-year-old Pomeranian mix in Fayetteville, AR, who needs $873 for urgent surgery.
Fayetteville, AR
Heather W. is worried sick. Her beloved dog, Pookie Bear, needs urgent oral surgery. But she and her husband, a disabled veteran, can't afford it. "I hope that the dental surgery that she needs will greatly improve the quality of her life," Heather tells Waggle. "I am also hoping it will prolong her life for years to come. She is almost ten years old. If the veterinarian (at Wedington Animal Hospital) hadn't alerted us to her serious dental needs, we would have known anything was going on. She still has the sweetest temperament." The couple has loved Pookie Bear since she was a very tiny puppy. "She is an absolute delight to our family," Heather says. "We are so lucky to have her in our lives. She loves snuggles as much as I do. She is very protective and very social. She's always happy to see us and is an excellent listener. We are hoping to raise money for the surgery."

Zane
Zane is a five-year-old Husky in Newport, TN, who needs $692 for heartworm treatment.
Newport, TN • Piney Mountain Foster Care, Inc.
Zane came to Piney Mountain Foster Care starving, sick, and skinny. "Zane was one of three dogs someone dumped on our rural mountain road," Doug B., from the organization, tells Waggle. "After a few days, they were really hungry and went after some rabbits that another resident kept in cages on an open front porch. That fellow got angry and started shooting at the dogs. After he went to work, I gathered the three vagrants into my fenced yard while a friend and I built a shelter for them to stay in." The three dogs turned out to be a pair of hound puppies and a five-year-old Husky, who became Zane. "They were clearly good friends, all playing together good-naturedly. Upon examining Zane, I found him to be emaciated. His plush fur hid his boniness, but he weighed in at a mere 48 pounds when a male Husky his size should be 65 to 70 pounds. He was letting the pups have all the food," Doug says. Doug took Zane to Cedarwood Veterinary Hospital, where he learned Zane had a horrible case of heartworm and needs treatment immediately. Doug says Zane is a gem. He hopes you can help their nonprofit raise the money for Zane's care. "I have fostered dozens of Huskies," Doug adds. "Zane is unusually calm and reserved for a Husky. Part of the reason for that is that he's sick. His infestation is advanced, and he needs treatment quickly. Fortunately, he likes to rest in a crate. That's rare in a Husky! But that will make successfully treating him much easier. This expense is more than we can handle."

Jake
Jake is an eight-month-old Corgi mix in Grand Rapids , MI, who needs $2,000 for critical leg surgery.
Grand Rapids, MI
Jake was an answer to prayers for Kendra S. "I have PTSD and spine and pelvis injuries that have devastated my life. I don't have family and have always loved dogs, so my doctor prescribed that I have an emotional support animal," Kendra tells Waggle. Soon after, she just happened to look on Craigslist and saw an adorable puppy in need. She arranged to meet him, and it was clearly meant to be. "He wrapped his arms around my neck, and my heart melted," Kendra says. Jake has made an enormous difference in Kendra's life. "He is a beautifully sweet puppy. He's energetic, loves attention, and loves to give it. He's been meeting lots of people and puppies and has been so happy," she says. But then something completely unexpected happened. "I've been looking forward to getting him in doggy day camp and more socialized, so he needed to be neutered. He had a right undescended testicle. He had swelling that went into his right thigh. He started limping the day after," she says. Somehow Jake fractured his hip, and he needs surgery to repair it. The cost of the operation is way out of line with Kendra's limited budget. "My only source of income is Social Security disability," Kendra says. "I've been trying so hard with the little income I have to give Jake a good life. He's so young and loves life. Now he is so sad because he can't be his active self and is in pain. I just can't afford the surgery, and I don't know what to do." Jake and Kendra rescued one another -- now they need your help to rescue them!

Buster
Buster is a one-year-old Saint Bernard who needs $2,000 for urgent surgery.
The second Buster's family saw a picture of him, they flew from New England to Alabama, picked him up, and drove 17 hours back to the East Coast. "He was a little teddy bear," Alex T., his human dad, tells Waggle. Buster and Alex's children have grown up together over the last year. "Buster has a bond with everyone. He loves tug of war, fetch the ball, and running around outside. He loves to follow the kids around and run," Alex says. So when Buster seemed ill recently, they rushed him to Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center. "When Buster would drink water, he would get sick right after," Alex says. The medical team found Buster was dehydrated, and his kidneys were failing. An ultrasound revealed something a blockage that needs to be surgically fixed. Alex is struggling to pay for the operation and hopes you might help their family. "This is one thing we never thought we would have to go through," Alex says. "It was unexpected, and financially we were not prepared for this. To see him feeling bad breaks our hearts. It would mean the world to us just to have him back to himself."

Leo
Leo is a one-year-old Labrador in Eau Claire , WI, who needs $1,500 for urgent surgery.
Eau Claire, WI
Migon C. has a heart of gold. She and her "foster fail," Leo the Labrador, urgently need your help. When Leo was just 12 weeks old, he was diagnosed with megaesophagus. It's a cruel and unfair condition where a dog's esophagus doesn't contract and push food down to their stomach. Leo and other dogs with megaesophagus often sit upright to eat, allowing gravity to pull food down to their stomachs. If they don't eat upright, they can regurgitate their food and get aspiration pneumonia which can be fatal. In Leo's case, he's not getting enough nutrition. He only weighs 31 pounds. His specialist at the Veterinary Medical Center North University of Minnesota says it's time to implant a feeding tube in Leo so he can get his nutrients and gain weight. Migon tells Waggle that her family adopted Leo knowing about his medical condition, because they adore him. "Leo loves everyone," Migon says. "He will greet you at the door with his tail going in circles until he gets his hugs and cuddles. Leo loves to run outside and do zoomies. Leo sleeps in any of the kids' beds, loves to snore, and goes on car rides. Our family has grown to love Leo. He has been a joy to us and is a part of our family now and forever." Migon has spent thousands of dollars on Leo's care and drives him to his specialist two hours from her home. Right now, she needs help to get Leo the lifesaving care he needs. "A feeding tube is the only lifeline for Leo to survive, or his body will start shutting down," she says. "Leo should have the long, full life he deserves. We have taken on Leo as our family pet and have racked up enormous vet bills. We cannot endure this expense of the surgical tube placement and are heartbroken for Leo's outlook without the procedure."

Telly
Telly is a two-year-old Pit Bull in Simi Valley, CA, who needs $2,000 for urgent surgery.
Simi Valley, CA • Southern California Pit Bull Rescue
The deck was stacked against Telly. He was found as a stray who could not use his back left leg. He was likely hit by a car whose driver didn't stick around to help the dog. An X-ray showed Telly's hip was knocked out of the socket. A municipal animal shelter doesn't have the budget to pay for orthopedic surgery. Telly's only ticket out alive was if an adopter or rescue group saved him. The shelter contacted Mark. R., who runs Southern California Pit Bull Rescue. "Only one in six hundred Pit Bulls make it out of a shelter," Mark tells Waggle. And when Mark heard about Telly, he made sure the dog beat the odds -- and saved him. Telly now lives with a foster family who loves him. He needs surgery immediately to fix his hip. Telly also had terrible ear infections. He's on pain medication and antibiotics. The rescue is trying to raise the money for Telly to have his life-changing operation at House Of Paws Veterinary Clinic. "Because of his dislocated hip, limiting his mobility is important. Once he undergoes surgery, Telly will undergo months of rehabilitation on his surgically repaired hip. His hip will have to form scar tissue to hold his hip bone in place. Although he will be able to walk, his activities will have to be monitored," Mark says. Telly's foster family is committed to helping him post-op. They are even prepared to use a sling to help him start walking. All Telly and the rescue needs are funds to cover his medical bill. "We are a nonprofit that depends on donations to help the voiceless," Mark says. "Telly will be able to go on to have a great life because of your generosity." Please help Telly walk without pain!
